Great speaker and well researched
I appreciate the great info to explain why black communities (and other communities can rally in support) need to support each other by frequenting black businesses I order to improve their communities with this support. I look forward to sharing the brands mentioned and looking at shoppeblack.us for more black owned brands.

What the world needs now is Luvvie!!
I just recently found you Luvvie Ajajyi Jones when I was listening to my WW Walk talk! After that I immediately sought out your podcast, Ted talk and everything you do. I purchased professional trouble maker and I am LOVING IT! I love and appreciate your bold faced honesty and the true love that you put into the world. I immediately shared the podcast and plan to buy the book as my “go to” birthday gift for every woman in my life! Bless you Sis for being obedient to your call! God’s continued blessings on you, I hope one day we can get together for some shenanigans! 💜🦋💜🦋

Gabrielle Union is so relatable.....also Go Unafraid with Boz.
I love this episode. Gabby and I vibe on the same frequency. I love her. I agree with all the personality changes black women morph into in order not to be seen threatening to their “white”counterparts. Well we keep pressing on. I love the moderator Luvvie and can totally relate with her as an American-African woman. I’m a new subbie to your podcast and IG. Being authentic with Dr Yaba Blay was mind blowing. Very transparent and encouraging others to embrace their authentic self with room for adaptation to an unusual environment. Loved the discussion on how you had to assimilate from your Nigerian roots to becoming the Nigerian-American woman you are. I totally get it!!! Luvvie you’re the realest. Oh my gosh .... need to meet people like you. Here to also state I wholeheartedly enjoyed the episode with Gina Yashere. I watch Bob loves Abishola and have always wondered how the origins of the show came about. Thanks for setting the record straight on that Gina. What an easy listening episode it was and the energy was palpable. Luvvie don’t leave Gina out at your next hangout. Keep doing great.

Intelligent, hilarious, insightful and encouraging and so much more. Always a must listen
So positive, so empowering, smart and funny. Most guests are interesting and entertaining. I wasn’t fan of the interview with Kimberly Blackwell. She spend the majority of the show bragging about herself, all the panels she’s on, what schools she attended, yada yada yada. We could have Googled all that. I cut the show off early this week.

“God puts people in your life...”
I just listened to my first episode of the Professional Troublemaker” podcast with Nicole Walters, because she told me to, and because I always do what Nicole tells me to do-why? She is one of those people that God put in my life to help encourage me and remind me who I am in Him. Once you realize who those people are, they will continue to help you hear His voice and stop getting caught up in the world’s idea of what life should be. So now, I am going to grab the “Professional Troublemaker” book, because Nicole told me to, and because I can already see this is someone who is changing the world in so many positive and loving ways! Thank you both for your commitment to being a light to follow and for pushing through all the hard days and the hard things. You are both loved and so appreciated!!

Intolerant
Luvvie is completely intolerant of differing views and refuses to engage in civil discourse with opposing sides. She is a race baiter for the liberal left and just stirs the pot as far as race, feminism, and bashing religion. I did not gain any personal insight from listening to or reading to her nonsense.

Reclaim Your Passion & Take Notes
Episode 32 is super loaded and is by far one of my favorite episodes. As soon as Elaine said “if you’re lucky, you get to a point where you can fight back and RECLAIM that little girl, that person you were before the world started putting limitations on the way you dream.” I hit pause and immediately started taking notes ✍🏾How many of us need to reclaim our dreams? How many of us need to unlearn a mentality that made us forget who we were and what we loved? As the episode continued, Elaine shared with Luvvie hard truths that showed her transparency and vulnerability which is so beautiful. For example, leaving toxic relationships and knowing that being a ride or die can really deter you from your dreams. I know this all to well. It is her hope that by sharing her journey, others would “cycle through relationships faster” and that “some things break on purpose and it’s not up to you to put it back together and make it work.” While I could write an entire essay especially on the Harriette Cole & Ebony segment (so good) I simply want to encourage everyone to listen to this episode, it was indeed a Masterclass and a masterpiece. If the gems dropped are applied, one can really begin to see the trajectory of their lives change for the better. Lastly, I love how both Luvvie & Elaine love and cheer for each other and lastly, lastly but certainly not least Amen for Holy Spirit who if you let HIM “will be everything you need.”

I spent my Saturday morning cleaning while listening to Luvvie and Latham and I felt inspired to keep pushing to put the best version of myself into the world. I only came across this podcast a few months ago and have spent my drive to work and downtime catching up on all of Luvvie’s thought provoking words. Stellar as expected
Time is limited so I don’t listen to many podcasts. Well that changes now! I’m subscribed and look forward to each new release of Rants and Randomness. Each one of these has given me something to reflect on for my life. I really love the format Luvvie follows with each one as well beginning with her top of mind R&Rs and then heading into the very frank interviews. Very well done. Entertaining and inspirational. 2/19/19 and I have to update this review. Luvvie has always had a way with words, but as this series progresses, you can hear and feel her skills as a thought-provoking interviewer evolve and shine. You can tell she selects guests whom she truly admires and respects because the discussions they have are revealing, heartfelt, and flow easily like water. Nothing but raves for Rants and Randomness - it’s a nice vitamin for the mind and spirit.

Worth every second!
I’m addicted to Jesus & Jollof, so I decided to binge listen to this podcast over Winter break because I knew nothing about it (wasn’t really into podcasts before Jesus & Jollof). THIS was probably the most productive thing I’ve done for my life this last 6 weeks or so. Every episode gives so much great info in interviews with people that I knew nothing about doing so many ah-maxing things. I am empowered to make moves towards goals that have been sitting in the back of my mind and encouraged to stay the course in the positive things I’m trying to achieve, all while learning so many life lessons every time I tune in. I can’t wait to hear and learn more.

I went down a rabbit hole of listening to every episode available during my work days. I've laughed, I've teared up, I've nodded in agreement, I've become such a fan.

I am in love with the content, the constant talk of connecting our African pride with our African American pride. I have searched all over LA for Nigerian events and jollof. I found an Halloween party super excited. Also thank you for introducing me to Afrobeats, it’s so dope!!! #keepitup

Nothing but love!
This podcast is good for my soul. In the past 30 days I was on a fast from hanging out, social media and the news because I needed a break from it all so I took the time to reset and refocus. During my time off, I listened to all of the Rants and Randomness episodes and honey child you were the mint lemonade that my soul needed...totally refreshing. I love everything about this podcast from the topics to the guests to the rants and of course you Luvvie. Thank you for enlightening conversations and so many things to think about!

This was such a good episode and totally spoke to me. I cut off my locks earlier this year and I am rocking a very short natural. The Best!
I have a number of podcasts in my library. However, I’ve only listened to both of A.Luvvie’s podcasts. This girl is funny, raw, real and super smart and her guests are equally the same. I have learned so much from all of them. I have a favorite guest but I won’t reveal that. :) I listened to the podcasts on my commute to and from work. And now that I am done I don’t know what to do with that time. One day my phone was telling me that an episode wasn’t available for listening, I almost cried because I did not want to listen to music on my way home. Awesomely Luvvie, keep being the inspiration that we all need. To anyone if you haven’t already please download and listen, you will love this!

Whenever I’m listening to R&R or J&J I feel like I’m listening to myself and my best friend having one of our hours long conversations. I have people looking at me like I need to be committed from the random outbursts of laughter or “You better that” that spews from my mouth as I’m walking around in public or sitting next to my husband at home with my headphones in. Thank you for creating these platforms for us to kick it with our best friend who doesn’t know she’s our best friend.

Love Luvvie!!
I am generally not an avid podcast listener. It’s not something that ever truly appealed to me even though I am one of those people who needs to ensure I have something uplifting coming out of my headphones as a complement to my people watching on my train commute every morning. Since this podcast dropped, I literally haven’t missed an episode! I loved Luvvie before this podcast, and I’m sure I will once she has soared on. I appreciate the authenticity that is exuded in every possible way with this podcast. I know that’s THE reason it has kept my attention and why I enjoy it. So much of our daily lives are filled with shenanigans, inequities, and people acting like they’re down for the love all people cause, when they are really not. But, Luvvie and her guests are the exact opposite, and that is gold to me....solid gold! Keep up the great work!! We are holding you down in these DMV streets!

I’m loving my play-cousin’s podcast! I enjoy being introduced to new people as well as learning more about those we’ve already been following (shout out to “Jesus and Jollof”). Luvvie always asks her guests what they’re doing for self-care. My answer? Listening to this podcast. And getting pedicures 😊.

"You don't 'civil' your way to justice." GENIUS.
My kids think I have a problem. When I'm working in my house with my headphones on, all they hear is me shouting "preach" and "mic drop" and "um-hmmmm." They shake their heads at me, but how can someone stay silent when listening to Luvvie's wisdom and insight? She puts my thoughts into words and make me feel validated, powerful, and hopeful. Her last episode is about the difference between kindness and niceness when it comes to protest. "You don't 'civil' your way to justice" is a line that will resonate with me forever. Keep preaching, Luvvie. We are listening and loving!

Lifting as we climb
I was an early buyer of “I’m Judging You,” including multiple copies to give to friends. Now I’m excited to be an early listener of Rants and Randomness. Terrific interview with Eunique Jones! The best part to me was Luvvie showing some sisterly accountability for self-care by asking Eunique what she’s doing to take care of her physical, mental and energy wellness. Eunique had to pause. Great moment of self-awareness and #blackgirlmagic love. The vibe, intellectual nimbleness, humor, content — all DOPE! I will be sharing this podcast with my network. - Teach Them YoungThere are TOO many things that we didn’t learn as young people that we should have. Maybe the adults around us thought we were too young, or maybe the grown-ups in our lives didn’t have the time because they were also blindsided by what they did not know. Regardless, as adults, we've realized the mistakes we have made and how much we didn't know and want the kids we love to know better and do better. In this episode, Luvvie discusses the things she wishes she'd known as a teenager, and how these lessons led her to adapt her second New York Times bestselling book into Rising Troublemaker: A Fear-Fighter Manual for Teens. She shares how you can help give these valuable cheat codes to the teens in your life and how to help get this book in the hands of 5000 young adults. In 1994, she founded Carol’s Daughter, which is lovingly named for her mother. Initially, she started off with a handful of steady customers. Those numbers grew in leaps and bounds as women outside her neighborhood and circle of friends began to take notice. Lisa has been appointed as a member of the National Women’s Business Council, an independent source of advice and policy recommendations to the president, Congress, and the US Small Business Administration, on economic issues that face female business owners. - Answer Your Fear (with Esther Perel)Today on Professional Troublemaker, we're sharing a conversation from Luvvie's book tour in March of 2021. All the people Luvvie chose for this tour are those she considers professional troublemakers in their field. They exude excellence in everything they do, and this episode is a perfect example of that. Luvvie is talking to psychotherapist Esther Perel. Esther is one of today’s most insightful and original voices on modern relationships. She's a bestselling author, TED speaker and host of the hit podcasts Where Should We Begin? and How’s Work? She also has an amazing game that is also called Where Should We Begin? Esther is fluent in nine languages, and she coaches pairs around the world of all types on relationship dynamics. In this conversation, Esther and Luvvie talk about how fear shows up and how it speaks to us, how troublemakers answer fear, success and how it can inspire and potentially intimidate us, and how community makes us stronger. - Make Your Voice Heard (with Stephanie L. Young)This week on Professional Troublemaker, we’re re-airing an encore episode that is extremely timely as we watch the confirmation hearings for Ketanji Brown Jackson, who will hopefully become the 116th Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court and the first Black woman to be appointed and confirmed as a justice. This amazing woman is a nominee because people went to the ballot box in 2020 (often in the face of enormous opposition) and voted to make their voices heard. And with mid-term elections coming up this fall, we need to hear today's podcast conversation again. Luvvie's guest is Stephanie L. Young. Stephanie currently serves as Executive Director at When We All Vote, a nonpartisan voting initiative launched by Michelle Obama. She has years of communication experience in the public and private sectors with organizations such as the Obama White House, Congressional Leadership, NBCUniversal, and BET. During our conversation, we discover what Stephanie’s childhood was like and how she started her career, how she was able to get a job at the Obama White House, and what she's doing now that has traces to what she used to do when she was younger. Part of being a disruptor for the greater good is making sure your voice is heard, and that you do what you can to speak up on behalf of the voiceless, so for us, this interview is as important now as it was when we aired it previously. - Listen to Lead (with Nneka Ogwumike)Leadership is a verb. And choosing to lead by listening and empowering others is a big part of that. Today’s guest Nneka Ogwumike is the definition of a Professional Troublemaker. She’s a force to be reckoned with on and off the court. Nneka is a former Number 1 WNBA draft pick, six-time WNBA All-star, and president of the Women's National Basketball Players Association. She’s passionate about fighting for Black women, athletes, and those whose voices aren't affirmed and has made speaking truth to power a life habit. Nneka also shares the pain she felt when being passed over for the Olympic basketball team. There is a difference between just losing an award and being snubbed. And she was snubbed in this case. - Professional Troublemaker Jun 8 · 1h 4m Push Forward (with Latham Thomas)We’re revisiting another conversation this week on Professional Troublemaker! Luvvie is talking to Latham Thomas - wellness maven to the stars, birth doula, and queen regent of radical self-care. Latham is an incredible storyteller and she lets us in on how the birth of her son catapulted her into her purpose. We learn about birthing as a chemical, transformative experience and how her ancestors showed up on her behalf to guide her through the process. This episode shines a light on the Black maternal health crisis and how racial bias, education, and economic stability all play a role in the staggering statistic of black women dying or experiencing health complications during childbirth. Latham has committed to being a mother to mothers and holding the hands of women - literally and figuratively - as a doula during and after pregnancy. Her view that the birthing process shouldn’t be as scary and difficult as it is for women and birthing people in this country is what fuels her work spotlighting this global crisis. - Say Yes (with Elizabeth Gilbert)On this episode of Professional Troublemaker, Luvvie is in conversation with Elizabeth Gilbert for her Onward Book Club that she holds each month on her Instagram Live. Elizabeth created the Onward Book Club as a way of spotlighting, studying, and celebrating the work of Black female authors, and Luvvie was honored to be her guest in April as Professional Troublemaker: The Fear-Fighter Manual was spotlighted.
