Amazing listen
Been tuning in to the RBP since late 2018. Great show with goofy and entertaining takes, lots of different skits and amazing guests. Have loved each cohost he’s had since I’ve started listening. Great listen for mental health awareness and how Ross has dealt with his issues.

Best Podcast
This is the best podcast. If you disagree, you’re wrong and there’s no way around it. These dudes have grown and gotten so great in the podcast game. Ross is hilarious and J-Bone has a tight little ***. It’s pretty neat. Go listen or I’ll be very angry with you. Gang, gang, gang.

Inconsistent
Extremely inconsistent with his podcast. He claims he’ll post 2 times a week, most likely you’ll get lucky if he posts 1 time each week. He’ll ask you to go support his Patreon but I have never seen a more unreliable business especially when you run off a views. His podcast that are free are 30-45 mins long but he asks for you to pay for a Patreon … as if that’ll be better.

Great when available to listen
I really love this show. The past year or so it has been a tad frustrating how inconsistent the show is with its releases. According to them, it is released every Monday and Wednesday. However, I feel like that is usually not the case. Episodes will often come out day or two late or just not at all. I love having a show I can count on to be out at certain times, so kind of a bummer when I get off work on a Wednesday and there’s still not even the Monday show posted. Kind of wish they would either figure out that issue OR just tell us a different release schedule. If Monday and Wednesday is clearly not doable for you, stop telling us to look for new episodes those days.

The Greatest Pod To Ever Surface The Web
Best podcast out there if your into a variety of relatable and or high topics/subjects. J Bone is the best co host ever, full of energy and knows how to direct a discussion. Ross has a great voice and is meant for podcasting, he should read bedtime stories because he’s a white Morgan Freeman. You guys are there for me when I need you! Peace Love and Gang Y’all.

Love this podcast
Do yourself a favor and roll it all the way back to the first episode of RBP and then listen straight through. This podcast is an amazing balance of funny, serious, and lighthearted. It’s been great to follow along with Ross over the last year plus. I feel like we’re buds. Also very cool to see watch an individual grown and change in such an open an accepting way.

Better than ever
Been listening to the pod since episode 20 and, I gotta say, the RBP is experiencing a golden era. Hilarious, entertaining, and almost educational at times, RBP has something for everyone. The co-hosts, Ross and Jared, have incredible chemistry and make an awesome comedy duo. If you end up liking what you hear, I highly recommend joining the RBP patron for an extra ad-free episode every Friday. Hot-line call episodes are absolutely GOATed and they’ll leave you dying laughing every time without fail. The mental health minisodes are also a must watch/listen for anyone who struggles with mental health, knows someone who struggles, or if you just want to learn more about it. All in all, there’s never a dull moment and from where I stand the pod has only gotten better. 5/5 Gang^3

RBP is right for me
Hello gang, this podcast will melt the marshmallows in your hot chocolate. Ross’s voice is like a warm weighted blanket and J-Bones voice sounds like it’s cover in melted Amish butter. Their banter is like a sweet symphony of chaos and love. Like a burnt hot dog in a brioche roll. I listen to them while walking the pups or arguing with the wife. My 12 year old has been caught several times trying to listen to the Texas based masterpiece known as RBP. Living in South Carolina is an all new level of danger with all the Murders going down and listening to this pod makes me feel somewhat safe. Peace be with all of you and see you over yonder.

Laugh, Cry and Think
Jim Valvano once said, "If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a heck of a day". This is the only podcast out there that really, truly enables all of these and more in a single episode. Whether you're looking to take your mind off the day with some goofy segments like "Insane Headlines of the Day", feeling at your absolute lowest and need a reminder that other people are going through it too, or looking for some interesting perspective on the everyday stressors of life, this is the podcast for you. These guys really care - I've messaged them before questions, comments, asking for advice - and they respond! Could not recommend this more to ANYONE. This is my favorite podcast
Give RBP a try and you will not regret it! I listen to a lot of podcasts each week during work and during my commute (like probably 30 hours per week). I can honestly say RBP is my most “must listen to” podcast. This one has gotten me through countless car rides, work days, and long runs. I’ve been a listener since early 2019 and I even went back and listened to the backlog of old episodes. Ross is awesome at what he does, and it’s been cool to hear him grow into the host he is now. J-Bone is an amazing dude and has really brought something extra to the show since joining Bolen Media full time. Can’t wait to see where the future takes these two.

Used to be better
I’ve been a listener of this podcast for a minute and it just isn’t what it used to be. Jared is by far the best co host on the show, but the episodes are much less structured now and it seems like the content mostly consists of Jared and Ross just having unsubstantial conversation. On top of the duration of episodes being cut in almost half, the segments are pretty much non-existent. I’m not a patreon subscriber so I can only speak on the “free” content but the way the episodes currently are motivates me less to subscribe on patreon. I still find the podcast amusing and listen to every episode but it doesn’t have that OG RBP feel anymore.

Seems like this shift from “serious” Ross back to “goofy” Ross is a little forced. In my honest opinion it kind of feels like Ross is not as humble as he once was before. And that he may be using Jared as a bit of punching bag to lay his jokes into. The tone of Jared’s voice when Ross does this, seems to verify my evaluation. It may not be ALL fun over there. I dunno. I definitely enjoy this new branded RBP more than the last “serious era of RBP” but I do miss the days of Micah and AJ. Those guys go hard.

Updating my review, dating last to when Chris first got hired. This show has done such a phoenix transformation, through all the different stages since the Micah era beginnings. Ross and Jared are absolutely hitting that classic stride that we all know and love. I fell off RBP for a while, but am now subscribed to the pod and donate on Patreon. My husband and I recently moved from OKC to Saint Louis to further my husband’s career. He now works at Square/CashApp. SHOUT OUT. I struggled mentally with major depression and anxiety in the first year after moving. As a long time Thrones addict, I had always loved the OCC Pod. Ross talked about RBP and I started tuning in. Amazing podcast we love Jared
Mom is driving me to my grandmas funeral. We are listening to the pod and she said I should leave a review because I never have. I’ve listened to RBP since it’s inception and it has been one of my favs. I recommend it to all my friends and I think everyone should listen to it. This podcast was the first thing I thought of when my grandma died because Ross always stresses talking to your grandparents. I find myself chuckling while I drive to these two clowns. I fell off this pod for awhile but had to start listening again when I heard J-bone is the new co-host. J-Bone and that other guy have a great chemistry and feed off of one another for great laughs.

Funny, smartish, and wildly entertaining
I’ve been listening to Ross and all his various podcasts for years. This podcast ranges from being laugh so loud you scare your cat funny, to so sincere and emotional and thought provoking. Ross is the consistency here but his newest permanent cohost, Jared, is exactly the goofball flavor this podcast needs. I highly recommend listening to this if you are interested in honestly anything because the topics are so broad, but especially if you want some deep mental health discussion surrounded by fun.

I’ll always listen to the pod and I get that maybe that’s how the two bounce off each other but i feel for him when he’s constantly getting his balls busted on mic. One of the highlights of my week
I have been listening to RBP for a few years now (found it after listening to OCC, go listen to that too) and have only grown to love it more and more. So many topics are covered while still staying true to the main segments, I especially love the mental health moments. Chris has been a great addition to the show and I hope he knows that doesn’t go unrecognized. Lastly, they are super interactive with listeners both on episodes & on social media which I appreciate. I started off at the Oysters, Clams, & Cockles pod because I was a Game of Thrones obsessed person (as everybody else in the world) so I loved that podcast so I saw that Ross had his own culture/life pod so that's how I ended up here. So, not only because of my legal obligation, but also I just love the flow & conversations about many topics that this pod delivers I'm leaving this review (which I don't do usually). Seeing an Echo Chamber
I used to really enjoy the pod. There was great topics including pirates, weed and mental health topics. Within the last 6 months the show has gotten quite partisan. Ross claims he is for hearing out other’s pov, yet when given the opportunity, will aim to discredit certain political opinions. As a non-partisan listener it is relatively obvious which side of the political spectrum he sides with. Unfortunately, hypocrisy and hot takes are rampant now. With that being said, I still cannot say the pod is bad but It’s falling from grace. The show used to be a nice middle ground taking perspectives from all sides, lighthearted topics and good levels of comedy. The politics are ruining the show. Anything remotely conservative is considered far right by Ross. Left is law for him. Of course he is entitled to his own opinions but it is a far stretch from the vibe of the show just a few months ago.

Used to GREAT; Now it’s Repetitive
This podcast used to be incredible and a great way to pass the time and just let the brain go and relax. Now, Ross just talks about how depressing life can be and how he thinks he can fix it. Ross is still fine but having a 22 year old wanna be counselor that speaks in absolutes about mental health and tries to diagnose and fix every situation is annoying as crap. I understand what the pod is trying to do but Chris acting like Freud and diagnosing and fixing mental issues makes me skip every episode about 15-20 minutes in every time.

It went way downhill after Coles joined
I listened religiously would go out of my way to support products that sponsored this show. Ever since coles joined it just became a giant Trump slam show. Jokes are fine but at a certain point you’re beating a dead horse. Coles has made the show pretty immature and Ross only alienated his older listeners. Maybe things will change I’m putting this show on the shelf for at least 8 months it’s a shame because it was a great escape for an hour and use to get me motivated for the day and had me laughing at loud.

Missing The Old Days
I have been a huge fan of Ross since the early Grandex days. I bought his book when it came out. I’ve listened to RBP since the beginning and have never missed an episode. Until the last couple of weeks...I’ve found myself drifting. Maybe I’ve just outgrown it. It feels immature now. I think Quols is funny and a nice guy, but adding a 21yr old kid to the mix made me realize it even more. The majority of their conversation is about smoking weed and playing video games. Which gets old. Especially when the host is in his mid 30s. Another big thing that has turned me off is they talk so much about dealing with depression and anxiety, which is something I have never really experienced. While I realize a large amount of people deal with these issues, a large amount of people don’t. I’m not one of them, and it makes it hard to relate. The recent uptick in political talk is quite annoying too. I never expect to agree with someone completely on politics, but some of Ross and Quols uneducated “surface” political takes don’t need to be part of the show. We get enough of that in real life. Ross - I love you but you need to realize that a big part of the audience that got you here is not made up of 20 year old kids with anxiety that just smoke weed and play fall guys all day. You’ve built an awesome business Ross. I miss the days of Chipotle napkins and Micah, but I understand that’s in the past. It was an incredible ride, but I don’t think I’ll be staying on board. Anyway, most of the topics really align with me and especially when it comes to mental health. I really appreciate the views that Ross has and his ability to stay open to changes in life and how he keeps a positive perspective. I flip around between episodes and have to say that adding Chris (q0uls) was like getting a breath of fresh air. I can count on this podcast to give me a good chuckle, bring myself back to center, and just be provided with such an amazing sense of community (especially through discord). After years of listening to this podcast I’m finally fulfilling my legal obligation. I wish I could be more positive. RBP was always something I could listen to as an escape from all the day to day bs. The topics were great, the conversations were good, and most importantly Ross said politics would never be a part of the show. Unfortunately that proved to not be true. Idc what opinions he’s sharing I’m just so sick of everything having to be about politics. One of the few things I could listen to and not have to deal with it is now plagued by it every episode. I wish all the best to Ross, Quols, and the whole gang but I’m gonna be stepping away from RBP for a while. Hope you guys can turn it around at some point.

I got to know the host Ross Bolen, through his other five-star podcast Oysters, Clams and Cockles. Love his commentary on all things TV, movies, and entertainment. I decided to check this other podcast out last week, and after only three episodes, I became a paying patron (not required). This is thoroughly entertaining with the perfect mix of silliness, humor, lightheartedness, and gravity. His podcast where he “speaks out” against the issues facing this country recently was so full of ignorance I couldn’t even make it through. He should have stayed unpolitical. I still love him as a person and respect what he does but if your a conservative realist this guy does not deserve our support right now. Rich “liberal” white guy is painfully uncool
On Ross’s most recent podcast he tells listeners that he is staying up late working so that he can keep the lights on and in the next breath he tells us how the security system in his 3 bedroom home (he’s single by the way) was set off by his maid. Not exactly the definition of keeping the lights on. While begging for Patreon support one second, and praising billionaires in the next breath I finally had to give up on Ross. Not to mention that he titled a segment Police Wake-up call the day after the murder of Ahmaud Arbery but the segment was actually about how inconvenienced he (Ross, a white guy) was by the cops entering his home because of a false security alarm. He has become more tone deaf over time and it’s sad to see an interesting and fun podcast become so infuriating to listen to.

RBP can range from topics that are frowned upon (strippers, gambling, smoking a little weed) to pop culture to current events (the storm). Never smoked weed but love RBP
Mom in my mid 30s who found RBP via another pod Oysters Clams & Cockles. Wasn’t sure it was for me at first - I’ve never smoked weed and know nothing about rap. However I’ve grown to love listening when cleaning or walking the dog. As a primary care provider who treats anxiety/depression I appreciate the open discussion about mental health and how’s it’s framed for younger listeners. Highly recommend for its hilarious content (Animal of the Week & Stuff to Wikipedia when you’re High are my favorite) as well as its open approach to mental health. Thanks Ross!

This used to be my favorite podcast. Couldn’t wait for new eps. Signed up for Patreon the day it went live but this podcast has went way down. What made this show great was the conversation between Ross and AJ/Micah. Shows used to focus on current events and AJ would ask a great question about how Ross feels about something and that would lead to great conversation. Now most episodes are Ross going on profanity laced tirades in multiple voices. Really painful to listen. Will check back in from time to time to see if it improves.

Ross, please go back to the old RBP. We need it very much. This podcast used to be unreal. The producers after AJ chime in far too much and add nothing of substance, they’re just annoying. We need the old days where Micah and AJ would chime in the perfect amount. Also, some segments seem to be forced, where as before (e.g. Things to Wiki When You’re High) the subjects seemed to genuinely interest Ross. I truly hope you read this Ross and are able to make some changes.

The RBP experience
Been listening for just over a year now, I had finally caved to all the promotion for the show. I went in skeptical, not expecting much, just something to pass the time. To my surprise, this show has given much more than I ever expected a pod cast to give. Ross is someone that can make you feel like you’re in the room just chatting with him. The rotation of co-hosts makes each episode a little different in terms of conversations which makes it easy to burn through episodes. Don’t let the mug shot fool you, this pod cast is amazing.
