Discussion with Ian Rowe
I thoroughly enjoyed today’s discussion with Ian Rowe. When the two of you spoke of children raised in single parent households turning into adults who do not want the same for themselves I thought, yes, yes, yes! I can’t help but notice all of my well meaning friends who came from intact families feel they cannot say a two parent family is best ( though they have replicated that model). As a child of divorce I’m often the only person in the conversation who will offer that obvious assessment.

Always rewarding listening to Ayaan Hirsi Ali. She and her guests challenge the listener’s mind. Amazing how well Ms. Ali verbalizes her listener’s point of view even better than the listener herself/himself might say it and English is not Ms. Ali’s original language. That in itself is very inspiring.

Outstanding.
Refreshing, brave, interesting and honest. Thank you, Ayaan. In the flurry of right vs left politics, you offer a fresh perspective that’s not aggressive and absolutist, but thoughtful and informed. I feel more engaged, more brave, and more confident when listening, because of your hard work and the great perspectives your guests bring to the show.

I found this discussion very interesting and thought provoking. I am a center left liberal that is frustrated with this surge in woke-ism. I don’t know much about CRT but I do believe that the far left and far right are grand standing on this subject to use to their own political gains. The lack of civilized discussion is very frustrating. I would however like to hear your views on the far right and their conspiracy thinking, as well as their interference in public education in terms of subjects such as evolution, religion etc….

Relevancy and logic
Love that Ayaan always seems to always ask the question in my head that is the most logical “next” question. With a disarming subtleness, she still hits the point we most want to hear. Her podcast is a perfect podcast to just know you got smarter by hearing her interviews. Keep up the great work!

Thought-provoking and enlightening
I really enjoy Ayaan’s thoughtful exploration into unpopular and controversial topics. I especially appreciate her critical review of subjects from her perspective as an immigrant and a committed believer in Western values. My favorite episode so far is her one on cultural values and social attitudes. It gave me, a U.S. citizen and resident, a compassionate yet honest perspective on Muslim immigration from two people (Ayaan and guest) who made the journey themselves and became committed supporters of Western ideals. Thank you for sharing your insights with me, Ayaan. I could not have gotten them anywhere else! Cheers

Sober analysis about the challenges we face incorporating tribal cultures into western society. Absorbing comparatively conservative religious traditions into secular/liberal communities. How to liberate vulnerable women/children from archaic customs w/out demonizing entire clans . Aayan is bravery , resilience and dignity personified.

Homage to Reasoning over Feelings
In a culture in which emotions are above reason, it is so refreshing to listen to this podcast. Ms. Hirsi Ali is one of the few contemporary intellectuals that hasn’t yielded to the “like me” phenomenon and is willing to talk about difficult unpopular subjects in spite of the pressure of our cancel culture. I’m a fan! There is still some growth as far as hosting and interviewing but, it is quickly polishing and becoming a must listen to. There are still a lot of people for whom feelings are subordinate to reason and reject “truthphobia”. These people will appreciate this podcast.

Ayaan is awesome
This is probably the dumbest review ever written, but here goes....... :) I’ve heard Ayaan on several different podcasts now, and I’m determined to start reading her books. Actually, I may go the audio book route, since I find her voice very soothing and reassuring. Which I guess is kind of weird, since the subjects she discusses are not really that soothing OR reassuring.... But I digress. (Maybe it’s the old, “I could listen to her read the phone book” type of thing. By the way, for those of you who are too young...you see, we used to have these huge books printed yearly with phone numbers in them. And...ah nevermind) Anyway....As the father of 3 children, but especially two girls in their late teens early 20s...Ayaan is someone I am hopeful that they will read and emulate as well. Most importantly, I wish I had her courage, to speak up in my community, work place, etc. But I am ashamed to say that I’m often afraid to freely speak my opinions of disagreement with “woke ideology” and “leftest dogma”. I AM a firm believer in the need for Diversity & Inclusion of THOUGHT and SPEECH (although I know that isn’t what is meant by D&I these days). I’m also a firm believer that MORE speech, not LESS speech is needed...&...that MORE discussion of differing opinions, not LESS, are always the way to go”. But unfortunately, all too often I find myself weighing my need to speak up, against my need to continue to support my family... and often I find myself thinking “NO...this is not the hill to die on today” (figuratively)so to speak. I am thankful that those like Ayaan exist, and I’m hopeful that I’ll find my courage one day as well! I know you are presently an atheist, but I still wish you all of Gods blessings, protection, and continued providential protection. By the way, please don’t let the horrible actions and behavior of “Christians” turn you away from Jesus’s message and story. (I know, I know.. Why ‘d he have to ruin this review with his religious beliefs???..Oh brother!) But seriously, you are amazing! Take care and God bless...Love Dave

Good but could be better
The Nikki Haley podcast was a serious puff piece; I understand the need to let pod guests speak, but several of Halley’s opinions needed to be challenged and substantiated. That said, Ali’s calm manner of speaking and articulate voice are a most welcome contribution to the world wide pod dialogue.

Exceptionally Compelling
As a western young man from a middle-class family, my upbringing couldn’t have differed more from Ayaan’s. And yet, I find that she has an incredible ability to communicate powerful wisdom in a way that all can empathize with and relate to. She is proof that even though we all have different stories, we’re not all as different than we initially think. Give this podcast a listen if you want to know what I mean. Thank you, Ayaan, for everything you’ve taught me. Keep up the good work.

Brilliant!
I have been interested in Ayaan Hirsi Ali for a number of years having read her two first books. She is unquestionably brilliant and courageous. I have just listened to her first full length podcast with Sam Harris. I have listened to a number of Harris’ podcasts and enjoyed his interviews with both Megyn Kelly and Ben Shapiro. I don’t always agree with his views, but I respect his unquestionable integrity. This interview between two old friends discussing issues that are paramount in our current day was fascinating and insightful. There are no overriding political issues here, just an open and free discussion about the attempts by Woke culture to shut up anyone who doesn’t toe the ever changing mark of wokeness. This is a must hear podcast for anyone, Republican or Democrat, who still believes in freedom of speech and the fair exchange of ideas.

A podcast that makes you think and ask questions.
Brilliant topics and smart exchange of ideas and opinions. A podcast that makes you question the way we look at issues. If you have religious or doctrine believes, put them aside and listen to different perspectives. Last, a bit of constructive criticism. The sound of this podcast is incredible. So much so that, I can hear every breath and every time a person swallows. Making it a bit uncomfortable and awkward. Keep please that in mind! Thank you

Speaking Up for Women
When I was in college my mom presented me with Ayaan’s book, “Infidel.” It opened my eyes to things that were happening to women that I had never heard about in the mainstream media. I continue to listen and applaud this amazing woman’s bravery - supporting women around the world by shining a light on the things nobody seems to want to speak about. Thank you, Ayaan, I’m so glad you have invested your time and energy into this podcast.

The kind of voice everyone should take a deep breath and listen to
That Ayaan Hirsi Ali is so controversial among anybody who isn’t a theocrat is odd, but that’s the world we live in. Those both on the left and the right would benefit from her calm, rational analysis of various questions. Even if everyone doesn’t always agree, we need less moral outrage, and more reasonable, measured debate of issues where nothing is off limits.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali launches a podcast
I was reminded of my Western Civilization courses I took back in the day. An open discussion of our traditions of freedom and how they were arrived at was a part of that learning. And although this was but a passing reference from the host in the conversation with Mr. Harris, it really struck me that this is the basis for any honest and fruitful exchange. I look forward to further installments.

Too often podcasts focus on one side or the other and creating enemies of opposing opinions. This seems to try to thread the common sense line between these extremes, and that’s refreshing.
