Disappointing drop in quality
What has happened to this show? Tuned in to the latest episode, which can be roughly summarized as “Matt Farrah tells drivers concerned about EV range that he knows their needs better than they do, and then rants at his co-host about the semantics of a question he asked.” Used to like these guys, but lately it just seems like a venue for Farrah to engage in egotistical diatribes.

Don’t Ask Questions
Was listening to the pod today and was shocked to see how rude you were about the guy asking would you rather buy a z06 or zr1. You blew it way out of proportion, you should of just skipped the question or just answered, not wined about how it wasn’t the correct format for you to answer. Zach was right in this situation, hopefully you treat you fans a little better because without them you’d be no-one.

The show is at its best when Matt talks cars and his experiences with all he has driven. The show is at its worst when he talks over his guests and rarely lets them finish a story… also it’s annoying the way he laughs a bit too long at his own jokes.

Elon Musk (We get it already)
Even though Musk lives rent-free in Farah’s head he’s a progressive man of the people who’s super-relatable because who doesn’t own Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Porsches? I guess acknowledging your privilege and and saying the “right “ thing is enough without having to actually make a difference. Also, maybe Zach could have an original opinion for once instead of agreeing and just adding to whatever Matt says, he’s annoying at this point. I do like their coverage on cars though

Enjoyable podcast that has some good content. When it veers into politics, which seems increasingly often, I stop and find something else. Can’t we have one thing these days that doesn’t intermingle politics?

Always A Great Listen
I don’t think I have ever listened to an episode of The Smoking Tire podcast and walked away feeling like it wasn’t worth my time. No matter what genre of guest appears on the show Matt always strikes good and interesting conversation. Zach does a really good job producing and keeping the podcast feeling put together, as well as being a great part of the conversation. Even if you aren’t into cars I recommend giving this podcast a listen, especially when there is a guest on. I think half the reason this podcast is such a good listen is Matt’s backbone, I never hear him spewing b.s. or swaying his opinion from what he actually believes, definitely makes me confident in what I hear on the show. All in all a great and entertaining listen worth your time.

Too much political talk
I used to listen to this show as the episodes came out and really enjoyed it. But lately it’s just gotten more and more political complaining. I come here to hear about cars and funny stories, not about how much he hates whatever side he’s not on. I know my opinion isn’t going to change a thing at all but I hope these car podcasts will get back to what we all come here for which is car reviews and stories about them. Shows like everyday driver and tfl stick to what they know which is what makes them such great shows.

Good show needs to stay on topic
I really like the show. I just found the podcast and I really like it, but I wish Matt would stay on topic and I get onto stupid controversial topics like politics or Twitter lol. Just talk about cars. If you don’t like Tesla trash the company but when he starts talking about controversial topics that have nothing to do with cars it turns me off from the Show. When he talks about cars I’m very intrigued and love it. When he starts talking about politics or controversial subjects I turn it off.

Been a listener for a couple years and find the show to be funny and informative, but like everyone else says — Matt can go big on politics sometimes and it’s annoying. He is kind of a douche and talks over people but that’s part of the charm and it’s honestly entertaining. Other than that, good show and absolutely love the people they have on.

Favorite podcast
It’s pretty much perfectly organized. No annoying “transitions”, all the sponsorship is in bathe beginning of the show, the conversations usually have nice flow, and the hosts + guests typically stay on topic. The Tesla criticisms might sound heated at first, but they end up being valid and even funny. I have yet to find another podcast that can do all those things and keep my attention from start to finish.

Best Car Podcast
This has to be one of the best car podcasts out there. The guests are always knowledgable and Matt and Zach have a way of making the conversation flow and keep the guests talking. There are so many amazing guests that I cannot even pick a favorite, but you owe it to yourself to check out some of the Doug DeMuro and Freddy Hernandez (Tavarish) shows to get a taste of the behind the scenes for these popular YouTube content creators. Then there are the crew shows, which go in depth into a variety of topics and are a perfect companion to the SmokingTire YouTube car reviews. Props to Matt and Zach for such an awesome podcast, as this is not easy, but each episode reminds me why I love this show!

If you’re into social justice politics, promoting useless vaccine info, hating on Elon Musk & Tesla, then this is your podcast. However, if the host Matt Farah left all of that out, it probably would be a 5 star podcast in my opinion. He is knowledge about cars in general, because he grew up as a rich kid and had access to many things the average person couldn’t.

850 miles of commuting/week made fun
Im a welder/mechanic at a power plant in Baltimore, but live near Gettysburg, Pa. I drive 850 miles a week commuting to work in my heavily modified mk5 vw jetta. While i responsibly fly up and down the freeway to and from work i listen to Matt and Zack talk cars, modifications, and everyday hardships and pleasures in between. They may talk about “high end” cars i cant afford but i just love listening. I also enjoy the youtube content that i throw on my tv in my home shop while i do paint, mechanical, and welding side jobs to make the hard work and long days more enjoyable. Keep it up you guys, all the content is much appreciated!!!!

My Favorite Podcast
Absolutely love Matt and Zack. I’ve been listening to the show for 2.5 years now and love going back to listen to some of the old gems. Best part about the podcast is Matt has an awesome wealth of knowledge when it comes to autos but whenever he opens his mouth about anything else, especially politics, sounds like a stoner tankie. Matt and Zack along with all of the regular guests of the show/long time friends have entertained me on this Podcast and parallel video channels since I started going to college in 2009. This show is my perfect form of entertainment. I’m not word savvy enough to explain why, it just is. I’m happy to hear of the Patreon subscription news, and to have an easy and low-key way to support the content that’s supported me for so long. In my household, instead of Saturday morning cartoons, we prefer to catch up on TST car reviews with our milk and cereal. Thank you!

Knowledgeable, Honest, Authentic and So Refreshing
Matt and Zach are top shelf. I’ve only discovered the podcast a year or so ago but have listened to every episode. They are deeply knowledgeable about the automotive landscape. And when they do not know something. They are honest about it. It’s so refreshing to hear someone say “I don’t know”. (You won’t hear on TST is “don’t quote me,” which is often followed by an ignorant comment. ) They have facts that they deliver well and they clearly articulate when they pivot to opinions. Theyhave don’t follow any party lines even though people throw them into a certain category. There party line is decency and respect. Yet they have values they believe in and are not going to simply dance around a issue. Which is so authentic and enjoyable to listen to.Truly it makes me more inclined to listen to a podcast when they stand for something. And even if I disagree. It doesn’t matter I and many offering desire for people to stand up for what they understand and believe in but to do it with decency and respect. Which Is something we desperately need more of in this world.

Show used to be credible
I used to love this show and the mostly unbiased reviews of cars no matter the brand etc, which in all fairness is a hard thing to do. I had to stop listening though because of the literal hate for anyone who was a republican or trump supporter. Why should that have anything to do with automotive reviews? The plain ignorant comments like, “republicans all beat their wives”, etc (and yes this is an actual quote from Matt, just have no place in a podcast about car performance and reviews. If you notice comments and hate towards the other side are almost always left wing sided on where the hate comes from. Can’t we just talk cars? In your candidate of choices own words and only complete sentence he’s successfully completed, “c’mon man”.

Long time car and racing enthusiast. This would be an interesting show if Farrah could keep politics out. We get slammed with leftism from news, music, entertainment, schools, I listen to podcasts to enjoy the subject not anti American politics jammed in my face. Narcism and lack of self awareness evident by slamming half the country that supports freedom and freedom of speech. Irony is Farrah enjoys exotic cars but supports leftism which is anti liberty, independence, self transportation all the things that automobiles represent. Leftists lust to put us in mass transportation along with 2 room apartments and week old bread and soup lines. Just ask the leader Bernie Sanders. I have unsubscribed.

I personally find it entertaining and his opinions are typically formed by experience, reading books or learning from those who he values their opinion. Keep it up Matt and Zack. Great show but too political in recent months
I always loved the Smoking Tire podcast but I unfortunately have stopped listening because of the political commentary. Matt has every right to feel the way that he feels and say it on his show. I don’t hold his views against him but unfortunately I am not extended the same courtesy as a listener. The political comments that are made are extremely polarizing and as a listener, I shouldn’t be made to feel like a bad person for feeling differently than the host. I listened to this show to get away from the real world and simply hear about cars, motorcycles, watches, and all kinds of fun interesting topics. Unfortunately, the political commentary means this show is not relaxing or fun to listen to anymore. I sincerely hope I can return to listening to this show at some point because these guy work hard and put on a great show in all other respects.

As I read some of these other reviews the question comes to mind. What did people expect by listening to this guy. He’s well off, been successful in building a channel podcast and starting his own businesses. He likes to name drop and gloat just like everyone else would. The only difference is we don’t have the connections or the stories or the money to back it. The nice thing about podcasts is there’s a bunch of them out there. I don’t agree with all of his opinions or points of view.Therefore I don’t listen to all of them. If you’re into cars or a car enthusiast you will like about 90% of his guests. He asks good questions and gets good interviews out of people.As I read some of these reviews I think people forget that you can disagree with somebody or not have the same point of you politically religiously and that’s OK. You can still listen to them and still enjoy their content.

Best Car Enthusiast Podcast Currently
Matt and Zack do a superb job of interviewing a wide range of diverse guests throughout the car industry as well as non auto industry guests. This makes things more interesting and they do a great job of keeping up with current news, answering listener questions and are overall very entertaining. I prefer listening to this podcast for current news and I find both of them very funny and I would highly recommend to any car enthusiast or anyone who is slightly interested in cars.

Long time fan
I’ve been a long time fan of TST, and especially the One Takes. The podcast is very entertaining, and definitely helps make my duties of being a full time Lyft driver, easier and entertaining. I find the information and knowledge I gain about cars to be very fun as well, rather than reading on google for hours about random car things, I can listen to Matt and Zack and their various guests give their honest opinions, and sometimes colorful opinions, about different cars. 10/10 will continue to listen to.

Great show
I got a promotion at work about 6 months and couldn’t find an apartment close to the new location. As a result I have a 136 mile daily commute. I quickly tired of the same music everyday and decided to give podcasts a shot. I listened to 2 of the newest TST podcasts and decided that I liked what I heard. So I started from the beginning of the 2018 podcasts and worked my way through until I became current. The Best Car Podcast
I listen to and have tried a whole bunch of the different automotive podcasts out there and TST is by far my favorite. Matt comes off extremely genuine and Zack brings the funny. Great guests, very good content and just a generally awesome podcast. Thanks guys, big fan! Also, should I buy a mustang or camaro?

Matt and Zach: Power Couple
As an automotive engineer I love this podcast. Listen to all the episodes on the commute in OH. While not always factually perfect, they do amazing work and should be appreciated more than they have been. I purchased a Fiesta ST (going out of brand from my employer) after listening to them and driving one. Zach is hilarious and wish he was on all episodes.

Long time follower, newish listener
I’ve been following Matt for years (~2013) I love his taste in cars for the most part but I’m not so interested in the 6 figure stuff. Zach brings a very humble down to earth aspect to the show that kind of counters Matt’s more brash side (good mix). Can’t wait to hear more, hopefully keeping it relative to us blue collar audience.

I’ve been listening for years and just now writing a review. I’ve listened to many podcasts over the years and what Matt and Zack have created is the greatest automotive podcast of them all! (Spike comes in at a good #2 when there is actual car talk) Keep up the great work guys, I’ll be listening for years to come.

Long time listener but...
Been listening to the show for a long time (3+ years). In the past few months the show has deteriorated quite a bit. The shows used to be 1.5hr+ and now struggle to get to an hour because Matt seems like he has better things to do than talk to his guests. In addition, recently heard a story of Matt blowing off a guest who had booked with him months in advance and travelled to LA specifically to be on the show... I appreciate the free content and will probably continue to listen but, I hope that Matt reevaluates the show soon.

Great guests, mediocre host
I really enjoy the stores from the guests but listening to Mr Farrah's attitude and constant cursing is getting old. He is so out of touch with reality and what it means to actually earn a living that it's ridiculous. Honestly I keep waiting for one of the guests to tell him to stop the cursing or they're out. I have no problem with cursing but when every sentence it off your mouth has at least one curse word, someone needs to reevaluate how the communicate.

Overall enjoy the content! Last episode has terrible audio though. Sounds the early episodes. Anytime there’s more than two people having a conversation it’s annoying just a bunch of talking over each other. Stick to one guest and quality audio and it’s been one of my new favorites.

Good guest but arrogance of host has become too much
This show has great guest from the automotive field. I have listened for years and the host has gone from humble, as far as a northeasterner living off daddy’s trust fund can be humble, too and self obsessed ERAC at Hollywood type. The show would be better if it wasn’t for his self promotion and political rants.

There’s something nice when you’re a fan of cars when Matt, zack, Tim and guests are jumping from cars to life stories and general bull. Richard Porters interview while quite long, was so good because it felt so organic and like both sides really enjoyed talking to each other. Also, I need an update on the prosciutto cave.

Too many shows
A big fan of the TST podcast, but finding there are too many episodes. When the conversation lapses into Gridlife, watches, the mustang, why Matt stopped doing one takes etc, it was informative and entertaining at one time, even if repeated. The problem is that with so many podcasts, it feels life versions of the stories are being told many times. Wish TST would get back to quality, not quantity, but understand this is about making "Da Money" as Zuckerman would say.

Matt Farah's The Smoking Tire Podcast is an excellent automotive show. It's very engaging because of how extremely active Matt is in the car world. He has driven most vehicles people tend to care about and is actively chasing the latest and greatest in automotive innovation. Frequent contributor to the show Zack Klapman is a lot of fun and adds just the right amount of comic relief in the middle of heavy discussion. The guests on this show are perfect, real car enthusiasts from Journalists to Stunt Drivers to Tuners to Collectors to Off Road Nuts. There is a guest for nearly any type of car passion. Conversations are fun and are productive enough for the listener to have plenty of new car knowledge by the end of each episode. This show works because all the people actually drive different cars constantly and they are consumed by everything that has an engine. Only downside is the audio quality is just minimal for a podcast of this tier. Definetly an emphasis on good discussion over production quality. Matt makes up for it with interesting personal updates in his crazy car world. This is the best car podcast. Everything you need, all in one place.

What a variety in style and conversation
I have been listening to these guys for some time now and each episode, somehow, has its own feel. Its great to hear from so many people in the car and prodution industry. Plus, it doesn't hurt that the guys are knowledgeable and funny withouth getting drab. There seems to be alittle bit for everyone here. One major disclaimer, the podcast, if there was a Extremely Explicit rating, these guys would fall into that catagory for some of the topics that come up. No compaints here. Great podcast and really genuine personalities.

Pretty interesting and funny and of course informative about all things cars, as soon as they started knocking truck drivers I unsubscribe. Sad really thinking that professional drivers are just a bunch of soda drinking dirt bags that will get replaced by autonomous vehicles. You can be brain dead, blind, and mentally ill and still drive a car because after all driving a car is easy compared to 80k pound 70 foot vehicle. They have to understand everything they have is cause of those so called dirt bags... and I mean everything. Interview a driver and see what they really deal with on the road day to day

Best podcast for the auto enthusiast
I'm a car guy. I've owned 5 rx7s since I was 18 until now which I'm 26, about to get my 6th. Racecar junkie. My buddy recommended this to me. Never heard of it. Since the first download I've been hooked. Everything is great, they talk about cars, they drink, they make you laugh, they update on car stuff. Love it. Keep it up guys, I eagerly wait for each episode. And if I can be on this podcast to drink and talk cars that would be awesome too.

I started out listening to this because I love cars and I used to watch Matt in Garage 419 years ago. After listening to nearly episode, I would continue to listen to this podcast even if they never talked about cars again. Don't get me wrong, everyone is knowledgeable and I love hearing their opinions on everything car related, but I find it just as interesting even when they get off topic. These are guys who love cars, like to have fun, don't take themselves too seriously, and most of all, are entertaining and very funny. I would recommend this to anyone who has even a slight interest in cars.

While the podcast is probably not what you'd expect, it's awesome. They talk about car stuff and they make it interesting to listen to. More often than not they don't even talk about cars but it's just as, if not more entertaining than the car topics. It's hilarious if you have the same sense of humor as them. The Onetake videos are great, but the conversations on this podcast are hugely entertaining and informative. I've been enjoying this podcast for a couple of years now, it's awesome for commutes, working out or just walking the dog. My Favorite Podcast
This podcast is great, as an avid gear head i just love to hear the stories of interesting cars Matt gets to drive in his one takes. Its really cool to see the video on youtube, but then hear his personal thoughts on the cars after he drives it. Also they are very good at asking questions to the listeners on facebook, before they have a guest on. That way you can post a question and then they will ask it for you live on the pdcast. Excellent podcast, and my number one show period!

Amazing Podcast
The team at the Smoking tire is amazing. I love their podcast. The balance of conversations between friends on their experiences and cars brings me back to the podcast. I love listening to the podcast when I am driving to school from the Valley to school on the 405 freeway. The traffic is terrible but the podcast makes the drive enjoyable. I support the podcast and tell my friends when I get the chance.

I really just can't listen to any other automotive podcast without getting bored out of my mind. I love the TST Podcast compared to all others. Matt runs the show, Thad(when he's there) has the crazy ideas, Zack is truly hilarious and Chris keeps the gears turning behind the scenes while providing tech talk every once in a while. Excellent balance and always entertaining.

I look forward to this podcast every week. It is smart, humorous and sounds like conversations one would have with his/her car buddies. The only unenjoyable moments are EVERY TIME the host/sound engineer Chris Hayes opens his mouth. He is an amazing know-it-all/yes man hybrid who's comments kill the flow of conversation without fail. He needs to be stopped!!

Every episode is a blast!
These guys have the best stories to tell, bar none. Matt, Chris, Zack, and the rotating guest list make the podcast a joy to listen to. Hilarious, automotive-nerdy, and light on ads (which are well-integrated, too), I can't recommend it enough. The episode "And on that Bombshell" with Richard Porter of Top Gear is a particular delight.

I love the podcast, have been listening since the beginning. I’m getting really tired of Chris Hayes bullsh!t talking, he’s so full of sh!t and overly confident. Also almost always wrong about stuff. It makes the podcast almost intolerable. I know he runs shout engine and helps to post the podcast and stuff, but he’s gotta go. Or speak less at least. Same for Hooniverse podcast.

Great except for one thing.
Great podcast. Been listening to it since the start. I've started to realize that within the past year or so producer chris Hayes is in most of these episodes including appearances on Hooniverse. I'm sure Chris is a nice and reasonable man but his personality-mostly his sarcasm and blunt/exaggerated options on certain topics is turning me off to the podcast. Again, nothing against anyone personally but it's hard to listen to a podcast when you are not 100% behind the personalities.

Informative & Hilarious
Balance. That's what this show brings. Too much of a good thing can be bad. A podcast that does nothing but reviews cars would be so ominous and droning that it would probably bore us to sleep. The Smoking Tire segues every single piece of information with an off the wall story or a hilarious anecdote that leaves the viewer with very little dead air, and more importantly, makes the airtime spent talking more enjoyable. The hosts are brutally honest, which is appreciated from a consumer standpoint. Yes, it may get laughs at the expense of belittling someone's hard work, but it also keeps the public from investing into sinkholes. I absolutely love this podcast, and I've yet to find a podcast on any subject that is as objective, funny, and authentic as this one is. Well done, Mr. Farah and crew.

Good conversations about the automotive world. However, the audio recording needs alot of improvement. sounds like the compressed it too much. So at normal volumes you can barely hear audio. I can increase the volume but then am exposed to random loud noises through the conversations.

Zero interest in continuing to listen to what amounts to a group of frat boys talking incessantly about topics, or personal problems, that have nothing to do with reviewing a car. An hour may contain 10 minutes of honest information, but that is often times tainted by either complaining like school girls, or vein boasting. If you have even a remote interest in cars , a good sense of humor, and an appreciation for bro talk intertwined with useful and useless information about cars you need this in your life. I will never have a boring car ride again as long as I can still listen to this podcast. I have listened to the "Truthiness" episode with Jack Baruth at least 6 times now and its still a great episode to listen too when I run out of new episodes.
