Simply the greatest most fun football podcast that has or will ever exist. Everyone is very smart, funny and good looking, especially Joe. Check out their YouTube channel.

Carbon Footprint?
Did I actually just hear you complaining about the US/Canada/Mexico World Cup because of the carbon footprint? Even by your standards that has to be a piss take.

This Capitalist System We Live In
Joe, there’s plenty of places you could live if you truly want out of this capitalist system that the rest of the world can’t immigrate to fast enough. Just think at 2:00 on a Sunday Instead of having the luxury of wondering who you are you could be thinking about which bread line you’ll be standing in tomorrow as you gaze out the window of you 300sf pale yellow building which faces an adjacent pale yellow building. The Athletic is a social experiment gone out of whack and you clowns are lemmings

Needs to refocus
This pod needs to be better. One or two off-topic, irrelevant tangents are acceptable to hear every few pods but every episode can not be a conversational stumble through general footballing topics with very little genuine analysis. This pod lacks focus.

Best Football Pod
I’ve been looking for a Football podcast that suits me for ages- thankfully found it here. Great mix of personality with in-depth conversation about tactics, players, coaching, etc.

Pompous
If you’re into pompous, arrogant and pretentious football talk, this is the show for you. The most unbearable of the group is Devine who’s attempts at humor are contemptuous and haughty, despite his clear ignorance. Their analysis is highly presumptuous and so often inaccurate, but they deliver it with such arrogance that you would think they’ve achieved a doctorate in football… If you are relying on podcasts to keep you up to date and receive some good data and analysis, I recommend finding a more honest source.

Good football podcast
Tifo or as I call it “How long can a group of Spurs fans pretend West Ham aren’t absolutely massive” is a terrific podcast. Worth adding to your rotation!

As an American, I give this 5 stars
I found the TIFO podcast via their YouTube, which is also great. They provide smart and often funny insight into football that I enjoy. However, I have no idea what Joe Devine looks like. In my head, he’s a cross of David Tennant and the character Bill Nighy plays in “Love Actually”. Anyway, keep up the good work.

Bring Joe Back
Dear Tifo, I don’t care if you have to tie him to a desk, lock him up or get him addicted to heroine and become his dealer, he NEEDS to be on the pod!!! Please stop giving him holidays 🤬🤬🤬🤬. No offence to Seb and Alex, I only listen for Joe (and JJ to a degree). SO DONT LET HIM MISS A PODCAST. With Urgency, A passionate Joe Devine listener

Cheeky, Hysterical, Informative
I listen to too many football podcasts, and the most enjoyable podcasts are elevated by the relationship of the hosts. This podcast makes me laugh more than any others. Seb and Alex are a perfect foil to Joe’s highly enjoyable and absurd comments. Sheer football pleasure is derived from these episodes.

Good soccer discussion in spite of themselves
Really solid podcast, especially their sensible transfers series. Not a podcast that you’d come to for match highlights/reactions, but they do a good job of putting events/games in a larger context. They tend to keep things light and will occasionally take some weird/funny detours which I usually like. The podcast is definitely has a slow pace to it, it’s much better if you listen to it at 1.5x for some reason.

Come for the football stay for the creepy tall sex museum enthusiast
Joe has really done something marvelous here. If you listen to earlier episodes he has his serious narrator voice. I love what it has become. It’s an intelligent, interesting, and aware football pod that has introduced me to so many great elements of the game. It’s probably my favourite pod out there right now. Long live Joe Alex Seb.

Easily my favorite objective football analysis pod
I literally giggle (quietly, to myself) when I see a new pod alert in my library for Tifo. First found them on YouTube where they have EXCELLENT mini-documentaries on anything football. The variety of seemingly niche or boring topics are made exciting and interesting by the detailed research and various experts who are interviewed or who produce the content. From the Barrowcelona pod to the history (of almost anything football) I dare any football fan to listen and not come away having learned something. You might not turn into a Tifo junkie like me, but you’ll at least enjoy the taste.

Game Changing
I’m a newer player to the game of football and have been trying to make up for that gap to become the kind of player I know I can be, and honestly everything you guys have produced, on the YouTube channel, and on here, has made me love the beautiful game more and more. Listening to your material has changed the way I watch the game as a whole, and has allowed me to focus my drive to improve by leaving me with a clear and simple place to learn more material. You guys deserve far more praise than you get, and I hope that you enjoy producing just as much as I and many others enjoy watching your content. With much appreciation: thank you.

Never Miss an Episode or Video
Love the content here and on YouTube. Would you guys mind doing a deep dive into RB Leipzig? I’d like to get an understanding of how the city/supporters reacted to the change in name, coolers, shield, etc. And how the club won them over through their performance on the pitch. Also, how did their youth academy system become so good? Selfish request I know, but what else have I got to do now. Again, I appreciate the hard work and great content you guys produce. Stay safe.

This is a unique football podcast
I quite like the content and Joe’s voice is so soothing, that it puts me to sleep quite easily 😉. Seriously good content, although Alex gets too pedantic and needs some of Joe’s tomfoolery to make this fun. P.S. no one asks for a review or subscribe in a more disinterested/unserious way that Joe. It is almost like it is an imposition on him.

3.75 - Frequently brilliant, occasionally frustrating - the Pogba of podcasts
Alex and Joe are two of the best hosts of a football podcast you could possibly ask for. Their banter is quick and witty, their observations are thought provoking (food for all those armchair pundits who think they know everything there is to know about football), and together they make for some brilliant listening. Some of their episodes are absolutely magnificent. Their mid and end of season reviews for 2017/2018, their review of the top four Championship clubs toward the end of 2017/2018, and some of their interviews are top notch. I listened to their World Cup analyses throughout the tournament and shared them with every person I knew. They made the World Cup even more enjoyable than it already was. That was them at their finest and I would recommend anyone to go back and listen to that whole series. That being said, they struggle for consistency in both publication of their cast as well as the topics that they cover. In one of their more recent casts they set out to publish weekly, covering the Premier League matches from the week prior (or at least interesting points from that week’s round of matches). They subsequently missed multiple match days, and of their last four podcasts, a least three spent significant portions covering the same happenings at Southampton and Manchester United. Yes, we know they are your favorite clubs, but the horse is already dead so you don’t need to continue beating it. It seems that they have forgotten that there are 18 other teams in the league! My hope is that if they are really stretched so thin that they don’t feel they can keep up with a weekly podcast, then they begin to set the expectations accordingly. Do not announce one thing and then miss your targets on day one. How would that be if a new manager of a floundering club announced that he was certain they would win their next game, only to unsurprisingly lose? The fans would be tearing their hair out. That’s where I’m at now. I hope you find a format that you can manage where you still have fun producing the podcast, while allowing fans to enjoy listening to it. Be creative. Cover all the teams equally. Or else I’m going to just have to give up and listen to horrible recordings of MNF instead. 😆

A Football Intellectual
Joe Devine is a very talented and articulate analyzer. Many pundits are crass and make their living on personal attacks and vulgarities. On the contrary, when I play this podcast in my office people think I'm listening to NPR. It would be awesome if the show went more on detail about player contracts, specifics on release clauses, bonuses, wages and fines. How do agents and team representatives negotiate these clauses? If they were to bring current or former team representatives to share their stories would be pretty captivating. Also, if we were to have a behind the scenes look to how football teams are managed, how does a Southampton scout find talent and the processes behind yearly FIFA policy and rule changes.

Really enjoy the content, the producers manage to summarize the tactics of teams in certain eras of football without beating their arguments to death with the 20 minute long diatribes that many in this niche fall into. They are thorough and well reasoned. Their episodes aren't posted every week, but their high quality is worth the wait.

- Arsenal march on, Chelsea sign on and Everton move onJoe Devine, JJ Bull and Jon Mackenzie are here to talk about some football. Arsenal continued their best ever start to a top flight season with a 3-2 win over Manchester United. But are Mikel Arteta's touchline antics a marginal gain or a sign of the moral failure of the entire football club? Chelsea versus Liverpool was not that interesting. So instead we spoke about Chelsea's new lengthy contracts. Are they an unusual outlier or a presage of things to come? We move on to a win for West Ham in Frank Lampard's last game as Everton manager. Did we record before he was sacked? Of course we did. There was also an inexplicable amount of discussion about cows in this episode. The Tifo football podcast is presented by Joe Devine and produced by Steve Hankey.0 comments0
- The day (weekend) of derbiesJoe Devine, JJ Bull and Jon Mackenzie are here to talk about some football. Events in London and Manchester are the first focus for the fellas in this episode. We start with league leaders Arsenal. Is the title theirs to lose now? The Gunners beat North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur. For Spurs, this defeat raises many, many questions. Moving on to Manchester, a win for United over City continued the Ten Hagian revolution for the Red Devils. But are they in the title mix now too? Liverpool lost again, this time against a brilliant Brighton who have taken to DeZerbi’s methods like a seagull to a bag of chips. Plus, we explore the Premier League’s bottom. Relegation to be precise. At least eight teams are in the mix at our count. But who will drop out by season’s end? Finally, a word or two is said about Napoli, who sit imperiously atop Serie A with a nine point lead having just put five past Juventus. Bellissima. The Tifo football podcast is presented by Joe Devine and produced by Steve Hankey.0 comments0
- We’re Back Baby!Joe Devine, JJ Bull and Jon Mackenzie are here to talk about some football. For the first show of 2023 the boys start, unexpectedly, with Southampton. The Athletic’s Southampton reporter Jacob Tanswell joins us to give all of the insight. Will Southampton sink without a trace on the South Coast? Is the new owner's long term plan working? Manchester United have a 100% winning record since the post World Cup, and at the time of recording before anyone goes near the comments in like five weeks time. Has Erik Ten Hag started to get the fear back into the Red Devils? And would a big man up top make them even better? Plus, Chelsea are facing an uncomfortable transition from their short term habits to longer term planning. But will they hold their nerve and keep Graham Potter? Finally, Haaland is great, but are Manchester City better without him? This is discussed and quickly dismissed, but it’s a good ol’ chat. The Tifo Football Podcast is presented by Joe Devine and produced by Steve Hankey.0 comments0
