The podcast I never knew I needed
This show is all the things - raw, honest, vulnerable, and funny. You’ll laugh. You’ll cry. You’ll have every emotion in between. I binged this podcast over a couple of weeks. I think the colonoscopy episode might be my fave, along with the Midlife Bikini Wax of the Soul 💜

Did I just meet my new bestie??
It’s rare that I’m grateful for the Los Angeles commute, but today was an exception! Actually enjoyed all the time in my car, because it meant that I got to know a new friend, the Flexible Neurotic. Each time she has a guest on I feel like I’m adding someone to the tribe of women who are helping me manage my way through mid life and learn to see it as a thriving prime time. Thanks for what you’re doing, thanks for being transparent, and charmingly irreverent.

A Dose of Honesty for Midlife
This podcast provides a refreshingly honest view of midlife as a time of reinvention and possibility, while not shying away from all the tough topics that are on all of our minds. Thanks for covering it all, providing important information about hot topics, and making us laugh along the way.

The last episode “teenage buffet”
I couldn’t have listened at a better time. I’m a mom of three boys, ages 18,15 and 12 and all of the suggestions and the interview was great. I wish this was around when my oldest was just 13 because I would have handled some tough conversations differently. Excellent podcast about these midlife issues, not just kid stuff.

Well, I AM dealing with that, so this provides welcome enlightenment, information, humor and community. Thanks, Sarah!

I bumped into Sarah, the flexible neurotic on Instagram. I loved her vibe, but what got me was the content of her podcasts! Real, researched information from guests who are experts in their fields. I ❤️ Dr. Sarah Milken and the Flexible Neurotic
There is nothing better than going on a hike and listening to the Flexible Neurotic. I was listening to the episode Midlife VJ’s use them or lose them yesterday and literally laughing out loud on my walk. Some ladies walked by me and were looking at me like I was crazy! The conversations about wearing leggings all day and the vaginal stew!!!! All of us women know about this!! There is so much information that Dr. sarah discusses with all her guest speakers, that is relatable but discussed in a way that is funny, interesting.. I always walk away from her podcast feeling better about my self and that I am not going completely meshugina during menopause. Thanks doc for all your golden nuggets

Favorite midlife podcast - honest, informative, hilarious at times.
Dr. Sarah Milken and The Flexible Neurotic is one of my favorite podcasts to tune into. Sarah is tackling the topics that no one else does and she lays it all bare, making those taboo topics of midlife, especially, feel normal. Sarah attracts only top-notch, top of their field/arena speakers and her ability to tap in and go there with them is both refreshing and so informative. I end up laughing along with learning so much every time. Her follow up “golden nuggets” make it so easy for me to digest and remember what she has just shared. Love it. We all need a good laugh in the middle of this thing called menopause. And Sarah will keep you laughing one second and then listening carefully for good advice the next. The latest Podcast with Dr. Jill Krapf was informative and relatable. Dr. Krapf discussed all the things we all wished someone had told us so we wouldn’t be so freaked out. And she talked about how to advocate for our sexual health if things aren’t exactly what they used to be since our hormones started taking a nose dive. This episode left me feeling hopeful!

All THAT + Boob Sweat
About a year ago, I stumbled across a post from The Flexible Neurotic. What was this? That name is so me - especially in midlife. Sarah is ALL THAT - articulate, light-hearted, and hysterical, often touching on topics that have been considered taboo. Her guests do not bring the your traditional boring midlife topics - let’s push our limits to embrace our inner midlife goddess. And her family is the cutest - the packing supervisor would not be happy with me. I always feel like I am sitting amongst friends listening to her podcast - midlife friends, with boob sweat, trying to navigate this new phase of life. You are a gem, Sarah!

Fun, smart, creative and NECESSARY podcast for us midlife ladies!
I am celebrating that I “found” Dr. Sarah on Instagram through a awesome 50+ female “influencer” which then led me to her podcast. I really appreciate how she connects and effortlessly chats with her guests! The arena she’s created is unforced with her natural humor. She’s normal and realistic not overtly “positive” and she’s sharing such important information. We need these convos to be had in a judgment free and honest environment where we can share everything from sex/beauty secrets to how funny and crazy our bodies/minds/life are changing at this stage. Brava!👏🏼♥️ Loving this podcast!

So thankful I found this podcast!
With entertaining stories, humor & wit, this podcast addresses so many of the frustrating midlife female problems & health concerns that us ladies will inevitably go through or are currently going through. The episodes have made me feel less alone & less embarrassed about the bodily/hormonal changes that happen to us along this journey & have also provided some really helpful information & hacks, as well as a lot of laughs. It’s like having a smart, resourceful & hilarious friend to share this crazy ride with! Thank you Dr. Milken!

The Importance of Nutrition
Sarah is great!!! I’m loving all her topics. I can relate to all. What a breath of fresh air. I listened to the dr Karen episode and the talk came onto UTIs. I would like to say that there is a life changing probiotic that I use that helps change the microbe in your gut. Your gut microbe is directly related to your vagina microbe. And especially as we get older: the bacteria changes due to the hormone changes. The probiotic I use is called ION. The other huge thing that you can do (that doctors don’t talk about is): eliminate SUGAR from your diet. I have noticed huge changes just by changing that. Dr Karyn sounded good but I feel like mainstream womens health is so behind the times. It’s so frustrating. And continues to be frustrating for all of us midlife women!

Humorous, Relatable, Ironical
After “meeting” Sarah on Instagram, I have now ventured to her podcasts. They are hysterical, so relatable, so much fun, full of genuine knowledge! As a fellow midlifer, it feels good to know you’re not in it alone and laugh about this mess we are all in together. She keeps it light and funny and will have you laughing out loud (so that people stare at you on the elliptical). 🤷♀️🤣

A Total F’ing GEM! 💎
I fell in love this week. Yep. With this sweary, off-centered, bright and funnyAF woman! Sarah’s colonoscopy journey hooked me at “butt paste” (which, incidentally, is what a choreographer I worked with claimed as her facial beauty secret). Real talk, honest and unfiltered. Just the way I like it! Just like talking to your best friend. I’ll be Louise (I’m older). You can be Thelma. Can’t wait to binge listen more episodes while walking around my neighborhood, learning… and laughing like a nut job. Such. Good. Stuff.

This Doctor Delivers!
Dr. Sarah Milken delivers the greatest digital house call with her Flexible Neurotic podcast, a panacea for what she aptly calls the “midlife itchies,” the restlessness we all feel in this middle space of life when we’re asking questions like, “What’s next?” “How do I want to be for life’s second half?” and “What the heck is vaginal rejuvenation and how do I get it??” Sarah’s enthusiastic and thoroughly-considered deep dives into topics women want to explore are brave, honest and hilarious, and whether you’re listening to a solo episode or an interview with one of her many esteemed guests, you’ll learn, you’ll laugh and you’ll be emboldened to go ahead and scratch those itchies, no matter what they are!

Relevant and honest
I have listened to all of Sarah’s podcasts and I anxiously wait for each new one to come out. I have listened to many a podcast and I easily tire of what feels like the same message /new book release from an author as they make the podcast circuit. Not with Sarah. I appreciate that she digs deep into the midlife stuff nobody wants to talk about and makes aging gracefully “okay.” Real life stuff. Sometimes I cringe at her straight forward, no nonsense approach, but I always laugh and definitely always learn lots!! Thank you Sarah and congratulations on ONE year of normalizing the mid-life madness!

Sarah’s personality really shines thru as she chats up her guests. I love listening to this podcast because she normalizes so many subjects and conversations that a lot of women think about but might not actually say out loud- and she does it in a light hearted but sincere way. Even when a certain show doesn’t seem relevant to me I still enjoy listening because I almost always come away from it feeling good somehow. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Lots of relevant tips
First of all Sarah does her homework. Her preparation is what sets her show apart; especially when she introduces guests. While I’ve only listened to 3 episodes so far, (and despite not being a parent myself), the whole “honor your child’s blueprint” really resonated. Now, I use that phrase constantly when a girlfriend asks me questions like: my son wants to wear a dress, what should I do? If only this mentality was more widespread. Keep up the good work!

Do you find yourself endlessly exploring diets that aren’t focused on midlife women and menopausal support? And, if they are midlife focused they don’t even work. Although menopause is natural, the symptoms can be treated. Finding the right resources is the first step in midlife health. When it comes to menopause & perimenopause information backed by science can reassure you that you are on the right track. Join me, Dr. Sarah Milken, in an open and honest conversation called, “Taming Weight Gain, Menopause and Inflammation with Dr. Mary Claire Harver, The Galveston Diet”. My guest, Mary Claire, is a board-certified OB/GYN, “menopause normalizer, and problem solver”. She changed the focus of her whole gynecology practice to specialize in menopause care and became a social media superstar on Instagram and TikTok with 2 million followers. We discuss her specialized medical practice, her new best-selling and sold-out book… The Galveston Diet, menopausal health, and the importance of exercise, nutrition, supplements, fiber, and hormones in midlife. Some Highlights: How should we be treating menopause? It’s a natural process that has solutions. - Pt. 2 of 2 - Taming Weight Gain, Menopause, and Inflammation With Dr. Mary Claire Haver, The Galveston DietEP 72 Pt. 2 of 2: Menopause can feel like a midlife cluster, especially if you’re trying to navigate it on your own. Are you wondering about the best way to stay in shape during midlife and menopause? Do you find yourself reaching for the sugar-filled treat to satisfy midlife cravings? Ready to learn exactly how much protein you should be eating? And the key to really preventing chronic illness in midlife? Menopause and midlife are not excuses for us to suffer from stubborn weight and inflammation…get ready to learn everything you need to know about taking control of your midlife health. Welcome back to part two of my discussion with “menopause normalizer and problem solver”, Dr. Mary Claire Haver. In this episode, we discuss the third pillar of The Galveston Diet, protein, how the heck to calculate how much you need in midlife, and the importance of exercise, which I learned isn’t just about toning the midlife muffin top. We wrap up part 2 by going over key measurements for midlife body composition, ratios of muscle-to-fat, and how those ratios can give you crucial information about your health. And remember if you haven't heard part 1 then go listen to that first! Some Highlights: What type of exercise should I be incorporating in midlife? What’s Omega three and how do I get more of it? How do I know if I’m getting enough protein? Do yourself a favor and incorporate avocado in your daily snack list because half an avocado a day contains half the daily minimum fiber for a midlife woman. - Midlife Mirror Mirror on the Wall…Who am I After All?EP 65: Do you ever wish that you had a magic mirror to give you the answers to all of your midlife questions? Well, it’s not that easy…Unfortunately, the magic mirror isn’t always truthful and can create distorted images of how we view ourselves. What do you see when you look into the midlife mirror? In this week’s minisode, “Midlife Mirror Mirror on the Wall…Who am I After All?”, I talk about the importance of how we define ourselves in this midlife process. I take a look at society’s impossible aesthetic standards and expectations of midlife women. I dive deep into how famous midlife women, who were once viewed with a spotlight and seen as perfect representations of how a woman should look and act, are now being cast aside because they are past their “prime”. I give examples of six midlife celebrities who are pushing back against Hollywood’s rejection of midlife & aging women and showing what the “midlife remix” is all about. We do not need a magic mirror or society’s standards to tell us our worth, beauty and sex appeal! We have to tell ourselves this. We have to stand up for ourselves, put ourselves in the forefront and choose what we want in midlife…without the approval of the external peanut gallery. This minisode is part of the Fun Midlife Sh*t Quickie Minisode Series . This new minisode series is highlighting resonating & edgy midlife sh*t from my IG, solos, and short pop in guests on stuff we are all thinking about, but maybe too embarrassed to ask…and, of course, more random stream of consciousness rants with loads of sarcasm, relatable humor mixed with expert info. Peeps, it’s the end of summer and I’m selling all the rest of the “f*cks” I have left…and for pretty cheap too lol! What does your midlife brain yard sale consist of? This minisode is part of the Fun Midlife Sh*t Quickie Minisode Series . This new minisode series is highlighting resonating & edgy midlife sh*t from my IG, solos, and short pop in guests on stuff we are all thinking about, but maybe too embarrassed to ask…and, of course, more random stream of consciousness rants with loads of sarcasm, relatable humor mixed with expert info.
