This podcast is very well made and I like how it is clean, which I appreciate. Also some stuff for Marquess is that I was born 10 years after Ja Morant to the day and also I have an IPhone 7 that goes down 70% in 1.5 hours. 😭

Initial thoughts
Found the podcast through the Waveform clips on YouTube, and I’m stoked to find out the videos were just pieces of the bigger podcast. Excited to keep listening! Just one thing to nitpick at, and this is coming from another podcast editor, is that Marques’ microphone sounds distinctly worse than the other hosts, specifically episode 141. The clicks and crackling is quite noticeable while commuting with the volume way up than watching the videos at home. Otherwise, great podcast and will continue to listen!

Top 5 tech podcast out there
I watch & listen to a lot of tech YouTubers and podcasts and MBKHD is referenced a lot so I started watching & checking out his stuff and very much enjoy it I don’t watch everyone but I do check out a lot of his Apple related ones and enjoy his stuff on some of the Samsung devices too he just has very good & interesting content. I just started listening to & watching his waveform podcast great show definitely worth watching & listening to 😎🤙🏻

Andrew frequently interrupts Marques
I like the YouTube channel and enjoy this podcast well enough but what makes it hard to listen to is Andrew. He FREQUENTLY interrupts Marques as well as talks over him. He also will make loud verbal sounds to agree, disagree, interject, etc., which is very distracting. On the other hand, Marques is calm and respectful. Andrew’s behavior doesn’t exactly reach the point of rudeness, but his behavior is very distracting for a podcast. This in turn adversely affects my experience. As a result, I give this otherwise great podcast a 3/5.

Reminder: This is an audio podcast
This is a great podcast if you’re familiar with MKBHD YouTube and like a summary of things going on in tech recently. However, the podcast in the earlier episodes were format for audio listeners. More recent episodes they have really started to transition to video viewers and forgetting that audio is where they started.

A good show about hot tech
If you like MKBHD on YouTube you’ll enjoy this podcast. I’d recommend just diving into it with current content as the older stuff is a bit rough as they were adjusting to this longer form format. Only thing I dislike is I do think there are occasions where they treat audio listeners as second class and rather than put the effort into explaining something for audio they just tell us that we should be watching the YouTube channel. Which really isn’t what I want out of this show.

Just some constructive criticism
If you are a fan of the MKBHD channel, I would not listen to this podcast. Half or more of every podcast is taken up by topics that they have already talked about on the channel, and points that they have already brought up in their videos. It is a super fun pod if you don’t watch their videos though!

This is just an amazing podcast. Quality, top tier entertainment. Everything from audio quality to topics to Andrew and Marques’s chemistry is jsut 👏👏👌👌. If you’re a hard core fan of the MKBHD channel you’re most likely gonna eat this up. I have two problems though and that is a) there are a lot of ads but I think the quality of the actual podcast itself outweighs it and b) there isn’t enough 😂!!! Honestly though best tech podcast right now and I love it!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Keep it up, Marques and Andrew!!! 👌👌👌👌

The effort is here!!
A well into the weeds of tech while the love of tech is evident. The enthusiasm and effort is shown in MKBHD’S work. They strive to keep the listener involved in the podcast even though there is a video version as well. I drive for hours down the road as a trucker listening to them and the hours of driving just fade away.

I hope the rating will change
This is not the podcast we should expect from the king of high quality production. I’ve listened to every episode so far and I'll continue to listen in hopes that things improve. The audio quality is still relatively poor. The hosts have made enough blatantly false claims and awkward points that they clearly aren’t researching the material thoroughly. The adverts are horrendous. Who in their right mind decides to not match the audio levels on them? Who could have possibly thought that having random weird people start speaking in the middle of the advertisements was a good idea? I hope they pay more attention to detail in the future. It’s a podcast, so us viewers are only focused on what we hear and what it sounds like. Revisit about a year later: This podcast is still often shockingly uninformed. Whether it’s simply that the hosts need to spend more time on their research or what, I don’t know.

Ads, ads, and more ads
The content of this podcast is good, but the shift to creating a video form of this podcast has kinda hurt the audio version. They regularly bring something in to talk about it and if you’re listening, you can’t see it. So it’s confusing what’s going on sometimes. There’s also more filler to pad out a video length or make it more palatable to a video audience that’s kinda annoying for audio listeners. Finally, there are too many ads. I have to skip 2:30 of ads at the top of the podcast just to get to the intro! That’s ridiculous! And there are many 3 minute ad segments sprinkled throughout.

Needs more energy
Really needs a third guest, or someone with just more energy. Both hosts are very stable speakers that are missing chemistry (ie. Dieter on the Vergecast, Linus on WAN Show). Just feels boring like they’re reading the news and giving really generic obvious opinions. Production on accompanying videos is great. I just find Vergecast to give profoundly better insights on tech, but MKBHD in general gives vanilla opinions on the video side whereas SnazzyLabs & Dave2D are more insightful. Podcasts should be the front for very unique behind the scenes insights, not generic news that works fine for videos.

I listen to (almost) every episode
This is one of my favorite tech podcasts and I listen to (almost) every episode. I’ve done so since the beginning. I like that the show provides an expanded, deeper view of what Marques thinks about current products, as well as the companies behind them and related issues. Marques has earned my trust on tech issues (though I don’t always agree with him) over the years and this provides me more insight into his point of view. Whether reviewing products, thinking about the future, or sharing current events from the world of tech, I learn new things while listening. It’s an outstanding podcast! Two things to consider: (1) Overall, I like the banter back-and-forth banter between Marques and Andrew. In my mind, the show really should focus on what Marques thinks and his point of view, and this sometimes gets lost when they get off on tangents. I would recommend taking a careful listen to how many times Marques and Andrew (especially) interrupt or speak over the other and try to minimize this as much as possible. The interruptions/speaking over each other is annoying. Consider something like the 7 Norms of Collaboration to help drive dialogue as opposed to only discussion. (2) More recently, I can’t really tell what’s happening with the direction of the podcast when deeper dive episodes like The Rise and Fall of Boosted Boards are included. I couldn’t finish listening to this episode and found it frustrating. The topic was fine, but the guests didn’t appeal to me and it seemed like this was an attempt at a new format without providing me (the listener) with any context or rationale. If this style or guests are on future episodes, I would probably prefer it be a completely different podcast. * The April 30 Neil DeGrasse Tyson episode may just be my favorite podcast episode of all time!

All about the money
When I first found out MKBHD was getting into podcasting I assumed it would be great and he was mostly doing it due to his passion for all things tech. However, after listening to the 4th podcast, it’s clear he only got into the space for more money. I don’t blame him I guess but listening to 4 two-three minutes adds through the 40-60 minute podcast is getting a bit ridiculous imo. I try to not care much cause they are skip-able but I am driving 99%.

No other podcast I listen to have 5 minute ad breaks. Like yeah you have to get paid but why is there a 5 minute ad break in the middle of an episode. I love Marques on his YouTube channel and on this podcast. Andrew is a good right hand man who has good opinions and complements Marques very well. They are they are very informative and entertaining at times. The reason I only gave it four stars is because there are way too many commercials and even though I can skip them they are excessive. Maybe a Patreon level to eliminate ads? Nonetheless they are doing a great job and highly recommend it for anyone was Intertech or cars for that matter, which I am not.

I am the biggest MKBHD fan and I’m all for a podcast by him. But man these ads ain’t it. Im ok with podcasts having sponsorships or a short ad break but in this there’s like 10 ads every 5 minutes. This isn’t the mkbhd quality I was expecting. Also, Andrew has a soft voice and I can barely hear anything he says

It would be nice if Marques didn’t have to voice the ads himself. Although I’m sure that ads are necessary for most any podcast to be able to stay afloat, it’s pretty hypocritical of Marques to do the ads the way he does after talking in a video about how he didn’t like that celebrities would endorse products to get more sales.

As a tech enthusiast I enjoy the podcast, but I think it can have better content. I would cut the time talking about the videos already published on the channel. With Marques influence I’m sure he can have access to CEO’s and important figures of the tech space. On tech side, the edit and mix could use some improvement, and Andrew can use some coaching on how to project his voice better when speaking.

Ads, co-host voice annoying and type of content
First of all, there's too many Ads in this show every episode, the voice of andrew sounds bad, he sounds like he's not putting much effort to talk and speak clearly, i found his voice and accent annoying, and at last, the type of content is not what i hoped was going to be, like more informative and useful rather than background talks about their videos that we already seen, at least in my opinion there's no need to talk about something that youknow people already saw if they're listening to this show, i wish you would do something more like Lew Later is doing with his podcast, more entertaining and at the same time very very useful with day to day real news about tech and the world in general!, not something where you just interview with influencers doing random stuff, but the guys from the tech corporations like apple, one plus, etc, those are good and useful interviews because we get an opinion from the real insiders, well, i leave this at your consideration if you happen to read iTunes Reviews anyways!😆 Good luck!🍀👍🏼

I previously wrote a review stating that I love the show but five minutes of ads before every episode was way too much. Thankfully, this no longer seems to happen. Two(ish) minutes to start is much better. It’s easier to enjoy the actual content of the show now. Definitely recommended.

If the iPhone Max's software can't accurately and appealingly capture your skin, and other darker complexions accurately, in environments that it would be normally photographed then it doesn't deserve to win. Theres a reason Marques was trending on twitter for his birthday. He’s somehow super chill and relatable while also filling almost every second of his content with substantive material. Even the quarantine content is thoughtful and helpful for those who live in the country that still hasn’t quite figured out masks yet.

Great...for the right type of person.
I personally love this podcast. The sound quality is amazing. I make my own podcast episodes as well, and though the audio quality on my original files are all great, the processing makes it so much worse, so I can say from experience that what Marques has done with sound quality is phenomenal. Also some very interesting topics. The Waveform podcast is essentially just like Marques’s YouTube Channel, but it is a very different take on tech. I’d say someone who is not interested by tech would not enjoy this very much, but for the tech community, it is perfect. Also, if you are reading these reviews to see if you would like this podcast or not, I recommend that you should not just instantly decide not to listen to it because of the interviews with Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerburg. I’ve seen too many reviews saying to Marques that he should have done more research on these people before putting them on the podcast. However, Marques actually went to a gifted school and consistently shows in his podcast episodes and YouTube videos that he knows his stuff. He is smart enough to know that Zuckerburg was allegedly attempting to steal land from Hawaii to build a mansion, and that Bill Gates owns several prisons. I think that his aim here was really to treat Zuckerburg and Gates as people, not garbage billionaires, which I mostly agree with, but I do not judge people on their mistakes.

I really enjoy listening to this podcast. Nice to just have some casual tech talk and I enjoy hearing about your guy’s shoots. I wasn’t a huge fan of bringing Zuckerberg on; of all major figures in tech, I think he’s possibly the most polarizing and selfish. Talking about VR right after they backtracked on past promises to never require a Facebook account to log into your oculus and not asking him about that seemed weak. However his input on what he hopes VR could be in the future was interesting. Love all the other interviews though! The most recent with the Microsoft exec was super interesting. Overall really like it, thanks for increasing the frequency!

The content is good, for the most part. I love MKBHD’s YouTube content and the ads there are minimal and filtered to be relevant or high quality. But on his podcast, he just puts in whatever ads he can find. It varies on just how many there are but I counted one episode as having nearly 15 minutes of ads. Why does he treat his podcast audience differently? Lost a bit of respect for him because of this.

This is a great tech podcast. Excellent content from an excellent creator. But, it baffles me that MKBHD is very conscious about the amount of ads on his YouTube channel, and then on the podcast there can be upwards of 4-5 minute ad breaks, sometimes at the very beginning of an episode. I don’t know if it’s whatever marketing company they are partnered with, but the ads are out of control.

Marques!! Day 1 listener here!! Absolutely love the podcast. Great topics, great guests, great discussions!! But during this last episode when I felt like I listened to more ads than I did your actual voice I was severely turned off. I get that you’ll run ads for sponsors you belive in, everyone I heard about sounds excellent and I even use some of them like expressvpn and sandisk, but having SOOOO MANY ads all over the podcast is a real turnoff. I would even be inclined to pay just to have an AD free listening experience.

Great podcast but way too much BS
If you want a podcast by tech enthusiasts, then try this. Very little on the technical details, but they do cover flaws of a product, and are always forward looking. The interviews are good when they feel unscripted. The insight into the production behind the videos is pretty good. Now the BS Half the ads are about pseudoscience body hacking or about how VPN are a foolproof privacy. Also anytime Facebook’s products comes up they become mouthpieces of Facebook’s ideology. So if you are concerned about growing monopolies, right-to-repair, internet privacy, or product longevity. SORRY that’s not covered here.

MKBHD quality podcast style
I've been watching MKBHD for years now, and when he teased and announced that he was making a podcast I was excited we got to see more of his thoughts of what was happening not only in the tech community but also behind the scenes, it's a fun listen and I always enjoy waiting the 2 weeks for the next podcast episode, they strive for perfection and the same quality just like in his videos and they nail it! I enjoy the commentary from both Andrew and Marques both are very detailed especially when they discuss about videos they make and even previous podcast episodes and that kind of detail is amazing since not all of us will notice that unless mentioned. When it comes to talking tech I recommend them a lot even for the non-techies.

I am hooked! I started to listen to these while delivering. They are one of the most interesting podcasts I have ever listened to. I love MKBHD’s videos, however, I think his podcasts are even better. I listen to these for hours straight and never get bored. The most recent one with Craig from Apple was fascinating. Marques’s co-host, Andrew, is a great addition to the show. Hopefully the podcast sticks around for awhile.

If you want the best tech vids and podcast ever look no further, it is right here. However, I don’t think the podcast is quite as good as the vids. Its still MKBHD and its still high quality, but its more dry than is normal content. Side note, I don’t get the crap everyone is giving him about the ads. Everyones gotta make money, and you can skip them. Its not to big of a deal.

I love MKBHD the YouTube channel and the podcast. I understand the reason for the ads in the podcast obviously that’s how he earns his living. However, I wish he would put the ads at the beginning or end of the podcast. The ads are in the middle and sometimes multiple ad breaks during the podcast. While I love MKBHD I do wish the ads were just not as often. While writing this I do wonder if he or if Studio 71 decides where ads are in the podcast. Hopefully this is seen as just some constructive criticism.

Supposed to be about tech
Technology is supposed to make the world a better place. Here I am listening to the most recent episode and they get into a conversation about smoking meats and ham, products that literally cause untold suffering to billions of animals and also destroy the environment because of land and water use. They also occasionally advertise for large banks like Goldman Sachs during their ad breaks. This show is extremely unethical.

I love the podcast and all that you are doing, but I feel like there a few things that could engage viewers more actively. The first thing might be to put the ads at the beginning. I understand that there are ad breaks so you can take a break, but ad breaks take me right out of the podcast. Another thing I might ad is that the podcast feels a little bit too structured. One of the things that I enjoy about podcasts is even though they are structured, they try to hide it and make a flowing conversation. Other than that, great podcast. I love to hear about tech and cameras (I’m in film school). Keep it up!

Lack of topic diversity
It’s very hard to listen to a conversation about say the host reviewing a tech event and discussing how it was poorly organized for 30 minutes. It’s pretty ironic that a large portion of these podcasts is about the hardware used to record the podcasts. And sure if your making a podcast for comedy, politics, science and other topics you should use quality hardware but don’t make the podcast to discuss the hardware that’s used to create the podcast. I think topics can be discussed that fit into the bigger picture of technology implantation and the future of it. Think about it would it be interesting to go back say in five years from now and listen to one of these podcasts or would it appear trivial that so much focus is put on minor topics for so long. And I hope I don’t sound to negative, I’m just trying to get my message through, again I love the informative quality reviews that MKBHD puts on YouTube. but I think the podcasts topics are hyper focused and dragged out for so long on such small products and stuff.

Big fan of MKBHD but not of this podcast
Had to stop listening because of the amount of false information. I at first thought it was because they are new, but they continue to give false information. If they talk about cars and it’s anything but Tesla, than it is probably wrong and untrue. For example, when speaking about the towing capacity of the F150 they stated it was 7,000 pounds when it is 13,000. In this week’s episode Andrew stated that Subaru quit making the hybrid Crosstrek when in reality they just released a new plugin hybrid Crosstrek. The podcast makes me trust the video reviews less.

Really great Tech podcast with a well known Geek
As a Tech Youtuber myself ( Minimal Nerd Channel ), I'm always on the lookout for interesting Tech podcasts to listen to while driving etc. Waveform is by far my favorite alongside the Vergecast and gives you the feel of behind the scenes of an MKBHD video or how they do things, also stuff you would never learn about in the videos like the prank Linus pulled on Marques etc. I like this podcast format more than Lewlater ( I still listen to it ) since Lew sometimes gets off the rail and chatting about random stuff etc. I like podcasts that are informative but not too broad that you end up skipping.

Man, it’s a really good initiative, but just listen you guys without any music at background it’s almost disturbing. Please put some soundtrack during the show, while you’re talking. The ambience will take another level. Congrats for the great show.

My only complaint is I want more. Both of the hosts who make amazing videos already, have done a great job with this podcast. The music is catchy, the flow is always so interesting. While the ads are a bit long, I love the extremely laid back yet super professional production of the show. I’m a frequent listener of the wan show. And while that show gets deeply into the tech. It’s awesome just to listen to the commentary that you too put out. Keep it up, I’m hungry for more. Faithful waveform listener.

It’s refreshing to enjoy tech again
Back in 2008-2012, I used to love reading tech blogs - Gizmodo, CNET, lifehacker, etc. It was all so good and positive. Then things took a dark turn and so much tech news began to get political and negative. I felt like I was losing a fun source of entertainment every time I log onto Gizmodo and see 10 posts about global warming and nothing about new gadgets. I recently found MBKHD on Youtube and loved his positive and upbeat perspective of tech… he brings me back to the days when tech news was fun. I am not a big fan of the YouTube platform so getting to listen to MBKHD on a podcast was super exciting for me these past few weeks. Looking forward to many, many more episodes!

Very Enjoyable
I listen to podcast at my morning job working in the warehouse and sticking the floors. Have to be at work early in the morning. Tech is something I’ve always been into and when I stopped working AT&T after three years of being in phones, I stopped Own research after a year or so. I follow MBKHD on YouTube so of course I wanted to see what the podcast would be like and it’s really enjoyable especially since it’s free and plays with my screen off and uses minimum Power from my iPhone X. I look forward to his and MAD ABOUT MOVIES podcast to get me through my shift. And I’m inspired to take my YouTube channel of anime and comic con to podcast as well ( yt: CINEMA CITIZENS ). Love the podcast and loved this episode especially. I think Quinn was the perfect first guest for the podcast because you’re both really knowledgeable about the the things you talk about. It’s not just a surface-level knowledge, you can really get in the weeds and that’s exactly the point of a podcast. Would have liked to see (hear?) Quinn’s levels bumped up a bit more, so he was the same volume as Marques and Andrew.

If you are already watching MKBHD videos religiously like I am then this podcast is perfect for you. It gives a more in depth review on already existing videos with the added fun and liveliness. If you are not watching MKBHD videos the podcast might not be as enjoyable but it still gives great points and thoughts on tech regardless.

Great Podcast with Suggestions
Great podcast guys. I’ve been watching you for quite sometime now and I like this format because it allows you to just talk tech informally without a filter. Just a suggestion for you guys, I think it would be a good idea to get all of your sponsor stuff out of the way in the beginning and have the podcast be uninterrupted. Sometimes I think it disrupts the flow. Other than that I think you guys are doing a great job and keep up the work!

Love this! One point of concern
I absolutely love MKBHD and have for a long time. Been following your YouTube growth for many years. I love the branch out into podcasts. It actually got me started on them. I’ve never been into them before but you have me hooked and I’ve been finding some real good stuff. I do have one thing I wish you would do. I’ve always liked that Marques was very good with his language. I have many people I send video links to from you to show off new tech and whatnot and I can pretty much know they won’t hear any swearing and get offended by it. However, the co-host on this podcast, Andrew, tends to swear more than I like to hear. I’m sure others would appreciate this as well. Keep MKBHD family friendly. Thank you!

A great start!
I’ve followed MKBHD in YouTube for close to 3 years now and I can say your team is easily the gold standard for YouTube video making. You’ve taken great care in presentation of your videos and 9/10 times you do succeed in it. Now coming to the podcast, the technical quality of it has already been taken care of with the advanced mics you’ve got and a dedicated space for podcasts in your 2020 studio. Both content and presentation are king and queen of videos. But I believe only content is both the king and queen for podcasts. You guys cover wide range of topics and it’s very interesting most of the times. Sometimes it becomes prolonged or repetitive. I understand it’s very early days and you guys are still figuring out lot of things. But I feel the podcast should be entirely standalone and not an extension of the videos you make for YouTube. Make more segments to manage time well. Choose exclusive topics just for the podcast which cannot be covered in the video time space. Basically, I want this podcast to earn a name for itself! Good luck. I’m sure you guys will figure it out better than me. Looking forward to more awesome content.

About the ads
Firstly, I want to say that I loove the podcast. I'm not ablet to watch videos at my job so podcasts are my go to. My only gripe is the ads. Fun to hear MKBHD break things down in a longer audio format and go deeper. Definitely needs ads that are more based on ‘I used this and highly recommend’ vs ‘here’s a script I’m reading.’ Every other week is too infrequent. I think even doing something like a long episode every other week and then a quick touch base on the off week would help me stay more connected, and I’d know to watch out for waveform every Friday.

It’s great 👍🏻. Love Marques’s YouTube channel, he gives great info on the latest tech and his personal opinion. I listened to the first episode thinking that I might like it and it’s pretty good. He covers all of the small but important specs on the newest pieces of tech. I really enjoy it, but I wish that episodes came out more than just once every 2 weeks. Still great though👌
