Take Bigelow!
I've been listening to the podcast since 2016, and have never once stopped to question that fact. Katie and Allen are living proof that being fun is better than knowing things, and you will never have a better time listening to two people talk about horror movies while both building up and tearing down the things you love. With plenty of running jokes, references to all things Pittsburgh, and self-deprecating humor, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better podcast during this or any other lifetime.

Absolutely bonkers!
Allen and Katie are a true joy! Smart, self deprecating and witty, these two consistently bring the funny week in and week out. They make my Mondays in the office much more tolerable, and never fail to bring a smile to my face. Highest possible recommendation.

Pure joy
Allen and Katie are the embodiment of joy and pure bliss for the brain and earholes. They have truly changed the way I watch and enjoy movies for the better. I never thought I would enjoy having my beloved childhood movies torn to shreds for the epic dumpster fires they truly were, when I was too young, naive and stupid to see the truth. Thank you and keep laughing. Jay

Start the week right!
Hi Katie! Hi Allen! I’m a long time listener first time caller, in fact the first episode I listened to when it premiered new was Friday the 13th Part VII, The New Blood. (My favorite of the entire franchise) Listening to you two babble over movies is awesome. It’s like hanging with friends. Sometimes you don’t know a piece of trivia that I do know, and I yell it at the stereo in my car as I listen to you on my commute to work. Sometimes you enlighten me in trivia I didn’t know so we have a great communal energy when I listen to you. More often than not, I am introduced to a movie I’d never heard of (Neon Maniacs was the first of many) and get to decide if I want to watch it first or listen to your spoilers as you dissect the film. Sometimes that’s more fun because you can go -“oh that’s what they noted about!” Which makes the movie experience as if we were watching it together. As my wife doesn’t watch scary movies this plays out fun in my mind 😂. I have over the years suggested your podcast to many people some of whom have taken my suggestion and now follow you too! There are times when I don’t listen to podcasts for a few weeks or so, and yours is the first one I look up when I come back to it. I have to know what you watched, if I’ve seen it, and if we feel the same about it (sometimes we even do!) It’s easy to suggest you to people, I tell them to roll through your catalogue, find a movie that’s been covered that you truly enjoy and give it a spin. (It could be the most recent, it could be You’re Next!) Everyone should be listening to you two. Your fun, your banter is rarely boring. You may have trivia knowledge (You at least know what other movies the actors are in - like calling Desmond Harrington “Ghost Ship” all through Wrong Turn) And you appreciate something that I hold dear, movies are meant to be watched and discussed. Even if they are not cinema gold! Thanks as always Your #1 Fan! -AJ

Five Titty Bells
I’ve meant to write a review and send an email since I discovered this podcast six months ago; but I have terrible follow through. Now there’s a contest and I like to win. Seriously though, Katie and Allen are my bffs, the bffs they don’t know they have. They’re hilarious even when they hate something I love (except for Repo!). Give this a listen if you like funny people, fries on your sandwich and horror.

Favorite Horror Movie Podcast
Love Alan and Katie’s chemistry, and consistently find myself laughing out loud listening to them. You won’t find two funnier people who actually know and care about the genre riffing on horror movies from every era. Being around the same age as them, as well as a fellow midwesterner, I just appreciate their approach to the podcast.

So funny
Mondays are the worst except that Werewolf Ambulance releases a new episode. I love these two so much because they have so much energy and chemistry and seem like really good people besides that. If you like fun more than knowing things, you will love this show

I was really liking this podcast because they had episodes on movies I really like sich as Ju-On: The Grudge and House (1977). I tried listening to the most recent episode which at this time is 157 Anaconda (1997). A couple minutes in one of the hosts uses a slur that is used against Romani people, I actually had to rewind back to make sure that’s what she said. She even said she’s said that line in multiple episodes. But yeah that turned me off of the whole podcast. It could’ve been taken out and it wouldn’t have changed the episodes. I hope you guys learn and do better.

Much improved
I dropped this podcast early on in its lifespan because of minor annoyances. Katie rarely seemed to pay attention to anything and Alan literally laughed at every single thing Katie or he himself said Over the past couple of years however it’s really stepped up its game and I’m glad I came back. Most of the old problems are gone and replaced with pure funniness. Alan still laughs way too much but he acknowledged it’s a tic and he’s such a nice guy otherwise I don’t mind. Katie is way more engaged too and real funny. 5/5 glad I came back, one of the best horror movie pods out there. Just dodge early eps

So funny! You’ve been making me company for the past two weeks!
I’m a painter from Puerto Rico, and I spend most of my time alone, but this podcast feels like I have two friends making me company while I paint😂 Love it!!! The first ep. I listened to was the Final Destination 3 one, which is my favorite horror franchise. You guys made the movie funnier, hahaha! Keep making us laugh💜 Greetings from Puerto Rico! -Esai

The best horror movie comedy podcast!
If you want two great hosts in the tradition of Sick Burns & Allen, Vocal Fry & Laurie, and Tittybott & Costello, this is the podcast for you. No matter how good, bad, or gory the film they review, each episode is always funny and worth listening to. Also great for road trips! My only "complaint" is so far there are no reviews of horror film musicals! Give me episodes for Anna & the Apocalypse, Repo the Genetic Opera, and Sweeney Todd and I'll be even happier.

This podcast is amazing!
Werewolf Ambulance is a class act in podcasting. The hosts, Katie and Allen, are among my favorite voices in horror movie discussions. I love their pick ups, background info, connections they see, jokes … all of it. The biggest reason you should listen to this one is the tone. Even when neither of them enjoy a movie- or worse still if both find it mediocre- they can talk about it in a compelling and interesting way. Same with complicated topics, which God knows abound in 70s,80s genre flicks. You guys rock. I know there are many film review podcasts out there, but few have the breadth of coverage as WWA, and almost none deliver as reliably as these guys. If they’ve covered a film you’ve seen (and chances are they have…) you should give a listen.

This is the best podcast imaginable
I have watched a total of 5 horror movies in my life, yet I listen to Allen and Katie gush, lambast, or sometimes cry over horror movies, every week. Werewolf ambulance makes my life so much better, and listening to it brings me so much joy. CLEAR!

Delightful and Fun
I am a big diaper baby and don't especially want to watch horror movies. I think because I was such a fearful child it only made me more curious about ghosts, ghouls, goblins, etc. Horror movies are a safe way to explore fear. You can get a peak at what the worst could be and walk away safe and intact (at least physically) on the other side. I discovered this podcast after another similar podcast I had been listening to stopped making new episodes. I am glad now that I found it. It always seems like Allen is put in a giddy mood by having his good friend Katie around. He laughs quite frequently. He also has a laudable amount of knowledge concerning the genre. Katie is always ready with a witty retort, offbeat observation or just plain funny comment. I love the running gags they have developed throughout the run of the podcast. In some of their episodes from the last couple of years they went outside to record. I always enjoyed the Dug the dog "squirrel" moments when interesting cars or people passed by. It is a joy being a fly on the wall and hearing two people who obviously have deep affection for each other just sit and shoot the breeze. If you are looking for an in depth analysis of the genre you might want to look elsewhere. If you like horror movies or are curious about them as I am and love good humor give it a spin. I feel like you won't be sorry.

Awesome Podcast!!
I found Werewolf Ambulance as a result of being a fan of Allen from the Marveling at Marvels Marvels podcast. I was sad to see him leave that podcast and figured I would check out Werewolf Ambulance to see if it lived up to his work on Marveling at Marvels Marvels. It did and then some. I have now listen to most of the back episodes and find myself cracking up all the time. Being an old man like Allen I had seen a lot of the movies from the 70's and 80's that they reviewed and loved the nostalgia it brought to hear these reviews. I have not really seen much of the newer movies as my partner is not a fan of horror movies but still find those episodes great because of the back and forth between Katie and Allen. Keep up the great work you guys are awesome.

I’m so grateful to have found these two
I’m going to try and not make this too sappy but I can’t promise anything. Allen and Katie are amazing hosts, overflowing with charisma and personality. Every episode is an easy, warm, and fun visit that makes you feel like you’re amongst friends even during these days where visiting our own friends may not be so easy. There is something so comforting and homey feeling about their podcast, something I look forward to every week. Werewolf Ambulance has helped me get me through tough times as a recent college graduate trying to find my own way in these unprecedented times, and especially now working with at risk teens, this is something I know I can turn on to always make me chuckle on harder days. You don’t have to be a fan of horror movies. You don’t even have to be a fan of movies. You can just sit down, listen to an episode and let their friendly banter along side their charming jokes and jabs to make you feel as if everything is okay, even if just for an hour or so. Werewolf Ambulance is a gift that I’m so incredibly grateful to have found, it’s a fun and positive listen that has made some pretty bad days feel bearable, and great days feel even better. Though I may be a bit drunk as I type this, I mean every word. If you’re a fan of movies, if you just need something to take your mind off of everything down and dower about the world, if you want a podcast that is genuinely entertaining every single week with a catalogue spanning horror (and sometimes action movies and romcoms) of all genres, I cannot recommend Werewolf Ambulance enough. It’s a shame I can only give them 5/5 and not more. Sending love from a soon-to-be Pittsburghian, keep up the fantastic work, we all appreciate everything you guys do. —--Cam

My #1 Spotify podcast
Typically listen on spotify but came here to review because this podcast deserves so much love. Katie and Allen are a rare non-toxic podcast duo, they don’t over-intellectualize the reviews, and they somehow still (maybe accidentally?) have really insightful things to say between jokes. I’m probably on the younger side among their listeners so it’s fun to hear their takes on newer horror/pop culture trends, and to get gently roasted as part of gen-Z. Listening to a new episode every monday morning is a pretty ok way to start my otherwise rough work weeks. 10/10 would recommend, unless you hate joy and laughter

Made an apple ID just for this
This podcast had me go out of my way to make an account just to leave this review. Im typically lazy so that should say something. Katie and Allen have years of built up friendship that draws you in and quickly makes you feel like you are part of the inside jokes. I work 12 hour shift and this podcast makes those hours infinitly more enjoyable. I tell anyone i know to listen and so should you!

An OG, one of the best
I only found this podcast about 8 months ago and I cannot believe I’m so late to the game. I’ve blown through every episode of movies I’ve seen and this has also expanded my range of new movies I’ve never seen. Katie & Allen have the best banter and my GOD they’re so funny. 5 stars, a must listen, a must not miss, you get the gist.

Come on Shudder!
Come on Shudder, pay these people!! I’ve listened to hundreds of hours of horror movie podcasts, most of them make me want to continuously bang my head into the wall. Not Werewolf Ambulance! Katie and Allen are beyond terrific. Hilarious, genuine, and (as most other reviews state) they have incredible chemistry. I’ve re listened to their entire back catalogue an amount of times that Katie would question if I’m okay. I even subscribed to Shudder to keep up on some of the movies I hadn’t seen before. So, it works… now give them money. …. Also, maybe the Pittsburg tourism board should pay them too. They make it sound pretty dope.

Not terribly bad
If you ever wanted a horror movie podcast that doesn’t do research or runs fact checks, then this is the show for you. Just get past the first few episodes where you question whether or not Katie actually likes horror films; see the Return of the Living Dead episode, and they find their footing into one of the most enjoyable podcasts. I mostly hate podcasts in general and find them to be taxing to listen too but I can’t wait for Monday’s episode. Also Katie’s friend isn’t too bad himself. He has an infectious joy for horror films.

“Bye Bye”
Been a long-time listener and always enjoy the discussion whether I’ve seen the movie being discussed or not. These two are so entertaining in their conversations, but I truly enjoy the episodes where real life intrudes on the discussions (the number of loud cars that drive by during the porch recordings sometimes result in hilarious comments). Honestly, if you’re a (primarily) horror film fan, this is a fun low-key discussion of the things that work and don’t work about the film with affable hosts that are highly entertaining regardless if they enjoy the movie or not. And, honestly, I can’t get enough of Katie saying “bye bye” ever since the Bye Bye Man episode; cracks me up every time! Please continue to sign off with that!

I found this podcast right as Allen left his more popular podcast and devoted his time to this one. What a friend he is to help Katie out like that. Not only is this podcast entertaining, but also informative. Where else would a comic book nerd learn about exploding orgasms that bees experience, not on Marveling at Marvel’s Marvels, that’s for sure. Also I learned that somebody else knows what “The devil is beating his wife” means. After I listened to the first few ‘casts, I watched “The Thing”, to understand Allen’s tastes, because he referenced it sooooo much in the beginning. I liked it. I don’t recall if Katie referenced a movie more than “Weekend at Bernie’s” or “ Child’s Play 2”, which I had seen both of, several times each.

Horror Movie talk has never been more enjoyable!
Waking up on Monday mornings with Katie and Allen is like catching up with two old friends after a long, hard week. The minute Katie recognized that Child’s Play 2 is one of cinemas unsung masterpieces is the minute I realized that this was my favorite podcast. I love this show so much that I didn’t even get mad when they bashed one of my other all-time favorite sequels, Creepshow 2. But seriously, even when they are expressing opinions that I do not agree with, they are always a delight.

I went through the trouble of making an Apple ID (very distasteful to this Android user) to rave about this great podcast. I enjoy Katie and Allen talking about horror films far more than I ever enjoyed watching horror. Went back and listened from the beginning and they are just a lot of fun and also educational Things I have learned: Yinz (Dawn v Don) Italian (Spicy Meatball vs Giallo) West Virginian (Mistuur Lectuur) Safety around horses (No such thing) and when best to spot a Savini in the wild

my kind of people
I found this podcast two months ago and i’ve listened to like 2/3 of it. i work a 40 hour work week with my ears free. for sure the funniest horror podcast i’ve found i love people with this sense of humor. i’ve noticed sometimes they don’t pay attention to who dies and apparently think a lot of characters have died when they didn’t and vice versa. that’s okay though i’m bad at paying attention too. i also appreciate all the obscure movies i’ve watched because of this pod that i never would have seen otherwise. found some new favorite horror movies this way. thanks for having so many episodes to listen to you’ve made my work week much better. also the other horror podcast i listen to is dead meat and they have a cat named lucy so i would love to know if that has any horror significance or if katie just liked that name.

Whether it’s having incorrect opinions on most horror comedies or having correct thoughts on how awful Susperia is, Katie and Alan (At this point in so far in the review I can’t go check to see if that’s spelled correctly) are my favorite movie watching pals. 10 out of 10, would recommend

Awesome Horror Movie Podcast!
Love the podcast! Allen and Katie are great, and have such wonderful chemistry. I look forward to listening to each and every episode. I would really love it if you both would cover a queer horror film for Pride Month in June. Hellbent or Knife+Heart get my vote. Stay safe!

Hi Allen and Katie! You guys are so wonderful and hilarious, you guys have made me laugh all through college, and even though yesterday was supposed to be my graduation, your Titanic revisions episode helped me get through my missing-out sadness. Thank you for the countless hours of entertainment, you guys rock!!

I love Katie and Allen! I have so much fun listening to these two recap and review movies, even when they personally offend me with their ratings. They’re hilarious and genuine and so much fun. Glad I found the pod late in the game so I can spend all my time binging it now.

The podcast I look forward to the most each week
If you’re here on this podcast, you’re either looking for the best horror/comedy movie review podcast on iTunes or the second-best film-review podcast in Finland. Either way, you came to the right place. They also go above and beyond to provide you with relevant advice about (not) trusting horses, the effects a milkshake can have on Corolla interiors, and the impracticality of wearing someone else’s skin! Stick around, subscribe, and you’ll never be let down.

Love this podcast
I’ve always listened to creepy pastas or comedy or true crime podcasts but just recently stumbled upon horror movie podcasts and luckily found this one. They are so entertaining and they have SO MANY movie titles that they’ve reviewed. Mostly horror but some classics (non horror) as well. These two are great and funny. 5/5

Rainy Days and Mondays…
ALWAYS get me down, but then…the light at the end of the tunnel (or beginning of the day, really) is the fact that a new episode of Werewolf Ambulance will be there waiting for me to download and listen to just before the beginning of my work. It’s gotten so that as soon as the goodbyes start, I’ll rewind to the beginning of the episode and skip to another podcast so I can listen to it all over again after work. You should too. Like really, DO IT! P.S. My apologies for inundating your Instagram with horror oddities and memes. It’s a thing. - Server Monkey.

One of my favorite pods.
I listen to a lot of podcasts, and this one ranks 1 or 2. I found them by listening to Marveling at Marvels Marvels and Alan mentioned this podcast (many, many times) so I had to check it out. It is now my top or second, depending on my mood. They love horror movies. Which is a nice change, because most horror podcasters seem to not like horror movies. They are funny, give great horror movie reviews, and have fun side tracked conversations. Thanks guys. You’re the best.

Longtime Pittsburgh resident who’s been listening since I came back in 2017. Just wanted to point out that the Mausoleum episode led me to find old episodes of Commander USA’s Groovy Movie for free, on YouTube . They were recorded on VHS, commercials included, somewhere in the Northern New Jersey area during the 80’s. Thanks Alan and Katie!

Horror and rapport...er...? (I’m sorry)
Long time listener, first time reviewer (again, I have failed): the warmth, repartee, and commitment of these two hosts transcends the conceit to the point where horror fans and non-horror fans should find plenty to keep subscribing. They were a glimmer of light when I first started listening 6 years ago and are just as much so in even more uncertain times. Sorry it took so long to write this.

Great podcast
I love this podcast. Always look forward to the witty conversation they have about crappy movies which often boils down to Katie’s pessimistic (but realistic) views on the trash they watch and Allen’s fanboy enthusiasm for almost every single one of them. I find myself in the middle very often, but always appreciate the fun they seem to be having. Bonus points for saying my home Detroit’s not that big a s*%thole on the Leprechaun in Space episode.

Best Podcast
One of my go to podcasts to pass the time at work, (other being Marveling at Marvel’s marvels) either way Katie and Allen are great hosts which got me back into watching horror movies I missed out on or would of never thought to watch, well besides that piece of trash Ginger Deadman. Shout out to Katie’s love of wrestling! For the fellow EMTs I was having trouble finding some of the movies, but found this app called Tubi that has loads of the movies you two have reviewed and a huge selection of horror for hopefully future reviews, There’s Chromecast support and also a Xbox app most likely PS4 as well. Thanks for doing this!

Hilarious and a huge tease
So, this show is excellent. The hosts are super funny and have awesome, compulsively listenable banter. You should absolutely listen to it. You will definitely binge. But it’s important to understand that they mention Steven Weber from Wings or the ABC TV-movie adaptation of The Shining, starring Steven Webber from Wings — IN EVERY EPISODE. After a while you will find yourself awake at night, sweating, consumed by the question — why don’t they just review the ABC TV-movie adaptation of The Shining, starring Steven Webber from Wings? Has it really never occurred to them? Why are they doing this?! End this excruciating tease! JUST REVIEW THE MOVIE.

Must Listen!
After finally watching Hereditary, I was both confused and horrified, and in desperate need for some sort of resolution. This started my journey of looking for a movie review podcast that discussed it. I came across werewolf ambulance and it was a much needed palate cleanser. If you are addicted to horror and need a laugh this is your show! 9/10 times I skip ads on podcasts, but this show has more than earned my full attention for the entirety of each episode. I have started listening to the show from beginning, and may legit cry once Im all caught up and have to wait a week between episodes. This podcast brings me life!! A little over a month ago I stumbled on this podcast and being new to the podcast listening world I loved the name and I gave it a shot. The Warlock episode wasn’t even done, and I knew I had found a winner. I have binged every episode and LOVED every minute of it. Katie and Allen create a fun and comical enjoinment that only two good friends can, there are times I forgot that I was listening to a podcast and not sitting in the attic with them and that is something cool in a podcast that isn’t easily found. It is clear that these to people are good friends and share a mutual love of the wide variety of the horror genera. Thanks to Katie I now look at horses in a new terrifying way so much, so I now take the long way on my Sunday morning coffee run and no longer pass the horse stables right outside my neighborhood. Your love of Brian from Wings brings me life and any update on Tom Savini watch brightens my day. I can’t wait to see what you have in store! Thank you for doing what you do! I am recommending (forceful encouragement) to everyone I know!!!

This podcast almost makes me forget that all of my friends hate horror movies...
I’ve been listening to this podcast for about a year and I love it. I feel like my own words won’t do this show justice so I’m going to employ the services of a review I found on Amazon after having a few drinks. Just replace “Good Burger” with “Werewolf Ambulance” and it will probably work.. “There are very few movies that make me fall off my chair and giggle profusely. This is one of them. I don't know why I giggle so much at this ridiculous movie. It is so silly. Yeah, so... so... silly. But I find it so, so charming. But why? There are so many ridiculous puns. There is nothing on this blue and green Earth that I like more than puns and this movie provides them either intentionally or unintentionally. SAUCE!!! etc... I cab;t think of many of them now because I am still chuckling from the after-effects of this deleightful film. It is just absurd beyond comparison, well every single film about teenagers with a PG rating would be, but unlike many other films, the toned down language and situations of this film provide it with additional pun fodder and additional charm. The formulaic story and the formulaic characters are all groovy with me. I am not even high or drunk, but this movie intoxicates me with a bizarre laughter. Kenan and Kel have made me happy today. BRILLIANT!”

May be the PERFECT podcast
Horror movies thoroughly - and hilariously - reviewed by real fans. Not insiders, not "aycthyally..." film geeks - people like your pals who see a film, don't know all the backstory and enjoy it - or not - at face value. I find myself wanting to add my own comments and having to remind myself it's pre-recorded. Has me re-watching old films. re-evaluating some and discovering others. SO, so good.

One of the best
Werewolf Ambulance is by and far one of the best horror movie review podcasts out there. As a die hard fan of the horror genre I am well aware that a large percentage of the genre is crap. Enjoyable crap, but crap nonetheless. Allan and Katie have a hysterical viewpoint that makes for an extremely enjoyable listen. My favorite is Katie's exasperation with the truly awful films. I highly recommend this show to anyone looking for a good time discussing the good and bad of the horror film catalog.

A horror movie podcast
My favorite podcasts are the ones where you don't necessarily have to be into the subject matter to enjoy them. I do like horror movies, and enjoy Katie and Allen's takes, but I'm really here for the laughs and their friendship. Things Katie is Afraid of...
Burlap (the scariest fabric), horses, water, indoor birds, the woods, the outside in general, not most horror movies. My fiancé says he hates scary movies because they are usually really bad bad movies, but real horror fans know you gotta sit through a LOT of stinkers before you hit a good spooker. And because we know that, we learn to appreciate the garbage as much as the gold. So do Katie and Allen. Sometimes Katie is drunk. That's cool too. My fiancé won't watch movies with me so I'll watch them with my Pittsburgh friends from now on.

I was introduced to this podcast by a friend who knows one of these two. I've never considered myself to be a fan of horror movies but I listened to the episodes for the movies that I had seen and I LOVED THEM ALL. I may be biased, but hear me aht...
Okay, I've known Katie and Allen for a while, and they did have me on an episode, but I promise they aren't paying me at all for this glowing review. Well, not unless you count friendship as payment, which it should be. The best kind of compensation really. Every Monday I look forward to a new episode of Werewolf Ambulance. During these bleak Pittsburgh winter days it keeps me going! Sometimes I watch the movies they review, other times not so much. If you don't mind spoilers (ruiners?), I think each episode can be enjoyed on its own comedic merits. It's a lot more fun to watch the movies ahead of time though. And again, congratulations, Katie! SPOILER ALERT! You're going to rock this pregnancy and motherhood. <3 -t.

I love WereAmb! Katie and Alan are wonderful. They’re everything you could want to listen to from two people in an attic talking about horror movies (and Days of Thunder). Yeah, obviously, these 2 lovable goofballs discuss + review a whole range of horror from the true classics to the the truly terrible, but it goes so far beyond that. Jokes? They got ‘em. Terrifically endearing rapport? Absolutely. Insights into the obscure and in depth talk about: spilled milkshakes in Toyota Corollas, Channing Tatum being a human fist, Stephen Kang, and a decent part of the cast of the TV Show Wings ? Yes. Truly a gem. And this is coming from someone who dislikes most things. So. Five stars. All day.

Your new favorite podcast
Werewolf Ambulance is, without a doubt, my favorite podcast. The show is like sitting down for an hour with your coolest and funniest friends to chat about an old favorite movie or a newly discovered obscure gem. The pacing is fantastic and you'll basically spend an hour each week laughing until your sides hurt. I only wish the episodes were longer, they're just that much fun.

New favorite podcast!
Werewolf Ambulance is a horror movie podcast where the hosts discuss one movie a week, sometimes with a guest. That simple premise is rocketed into orbit on their strength of its two ultra-charming hosts. Allen and Katie make it feel like you're just shooting the breeze with a couple of old friends. They're irreverent without being obnoxious, knowledgeable without being snooty. Even people who aren't typically horror fans will find plenty to love about this show!

I could not recommend this show highly enough
Alright, I started listening to this show somewhere in ‘oughts. Those early shows… Alucarda, God Monster. Yikes. An excellent podcast about horrible movies makes for entertainment. The hosts put up with some epically deep bad movies folks, for really reals. This show is absolutely without a doubt a show that I would recommend to any fan of horror films looking to enjoy some truly entertaining commentary on a variety of movies ranging from straight up horrible to truly amazing horror movies. #Saviniwatch2016

100% fun for horror fans!
Katie and Allen approach horror movies with honest opinions and a lot of humor. They have just the right age difference to have very different experiences with earlier movies. The rhythm of the show and the chemistry between the hosts is readily apparent and easy to enjoy.

Love it.
Love this podcast. When I hear that they are reviewing a movie I know and love or hate, I get a little *perk*. Straight up fun back and forth between two people that feel like fun to watch movies with, and know how to deliver an entertaining podcast. Thanks Katie and Allen!

very funny and entertaining
I initially checked out WA because I enjoy discussion of horror movies, but I stayed for the hosts. Katie and Allen are funny, interesting people with enjoyable chemistry who talk about everything from social issues raised by the movies they're reviewing to fart jokes. I've listened to all the eps about movies I'm interested in and moved on to ones about movies I could not care less about because it's just so much fun to listen to them talk about a subject they're so passionate about. Give this podcast a try; it's a blast to listen to.

What goes through the minds of horror fans?
When regular picture horror movie fans they might have visions of psychos dancing in their heads. In my experience, people who love horror films act more like these folks. Good horror movies are funny as hell, ritualized, absurd, and a great deal more fun to discuss socially than any other genre. These folks aren't academics or snobs, just a couple of people cracking up about the movies they love. Strange as it may seem, the best podcasts thrive on the quality of their tangents and asides and this is one of the very best I've found. They have hilarious conversations and occasionally brilliant insights. Their Silence of the Lambs discussion on Buffalo Bill's choice of bedspread prooved particularly ingenious. So yeah, if you've ever laughed at horror movies give it a shot.

The hosts have great chemistry and presence. I wish I could watch movies with them. I love that they review great, mediocre, and just plain awful horror. They bring their A-game every time and give an earnest assessment of the merits of each movie. They are also hilarious and make me laugh every time. They’ve introduced me to movies I hadn’t heard of or hadn’t considered giving a chance until now. Why didn’t I watch Ginger Snaps earlier???? If you love horror or just movies in general I think there’s a lot here to love.

Love this computer radio program about horror films!
I just discovered this computer radio program (C.R.P.) when searching for the word "werewolf" on iTunes, something I do on occasion. Turns out, it's great. Despite the cover photo, there is no actual werewolf in this C.R.P., but it doesn't matter because it's still a HOWLingly good time. You'll HOWL with laughter, then you'll also HOWL with surprise. You'll even HOWL long, mournful HOWLs of sadness when each episode is over. Check it out. It's a "real HOWLer!"

Good Times
Always on the look out for good film discussion podcasts, I happened upon this little gem. Allen and Katie have great chemistry as they unpack some 'awesome'? movies. If your looking for excessive conversational cussing and sophomoric humor this aint your podcast. However if your looking to feel like your hanging out with some cool friends talking cheesy flicks, this is for you.

Love this podcast. Katie seems to hate every movie they watch except child's play 2 but it makes for hilarious dialogue. I feel I relate to Allen too much and that scares me. Would love to get a sticker or pin that they always talk about not shipping out. Listen to them all and stop waisting your life.

Excellent!
If you are looking for entertainment, you will find it with this podcast. Laugh while getting an education in horror cinema, Katie's grandma's life sustaining crush on Johnny Depp, and continuous reminders of why you should watch "The Thing." Appreciate the multiple references to "medicine" enhanced viewing and the occasional death and/or black (but never false) metal. Long Live Pap Pap!

they suffer so I don't have to
I'm not a horror fan, but I like this podcast a whole bunch. It's hard to beat intelligent and funny people talking about stuff they love, plus they summarize all the awful movies I'm never actually going to watch. It's all of the intra-movie snark-talking without actually needing to watch the movie -- perfect!

Genuinely entertaining even for the horror apathetic
Hosts Katie and Alan have really hit their stride of late and their mix of perspectives, interests and personalities really make for an interesting and rewarding listen, even if you have very faint memories of the actual movies being reviewed.

From classic to cult, Allen & Katie's discussions so obviously come from a love of horror that even (especially?) when it all reaches unholy levels of camp, their reviews shine with a celebratory reverence for the genre. Their rapport is endearing & fun, and I learn something every time. Plus, the Ambulance's production is top notch. Highly recommended!

An All-Around Great Podcast
This podcast is wonderful. Yes, it's centered around discussion of horror movies, but beyond that it's an extremely entertaining time with two really solid folks (plus occasional guests). I'm so, so glad to have this to listen to each week (even if I haven't seen the week's movie, it's still great fun).

Horrifically Funny
Caveat - These guys are friends of mine, they mention me on about 50% or more of the episodes, and I've been a guest. All that aside, I think there is something here for any fan of the horror genre. Each episode give a general synopsis and detailed review of the film in question, and it's clear they do some homework before recording. They cover a wide variety, from straight to Netflix trash to some of the classics. The reviews focus on story, rather than the features of a certain releases. I think all genre film fans have had these kinds of conversations with friends, and this is a great opportunity to get two more opinions.

Awesome reviews of some awful movies
I've been listening to this podcast from the very first episode and it's made me laugh every single time. Whether it's complete garbage, mediocre trash or genuinely fun the hosts approach each film in earnest. The age difference between the two helps provide two different vantage points as well. But the undercurrent that lends all the jokes and jabs merit is a sincere love of the genre.

We'd also be remiss in not pointing out the following spectacular performances from professional wrestlers: Episode 80- "Predator" (Jesse Ventura), Episode 301- "Halloween" (Skywalker Nitron aka Tyler Mane in the Rob Zombie reimagining), Episode 311- "Girl on the Third Floor" (CM Punk), Episode 404- "They Live" (Rowdy Roddy Piper), and Episode 405- "12 Hour Shift" (Mick Foley). Special topics for your consideration include: so much talk about Burger King that you might run right out and get yourself a flame-boiler Whopper™, words that you can't say on this podcast, problematic furniture, and a true roundup of horror favorites: dumb teens, bad advice, annoying demons, not listening to the one person who is trying to help, and more! - Werewolf Ambulance: A Horror Movie Comedy Podcast May 22 · 48m Episode 429- Witchfinder General (1968)In this week's episode, we're trying to make lemonade out of a lot of lemons... and then maybe just dumping a whole bunch of gin into the pitcher to take the edge off a real piece of work: the 1968 Vincent Price film "Witchfinder General." Hoooo boy. Special topics for your consideration include: a movie that isn't the one you remembered and certainly not the one you wanted, the grossest you'll ever see Vincent Price behave, hair concerns, horse concerns, and a whole bunch of bonus content. - Episode 428- Scream VI (2023)It's a landline! It's a knife! It's the newest entry into the "Scream" franchise! This week, we're discussing 2023's "Scream 6" or "SCREAVI" or whatever it is that they're stylizing. Special topics for your consideration include: having very shallow memories when it comes to the last two installments of this series, stanning our short kings and queens...of law enforcement? and also a quick PSA on where it is and is not acceptable to tag "ACAB," Dermot Mulroney!, and our slow descent into madness. We have covered all the "Scream" movies! That's either an accomplishment or a reason to seek therapy. They are: the original in Episode 44, "Scre4m" in Episode 228, "Scr3am" in Episode 278, "Scream 5[?]" in Episode 374, and "Scream 2" in Episode 391. - Episode 427- Battle Royale (2000)In this week's episode, we're tackling a movie that (spoiler alert!) we both love a lot: it's the 2000 Japanese film "Battle Royale." Special topics for your consideration include: butt slashing, trusting adults, the fact that this movie might be a comedy?, fantastic death scenes, and the sad fact of knowing everything we know about other cultures from terrible 80s movies. Into Japanese horror? We've covered shockingly little of it! We've done "Hausu" in Episode 115 and the remake of "The Ring" (no longer Japanese, I know) way back in Episode 98. - Episode 426- The Funhouse (1981)In this week's episode, we're digging into some post-"Texas Chainsaw Massacre," pre-"Poltergeist" Tobe Hooper in the 1981 slasher "The Funhouse." Special topics of conversation include: some minor societal red flags like teens dating people in their 30s and allowing a stranger to wash your child (?!), utterly amazing 1980s slang that perhaps didn't catch on, the Delaware state fair, terrible last words, and a very fun AMA with some listeners! We've never discussed "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" because it's a perfect movie and there's not much to be funny about, but we HAVE discussed its raucous sequel "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2" in Episode 56, along with "Poltergeist" in Episode 212. - Episode 425- Knock at the Cabin (2023)Hello EMTs! I'm on vacation this week so instead of writing up a bunch of jokes about the movie, I am just going to say that in addition to your Pittsburgh baseball Pirates currently sitting in first place, Dave Bautista wearing people clothes is my absolute favorite thing to happen in 2023. - Episode 424- Stoker (2013)In this week's episode, we're unable to find a decently reliable streaming version of listener-requested film "The Others," so we took the next best Nicole Kidman option: the 2013 psychological thriller "Stoker." It's a movie about vampires... OR IS IT?! Special topics for your consideration include: weird familial relationships, Allen's concern about finding one's "thing," chasing that disgust dragon, lifeless mannequin eyes, and the fleshing out of our new podcast idea, "Murder Nut." If you want more Nicole Kidman, please please go back and listen to Episode 76, cleverly titled "???? (1990)" because it is "Days of Thunder" and hoo boy what a perfect film. Right? - Werewolf Ambulance: A Horror Movie Comedy Podcast Apr 10 · 1h Episode 423- Sinister (2012)In this week's episode, we're questioning why Ethan Hawke loves being in movies about dead children so much with the 2012 supernatural thriller "Sinister." Special topics for your consideration include: making a whole ass movie about wandering your house in the dark while wearing lounge pants, being a whiner about coffee, being a shit husband and a shittier dad, actors you know from every other conceivable things, and the problem with true crime. Do you enjoy seeing Ethan Hawke act against dead children? You may enjoy Episode 394- "The Black Phone." Do you enjoy Vincent D'Onofrio doing whatever he wants? - Episode 422- Shrunken Heads (1994)In this week's episode, we're headed back to the weird and wonderful world of Charles Band with the 1994 film "Shrunken Heads." Special topics for your consideration include: adult teens, a lesson in Haitian history, Meg Foster in the role of a lifetime, inappropriate jauntiness, nepotism babies, and condominiums, Charles Band is a nutbar and I love him (almost all the time). - Episode 420- Annihilation (2018) feat. Smoking Joe PerryDudes, it's 420! We're celebrating by hanging with our friend Perry and discussing his pick, the 2018 sci-fi horror film "Annihilation." In the grand tradition of Werewolf Ambulance, though, it was not quite the movie he remembered. This is what they get for not letting me watch "Bong of the Dead," seriously! Special topics for your consideration include: wondering whether this movie is a metaphor for drugs or just sadness, exhaustion as a character choice, dealing with the consequences of not knowing a thing, and of course, weed. 420 baby! - Episode 419- The Dark and The Wicked (2020)In this week's episode, we're discussing the 2020 supernatural horror film "The Dark and the Wicked," aka "An Extremely Allen Movie." Special topics for your consideration include: two very different schools of thought when it comes to handling one's emotions, chasing that old scare dragon, the hardness of farm folk (particularly compared to how baby-soft we are), and a delightfully Pittsburgh voicemail. If you liked this movie, you'll probably love Episode 255- "Lake Mungo." We've also dealt with themes of grief in Episode 11- "The Babadook," Episode 47- "Don't Look Now," Episode 116- "The Descent," Episode 159- "Pet Sematary," Episode 224- "Hereditary," and Episode 270- "Midsommar." - Werewolf Ambulance: A Horror Movie Comedy Podcast Feb 27 · 1h 7m Episode 418- The NunIn this week's episode, we're back to the Wan-iverse with the 2018 supernatural horror film "The Nun." Special topics for your consideration include: a case of mistaken identity, rewriting The Replacements lyrics to be about prayer, an extremely graphic depiction of the monetization of this film, and even more controversial opinions that will likely alienate our listenership! Did you miss our episodes on "The Conjuring" series? They are Episode 96 (the OG) and Episode 33 (the sequel). And for good measure, why don't you also listen to Episode 303- "Insidious" because I am half-sure they are all the same movie? - Episode 417- Skinamarink (2023)In this week's episode, we're discussing the brand new 2023 independent film "Skinamarink." Special topics for your consideration include: um, you know, saying some stuff...about stuff? Talking about corners, walls, ceilings, and the feet of children, trying to get a foothold in someone else's nightmare, and a very weird personalized license plate. We've done a couple avant garde/arthouse style horror movies in the past. May we suggest Episode 115- "Hausu," Episode 194- "Santa Sangre," or Episode 240- "Mandy"? Also, does everything Lucio Fulci ever made count? If so, boy have we done a lot of those. Support us at patreon.com/werewolfambulance where you can hear us discuss an action movie each month. - Episode 416- A Chinese Ghost Story (1987)In this week's episode, we're discussing the 1987 supernatural (?) educational (??) erotic (???) film "A Chinese Ghost Story." Normally I'd write some jokes here and compare it to other movies we've covered, but frankly the Super Bowl made me get too tore up to do all that. Totally not my fault obviously. You'll like this movie though, it's pretty goddamn fantastic. Support us at patreon.com/werewolfambulance where you can hear us discuss an action movie each month. Special topics for your consideration include: a gift from a listener sparks food joy for us, being open to John Leguizamo, gatekeeping of hobbies, the good old days of smoking in restaurants, red flags in a potential partner, and chocolate hats, THE CHOCOLATE HATS! We've covered two Anya Taylor-Joy movies in the past (Episode 73- "The Witch" and Episode 319- "New Mutants" which is also a crossover with the 'Marveling at Marvel's Marvels podcast) and one Nicholas Hoult (Episode 267- "Warm Bodies.) - Episode 413- Maximum Overdrive (1986)In this week's episode, we're discussing Stephen King's directorial debut (and hasty exit from directing), the 1986 diesel-themed disaster "Maximum Overdrive." Special topics for your consideration include: a quick visit to our errors & omissions corner, a retrospective on the career of Emilio Estevez, more inexplicable sex stuff from Steven Kang himself, the great unifier that is AC/DC and trucks. Just...just trucks. Stephen King villains are funny. Please enjoy a group of religious children in Episode 59- "Children of the Corn," a car in Episode 126- "Christine," a teenage girl in Episode 206- "Carrie," a dog in Episode 218- "Cujo," and some grass? or a rune or something, I genuinely cannot remember, in Episode 291- "In the Tall Grass." - Werewolf Ambulance: A Horror Movie Comedy Podcast Jan 16 · 56m Episode 412- Motel Hell (1980)In this week's episode, we're concluding our siblings-running-a-farm rock block with the 1980 utterly bananas film "Motel Hell." Truly, the mind boggles. Special topics for your consideration include: a fantastic tagline for a movie or a brand of smoked meats or really whatever you're promoting, the siren call of Rory Calhoun, terrible police work, absolutely baffling motivations, and the age old question of what did characters know and when did they know it? I'm putting this up there with a handful of my other favorite bizarre horror movies of the 1980s- Episode 35- "Neon Maniacs," Episode 140- "Killer Klowns from Outer Space," Episode 174- "Chopping Mall," and Episode 265- "Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-o-Rama." - Episode 411- Nope (2022)In this week's episode, we're tackling one of the biggest horror movies of last year-- it's Jordan Peele's "Nope." Special topics for your consideration include: the first in a movie rock block of siblings running farms together, a real lack of knowledge around things like television channels, new emcee names, the worst day of your life, and of course, horses. Fuckin horses. We've covered all three of the recent Jordan Peele movies- Episode 124- "Get Out" and Episode 226- "Us." Hey, give us a call and leave us a voicemail! - Episode 410- Falling for Christmas (2022)In this week's episode, we've got the much-anticipated annual romcom episode with the Lindsay Lohan/Chord Overstreet holiday vehicle "Falling for Christmas." Fantastic. Special topics for your consideration include: rich ski people, the utter delight that is Lindsay Lohan, the utterly unbelievable name that is CHord Overstreet, the concept of a 'flapjack daddy,' a few *small teeny tiny* plot holes in this otherwise-perfectly conceived and masterfully written film, and another much-anticipated event: another voicemail from Claudia. Wanna hear our other romcom episodes? They are Episode 209- "Love Actually," Episode 261- "You've Got Mail," and Episode 361- "Miss Congeniality," but we also once went absolutely insane while in lockdown and spent the better part of three hours over two episodes discussing "Titanic." Those were Bonus Episodes #3 & 4 in April and May of 2020. What a time to have been alive. Hey, be more like Claudia and leave us a voicemail! - Re-release: Over the Top (1987)Look EMTs, the holidays can be tough and we can get tired, plus there are holiday Oreos, and you know how it goes. Frankly we needed a week off and, in the spirit of comfort & joy, we're leaving you with one of our all-time favorite episodes, "Over the Top." Stick around til the end to find out who won an arm wrestling match between us back in 2017. We'll catch you all with renewed vigor next week for our fourth annual* New Year's romcom, "Falling for Christmas." *it should have been our fifth, but one year we must really have had the holiday blues because we dropped the idea altogether and did "The Fate of the Furious." Geniuses. Thanks for sticking with us, and be kind to each other and yourselves.0 comments0
- Episode 409- Anna and the Apocalypse (2017)In this week's episode, we're giving our Discord channel (seriously, join us over there! https://discord.com/invite/DutFjx3cBD) what they wanted, and they wanted the 2017 Scottish zombie musical "Anna and the Apocalypse." Special topics for your consideration include: a lot of British television talk, Santa Claus: hot or not?, taking the time to talk about your feelings during an actual apocalypse, offensive things that we said about Blink 182 and also Jesus but we left them in the episode just for you, and what life would be like if the people around you just sometimes broke out into song? Yikes. Into horror movies with some musical numbers? We've done two others: Episode 13- "The Phantom of the Paradise and Episode 389- "Repo! The Genetic Opera." And, not a musical, but please watch "The Alien Factor" (Episode 183) if only for the finest musical performance we've ever seen in a horror movie with the Baltimore-based band Atlantis playing a real banger, "Maybe Someday."
