Entertaining, but a the hosts are not qualified to comment on law and crime
Two armchair politicians repeating fake news liberal media, obviously they’ve never dealt with offenders and the system. Actually deal with crime and criminals then maybe you’re qualified to talk about it.

Hilarious, Nostalgic, and Informative
These two make heading back to the 90s fancy. It’s great to relive classic Law & Order episodes with Enn and Matt’s unmatched wit, but also to get the true crime background that each episode is modeled after. If you love true crime and want to learn and laugh, this is the podcast you need!

So addictive!
I’m obsessed already! Such an interesting idea of discussing the episode of L&O and then going over the real life events that inspired it! Matt and Enn's funny banter and pop culture references are a great contrast for the subject matter while not taking away from it, this will definitely be a constant listen for me can’t wait to hear more!

Concept and Chemistry
Two important components of an intriguing podcast and these two nailed it. 2020 has been bizarre and difficult, but also has forced many of us to evaluate and find perspective. What an interesting time to look back at how crime drama was portrayed in the 90s, and whether you agree with their personal stances or not, Matt and Enn are entertaining, straightforward, and just a joy to listen to. They have collaborated before and it keeps getting better. Highly recommended.

- Canterbury Tales RealnessHey y'all! One more Winter Holiday Break and we will be back on Jan 5th to continue our season into 2023 with you folks! <3
This Week on Law and Order Season 5, E08 Virtue, we get powerful performances but a dangerous narrative. Enn takes us through the red herrings and navigates the multiple plot jumps with grace, and then prepare for the true story that this episode was based on. Anita Hill made sexual harassment allegations against Clarence Thomas in the early 90s, and was made a target for public harassment and jest by the media. Thomas would join the Supreme Court, and Anita has since been a voice, advocate and keep player in social change and support for survivors and victims - do you remember this landmark trial? - Obsessed with my CropsThis week we dive into S05 E07 of Law and Order, Precious. Matt recaps the episode which features a couple of horse cops, a red herring and a few strange character choices- but the acting by the lead suspect, was compelling to say the least. Then, Enn tells us one of the horrific true stories that this episode was based on - take a deep breath folks it's not an easy one. Marybeth Tinning is known for having multiple children pass away from variety of ailments, but was there more to the story then originally met the eye? From the Episode: Here are some of the Instagram Accounts for support if you or someone you know are living with infant/child loss and would like support, resources or ways to help <3 @eachandeveryheart @hopeagaincollective @Thecooperproject141 @Mollybearsorg Support the show0 comments0
- Ripped From The Headlines Dec 8 · 1h 48m Co-Star to the WindSo Happy to be back with you all, and we are more thankful than ever for all of your support! This week Enn recaps....what could be the most offensive episode yet? S05 E06, Competence - buckle up. This episode was inspired by the murder of Edmund Perry by Police Officer Lee Van Houten, which we covered in Season 1 Episode 8 Marshmallow Tolerance Level. Since we've covered this case Matt tells one of the cases that got him interested in true crime; The story of Elizabeth Diane Downs, the murder of Cheryl Downs and the story of Becky Babcock. **we did not record a content warning; In this episode the topics of racial violence and child death are discussed. From the Episode: Need something light-hearted? This is the song/video we spoke about at about 21:30 My Boba Manifesto Support the show0 comments0
- Not a Member of the People ClubHey Listeners! We will be taking a short Autumn Holiday Break returning in 3 weeks on December 8th! In this season of gratitude, we are sincerely grateful to all of you. This show is completely independent and self-funded and we remain motivated and passionate largely because of all of your support and engagement! THANK YOU! This week be prepared to go down the rabbit hole with us as Matt recaps S05 E05 of Law and Order: White Rabbit! It was a pretty insane episode between hidden identities, tearful monologues, and an Animorph?! The listen as Enn tells us the true story that this episode Ripped from the Headlines - the story of Sara Jane Olson is a former member of the Symbionese Liberation Army. Had you ever heard of this story, and how do you think justice should have been served? Support the show0 comments0
- 14yr Old Supernatural FanfictionThis week is another big one folks! Enn takes us through the insanely dramatic Family Values (S05 E04 of Law & Order) guest starring a teenage Sarah Paulson! While this episode had multiple sources it drew from, most prominent was the story of Mary Jo Buttafuoco who was shot by Amy Fisher on her doorstep and survived! The press dubbed her the “ Long Island Lolita ” and while Amy and Joey are often the focus of this saga (just how they like it,) the real victims/survivors are the ones left behind to pick up the pieces - Mary Jo and her children. - Tug at your Tear DuctsThis week Matt recaps the very racially insensitive Episode 3 of Law and Order's 5th season titled: Blue Bamboo...OK? The shining bright light of this mess is guest star Laura Linney!! This episode was based on who would be referred to as "Japanese Comfort Women," a terribly oppressive, abusive and inhumane practice that is unfortunately widely unknown to so many of us. Enn also tells us the story of one such woman, Kim Hak-Sun, whose testimony illuminated this dark world to folks, like us, who never knew these of these horrors faced by thousands. - Ha ha. Ha ha? …Ha ha.This week we dive right into Coma, Episode 2 of our fifth Law and Order Season. Enn takes us through this sort of snooze of an episode but don't worry this episode has everything from gourmet ducks to Harriet the Spy! Afterwards Matt tells us about the tragic deaths within the Karlsen family. Levi and Katherine Karlsen both have tragic stories to tell, but could their deaths be connected? Listen to the end to find out the shocking conclusion! Support the show0 comments0
- The Fainting NurseWeeeee're Baaaaaa-aaaaack! Can you believe it's season 5 already? We sincerely cannot and we'd love to take our show to the next level, and bring you even more content (we have ideas folks!) so if you haven't already, please rate, subscribe and leave us a review. I know everyone asks for it, and it's almost background noise, but it will help us immensely and it costs you nothing ;) Thanks for continuing to hang out with us every week! <3 Season Five's premiere episode Second Opinion introduces Jack McCoy (I will miss Stone!) and Matt has all sorts of feelings about this wild ride of an episode! Afterwards Enn explains the mysterious death of Gloria Ramirez under the most unusual of circumstances. It's important to remember that while the "case" may be full of intrigue, Gloria was a woman who lived and walked on this earth and who loved & was loved by many - What do you think happened to this warm spirit? - Ripped From The Headlines Sep 29 · 1h 34m An Anna Delvey ExplorationIt's our Season Finale!! Because we took a long mid-season break, we are simply taking 2 weeks off recording and will return with the Season 5 Premiere on The Aug 20th! This week Enn recaps the tepid Season 4 finale of Law and Order: Old Friends. Hey at least we get Allison Janney in a starring role! Since this episode had no Inso, Matt tells the story of Michael and Dalia Dippolito. Much of this case is caught on video or audio recording, and be prepared for twists and turns that you will never see coming. What are your thoughts about the unique circumstances of this story? Support the show0 comments0
- The Kris Jenner of the SituationPrepare to hit the courts this week (is that tennis lingo? no?) as we watch S04 E21 of Law and Order: Doubles. We get an invisible tennis match, Detecives Bebop and Rocksteady and a wound that defies all explanation. After Matt recaps the episode, we take to the ice with Enn who tell us the true story this episode was ripped from: Tonya Harding & the attack against Nancy Kerrigan. This was a time in the country when the media had even less grace for it's villains and heroes; with what we know now, have your thoughts changed at all on this one? Support the show0 comments0
- Surprise! It's a Patreon Episode! This week we got cursed with technical difficulties and lost the entire episode recording! Argh! So we've decided to give you all one of our Patreon episodes, a review of Enn's favorite movie... Clue! We'll be back with Law & Order next week. Enjoy! Support the show0 comments0
- Synthesized Country VibeThis week's episode is star studded! Camryn Manheim, Christine Baranski, Adina Porter and Danny Tamberelli all appear in S04 E20 of Law and Order, Nurture, and Enn will take us through the bizarre twists and turns in this emotional episode. Afterwards stay with us while Matt tells the unbelievable true story ripped from the headlines for this episode; the story if Katie Beers. Katie was just 9 years old when she disappeared from a local arcade, and when authorities get involved they discover she has very few people on her side at home. What do you think about the outcome of this week's case? Support the show0 comments0
- Doohickeys & ThingamabobsIn episode 19 of Season 4, Sanctuary, Law and Order pulls from multiple sources to concoct an episode that does NO favors to marginalized communities but Kincaid actually provides some valuable insight that aged quite well; We love to see growth! The episode is very reminiscent of The Crown Heights Riots, which we covered in a previous season, but is also based on the story of Rodney King. He may have become a lightning rod for controversy, discourse and social change, but this was never his intent - Enn takes behind the headlines and shines a light on many of the facts of the case that were eclipsed by the narrative at the time, and we discuss the ramifications of how this man's brutal beating was portrayed and "settled." Support the show0 comments0
- Sloppy Joes & Joey DogsBatter Up! That's a sports thing right? This week's episode (S04 E18) is titled Wager and Enn takes us through this baseball-themed episode where we find that there is more to the story than originally meets the eye; Baseball was the name of the game for the show, but the true crime inspo actually involves basketball. Matt covers the murder of James Jordan Sr, whose son Michael Jordan is a legend and has been a household name for decades. Did you know about what happened to James Sr, and is he the only victim in this senseless crime? Support the show0 comments0
- Ripped From The Headlines Aug 18 · 1h 25m Aggressive Blue BlazerIn this weeks wild and crazy episode, S04 E17 of Law and Order Mayhem is covered by Matt. This episode has everything; multiple killers, suspects galore, red herrings, bad acting, shoddy storytelling, and a strong POV from the writers: NYC is craAaAzY and anything could happen! Then Enn tells us ONE of the many major cases this episode was based on - the story of Lorena Bobbit. Most of us who were witness to the coverage of her case got a very one sided narrative, but looking back today with a fresh set of eyes, and ALL of the facts reveals that the press targeted the wrong survivor and overlooked years of torment and abuse. Support the show0 comments0
- Bombarded by NeutronsNext week we will be taking Thursday off and returning Aug 11; Thanks for understanding! <3
This week's episode is a BIG one, so we took some extra time on it; First Enn recaps S04 E16 of Law and Order titled: Big Bang or as they have retitled it "Battle of the Nerds." Get ready for some Bubble Bobble noises and mushroom cosplay in this zany episode. Afterwards Matt covers the huge case this episode was ripped from; The Unabomber. Ted Kaczynski sent over 12 bombs over the course of almost 20 years and not only damaged property and forever disfigured his survivors but he left them with emotional trauma forever. He also murdered Hugh Scrutton, Thomas J. Mosser, and Gilbert Brent Murray; three men who have become an afterthought too often in this tragic tale. Support the show0 comments0
- The Chicest Wind Chimes You’ve Ever SeenSeason 4 Ep 15 of Law and Order really takes a dip in the 90s WB writing pond for this week's edition titled, Kids. Honestly it's one of our favorites in a while! Since this week's episode was not ripped from the headlines Enn tells us the mysterious, hotly debated story of the Sodder Family and the fire that ultimately claimed the lives of 5 of their children...Do you believe that version, or are you one of those holding out hope that they may still be alive out there? Support the show0 comments0
- Malcolm in the Middle MomEpisode 14 of S04 Law and Order is titled Censure, and is very closely related to last week's case covered by Enn - check it out if you haven't already! This week after they recap the episode, Matt chose a case that has always stuck with him - the story of Sam Herr & Juri "Julie" Kibuishi. These students of Orange Coast College, found themselves involved with incredibly dangerous folks hiding in plain sight in 2010. How did you feel when you heard about this case? Support the show0 comments0
- Bulls**t on the ElevatorNote: I promise, at 5:15 Matt’s sound returns to normal (Sorry!) This week Matt recaps an episode that will keep you guessing: S04 E13, Breeder. This episode was not inspired by a true story and Enn had a little whoopsie and covered next week's case: the story of Joy Silverman and Sol Wachtler. Joy was largely demonized by the press despite being the subject of threats, stalking and abuse by her former colleague and employer. Let us know what you think about how this all went down! Support the show0 comments0
- Dracula GirlfriendWe’re asking all of our listeners who haven’t yet to please review us on whatever platform you listen to us on; it’s the best way you can support us and get the word out :] In this week's foray into the world of Law and Order Enn recaps Snatched (S04 E12) and we are treated to a series of red herrings, some majorly teased our hair and a plot so chaotic it's hard to believe it was actually ripped from the headlines! Matt then recaps an equally wild tale that this episode was based on; the alleged 1975 abduction of Samuel Bronfman II. Not only is he the brother of the infamous NXIVM Bronfman sisters, but there is a shocking update to this case that was revealed in 2020; tell us what you think! Support the show0 comments0
- Ripped From The Headlines Jun 30 · 1h 21m The Great Maid NetworkThis week Matt recaps S04 E11, Golden Years, which deals with elder abuse and has a surprise twist ending (and a surprise appearance by Daniel Dae Kim!) Since this case was not ripped from any headlines, Enn selected a case that Reddit users have pointed out, has not gotten the coverage it deserves; the murder of Carly Martinez. This college freshman's life was ended far too soon and her name deserves to be heard; Who do you think has not gotten the proper media attention? Let us know and we may feature them in a future episode! Nicole Albillar was killed in Oxnard, CA, 2 weeks ago today, and according to her friends she "had beautiful energy. Her vibe was unmatched and her silly personality just made you fall in love with her." Everyone should know her name and the name of the victim who was also killed that night; William Tenner. - A Case of the MadonnasWe're back!!! We missed you so much <3 First we catch up with each other and all of the True Crime things we've been watching on our break, and the Enn recaps Episode 10 of Law and Order, S04; The Pursuit of Happiness. This episode perpetuates the negative stereotypes on "Mail Order Brides," so stay tuned as Matt tells the true story of Anastasia Solovieva, which is far more accurate of a representation of who is ACTUALLY in danger in these international relationships. Support the show0 comments0
- Judge Blah-blah-blahHey Headliners! We will be taking a short break after this weeks episode and will return with a brand new episode on Thursday June 23rd! Chat with us on social media in the meantime - If you're looking for more content, check out our Patreon! This week Matt recaps S04 E09 of Law and Order, Born Bad, which has some of his "favorite" things to watch: bad child actors! (Maybe that's where the title actually comes from?!) Since this one wasn't directly inspired by a true crime, Enn tells us the tale of Elizabeth Báthory, also known as The Blood Countess! Was this one of the most prolific female killers of all time or a massive conspiracy and frame job? Support the show0 comments0
- Button Aficionado; A Buttonhead if you Will...This week Enn recaps S04 E08 of Law and Order, American Dream, which has Stone facing off with a particularly crafty defendant. This case was very closely inspired by the Billionaire Boys Club, which was adapted into multiple films including the controversial 2018 flop starring Kevin Spacey. Matt takes us through the complicated scheme and talks about how Joe Hunt ran the Ponzi Scheme and how he was (allegedly) related to the death of Hedayat Eslaminia and the disappearance/murder of Ron Levin. Do you believe Ron Levin was killed, or is he still out there somewhere living it up? Support the show0 comments0
- Horse Girl StuffThis week's extended episode covers a pretty major case. After Matt recaps the very cult-y S04 E07 of Law and Order, Apocrypha, Enn is tasked with researching the episodes infamous inspiration: Charles Manson! Now we probably could do a whole podcast on this one, but Enn gives a full scope of this man's hatred and the murders he incited, including some victims and beliefs that are usually left on the cutting room floor. What are your feelings on "The Family," and the manipulative ways he managed to use others to do his bidding? Support the show0 comments0
