Miracles do happen
Laura Doyle has an interesting approach to ending world divorce, it’s in the hands of the wife! Her podcast provides insight to women’s marriages and their journey to be better wives. This is a great support of Laura’s book and ultimately her community of surrendered wives. I joined the community after my husband and I split up; I joined her Diamond program and after 15 months my husband came back home. I saw the miracle happen and continued to happen every day I practiced these skills and surrendered my old ways. Listen to this podcast and take it a step further if you feel hopeless in your relationship.

What the world needs!
Laura is getting the message out that we don’t have to be unhappy in our marriage. And we can do something about it. The skills line up with scripture so don’t let that stand in your way of fixing your marriage today. Highly recommend!

Painting women as the problem in relationships
As someone in a emotionally and verbally abusive relationship I was hoping this podcast would shine some light on the topic. Most of the episodes imply that the woman is the reason for the abuse she has to endure. Other episodes seem to be a promotion for her book.

Mixed Feelings
I have very mixed feelings about the advice given in this podcast. I believe if your married to an emotionally stable man, then this advice is probably worthwhile to take in. There are some good nuggets to the advice if you are in this type of relationship and you are looking to improve your side of the street. A partnership takes two, it’s a dance… so yes, you need to be accountable for you first and foremost to build any good relationship. If your relationships has any form abuse in it coming from your partner, I would be on alert to taking this advice in. I feel there are layers of abuse justification, covert victim blaming, and insinuating that it’s really only up to the woman to fix everything to get the relationship you want. If you are with someone who needs to learn how to take accountability, is abusive, has an abusive past and is acting it out in your relationship… it’s not up to You to Fix Them or their problems, that is their work! Let’s not victim blame this scenario and cause further abuse. This podcast is highly geared towards non- abusive heteronormative marriages. Not that this is mentioned at all, but looking at same sex marriages it’s also the same… take accountability for how you act, be respectful, learn to apologize, treat your partner with honesty, love, and how you want to be treated. If you both take responsibility for what you bring to the relationship and keeping your side of the “street” healthy… all will be well. Haven’t read the book, haven’t done the workshop, this review is only for the podcast.

I love this podcast!!!
I love this podcast. Laura’s 6 intimacy skills are so helpful for all my relationships, and it is so valuable to hear the results of other women trying the skills in this podcast. I love to hear examples of the skills in action and to apply them to my own life!

Simple and effective
After countless failed relationships, I could never figure out what kept happening!! Without fail my sweet, attentive, affectionate partner would slowly morph into a resentful, cold, distant man. I tried making my husband go to counseling with me to fix him, but he wasn’t that happy about it 😂!! So I searched for a way to fix my relationship without including him, and found Laura Doyle. I realized I had been neglecting myself for a very long time. I also realized I had no idea how to love my husband as a man, I only knew how to love my husband like a child, and that does NOT promote intimacy. After doing the “big apology” and explaining to him that I was sorry for disrespecting him, he lit up. Now we make love almost every night, he asks for kisses and cuddles, and he tells me how he’s feeling a lot more. I have my sweetheart back!!! Thank you so much. There’s no words that can explain how grateful I am. God bless you!!!!

I’m so grateful these skills came into my life when they did. The principles of real Love and Respect helped my marriage many years ago, but this fresh and honest look at my definition of respect has brought new life and healing to this season of my marriage. Thank you Laura for continuing to carry this easily misunderstood message.

Good content, not great delivery
I really love the information and content on this podcast and I’m really thankful for it. I look forward to each one to help me continue to learn the skills. Hearing real life examples is so helpful. My only criticism is that it really sounds like you’re reading off a script and makes it sound less genuine. The way you read what you’re saying makes it sound fake and scripted. Also, I am sorry, I know this sounds critical, but I really would love if it didn’t sound like there’s a bunch of spit in your mouth when you talk. Those two things make it hard to listen to, but the information is so valuable.

Happy Wife
I started reading Laura’s books just a few months into my marriage. I’m so glad I did. Things were already tough being newly married, but I’m sure they would’ve been worse if I hadn’t found her material. The podcast is an excellent addition to the books and helps me stay on top of the skills. I re-read each of the books yearly. Her advice is truly just that great.

When I’m having a bad day, I turn here to be lifted up! I’m thrilled the valuable insights (that single handedly saved my marriage) from Laura Doyle’s Books and coaching have made it to this bite sized, shareable, podcast. I love the format. Tips at the beginning, then hearing other women’s testimonies and how women have applied these 6 intimacy skills! Oh and the bad advice is everywhere and very entertaining. The information shared makes me want to be a better person and keeps reminding me to take the high road. I’m a better me and my family is restored thanks to Laura Doyle books and podcast. Every woman should know this info! Thank you for the beautiful, inspiring, work you do. I’m so grateful! 🙏🍀

Not a universal fix for your marriage.
I have been married 8 years now. I read Laura’s book around year 4 in a desperate attempt to stop the emotional abuse. I put her advice to work and just got made fun of for it. I stopped being disrespectful and started using her “ouch” technique and would tell my husband my root feelings- fear or hurt feelings. It just fueled his nasty words to me even more. It wasn’t until I stopped engaging with him completely and had a plan to leave that he changed his tune, and that was after some physical abuse had taken place. I had to set very strong boundaries of what I wouldn’t put up with- name calling, screaming, getting in my face, throwing and destroying things, threatening me, pushing or grabbing me. It took nearly a year of me walking away and not responding when he behaved like that before he slowly began to modify the behavior. You can’t shut your mouth to emotional or physical abuse and expect it to change. My husband has been on a very long road of counseling and personal growth. It still gets ugly and no amount of me taking care of myself and shutting my mouth makes a difference. He had to become accountable for his anger and emotional instability first. The advice Laura gives is probably good if you’re in a relationship with a man who occasionally gets frustrated or mad at your disrespect or withdraws from you. I would NOT use her advice if your man is emotionally or physically aggressive. This podcast seems to be simply a echo chamber for selling her coaching and her books and I even wonder if these testimonials are real. Some seem very canned. While I feel like her advice would be good for a relationship with an emotionally stable man, it did NOT work for me. Feel free to try it if you are in an abusive relationship, but be prepared to walk away to protect yourself.

Toxic
This podcast and these books are toxic. Please, seek out actual therapy and not these books or podcast. No one deserves to live abused or unloved. Husbands don’t deserve for wives to secretly fix them. This is not intimacy. This is not marriage. This is perverse.

A Little Icky
While I do enjoy some of the aspects of this podcast (and I have only listened to the first 5 episodes, so I can’t speak for the remainder of the podcast) I do think some of the advice is a little icky. While I understand that this is for wives and isn’t a book for what husbands should do, it seemed like the answer to every single problem was “You as the wife are not doing enough, do more and change yourself and suddenly your husband will shower you with gifts and be a totally different man.” It didn’t seem like any sort of partnership or working together to fix problems. In fact, it was more like you shouldn’t even bring up ANY problems to your husband because it will make you seem naggy, so you should just do everything privately on your own to fix the marriage. I was really hoping for more specific examples as well, rather than just talking about the amazing results and not so much how they got those results.

Trust it
I’ve been slowly, steadily learning and using these skills. It started with the free E-book. This podcast was a game changer for my brain to start “getting it” and for my behavior to become more consistent. There is no perfection in me or my marriage but there is a crazy amount of progress in the right direction. Before, things were nothing short of disastrous and I was a scared, lonely, mess, grasping for control. Now I honestly can say I feel loved most days and the amount of dignity and peace I have reclaimed is a miracle to me. I am humbled to have learned the truth about my role. I am grateful for these skills. I feel like no matter what happens, I will be ok and I am a better version of me than I ever thought possible. Listen. Have an open mind. You will grow.

Some okay advice, some dangerous
This is probably a good podcast for very young women and/or new brides who just need to adjust their perspective and expectations. On the other hand, excusing abuse and victim-blaming is completely inexcusable, and telling women to change themselves to prevent further abuse is dangerous advice. From the handful of episodes I got through, most of this advice is useless to anyone who already understands that husbands are actual human beings with their own needs, not servants or Prince Charming, existing only to make his wife happy.

Good advice interspersed with abuse justification
I’ve found this podcast to have some good and sounds advice, but it is packed between layers of abuse justification. I would fear for any woman who finds this podcast and is in an abusive relationship. Laura’s emphasis on “it’s always you that needs to change, not them” can lead to some positive behavior changes, but can also cause many women in abusive situations to rationalize staying with a husband who is negative, abusive, and dangerous. I’ve heard personal stories from woman on this podcast who were in abusive relationships before and on the brink of leaving their husbands when they found Ms. Doyle’s podcast and decided to stay and change themselves. That can only go so far. This is one of the most disturbing podcasts I’ve ever heard.

End World Divorce!
It’s so good to hear such vulnerable yet inspiring stories from real women who were struggling. I feel like it’s so hard to find women role models these days. So many women just put on a front about their “happy” relationships and then suddenly they get divorced. Or it’s often assumed that after being together so long that bickering and resentment are just a normal part of being married. This is one of the rare places you can hear directly how women transformed their struggling relationships into something beautiful, romantic and fun again. This community is the most accountable, vulnerable and safe space for women I have ever experienced. It is changing my life and I am becoming so empowered in my relationship! Thank you Laura for your devotion to End World Divorce!

Love this work
I’m close to getting a coach. I had moved out of my home with my husband and living with my mother seeking professional help when this book was referred to me. The empowered wife. I had my doubts but the chapter on respect drove me to keep listening and even try a few key phrases out on my husband. I was getting results instantly. I can’t wait to continue on this path. This advice is so tangible, logical, and fun too. I’m so grateful.

Amazing, Honest and Inspiring!!
For me, hearing some pretty awful and hopeless sounding stories of seemingly crappy husbands and failed marriages from REAL women around the world and how they were able to turn their marriages around has been so uplifting for me!! I thought I was the only one with the worst husband who I mistakenly married! I now have ACTUAL SPECIFIC ACTION STEPS to take in regards to HOW to begin changing my own thoughts, perspective and behavior! Thank you!!! I’m almost done with the Empowered Wife book and I can tell you that these steps DO work! I call up my girlfriends saying omg you will not believe what just happened...it worked. We are not out if the woods but changing imbedded behaviors takes a bit of time. I now have an “instruction manual” for how to handle difficult situations. I’m still dedicated to making this work. I love this podcast and listen daily!

Fixed my relationship
I read the surrendered wife book and listened to the podcast and did the 5 day adored wife challenge on Facebook. This has turned my relationship with my husband around. He is starting to be more affectionate towards me. And saying things I haven’t heard in a very long time. I feel like we are dating again. It gives me the butterflies I use to have with him. We went from getting a divorce to feeling connected and loved. I now know what I was doing wrong all this time!!

I stumbled across your book and website. At first I didn’t believe it. I thought it was a gimmick. I downloaded your roadmap and purchased the audiobook. Wow!!! It is helping. My story is unbelievable but I survived and we are still married. I had a good friend tell me, you don’t destroy your marriage. You don’t let another woman or emotional relationship take what’s yours. My husband said I saved his life and even though I am his wife, he called me his guardian angel. They tried to snatch my daughter. My doctor said it was like a fatal attraction. I am happily married and after 30 plus years we keep going.

I got my husband back and all I had to do was take care of myself!!!
Congratulations Laura!!! I have been so eagerly waiting for this. You and your skills have truly been a game changer for me and my family. I wish you all the best in this endeavor!! Can’t wait to hear you and the empowered women whose lives you have changed for the best. ETA: These podcasts are just a small window into what these intimacy skills are about. It’s important to know that these skills work for women who truly want to stay married and change the culture of the marriage. We, single handedly, have the power to bring the intimacy back but we have to be willing to “exercise” the skills and have faith. It might take days, it might take months, it might take years, but if you are determined, then the magic does happen. It’s also important to know, that just like we take care of our bodies with proper nutrition and exercise on a daily basis, to see the results, we have to stay consistent and stay focused on the ultimate vision: which for many of us who have been part of the program is to have an intimate and passionate relationship.

I was so controlling of my husband... I controlled every aspect of his life. I was disrespectful and showed him I didn’t care it took him 6 years... he slept with my “best friend “ I was furious and so upset hurt and so many things my friend introduced me to Laura’s book the empowered wife it changed my life truly and brought my husband back where he was supposed to be and is giving me that relationship I craved. No. Just no.
I started listening to one of the episodes because it included a testimony from one of her readers (from the book that this podcast is based off of) that went through emotional abuse, but ended up working things out with her husband. I was genuinely interested to hear her story because I’ve gone through emotional abuse before. However, there were several subtle hints from the author and reader that suggests that a wife can adjust what she’s doing to stop verbal and emotional abuse from her husband. Or that she most likely did something to cause the man to become abusive. ✋🏽 Stop right there. There is nothing that a person on the receiving end can do to make an abuser stop being abusive. The abuser needs to identify what’s causing them to act in such a way, seek help, and change. The person on the receiving end shouldn’t have to do anything as they did not deserve to be treated in such a way in the first place. Please do not get brain washed by this “be a good wife” bs.

Disappointing to be totally honest
Let me start by saying I love the Empowered Wife book so I was excited when the podcast was announced but honestly every episode just feels like a long infomercial trying to sell the coach training. The guests talk about how the benefits have dramatically changed their marriages but they don’t really get into what the actual steps were and it feels like the interview is just a teaser to get people to buy the training. It’s disappointing, I wish the guests went into more detail about how they used specific steps to turn things around instead of using vague terms.

Inspirational & Practical
I love the honesty and transparency Laura shares as well as her guests. It is so great to hear the practical way how respect looks to our men, and to hear it in language that we women understand. It is so encouraging to hear story after story how the woman is able to single-handedly transform her marriage without the husband reading a single book, going to counseling, or even know she is “working on the marriage.” And yet, the wife unwittingly inspires her husband to change and grow all on his own. Thanks for starting this Podcast, Laura!

This has changed me overnight
I read Laura’s book a year ago and took what I wanted from it. I did so much self care that I forgot about my man. We stopped arguing as much but the love I craved was still missing. After listening to these heart wrenching/ warming stories in the podcasts I dove in full heartedly. I can feel a change instantly. Mostly it’s in my attitude. I am choosing to see his positive qualities and refusing to say anything negative to my friends (who, frankly, are sick of listening to me complain). These women inspired me and I have forwarded these podcasts to many friends in troubled marriages. It takes a village and I believe we can all work harder to make life better in every way. Thanks Laura for opening my eyes to the role I play in my relationship.

This is a game changer right here!
Wow - all I can say is wow because Laura Doyle saved my marriage! Because of her books and now this podcast, my marriage is full of love, not resentment. She has taught me the skills to be an AMAZING wife and I cannot thank her enough! Do you struggle in your marriage? Is your husband selfish? These questions and more are answered so beautifully in this podcast and in Laura Doyle’s books.

Better than her books!!
I thought “The Empowered Wife” was the pinnacle but honestly these podcasts make understanding their intimacy skills even easier AND hearing stories directly from women who loved them has been a huge help to me! Laura and her guests are SO encouraging and are very concrete about what you need to do to make your marriage thrive!!! I love listening on carpool runs or while doing dishes, perfect 30 minute format!! Bravo Laura and team!!!

Marriage saver
All of the steps you provide have helped my marriage. Thank you!!!! I had the coaching a few years back and yes my marriage was saved however your podcast came at a perfect time. I had started to slip into old habits and the podcasts helped remind me that I am “goddess of light” and to let others do their own thing.

Positive and helpful
Laura Doyle's strategies for wives are very helpful to married women like me – who are always looking to make home life as serene and loving as possible... Thanks so much for focusing on what's possible to change – our own behavior – instead of what's not: that of others!

Every story opened my eyes!
I appreciate every women that shared her personal story with us. Very inspiring! Podcast might be great way to introduce to a friend who needs help for her marriage but she might not have energy to read Laura’s book just because she is suggested to do so,( even though the book could really help her. ) Their real experiences tell how Laura’s six intimacy skills are universal and can save their marriage and increase intimacy with partners even though everyone has faced different challenges. I m learning a lot every time. Just listening once is not enough for me. Until I can apply the skills and mindsets to my partnership, I will definitely continue to listen to this podcast. Thank you Laura and her team.

Highly recommend
Where do I begin to tell you all the wonderful things about this program? The Empowered Wife is all about becoming your best self, and, in turn, contributing to your most important relationships in the best way possible. Laura Doyle’s proven program gave me not only the insight into what needed to change, but it also gave me the skills necessary to make the changes. Those changes had a profound impact on all my relationships. This program is about honoring yourself and those around you, especially your significant other. It’s about respect, self-control, and humility; forgiveness, boundaries, and trust. At the same time, it’s about feeling fulfilled, and loved, and cherished. The practical advice from caring and encouraging coaches, and the support from the online community of women, is invaluable. I would highly recommend this program to any woman who is ready for a positive change in her relationship with her significant other, regardless of how hopeless it seems. You’ll be so glad you did!

Saved my marriage
I cannot thank Laura Doyle enough for giving me a way out of the darkest days of my marriage, which wasn’t a marriage anymore by the time I read the books. It’s too bad most of us wait until we hit rock bottom to make changes and begin to grow in the best version of ourselves. Her advice never gets old, is simple and practical, and I need it on repeat every day! Having it as a podcast makes for a perfect way to review on the go. I love hearing from the guests, those who have lived out the advice in all types of marriage situations. Thanks, Laura!

180 degree turn 🤦♀️ What was I thinking???
I was desperate about getting my husband to listen to me and change! So I literally googled for answers...That's how I ran into Laura Doyle, 2 weeks ago. I joined her Facebook group right away, and decided to get the 2 books she had on Audible. I started with The Surrendered Wife, which was only about 1 hour long. I was in shock on how logical everything sounded and how I was doing the opposite, or what this modern culture told me to do. I quickly implemented her techniques, and noticed an outstanding change in my husband!!! I have always said that Marriage takes work, but this has made me realize that work/change starts with me. I'm still a newbie in The intamacy skills, but I'm so blessed to have this information at hand and I'm hopeful that things are only going to get better. Laura, I cannot thank you enough!!!

Very authentic heart felt wisdom
I have listened to and read a lot of people/ materials/ seminars to improve my relationship with my husband and I must say that Laura’s approach and experience really resonates. She is practical, real, humble and gentle yet brings powerful truths about how men are wired and how we as women can get our needs met by bringing out the best in them. It’s almost too good to be true but she gives us power by teaching how to serve our men, forgiving and breaking cycles. Her techniques are simple, palatable, reasonable and DO empower. Health, happiness, peace will flow in your life as you listen, learn, heal, implement and try her model.

Laura’s principles saved our marriage
I read the book in 24 hours and started implementing the principles immediately. I journaled our progress and in 7 days things were improving. My husband who was not sure he wanted to be married to me (and likewise for me) was more gentle, kinder and open to me. I’m so glad for this podcast because it will keep the principles fresh in my mind on a daily or as needed basis. I’m so thankful that I could change me and quit trying to change him...because that wasn’t working! God bless you Laura for your courage and wisdom to share these truths to so many.

Worth it
So many tips are counterintuitive and make my flesh and mind scream at times! However I am more interested in having great results than if the process feels a bit awkward. (Isn’t this true with so many of the things that are “worth it” in life? We may not be excited about changing our processes until we feel the benefit of the reward!) I am looking forward to applying information and reporting back on what my results are.

Amazing advice, great personal stories of how to apply
Reading the Empowered Wife changed my perspective and marriage completely. It requires a humble attitude because you must accept that you can only change yourself and your own behavior. You must also accept that working on yourself is what you need to do to change your relationship. The rewards are amazing. I love hearing these personal stories in each podcast about how the guest applied the concepts in this philosophy. My only critique is that I would love to hear stories from women who are not trained coaches in the Laura Doyle program - you know - how the average woman applies and sees results. I realize the coaches are real women who believe in the program so much they were inspired to recreate their lives around it, but I’d still like some more perspectives - maybe some of the coaching clients who can talk about how their coaches helped them through their situation. Thanks for changing my marriage and, really, all my relationships Laura!

Marriage Rocks!
I read Laura’s book 2 years ago and have since recommended copies to all of my friends,(or anyone that’s complaining about their marriages and know that they are married to a good man) I’ve taken her book to Favorite Things Parties and tell women “if you want to have an amazing marriage that is easy AND takes care of you in the process, then read this”... I’ve read over 20 self help marriage books (I’m a self help junkie)... it seems like she has gleaned the best out of all of those books. This book will transform your marriage, but especially it will transform YOU! I just saw that she is starting this podcast... I can’t wait to start listening to episodes. A lot of what she says is counterintuitive to women, so at first it takes conscious effort. For me, it was like “whatever I want to do in this moment.. don’t!”😂😂. And that’s where the magic began! My husband was excited to be with me, he was excited to do for me. I always thought I had married just the “funny guy”.. but he is a romantic. Seeing these results made me never to want to go back. So now when my relationship starts feeling cold or distant, I pull out my trusty book (now podcast) to see where I AM GOING WRONG. And every time it just takes a few tweaks and we are back. We've been married 17 years... and I look forward to another 80. Thank you Laura for saving ME and my marriage!!!!

Still on the fence
First of all, let me say how exited I am for this podcast. I’ve been on the fence about joining Laura Doyle’s program so hoping this gives me a clearer vision on weather to do so. I am giving three stars because it’s hard to listen to all of the guests smacking their tongue before every sentence. And these are the coaches I’m thinking about hiring to help me with my marriage. It just doesn’t sound professional and I worry they will do that on a call with me which will drive me crazy! Also, the interviewer could be more prepared with better questions for her guests.

If in doubt, try it out
Laura Doyle has a method of improving marriages that relies heavily on the belief that a happy woman helps make for a happy marriage. Far from the thought that if you just do more, roll over more, play the door mat more that things will eventually improve, she encourages women to prioritize themselves (put on your oxygen mask first) but also clean up our side of the street. Women today are so busy and wear so many hats that having someone let you know that taking care of yourself is important, indeed critical, is a powerful message. There are no martyrs here just women learning skills, learning what makes us happy and how to be empowered. Come join us :)

LIFE CHANGING
For years I have been recommending Laura Doyle and her intimacy skills to women in relationship. My “so-called” abusive husband actually served 5 years in prison for domestic violence with his previous wife! I knew him from high school and watched the entire court room drama unfold. There was no evidence, no witnesses and she even admitted he never touched her physically in abuse. But, her testimony alone convicted him of verbal and emotional abuse because the VAWA has gone to such extremes that their choke hold over the judicial system has skewed it toward “victims.” This was years ago and we’ve been married now for almost 7 years. I can see how easy it is for me to point my finger at him and call him an abuser because he certainly can trigger my own anger and we can get into some doozy fights BUT when I remember LD’s intimacy skills and practice them regularly, my husband becomes a kinder, gentler, fun-loving and generous provider and protector. I am happier now in life and in my marriage than I have ever been. I can confidently credit Laura Doyle for that.
This is fantastic!

Transformed Wife
Never in a million years did I think I was wrong in controlling my husband in several areas. I just knew I was helping and he definitely needed my help. I could never understand why he was always so defensive, and then critical of me😕. But after reading Laura’s book and listening to her podcasts, I realize I was the one causing most of the problems in our marriage. I was so fearful in many areas, that I knew if he would just do things my way, everything would turn out right. I can’t thank Laura enough for having a different approach to having a happy marriage. I wish that I had this teaching 35 years ago❤️

You Made My Second Chance Possible!
Congratulations and happy birthday as you begin your new, inspiring adventure ... The Empowered Wife Podcast. I love how you spread hope when things seem hopeless and stand for a woman's marriage when she has no where else to turn for support from like-minded women. That is so rare in today's society. When I found you in 2001, that was the beginning of my new journey to a peaceful, playful and passionate marriage. Thank you for being my lighthouse, my beacon of hope in my marriage. You inspired me years ago to want to become a coach so I could help other women who reach out to you for help. Forever grateful... Coach Darlene

Simple Yet Powerful
I found out about Laura’s book from a Facebook group, where she was mentioned as being “controversial”, yet from what they were describing, her ideas seemed to make sense to me. So I ordered the book. Before I received it, I found her Facebook group, which led to finding her program on Amazon, which made me wonder if there was a podcast- and there was! I find that her advice and approach makes a lot of sense, the techniques are easy to learn and remember, and seem to get fast and easily observable results. My husband was very worried about “respect” and I didn’t ever get why he considered things I did as disrespectful. Laura’s ideas have helped me to understand what and why a man may review some things as a respect issue even if I didn’t see it that way. I hope listeners can find some advice that works for them here. Just try it!

At long last!!
I read Laura’s first book - the Surrendered Wife - over a decade ago and it completely changed my life and our now almost 20 year marriage (our anniversary is next week). I’ve read/listened to her subsequent books and watched her shows and now finally I get to listen to her podcasts! This is what I’ve really been waiting for! What a treat and just another way to solidly and apply her teachings. I am a lawyer and a first born so letting my husband lead does not come naturally but when I do and when I show him respect, miracles happen. It’s like magic.

Empowered and changed
I am a self help junkie who sometimes grows skeptical of yet another expert having all of the answers. I found Laura’s work several years ago and the book changed my perspective so much, I engaged with one of her coaches. Her work is transformational not because of some secret sauce, but by being real. I use her skills on a daily basis and while things are far from perfect, that’s no longer the goal - being cherished is! Looking forward to the podcast as another way to keep my skills fresh.

I wish there was a 10 start rating!!!
These podcasts are pure gold. Laura brings real-life stories begining with the nightmares and ending in the happily ever after dreams that every woman hopes for when she says "I do!". Laura includes some "how to"s in her happy breezy, I hear you; you can do this too" way that has earned her a worldwide following. The second part of each podcast is an interview with an actual wife who describes herroadblocks to happiness and then, how those roadblocks lost their significance as she implemented the skills. I know this works, because I'm a real-life true success story too!!

Congratulations Laura on this inspiring podcast! I was in a painful, lonely and verbally abusive marriage when I read your book, got a coach and began implementing the skills. From Surrendered Single to Empowered Wife!
I was first introduced to Laura’s book, as a 30 year old single woman who was super successful in her career, but struggled to find a soul mate! 3 months after reading Surrender Single, I met my true love and we were married a year later! Seven years into my marriage, I found myself struggling again to maintain the happiness and joy I experienced as a new wife! I was exhausted, angry, and generally a little self-righteous when I went back to the book store to find a book to “fix” my husband! After reading Empowered Wife, I could see the role that I was playing in my own unhappiness and I knew that I need more help than just reading the book alone! After Laura Doyle private coaching and experiencing a total transformation of my own marriage, I became a Certified Laura Doyle Coach! 15 years later, I am happier than I was in the honeymoon period of my marriage! I can not say enough about this honest, humble woman who was insightful enough to think “I am going to research this “marriage thing” to fix my own marriage, find some answers, and pay it forward to help other wives!” Thank you Laura Doyle! It is my honor and privilege to be on this journey with you to end world divorce! Coach Julie

- 167: Step-by-Step Instructions on Fixing Your MarriageWhen I first interviewed happily married women on their secrets, they said these crazy things that made no sense to me. But I was desperate enough to try what they said, and that’s when I got my miracle. My husband showed up like the man who had wooed me, the one I’d fallen in love with. And he’s been showing up that same way ever since. So their crazy ideas were actually the things that worked to make marriage playful and passionate. Who knew that women with actual happy marriages would know what actually works, right? On today’s episode of The Empowered Wife Podcast, we’re talking about step-by-step instructions on fixing your marriage—and some exciting news! Plus, my guest Suzette kept having explosive arguments with her cold, distant husband. She was so lonely. But she made some very specific changes and today her marriage is fun, easy and full of cuddles and playfulness. Even friends and family members have commented on the miracle in her family. Her husband tells his friends to have their wives listen to this podcast. She’s going to explain exactly how she did it.0 comments0

- 164: Insights from the Husband of an Empowered Wife: Part 1If you’ve been listening to the podcast for a while, then you have heard a thing or two about The Six Intimacy Skills™. Well, I have a confession. When I first heard about the Skills, I thought they sounded stupid. I remember thinking, “I am NOT going to do THAAAAT!” I thought they were old-fashioned and just plain yucky. I thought if I apologized for being disrespectful, that would be a step back for all womankind. Good thing I was desperate enough to try the Intimacy Skills because then I saw things so differently through my new perspectacles, not to mention my husband responded so much better. These days, I’m always scheming ways to create opportunities for every woman to try them out, just as an experiment. Just in case they might work for her too. That’s why we started the 5-Day Adored Wife challenge. At the last one, I was impressed to see so many of you grabbing the training with both hands and sharing your incredible results. I could just feel the momentum everyone was getting from all of us doing the same thing at the same time. I was so inspired, it’s one of my favorite things! On today’s episode of The Empowered Wife Podcast, we’re talking about how to become an adored wife in the 5-Day Challenge. Plus, my guest Siya wasn’t sure whether to stay with her unfaithful husband, but today she says she’s full of happiness and serenity, and her marriage is like a dream space. She’s going to tell us how she did it so you can do it too.0 comments0

- 162: 3 Secrets for Preventing an Empty Nest Divorce? [+Statistics]When your kids leave home to spread their wings, it’s exciting! And bittersweet. It’s exactly what you raised them to do but also a letdown because you won’t get to see them as much and they no longer need you as much—which is great but can leave you feeling empty. If co-parenting was a big part of the glue that kept your marriage together, then the new quiet in the house can feel sad, especially if your marriage is struggling. While the divorce rate among those 65 and up has tripled in recent decades, nearly two-thirds of couples actually become closer after the kids move out. So how do you become part of that group? On today’s episode of The Empowered Wife Podcast, we’re talking about 3 secrets for even greater intimacy as an empty nester. Plus, after 35 years of marriage, Basya’s husband relapsed in his addiction and ran up a huge debt. She thought her only option was to resign herself to the situation, but then she discovered a power within herself that changed everything. Today they enjoy warmth and affection, and just when she thinks things can’t get better, they do. She’s going to tell us what she did so you can do it too.0 comments0
- How Does Chronic Pain Affect Your MarriageAs you already know if you or your husband has chronic pain, it can put a big strain on a marriage! When one of you is always hurting, it’s an ever present challenge to emotional and physical intimacy. Just like when you’re sick, it’s very hard to be at your best when you’re going “ouch ouch ouch” all day. It can also interfere with receiving or giving physical affection, which is frustrating and can make you feel lonely on top of everything else. If you’re not sure how that pain is ever going to be alleviated, it can be so discouraging and leave you feeling guilty that you’re not able to be the kind of wife you want to be and hopeless that you’ll ever have a happy marriage. So much seems out of your control, it’s hard to know what you can ever do to improve the situation, especially if your marriage feels like it’s unraveling already. So how can you even begin to fix your marriage when that’s happening? On today’s episode of The Empowered Wife Podcast, I’ll share three ways you can. Plus, my guest Janice knew she was a controlling and sometimes downright cruel wife, but she had no idea how to stop. Even early on, the constant tension at their house was punctuated by her husband’s angry outbursts. Then she learned a different approach, and today she is thrilled to feel emotional stability within herself and a culture of peace, comfort and mutual respect in her marriage. She’s going to tell us how she did it so you can do it too.0 comments0
- 160: 4 Steps to Fight for Your Marriage When SeparatedIf you’ve ever been separated, I don’t need to tell you what a stressful, heartbreaking experience it is. It’s also awkward and embarrassing to have to explain to everybody what’s going on. You don’t want their pity or for the kids to get scared or start asking really hard questions. You just want to fix what’s broken and get back on track already. On today’s episode of The Empowered Wife Podcast, we’re talking about 4 steps to fight for your marriage when separated. I’ll share a four-step game plan that our students have used to make their marriages last and thrive after separation, even when he said he was never coming back. My guest Izzy was devastated about her husband’s emotional affair and addiction to porn. He wanted to divorce when her maternity leave ended. Then Izzy made a big change, and things became dramatically different at her house. She and her husband now feel like a team, their physical intimacy better than ever. She’s going to tell us what she did so you can do it too.0 comments0
- 158: 2 Cures for an Emotionally Detached HusbandWhen your husband is there but not there, it’s lonely. It’s also stressful and exhausting. When you’re reaching out trying to get reassurance and he doesn’t respond, it only reinforces how disconnected you are, which hurts. A lot. If this goes on for a long time, you feel a wave of hopelessness that it will never get better because that’s just who he is. Then you feel disappointed that you didn’t see it sooner, before you chose him. But his emotional detachment doesn’t have to be a life sentence of loneliness. On today’s episode of The Empowered Wife Podcast, we’re talking about two cures for an emotionally detached husband. Plus, my guest Sarah was appalled by her man’s health choices because of what he ate, drank and smoked. She felt that his views on raising children could be a dealbreaker. But then she read something that gave her some answers and there was a huge change. She now trusts him wholeheartedly. She’s going to describe what she did so you can do it too.0 comments0
- 157: This Happens When Your Marriage Drama EndsWhen my marriage was full of drama, it was incredibly taxing. I felt so overwhelmed and consumed by our problems. It was painful and exhausting to fight all the time and to feel so hopeless that it would ever get better. It robbed me of energy for other relationships, work, and having fun. What I know now is that anything that’s sucking out a lot of energy and focus pulls you away from your true calling. With so many relationships falling apart, many people are losing vital energy on Needless Emotional Turmoil. The important things they’re supposed to be contributing, things they’re called to do and the world desperately needs them to do, are not getting the time and energy they deserve. If you’re in survival mode in your relationship like I was, you may not even know what your calling is! On today’s episode of The Empowered Wife Podcast, we’re talking about what happens when your marriage drama ends. Plus, my guest Kathy and her husband had been sleeping in separate beds for six months. She didn't think he would ever change, but then she got the Six Intimacy Skills™. That was twenty years ago, and she gets tears in her eyes when she talks about how wonderful her marriage still is. She became a Certified Laura Doyle Relationship Coach then a Master Relationship Coach then a Master Coach for Relationship Coaches and the CEO of a multimillion-dollar coaching organization. She's going to talk with us about what happens when you end your relationship drama for good.0 comments0
- 156: 3 Actions to take if your Husband Looks at Other Females OnlineWhen you fell in love with your husband, he made you feel beautiful, sexy and special. So it can be crushing to find out that he’s looking at other women online. It can make you feel undesirable, disappointed and less-than, not to mention lowering your opinion of him. Why would he sink so low to sneak around and look at sleazy strangers? Is this really who you married? Naturally you just want him to stop looking—for good. Fortunately, you can restore your confidence, get the respect you deserve, and preserve the passion. On today’s episode of The Empowered Wife Podcast, we’re talking about three actions to take if your husband looks at other women online. Plus, my guest Taylor was tired of her husband’s heavy drinking and how controlling HE was. On their ten-year anniversary, she felt trapped and resentful, wishing she were with someone else. Then she started using a particular phrase and today her marriage is better than she ever thought possible. Plus her husband mostly stopped drinking. She’s going to tell us what she did so you can do it too!0 comments0
- 155: What to do if He Doesn't Want You Anymore and it HurtsIf he doesn't want you anymore, it does hurt—really bad. Whether his actions are speaking louder than words and he’s too busy to spend time with you or he’s saying he doesn’t want you or making plans to leave or has already left, it can give you the excruciating impression that you’re unlovable. And there’s no lonelier feeling than that. Well-meaning friends can make it even worse by telling you to stop loving him or stop trying to make him love you. They might advise you to cut off all ties with him. Sure, you could do that. But what if that’s not what your heart is telling you to do? Maybe there’s a good reason you still love someone who doesn’t seem to be loving you back right now. While you may wish that things could go back to the way they were before, maybe there’s something even better waiting for you. At least, that’s what I see happen with students of the Six Intimacy Skills™ who use the Connection Framework. They’ve gone through this crushing experience of feeling completely rejected and unloved, and they come out the other side saying their marriage is better than ever. How can you do that too? - 154: 5 Ways to Maintain Balance in a RelationshipWhen things were out of balance in my marriage, I was seething with resentment about my husband not doing enough chores or making enough money, which left me having to make up for him in both areas. It was very stressful and lonely to be stuck carrying these heavy burdens, but I didn’t see any way out. Maybe you’ve been there too. Fortunately, I learned a practice that completely changed all that. Today my relationship feels much more balanced, and far from doing everything around here, I feel well taken care of and even spoiled! It may even be out of balance the other way, with him doing practically everything and me just coasting along. And I’m married to the same guy, so go figure. - 153: 3 Tips to Deal with Relationship DoubtsEverybody has doubts about their relationship from time to time. It’s painful when you feel like your values don’t match, or your husband is engaging in behavior that you never would have condoned, or his parenting is not at all what you see your children needing to thrive. What if such doubts make you question your own judgment about having said “I do”? It’s an exhausting and scary place to be. What if your marriage is a big mistake—then you should leave, right? But what if you devastate your husband and kids and end up breaking your own heart too? It’s a terrible quandary not knowing what the right decision is. It’s tempting to jump on the fence and stay there. But doubt is the devil. It eats away at the joy and connection you could otherwise be having if you could find your faith, and it pretends that you have no choice but to suffer or leave. On today’s episode of The Empowered Wife Podcast, we’re talking about 3 tips to deal with relationship doubts. With no physical intimacy for two years, my guest Irena and her husband were both miserable. The marriage counselor told them they had no chance of survival and fired them as clients. - 152: The Adored Wife RoadmapA student named Gigi told me she wanted intimacy in her marriage but didn’t really know what it looked like. “I’ve been married for over 20 years,” she confessed, “and I feel like I just don’t even know what intimacy is.” I knew what she meant because I was similarly baffled early in my marriage. Was intimacy purely physical–just another way to say “sex”? What did emotional intimacy look like? Whatever it was, I knew I wanted it. And although I knew I had experienced it at times, I had no idea why or how to create more of it. I didn’t realize I was unwittingly crushing the emotional and physical connection in my marriage. I didn’t know that intimacy was a matter of expertise and that there were Six Intimacy Skills™ that would help me feel lovable and loved every single day. On today’s episode of The Empowered Wife Podcast, we’re talking about the roadmap that will give you these Skills. My guest Charlie was angry and confronted her husband about his lack of help with their financial life and lack of activity in the bedroom. Then they separated. But Charlie had an epiphany about how to solve the problems in her marriage and today they are back together, the physical intimacy is frequent, and he compliments her all the time. She’s going to tell us what she did so you can do it too. Plus, the Worst Relationship Advice of the Week Award goes to a bumper sticker about what to expect when you’re married. But it’s got it all wrong!0 comments0

That’s why you’re committing for life in front of God and everybody! You met the right person, who miraculously felt all melty with you just like you did with him. Your marriage will definitely last forever and ever–the end. Maybe he has an anger problem and you notice that the “forever” part seems longer than it did during that “I do” session. It’s a big accomplishment to stay married forever. I used to think it was just luck, but now I know that there are powerful habits that contribute to marriage longevity. On today’s episode of The Empowered Wife Podcast, we’re talking about what makes a marriage last forever. - 148: What is Cheating in a Relationship? If you’re asking yourself what cheating is, that means you’re already between a rock and a hard place trying to figure out what to do. Like, what if he’s sending inappropriate flirty messages to his ex from high school but you know he hasn’t seen her in person? Or he’s texting a female colleague all the time and won’t show you his phone but says nothing is going on? What if you overhear him saying he has feelings for someone else? Or you find out he’s got an online dating profile? It sure feels icky to know he’s having intimate conversations with a woman who isn’t you. Of course you want him to stop before he crosses the line, which brings up some very tough questions: How should you react? Does this mean your husband can’t be faithful? Does it mean he’s going to leave you? Can you even repair things from here, or is your marriage doomed to be another divorce statistic? Should you give him an ultimatum that you’ll divorce unless he stops? Or should you try to be understanding but insist on marriage counseling? On today’s episode of The Empowered Wife Podcast, we’re talking about what cheating is in a relationship. To say my guest Brenda was disillusioned about marriage is an understatement. She was resentful about always having to be the responsible one and questioning whether she’d made a good decision to marry her husband in the first place. But then she tried an experiment and was amazed that it led to immediate closeness, connection and the realization that she has a good man. Today she says she has the true partnership she always wanted. She’s going to tell us what she did so you can do it too. If you’re not feeling understood, it’s like you’re missing a nutrient in your diet, and you start to feel malnourished. In today’s episode of The Empowered Wife Podcast, I’m revealing what to do when your husband doesn’t understand you. My guest Charlotte says there was no trust or connection in her marriage. - 144: My Husband is Nicer to Other WomanOne of the worst feelings is when you’re not getting your husband’s love and attention. And, to make things worse, he’s giving it to other women. Like when his voice gets warm and happy when talking to the kids’ teachers or a co-worker. So what should you do? How do you tell him that he’s being inappropriate and to stop embarrassing you? Especially if you already told him and he’s acting like it’s no big deal even though it’s hurting you? You don’t deserve that. In today’s episode of The Empowered Wife Podcast, I’m revealing 3 ways to respond when your husband is being nicer to other women than he is to you.
