My daughter in her first year of college told me about some mage named Tacco Taco. I had to listen. I think I’m on my fourth time starting over from the beginning. The interaction between the family is great to listen to.

Long overdue listen
My boyfriend has been raving about TAZ since I've met him and I was always hesitant to listen. I wasn’t into D&D and it just didn’t seem like my cup of tea. After running out of episodes from my own podcasts, I decided to try TAZ. I have binged every episode/arc over the past two months and it has been WORTH IT. These guys are hilarious and know to keep someone entertained even if they aren’t into role playing games. The stories are well thought out and the characters are amazing. Even if D&D isn’t your thing, TRY THIS. Now one of my favorite podcasts!!!

Not good. At all
Sorry but I tried to get into the voices but these guys can’t keep a string of thought longer than 3 seconds without seguing somewhere else or being interrupted by each other. It reminds me of all the hours wasted back when I’d play P&P RPGs waiting to get to the meat of the game. People who really need to listen to themselves speak, I guess.

Mostly good with some stumbles
The Balance campaign will always be iconic, and Amnesty is absolutely amazing. Graduation was fine, but was an example of a first time DM biting off more than he could chew. Ethersea honestly didn’t really grab me, although the mini-world building campaign they did using the quiet year was spectacular. Unfortunately, the current steeplechase lost me and I stopped listening. I’ll probably come back for the next campaign.

Try Steeplechase
Solid plug for the new storyline, Steeplechase. Justin knocks it out of the park with the voices (62 voices by episode 13), and the camaraderie is clear to see. Getting to do an awesome RPG with you brothers is one thing, but getting to do it with your dad is a whole different level. Long time listener, long time fan, and if you’re on the fence, I’m here to say just give it a go. What’s the worse that could happen? You laugh a lot?

TAZ IS THE BEST
I was hooked immediately when the show was still on the Balance arc. I binge listened to catch up so I could ball my eyes out at the finale on the parking lot of my work. Since then I’ve loved their family banter and amazing creative work. All arcs from balance, to ether sea have all been outstanding. I can’t wait to see where Steeplechase takes us.

It took me a while to listen (coming from MBMBAM) but once I did I was completely hooked. There are so many amazing arcs and the creativity of the stories is just incredible. All the characters are super easy to become attached to and I get so immersed even when I listen at work. Fantastic work as always from the McElroy’s and their amazing crew.

Y’all.. oh my god. I’ve been a listener since way back in the early MBMBAM days and TAZ has been such a joy but the theme for this season??? THE THEME SONG FOR STEEPLE CHASE IS SUCH A BOP. Whoever is creating these theme songs??? Is so incredibly talented and I hope you show them this.

Perfect Entry-Level RP
These boys and their father have fabulous comedic and dramatic chemistry. Their attempts to play more tightened down, serious scenes or campaigns can feel tonally confusing at best, the light-hearted, goof filled majority of the programming is an absolute treasure for anyone turned off by more serious roleplay. Not to mention anyone who is new to D&D gets to learn the basics along with them during Balance! I'd have to say my favorite arcs / campaigns have been early Balance, Amnesty, Hootenanny, and Lords of Crunch. Steeplechase has been absolutely incredible so far! Justin has a distinct understanding of how to keep things dramatically engaging while still allowing for copious amounts of levity. Love these boys (and their progenitor). p.s. please no more guests

I cannot put to words how funny this show is — I’ve been at work listening and get slack messages to stop laughing so much I shake the desks. TAZ is a great show
Steeplechase has been a great arc and I love the dming style. I also love the sense of homebrew that TAZ creates. The constant interruptions add a sense of humor and I love it. When beef ripped of the pipe it was epic and I was surprised on the fact he was able to do a feat of superhuman strength. While I was trying to sleep this podcast kept me up and intrigued.

Travis. My love. This is right to you. I want you to think about how you try and make your character ‘right’ in every discussion. You try and twist out from underneath criticism, even in character, and I am here to tell you it’s okay to be wrong. It’s even a good thing. I love you and I believe in you. I go from sobbing one moment to dying laughing the next. I’ve been throughly pulled in and I’m determined to watch every episode. In the beginning, things move a little slow and clunky while they’re getting a hang of things but it gets SO much better. The entire refuge arc gave me goosebumps, so imaginative. Great story telling, amazing characters, and some really heart-wrenching moments. Thank you, McElroys!!!

Meh. I wanted to like it.
I liked the first season of TAZ. Interesting characters that you began to care about and you could see how it grew from a canned D&D adventure to an original story line. They played rather fast and loose with the rule set but that’s Ok because it’s homebrew and they had a good combination of combat and RP. As they’ve passed around the GM role though, it has gotten almost unrecognizable as D&D. Again, not terrible, but the nice thing about using D&D for collaborative storytelling is that injects randomness that breathes life into the story so that it is less likely to get rote. The guys seem to like to favor story over game mechanics but they go too far with that and the thing starts to feel canned or scripted. Griffin did it at the end of the first season but Justin goes even further. And now they’re going to another game engine and I just don’t get the enjoyment out of it the same way I do say CR, Dimension 20, or High Rollers. Those other shows feel more unpredictable and the characters better fleshed out, almost more realistic, but certainly more engrossing.

I honestly love this show so much!! It is like my version of an old timey radio show, but no one knows where it is going to end up. I love these boys. This show is hilarious and I am In awe of Griffins story building. Balance of course was soooo amazing and gets the praise it deserves. Personally my favorite campaign is Amesty. Great characters, the music is fantastic and had a steady plot line. There was a lot of problems with Graduation as many people have talked about and I think that should be recognized. I couldn’t get into Ethersea. But I’m still giving 5 stars because what I DID listen too is mind blowing.

Season 1 completely changed my relationship to podcasts and RPGs. Since listening I’ve bought the graphic novels as an example to my children of how decency and humor can coexist. I loved Amnesty and while Graduation was a rougher ride for me, Griffin’s return to DMing in Ethersea has restored the faith. Great production values, investment by the players and DM and generally just a great time. The fact that they transitioned to a weekly release only makes it better.

You guys mention in one episode that you could have done something with your lives more beneficial to the world, but instead you all became podcasters…I know it was in jest, but if there’s any inkling of a feeling of truth in there, just know you bring light to a lot of people when you’re working! A Great Show…. But
I love this show, they are creative and funny and always bring a smile to my day at work. However, I will say, currently I am on the commitment episodes and find the show a bit disheartening. It’s interesting to me how all these other topics they are so cautious about not offending. But when it comes to another group’s beliefs that you all are so carefree and quick to judge and offend. I’m not saying that there isn’t hypocrites with Christianity because just like everyone else they are human and make mistakes, too. So I’m sorry to say, I was intending to join your Patreon, but given the material in this ark I have not interest in your show anymore. If had been just a short or two I could have aloud it to roll over my shoulders. But given it’s and entire ark I can’t bring myself to listen to your show anymore. However, I wish the Adventure Zone the best.

I can’t say enough good about this show-the original arc, Balance, remains one of my favorite stories in any media! Just keep in mind that if you’re a stickler for the rules, this show probably won’t scratch that itch because they play pretty fast and loose. But I’d say the storytelling aspect is well worth a listen!

The listener rushes...out!
They’ve become less interested in playing a game and more interested in their IP and merchandising opportunities, so watch out if you try and stray from the GM’s carefully planned story, players! It’s seriously depressing how badly this show has gotten over the last year or so. The players themselves don’t even sound like they’re having fun, or like the game.

One of the greats!
In my life, I’ve listened to too many podcasts. This one has to be my number one. The talent these four people have when they are in one podcast amazes me. Griffin, one of the three brothers and usually the Storyteller, is one of the most inspiring, talented, and hilariously amazing people on the internet. Not only is he the DM, he also edits the podcast, make all the music in the story (which is so good, go check out is SoundCloud), but he also adds all of these incredible characters to this story. I can’t tell you how many times these McElroys have made me cry my eyes out with word magic. If this is your first time, enjoy this with all your heart. If this is your 50th time, it only gets better.

Lots of fun
A great actual play D&D podcast if you’re new to the game. The earlier episodes start off around the launch of 5E, so all the players are learning the system. At least one of them has never plaid before to it’s pretty cool hearing elements and mechanics explained that I wasn’t too clear on to begin with. Travis is kind of annoying with his persistently bad puns and rants, but all in all I think it’s worth sticking this one out.

my honest—if lengthy—review of taz (SPOILERS FOR EACH SEASON AHEAD)
i became part of the taz fandom around the end of balance and as they were prepping for season two with their experimental episodes. i had a couple of the big twists (blupjeans’ separate twists) in balance spoiled for me by myself being nosy, but they still managed to floor me with the story telling and other twists that had been written in. i cried, i was cheering, i was laughing until i couldn’t breathe, everything you could want from a podcast like this. the mcelroy brothers really stamped themselves as members of the storytelling community with this arc of the adventure zone alone. then came the experimental worlds that we saw and i was intrigued to see what could come of such a strong start to a podcast, and i was incredibly surprised by amnesty. i found myself falling in love with this small town monster of the week situation, and was saddened that it ended far sooner than balance. there were parts i did not like—like duck and minerva getting together—but other than that everyone was endearing and i enjoyed their characters. but what really cemented for me that amnesty was its own thing to be judged separately from the masterpiece of balance was ned chicane’s death. that really showed that amnesty was playing in a different ball game. whereas balance is an almost marvel like set of could be chronological movies, amnesty is a netflix tv show with different seasons. both of them can be good separately but when judged against each other it makes no sense. with the end of balance i was really looking forward to graduation with travis as the dm, especially since the concept was so cool—the hovel-y sort of ramshackle sidekick school that exists as a counterpart to the hero school. i was ready to root for characters that may not have had insane powers, but were cunning and clever and needed to be given a shot. but what i was given was so vastly different from what was presented to me prior that it was shocking. but i was giving it a chance nonetheless. griffin clint and justin really put their whole foot into these characters but in the end the environment was the wrong kind for these characters. graduation floundered to be different from the mold but somehow managed not to break it but get stuck in it. it was difficult to make it through this campaign but i did it, having only had fun a few times throughout the run time. graduation shined in parts like the centaur camp and the heist (at times) but was otherwise bogged down by bureaucracy and the others trying to have fun but being ultimately shut down. i could even feel it in how clint justin and griffin were playing that they themselves did not feel satisfied nor like they were having a good time. even the reveal of goodcastle being real fell flat because even griffin was kind of… ambivalent about it since there was no indication that he wasn’t getting scammed and had already made peace with it earlier in the campaign. all in all i felt kind of unhappy with how graduation unfolded and how things played out ultimately. i couldn’t even tell you a fifth of the names of the 60 some odd npcs that were named. all in all graduation was a tough listen for me and i almost gave up on taz throughout its run. the first half i listened to out of a lack of anything else to consume while i was spring cleaning, but otherwise didn’t touch it until i was bedridden with a back injury and decided that i would truck through it for the sake of finishing what i started. then came ethersea and with it returned the magic of taz. that lightning in a bottle moment that was taz balance was captured yet again, from the intro music, to the characters and story. the decision to play the quiet year together was one of the most important things leading into this campaign. it not only gave the players a chance to build the world and the lore they were going to be playing around, but gave them a reprieve from jumping into role playing without taking a long break from the podcast or doing other types of arcs. this allowed them to get into the character and the lore without worrying about the stakes as the end result was already predetermined. what i’ve realized as i’ve been writing this review is that ethersea has captured this lightning again by taking things that were great about the previous campaigns and setting them in this one. griffin learned from amnesty that the fans would call him a railroader so he gave clint justin and travis the free reign to design kepler however they wished without constraint—leading to kepler being populated entirely by water parks. here we see this in a controlled way in ethersea with every player having had a hand in creating the final city and everything in it. from balance came predetermined quests given by an employer but with the addition of the players having the decision to choose which quest they would undertake rather than there only being one choice. the energy of the podcast has shifted so insanely, with an almost unstoppable forward momentum that is evidenced by the fact that everyone *wants* to play these characters so much that they are doing their campaign every single week. ethersea is a triumph and showcases the brilliance of the mcelroy family in a way that we only saw before in taz balance. every character is memorable, every quest has the same element of danger and urgency as the quests in balance, there’s an air of being part of a small community like we see in amnesty. if you gave up on taz? come back. ethersea is the return of the king in the biggest way we’ve ever seen and i’m sure what griffin has planned for its inevitable end will leave us on the edge of our seats. tl;dr loved balance, loved amnesty, could barely listen to graduation, am literally simping over ethersea. please listen to this podcast thank you and goodnight.

Love this podcast!
I started with My Brother My Brother and Me, and took awhile to start on this one, mainly because i thought since i don’t play D and D I wouldn’t like it. I WAS WRONG! So glad that I finally started in on it. Go back and start at episode one. The Balance story arc is funny, heartfelt, and just all around great story telling. I have become an absolute super fan of all things McElroy! Thanks boys!

TAZ is a great show
You should definitely watch all the arcs people look down on graduation but it is one of the best arcs in my opinion. The funniest thing is how he managed to get a critical 1 on ship readiness. Stick around for the consequences because it is insanely bad and you will not expect what it causes.

LOVE IT
I LOVE this podcast. I hopped on as the Balance campaign was ending and have loved every single campaign since. Travis and Griffin (and Clint lol) are fantastic DMs who do such a great job bringing the listener into the adventure. Listening to this podcast is what gave me the encouragement to start DMing too! I also love these guys' good hearts and that they use their platforms to not only bring joy to people, but also financial and communal support to those who need it. I continue to be the biggest fan of all of this show and what it stands for!

I’ve loved TAZ for awhile now, of course HUGE fan of the balance arc, but honestly have loved every arc so far! Amnesty was awesome Justin has such a way with characters he comes up with and is always entertaining! I wanted to review because of all the hate Graduation gets. Look Griffon can’t be the DM every time. I think Travis did AMAZING. I laughed so hard throughout the arc and I love and appreciate the work that went into it. I think it was such a neat concept and I loved how it turned out! I think people need to give it a fair chance because I’m so happy I did! ☺️ my favorite podcast of all time and I can’t wait to start ethersea!!

Funny and Touching
I've been a listener since halfway through the first arc, and I am so, so in love with this show! This show got me into podcasts in general and D&D actual play podcasts in particular and I can never be grateful enough for its existence. It is so funny and full of goofs, but it also somehow told one of the most beautiful stories I've ever heard in the first arc and I've been enamored by almost every single character! Please, give this a shot - you won't regret it!

Best D&D Show Ever - Too Much Baby Murder
This is the greatest D&D actual play podcast I have ever heard. I’ve tried others and I almost always choose to listen to the Adventure Zone an additional time instead of continuing with other shows. However, I am finding it harder and harder to ignore their verbal and financial support for the murder of innocent babies. I know that I cannot expect everybody to have the same ideals as me regarding abortion. But, for someone who thinks abortion is murder, TAZ’s support of such things is disgusting.

the Ethersea arc is absolutely INCREDIBLE! i cannot wait to see where Griffin takes this story, and i feel like it’s all the best parts of Balance and Amnesty combined. i’m a huuuuuge fan of Amnesty and i feel like it was never given enough credit, and i’m so glad that its style of collaborative worldbuilding has transferred over into Ethersea. stories are always better when they’re told together. absolutely love what you all do and taz is such a big part of my life, thank you!

I was not expecting it to be this good!!
I listened through most of the Balance arc a few years ago, and although I enjoyed it, for some reason I lost interest somewhere in the middle of the Suffering Game- right before the campaign started to get interesting! Started listening again from the beginning now that I have time to listen consistently and I’m blown away by Griffin’s storytelling and ability to tie everything together. Despite their “making it up as we go” character creation, everything manages to makes sense and fit together by the end and it’s so satisfying. I’m starting season 2 soon, can’t wait!

A fantastic tale in a watery world!
I’m having a great time listening the the McClroy brothers ( father) tell a fun story in a post-apocalyptic world under the magic ocean. It sounds bit ridiculous, and it is, but it’s also fun and engaging. Long time fan of TAZ and this newest iteration is just as interesting, if not more so, than their initial balance arch.

I didn’t know I would like D&D
I was apprehensive to listen to this because I’ve never played D&D and I’ve never listened to mbmbam, but man am I glad I did. I listen to all kinds of podcasts (they’re better than tv amiright?), but this one is my favorite. The story is amazing and I hope there is a series forthcoming, but more than that it’s about the relationships they have, the banter and the wit. At times hilarious at times intense at times emotional. I’m invested in this group and I feel like I know these guys and hey, who doesn’t want a dad like Clint? I want to be a brother and a son to this group and if they ever do a live show within a couple hundred miles of me, I’m going!!! P.S. I’ve listened to the first season twice... I cried both times. You will too!

Due to imbalance induced nostalgia I am on the last episode of my re-listening of balance and boy it holds up just as remembered and beyond from my initial listen roughly four or five years ago when it was first airing. So many times I’ve teared up both from laughter and sweeping emotions. These boys have helped bring joy into my life for so many years now and I have TAZ to thank for the introduction to them. From balance to Ethersea I’ve followed their tales and loved every minute. Thanks for all you do boys! And if you’re on the fence about giving them a listen go ahead and try! I started this back in the beginning, in 2015, when I was in a dark place and just wanted something to take my mind off things. This literally brought me out of that deep place and on top of all that, is an amazing piece of story telling. I Am Fundamentally Changed As A Person
I didn’t even really know what D&D was when I started TAZ, and I barely listened to podcasts, I just wanted something light hearted to listen to in the midst of some seriously heavy life stuff. Over 100+ episodes later and I’ve completely fallen in love with this game, this podcast, and this family and the various characters and worlds they’ve created. It’s given me a new hobby, a new friend group, and one of the best storylines I’ve ever experienced. I can’t recommend this show enough, whether you know anything about D&D or the McElroys or not.

I started this podcast near the beginning of the pandemic and I’ve finally caught up with their newest campaign, Ethersea. Honestly, I didn’t expect to really enjoy the podcast bc I’m not a DND person but after listening to the first episode of Balance, I was instantly hooked. Every arc will make you laugh uncontrollably before hitting you right in the feels with the most gut-wrenching angst you’ve ever witnessed. Sending much love to the brother and their dad for making such a kickass podcast. Keep up the good work and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Amber, Devo and Zoox (and an honorary mention of Urchin) in Ethersea! 💙 ⚠️Spoiler: RIP Ned. The McElroys do a fantastic job on every single episode, the music is fantastic, the Cliff hangers are engaging and make me excited for more every time. From their first campaign with Balance to Amnesty, Graduation, and now Ethersea all of them are fantastic. Each campaign and or mini arc feels like you’re getting to see how creative each and every one of them is. Clint, Justin, Travis , and Griffin all do amazing work. I love to listen show while I am driving to work, and doing chores around the house. I for real love this show, if you haven’t listened to it, I totally recommend it. When I get to the end of most episodes I find myself saying out loud, "woah." The story telling is superb. I laugh, I get chills, I get wrapped up in the plot and characters. When an episode ends I have so much trouble waiting two weeks for the next one. I love listening to this wonderful family spend time together. The premise of this show doesn't do it justice. This is one of the most creative, well-told stories I've come across in a very long time. Balance was epic, but every season since has also been a joy to listen to. Please keep doing what you're doing, McElroys! AND WHEN ARE WE GETTING THE TAZ TV SHOW?! Can’t wait!

Wonderful podcast for anyone interested in exploring storytelling. Begin listening immediately.
TAZ is a brilliant, refreshing, funny and warm-hearted storytelling podcast. The current arc, Ethersea, has fewer belly laughs for me, but it’s fun, engaging and very compelling. I am always disappointed when a new episode comes to and end and can’t wait to hear what happens next week. I’m trusting that each mission, while entertaining in its own right, is also building to some larger plot or tension in an overarching story. All the characters and great: Devo is engaging and fun and I love the accent; Zoox is a great dynamic character with charm, the curiosity of a very self aware kindergartener, and an itchy trigger finger, and Amber is a great character who is key to making the characters mesh well and have compelling and “real” group dynamics. Each campaign stands as entertaining and well worth listening to on its own merits. Some listeners want more a of particular good thing they enjoyed in one specific campaign to carry over to all the other stories. To me, this is short sighted and closed minded, and the McElroys are neither (especially not the latter).

3 Hosts out of Four
This review only concerns Ethersea. Balance and Amnesty were excellent, and I didn’t finish Graduation. The McElroy Brothers (and Father) deliver such an interesting and satisfying product, and I truly love this work, so forgive me if I lead with my criticism: Travis really needs to loosen up. Clint and Justin seem very in line with Griffin’s tone and pace, but every time the ball is passed to Travis, in typical fashion, he holds onto it far longer than he should. He comes off as trying to wedge himself in as the emotional center of the show, taking it far too seriously and refusing to “Yes, and” with his fellow cast. I stopped listening to Graduation as the Middlest Brother forced his players along a singular path, and it’s almost more frustrating seeing the rest of them have to turn to his keel even as Griffin tries to lead the game. Travis aside, Clint and Justin have created fun, faceted characters, guided along by a rich and deep (pun intended) underwater world developed by Griffin following their group intro. Clint takes a backseat more often than not, but I imagine it must be hard to fit into the ever growing podcast dynamic by the brothers McElroy. All in all, VERY worth listening to, but I’d be lying if I said I even slightly enjoyed the moments focused on Travis’s Devo. If only we all thought he was as interesting as he thinks he is.

I’m Standing up for Graduation
I recently finished Graduation and it seems like a fair amount of people don’t like it. You should definitely listen to it. Some of the complaints are that Travis is a bad DM cause he doesn’t give the player freedom to do anything. This is simply not true. In several episodes he asks Griffin, Justin, and Clint what they want to do, then resolves it. Another complaint was the players didn’t seem like they were having a good time. In a TTAZZ Griffin says that he has a lot of fun playing Fitzroy. At the end of Graduation, they even sing the Thunderman theme song. I don’t know about you, but that makes it seem like they are having fun. Yet another complaint is it is poorly executed and edited. Again, not true. There is lots of unique music that fits the current scene/theme/mood. The players and NPC’s all have unique and fun voices. The final complaint I will be addressing is the lack of rolling and playing dnd. If you listen to The Adventure Zone just to hear people playing a game and the sound of dice rolling, go find another podcast. Assuming the people who complained about Graduation have listened to the Balance, Amnesty, and maybe the short ones (Commitment and Dust), you should know that TAZ is not all about playing the game. Yes that’s a big part of it, but that’s not all. There are the jokes, and the monologue descriptions (Which I personally love), and the non dice rolling bits of interacting with NPC’s. So there. Graduation is not bad or boring and Travis is not a bad DM. The McElroys are great at doing this podcast, and you should definitely listen to all the Campaigns.

Graduation is not bad or boring and Travis is not a bad DM. The McElroys are great at doing this podcast, and you should definitely listen to all the Campaigns.

Getting back to their roots!
After a hole in one with Balance, they had to find their feet and find ways to grow their characters and plot in natural ways. Ether sea is doing it. I love Griffin narrating (i mean, we ALL do, c’mon—still love you travis—i did like the story in the last one, especially with the crab, as it gave Griffin a chance to make a character) where he really shines. He’s an amazing story teller who adjusts off the cuff. I can’t say how happy i was to hear how the “deals warlock” made its way into Ethersea. Looking forward to more perilously, weird, shenanigans that still tug your heart strings and make you love the characters. NADPOD is giving you a run for your money …

The only D&D Podcast I could get into!
I have listened to several D&D podcasts over the years and could never get into any of them. The McElroys’ Adventure Zone has turned me around! I absolutely adore all of them and their natural story telling and roleplaying! It always feels like you’re sitting at the table with friends when you listen to their sessions! Thank you so much Griffin, Travis, Justin, and Clint for bringing so much joy to my sisters and I! 💜

Loving Ethersea!
I have enjoyed all the TAZ arcs, but Balance is incredibly special and I’ve listened to the whole thing many times. Now Ethersea is giving me that same amazing energy and momentum and making me fall in love with a whole new group of adventurers! If you’ve taken a break from TAZ I recommend checking out this new arc, and check out The Quiet Year prologue episodes to hear them building the world and culture, things from those episodes have repeatedly popped up in the arc so far!

All the arks were great! Why do people dislike graduation though, it was Travis’s first time dming! I mean, because the last two arks were so good, I get that we high exceptions, but the people in the reviews who said “make better stuff” on graduation, like dude, let’s see YOU make this much stuff. Boys, if your reading this, please ignore the microscopic amount of hate, and just, keep being you.

The Balance arc was on of my favorite podcast episodes I have ever listened to and amnesty was good not great but I still enjoyed it immensely. Graduation, however I could not get through three episodes. I’m sorry Travis but Please go back to just playing a character and let Griffin tell the story.

creative, collaborative. feels like im chilling with you guys while you play. it's a great listen while im working or driving. picking up on inside jokes and running gags is delightful. griffin's music is chef's kiss also. i listen to it sometimes on youtube. i know this will sound like i'm simping but every time a new one starts i'm like "i'm excited to listen to the new stories they make even though the last one was my favorite." and then i get a new favorite. my favorite character in balance was taako. my favorite in amnesty was ned. my favorite in graduation was fitzroy. my favorite in ethersea so far is devo. and so far my favorite campaign was graduation. i loved travis's DM style. i know he was anxious about it but it was really fun. it's so weird that you guys have made careers of just being charming and funny dudes, right? do you ever get up and go to record mbmbam or something and go like, "this is a wild job i have." but im glad you're here. this podcast has really been getting me through the panorama. i even suggested it to my favorite work friend and now he loves it too. thank you for sharing the things you all make.

Nice
Cool show, I will say that the hour long episodes on the new season are feeling a little incomplete. It feels like nothing is really happening in each episode. It took a whole episode for them to fall into a clam hole, not that the exposition is bad but maybe if the episodes were a little longer they would feel more complete.

TAZ is FanTAZtic!!!
Have to admit, I was late to the party, and TAZ is the kind of party you feel poorer for missing. I was one of the original wave of D&Ders and even made up a similar game that my kids and I loved to play together when they were younger. So when my daughter told me about TAZ, I picked up toward the end Amnesty and haven’t been able to stop listening since. Have listened to a number of podcasts, a number that have made me laugh but none that made me cry or tear up. So when I finished with the Balance arc and reflected on the fact that I had done the first innumerable times and done the second several times, I was hooked for good. Have to love good natured dynamics between father and sons, brothers and brothers. And the word palaces built by the creative minds of the then DM and the troika of players has continued to keep me drawn in. Now I anxiously await the drop of each new episode. FANTAZTIC!!!

I LOVE this podcast!
⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️spoiler alert!!!!!!⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ I love this podcast, I have been listening to it for about a year or two. I am only a little confused about something, (from the first season) after relistening to it for the elevintyith time I realized, if Merle is from some far-off planet and they to this planet after like 100 others How do his cousins get there/find the planet that they were on? I dunno, like I was saying, I thuroughly enjoy this podcast/story. And much recommend it to everyone!

I beg of you: listen to this podcast
Ok. So. I don’t write reviews, ever, but this podcast is SO GOOD that I would feel guilty if I didn’t. I’ve listened to a handful of the most well-known fictional audio dramas (TMA, TPP, WTNV, etc.) but there’s something about TAZ that just sets it apart. It all feels raw and emotionally real, and the show is produced with so much joy and wonder that it physically hurts sometimes. TAZ Balance is so incredible it’s honestly hard to describe; I loved it from the start, but once I listed to The Eleventh Hour arc, I realized “Oh. This is the best piece of fiction I’ve ever consumed/ever will consume. What am I going to do now.” The plot construction is immaculate, and I’m truly scared of Griffin’s narrative powers (HOW has he never written fiction before?!?) The humor, the heart, and the suspense is top notch, and if you’re a fan of any other fictional podcast ever, you NEED to give TAZ a chance. Your mind will be blown, guaranteed. It’s going to be amazing.

They’re Back!
Dripping with humor, emotion, creativity, and thoughtfulness. Often you just feel like a guest at the McElroy’s family D&D night. Each host is hilarious in their own way and all have become (or began) as masterful storytellers. Clint in particular with his radio background is quite a voice as well. Ethersea is the best season since Balance, get in there and support the show!

Great D&D Podcast! Listen!
The McElroy boys are always a joy to listen to. Their natural hilarity lends it self well to entertaining roll play, and some suprisingly genuine heartfelt storytelling! The goodest boys and their good good stories
I’ve loved this podcast since I first heard it a few years ago, I have absolutely loved it, thanks to the best boys for their wonderful portrayal of representation and their constant desire to become better people, love this portal to other worlds that makes the real world slip away. And real quick, because I can, imma do a quick defense for Graduation. While it was not my favorite season, that wasn’t because I didn’t like it, Balance will always be that nostalgic first thing that comes to mind when I think of TAZ, and Amnesty truly blew me out of the water with the creepy horror elements, and the lovable characters. I understand why people say Graduation wasn’t as good, it was different, new DM, new game (back to D&D), and a new story with new characters. But I loved every second of it, it was perfectly executed, and the characters and NPS’s were lovable and memorable. It was Travis’s first time DMing a full campaign, and he did BRILLIANTLY! Ethersea is looking amazing so far, I love these good good boys, keep doing what you’re doing. <3

I’ve listened to these guys since they started and they are an incredible group of podcasters. I grew up across the river from them so I was honored that my favorite D&D podcast just so happened to be a local crew. I have been listening to TAZ for nearly 5 years now and it has gotten me through so many difficult times. It’s so hard to put into words what an amazing and positive influence the McElroys have. Best D&D Podcast
Update (July 2021): Since the first campaign, the podcast has tried a number of different systems, themes, GMs, etc. Some have been rather enjoyable (Amnesty), others I would have skipped in hindsight (Graduation). Sadly, they haven’t quite lived up to the bar they set at the outset. — I listen to a few podcasts with the premise of listening to a group of amusing people play some D&D - this one is by far the most enjoyable romp through realms of high adventure. This podcast has made me laugh out loud too many times to count. It'll make you want to go kidnap a group of friends/strangers/moon people so you can get a game going of your own.

I have watched every episode of this show and this season promises to be the best so far! This show is amazing and my only complaint is the bi-weekly release schedule. it is fast paced, funny, a perfect mix of game rules and fun, and super well made. I drive for work, a lot. A lot, a lot. TAZ and the McElroy Clan have kept me company in the company car over, and over for many 4am starts, to 2am finishes. I started listening to TAZ a little after the pandemic kicked off, right about when FFXIV opened the Firmament. They kept me sane, they still do. I’ve listened to TAZ, Mbmbam, Sawbones, etc… over and over, but TAZ is still my go to. Everytime. The story arcs, the goofs… these fellas bring something grand worth listening to time and time again. From Balance to Graduation, and now into Ethersea. Thank you, Gentledudes, for producing something so glorious, that I look forward to driving 4 hours one way on Thursdays.

Loving Ethersea So Far!
It's only been one (real) episode, but I am really liking Ethersea so far! I love the player characters, Travis is doing great with the French accent! I love Clint's trigger-happy character, as well as Justin's get-er-done gal! My favorite part so far is all the clever pun-filled names for many items in the world's environment. Good for fledgling DMs to listen to.
When I started DMing I took myself wayyyy too seriously, and was entirely too stiff about letting players have the narrative spotlight. Listening through the Balance arc as I began to grow and improve my DMing skills taught me that I didn’t have to be so conservative with my players, and that rolling with the shenanigans and letting the players have fun can tell an even better story than a set of railroads that I constructed in my head. Griffin lets the other three have their goofs and hijinks, but he doesn’t lose focus on the story like I would have when I started.

I have listened to all of this podcasts campaigns and have been keeping up with the weekly episode for quite some time now; i have so many emotions hinge i love about the series but that’s not quite what this review is about. i’ve been relistening to the 5 episode prologue for Ethersea and i cannot stress enough how excited i am for this campaign. Something about Dm Griffin’s monologues are so enjoyable and i have to mention the music for this arc. The Addendum part of the outro of the last episode of the prologue takes me on an out of body Journey every single time Anyways if you’re looking to join in on this podcast, along with the Balance Arc and the Graduation Arc, i would highly recommend getting in on the ground floor of Ethersea. :)

This podcast has been with me for year's and I've been following them since the beginning, the characters transform from new and just being a joke, to amazing and heart-warming. I and my sister are re-listening to it and the jokes never get old ☺️. If Balance isn't for you, Amnesty or Graduation surely will be, all the stories have diverse characters but with the same people playing them that you will learn to love. A Once Great Show, Still (mostly) Worth a Listen
“The Adventure Zone: Balance” is one of those truly special stories that only come into the world thanks to a number of different wild coincidences all working out in spite of themselves. It’s funny, interesting, and genuinely moving. Following the McElroys along as they both become more familiar with D&D and with the concept of an actual play is remarkably fulfilling, and at its best it feels like sitting around the table with them. “Balance” also had an energy the show never quite recaptures. “Amnesty” achieves highs on par with “Balance” at the cost of lows “Balance” never sank to. And then there’s “Graduation,” and, well. The less said there, probably the better. It wasn’t enough for the series to reach narrative lows; they also began to hock predatory loan companies amidst the economic havoc of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Truly, “Graduation” is tasteless in every sense of the word. While “Ethersea” appears to be a step back in the right direction, at this point, only time will tell.

Though Graduation isn’t quite as good, it makes it up with wonderful PCs. I love these boys and this podcast so so much.

Not a fan
I’m not a big fan of Hunger Games so once I heard the campaign was a Hunger Games spin off it was an instant turn off. I’ve never been a fan of dystopian stuff so I don’t feel I can give a true rating. If they do a Percy Jackson, Avatar, Pokémon, or just a regular campaign then I’d be interested.

Overall great podcast
The podcast itself is a great story line filled with humorous moments of a family playing D&D together. Balance, Amnesty and Dust were my favorite arcs and deserve 5 stars and while I am quite enjoying graduation as well but it doesn’t hit as well as the others. I would rate it at 3.5 stars. As always Justin makes the most fantastic characters to play and I highly recommend listening to the series.

Never Enjoyed a Podcast More
I fell in love with TAZ during the Balance arc, and I still eagerly await each new episode many years and several arcs later. The McElroys have a rare and beautiful gift for co-narrating truly spectacular stories because of their innate family connection. There are so many nuances in the plot that make listeners think it must have been carefully pre-scripted, but it is simply the work of a hard working and tightly knit family who have incredible creative minds. I spend hours of every day sewing for my job, and most of those hours are spent listening to the McElroy family of podcasts. TAZ, however, will always hold a very special place in my heart as one of the rare stories that has truly impacted my life and inspired me as a creator. In a perfect world, I would have everyone listen to this podcast that had the time. If nothing else, I implore you curious listeners to give TAZ a chance. You will not regret it.

Favorite Podcast
I have loved all of the seasons, so I have trouble understanding complaints about Graduation. When I heard Travis would be DM, I knew it would be totally different from Griffin, but that was part of the fun! I love how each season changes and tells a totally different story. Graduation was definitely less structured and didn’t have a ton of dice rolling, but I don’t listen to this show for a serious tutorial on DnD. I have laughed out loud in every episode of this show, and Graduation was absolutely no exception.

Best podcast of its type, you can @ me
This podcast really has me laughing out loud at work, and I work in a quiet lab with a mask on, it’s very strange I’m sure. But I promise, you can’t help it, the McElroys have put on a positively delightful show. Thank you! Also, Graduation is dope af! Don’t let the other reviews get you down on it. Travis was a super DM and everyone made really cool characters and Travis had Festo who is my favorite NPC of all time! Also, for context, I’m a nascent DND player, so maybe I’m missing something, but just as a regular person, I am a staunch supporter of Graduation and the show overall! The season just got a surprising amount of hate, and I had to say something.

These guys were there for me when I lost my vision, literally and figuratively the darkest part of my life. Their comedy and amazing storytelling kept me giggling even on the days when I couldn’t manage a smile. They kept me going and gave me light and laughter. Maybe I’m biased, but I don’t know that I would have made it through without them. (Note: My vision isn’t what it was, but I’m not running into walls anymore so I’m going to chalk it up as a win.)

Fun radio show
But it never quite captured how fun the original story was. I gave both Amnesty and the one after that a chance. Amnesty just wasn’t fun, and the one after that was better but then the story became about bringing about economic change and I had trouble staying interested.

Graduation
I was recommended this podcast by my roommate and so it was one of the first podcasts I’ve listened to in a long time. Thinking I scrolled to the very bottom, to the beginning of the podcasts, I started with graduation. I finished every episode and looked forward to listening to each one. Granted that there were times were I shook my head at the silly stuff that was pulled, I loved every minute of it and I do not regret for a second having this arch be my first arch into TAZ. I loved all of the side characters and the time that was put into them along with building the world. It really shows.

Great show
A lot of people seem to complain about the most current season, but I absolutely adore it. I started listening to The adventure zone last year during the early days of the pandemic, and it quickly became the best podcast I listen to. Now I’m all caught up on all three seasons, and I say they’ve only gotten better with time. If you’re looking for dungeon after dungeon after dungeon in your DnD show, this isn’t for you, but if you’re looking for an amazing and emotional story, The Adventure Zone is definitely for you.

Thank you!!
Thank you McElroys for creating unique stories across multiple worlds that always bring a smile and always surprise me with unexpectedly poignant moments of vulnerability and humanity that transcend genre and medium. I love all of the arcs you have created and all of the characters too. You will forever have my gratitude for giving my daughter and I a common place to hang up our worries and smile and laugh and cry. To me the true mark of genius is making the complicated look simple. Even more important is the ability to create shelters in the worlds storms where we can all sit around the virtual fire and remember who we are what we all have in common and why we are here. By those standards you are all geniuses. May the road go ever on and on...

Deserves the love
Ive been binging everything McElroy for the first time this the past year, and ALL the amazing stories from taz have taken me by surprise in becoming some of my all time favorite pieces of media. I think once every arc get to the point past the initial set up and they get into discovering who their characters really are i always find myself so invested, its that feeling that i never expect but is so welcome. Even if the overarching plot isnt the most interesting in that moment to me, wherever the PCs take it and react/act is the most exciting part (no matter whos DM/GM-ing). Seeing each person over time learn their characters, different classes, doing work behind the scenes to bring more life and representation into their stories is fascinating and appreciated by the community. As Graduation ended was when I started it, i saw a hint of its overall reception online and was surprised at the backlash. I wish I hadnt seen it so it wouldnt color my experience of listening for the first time, BUT like I said earlier the initial set up can be rocky at first (especially with a first time dm-like how balance didnt het footing until like 40? episodes?). Right now im on episode 23 and LOVING what went down at the tribunal, i just want to see the characters along their journey just like always. Also would love an extension of commitment someday :) It is such an interesting idea!

Graduation Defense
So first off, Amnesty and Balance are 100% worth your time. There is no question about that. Graduation, though, is the problem child. There are many reviews saying that it’s terrible and that you shouldn’t listen. That’s just false. Is there a lot of exposition? Yes. Do the dice matter a ton for the story? No. But, you gotta realize: A) It was Trav’s first time DMing and he did a GREAT job and B) The world building and the characters were fantastic. Lastly, the first episodes (maybe the first 10-15 or so, I don’t remember exactly) don’t touch on the main plot at all. They are just the McElroys running around a school and having fun. But once the main plot I introduced, it gets much much better. So give it a few episodes. Besides, what else are you gonna do? We’re in quarantine. You can give a few days of your life to a podcast. (And if you don’t like it, don’t give it one star. Rate the entire podcast, not one arc)

Balance and Amnesty are Great Fun
I have listened to Balance and Amnesty on repeat throughout the pandemic. They’re fun, heartfelt and cleanly executed (editing wise). The Amnesty sting truly slaps. If you’re new to TAZ or the McElroy oeuvre, don’t start with Graduation. Some people love Graduation, but I found the plot meandering and at times confusing. It’s also full of cringe-land-mines, so if you’re prone to contact-embarrassment, beware. Overall, the McElroys have been an essential component of my pandemic survival kit and I cannot recommend their brand of comedy and storytelling more.

A Quick Defense of Graduation
Hello friends. I’ve long been a fan of the McElroys and their beautiful storytelling, I’ve listened to every single episode of the adventure zone at least once, and at least marginally enjoyed every single one. I know some people aren’t huge fans of Graduation, and the arguments are ones I can empathize with, however, it’s clear that Graduation and Travis’ story was influenced more by the powered by the apocalypse system and the storytelling style they fell upon during the non-D&D arcs. So while sometimes the actual gameplay becomes a bit of an afterthought, the story is really well thought out and interesting, painting what Travis clearly intended as a more interesting tale on dungeons and dragons to differ from Balance. Obviously not everyone’s cup of tea, but it reminds me a bit of if you combined the stolen century with dust and sprinkled in a bit of Balance. And even where Travis’ story may leave a wee bit to be desired, (though personally I’m a fan), Griffin, Clint, and Justin’s player characters are phenomenally thought out. Fitzroy especially was a welcome edition as Griffin’s first turn as a PC for an entire season, and brings a bit of his MBMBaM energy to TAZ. Anywho, Balance will never be matched, but these good boys will never not make me smile. Super psyched for the next arc.

While the McElroy style of actual play has always been fast and loose with the rules of TTRPGs, Graduation has no regard for even the fundamentals of D&D... It's essentially a radio play and the players feel like unwilling participants. The first two arcs are pretty good! Would not recommend Graduation however.

Do not listen to Graduation
Balance and Amnesty are wonderful, and well with your time. If you haven’t listened to Balance yet it’s truly an amazing phenomenon to see emerge. Sadly, Graduation is poorly edited, poorly executed, and not thought through at all. There are several problematic representations throughout and zero willingness to address or engage with criticism. What makes it completely unlistenable though is how boring it is. There is absolutely nothing new or innovative, and zero stakes throughout since the dice are absolutely not allowed to interfere with the story in any way. Many of the defenses you see here are ridiculous, these are four grown men who have been playing TTRPGs professionally for many many years. The level of thought and editing is atrocious and frankly shocking.

Love for Travis
I’m compelled to jump in and defend Graduation. While it true that sweet Trav loves his exposition, I’m here to point out that his world building was rad, and in the initial episodes the festo, and lawyer, and bone skeleton gags were chef’s kissable. Was he a little inflexible about his intended end game? Sure. Am I a pinch disappointed there’s nothing in Groundsy’s hut? Certainly. But he’s a brand new dm and a bona fide talent, and you guys are ingrates.

This show is wonderful. The episodes are short and there isn’t always combat but the characters are great. Graduation has been the slowest but the most cinematic arc. Genuinely love the party and while the fighting is funny and awesome, the conversations between the group is delightful. Plus, when you can tell the players aren’t super invested in the podcast during certain episodes, it somehow makes it funnier and the dynamic more realistic.

D&D as a vehicle for improvisational storytelling.
Any well played D&D game produces nicely developed characters that grow roots, relationships, and a story line that’s built just ever so slightly out of the control of its participants. Take out some of the more cumbersome game mechanics, add the talent and cleverness of the McElroy family to this and boy howdy, I’m having more fun than I thought was possible listening to people roll dice. It’s not the first time it’s been done—we had an improv comedy troop that where I live that rolled a giant (little more than a foot in diameter) D20 to make some decisions or reveal outcomes about the scenes they were playing out. And another thing: I expected (assumed) I’d be listening to cis-het white nerds creating a legion of characters that mirrored them, which would have been just ok, if a bit predictable—that’s their experience in the world. But no. Any contrived world has possibility and opportunity for representation... and these men have chosen to tell a story where diversity isn’t represented in shallow avatars—the storyline is affected by those different perspectives. We’ve got strong people represented in a spectrum of genders. They don’t pop an offensive falsetto voice for female characters. AND if you’re thinking that it’s just performative allyship (which, eff off, this is literal entertainment and performance so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) they do regular fundraising for activist groups that make positive impacts for all sorts of communities. I love this podcast. I listen to “my programs” and don’t really read much extra around and about when it comes to the podcasts I like, but I heard recently that there’s some weird backlash at Travis for his DMing of Graduation. The internet can’t (shouldn’t be able to) cancel your sweet and creative heart. Keep making this. It’s a happy place for me.

Watch your step , so to speak
This is one of my favorite podcasts of all time. Great, funny narratives that are very story driven but not enough to feel boringly forced. The bros + Clint are very lovable and have their own unique styles despite sounding similar initially . However , these strengths are not present in the most recent arc , Graduation. Skip Graduation and listen to Balance and Amnesty instead . You will see what the hype is about without spoiling this great podcast. Each arc has varying levels of quality .

Significant drop in quality from Balance to Graduation
How did a once good podcast take such a sharp nosedive? Anyone can make a misstep, but the fact that it’s gone on so long is not a good sign. They either know it’s a subpar product and continue to put it out regardless, or their standard for quality has dropped significantly.

Wish I could rate individual arcs
Graduation is an absolute waste of time, some of the worst story telling I’ve ever heard. The DM literally says “well it’s MY fantasy world” when his players complain. You can hear that no one is enjoying themselves and all of the “big reveals” turn out to be pulled punches and unfunny jokes. The Balance arc is amazing, Amnesty has good characters, just listen to those.

Fallen from grace, Travis is a bad DM
Listen, The Adventure Zone’s first series: Balance is absolutely amazing. It is literally the best podcast I’ve ever listened to and I have relistened to it 4 times now. But if you value your time and want to continue being able to respect the creative works of Travis McElroy, do not listen to the newest arc. TAZ Graduation is a convoluted mess that consists of -way too many characters that aren’t meaningful or interesting -interesting Player Characters with absolutely no agency -Railroading -a convoluted plot that seems to be going nowhere -an NPC forcing the PCs to do drugs against their will as a “funny bit” -an actual play show where the players themselves lose interest -very little dnd at all, a few dice rolls here and there with sparse combat that is hilariously easy -no narrative stakes I can’t give it 1 star because the previous 2 full arcs were actually good, the first being absolutely amazing, but no one should listen to this show until the next arc starts, unless they want to have an unpleasant experience.

Contempt for TTRPGs
I used to love TAZ, even went to a live show and loved every minute. But this... this ain’t it. The creators seem bored, there’s mostly just monologuing from the DM, and there’s a lot of tokenistic representation, white savior and colonialist tropes throughout this season. There’s no direction, a convoluted plot, and the cast seems utterly disinterested in any game mechanics, and are more concerned with heavy emotional beats than earning them. Listen to the back catalogue if you like, but steer clear of this campaign. Maybe they can take a break, recharge, and come back when they feel they are ready to collaborate and do the comedy they do best.

Are you kidding? Graduation is amazing
I mean, not everything is for everybody. But I’m seeing reviews criticizing the latest arc and I just don’t see the same issues. I love Travis as the DM. The characters consistently make me laugh and occasionally cry. I’ve been on board ever since the first interaction with the baby Pegasus, which still remains one of my favorite story moments, from any campaign. But I haven’t had the issue of listening to all of the earlier campaigns, so maybe people comparing them is really what’s leading to issues for people. I’m not a newb to podcasts or D&D. I dunno, maybe this current Graduation campaign is not your cup of tea, but for some people, it’s going to be your tea, your coffee and your monster energy drink.

It feels like, they really lost the plot on this one. I love balance as much as the next guy but they need to stop chasing that high, and let the story find them not the other way around.better some dorks screw around having no idea what their doing then to act as if it’s clocking into work

The best!!!
I’m reviewing this podcast for the second time! The newest arc, Graduation, isn’t for everyone. But in my experience with it, it has only reinforced my love for the McElroy’s. I’m not looking for something to replace the Balance arc, but something about the interactions within Graduation hit me the same way Balance did, and again, reinforces why the Mcelroy family of products have been so special and important to me. I absolutely adore Graduation, along with the rest of the podcast. I highly recommend the entirety of this podcast, it is not only hilariously entertaining, but enriched with such familial love that I feel like I’m hanging out with my own family.

Gone Downhill
This used to be my favorite podcast. The first two campaigns were excellent to listen to (though the second was a little rough). Now, though... Graduation is a terrible mess. Travis is not a good GM, and all of the McElroys have gotten too caught up in these grand stories they think they’re so good at crafting. The thing that set this show apart from other D&D shows and made it so good was that it was primarily a comedy show, with plot taking a back seat to goofs. Get back to that, and maybe I’ll start listening again—but if I want deep plots about “smashing capitalism”, I’m going to go listen to a different show that does it better.

Once great, currently floundering
This podcast once sat among my favorites. In fact if you’re interested in hearing D&D content and are either not-at-all or mildly familiar with the system, the early episodes are still spectacular. The podcast recently seems to be struggling to decide what it wants to be. It’s not a serious D&D podcast, it’s not a compelling storytelling podcast. I wish the creators would sit down to figure out what they want to produce, and decide a path to follow in doing it, because right now there’s only 2 hours of content every month, and they are not good hours. If you do get into the early part of the podcast, I strongly recommend seeking out an old RSS feed to listen from, as the new dynamic ads are horribly mixed with the audio of the rest of the show, and feel hugely out of place compared to the old style. The RSS link on Max Fun’s website I believe is still outdated and works for this.

Very uneven; the latest series is garbage.
This podcast is split into different stories. The first story, Balance, is quite good. The second, Amnesty, is pretty good. The third, Graduation, is utter garbage. The DM has awful storytelling instincts, annoying vocal habits, and is so performative about his attempts to be woke.

All about this pod cast
Omg I love this podcast so much. This to be honest is my first time pod cast that I truly love to hear. Sometimes I just put this podcast on while I got outside for a walk to cover my 20-30 minutes of Physical Activity for my PE class called Fitness and Lifetime Sports CPX (CPX is like a level between Honors and CP, CP is Average by the way. I love to listen to this podcast, you guys are so fun and funny to listen too. I hope you post more content like this because I am really enjoying it ^_^

Hi-larious
These bros (and their dad) host one mean D&D table. Don’t expect to expand your Faerun repertoire with some well researched Dungeons and Dragons canon, but do expect to laugh your butt off.

Graduation is lame
Really like the Bros and their pops Clint plays my favorite characters but Graduations is just plain bad- a sharp contrast to the genius of the other story arcs. Loved the early vibe of them just joking around with some silly DND source material. New stuff is almost all improv acting.

MOONCHILD!!!
Just listened to ep 173/Graduation!! The ending made me feel like I did when I first saw The NeverEnding Story in a movie theater when i was a kid!!! I yelled along with Bastion to give the empress a new name, as i just yelled, cried happy tears and got goose bumps as soon as i heard Travis introduce a new character at the end! Listened to it 4 times!!! Scared the crap out of my family because of my sudden outburst: crying, smiling, laughing, fist pumping, beating my chest, yelling dumb things like,”YOU F$&@#+G KNOW IT BAAAABY!!” The best part, not the first time i have been so completely and happily entertained by these stories!! Every major arc has given me these moments!! Thank you guys so freaking much for trying Gerblins!!(Shout out Mbmbam!!) It lead to something so wonderful!!!

Always fun to listen to!
I never thought I would like a podcast with people playing a table game. I was wrong! The McElroy clan do an awesome job of telling a story while being their good, silly selves. Keep up the work you good, good boys.

God this slaps
This podcast, specifically Balance, is what inspired me to start dungeon mastering. My family now has a weekly game night and it’s brought my step siblings and I so much closer and I’m just eternally grateful. It’s funny, wholesome, ridiculous, and heartbreaking. I’m amazed at how many pieces of media these boys have made that have inadvertently given me tools to improve my mental health, familial relationships, and confidence. 10/10, best boys.

A Terrible Beautiful Mistake
I made a terrible mistake. I had heard tell that the latest arc was a new and different feel from the others. My curiosity was stoked. I had only confidence in Travis and his ability to spin a fabulous new adventure for his family. The Adventure Zone: Graduation does not disappoint. I may be but a novice listener to TAZ, but every twist and turn of this homebrew dnd adventure doesn’t fail to please my imagination. The characters are far from generic and have me itching to see where they go next, and every new hairstyle change has my hand itching for the pencil to see if I can capture them to paper. I can’t. Because they aced their saving throws. So what was my mistake, aside from inability to capture them for my own artistic purposes? Starting listening before the arc ended. I have been listening to Graduation for several days like it’s my job, before it came to a painful, screeching halt as I realized...I’ve caught up. I have to wait for the next episode like the rest of these poor, foolish souls. Save yourself. Start with the earlier arcs, and save Graduation for beautiful, delicious dessert. If you’re lucky, and maybe if you don’t spend your entire day listening from sun rise to set, the finale will have aired by the time you’ve finished the others.
