Appreciation for this show
I’m approaching 50. I wish I applied principles of this show when I was in my 20’s or 30’s. I appreciate the ideas and principles learned from this show.

One of the best shows for young men.
I’m a 17 year old young man trying to find purpose, passion and career clear direction and this is one of my favorite podcast when I first started listening to it it soon became my most listened to podcasts, and I couldn’t wait for it to come out each day. His advice is clear convicting and funny at the same time definitely my favorite show. Keep up the great work!!

Answers to prayers - I’m serious!
I had to write a review after having multiple instances with my prayers being answered. Whether it was someone who was in the exact same situation or mindset. Maybe it’s a segment or a “rant”. But they are all jewels. This last one posted about what is holding me back (a prayer I have been waiting on an answer for for a while now) - and I not only received confirmation that I’m doing what I need to be doing right now, but also that my dream isn’t as impossible as I thought it would be. I really appreciate what the team is doing and all of the variety in content. In particular, I enjoy the leadership development segments and the focus on human connection. 🙌🏽

Helpful advice for my own life
It was really helpful to hear a call in from a woman who broke down and cried about how terrible an ex-boss made her feel. Ken’s advice to forgive rather than seek revenge really spoke to me in regards to a situation I was in 1 year ago that I still have anger for.

I just can’t
I’ve subscribed to and unsubscribed from Ken’s podcast multiple times. I have finally given up. He’s all over the place with his “rants” and spends way too much time monologuing and not enough time with callers. It’s the same thing over and over again.

Umm…
Ken is the weakest “personality” of the bunch from the ramsey show and it’s showcased on full display when on his own. Where’s the Advice and why should I trust it? Aside from going to probably the most conservative college in America for political science how is this guy an expert… on anything career wise. He’s never done any HR or coaching of high powered CEOs, been an actual CEO or lead a company in any way. He’s just a heavy conservative that gives basic “feeling in my gut” type of career answers such as… you should get a job you love with people you like making tons of money. Umm… yeah...

Mr. Coleman’s advice works !!
I started listening to his podcast this summer 2022. When I started searching for internships, I kept his teachings in mind and applied the “why” statement in interviews. Also, I asked the interviewers a lot of questions because Ken says the interview is much for me and is it for them. Luckily, on the very last interview I had, I got hired for an internship position with more pay and bonus than the previous one I had. I start next year May 2023 and I’m looking forward to doing what I do best, to generate outcomes that matters!

Only Listen if You Want the Juice!!!
Ken Coleman has become by far my favorite podcast. He is easy to listen to, and I absolutely adore his sense of humor! He makes so much sense and I can’t wait to buy his book, The Proximity Principle. I am almost finished with his book From Paycheck to Purpose. I will continue to follow him and whatever he produces because I know it’s quality content. I consistently share episodes from his podcast on various social media and career platforms simply because I find incredible value in the content. I know it can help so many people if they listen and read.

Spot on
Ken Coleman is spot on. It doesn’t always apply to those of us in health care. I would like to have more discussion in these areas. Also possibly those in education as well. It’s geared more for office , tech , small businesses etc. Realize that tons of people don’t work in the corporate America nor 9-5. However quite a bit of what he talks about will apply to all.

Yikes
I appreciate Ken’s goal with this podcast. But as a hard moderate, I cringe every time he goes on a rant. He loves to blame young people, the left, and “socialists” for everything under the sun. This is just Fox News with some occasional career advice thrown in. Stick to your strengths, Ken. Political complaining isn’t yours.

Gets you back to your childhood dreams
I have been listening to Ken Coleman for two years. My first year I wrote a review and gave him five stars. But now I’m listening to the shows and I have to turn it off. Although Ken can give good advice I’m finding that he’s always talking. I really think his magic shines when he’s addressing the callers and trying to tap into their life purpose. But lately it’s just way way way too much of Ken talking. I do like him to talk but not the entire show. Please go back to your earlier episodes and get tune .

Good show, but
I like the concept but it’s a show. I didn’t realize I’d be spammed on a private email that was no doubt sold for profit the day after I signed up- you may say you didn’t but you certainly did! Some advice can not be taken literally such as a stroke patient who lost his job with flying, it’s the same with driving professionally, you can not do that. He likes to see places, meeting new people and places. Louisville Ky? Why not working with the riverboats? Just my suggestion.

Blah blah blah
Ken talks way too much. Will use 25 words when 7 could provide the same message more succinctly. Will say the same thing 4 different ways which is BORING. He has real important information to share but it’s buried in all the word salad and his “funny” repartee. If only he could be more succinct so we could hear more callers and questions.

Cringiest background noise/paper shaking
I previously loved listening to every episode and always sent my friends to his resources, however, the last few months Ken has gotten on this weird trek of intentionally shaking papers into the microphone. It bursts sound into your AirPods at the cringiest level. I tried to get past it for months but now he calls extra attention to it, talks about how his producer hates it, etc multiple times within minutes, so I’m done lol. Today was the final straw for an unfollow because we’ve added purposely loud water gulping into the mic too… I miss when the show was a helpful conversation and not a sensory nightmare.

Like Ken not some of the callers
“I want to help people”. My suggestion would be go to work, fo what they are paying you for, don’t be a part of the “toxic” environment that you are probably helping to create by “helping “ people, and start your own ministry after work. People who complain about toxic environments at the office are usually the ones who are right in the middle of it.

No real depth of content
Ken does not seem to be a real expert in any of the topics. Great if he helps folks to connect with careers and jobs in a way that makes them feel more empowered. But to me, seems to be lacking in depth or any real new or creative ideas.

Ken Coleman welcomes everybody.
After “From Paycheck to Purpose”, I would love that Ken wrote a book titled “Welcome to the Human Race”. He says this expression when someone calls so sad thinking so little of themselves, and after that expression, with which Ken welcomes our vulnerability, the voice of people change!!! They get hopeful (and me too!!). Ken Coleman welcomes everybody and makes us feel accepted, loved and purposeful in this race that we, humans, run everyday. Thanks, Ken!!

The encouragement I needed!
The topics that Ken covers and his method of doing it would have been crazy helpful back when I just got out of high school. However did I find his show just as I came to a critical crossroads in my current career. Though grateful for the time, experience, and compensation I got from my current career, I am beginning to become jaded. Looking up my current career ladder, I believe it’s time for me to find a different ladder. I was hesitant to say the least in leaving my current career, but thanks to Ken’s show I can take courageous and wise steps towards a career and mission that I resonate better with!

Basic
I tried getting into this - but ultimately this seems like a psychic at a carnival. Ken will listen to someone say they want to become a nurse for 2 minutes - and then tell them “I think you should do something in the medical field...it seems like that’s what your heart wants”.

Not awful if you’re looking for background noise
Every now and then there’s an interesting caller question or tidbit of information, but generally the show offers minimal substance and can feel a bit overly promotional at times. Guidance is pretty superficial and comparable to a glorified high school guidance counselor.

I definitely like hearing Ken Coleman help people try and figure out their dream jobs and sweet spot areas. Has five star outlooks with what use to be ok social shame
I 100% believe he has an amazing gift of seeing what and how people need to change as far as perspective to help them to get to their dream life! I understand this and think he has a God given gift which is why I even take the time to say this. I am a Christian mother and successful women business owner that has dreams of expanding. The tone that is set in these podcast are very much not something productive for me. I feel he has very good advice but needs to work on how he belittles and talks down to somebody before he gives them his insight. Take time to really dive into how the person you are talking to is uniquely and beautifully made before you make them feel like an idiot for not having any answers and insight that you have. Only leave this because I think their is prenatal for amazing!

I just found you last month when I was in my hometown for a weekend. One track show
The KC show is really geared to helping people figure out what they already know, not giving tips and advice on how to get there. Maybe he just wants people to buy his products, but it is kind of frustrating how most of his calls are just people figuring out what they want to do with their lives. There are so many other questions and skills to have when succeeding in a career and he seems to have trouble helping callers with this. Also struggles to listen compassionately.

keep your politics to your self
I've been listening to this show off an on for awhile. It's very repetitive but does have okay advice about choosing career directions.... when he has those calls. Otherwise he doesn't listen well and jumps to conclusions about people's scenerios without listening to what the caller is telling him. Also, lately he's been sticking out inaccurate political views (after mentioning multiple times he wasn't going to talk politics). If you are going to get political, at least keep it to local politics that you're familiar with instead of spouting off innaccurate information about other states that you don't even live in.

Ken, you’re the man!
Ken, you’re the man! I heard you as a guest on Dave Ramsey and started listening to your podcast religiously! Thank you for all your advice, I feel like every callers question is so relatable. Ken, my only advice is please do no make light of coronavirus. I’m directly talking about that episode where that woman was a nail tech and you said if both parties wore masks it’d be fine. ITS NOT FINE. Corona will certainly NOT last forever as you say, but it will last longer if people do not treat this will care. Ken you’re still great! And you’re right that this pandemic won’t last forever and you’re a calming presence to listen to. Love your book by the way!!!

More perspective and deeper listening
As a fellow career coach in the industry, I can appreciate Ken’s perspective of helping callers uncover their life calling (sweet spot), however I feel as though he falls short in recognizing people’s varied motivations of working in the first place. Not everyone wants a vocational call for their 9-5. Some choose to work because they are motivated by $ and utilize other values of fulfillment in their off hours. I know there are time constraints for each caller, but often Ken’s presumptions of client needs come across as abrasive and function more in lines of executive (prescriptive) coaching, then deep compassionate listening.

Fun to hear callers, Ken not helpful, weird pseudo religious bent
Ken is really not an expert in any of the topics he discusses AND you can tell he has no idea how it feels to really be trapped by responsibilities. He’s not even remotely as good as Dave Ramsey and they both creep me out the way they mix religion and business. Cheesy you can do it! Go go go!!! Not helpful. After I listened to a few of them I felt extremely depressed rather than inspired.

Total Cheeseball
When it comes down to it, Dave Ramsey is the man. Can’t say the same about any of his “Ramsey personalities” though. Like his colleague Chris Hogan, Coleman for the most part just fires off pseudo motivational nonsense in the form of career advice. The kind of things you’d hear from an overweight personal trainer saying to a client with their nose buried in their phone during the session, “you can do this!” “You got this!” You get the picture. Also, as one reviewer mentioned, Coleman loooooves the sound of his own voice. This guy has perfected his act and it’s not difficult to see through if you just sit and really listen for a minute. It’s obvious he’s quite pleased to collect a big Ramsey check to essentially make meaningless sounds with his mouth. If you are truly at the end of your rope, I could see this guy maybe serving as a little pick me up simply for the amount of cheese he serves up but if you are serious about progressing in your career, look elsewhere.

Listening to Ken reason thru guests’ desires, gifts, goals, and circumstances in order to help them hone a lane in their sweet spot has been a useful way to vet my own internal dreaming and decision making process. Making new moves toward a more fulfilling purpose is exciting and hopeful, but also risky. Having an experienced coach who can quickly size up a situation, trouble shoot, and direct with love and encouragement as Ken does is wonderful!

Patronizing
Ken’s “style” which involves a lot of interrupting and pontificating (under the guise of clarifying points for the listener) literally causes my eyes to roll. I feel talked down to the entire show. He loves the sound of his own voice. His style caused me to stop listening to the EntreLeadership podcast but I thought maybe this content would be interesting enough. Nope! What exactly in Ken Coleman’s background makes him an expert on careers? He used to host the video channel and emcee events, and now he’s “America’s career expert”?? I think they must sit around the conference room and Dave says “ok Ken, you’re know the career expert. We’ll put together some crappy book with stupid advice and feed it to the sheep” If you want to get a job somewhere, it’s helpful to know people that work there. GREAT ADVICE!!!

Find your Fire !
I’ve been listening to this show for 3 weeks now and love how Ken interacts with the callers helping them to clear their minds of negativity and preconceived ideas of what they can and can’t do. It’s incredible to listen to him teasing out the core of people’s motivating fire and putting the puzzle together to find the most satisfying meaningful calling for their lives. I have just had my own personal breakthrough by analyzing myself with his method. We are all created for a specific purpose and I am thankful to have found this show.

Great Counseling
This show is not about technical business skills or how to be a great entrepreneur so much as it is about counseling people to find what they love and to make the leap towards doing that. Ken is great at asking questions and listening deeply to answers. His warm heart towards his callers creates an encouraging, safe space where they can get to the heart of what it is they truly want in life. He doesn’t pretend to have all the industry knowledge they will need. He doesn’t even pretend to have the applicable business acumen. He just helps them navigate their own head, and he does that remarkably well.

I think you need something more like Dave Ramsey’s baby steps, but for careers. Create a concrete, well defined path for people searching for fulfilling work and hammer the basics every show like Dave does. Think “What color is your parachute,” but your niche and hit the basics.

I started listening to the podcast after being laid off in January this year. I found that Ken’s podcast and resources are insightful and helpful! I used the proximity principle to land my new job that starts this month! I have skills the new employer was looking for but I don’t think I would have gotten my foot in the door without reaching out to a current employee that gave me a referral. The HR recruiter told me “great people know great people and we love referrals”. The first step in finding my new job was prayer! The rest of the steps were determining what I really wanted to do and going after it. The proximity principle takes time and don’t look for success overnight. Expect failure along the way until the right job comes along. Thanks Ken!

LOVE IT but repetitive advice?
I LOVE this show and love Ken Coleman. His advice is wonderful, but I did take off one star because I feel like he’s a bit repetitive with his advice. Which, like duh, people should take it before calling in—but at the same time, I feel like he could at least ask different questions to make it more interesting for the listeners. Still love this podcast and his method!

Clarity and positive direction
I love Ken’s enthusiasm and positivity with callers. He has a true talent in helping cut through fear, barriers, excuses, and doubts that callers have to help them begin to see clear talent, passion, and direction for the future. Excellent career advice in focusing on the “function” rather than titles of jobs. Do what you love! Keep up the great work, Ken! I am a career counselor in Nashville and am very thankful for your work. I share your show with all of my clients!

Good, not yet Great
I enjoy this podcast and love listening to others (like me) trying to find their sweet spot job. Overall I think Ken does a good job asking questions and guiding the callers. But sometimes he is repetitive and a call that could take 15 minutes can drag out for 30 because it’s just rehashed over and over.

Only finds problems
I've listened to a few episodes and was really disappointed in how much of a Debby downer he was. I don't think any of the callers walked away from their call with any hope or strategies to overcome problems but walked away with only disappointment that this one guy didn't like his/her idea. I won't be listening again.

Everyone can benefit from Ken’s show no matter where they are in their lives
Finding Ken’s show has been a godsend to me and my family. I wish I had his expertise when I was in high school! He’s passionate about making a difference in the lives of others no matter where they are in their lives. His advice and techniques transcend advice on “jobs” to get folks to careers they are passionate about and an overall happier place. My first newspaper route job at 12 years old started my work life. I found my passion and talent for writing in high school at 17 working on my school newspaper. I have loved my communications career since graduating college over 30 years ago. There have been ups and downs along the way but my passion has always sustained me. I’m learning from Ken today about how to leverage my passion and talents to guide me on what the next phase of my life journey will be. Thank you Ken!

Less than Impressed
I gave this Podcast a try on more than one occasion. I was hoping for actual business details and entrepreneurship. Something akin to the Wall Street Journal or Bloomberg. Ken sounds scripted at best. I looked up Ken’s biography. He has zero background in small business. He has no concept of the stress or effort required to make payroll and estimate quarterly income taxes. It’s like asking for exercise tips from someone who is obese

Interesting and useful, overall
I turned into this podcast after finding out from Dave Ramsey podcast. Trying to find a way to move my career forward in a better direction than my current stuck position. Overall, it’s a great show with lots of helpful information. However, I noticed that Ken, although he says he’s not, is somewhat critical to some callers who don’t have a clue or need more help than he can provide. Other than that, I like the show and it’s optimistic outlook. Thanks.

What are you waiting for?
Ken’s show is like sitting down with that one great friend you have that always seems to have great ideas and thoughts to help you see things in a different light. My husband mentioned that this podcast might be of interest to me as I am trying to figure out what I want to do/be when I “grow up.” I have found that I am listening to two or three shows a day and nearly each one makes me think and question what I think I know about myself. I am a work in progress and I am starting to believe that I will get to where I am supposed to be. I have seen a review or two that say the show is cheesy. I suspect that those people are not ready or willing to see how different life could be. This is such an uplifting and thought-provoking show, I would encourage everyone to listen even if you have found your spot.

Terrible advice
Daycare is not “school” it’s daycare. A place to confine your kids all day with revolving minimum wage earners. His rant on a 3 year old not wanting to go to daycare is NOT the same as a child not wanting to go to elementary school. Day care is for kids whose parents placed material possessions over parenting. Daycare has life long effects. Terrible advice Ken. Thank God you were not MY dad.

I regularly podcast The Dave Ramsey Show and listen during work. On a normal day I can go through about 6, maybe a little more, of his podcasts so I sometimes have to wait to build up enough content to last me a while. So I started to look for other podcasts but I wanted something that was also educational, inspirational and fun to listen to. I started researching and asking friends but didn’t find what I was looking for till..... The Ken Coleman Show. Wow dude... wow.
Have been a Dave Ramsey listener for years. Very familiar with Ken's voice from EntreLeadership podcast and appearances on DR. Since this is a Ramsey Solutions production, I want to start by saying that DR is king of the financial advice jungle like Jerry Seinfeld is king of the comedy jungle. No one else comes close. I have always enjoyed DR's style - southern, practical, tough, direct, efficient, BOSS - amazing judgment determining the perfect balance between entertainment and substance. I know he's just a normal dude whose wife probably yells at him to stop eating cookies before dinner just like mine, but he helps a lot of people get financial direction. Sure, it's "God's and Grandma's way of handling money," but no one delivers the message quite like Dave. I mean... I'm sure God could do a better job if he wanted to, but I feel like maybe he delegated it to Dave and that's why Dave is so good at it. Now, on to Ken. I have listened to all but 2 episodes of The Ken Coleman Show. Will have heard them all by end of day tomorrow because I'm so cool. Initially, I was skeptical. I know what you're thinking... I'm just some dude who eats too many cookies before dinner (and you'd be correct). Who am I to critique someone operating in a profession in which I have absolutely no related experience? Well, like everyone else here, I am an expert thanks to the fact that I own a keyboard. In any case... Ken, your show is perhaps the best podcast I have ever listened to. I think of DR's show as a "radio show" since it's more old school. The intro to your show reminds me of a podcast, so I'm putting it in the podcast category. Don't let that discourage anyone. Best radio show: DR. Best podcast: KC. Best looking: me. Thanks for reading. Also, I was really impressed by the interview with Itzler. One of the best interviews I've ever heard. And I'm not just saying that. You guys have simultaneously created and conquered a whole new market with this show. I mean, I have no clue if that is true or not, but that's what it looks like on the surface to an expert with a keyboard. Very well done.

Don't waste your life...listen to this show!
“The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation. What is called resignation is confirmed desperation. From the desperate city you go into the desperate country, and have to console yourself with the bravery of minks and muskrats. A stereotyped but unconscious despair is concealed even under what are called the games and amusements of mankind. There is no play in them, for this comes after work. But it is a characteristic of wisdom not to do desperate things.” ~ Henry David Thoreau -- This show from Ken and his team will wake us up from "unconscious despair" and help us live a life of meaning for God and country.

Outstanding content!
I know firsthand that life can be really messy. After experiencing the traumatic loss of my mom after her 18 year battle with cancer, I can attest to the fact that for a lot of people, conquering the world isn’t as much as a priority as conquering Monday and being a champion of everyday life, especially when they can’t seem to get unstuck after life has unloaded setbacks and unrelenting disappointment. Three years ago, I had to make a change for my health; for my future. And so I began the process of getting unstuck. After much time and significant healing, I got unstuck. And...I got my "why" back. Ken is a hero. His motivational voice and his life experiences couples to bring powerhouse advice and strategy to anyone looking to move forward with their purpose. I've discovered mine. And I'm ever-grateful to Ken for this timely message. Well done, team. Well done.
