In today's episode we're going to talk about moodyness, craminess, depression is...
I don't know but I've had a really rough week with that so I mean the first thing she
said to where we're recording at my house today this is Mara and the first thing Tammy
said was, I think we need to talk about moodyness and craminess.
Okay. Let's do it. It's just been one of those weeks. I mean nothing in particular
really went wrong and I guess I think this is meant to pause it because I had some weird kind
of cramping earlier in the week. So obviously my hormones are doing something and I just felt
everything irritated me, everyone irritated me, poor raking got yelled at a lot. I mean at one point
you know I was crying and for no real reason to feel a little overwhelmed as well like there's
a lot. You feel like there's more shit going on the normal even though it's really just kind of
more a week. Yeah I mean I feel like my house is dirty, my windows are dirty and it's just like
but my windows really are dirty and I need it drives me nuts because it looks it's blocking my view
of the pretty outside and it's hard to clean them because then I have to get a ladder and I have to
do all this stuff and now I don't have a ladder and I get this or thinking all these things in your head
I don't have this and I don't have that and it's been kind of nice outside where we live right now.
So you know the springs kind of in the air a little bit so it kind of makes you want to look
outside more. Yeah I don't have an open window or and I didn't have time to go for a walk or anything
because I was super super busy at work and then I made excuses after and you know it's just
it's like why do we get so moody like this sometimes? I mean you know and what is there to do to help
you I mean obviously I recognize it because I told my friend multiple times this week I'm really
crabby you know through I am at work just why what's right like I don't know I'm just crabby
and so you know everything just annotated me and it's just not normal for me to be
like this this many days in a row. But I think the fact that you were cramping totally means that
it's like a menopause moment if not even menopause like I mean could you like have another period
or I mean I shouldn't but I shouldn't have before when it randomly came after a year so
you know I mean it's just it's just like you said it's overwhelming and you know I do take
medicine for depression and anxiety and you know it's not like I don't think I skipped or missed
because you know doing something like that can totally affect your moods but right we have great
weather this week and it was beautiful and it was sunny and you know what the fuck was wrong with me
and you know it's just it's called fucking hormones I'm gonna I'm gonna go out on a limb and
then I'm telling you so I can just visualize you now so you're sitting there and you're fucking
crabby and you're looking outside and you look and you see your windows are dirty and you're like
mother fuck not only am I crabby not on my fucking windows I mean I bought a window cleaner like
from Amazon the window cleaner with the extension that you you see the men using outside you know
because my windows are high in the back with the squeegee and all that stuff but I realized last
year when I did it that it would be much better job if I had a ladder and I don't have a ladder
so I'm like okay now I'm gonna have to fucking buy a ladder yeah so then I'm looking
online into the prices of ladders and you know it's it's just the ladders aren't cheap either
but it is a good idea to have a ladder at your house I mean I have a step ladder
I would that how you know yeah because it's outside and on a grass and everything and
then would it be cheap from just a higher side? that's like $300 I know it's crazy expensive I
looked less yeah that's why I decided to pay $25 and buy my squeegee and figure out
what to do with myself which I did it just wasn't excuse me it wasn't perfect you know
it wasn't what you wanted it it it cleaned because I could definitely see out better and now
with spring coming and this is just a tease I bet because it's still only what March 4th yeah
we're recording March 4th yeah and you know rain's gonna come this weekend they say but it's still
possible to get you know 20 degrees because you know we fluctuate here 50 degrees in one day yeah
exactly it was almost 80 degrees the other day but then I have to have my heat on it night
because when I woke up it was 52 and I'm like I'll get her turny back on so your windows aren't like
you can't clean them from the end you can't clean the outside from the inside so they're not like
double hung bolt no unless there's a way that I haven't figured out yet but you know I've I've looked
and you know there's no it's a rental so they're not gonna be that fancy I'm sure but
well you never know we can't hang out the window when I don't know I don't know if I need a
kind of danger I know but yeah but no I've done that I've tried that too because you got to take
the screen out because I take the screens out too and spray them because there's a lot of trees
and everything so they get really dusty and dirty and that's why the windows get so bad because
you know I've five trees back there so you know the wind is blowing and trees and you know
everything so what about that window cleaner that works on a hose yeah I thought about that too
and I'm like not from in life could be that easy and then I'm on vacation next week from
Paner sorry I almost said it from my day job I don't know I'm allowed to say it so you might have just
said it I know and my vacation technically Wednesday Thursday Friday and I really don't have anything
to do and next week's my birthday and I'm just like whiny yeah I think there's a little
little hormonal action going on there it's just not fun do you just just kind of been I just
just feel like you've had some longer days and some cramping and overwhelm and all you know just
kind of all adds up do you remember what it was like when we had our periods and we had that pre
menstrual I don't know if I even really remember that like you know things you just felt
bitchy like I have the worst what do you call it is it PMS it's P oh yeah thank you
yes thank you it's been it's been for long since I've had it like when I had my partial
strength me my PMS went away I haven't had PMS in years so I think like it's kind of PMS it's
right does it feel that way do you remember that I don't think I really ever had PMS though but
I think I've had it post more so than I had it during during because my PMS were never bad
they were always really easy just you know three days possibly and you know it was not a big deal
I never had struggled issues yeah so it was fine I think I've had I'm having more issues after
the fact with the moodyness and the crankiness and you know I would almost rather be said
then have no idea why you're being bitchy and cranky to people because I really have lost it
on rig in a couple times this week and you know I have apologize once but sometimes kids does
are a bit you know I mean being cranky is just different because you can't really pinpoint it if
you're sad moody most of the time you can just watch another sad movie cried out and right snuggle
up on the couch and go to bed and be done so the unexplained crankiness is making me cranky
you cranky I know and you know it's just and then you're eating bad because you know nothing
feels right so you know you're snacking and then you feel bad for that you know you're like
fuck it exactly fuck it I don't fucking care I'm gonna eat with a fuck I want to exactly how
you know I felt all week so you know it's been horrible and you know it's just like
unexplained phenomenons that just are not fun and you know what can you really do
well I mean I knew I needed to get out of the house so when you said that I was coming here
I was so excited because I'm like okay maybe that's the problem I need to get out of this house
I need to get out of the you know all of it that's putting me in the mood right
because you're working from home you're not gonna get to leave much yeah except on the weekends
and you know it was just like I was really excited when you're like come here I'm like
yes I can leave in the house and I know that I can leave the house to go to the store go shopping
or blah blah blah but I mean to literally have a place to go for a reason it's completely
different than getting out of the house to go to the grocery store go shopping all right so let me
ask you this because we mentioned so this is a recording day for us so we record several
several episodes so the long way recorded previous to this you mentioned that you know
because you look extra pretty today that's for a little makeup on and you just shut up a little bit
does that make your mood better I think I did that all on purpose too now in hindsight you know
because I wanted to feel better I wanted to you know you always feel better when you look better
but it does get hard sometimes when you work from home I mean I get dressed every day
right and I've shoes on every day but I never always put makeup on every day I put my hair back
in a ponytail and I worked 95% of the time nobody sees me right I mean yeah I had a meeting today
but if it's with another girl worker so who cares I mean some people care some people
look put it together every single day no matter what and the hair of the makeup well I've never
been like that I mean I've gone to the office with no makeup so what's the difference from me
working from home right with makeup so right well you and I have a mutual friend that says that
what did she say gosh I'm gonna get it wrong but something about do your hair and your lipstick
every day and you feel like million bucks something along those lines well I mean I have lipstick with
me 99% of the time wherever I go if I leave the house I have it with me whether it's in my pocket
or you know whatever because that's my so maybe next time when you feel like you're having a bad
week you can wake up the next day I don't know it's just a suggestion might not work at all
maybe you can put a makeup on or just throw some lipstick on after you get your
hair and I think going for a walk would have helped you know because the weather has been so nice
I was just I think you just start drowning in your own sorrow and you don't want to do anything
to make yourself happy right you know right exactly that's why you eat bad because you're like
fuck it fuck it fuck it fuck it fuck everybody you do you just it's like the self pity is okay
and you just don't want to do anything to make yourself feel better and you live in the sorrow and
for a while so it's today a better day it is it's a better day I had a half day at work
and then I mean I look forward to Fridays because you know most of the time we are doing this and
you know that's really a spike like you mean recording yes sorry we're getting together period
whether you know it's just fun and exciting and for some reason our other friend tends to start a
group you know the three of us start something on Fridays she always seems to do it if you
have a big bad she tends to start on a Friday so she's always seems to be in a good mood and you
can't not be in a good mood when she's in a good mood just because she's infectious I think maybe
we will introduce our audience to her shortly yes and a few weeks yeah you know so I mean but what are
some other things that other people could do to help themselves when they find out when they see
feel themselves getting sucked into the crabiness and sucked in you said put on your makeup
yeah so you know like take a shower take them all yeah like we go one taking a walk you mentioned
she probably should have taken a walk got not in fresh air especially since it was kind of lovely here
you know it wasn't 30 it was nicer yeah it was nicer the sound was shining
or I mean maybe play some music that right make you feel better by yourself so
don't beat music get up and dance by yourself in your house I don't know like well that's a good
thing music is a good thing too because you know I've never been one to listen to things while I
work I'll have I'll start with the TV on but at some point it goes off I don't know why I guess it
it just times out times out yeah and most of the time I won't get up and fix it maybe if I'm
walking by to the kitchen I'll do it but even when we were at the office I wasn't a headphone person
that's never how it was in our lives you know I mean and to me that's a distraction I can't
listen to my favorite song because all these memories start coming back and then I'm not focused
in one I'm supposed to be doing I screw it up so it's best if I just have the quiet and I think
it's interesting that you said that's not how we grew up you'll because I think the younger
generation now are used to so many different stimulus going on at the same time
that maybe they can't function without listening to something and having their headphones in
or whatever where you're right you and I didn't grow up with with all of that and it wasn't a
thing like headphones when we were little were those big Hawkins things until they got that you
know the what was that radio thing that you could clip to your belt and you had those one
thing yeah the water and even that they were like you could strap them up over the top of your
ears and they were a little bit bigger right they weren't like they are now we're very
and cordless now yeah even in that moment you wouldn't know it this generation is obviously
better suited to multi task or multi listen some are but oh I think it's just the way they
grew up it is just like that's it was just normal to them like that's they don't know any
different that's why it's not normal to us which is why we and I'm completely okay with the quiet
oh me too I mean I love I'll turn music on too but like I said it goes off but I'm not going to get up
and every whatever I won't do it but you know so music definitely makes me happy yeah I
left it that somebody up I think maybe even like anybody who has it is into meditation or has
even tried it like low meditation like to to calm yourself or just do yourself or to kind of
like just try to get some internal peace you know that's true I mean meditation is always good
and the app that I use always has like five to seven minute things or two you know
to where you can just take a step back and and do it or even call a friend and cry a bit
and complain and get it out that way good have you ever heard tapping I thought you had done
something like that years ago so I do like to tap so I don't do it as much as I would like to
I it tends to like fall like in the back of my memory a little bit you know but it definitely
helps and works just the what is it? Well don't get me to lie in because I'm going to get it wrong
but it has something to do with the the points that it's touching on your body that help and the
things that you say and do while you're doing it helps calm you and centers you in kind of
put you in a different place. It's like an acupuncture. Yes yes yes yes and I I like to follow
I believe his name is to the barber bill but I believe it's about Yates on YouTube and he's kind
of an older older he's probably my age my say older he's probably my kind of I don't I
nerdy looking guy but you know he's my favorite tapping person so yeah so if anybody wanted to
look it up that's that's why would look up first. And normally I mean I don't know had I had
this day to look forward to if I'd still be in that mode. I think cleaning helps too like if you
just all of a sudden you know I'm gonna organize this cabinet or I'm gonna dust the floor whatever
you have to almost dust the floors because hardwood floors with cab hair and and dust you know
I think doing that if you push yourself to clean something it always gives you a brighter feeling.
I 100% agree with you. If you can get yourself to that yeah because if you're not
a lot of times you know when you get what you were talking like in that bucket mode you're like
it's not gonna go shit with my house it's like fuck this fuck right but if you can push yourself
to do it I totally agree I think that helps. If you notice that you're here like I've noticed it so
if for some reason today would have canceled with us I think I would have done that because
I mean I'm a pretty self aware person over the last you know 11 years of my life with
meditation and doctors and what have you so I know I'm in it you know it's how long do I want
to let myself be in it because once you once I believe that once you forget that you're aware
is when you start traveling down a road that where you can't come back from by yourself almost you need
else yeah you know so you know I know I need to go home everybody I think wants to spring clean right now
I agree yep you know so maybe you know that is it that's a good option too and
well I think movement helps doesn't any type of movement so you can push too much in cleaning not only
is the the end results of cleaning nice right because everything looks pretty it's all nice and fresh but
also just the movement of cleaning and the movement of you know again you mentioned walking
you're getting your endorphins out yeah it doesn't change it changes your chemical
and balance yeah it changes the imbalance that you feel like you're having inside it makes it more
balanced yeah so you know it makes sense and you know it's got to help it can't hurt you know
movement and walking and you know talking friends and you know you can let yourself drown in it
for a few days like I did but today I think would have been my last day of if I hadn't been able
to snap or if I weren't coming here to snap it out yeah I would have had to push myself to do
something else because you can get stuck and then that's how you enduck it in truly depressed and
then you just don't you can't get yourself to get out of bed or to do the other things that
kind of get you on the better modes and happy it moves well I'm glad to hear that you're out
then I feel better today she didn't come here fucking me thank you and I did walk in the door
creepy I literally said that I'm like I think we need to talk about it because I'm really
cranky and moody and yep like she said so you know you're having a bad day you know just try and
work through it yeah and you some of those you some of the things that you mentioned I think that
those those things that we talked about are some good pieces of advice for people who are
feeling the same way yeah and it doesn't have to last every you know for a week well I mean if
you need it to that's fine just be aware that you need to get yourself out of it to awareness is too
