Horror has never been my thing…
These three have made me a believer. Jeremy, Emily, and Ben bring it every week! Between excellent guests, great selections, monthly themes, and everything else under the sun, I’ve never looked at horror under so many progressive lenses thanks to them. This podcast is your one-stop shop for this genre from spoopy to existentially terrifying!

From Spoopy to Existential Terror..:
One of my legit favorite horror podcasts- or just podcasts all around- Progressively Horrified is a blast and another reason to rejoice when Friday rolls around. The vibe is pure hang-out session, with Jeremy, Emily and Ben/Bee as delightful hosts, easily bringing each guest into the fold and approaching horror films from all across the genreverse with good humor, and a relevant modern social lens with which to view it. It’s great stuff- like listening in on the brilliant conversation in another booth at a diner- and no artist or filmmaker is held in so high in regard that their missteps and mistakes cannot be acknowledged and examined. And the hosts are happy to examine their own preconceptions, and the baggage they bring into every movie! There isn’t another podcast that I know that feels as welcoming. I’m just glad I found Progressively Horrified!

Chemistry so good the product should be illegal
Super entertaining and in depth recaps of sometimes great and sometimes terrible horror movies. Moving beyond the blood and guts and jumpscares to talk about the politics that lie underneath the glossy surface. Jeremy, Emily, Ben/Bee and a rotating panel of guests keep the conversation lively and entertaining! Check it out!

Boring
Boring plot recaps, low on insightful commentary.

Gotta tighten it up - pod is (a lot) longer than the movies
Giving you a 5-star cause I love the intentions and the concept but y’all need to figure out how to tighten this up - there is no reason to go over an hour, 80mins at most. Suggest starting with the plot recap —- you don’t need to give us the entire play-by-play. Either assume you’re reviewing for whether people should watch in which case stop spoiling the whole movie OR you’re assuming everyone has seen it in which you should recap just the high/lowlights for the community. Suggest checking out Disaster Girls podcast for example of fun reviews that don’t retell the whole plot and keep it closer to the 60-80min mark.
