Dystopian Dragontales
I absolutely loved this whole podcast (and have moved over to Dungeons and Daddies because I’ve grown so attached to everyone). I wish this was still going because I’ve been trying to pitch a spin off of Dragontales to anyone who will listen. The kids go back to the world, it’s been destroyed because they stopped visiting. Rated R. All that jazz. I’d love creative minds like FW to put something like this into the world.

Great show
Episode one, Link wants to get into the sacred temple because he can find a nap spot where nobody will look or bother him. Have him being antagonized for being a lazy bum and that drives him to look for somewhere he won’t be bothered. He finds the sword and binds to it while he’s curiously picking it up. The village leaders throw him out in a rage and he doesn’t have anywhere to go, so he goes with Zelda because he has nowhere else to go. When he sees the outside world is having difficulty he then finds the motivation to continue on because he realizes the problems will eventually reach and destroy his village where his family lives.

Getting me out of writers block
Like most people, i came here from dungeons and daddies. Didn’t think I’d find a new favorite podcast, but here we are! On top of that, the FIRST episode was about my favorite franchise, legend of Zelda! This show has me motivated to get out of my writing slump and keep being creative. Thanks for being the best guys! (And let me know if you want an intern!)

I was hooked from the beginning
I started this show after speedrunning DnDaddies because I wanted to understand the daddy gang’s writing style in a more open and “structure-less” environment. Each episode y’all knock it out of the park. This podcast style is a perfect way to facilitate growth in a creative manner and I was glad to hear it being done!

The last break was my heart
Like many others, I found this gem through Dungeons and daddies. This harrowing look into the primordial soup of creativity is such a refreshing experience. I truly felt like one of the bois and would shout in both exaltation and frustration as if they could respond. My one wish for the Honda-days would be the return of this hour of fellowship and fun, to offer respite in the dark winter hours

Just a good time
Sad to say goodbye to this podcast that has been a constant source of laughter and good vibes for the last 4 years. Thank you Matt, Freddy, and Will for all that you do and I hope story break will get resurrected from time to time in the future. Good luck with your movie!!!

(New Footnote Added)- I Mean Dang
It’s genuinely brilliant, in-depth, creative, INCLUSIVE, and unique- all while being really hecking hilarious. Each episode is an entirely new rollercoaster, my friends. Not one is like another. If you’re interested in writing and production, this is still an excellent podcast for you. I know it says comedy, but Matt, Will, and Freddy tackle each topic with sweat on their brows, and they weave some pretty dang phenomenal tales. Oh, and the three of their fun-loving, vaguely cynical, expressive personalities in one room? The cherry on top. (Also listen to their other (DnD) podcast with fellow hosts Beth May and Anthony Burch, “Dungeons and Daddies,” and combined with this podcast you will be stocked up on distracted happiness for a while.) ** Edit, years later. 2nd review for the 2nd podcast I ever listened to. I’m heartbroken that it’s over, not only because it’s a goodbye to Story Break, but because it’s a goodbye to Matt, Freddie, and Will. Except for the occasional other podcast, we’ll never be “in the same room with them” again. Not in this way. I wish them all the best. Good luck, guys, in your careers- although you obviously don’t need it.

Story Break is Amazing
This show and it’s hosts Will, Matt, and Freddy are hilarious and extremely heartwarming would probably be the first podcast I’d recommend if someone asked me to. Even though this podcast is ending I know that it’ll never be gone because even before it was ending I already constantly relistened to almost every episode. At this rate I’ll know every episode by heart in like 2 years. Whenever I want to listen to a random podcast that’s not part of a bigger journey or story 60% of the time (and I say 60 because the other 40 is MBMBAM) I put on one of these episodes. And even if you did want a podcast that is part of a bigger story they have you covered with Heaven Heist and Jar Jar. The point is that this podcast is amazing and I want the story boys to know that even if they never make a hit blockbuster, that they succeeded in making a beautiful piece of art already. Thank you guys for the years already and the many years to come of hilarity, happiness, and at the very least white noise, that you guys provided me and I hope to watch one of your movies on the big screen someday.(Hopefully it’s why the chicken crossed the road) P.S. I’m still holding out hope that there might be new episodes every once in a while though. Love you guys

Love the Energy
I’m slowly making my way through the back catalog and love what I’ve heard so far! The hosts have great energy and charisma that mesh well together. There is no condescension between them, and they are willing to listen to each other’s ideas, no matter how crazy some of them may be. I have skipped a few episodes that have since been made into movies that I didn’t want to mess up how the story played out in my mind with the “writer’s room” version. Keep on making great content, I look forward to listening to many many more amazing episodes.

Uniquely inclusive sometimes
It’s nice to see a group of writers who are funny and respectful of lgbt folks from the Bowsette movie to the prom movie, they handle things well and I’m happy to say I’m allways ready for a new episode to laugh at and relax.

Took a Second
As a script writer for a fiction podcast, I knew it was going to take a second for me to appreciate this show, but the concept is invaluable. Taking a rough idea, making it worse, and at the end of it, somehow creating a fantastic pitch for something I’d genuinely enjoy, given opportunity to watch. I am a new convert to the show, and these guys are fun to listen to. Give it half an episode, and the entertainment will pay dividends. Keep up the great work!

My creative juices, that is. In all seriousness, this is a wonderful podcast hosted by some awesome dudes. Keep up the good work fellas!

Makes me want to not only write, but scream at my phone
This podcast has been quite the inspiration. It makes me want to write and explore the creativity of stories. I love how they work together, flow their stories, and build off of one another. I would love to guest on this podcast, that is the kind of energy that they give off. It really opens a door into creativity, and helps to explore what it is to be a writer of screen. Thank you for sharing these insights, and if you ever need a guest, I volunteer as tribute!

Three great story boys
This podcast is a treat. The boys have great chemistry that leads to fun banter, and a fluid writing/breaking process. It’s also a really interesting insight into storytelling and screenplay writing, and also great inspiration for creative brainstorming. It’s fun to be along for the ride through the whole process, and more often than not, they stick the landing and make a really fun story at the end. While not *every* story they break is a banger, every single episode is. If you’re interested in listening to creative people do creative writing in real time - definitely give this podcast a shot!

Creative, goofy and informative. The real triple threat.
I'm a recent fan of these wonderful story boys and their equally wonderful ideas. They find ways to make topics so simple or mundane into captivating, imaginative stories in just an hour. I find it fascinating to see the bite-sized process of how a story is formed through the minds of the self-proclaimed Hollywood professionals. The show is also entertaining with how the boys are constantly making jokes and always trying to one-up the previous goofy idea with an even more ludicrous idea. All the cohosts have perfect chemistry with each other, each offering unique perspective on breaking down a story, refining it to the best it can be. If you have any interest in the creative process behind writing movies, the imaginative spins on ideas you never thought possible, or just enjoy the chaos of three like-minded folks making jokes about popular culture, I would highly recommend Story Break.

Great Fun (and learning!)
I’m an animator-turned-screenwriter and I have been wanting to get more data points on how other people tackle the story process. This podcast is *great* for that!! It’s the prefect level of funny and informational, like soaking up knowledge from your smart friends at a party. Huge backlog, too! (I’m only at Teen Bond and I’m so excited to keep going.) Giving Jar Jar a Second Chance
I hated Jar Jar before these guys got ahold of him. Can’t wait to see how it turns out and I would definitely pay money to see this movie! I love when they’re throwing ideas against the wall to see what sticks even though they spend a significant amount of time nowhere near the rails. It all comes together by the end of the episode, though. Great work!

A fun, engaging time
This is a great, creative and fun podcast. I have to listen to it with my AirPods, because my partner can’t tolerate all the “yelling and cross talk”. For me, while it can be a little frustrating at times and I wouldn’t mind a little less of it, it just wouldn’t have that fun writers’ room feel without some shouting and cross/over talking. I really love when they do deep dives on a single script every show, like “Heaven Heist” and “Jar Jar: a Star Wars story”. I enjoy the juxtaposition of these long form arcs with the one shot story breaks they are the bread and butter of the show. Thanks, Gents!

Chain gang attempting a prison break
The story writing equivalent of a chain gang attempting a prison break every week: mostly successful, frequently hilarious, always sounds like fun. The three hosts balance each other so nicely or, when they don’t, one will fully yank the others into entertaining directions that I certainly don’t mind re-listening to when I need cheering up. 👌🏽💯

Fun and Inspiring
A great listen that has made me revisit the way I look at stories and writing. All 3 hosts are hilarious and sharp. The only problem is I listen to too many episodes a day, and I fear I will run out too quickly. PS: When y’all are finished with the Jar Jar Binks story (going great), you should tackle the ‘Ology book series (Dragonology, Wizardology, etc). I grew up reading them, and I think there’s a lot of fun lore to break and explore.

Yes I know it is a podcast but I had to give this review an appropiate title. I first discovered this podcast by listening to a different podcast called Dungeons and Daddies. I really enjoy the interesting takes on all sorts of ideas for movies/shows. Thanks to this podcast, I know now if some ideas in my head would be good or not so good ideas. Whether or not I agree with some of their takes, I do understand their reasoning and how they get there is very entertaning to listen to. Once I get through some more episodes, you can count on me suggesting some ideas of my own for episodes, if they haven't been done already.

*will campos voice* ... one hell of a way to start your day! ok real talk, i heard about the story boys from dungeon and daddies, and after the first episode of story break i was in love. as an aspiring screenwriter, it’s so inspiring, informative, and entertaining to hear these guys break down strange and random properties into (mostly) intelligible stories. i’ve learned how to craft better hooks and conceptualize ideas and, most importantly, what important questions to ask when developing an emotionally engaging story from a fun idea. thanks for the laughs and the learnin’, story boys! UPDATE 12/18: ok i have officially listened to every episode, and i am officially officially endeared to the story boys. i’ve recommended this podcast to everyone i know irl AND on instagram, as well as others in my writing group. the jarjar binks episode continues to be a fan favorite! i’ve also recommended dungeons and daddies and every other podcast on the maximum fun network. thank you for making me laugh with every episode. here’s looking at you, story boys.

I have only just started to listen to these guys just a few days ago, but I’m about 40 episodes in and I have to say, I am in LOVE with this podcast! My favorite so far is definitely the one about Clippy- I just love how in depth these guys can get with their pitches. I had a thought while listening to the Burger King Kids Club episode too; what if when Kid Vid was skateboarding, instead of relying on the smell of burger king to guide him, Wheels became his eyes, and Kid Vid was his legs and they had like a super skateboard and worked together. You guys have given me so many new ideas about story pitches and I can’t thank you enough. Keep it up!!

Loved the old format!
This is a great podcast from 3 guys who are highly qualified, acutely tuned-in, and extremely energetic. It’s a hoot to hear them turn an absurd premise (like the Waluigi Movie) into something I’d actually pay to see in theaters. It’s also a great way to learn about screenwriting by being a fly on the wall in a writers’ room. Lately they’ve switched to a format writing every scene of a movie idea called “Heaven Heist” (instead of breaking a new story every episode) and though there is potential to see a new side of the screenwriting process, I find myself zoning out during these episodes and wishing I had the old format back. Maybe it could be an alternating thing? Anyway, I’ll give heaven heist another episode or two, but I recommend new listeners start with some of the older episodes, which are really fun and surprising.

Equal parts silly AND thoughtful AND bananas
I love this podcast. The story boys have so much fun coming up with real movie plots for everything from silly premises extracted from two-word phrases (James Bong) to existing empires of IP (Disney Endgame). They are good about making their characters boys and girls and gay and straight without making the stories about those identities, whew. Someone pay these guys to write more TV and movies!

Funny & Clever
This is now my go-to podcast on my (hefty) commute to work. I love the dynamic between the group and find myself laughing throughout the episode. As an English teacher, I also get a kick out of the discussion of narrative, character, plot, etc. (Would love to make my high schoolers listen to an episode once I figure out how to get past adult language/theme objections.) Thanks for sharing this with us!

You guys should really have more guests on the show, my two favorite episodes are The Friends Reunion Movie (feat Riley Critchlow) and XCOM (feat Duncan Jones) if you're a listener, and not a host, I'd definitely point towards the ones with guest they're all super funny. But overall I freaking love this podcast you guys have great ideas and are really funny. So keep doin' what yer doin'! (But with more guests)

I don’t think there’s a single awful episode. Even if the story they come up with isn’t your favorite, the chemistry between Freddie, Matt, and Will creates a fun dynamic that I just love to listen in on. Looking forward to the eventual Heaven Heist 2 Sequel featuring Shark Cops!!! And Trucks.

Great Concept, Great Execution!
I heard the ad for this on some other maximum fun podcast (probably a McElroy podcast) and thought it sounded fun. I was not prepared for the hilarity that would ensue. I enjoy listening to you flounder at the beginning of an episode as I scream into the internet abyss about what I thought was a brilliant idea that you just skirt passed but by the end, I’m almost always blown away but the uncertainty of if they will break it or not is half to fun. By the way, I know you like board games, you should try breaking the game Scythe. You already have basic characters laid out plus, nothing makes for an amazing movie quite like mechs.

Far, Far and Away My New Favorite
My favorite episodes are the Star Wars ones, and these encapsulate perfectly what makes these guys so great: their pitches are far more compelling, considered, sensical, creative, empathic, funny, serious, and true to the spirit of the story than what's currently being made. I want to see these movies, endings and spoilers be damned. Max Fun made a good call with this show, can't wait for more :)

I love these guys....
I’ve been meaning to start listening for a while and I’m sorry I waited so long. It’s really interesting to hear them break the story and I even find some of the abandoned plot points interesting. There are even some episodes that you don’t realize will be as touching as they are. It is worth noting that the lack of certain voices is keenly felt at times but their mindfulness in avoiding tropes and such is commendable.

The cure to writer’s block
As someone who once had dreamy ambitions of being a writer, I find this podcast is an excellent way to jumpstart my own creativity. I always viewed writing as a “serious” pursuit and I have been struggling the past 3-4 years to put pen to paper due to intense self-criticism. This podcast reminded me that writing can just be a fun release. Not everything is going to be a critically acclaimed film or tv show. Sometimes, your idea is a total flop. But it’s still fun and worthwhile to see your creations to their end and laugh along the way.

Very cool to see the process of creating a movie, even if they fail. Cause sometimes. let me tell ya. They fail. But others are amazing! Favorites are Galaxy Truckers and The Splurge. I love the pure simplicity of three friends sitting down using their imaginations to come up with really crazy and interesting story ideas. Will, Matt and Freddy have an child-like enthusiasm for story telling that is infectious. The engery is pretty manic, with explosive outbreaks of laughter. If you love movies and are the type of person that enjoys analysing story structure this podcast is for you. Inspiring for any Storyteller
Honestly, this podcast is a HUGE inspiration for anyone who creates stories in any capacity. Listening to these three radical dudes take an idea from start to (hopefully) finish proves that any idea can be great no matter how silly it initially sounds and that sometimes the first idea isn’t always the best. Story Break is absolutely fantastic - it's fast-paced, hilarious, and always manages to deliver on its premise in surprising and delightful ways. It took me one episode to get absolutely, utterly hooked and start trying to binge my way through the back episodes. Listening to how they take these familiar concepts and turn them is wild - they end up going directions I'd never expect at time, but also plays on so many familiar tropes. The elevator pitch is always hilarious, yet actually pretty accurate. And honestly? They actually pitch some movies... that I totally want. I would watch that BK Kids' Club movie, I swear. And don't get me started on how rad that Mario film would be. This podcast delights every time, and it doesn't let up. So just give it a shot, it's awesome.

Discovery in a Bottle (er, Podcast)
This podcast manages to capture those awesome, exhilarating moments of bouncing around an iffy idea and suddenly, out of nowhere, discovering an idea that just clicks. More than the product, this podcast is about the process, scrapping whole plots completely, zooming in to specific moments, and out to how the movie can stand out amidst the crowd. Ideas and stories are challenged and debated heavily, but all in great cooperative fun. And those moments when an idea just seems to come out of thin air are just the best. It's also Very funny. Love these doofuses. Do not underestimate an episode from the title alone, they will find ways to upturn whatever you think the movie will be about. Highly recommend Limo Scream, Grover Cleveland, Jurassic Park, Jar Jar.

Creative, hilarious, and inspiring
I got into this podcast recently and immediately had to go back and listen to every episode. It quickly became my favorite podcast, the one where I see it start to download on Thursday and catch myself saying "yay!" out loud. I love this window into the creative process and the way the team breaks down and analyzes storytelling devices and tropes. I find the way they start with nothing but a (usually dumb) idea and work away at it until they've got a (usually really cool or at least pretty funny) story at the end of the hour to be truly inspiring.

Dreaming of Writers' Rooms
As someone who intends to pursue a career as a tv writer, a concise podcast about the joy, excitement and humour of breaking a story --without interruptions by messy internal politics or industry horror stories-- is such a breath of fresh air. Every episode reminds just why I want to do this so much. And also, my mind is still being blown by the 'Why does the chicken cross the road?' episode. Seriously, I'd be thrilled to write that script. I don't think that story is going to leave my mind for a long time. Thanks so much for your dedication and passion!

Thoughtful analysis AND bonkers plot twists!
The Duke Nukem episode seems like it would be a rehash of the Contra episode, but no! They obviously have nothing but respect for what makes the title great: Its ability to not take itself too seriously. Rather than another "bro" action movie played straight, this proposal thumbs its nose at convention, just like Duke himself.

Interesting, but mostly funny
I listen to a huge assortment of podcasts from true crime, to history, to science and have always had an overall dislike of shows that have multiple hosts but this one broke my bias. Not only is it an original idea for a show but it is executed well and is always entertaining. Only have a few minor issues with it such as: sometimes you guys have an awesome idea i really like early on and change it half way through and have to start from scratch and in some episodes you guys seem to try to force a conspiracy style plot into scripts that I don’t think really need it. That being said, I'll definitley be listening to most of the archive and keeping up with them as they come out. A couple ideas I have for future episodes are the board games: Stratego and RISK. An adult version of toy story where instead of toys its kitchen utensils/appliances, entertainment systems, videgame consoles, laptops, etc that come to life. And then perhaps a movie about the life of pets from the perspective of pets, maybe a dog or two that live in a home and the adventures they get into while their owner goes off to work each day. Thanks for an awesome show guys!!

A great podcast with a very likable cast. Their discussion of film tropes and references are as funny as they are interesting to learn. Fun, Fast Paced, and Funny
The short of it: A couple of dudes get together and spend around an hour of bouncing ideas off of each other on movies or TV series for both fresh takes on familiar IPs and never before dared concepts. The results are mixed, but witnessing the journey is always fun. I, like I assume many people who actually write reviews for podcasts, have a ongoing catalogue of shows I listen to while I’m working and commuting, and decided to give this a shot. While I don’t agree on all of their Hot Nerd Takes (“The Force Awakens was worse than the prequels”) the image they painted in episode 1 for a Zelda TV series really won my heart, and the Jar-jar episode had me furious because I actually wanted the movie to exist. So far (I’m on episode 5) all of the humor and jokes have been pretty good natured, which is something I really appreciate, and I’ve come away every time feeling pretty pumped up to work on my own projects. It feels like sitting around with a couple of coworkers, having a beer, and playing around with a little bit of fun storycrafting. I’d highly recommend starting from episode one, but I’ve had no problem with jumping around based on my mood. Great job, guys.

GG Story Break, GG (Matt speak up tho)
I first found out about Rocket Jump with VGHS and as soon as I heard the first commercial for this podcast on another Maximum Fun show, I had to check it out. Makes my twice daily hour commute into a nostalgia ridden gut bust. You don’t just break stories, you bust guts too! My only gripe is that Matt has a habit of leaving his mic in another room while talking(he gets REAL quite) and I gotta turn the volume waaay up for about 10-15 seconds and then he comes back to the mic and I have to essentially mute the podcast to recalibrate. I really want to hear what he has to say cuz usually it is right after he exclaims “Oh”!...only gripe.

Fantastic
The first podcast I ever listened to was the original Facerocker Podcast, and I’m so glad these guys are still at it. Story Break is a blast to listen to every week and has produced a lot of ideas that I would genuinely love to see on the big screen. An incredible mix of humor, creativity, and frustration as three of Hollywood’s most sought after writers churn out hit after hit ever week.

If It's Broken, Don't Fix It...
Gonna try to be concise with this review, but as a purveyor of numerous podcasts and a guy who brainstorms movies in my head way too much, this podcast scratches a particular itch that's been desperately needing to be scratched. The Rocket Jump boys have consistently been entertaining with their adaptational thought experiments (even if they sometimes drift into territory already covered in previous episodes). Regardless, it's a blast listening to what goes on in the writers' room with these guys, and I'm dying for more. For those wanting to get a good idea of what this podcast is like, my personal recommendations of the stories broken so far are The Jar Jar Binks Movie, Dirty Dan, and Scholastic: Internet. However, my hands-down favorite story so far has been Clippy. It's all good stuff, regardless.

Would watch most of these movies.
Lots of comedic value here, but I legitimately teared up during some of these breaks. I now wish clippy had the star power to get a movie about him funded. There is one major flaw I’ve noticed. You guys don’t give your moms enough credit. I mean you sprinkle little green aliens around like black pepper, but you keep moms locked away like goddamn garlic salt. Where’s the respect?!?

Bake and break
This Podcast you guys have created has become one of my most anticipated pieces of Audio Candy in my digital pillow case from week to week. As I write this I'm listening to Freddie's Dream which I thought was going to be about Freddy Krueger's nightmares and also would your first attempt at a horror film. Although I can understand why creating a plot for a straight horror movie wouldn't be the most entertaining to some, I would certainly enjoy it. I like to think I'm the creative type and sometimes me and my friends would hangout, smoke some doobies and come up with movie plots for anime/ shows/ video games. I think you guys should BREAK the story of Inuyasha. A beloved anime that most people might recognize from Adult Swim when they were younger. Also my names Eli Cochran but everyone calls me Panda. Ily you guys. Keep it up

It’s so fun to listen in on the creative process of other artists trying to breaking a story while I work on creating content of my own. Every Storybreak Episode in a Nutshell
Matt proposes ideas that Will shoots down, all while Freddie just kinda laughs in the background. Eventually one of them gives the final touch and then Will wonders in retrospect if it’s diverse enough.... Quickly becoming my favorite podcast! After every episode I feel like I’ve just watched irl whatever story got broken. Some are so good that while a real studio might never make them, I want to see a rocket jump version or take them on myself! Excited for the series arch of Freddie suggesting more ideas, Matt standing up to Will, and Will learning to occasionally drop the five act structure...

Love this podcast, literally downloaded iTunes to make this review. It helps me get threw my 9 to 5 without going crazy, and I really just enjoy rocket jump in general. If i could make a request for an up coming story break, kind of like what you did with boss baby and jumper, the movie Ready Player One that is based off my favorite book of all time has a trailer that says next to nothing about the stroy. I don't know if any of you have read the book but it would be amazing to see if you could figure the story out and make a movie based off what you find out. You know, wiki and what not. Thanks for the great podcast guys, I'll be listening till the end.

A Diamond in the Rough
As a prospective writer, this podcast is the best out there when it comes to not only thinking outside the box but also, inside, turning it inside-out, reshaping, and completely throwing the box out a window in thinking about simple ideas in ways never thought possible. Witty, genius, and a hell of a good time to listen to. Was half hoping for you guys to shoe-in the old Microsoft wizard or dog for when you search for items on your computer in the Clippy episode. Wondering what your guy's take on a Dungeons and Dragons movie/show would be or about a library where the book characters can come to life.

Great job with the show, you guys! It's always an entertaining listen, and I hope this podcast will be continuing for a long time to come. One thing that I've noticed that is that the outlines tend to come out the best when you already have a cast of characters to work with (e.g. the Magic, Scholastic and Blast Corps episodes). Nice to listen to the spiritual successor of the FaceRocker podcast. A few humble requests: - More guests (please have Logan and more Roosterteeth folks come on) - Bring back the weekly Jump-date - Please revisit Freddie's awesome movie idea from FaceRocker episode ??? I could go on and on about how entertaining this podcasts is and reasons why this is the only podcast I feel myself drawn to consistently follow. However, I'll refrain myself from everything but this: these guys are the future of filmmaking, especially when it comes to a transition from cartoons or video games to live-action format. The worst best thing in my life
When I was a child I remember having the faintest, secret hope deep within that someday we would discover a planet where Pokémon were real. I remember this because it was a childish, unrealistic, yet somehow pure hope. Now, I experience it as an adult - hoping that literally any one of these podcasts results in the cinematic MASTERPIECES that are laid out in a single hour by the rocketjump team. Seriously, these are thrilling and intellectually stimulating while equally hilariously entertaining - and then leave you greatly depressed. It's like having someone describe to you the beauty of Nirvana in a way that you can almost feel it, and then you wake up and realize you will NEVER have it. To sum it up: This podcast is for anyone who enjoys movies, television, storytelling, video games, fiction novels, or really anyone who enjoys experiencing raw creativity being born and then forged into a fine masterwork of art - but you can only hear about it and you never get to gaze upon its beauty. 8/8, mate. Would listen again.

As an aspiring writer and director this is an awesome podcast. I've watched Freddie and Rocketjump ever since S1 of VGHS and though I don't really watch RJFS, this podcast alone has taught me a lot. One adjustment for the ending of Where's Waldo
I loved pretty much everything about the idea for Waldo, but I wasn't quite satisfied with the ending. What if after she has been made fun of, she decides to abandon the magic for the rest of her mediocre high school career until, at graduation, she is giving a speech about never abandoning who you really are, she looks into the audience, and sees Waldo. Then a small tear rolls down her cheek as she is reminded of the magic.

Highly Enjoyable Experience!! Must Listen!!
I was fortunate enough to discover these guys through Funhaus. I decided to give these guys a listen and boy am I glad I did. Because I drive over an hour to work every day, I have been looking for something to help pass the time. After listening to the Metroid episode, I decided to go all the way to number one and begin listening to all of the podcast. Trust me when I say this is it just a half assed podcast. The people involved take time and thought into every little detail and the sound quality is fantastic! Not only does it provide good storytelling based on iconic video game characters like Metroid and Zelda, but it also is an enjoyment to hear how the story develops from the ground up. The way the storytellers begin to develop the story gives you the opportunity to have a clear visual image in your mind. That to me is the best part of the podcast. Listening to the story of these people have to say and picturing it in your mind. I look forward to all their future content and I appreciate you guys hosting the podcast. I also want to say thank you to rooster teeth and Funhaus for giving me the opportunity to discover this great podcast. Wishing nothing but the best! Joshua N Twitter: @FinalChaosYT

Explains Rocketjump
This show is an interesting look at the writing process, warts and all. While the guys do occasionally come up with a great take on a story (Clippy and Jar-Jar), it also shows the dangers of collaborative creation. One writer will have a great idea, and the others will cut it off; similarly, one writer will have an absolutely awful idea and foist it upon the others through sheer force of personality and stubborness (Matt in Fast and the Furious). Seriously? Aliens in the Fast series makes more sense than a government conspiracy involving the moon landings? For longtime fans of Freddiew, I think it also helps show why Rocketjump has become what it has become today. Freddiew speaks the least, but has probably the best sense for the quick-hitting and well-timed gag or setup. Will is obsessed with jamming whatever story is conceived into a five act story structure and talking over everyone. Matt can never make up his mind whether he wants to be artistic or funny, and the result ends up a muddled mess. Also constant Seth Rogan giggles. Rocketjump was best when making short, quick pieces that knew if the central conceit was humor or great action. While they certainly mixed, each short had a core identity. The shows Rocketjump has come out with since the end of Video Game High School have essentially had a problem of identity. They want to be taken seriously but also make stupid jokes. The podcast shows these problems come from the writing room. Pretty decent podcast, will listen to occasionally.

The Perfect Podcast.
I would HEAVILY recommend this podcast to anyone even a little bit interested in the process of filmmaking/writing. Matt, Will, and Freddie actually show how stories begin to break, while doing it in a fun and entertaining manner. I honestly wish I had found it later, so I would have more episodes to go back and listen to. It's so good I wish that the episodes were twice as long. I anticipate it coming out every week, as it is a barrel of laughs and I actually learn a little bit about the construction of a story. I look forward to hopefully many more episodes in the future, with more special guests, (This is literally Max Landis' dream podcast, just sayin'.) Thank you guys for the endless laughs, you're the best. Keep doing what you're doing.

Please keep this Alive!
I've been listening to the Facerocker podcasts since before the Facebook trademark issue. Every couple of months I revisit the old episodes and listen to them all the way through. It takes a couple weeks at work but you guys are so entertaining This new show has the same elements I love about the old form, and every week I'm impressed with what you can come up with on air in such a short time (minus Jumper). It really illustrates the challenges as well as the advantages of having multiple people break down a story. I had a friend who had no idea who you guys were or what Rocketjump or FreddieW was and he loves it. Keep it up!

Love this so much
With rocketjump shorts being more widespread in release, finding this podcast has helped fill the entertainment void I've had. It also helps because my primary device is an old worn ipod shuffle. Thanks for all the laughs, P.S. My friend is obsessed with the idea of a choose your own adventure movie, but i was thinking that if it were possible, a choose your own adventure universe could be made. P.P.S I'd like this story to break u guys to crush my friend's dreams. :)

Great for movie fans!
They had a podcast called "Face Rocker" and it was my favorite podcast. To me "Story Break" is a spiritual successor. They are smart and hilarious in crafting these stories. Recommend to all writing and/or film fans.

Love this show
I love being a fly on the wall as these guys brainstorm magical story moments and continue to ask "What is this story about?" until they get it done. I'm telling all my writer friends about this.

Favorite Podcast to date!
I love this podcast. The way you guys go in depth with the brainstorming process is something that most behind the scenes footage doesn't show. As an aspiring filmmaker it helps give an idea on how narrative stories can be generated! I have an idea for an episode. Remember that Speed Racer movie from 2008?? How would you guys fix it if you were going to reboot it? :)

They Broke the Jar Jar Binks Movie!
Huge fan of the Facerocker podcast and the To the Future podcast. These guys and gals are killing it. They didn't just break the Jar Jar Binks movie, they absolutely destroyed it. Great podcast concept and execution. I will be listening to every one of these.

How is this the best new podcast?
Freddie W how in the world did you come up with this. This is so good!!! I love how some of your movie premises are so bad yet so good. Why would I want to learn about a Jar Jar movie? I wouldn't but your guys are so good that you make it work. I am so excited every time a new one is out. Keep up the good work guys. Jon B. Minneapolis, MN

A New Favorite!
After the end of The Facerocker podcast I searched far and wide across the dunes of the internet to find a podcast with the kind of chemistry the cast had with each other. Finally this comes out and the void of audio entertainment has been filled! Seriously though the atmosphere the guys bring to this podcast is so fun and hilarious to listen too. Not only that but it's incredibly entertaining to hear what their process is like for writing out a story. If no one picks up their version of the KCU then it would be a missed opportunity.

This show is addicting, in a very good way!
I'm glad I caught word of this fantastic podcast so early in it's production so it wouldn't take me long to catch up. I mean, I would've listened to them all if there were already 100 episodes out, this way it's just way more convenient. Please keep up the fabulous work!
