Ep. 178 did it for me.
I’ve been listening to this podcast for the better half of the year now… I began searching for resources that could support a more positive attitude around the career I found myself in as an EA. From the practical applications and tips to the hosts genuine passion for the role, I’ve discovered an incredible world I never knew was available to me and have since made strides in my interview and negotiating skills, title, and business acumen. Episode 178 was particularly impactful for me regarding our importance to business strategy and how our role truly functions under proper leadership. I can’t wait to see what inspiring guest comes on next!

The best resource an EA can use!!
I have been listening for about a year. This is the best resource an EA can have in their arsenal. I just finished episode #180. The Good, The Bad, The Ugly. This was an amazing episode!!! I’ve been an Assistant for 25 years. I’ve certainly had my fair share of amazing executives as well as the not so great leaders. This episode took me back, remember the good and the bad times. The lesson learned is spot-on with what Jeremy reaffirmed in this episode. You are a valued member of the team, and you are a valuable human being. Everyone deserves to be valued and happy in their work environment. If you are not, it is time to give your skills to an organization and executive who will treat you with respect.

Powerful Voices of Administrators every week!
I am still amazed at the incredible consistency in which Jeremy delivers on this weekly podcast that seeks to amplify the awesomeness of a many times mis-understood role of Executive Administration. The wide range of professionals, industries, experience and topics featured through this podcast offers wonderful insight into the uniqueness of this career path. For newbies and seasoned professionals alike, there are nuggets of inspiration to be found in each episode. Thank you for your continued dedication to the evolution of the administrative industry Jeremy!

Great Conversations!
I found Jeremy’s Leader Assistant podcast at a time I was feeling isolated and loosing motivation during the beginning of the pandemic during lockdown. As crazy as it seems, I missed going to the office on most days. I was working from my dining room table and the days were all blending together. A plus of cutting out my usual 2 hour round trip commute was going on long walks around my community with all my newfound time every day. I’m a c-suite EA and was trying to figure out how to best support my Executive and run our front office from home. I searched for Admin related podcast to keep me company while on my walks. I have listened to 175 episodes and it was just what I needed. I have learned so much from Jeremy and all the really great guests he has had. It gave me the motivation I needed to work on being the best leader assistant that I could be and encourage my teammates through a difficult time for all of us. Jeremy has grown into a fantastic interviewer through the episodes and always seems to ask some of the same questions that I would have during his conversations. Now that I'm back in the office most days, I look forward to listening the the Leader Assistant podcast while on my commute. Thanks Jeremy!

Game changer!
Little did I know that episode 121 would change my future. Listening to Emily speak I felt as I was listening to my story. It gave me the push I needed to grow. Believe in my strengths and abilities that have always been valued (just weren’t with a new boss). At a new company and the skies the limit. Thank you for all you do Jeremy! For starting this network, for providing a community for us EA’s. Your book is also a must!

Fantastic Resource!
I’m SO glad I found this podcast! Not only is it chock-full of fantastic insights and relatable stories from fascinating, experienced Admin+ professionals, it’s introduced me to some wonderful new contacts who I already enjoy interacting with and learning from. I genuinely feel motivated and inspired by Jeremy and his guests. Plus, he’s written a fantastic book that also has a great online community (definitely check it out and join on his website!). I can’t recommend this podcast highly enough, it’ll help you up your game and feel seen. It’s not easy to create content about ‘work stuff’ that’s actually enjoyable to listen to, but Jeremy has done it and I’m grateful.

A podcast for more than leaders
This is a podcast where you think it will be all "business-y", and yes, it is. But so much of what they cover can be applied to your personal life. The ideas presented, back by research, can really make you re-think the way you conduct your business and your life. Well worth the time.

Great guests but something a bit off
Happy to find a podcast about EAs, and the guests are great, but the host does not seem into it at all. It sounds like he is reading from a list of questions and just moving from one to the next without listening or caring about the answers.

Highly recommend- A fantastic EA resource
I’m so glad I found this podcast. Good, free resources like this are invaluable for EAs. You get a broad range of interviews with seasoned EAs from around the world who know their stuff, have inspiring attitudes and share their way of doing the many tasks we are faced with on a daily basis. I always walk away with new ideas to apply to my job and a broader network of people to follow and connect with on LinkedIn. The host simply wants the best for people in our position and isn’t afraid to promote other professionals in the industry who have their own books, blogs, etc. Here’s to building a network that matters with people who are the best at what they do.

It has potential...
This podcast has potential, but I have to agree with some of the other negative reviews. Jeremy tends to have a very monotone demeanor and is very repetitive in his interview style. He doesn’t engage with his guests on anything more than surface level pleasantries. I find myself cringing throughout each episode at all of the awkward pauses and transitions. Podcasting is a conversational art, and I’m just not sure this is one of Jeremy’s strengths. I would also prefer to hear from current EA’s rather than people that are no longer working in the industry.

Highly Recommend!
The Leader Assistant podcast has been a refreshing reminder of why I’m an Assistant and why I love being an Assistant, despite some of the bad days. Jeremy does a great job of leading the conversation with Assistants or Assistant Advocates and allowing them to speak their truth and be their authentic selves. I’d highly recommend this podcast to any Assistant, Advocate, or Leader, regardless of their number of service years or industry.

Untapped potential
I keep coming back to this podcast wanting and hoping to love it, but I just can’t. This podcast has such potential but the host’s lackluster demeanor and interview style leaves a lot to be desired from these interviews. There is no conversation with these exceptional Assistants, it’s just “here’s a question”...receives answer...responds literally “mmm, yeah. Cool”...Asks another question. There is so much information being left on the table if you would just converse with the guest and dig a little deeper. I’m so frustrated that these opportunities are being wasted because I’m really in what advice these EAs have to give from their vast experience. Please, act interested in what your guests do and have to say and ask the important questions!!

I’m a fairly seasoned C-Suite EA with an epic fire lit beneath me to grow, expand and flex my leadership muscles. I stumbled on this podcast series and have picked up so many tips along the way, including Jeremy’s book and online/Slack community for EAs! I’ve connected with some of the Podcast interviewees via LinkedIn and look forward to expanding my ever-growing toolkit of skills, connections and various resources. The EA community needs each other and Jeremy is helping to bridge the gap between us. Listen to this Podcast... you won’t be disappointed!

Awesome!
This podcast is great. You hear from different levels of assistants, some CEO's and their stories. Depending how you look at it, it makes me want to be a better assistant because there are so many things to learn from his interviews. Many interviews offer services, technology, and awesome advice. My favorites are stories about saving the day and the other is the biggest mistakes made and what you learn from it. Thanks Jeremy!

Mediocre at best
I find the host to be monotone, negative, repetitive and frequently complaining. I don’t think he uses the word “dehumanizing” correctly and it’s disrespectful to people who have truly been “dehumanized.” Some of the EAs he interviews have interesting backgrounds and experiences, but most are very awkward and do not provide substantive advice for current EAs or admins. I do not want to hear about how #66 likes foot rubs or about some of the borderline obsessive relationships EAs have with their bosses. I jumped around to a few different episodes. Frankly, Peggy Grande is the only episode I found useful (I listened to 8 or 9 total).

Great pod and opportunity to improve!!
I appreciate this podcast and have listened to ALL episodes. There’s not much out there for admin professionals so this is my go-to podcast right now. However, two things why I rated it 2 stars: Show host Jeremy Burrows is a bit stuck in his interview technique and asks the same questions (in the same order) to EVERY guest. I’d like to challenge him to be a bit more dynamic and flexible... dig deeper when guests are sharing their stories and don’t just reply “that’s awesome” and jump on to the next question in your script. A podcast should be like listening to an actual conversation. Get the details and the how-tos from your guests and this will be such a great pod!! Second: many guests on this show are no longer working as admin professionals/EAs. They have moved on and are running their own coaching/speaking/recruiting business. YAWN! How many of these people do we need? Where are the savvy professionals that are thriving as admin professionals RIGHT NOW and making big bucks and loving their jobs!? I know they are out there. I want to hear and learn from them. If not, this podcast is not for EAs, but rather for admin professionals who want to start their own business. I understand Jeremy is learning a lot from these people as he’s entering the entrepreneurial world himself... however, that’s not why I came here. I’m sure this pod will improve and grow. And I look forward to tagging along as it does. Many thanks and keep up the good work!

Inspiring and informative
Thank you for pointing me to your podcasts ! What a great tool to inform, educate and equip the EAs of the world ! I found this particular one easy not only easy to listen to but intriguing as I’ve never heard of Cabinet so I’ll be exploring that in greater detail in the coming days. As a “seasoned” EA, I, too, have struggled with tying my accomplishments to my executive’s strategic goals so I’m looking forward to seeing this come to fruition and actually showing this value in a way that’s relatable to the executive. Very helpful in my journey as EA - everyone needs a lift to spur us along. Thank you. Suzanne Reed McKinney. Texas

I’ve just been given my first job opportunity as an EA for a Fortune 500 company. Excellent Content, Great Motivator
What I particularly love about this podcast is that I can listen to the same episode three or four times and get something new out of it each time. Most episodes are packed full of practical tips and tools, and stories from real-life EAs “just like me” who have been there and done “that,” and who are sharing what “that” looks like for them. So relatable, so helpful, and ultimately reassuring that a worldwide network of EAs is right beside me, ready to help me succeed in my chosen career. This is my favorite “assistant” podcast for lots of reasons. You won’t regret listening!

Worth your time investment!
Burrows is such a great real life example of a leader assistant. I have had the experience of being a front row witness to his leadership style and work style for several years now, having worked alongside him in various settings. Jeremy is truly someone who leads by action, so am excited that there is a podcast where the words are truly backed up by real life action. This guy practices what he preaches...and, in my opinion, that is someone worth listening to!

Love LOVE what Jeremy says about leaders being servants. As Executive Assistants, it is our duty to put someone else’s needs before our own and when we truly do that and watch them succeed....what an amazing feeling! Thank you, Jeremy, for all of your insights even before your podcasts. I rely on your articles and such to get me through the day and remind me that I AM a leader :-)

Lead on by serving
If there is anyone who knows how to deftly handle the role of an executive assistant it is Burrows. Even better at least in the case of this podcast, is that he communicates effectively how other executive assistants can do this with excellence as well.

Authentic. Practical. Powerful.
This. Podcast. Is. Spot. On. Jeremy is the real deal -- he was "walking his walk" way before he ever thought about "talking his talk." Over the past eight years running my own business, Jeremy has been a great resource and has often chalenged me with words of wisdom regarding the best and highest use of my time. I am not sure there is someone on this planet who better understands not just the role and best practices for being a leader assistant, but who can articulate the how's, why's, do's and don't so effectively. Just listended to episode one and I'm pumped for more. My own exec. assistant will be listening to these podcasts and so will I. Thanks, Jeremy!

Fabulous podcast for assistants everywhere!
I am already a huge fan of this new podcast! The content really packs a punch. Jeremy mentioned on the first episode that he is getting used to the experience, but he already sounds like a pro (thank you for being brave and sharing your voice with the world, Jeremy!). He has a great speaking voice and gets right down to the topics he wants to speak to - I like that these are not drawn out like other podcasts I've listened to. Besides being an awesome speaker and diving right in, he chooses to speak to topics that are motivating and offers up lessons he has learned in order to be a successful EA himself. These pieces of wisdom are invaluable to assistants across the board, whether you are starting out or have been in the field for years. Lastly, I love how Jeremy involves his wife and kids in the short intro and sign off. So sweet! Keep up the great work, Jeremy!
