Love it
Very knowledgeable and has caused me to go back and listen to bands I forgot about or was never cool enough to know about. My only complaint is she interrupts the guests a lot

A bit obnoxious view of the 80’s
As much as I am obsessed with 80’s music still, this was sometimes hard to sit through. The host is really obnoxious trying to shove her music knowledge, opinions and name dropping down your throat and cutting off her cohost and the guests at times. The cohost, John Hughes, has a much more enjoyable personality and is easier to listen to.

Clearing the Cobwebs of my mind
Great podcast. Super knowledgeable and dives deep into the 80s music library. I mean, OXO?!?! I haven’t thought about Whirly girl since I was 10 and listening to my K-Tel LP Dancing Madness which also introduced me to Sparks “Cool Places”. Great job. Keep ‘ em coming.

Fine, I Guess
Fun for the most part, but far too often the hosts come off as new wave kids who are clearly pretentious enough to think that their taste in music is/was better than everyone else’s and the conversation goes from interesting to judgmental very quickly. I’m all for a discussion of new wave, but this feels like a podcast centered around a very specific subsection of the 80s and its music culture (I swear, if I never hear another discussion of Duran Duran again I’ll be happy, despite my love for the band) and it feels very lacking in following through on its thesis statement of discussing the decade as a whole.

Love the Pod - Avoids the a great 80s cliche
Love listening to the podcast as it is almost identical to what my 80s experience was. Thanks for staying away from all the 89s cliches and bringing the insights as I remember. Keep up the great work!

The GenX tonic we need!
This podcast brings back all the tracks, looks and memories that make me remember how cool it was to grow up in the 80’s. The Madonna episode in particular is my safe space!

For 80s obsessives!
A fun pod focused on some of the more overlooked music of the decade. Right up my alley! Can’t wait to hear more.
