Awesome narrator
Someone wrote poorly of the narrator, but she has a fantastic and soothing voice. And obviously, these 3 minute tidbits are very helpful and digestible if needing a quick relationship pick me up.

Not great
I like reading the Gottman’s research, and I was looking for relationship podcasts my husband and I could listen to— so we gave this one a try. After listening for probably a month, I’m not very impressed. It sounds to me like the podcast is taking corollary data from research and assuming a causal relationship. Then it’s going a step further and turning that data into prescriptive advice. It’s basically the equivalent of finding in research that healthy people tend to be thin, then assuming that they are healthy BECAUSE they are thin (wrong), and then telling people “If you want to be healthy, be thin!” Wrong wrong wrong. People already get the message all the time that they should be thin, just telling them to “be thin” #1 doesn’t help at all, because if they knew how they already would and #2 the data doesn’t indicate than thinness causes health. Sorry for all the jargony language but that’s what I feel is happening. The last episode I listened to literally suggested that you should say “we” instead of “I” or “me” when talking about things because that will make your relationship happier….. what??? That does not sound right. It sounds like they found in the research that happy couples tend to do that…. But that doesn’t mean it leads to happiness. And I can think of a few good reasons to maintain your “I” and “me” in life. There have been a lot of pieces of “advice” like that, but I wanted to listen for a while to give it a chance. Chances are up. TL;DR: I don’t think this podcast has good advice. I will be looking for a different one.

Great advice but they need a new narrator
Love love love all these tips for couples. Very practical and helpful. It’s hard for me to listen routinely because the narrator has a voice and tone that is very difficult to listen to. Please get a new narrator. Thanks!

Very digestible while science based help
Every episode is based on scientific research yet short enough to help you implement the concepts the very same day. Either party or both from every couple will learn something that will bolster the foundation of your love relationship.

Narrator is annoying
The info is good but the narrator makes it hard to listen. She sounds super young and like she’s talking to a child.

Great content but could not listen
Love the content but it gets lost because the narrator is talking extremely fast, as though it is on fast forward. It was too distracting for me to continue listening.

Tone of voice ruins content
I find the tone of voice of this woman to be super annoying. She is trying to be conversational and intimate but it comes off as hokey and a bit patronizing all at the same time. I’m sure the content would be helpful (though some of it sounds easier said than done) but I end up just getting annoyed when I listen.

Helpful and practical!
I love this podcast! Very helpful and practical info. Helps my boyfriend and I immensely. I’d give a 5 star but downgraded to a 4 star because the narrator speaks entirely way too fast. I appreciate the aim of keeping the episodes short and sweet but the fast-forward nature makes it difficult to digest (and enjoy) the information.

Good information. Needs new narrator.
Good information. The narrator has a nice voice but it doesn’t feel appropriate for this content. The gravity of this information is being lost through it.

An ABSOLUTE for your relationship
These short teachings have truly helped me love my husband better because I can communicate with him better. Healthy communication was not my strong suit coming into our marriage, and the Gottman Institute was recommended to me during marriage prep. I have watched all the YouTube clips I could find, and now consider the weekly podcasts an essential part of my week. I listen to them so that I can grow as a whole person, especially in my role as wife:) If you can continue to share how to handle having conversations after a long day at work would be great. Also, any tips for juggling family holidays would be appreciated.
