Great Podcast!
Episode 1 with Renée Marino is the latest GREAT episode from this podcast. I am often inspired by Kevin’s work and his ability to draw out his guests. This episode, like so many before it, really resonated with me. I am eager to read Renée’s book. I look forward to upcoming episodes.

Great guide to health- but think about the advertisements please
I’m listening to how to parent my children to be more healthful and loving the information, then the discussion is interrupted by an add for donuts??? Then Wendy’s? “If it comes through a window, it isn’t real food”? I appreciate that sponsors help keep these podocasts coming, but this seems quite contrary to the messages you are promoting.

Show 11/16/22
Kevin and Randy, thank you for this thoughtful and thought-provoking discussion on self-worth and where we find it. I, too, cannot get away from the bedrock of God as this source. To be aware of being created in the image of God by God to be in fellowship with God is foundational. When all points fail besides, these remain and pick us up and point us in the right direction. Many times listening to your discussion I got tears in my eyes reflecting on my own life and that of others. I’ve so much to be thankful for and so much room to grow. It was meaningful to “grapple” with you guys today.

I really enjoy this podcast. All the different types of people Kevin brings on. It’s not just one area or your life, he hits on everything. I’ve been introduced to several great books and resources through this podcast so I am very thankful.

The BEST podcast ever!!
I’ve been listening to this show since its beginning. Kevin interviews and talks about the very things that I need!! All of his guests are great and the topics are what I need for my own life. My favorite day is when Kevin and Randy are on the show together. I’m 58 years old and the topics are so relevant to how I choose to live my own life. I listen to a lot of health podcasts and this is my favorite. Thank you all, I’m also envious (in a good way ) of the friendship that you all have!!! Kathy

Great Podcast , Covers a wide range of topics!
This is a great podcast covering everything from how to stay healthy, how to grow and develop personally, and how to overcome obstacles in life. Kevin bring incredible speakers to the show and asks great questions of the speakers which results in thought provoking conversations. I get some great takeaways from every episode . I’m grateful to Kevin for putting this show together and sharing the knowledge with his listeners.

Great content
The guest list is impressive and the questions are great! I wish Kevin wasn’t too much into himself and let the guest answer the questions fully and share their own experiences accordingly. I admire Kevin for his remarkable life and accomplishments, however, I’ve noticed that the interviews are more of an opportunity for the host to talk about himself.

Valuable Content
I originally found this show in 2014. I listened pretty consistently from 2016-2020 and gained so much value from the different authors and interviews Kevin brought out. To be fully transparent, I stopped listening in 2020 because I felt that as a leadership podcast, they were not rising to the level needed in our current climate. I was disheartened that they avoided the controversial subjects rather than modeling how to lean into them. Recently I saw they had Tyler Merritt on, whom I admire and respect. I was curious how they would approach this conversation. I greatly appreciated the humble way Kevin led a conversation around race that was clearly difficult for him, but he was so transparent. And then I appreciated in the follow up episode how he engaged with Tyler around his spiritual beliefs, which I completely shared as well. I will probably be returning as a more consistent listener because these episodes helped restore my trust.

One of the best Podcasts
The Self-Help(ful) podcast is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Every episode inspires and encourages me to raise the bar on who I know I can become. Interviews like those with Josh Peck and Sarah Fay resonate in a powerful way, focusing on the personal power we each have to overcome any obstacle and create the life of our dreams. Thank you Kevin Miller!

Continuously Rambles.
The host is a rambler. Seems like he is conducting interviews for his own personal validation. Constantly talks about him self and Dominates the interview vs. developing high quality questions and allow for the guest to go deeper. Show is better when Tom Ziglar is on. Tom shares high quality information and quality facts and expertise.

Life-Changing Content Powerfully Carrying on the Ziglar Legacy
This is one of my go to podcasts. The guests bring critical, life-changing messages and I so appreciate how Kevin curates to find people who can speak practical wisdom in clear, applicable ways. In addition, Kevin brings uncommon vulnerability, sharing how the messages apply in his own life, often asking the questions I would ask in that same situation. Thank you Kevin for being a student in my place so I can learn based on the great questions you ask! I highly recommend this show, but be warned, you may end up buying a lot of books written by the fantastic guests. :-)

Love Zig & Tom. Bought, read & listened to tons of stuff. Laura on the “Millionaire podcast ‘ . So counter to what Dave Ramsey teaches. Very complicated advice . Risky at best. Beer & liquor ads . That seems so anti Ziglar. Lost a tremendous amount of respect

Kevin Miller does an excellent job hosting this podcast. I always enjoy his thoughtful questions to the guest. Kevin is genuine with his own life struggles and successes which make him relatable. This is a podcast I never miss! I have been a longtime fan of Zig. I love hearing his sound biblical beliefs and how to relate them to today. The Bible is alive and always applicable. Almost every episode is very valuable
I listen to every episode of this podcast. Almost every one has been very, very valuable. Occassionally there will be one that I don't find helpful or interesting, but that is to be expected with any podcast given we all have our own likes/dislikes. I have noticed the same technical problems others have commented on. The editing of the podcasts could use some fine tuning, but those types of things won't stop me from listening to a podcast with a great message from a trustworthy source.

Message is good, production problems with podcast
Lately, this podcast has technical issues. I tried to find another means of reaching out to no avail. Anyway, the podcast indescriminately jumps to the previous episode 2 or 3 times during play and I have to reopen the episode (thankfully it starts where it jumped off). Also, it repeats content sporadically (e.g. play 10 minutes, repeat the same 10 minutes, then continue on). I'd guess over the last 3 or 4 months. I'm almost to the point of unsubcribing.

Accessible from Guam 🇬🇺
A friend of mine first introduced me to Zig Ziglar over 20 years ago by giving me some of the productivity tools. It was in paper format so if the kids found it I may not see it again. Nonetheless, those pages introduced me to this genre with great excitement. Zig’s ability to help people focus on the important areas of life was a great fuel to my success. Now years later I’m so pleased to have at my fingertips even more available Zig products and services. I listen and re-listen to you everyday. Thank you ~ from Guam 🇬🇺

Grateful!
I want to thank Kevin Miller and the Ziglar Show podcast for being such an important part of my life. I have gone from working in the social services field for 20 years in which I was completely miserable to launching my own Professional Organizing business this year. I have gone from being someone very reserved who rarely engaged on Facebook or with people in general to someone intentionally reaching out through posts on my business page 5 days per week & in other public capacities. Although I am in the beginning stages I already feel so incredibly happy & blessed to be living out my dream and passion. I owe this transformation in part to the Ziglar Show as it is my “go to” for maintaining a positive mindset; for being mentored by unparalleled leadership; and for helping me to develop life-sustaining habits. For my health spoke, I have developed the habit of walking 2 miles every day of the week and during that time I listen to the Ziglar Show podcast. Congratulations on your show’s success! You all deserve it!

I listened to it twice!
John Ruhlin is incredible! And his tips, strategies, energy is so inspiring that I listened to this episode twice! I’ve never done that before! We’ve been gifting all wrong and there are simple steps to take to get on the right track. I’m starting my own business and while listening I made a list of 10 people in my network that have been instrumental in getting me to where I am today. I’m going to write them (or theirs wife/kids if their an executive!) a hand written note and send them a personalized gift to thank them for believing in me, challenging me, making time for me, sharing their wisdom and walking with me on my journey! There’s a cherry on top too - gift giving has always made me feel GREAT but I thought it was not worth prioritizing, so I’ve started giving meaningless gifts - not any longer! I’ve shared Johns podcasts with a dozen friends and am putting his tips into action! THANK YOU John Ruhlin! #OneLifeLoveEveryone #Blessed

It is great to hear Zig's stories being kept alive. The fact that it is now being used to help foster more discussion through social media makes it even better. I had forgotten how to be inspired. You reminded me. Years ago I listened to motivational speakers on cassette tape. At the time I was self employed. Kevin and Tom are amazing. Kevin is a great interviewer and they get a lot of today’s relevant professionals to speak on the show. RIP Zig Ziglar - he was the best
I had to stop listening when there was an episode that essentially put down working moms. Entrepreneurship and sales aren't just for men / dads. I am a proud female entrepreneur and mom, but felt shamed by the particular episode. I don't run a business to have a late model car (something that was said multiple times, that people are putting money over family), but because I love running a business. It didn't feel very motivational. That said, I love Zig Ziglar! I can't get myself to come back to this after that particular episode.

I listened to Zig Ziglar's teachings on cassette tapes back in the 80's and the information and guidance is still relevant today and will be relevant tomorrow. Every time a new person is on the show new ideas pop into my head and I feel motivated, happy, and excited to try new things. It helps me through the day-to-day which can get long. Thank you!!

Many interesting guests
In recent years, my interest in nonfiction, biographies, and self-motivation has grown a great deal. I used to never read that stuff. But at this stage in life, I am seeking ways to continue growing and make my own way. This podcast has been very helpful as I have heard many interesting interviews. Several interviews led me to reading books by those guests or about related topics. The episodes without guests feel like bonuses as I learn about habits and rituals that have benefitted others. While some of the information can get redundant, I still find it helpful to have such things reinforced. Plus, it helps reinvigorate me and put my focus back on my goals.

This show is a fountain of wisdom and knowledge overflowing with profound ideas and themes! I would’ve never heard of these life lessons if it wasn’t for the interviews with all of these successful people. Each interview is with a person with a different background and story but it’s spoken about in way that enables you to draw the wisdom out of it making it easily applicable to your own mindset and life! Thank you!

Great podcast!
This podcast reminds me of a church sermon in a way. What I mean is, oftentimes when you hear a sermon, the message content is built upon a verse or a few verses and it is broken down and explained deeply. The Ziglar podcast is just that, a clip(s) of Zig’s wisdom that is broken down and explained or expanded upon. This is a must listen for those attending the “Automobile University”.

Learn how to win in all aspects of life.
I’ve been listening to Zig Ziglar on CD for years and his teachings have been an incredibly positive influence on my life. I recently found The Ziglar Show podcast and love the deconstruction of Zig’s lessons as well as insightful interviews. The personal development and emotional intelligence skills taught are applicable no matter what your career field. I recently listened to episode 570 - Change your attitude or circumstance and it was a true “aha” moment for me. In all aspects of my life I tend to focus on the negative at times and switching to an attitude of gratitude not only makes each day better but has opened me up to so many opportunities I normally would look past. Thank you for making my drive to work a time to focus on how I can work to serve others and myself better!

Thank you Ziglar Team!
What an amazing legacy! Please keep up the great work. The most impactful recent episodes are 572 and 574 “how to relate to others with value” and “triumphs from tragedies” respectively. A goldmine of resources and wisdom: • learning mindset • everyone in the room is a beating heart • hurt people hurt people • what we already know • the sin of the desert • questions • remembering names • The value of a smile • scale of 1 to 10 • what people will never forget and more... crammed into just one episode!! Thank you again Tom and Kevin, may God bless you, your team and you’re families.

If you care about what you put in your body, then this is your pod cast!
For Kevin Miller: Matthew 7:9-10. You couldn't remember the scripture you were trying to reference. For Tom Ziglar: "A smile is a curved line that set everything straight"-Phillis Diller. I am in agreement with some of the 1 star reviewers in that the content while great is still 99.9% Zig when it comes to the meat and potatoes of the proven techniques being provided. That being said, if you haven't read secrets to closing the sale, or see you at the top, or how to develop a positive self image, then this podcast will do what it is supposed to do...and make you hungry to learn more about Zig Ziglar and how to sell. A great sister podcast to this one is Entreleadership by Dave Ramsey, which in my humble opinion does have a more relevent and cutting edge format, where every source is cited and credited. As my title says if you care about what you put in your body, this is a sound podcast with a timeless message and lessons by Zig. I wish I had a pump, and if you don't know what I am talking about then this podcast will help prime you for success.

Honestly, I don't think that there are enough words to express and explain how great this podcast is. I feel that the real focus of the podcast is possitivity. Inspiration on Call
I’ve been listening to this podcast for about a year and a half and I’ve listened to and read a couple of Zig’s books but let’s be real- it’s not always easy to keep a positive mental attitude. Like Zig says, motivation is like bathing- it’s most effective if you do it every day. I’d been in a bit of a funk, recently, but on Thursday I accidentally hit play on the Ziglar podcast on my phone and episode # 566 “Do you go above and beyond?” came on. It opened with Zig’s story of “priming the pump” and his encouragement to pour your passion and energy into your work and life hit home. For me this was a timely and much needed episode and I’m grateful for such a wealth of inspiration that is so readily available.

Zig's insight lives on
I was thrilled when the Ziglar podcast came back after a long dormancy. The format has changed and varies from episode to episode. My favorites are the long Zig clips followed by a discussion of the principles described in the clip.. espescially when Tom Ziglar is part of the discussion. Other episodes may includes guest interviews or listener comments on questions posed in Facebook. Definitely a recommended listening.

Vegetables for your mind
Listening to the Ziglar podcast is like feeding vegetables to my mind. It feels great, and when you make it a habit, it transforms your appetite. I've been listening to shows like this and The Brian Buffini Show for about a year now, and my life has been transforming slowly. I've lost my appetite for garbage like watching TV. When I wake up in the morning, I can't wait to hear another episode. I love the stories this show brings us from people who've really struggled in life and still managed to achieve great success. So much great information
This is an amazing Podcast because of the variety of information presented. There are so many different guests, which allows for varying perspectives on how to be your best self. It's fascinating how you can see similar themes running through the stories of successful people, and I've learned about several different strategies that can bring you to change and fulfillment. The only thing I recommend (and I don't know if this is just this Podcast or if it's an iTunes thing) is that when you listen to a podcast, it goes to the next one in line, going forwards. For example, the way it works now is, after I listen to #500, the next podcast to play is #499 instead of #501. I'd like to go back to maybe #200 and let it continuously play forward to the present, but if I play 200, the next one to play will be 199.

Our whole family has been inspired to "true performance"
THE BEST FREE WISDOM A WHOLE FAMILY LOVES TO HEAR! It was only about a year ago that our family of 8 started listening on our MANY travel sporting adventures and today our family is a different family because of it! As a wife, mother, entrepreneur, do-gooder, dream bigger, live larger, give GOD ALL THE GLOR, intentionally happy woman I seek to use every moment to learn and teach. I knew my kids were listening when they would start to say all of Zig's famous qoutes back to me in proper reference and use. However I knew in the moment my 14 year old son answered " Zig Ziglar" when asked, one person they would like to go out to lunch, later to discover he would like to follow in his steps of teaching, speaking and motivating great living! Life was an uphill climb all my life and I've stood upon many mountains but I know that some of these wise lessons do not always have to be learned through personal hardship. My husband and I both listen in our cars and during our chores to keep us inspired and motivated to keep going 100%- 100% of the time and along the way it's fallen on many ears that we know have learned more than we could have taught on our own. It takes a village we know and so we are beyond thankful to the Ziglar team for being a part of ours!

Good stuff!
My dad had the tapes in the late 80s as I was finishing high school and starting college. We listened to them over and over. One day a few months ago I accidentally ran across the Ziglar Show podcast on Spotify. Listening to as many as I can get in my brain has reminded me how much of medical schooling, training, and running my business and even life in general were based on these solid principles. Now I’m convicted again to live with intentionality. I’ve now got kids the same age and we are enjoying the positive education that Kevin and Tom bring. Thanks so much for inspiring another generation!!!

One of my faves
Although Zig is gone, I appreciate how the Zig message is being carried on. Kevin is an excellent host. His expertise and ease as a host add to the success of this podcast. But please, no more Tom! His ramblings and attempts at relating to the topic always take it way off track!

Speaker phone clarity
Fantastic podcasts, but Tom Ziglar’s speaker phone quality is very poor. Whenever he speaks in the podcasts, the professional quality and perception is diminished. It very much needs replacing.

Zig’s Legacy Thankfully Lives On
We were so fortunate to have Zig in our lifetime. He truly was not only someone who “broke the mold” but was so honest and real. That’s why he was able to change so many lives. This podcast which continues Zig’s legacy is just great. Thanks to all who contribute. I feel Zig’s spirit in every episode and am a richer person for it.

Michael Jr Episode
I’ve been a Ziglar Show listener for a while now and I get a lot of great stuff from all you guys. This recent Michael Jr episode was top shelf stuff. Not sure what made it so different or why it’s so much more applicable to me - but regardless; loved the message. I too will be buying that book if he actually takes your all’s advice and writes it! Wow. Thank you, thank you.

Need to hear Zig occasionally
I have been listening to this podcast for many years. Always enjoyed when Zig was alive. A few months back, they seem to have cut out playing some old audios of Zig. I think they should play some occasionally. Also, try to keep the format to no more than an hour. Some of these shows drone on. I know they are trying to "find their way" but go back to the roots of Zig's message and tell me what you want to tell me; tell me; and close byu telling me what you told me. Great guests of many flavors so very worthwhile listening as yo never know when you find a pearl from any of the guests.

Amazed!
I am just amazed! I have only been listening to this podcast for the last couple of weeks. I started because I felt the weight of starting my own business pulling me down. But this show and the guest speakers on it have really opened my eyes and my mind and lifted the weight. It is like they are helping me carry the weight of this venture...even though they don’t know me from Adam. And so through that I am truly amazed!

Value Bomb Grand Central
The guests interviews and insights from Kevin Miller, Tom Ziglar, and Michele Prince brings me into deep reflection of my daily activities and priorities. I like how Tom describes that there are people out there walking around like zombies and The Ziglar Show brings us to an awakening of our internal self and forces us to decide what we can change and not remain the same. As a fellow podcaster I am able to glean new ideas to improve my show while I try to help other people get what they want or, to quote Jordan Harbinger from a recent show, ABC - Always Be Giving.

Garbage
Very disappointed to listened to Tom go on negatively about the government in episode 484. Is he a white supremacist? Sure comes across as one. If you're a white male - this podcast is for you. Just deleted it. Info is mostly self- promotional anyway. Not much value here.

Love the podcast! One request...
Big fan of the podcast, been exposed to Zig for decades since I was a kid. Miss Zig... Keep up the awesome work! My request would be to get better audio equipment for Tom Z or find a better location to record. While everyone else sounds so good, Tom's audio quality is not up to par... kinda distracting. Feedback meant with best of intentions.

They bring in quality people to interview every week which I love. I also love listening to Zig clips, even if I have heard them before, they bring timeless truths that challenge me every time. I don't particularly love the application portion of these episodes, but that is my personal preference. I recommend this podcast to my friends and family on a regular basis.

I wanted to Like but poor quality made my not able to.
The content is fine. However, someone with an open microphone is screen shotting on their phone and the camera sounds are being played. This is on almost every episode. Then to top it off the Microphone from The older man is poor quility or a slow internet connection. Lastly it sounds much like a skype call. I would pass on this one until someone with knowedlge of setting up a podcast with guests is investigated. If you are reading this... you send a recorder to each perosn that is on your podcast and record each episode on a seperate recorder. Then each device is sent back to headquarters and put together with high quality audio. It isn't complicated. I will wait until next year to pick this one back up.

More inspired and motivated
Hi Kevin, I started listening to your show several months ago. It has tremendously helped me have a better outlook. It's easy to find the negative but it's much healthier to focus on the positive. Zig's keen words literally inspire me to be positive. As a result I'm pursuing an avenue to expand my business that will enable me to have a better quality of life by being able to spend more time with my family. I purchased the Born To Win series and Secrets of Closing the sale on Amazon after hearing Zig here. They are thought provoking and stimulating. I think the thing that Zig and your show have helped me the most with is learning how to identify the toxic voices in my life. We can all focus on the bad but we won't get as far as if we find the good. We can't here that message enough. I would love to hear a discussion on what is appropriate dress in a professional setting today. This has changed a lot recently and we often debate it in our office. I work in a direct sales role with primarily senior citizens. It seems like most people have gotten really relaxed in their everyday wardrobe. Does that mean we should be more relaxed or should we remain formal etc.? I know this is different for various positions but any insight on this will be appreciated. Thank you for all you do! Keep up the great work!

Counselor recommended
I began devouring Zig Ziglar's wisdom just two years ago. I've know his name for decades, but never took the time to hear his message. The last two years have been transforming as I've applied his teachings to my relationships, career and clients. I've increased my confidence, doubled income and tripled my joy as I've integrated Ziglar's wisdom from the True Performance podcast. I've also downloaded many audilble books of Zig's and simply cannot get enough. I'm a clinical mental health counselor and give many assignments from Ziglar's teachings to my clients. I always insist that my patients download the podcast and report what they have applied during the week. I thank Kevin Miller and Tom Ziglar for the legacy they continue in their well prepared and insightful podcast!

I used to love this podcast
I'm a huge Zig fan, been following him since I saw him speak in the 1990s, and he truly changed my life. The older episodes of this podcast are great, but the new format of interrupting interviews and telling us we can hear the interviewees response after a message from a sponsor rattles my nerves. It's not like watching tv, I'm in my car on my 45 minute drive to work, I'm not going anywhere. I will listen to your sponsor ads. But by time the ad is over I find myself trying to remember the flow of the interview. Only to have it happen again a few minutes later. I get it, you need to pay the bills, and promote the Ziglar brand, but it's starting to feel contrived. There's too much promotion. I actually removed the podcast from my feed because I found myself constantly saying "hey Siri" while driving to end it. I'm still loyal to Zig, but not feeling the value from the podcast so much anymore. I hope the format improves, so I have the opportunity to enjoy it again in the future.

Hope filled inspiration
There is nothing more precious than hope. Hope finds us when we are cloaked in darkness and provides the glimmer of light needed at times to sustain. Then once we take grasp of that hope it gives us the ability to envision and formulate the ladders that lead us out of the deep despair filled wells of life. Then hope inspires us to create the pathways which lead us to incredible things. Hope is also what drives us to cling to that path when it becomes arduous. I had at one point lost hope in life and was entrenched in the misery and pain that a life without hope so mercilessly delivers. A few years ago my life was completely upended and I embarked on a devastating spiral of self destruction which led me to the brink of my own sanity. There I found myself at the precipice of my life. I knew there had to be a way turn my life around but I just had no idea how to find the path or where to start. That is when, by the grace of God, I stumbled on the Ziglar podcast. I work in sales and knew Zig Ziglar was a sales guru so I figured I could get a few tips on how to close some more deals. I honestly didn't really know much about Zig or what the podcast was about. Little did I know that I had just stumbled upon the start of the journey of redemption I so desperately yearned for. The content in this podcast is life changing; I learned the pillars of a truly happy, inspired life, one that is now abundant with hope! Every aspect of my life has changed for the better. I certainly still have challenges to overcome but the difference is in how I look at them and how I approach them. I now know and believe with all of my heart that I will accomplish amazing things in my life. I now have the tools to get where I've always wanted to go. Oh, and by the way I'm already off to a pretty good start, I've doubled my income in a matter of months by applying the advice from the incredible people found here to my life. Words cannot describe the gratitude I have for Kevin, Tom and the rest of the staff who are responsible for this podcast! It is absolutely life changing!! Forever Grateful, Kris

Great show guys! I am 52 and when you mentioned how most of us don't get this until our 40s or 50s really hit home with me. For the last 3 years I have been trying to change, get out of a full time job and into being a business owner. looking at the good in a situation and not the bad. Responding, not reacting. Why did it take me so long to learn this? I believe I didn't have great teachers like you whispering in my ear. I am so happy to finally be waking up. Thank you for helping me get there. I cannot recommend this podcast enough. It has such a diverse list of guests and topics while always coming back to a group of core values instilled in by Zig himself. Valuable for Teachers
Your podcast is making me rethink my classroom culture and the values making appearances there. The best podcast I've subscribed to
There has never been anything that I've listened to that has brought me back down to earth and made me realize my significance or insignificance (depending on the episode) like this podcast has. My drive to work is just under an hour and I now start my day wtih the messages from each episode. Often, I re-play them, especially Simon Sinek's talk just because of how much it truly inspires me to be a good employee. I'm more appreciative of people, things, and myself through this podcast and while I sometimes think it's a shame that it took something like this to make me realize it, I'm glad it happened anyway. The guys who run this podcast have the best jobs in the world.

I stand corrected
I want to thank Kevin for addressing my review concerning the religious content in the podcast. My utmost respect for doing so. My opinion has changed, but I've left my original review for anyone interested in reading it. Original review: I think the information presented for productivity and positivity is fantastic. However, as an atheist, the stress on God is tiring, and all too often things get framed in a manner that either implies or occasionally says directly that God is the key to success. I wholeheartedly disagree with this concept, and while I respect the views of Zig and the podcast team, I also think stressing the importance of God in your life is condescending to people of non theistic belief systems.

TRUTH is truth!
I have been listening to this show since early 2016. I enjoy feasting on Zig's message every morning as I feed my mind during my 30 minute commute to the gym. I rarely write a review, but I wanted to tell Kevin he is doing a great job breaking down the messages from Zig. My only hang up sometimes is when the show feels the need to apologize for the Biblical lessons in Zig's teaching. I understand that you are building a business and trying to market and cater to everyone, but you can't worry about people who have their own issues with Truth. You can prepare the meal, present the meal but you can't make them eat. Be who you are, teach what you believe, and you will build a very solid business. I want to end by saying that you are doing a great job and I will continue to be an avid listener of the program.

Best of the best
I can't say enough good about this podcast! I recommend it to anyone who wants more/better andything in their life: more success, better family relationships, hope that the future will be better... You'll find it all here. I have listened to every podcast recorded from September, 2006 - October 17, 2015. The old format was great - a lot of Zig, changed the way I looked at business and Life in general. My family relationships have improved with my husband and my kids, and I am a better leader in my business. When the format changed in 2015 with Kevin Miller as the host, the show has gotten even richer, which I didn't think was possible. The way Kevin and Tom bring in successful people from around the world and interview them; I get something out of EACH and EVERY podcast!! Thank you to all involved to make this podcast. It truly has changed my life!!

Some dangerous advice being spouted here
I want to say first of all that some of the content is good, so listen and decide for yourself. However, there's also some dangerous advice being dished out by one of the hosts. Specifically, when it comes to sales, one of the hosts proudly states that he's a great sales person, despite never having made a cold call. He closes 95% of his leads, he proclaims! That's because he doesn't interact with them until they're ready to buy. He uses the Ziglar name to get attention for his products, which affords him this luxury. He doesn't know another world, where most people are selling a product or service no one's heard of. I suggest that if you follow his advice and wait for prospects to come to you, you'll be in a world of hurt. Zig would be appalled.

Awesome!
Kevin Miller and Tom Ziglar do an awesome job with this show. I have especially enjoyed the episode with Dave Ramsey, the two episodes on marriage Kevin and his wife did together, and recently the Q and A episode on deciding to pursue an idea with Dan Miller. I like the direction the show is going and I am glad I found this podcast. My wife, my mom, and my in laws all listen to it because I rave about how good it is. It's great to listen to on a long commute to work and I'll listen to the latest episode 2-3 times to get the most out of it. I also like how they do commercials for the sponsors. (I know that sounds silly but...) It doesn't feel like a commercial break, Kevin talks about the product/service like a friend recommending it and we're back on topic quick. I hope this podcast is with us for a long time. - salesman and business owner

Not good at what you claim to be
I don't remember the title of the podcast but I do remember what was said. Kevin Miller said that if someone was depressed that they shouldn't be in Sales. For a podcast claiming to be motivational and inspirational, you were neither.

LOVE! This podcast has become part of my daily life.
This podcast is my absolute favorite podcast. I've been listening to it daily for over a month now. I listen to it when I'm getting ready in the morning or when I'm driving to work and it just really gets my day and mind going. I end up not being able to stop thinking and talking about the topics to everyone I know. I find myself continuously referencing what I'm learning in the podcasts saying, "that reminds me of this podcasts I'm listening to..." I relate so much to them personally/spiritually/mentally... in my marriage, relationships and in my business. Your mindset is your lifestyle and this podcast is changing my life.. Thank you!!

Great motivation and wisdom but needs improved audio for Tom
I live Zig Ziglar and the commentary and guest on the show are great. My only suggestion is that they improve the audio for Tom. He sounds like he is talking into a computer microphone.

These shows are energizing me
I have always liked Zig Ziglar and in times past have almost always thought of his teachings are for salesmen. However his teachings are pure encouraging motivation, no matter what profession you are in. Also in the past I have only been able to afford to hear a little from his series, but this show gives you constant encouragement to do the right thing and be the right kind of person so you can be the best at what ever you put your mind to do. I have recently been unmotivated and tired of trying to better myself after giving my all at my day job and have just been thinking as I am getting older I must not have the energy I once did or I am lazy, but after listening to this podcast for the last week I am once again feeling my drive to succeed is kindling inside me once again. Thanks Kevin & Tom from a fan living in Tennessee!

Podcast 380
I love Zig as I saw him talk live in New Orleans many years ago and have been a follower for a long time. And while I know religion is important to him and motivated his life, this podcast was way too much God God God. I listen for motivation and inspiration and not to be converted by hearing scripture references. Looking forward to episode 381 that I hope will be less God.

Kevin Miller Is Tops!
Kevin’s delivery of time-tested advice is easy on the ears, the heart and the mind. He sits on the shoulders of Zig Ziglar and retells Zig’s stories in a modern setting that includes Kevin's wife, family, relatives, partners, business ventures, ups and downs. It’s like learning about life's lessons from a trusted friend. Many thanks Kevin!

Excellent resource for personal and professional development
I discovered the power of Zig Ziglar's motivational thought after meeting Bryan Flannagan and training with him. I was blown away by the ideas of developing and growing as a sales leader. I am using my commutes differently now ("automobile university") with "Secrets of Closing the Sale" on via Audible among the top of what I listen to. Now this podcast! What a great way to continue to let Zig's teaching continue to build in my life and work. The interviews are superb and flesh out the influence of Zig's teaching for another era. Listen as you drive. Listen as you shower. Listen as you exercise. But listen! You'll be glad you did!

The Ziglar Show is a quality podcast. If you're looking for inspiration, encouragement, and life direction, then this show is a must listen. My husband and I have a wonderful marriage. I love the idea of going back and capturing those feelings from so long ago. The crazy stuff I did to get his attention. We had so much fun and we still do, 30 years later. I have just recently found this podcast and I am loving it!! I listen all day while I work. Marriage Episode
Hello Kevin. That was a great interview with your wife on Marriage. My wife and I have been listening to the show for months now and this one really stuck out for me. It’s amazing how many things we could be doing for our spouse (that they can do for themselves) that we don’t do to show our appreciation of each other. We definitely have been working on this for the past year, but it’s funny this episode was a reminder why we have made those things a priority. Would love to hear you wife on episodes more often. She has a calming and confident voice and definitely should become a regular on the show. You both mixed very well on the episode. Thanks again for all that you do.

More marriage episodes, please!
And bring back Teri. You’re a great team. As for specific feedback on this episode--maybe you expected to hear this, maybe not—but, in general, I found myself irritated and angry by the end of the show (that’s the polite description). Not with either of you, of course. Did you ever work in Physical Therapy, by chance? You know how to dig down into the muscle and find the trigger points! Lots to think about. Thank you both for sharing in such an open, honest manner. Very helpful. I continue to enjoy many of the other episodes. Glad to find this podcast (and that is from a seldom-if-ever podcast listener). Thank you, sincerely.

Excellent episode on marriage
I just wanted to commend the host, Kevin Miller, and his bride on the recent podcast about marriage and playing Zig's message about pursuing your spouse as though you were courting them. Thank you both especially for sharing your story, insight, honesty and inspiration. This was perhaps the best episode so far.

Motivation
I love this podcast and the messages shared but there are a few things that have deterred me from listening as frequently as I used to. Now, I am giving 4 stars rather than 5 because of how the commercials are melted into an interview or into a message. It's pretty disruptive when you are processing a message and then "boom" here comes a shoutout to a razor company. I used to binge on the podcasts but am now falling behind. I've really identified that this is something that deters me from listening. Maybe saying "we are taking a break" or breaking it up in some way that allows the listener to know when a commercial is coming up. Attempts to tie it to the topic works but not in the middle of a thought or a discussion, I personally feel that it lessens the presence of the individual who is being interviewed.

Timeless
I used to hear Zig talk at Prestonwood Baptist in Dallas in the 90's. It was always completely delightful to watch him as well as hear him. His advice and wisdom are timeless. His delivery is matchless. This podcast makes it easy to get a lot of Zig, and adds new content as well. Great job!

This Show Saved My Life!
I started listening to this podcast out of despair. The internal negative self talk became so overwhelming that I stopped making sales calls for 3 months. I had so much self doubt and fear I just couldn't make those sales calls. I was living off my past success and knew it was only a short matter of time before my fate would come. I have listened to Zig in the past and returned to Zig for help with this crisis. Kevin, Tom, and guests like Andy Andrews brought me hope and the courage to overcome my fear. They also restored my faith in God which I had lost. I learned on this podcast that God helps those who help themselves. The rut I was in seemed impossible to get out of but I devoted myself to listening to the podcast 2 hours a day during my morning walk. It has worked fantastically. The tools I learned, the motivation I received, and all in the spirit of God has renewed my quest to be the best. Thank you.

Best podcast I've found to date!
I had wanted to get into listening to podcasts for a while but had never really been able to sit through one. That changed with the ziglar show. I can't seem to get enough of it and no matter how lousy a day I can listen to an episode and feel better, which is funny cause it doesn't even matter which episode I listen to. I thought I'd be bored with the parenting one(cause I'm not a parent yet) but I still heard a lot that I needed to hear that day. I highly recommend taking a listen. It's my number one priority podcast in a week's time. I can't imagine you'd be disappointed!

My step 1
If all that this act does is help one more person listen to this message, I have succeeded. Everyone involved in this work should know that they are doing a great service for humanity. I have been on a long journey seeking direction; going through trial after trial, reading book after book in effort to gain a little insight to my purpose in life. I started my career in sales and have excelled from day one. I studied my craft, applied what I learned and have been the best at what I do wherever I have worked in sales. However, despite my success and the money earned, I have never been fulfilled by my work. Something has always been missing; something that can't be replaced by money, material things or accolades. On my journey to fill the void, I came across this podcast. I started with listening on my way to work and I must confess that I'm hooked. I don't listen to anything else in my car now simply because there's no song or media that I value more than this message. I can also honestly say that what I have heard has broken me (the old me)... I find myself crying on my way to work and on my way home. I'm not crying because I'm sad, I cry because I'm changing in a profound way and I know that I'm on the path to finding my purpose. Here's what I've learned so far, starting with the most important: 1 - We are here to serve each other. 2 - If you help enough people get what they want, you will eventually get what you want. 3 - The more people you serve, the more successful you will be. 4 - Hustle at the day job while working on the dream job. 5 - Figure out your goal and use it as your direction. 6 - Be where you are celebrated not where you are tolerated. 7 - Never hold back knowledge for personal gain (this was my own). Before I end my review, I want to make sure that I thank Kevin Miller for his role in this podcast. I know the title of the podcast and I know that it's about Zig's message. However, I don't always get to hear Zig's voice. Though I value the guests and have a great respect for Tom's wisdom, one voice is always constant; the voice of Kevin Miller. I aspire to be self employed one day. Please write your book Kevin, I'll be first in line to buy it! To those who listen regularly, please get the message out and start with a review. And to everyone involved with the podcast, THANK YOU! PLEASE keep doing what you are doing; your work is more important that you can imagine.

Getting worse
I love listening to Zig's clips..... BUT, lately there are way too many commercials and in the Dave Ramsey podcast, it was 8 1/2 minutes of intro and commercials before the content even started. The host tells more and more how great his life is or how in demand he is...how is that helpful to the listener?? You've lost your focus!!

Hey Zig team, I absolutely do want to continue to receive your material and encouragement, I am so blessed by your ministry and material! Especially The Ziglar Show podcast. I am however unable to respond to some of your challenges as I don't have the time or means to become Ziglar certified, some day perhaps. Very inspiring!
Just today I created my personalized version of self-talk, based on your templates. I’ve been using affirmations for quite a while during my morning routine, based on a modified program from The Morning Miracle by Hal Elrod (a very inspiring book, if you’ve not read it, you really should). My affirmations would probably seem a bit lame to most people (for example one is “I don’t have to get full” so I don’t over-eat), but they are also very helpful. So I’ve added some of your content to that, and I plan to start the new and improved affirmations tomorrow. Thanks for the podcast too. Really great stuff. Your podcasts are amongst the best. Hey, if it isn't worth 5 Stars, I'm not going to waste my time with it. You guys get 5 Stars. Many thanks for all your help, wisdom and all that Zig! Regards, Bryan

Sincere Thank you for Zero Debt on "Automobile University"
This is simply the best addition to my weekly routine that I have implemented in 2015. It was probably exactly 10 years ago when I purchased a used audio tape (yes tape) version of one of Zig’s books. He made a convincing argument that I should enroll in Automobile University. I simply decided that I was all in. He had earned my respect over the three previous years of research after I saw him in a high-profile speaking event. I decided that if it worked for Zig, I would try it ‘for a month or so’. I have thought about his term of automobile university for several years of living the simple life in Asia when listening to podcasts while riding my bike. If I could explain the podcast in one word I would say, ‘timeless’. If I had three words, I would say ‘contemporary and timeless. At the risk of sounding like an infomercial, my only regret (truly) is that I wish I had discovered the podcast much sooner than February of 2015. I have listened to every podcast since February and several from the archive.

Becoming less content driven
I very much enjoy the podcast; however, recently it has become harder to listen. The podcast is becoming less and less content driven. The intros are way too long the Fred podcast took over 10+ minutes before even entering the actually entering the convo. A normal drive to work is around 30 minutes. Please keep them concise and to around that length.

Shaky Sound Quality
Sad to only give 4 Stars BUT the sound quality is not great. They really need to fix this as I'm sure others are annoyed by this. I've tested it out on several different pieces of audio equipment and it's the same thing on all. I believe the problem is that they have speakers in different parts of the country calling in on different phone sets and so you get different sound levels. Kevin is fairly soft spoken, then Tom pipes in and he's super LOUD and painfully obviously on a speaker phone-Dude lose the speaker phone and join the modern era-get a headset. They often have guest speakers phone in on a different decibel level. Then the antiquated recordings of dear sweet Zig are either really loud or really soft. GREAT Content, just needs some technical tuning.

More Than A Business Podcast!
I discovered this Podcast approximately 2 months ago. It has contributed to a pivotal point in my life. As I seek to improve professionally and personally, Ziglar has managed to effectively integrate and connect spirituality into the message. This is huge for me because this can be an component where I conveniently lose focus. In addition to Zig's personal powerful messages, Kevin and guests do an excellent job at diving in deeper and expounding on the principles. I never would have thought that I would be in the place and mindset that I'm currently in, and I owe it to Ziglar and others who follow a similar business model of serving others. Thank you, -Rick

Good show, needs more Zig though!
I really enjoy this show at times, I'm glad it has been resurrected. A few comments: 1. Needs more Zig, the best shows are ones where a clip is played and we learn from the great one himself and the hosts react 2. The commercials lately have been a bit of a distraction but they aren't horrendous, I understand you have to pay for the show. You should plug more Ziglar related stuff, I found out about ziglarondemand from the podcast and have requested it for my birthday 3. I was a bit shocked to hear you guys allow the "Art of Charm" guys on your show and to hear you guys plug the show. I have attempted to listen to that show, but honestly after a few episodes I couldn't take it anymore and had to unsubscribe. I took a second listen after you plugged and remembered quickly why I u subscribed in the first place. Yes, there are good things on that show and good principles but all the other stuff shouldn't be ignored. It's like saying there are really great articles in Playboy, I'll just ignore the pictures....Zig was a role model for all of us and while I didn't know him personally I feel like I knew him. I personally don't think he would be thrilled to have his name and that show in the same sentence. It doesn't live up to the same standard that Zig represented. Thanks for the show, it is appreciated. All the Best.

I enjoy hearing the clips from Zig, a person I have always looked up to since listening to his CD’s and reading some of his books. The commentary preceding the clips of Zig and the discussion following are always fresh and enlightening, especially the stories from Zig’s son Tom. I highly recommend this podcast, and I also like the unapologetic references to the Bible, which Zig built his life and principles upon. I highly recommend.

This show influenced my life...
The Ziglar Show has opened my life to the world of positivity, inspiration, and spirituality. The wise words from Zig, the commentary from Kevin, and the input from Tom and other guests brings me nothing but joy, wisdom, and hope whenever I get in my car. I’m glad I discovered this at the young age of 20 and look forward to applying the ideology learned in my own life and spreading it with others to help achieve our goals. I recommend not only listening to this on a regular basis but sharing with everyone who you think could benefit from these gracious words of inspiration and hope.

I have been a fan of Zig Ziglar for some time. Like most people I have been through the valleys on my way to the top, and The Ziglar team has helped me through along the way. Kevin and Tom are doing a tremendous job and providing unique perspectives on the Ziglar message. I am very impressed and can't wait for the next episode. Thank you so much for the tremendous value you are providing.

I've been listening to this podcast for several months now as I commute to and from dropping off my boys to school/camps and to work. I'm inspired everyday and my 12 year old boys are also enjoying it. Today, my son said "how is it that this podcast has so many ideas for people of all ages?" That hits home as the message resonates to any and everyone. I also don't mind the promotions. If you don't like the promotions then buy the audio tapes. :-)

Mr.
I found the podcast station 4 months ago and thoroughly enjoy listening to kevin and tom. They give me hope, courage and strength to take risk and overcome fears of failure. The marketing in the show is strictly business, but the heart of the show is the message. Kevin and Tom break down Zig's talks for listeners to get a different perspective. This may sound much to say, but I owe these three men a lot. I started listening to Zig Ziglar through youtube last year. I had just finished graduate school, but do to tragic and unfortunate events I had no motivation or hope to do much of anything. I started listening to Zig and I was blown away. I felt even though his presentations were about business I was able to internalize them. I went on to land my first sales position a month later with the help of Zig's talks. I currently suffer from many health problems and financial difficulty, but I was reminded when I listened to the recent talk on hope that I must do the right thing no matter what the outcome is to be prosperous and successful. I recommend this podcast to anyone.

- How To Ditch The Anxiety of FOMO & Embrace The Peace Of JOMO | 2 - Will ColeIn today’s world where you can get alerted every second about something new, FOMO, or the fear of missing out, is something causing anxiety amongst the culture. Fear of missing out on the news because you want to be in the know, fear of missing out on a social media post or the next new show or episode on Netflix, or a new podcast posting and on and on. We want to belong, we want to be in the know, and we might miss out on something beneficial for us It’s a real thing. I’m back with Dr Will Cole, renowned Functional Medicine expert and celebrated health coach to actress Gwyneth Paltrow. His new book is called Gut Feelings: Healing the Shame-Fueled Relationship Between What You Eat and How You Feel, which was the topic of our first talk together. This is my Values & Habits episode where we walk through the key areas of life fulfillment so see how Will structures his personal life for success. It's in the category of mental health where Will brings up FOMO and ascribes to JOMO, the JOY of missing out. I'll let you hear how he breaks it down, but it is a worthy paradigm shift and something he puts great value in. In other categories, Will shares his spirituality is the lens from which he sees the world through. He's pretty introverted so is very intentional about nurturing relationships. He follows intermittent fasting, which he got flack for from a talk with Gwyneth Paltrow recently, you can hear us unpack it further. He has a weakness for organic peanut butter and Zevia soda. We end with Will sharing his love of history and how he gets lost in it for personal joy. You can ask him anything about the Mayflower and he’ll fill you in…Find Dr Will Cole at…drwillcole.com Go to Zocdoc.com/KEVIN and download the Zocdoc app for FREE. - Why Your Mental State Is Sabotaging Your Fitness & How To Trust Your Gut Again | 1 - Will ColeI just want an easy, step-by-step formula to look, feel, and perform great; Eat whole and healthy foods, exercise, and get good sleep. It should be that simple. And yet it’s not and many of you know it, as you do these things and you are not experiencing the level of health and wellness you desire. Our mental health can sabotage our efforts, and I’m not talking anything severely acute. I am open about my own struggles with anxiety, and am more and more aware how it negatively affects me, especially my gut. You’ve likely heard about the brain/gut connection, but I find few people who really give much attention to this. How can you trust your gut, that intuitive feeling, if your gut is a boiling cauldron of a mess? And most of us have a compromised gut. My guest today is Dr Will Cole. I became aware of Dr Cole through Gwyneth Paltrow, as he is her doctor and a primary provider in her Goop wellness and lifestyle brand and company. If you remember, I had Terry Real on the show months back, he is Gwyneth’s therapist and relationship expert, also part of the Goop company. Will has become the health and wellness resource for a lot of celebrities, I see his instagram showcasing him working with Leann Rimes and Drew Barrymore, but I’ve paid attention and he’s really got the chops and I respect his work a lot. He has a new book that as you’ll hear, he says is unlike anything he’s ever written. It’s called Gut Feelings: Healing the Shame-Fueled Relationship Between What You Eat and How You Feel, and it gets more into the philosophy of our wellness than just clinical, prescriptive aspects. Which to me is the foundation. Your health and wellness will ultimately be a result of your own philosophy on health and wellness. Will actually coined the term, “Shameflammation”, which I encourage you to listen into. I find that shame is a reality with most men, and one they are ignorant of and prone to avoid even looking into. You’re going to hear some paradigm shifting information here on your health and wellness. June 15-16 of 2023 I’ll be in Dallas to attend and speak at the Ziglar coach summit. - Self Helpful with Kevin Miller May 26 · 1h 1m How To Speed Up Your Metabolism | Functional FridayMore than two-thirds of Americans are overweight or actually obese. My guest has coached and trained over 20,000 people and says around 75% of those people just need to get on a healthy eating and exercise routine and stick to it. But for the rest, they likely have a metabolic issue and unless corrected, the weight will not come off and stay off. Angelo Poli founded Metpro where he and his team specialize in this area by utilizing an algorithm based transformation engine. Angelo and Metpro work with regular folks like us, but he’s well known for working with high-profile clientele that range from Olympic Athletes, NFL MVPs, physique models, and business leaders. I had worked with Angelo and his team for quite a while so in this episode I introduced him and his research to Randy James, Medical Doctor, Functional Medicine expert and my Functional Friday co-host. As you’ll hear they get into the nuances of why we are having metabolic problems, how to figure out who does, and what to do about it. You’ll hear my story in this episode as well, as I’m one who had really slowed my metabolism down. For some of you who have trouble losing weight this could be revolutionary, as it was for me. You can take the info and apply it to yourself immediately, as this is not an ad for Metpro. But if you want to check them out, go to http://metpro.co/ziglar and you can take their assessment and speak with a coach on their team for no cost or commitment. - Lifestyle Design & How To Orient Your World To Be At Your Best | 4 - Lessons From Andre Sólo w/ Kevin MillerThe self-help industry is guilty of telling people they are limitless and perpetuating the concept that you can do and be anything. It’s a well meaning concept to try and help people see they are capable of more, which I agree with, but the sentiment is often a great disservice. Sure, you can go do anything and everything, but you won’t do many of those things well. You are designed for some specific things. The great news is they will fit your innate desires and abilities. Imagine taking all the animals in Africa and dumping them on the open savannah. How will they fare? The monkeys and crocodiles and hippos and pythons and parrots will soon die. Or dump them all into the trees. How will the elephants and lions and gazelles do? You get the point. Yet we as humans are expected to just be ok in all the normal structures of our environment. It doesn’t work, and most all of us spend a lot of our days in environments and circumstances that are greatly limiting us and don’t cater to our unique makeup. This is my wrap up on my series with Andre Sólo and the message in his book, "Sensitive: The Hidden Power of the Highly Sensitive Person in a Loud, Fast, Too-Much World." Some of you are HSPs, as I’ve realized I am. But all of you have sensitivities. All of you. And chances are you are blind to them or are just trying to grit your teeth and plow through your life. You can. But you won’t be at your best. You’ll be doing yourself a disservice. Further, you’ll be limiting the service you can bring to others. Walk with me a minute in looking at how to better curate and design your world for your success. June 15-16 of 2023 I’ll be in Dallas to attend and speak at the Ziglar coach summit. - How To Manage & Leverage Your Sensitive Strengths | 3 Discussing Andre Sólo with Renée MarinoWe've been unpacking issues of sensitivity. I want to again highlight that the only people who do not have sensitivities are psychopaths. So if you are not a psychopath, this show is for you. You do have some sensitivities and if you are unaware and if you don't work to manage them, they will erode you, like termites. The point here is not being a victim. Not being fragile. It's about being self-aware of your unique propensities so you can manage and leverage them. This is part 3 on the message from Andre Sólo in his new book, "Sensitive: The Hidden Power of the Highly Sensitive Person in a Loud, Fast, Too-Much World." Andre is the force behind Sensitive Refuge (sensitiverefuge.com), the world’s largest website for sensitive people. In this show I invited Broadway and big screen star Renée Marino to join me and discuss this topic. Because, right after posting my first episode with Andre, Renée texted me saying, “I'm Listening to your podcast about HSP... man.. this is me 100%!!!!” I had no idea. This episode is us unpacking our realizations of not just being sensitive, but in our case, tipping over into being HSPs, highly sensitive people. But again, this isn't a handicap, unless it goes unchecked. It can be a superpower if properly leveraged. Again though, you have sensitivities, and I believe you'll hear in this episode how you can better manage them to be more at peace and get more, valuable productivity out of yourself and in the areas you are more attune to in your sensitivities. June 15-16 of 2023 I’ll be in Dallas to attend and speak at the Ziglar coach summit. If you are looking to influence people for the better, professionally or personally, I invite you to join us. - Calming Lifestyle Habits For Sensitive People | 2 Andre Sólo Q&AIn this episode I want sensitive people to hear how an HSP…highly sensitive person…curates their life to find more peace and wholeness. I was highly interested in this, as I’m new to understanding, I’m an HSP, and I’m working to reorient my life, with grace, to help me be more at peace, and from this, be more at peace with others and the world around me. I’m back with Andre Sólo, the force behind Sensitive Refuge, the world’s largest website for sensitive people, and the co-author of "Sensitive: The Hidden Power of the Highly Sensitive Person in a Loud, Fast, Too-Much World." Andre is an author, researcher, and speaker, and a recognized expert and passionate advocate for sensitive people. Here we walk through his Values & Habits and as you’ll hear, most are configured to support Andre’s sensitivities. Remember from our first talk together in the May 17 episode, Sensitive does not mean fragile, or delicate. Sensitive means; quick to detect or respond to slight changes, signals, or influences. And that means externally and internally. Spiritually Andre finds more sensitive people crave meaning from life and may be more prone to pursuits of spirituality. Similarly, they seek out deep, meaningful relationships, and Andre attests to this for himself. And while we didn't discuss it, I'm betting more sensitive people have fewer, but deeper relationships than the norm. I'll have to ask him about that. Regarding health and wellness Andre said he doesn't live up to his own values here, but seeks out Whole Foods and practices yoga. He admits he's an emotional eater. Regarding mental health he of course guards against overstimulation. This is a big aspect I'm getting from this topic, as I've always struggled with overstimulation but just gritted my teeth and figured it's my problem. While I'm not taking the concept to opt out of everything, I am more in mind to budget how much and giving myself recovery time. This and more in the episode. June 15-16 of 2023 I’ll be in Dallas to attend and speak at the Ziglar coach summit. If you are looking to influence people for the better, professionally or personally, I invite you to join us. - Healing Serious Gut & Digestive Problems | Functional FridayAdi Arezzini was 23 years old and as you’ll hear, bloated, constipated, and only going to the bathroom once per week. This is critical digestive illness. She started researching the colon and herbs and from it found healing agents in tea, from which she started a business, Teami Blends which is sold online and also across the country in stores like Target. But this isn’t an ad for Teami Blends and it is of course not a stand alone magic bullet. Adi made other significant lifestyle changes which led her away from that harsh reality to more optimal health. I’m joined by my Functional Friday co-host, Randy James, Medical Doctor and Functional Medicine expert, and we asked Adi about her personal health journey, the benefits of tea, and much more. In the latter part of the conversation I asked her and she provided, her top three list of what causes and helps alleviate digestive problems which may be the greatest benefit you get from this episode. Adi is offering us 20% off all her products at teamiblends.com when you use code TRUELIFE. Again, this isn’t an ad, but of interest to us. Of note, Randy is a complete tea snob and buys high end, loose leaf tea…probably consuming 5 or 6 mugs a day. After a decade of friendship, I finally wanted to test reducing my coffee intake, and started trying tea. Initially I only liked black tea, but have now developed a broader pallet. I still adore coffee but find it bothers my gut a bit, so I’m only doing it once or twice a week these days…but drinking a lot of tea. - 4 Keys To Getting As Much Or More Out Of Your Second Half Of Life | 4 - Lessons from Arthur Brooks w/ Kevin MillerMy hope for you in this episode of the Self Helpful podcast, is for those of you nearing midlife, or already past it, to divest yourself of frustration you have from lacking strength in some areas of life you’ve relied on, and find great hope and inspiration and start shifting to a new strength. I’m wrapping up the series with Arthur Brooks and the message in his book, From Strength to Strength: Finding Success, Happiness, and Deep Purpose in the Second Half of Life. It was a gift to talk with Arthur, then also have a discussion on the Strength To Strength message with his colleague at Harvard, Robert Waldinger. These guys are some of the top researchers on happiness and their research is profound and paradigm shifting. In this episode I give four highlights from the three episodes that I’m pondering and focused on for my own life and discussing with my friends and peers. June 15-16 of 2023 I’ll be in Dallas to attend and speak at the Ziglar coach summit. If you are looking to influence people for the better, professionally or personally, I invite you to join us. - Self Helpful with Kevin Miller May 17 · 1h 23m Highly Sensitive People & How To Flourish In An Overwhelming World | 1 Andre SóloHere is my hope for this show…that a lot of you, especially those of you who like me, were unaware of your sensitivities, will find comfort and understanding in areas of your life you struggle. Introvert, extrovert, macho man, whatever you think you are. You’ll find some grace for yourself, and some equipping of how to better manage your life to find more peace and success. Sensitive does not mean fragile, or delicate. Sensitive means; quick to detect or respond to slight changes, signals, or influences. Think of it this way; a military fighter jet is incredibly sensitive to every nuance, detecting the slightest problem or change and alerting the pilot and ground crews. They cost from $60 to $130 million. A tank on the other hand does not require such sensitivity and only costs around $10 million. They both have different, valuable uses. Speaking of the military, the special forces personnel are actually trained to become highly sensitive to everything. This is my preface to informing you that while every human is on the scale of being more or less sensitive to the outside world, and to their own inner world, about 30% of you listening will tip over into being a "highly sensitive person," thought to have an increased or deeper central nervous system sensitivity to physical, emotional, or social stimuli. And friends, the kicker here is that I...am an HSP. I have been all my life, but I've masked it, grit my teeth, and just negatively judged myself for being intolerant. I’m thrilled about this message. My guest to break down the walls on this issue is Andre Sólo, the force behind Sensitive Refuge (sensitiverefuge.com), the world’s largest website for sensitive people, and Andre is the co-author of "Sensitive: The Hidden Power of the Highly Sensitive Person in a Loud, Fast, Too-Much World." I really encourage everyone to listen to this message, as I think you’ll find relevance for yourself, and others in your life. - Why You Want A Great Path More Than The Final Destination | 3 - Discussing Arthur Brooks w/ Robert WaldingerWe live in a world construct based on achievements. It’s what you do that matters. What you’ve done. And we miss the daily, primary engagement of simply…what we are doing. I recently hiked four, thirteen thousand foot peaks in one day with a group of guys. I honestly don’t remember much about the peaks themselves. We’d stop, look around, grab a drink or bite to eat and adjust our packs…then move on. What we remember is the mountain goat that came up to us along the way. The clouds boiling up a mountain pass while we sat in a saddle of the mountain. The dip in a lake above tree line that was the coldest thing I’ve ever immersed myself in. Then tailgating at the end with food and drinks to recount it all. It was the journey we most enjoyed. Getting to the top is often a bit anticlimactic. This is what my guest brought to light in this episode when he cited that his focus in the second half of life has moved from, “I want to get to this place, to, I want to be on this path.”So simple and so profound. This is part 3 of my series on Arthur Brooks and his new book, From Strength to Strength: Finding Success, Happiness, and Deep Purpose in the Second Half of Life. For this discussion I brought on a co host who not only knows the message well, but is colleagues with Arthur. Arthur actually cites him in his book. It’s Robert Waldinger who I did a series on in January of 2023. Bob is a professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and director of the Harvard Study of Adult Development at Massachusetts General Hospital. His TED titled, “What makes a good life?” has over 43 million views and his book that culminates the project is, The Good Life: Lessons from the World's Longest Scientific Study of Happiness. I experience Bob as an incredibly insightful person, an expert in the area of happiness and fulfillment, and just a complete joy of a human. It was great to talk with him again, but the insight you’re about to hear I feel is…life changing. June 15-16 of 2023 I’ll be in Dallas to attend and speak at the Ziglar coach summit. - How To Transcend The Onslaught of Negativity In Our Culture | Functional FridayWithout making a case that there is more negativity in our world today than ever, it’s simply more easily delivered to us through our constant devices. The media want our attention and if it bleeds it leads. Negativity gets more views. And on social media, I don’t know the exact stats, but I tend to see more sharing of and discussions around criticism and debate, than joy and peace. We can’t get rid of it either, all the negativity is impossible to avoid. Not long ago we went through a covid pandemic, high racial tensions, and presidential campaigns and scandals that really upped all the volatility, and just about everyone in the country, if not the planet, is citing more anxiety, uncertainty, confusion and fear than ever. We can’t live in a bubble or a cave, so we just have to learn to deal with it. This is my Functional Friday episode and I’m with my Functional Friday co-host, Randy James, Medical Doctor and Functional Medicine expert, and we talk about what he is seeing with patients in his clinic and how very real this issue is, and how we can minimize it...but in truth, again, the bigger issue is combating it. Interestingly what we landed on was seeking ways to lift ourselves emotionally. I think you’ll find some tangible actions you can take from this show. June 15-16 of 2023 I’ll be in Dallas to attend and speak at the Ziglar coach summit. If you are looking to influence people for the better, professionally or personally, I invite you to join us. - Authentic Drive & How To Know What You Really Want | Lessons With KevinI’ve had three guests on this show recently who really have me grappling with the realities of what we as humans say and think we want, and what our behavior proves we want. What you’re about to hear may shock you and make you take a step back, as it did me. I usually give you the punchline of the episode right here in the beginning, but in this case I’m not going to…just hold tight a moment and I’ll unpack it. But you and I, right now, think we want to be happy, authentic, and healthy. But our actions show that in each case, we actually want something else…more. And it’s not the same things. For each of those three issues, there is a counterfeit desire that is winning out. And to realize it is to get at the issue of significant cognitive dissonance we live in, and are suffering from. Getting aware, I believe, can give us a new lease on life. And further, if you are in business and involved with trying to offer happiness, authenticity and health to anyone, you’re about to find out what your real competition is. Come ponder and explore with me… June 15-16 of 2023 I’ll be in Dallas to attend and speak at the Ziglar coach summit. - Your Work & Why To Remember Your Why Over Your What | 2 - Arthur Brooks Q&AHow many times have you been asked, “So, what do you do?” Meaning, what work do you do. A primary way we establish hierarchy in our culture. But have you ever had anyone follow and ask why you do what you do? Have you asked yourself recently? And the answer must go deeper than just for the money. If there is no meaning for you in your work beyond money, then ask what that money is for? It’s supporting something you care about, even if it’s merely food and shelter. This was brought back to my attention by Arthur Brooks who is back with me to walk and talk through his personal Values & Habits. When I asked him about his values regarding his career he spoke to his efforts to stay aware of the why of what he does as opposed to just the what. Arthur is a Harvard Professor, a columnist at The Atlantic, ridiculously in demand speaker, and author of 12 books, the most recent being the focus of my series with him, From Strength to Strength: Finding Success, Happiness, and Deep Purpose in the Second Half of Life. You’ll find that Arthur is a very intentional person and deeply considers all areas of his life. Spiritually he seeks where he can lift the world and not just himself. In his pursuit of health I found it interesting that he cited he’s not necessarily happy to be exercising, but it helps him be less unhappy. Interesting way to look at it. Regarding money, as his stage of life he’s eager to simplify the stuff he owns, and puts his focus on binging experiences. It’s quite an interesting journey through one of our cultures leading experts on happiness. June 15-16 of 2023 I’ll be in Dallas to attend and speak at the Ziglar coach summit. - The Second & Better Half Of Life & How To Transition From Innovation To Wisdom | 1 Arthur BrooksMany of you listening to this show are at or nearing the midpoint of life. The rest of you will be there before you know it. This show is geared to blow away a myth and massive problem we live within our culture. We churn and grind away to achieve and provide...and as we age we just try to buckle down and keep it going as long as we can, or as long as we feel we have to. This is a message to say..."Whoa! Stop! You've totally got it wrong! You don't want to keep doing what you've been doing. Rather you want to evolve, graduate if you will, to a new and well earned second half of life. One where you move from learning and innovating and amassing, to...leveraging all you've learned. The former leads to burnout and grave dissatisfaction, the latter to the greatest joy and fulfillment life has to offer. My guest, researcher and expert on this topic is Arthur Brooks. Arthur went from being a professional French horn, to earning degrees online that landed him as a think tank president amongst Ivy League scholars, which you'll hear was an embarrassment to him for a while, to today being...OK, this is long...the William Henry Bloomberg Professor of the Practice of Public Leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School, and Professor of Management Practice at the Harvard Business School, where he teaches courses on leadership, happiness, and social entrepreneurship. He is also a columnist at The Atlantic, where he writes the popular weekly “How to Build a Life” column. Brooks is the author of 12 books, including the 2022 #1 New York Times bestseller From Strength to Strength: Finding Success, Happiness, and Deep Purpose in the Second Half of Life, which is my focus for this series. A recent Harvard Magazine article labeled Arthur as, "The Happiness Revolutionary." Somehow between his content and his personality Arthur has become a massively influential guy who is now called on and cited by people such as Oprah, the Dalai Lama and The White House. You're about to hear him school us in how our first half of life is spent leveraging fluid knowledge, and that our brain is created for this. But around the midpoint of our life, our brain has less ability for fluid knowledge and transitions to great ability in crystallized knowledge. If you are aware of and embrace this, you will find great peace and continue progress instead of feeling you are in a race for time to keep up the initiatives and pace from the first half of life. - Self Helpful with Kevin Miller May 5 · 52m How To Embrace The Athlete Inside You For Sustaining Fitness | Functional FridayI staunchly believe perception is everything, and regarding our health and wellness and concerning the concept of exercise, there is a paradigm shift we can enact with ourselves that works wonders. The word exercise does not create positive feelings in most people. It sounds like a chore. The point is movement and we have to “exercise” because for most of us, our daily life does not require much of any utilization of our lungs and muscles and joints. But I want you to consider the term…athlete, and why you may want to strive to adopt it. This is our Functional Friday episode where we tend to our physical and mental capacity to support us in our desired goals and achievements. Here is my setup; If you join a painting class, you might share with others that you paint. But if you do it daily or weekly and keep it up for years and get proficient, when do you refer to yourself as an artist? You don’t have to do it for money to be an artist. The literal word artist is defined as, a person who produces paintings or drawings as a profession or hobby. There you go. If you produce paintings as a hobby, you are an artist. My home contains many pieces of furniture I made out of raw aspens on our land and when people see it, they often say, “I didn’t know you were an artist!” So with exercise. The definition is, a person who is proficient in sports and other forms of physical exercise. I find a lot of people who engage daily in some fitness activity call themselves athletes. And I think it’s great. I was a professional athlete, as a pro cyclist. I got paid. Not much. But today I don’t have pro status or a racing license. But I ride my bike or run almost daily. I do push ups, or dips or pull ups most days. I call myself an athlete. It’s not what I do, it’s another role I’ve embraced. If you engage in a physical activity and become proficient in it…proficient, defined as competent in doing something, you can adopt the label of athlete. It’s not a chore you try to do, it’s a role you fulfill. Regarding this idea, I asked our audience on Facebook this question, “Do you think of yourself as athletic?” Over 80 comments came in that brought up some interesting issues. I truly hope it inspires you to further embrace your athletic self and from that, your long term fitness and wellness. - The Medical & Financial Benefit Of Friendships | 4 Lessons from Laura Tremaine with Kevin Miller & FriendsI’m wrapping up my series on Laura Tremaine, host of the 10 Things To Tell You podcast and author of The Life Council: 10 Friends Every Woman Needs. Our focus is on friendships, but vastly elevating them from mere peripheral benefits, “if we have time.” A point I’m expounding on in this series is we don’t need friendships to survive. We need them to thrive. So if thriving is your goal, this is a vital topic. Normally on this part four episode, I briefly discuss lessons I’m learning or grappling with from the series we’ve done. Here, I take a detour. Instead of my solo commentary, I brought two dear friends into the studio with me to talk candidly about how we’d been doing friendships, the value we had been receiving, and…how we could do them better. Main focal points that surfaced were the need to protect and enhance friendships, just like we do our health and money. My friends and co-hosts are…two guys at the top of their field in just those areas, health and money. Randy James. Who you hear often as my co-host on the Functional Friday episodes. Randy is a medical doctor and functional medicine expert. People pay him out of pocket to get to the root issues of their problems and not simply prescribe a medication to a symptom. Randy and I have lived in the same town and been friends for over a decade, growing our kids together, adventuring together, and we partnered together in a business six years ago and have shared offices ever since. Some weeks we are together 5 days in a row, sharing lunch on the back deck of the office. Find him at truelifemedicine.com. My other dear friend featured in this episode is Patrick Johnson. Randy and I met Patrick together four or five years ago and found a kindred spirit in health and wellness, adventuring, family, and spiritually. Patrick is a personal, fiduciary financial counselor who works with very high net worth individuals. But Patrick goes way beyond that. He’s become a unicorn in his profession because he goes deep with clients into maximizing the overall wealth of their life, no different than Randy. Or me. Patrick was a professional river and mountain guide; seminarian; organic farmer, and he’s an author. He leads a large group of men in Colorado on epic adventures. You can find him at WellthPartner.com. We all spend a lot of time together. We live within a two mile radius of each other. We go on big adventures together. So coming together to discuss the topic of friendships just felt too legitimate to me. You’re about to hear a different start to an episode, as again, we are literally sitting side by side in my studio together, and we start off sharing a beverage together, just as we do when tailgating in the mountains after a big adventure. Props to Patrick for this tradition. He knows how to instigate inspiring environments. June 15-16 of 2023 I’ll be in Dallas to attend and speak at the Ziglar coach summit. - Finding Purpose Amidst A Broken & Toxic Home | Drive With Ben HardyFriends, when I first started writing my new book, What Drives You, I sat down with some influential people to get their stories. I wanted to know what took them from, wherever they started, to realize the significant achievements that landed them on my show. Dr Benjamin Hardy is a favorite guest of mine, he's a prolific writer of best-selling non-fiction in the self-help space because he's a great writer, of great research. His books, Willpower Doesn't Work and Personality Isn't Permanent are foundational messages I come back to time and time again. Not long after I signed my book deal, I had Ben on my podcast, which was called The Ziglar Show at the time. He had shared a tidbit of personal story that grabbed my attention...so I brought him on to dig in. What he shared violated much of what I'd previously thought about drive and was a great depiction of what I'd learned and was writing in my book. Ultimately the story here is what I used as the lead off story in chapter one of my new book, What Drives You, which is just now coming out. Ben's story is an incredible depiction of a primary myth I bust, of some people being driven and some people not. Even some having more drive than others. It's just not true. Listen in to hear more. - How To Accumulate Valuable Relationships | 3 Discussing Laura Tremaine with Brianna Brown KeenThere are two options for gaining the valuable relationships you want and need to have a rich, fulfilling existence. Before I tell you though, there is a foundational assumption that must be met regardless, and we actually didn’t address it in this episode, so I want to cover it here. You must have exposure. I find many people who lack friendships also don’t get much exposure to people, and especially new people. I won’t belabor this but I’ve found the absolute number one way to achieve this is get in groups of kindred spirits. Take an interest you have and get around other people with that same interest. And coworkers may not fit. Working at the same place is not the same interest. Neither is family for that matter. I’m talking to literally know what you are interested in, curious about, inspired by, and find other people who are as well. After that…the two options for accumulating valuable relationships are either instigating them, or, making friends with an instigator. This is Part 3 of my discussion on Laura Tremaine host of the 10 Things To Tell You podcast and author of her most recent book, The Life Council: 10 Friends Every Woman Needs. My focus is on the friends everyone needs, women and men. To round out our discussion I invited Brianna Brown Keen on to co-host the discussion. Brianna Brown Keen is an accomplished actress, appearing in more than 20 feature films and 30 television shows. Along with being a present day, working actress, Brianna has produced an initiative and book called Manifesting Your Mission where she guides entrepreneurs, including a lot of people in show business, in making true progress toward your goals. Brianna is a relationship instigator, and we talk about what this looks like. But if you hear Brianna and feel you are not a fit for being an instigator, then I want you to hear your focus is to befriend…an instigator. Find a Brianna in your life, even if it’s as a paid part of a community or mastermind as Brianna leads. June 15-16 of 2023 I’ll be in Dallas to attend and speak at the Ziglar coach summit.
