The Best Fashion / Sustainability Podcast
Emily has a gift for conducting interviews. She asks the questions that get right to the good stuff. I never have to fast forward through irrelevant chit chat. My favorite part is when she says, “let’s dive right in.” Thanks for all your work on this immensely enjoyable podcast.

My #1 listen!
This podcast is indispensable to my life! Emily is such a warm, expressive, well-informed presence with a variety of interesting guests from the slow and vintage fashion world, with a highlight on garment worker rights and sustainability. It’s a combo of timely, relevant deep discussions and fun chats about style. The interview format and overall vibe is welcoming and engaging for curious first time listeners to industry veterans. There’s plenty of back catalog, so it’s perfect for binge listening- I’ve repeat listened several times over. I’m constantly finding out about great organizations and people to follow too! Give it a try- one great place to start is with Anna Weldon, which includes great stories about Buffalo Exchange’s early days (Season 4, Episode 13)

Thoughtful + big picture
Pre Loved is such a thoughtful, overarching show looking into parts of the secondhand industry I would have never even thought about! Emily is a great interviewer and speaks to such niche-expert guests. Highly recommend!!

Overall interesting
I really really like this podcast, I like how it makes thrifting more cool and relevant. I do agree that sometimes the person being interviewed is hard to hear and I find some of the influencers to be a bit boring, where the episodes with authors and people who do something other than influence Instagram are much more interesting but that’s probably just personal preference. I’ve recommended this podcast to a ton of people because it’s so interesting.

SISILIA PIRING
Emily was very interruptive towards the guest. I couldn’t listen to her story at all. I am a first time listener, and based on the review from the majority I will listen to one more podcast. I don’t recommend SISILIA PIRING you would just hear so much interruptions even the guest seems annoyed.

audio can be spotty
typically i don’t go out of my way to write negative reviews, but i LOVE this podcast. it’s just sometimes the audio is horrible. for example, sisilia’s episode there were times where i couldn’t hear here. it was annoying

Truly the best style podcast I've found
I've listened to a whole bunch of podcasts on style, fashion, thrifting, sustainable wardrobes and such, and Pre-Loved podcast is, to my mind, by far the very best one. Rather than spending time on a lot of self-promotion, padding or news that is often irrelevant by the time you hear an episode, Emily focuses on getting right to her interviews, asking smart and informed questions, and editing out any clutter. I really appreciate that! The format is consistent, the audio quality is superb, and she treats each guest with enthusiasm and respect. I'll say that I'm not a pre-loved fashion professional (I just resell things through Poshmark and local consignment shops)--I'm just a style obsessive who loves vintage and thrifting! So I'm mostly listening to the podcast for style tips and vintage info, so personally I'd love even more of that and less shop/business talk. But this podcast is so reliable and such a joy that I will continue to listen to every single episode. Maybe if you run out of bloggers and re-sellers you could interview regular folks (like me!) who just work very hard on their eco-conscious personal style?

Great Podcast!
I discovered this podcast while trying to find podcasts to help my vintage business. I have learned so much and it has opened my eyes to pre-loved and how it impacts the environment, sustainable and ethical clothing manufacturing and much more. I’ve been a thrifter since forever even now when I don’t have to economically, I’ll go pre-loved before I hit the box stores. Love learning mode about and following all the guests!

I’ve been secondhand shopping for 7 years now. It all started in Honduras with my family going bankrupt when I was in high school and me having to move into a new country and figure life on my own. I had a passion for fashion but had no access to affording brand new clothes. Second-hand shopping became my outlet for creativity. I love the thrill of treasure hunting, spending hours just browsing and creating outfits in my head and watching them come to life. In college I was always complimented for my outfits and loved responding with a “thank for it at a thrift store!”. As I’m now older and a mother, wife and homemaker I have learned an appreciation not only for fashion but also for stewarding our resources well at home or our earth. I am constantly searching for new ways to make our home a place that welcomes sustainable and ethical purchases and doing it Pre-loved is the best way! I am SO thankful I found the secondhand community and especially this podcast. I had no idea it was out there but now I have someone to share this with! I’ve had different dreams and ideas of what I want to do with my gift for great finds and this podcast is a great tool to push me forward! Thank you so much again!💕💋

I have always been a huge vintage fanatic. It started with my love of my grandmothers clothing and took off from there. In fact, I’ve been collecting vintage for about 3 years now for my own vintage store one day. It’s great that there is now a podcast dedicated to preloved clothing ❤️ The guests are kind, knowledgeable, and great to listen to. I am so excited and can’t wait to hear more!!

Eva has a long history in the fashion industry, having worked for Ralph Lauren and Giorgio Armani, places where she honed her craft for visual merchandising. Even in the early days of her business, Eva was drawn to the world luxury consignment, and creating an experience where people could shop curated secondhand merchandise. In 2005, she opened Consignment Brooklyn which has remained a pillar of Brooklyn ever since. Today, Eva can still be found at Consignment Brooklyn most days, and she also offers personal styling and closet clean-out services. Building on 15 years in the local fashion community as a stylist and fashion reporter, Jahna co-founded Fashion Week MN in 2015 as a vehicle to support the local fashion community. Most recently, she founded her own vintage fashion brand, Rosella Vintage,and is a regular vendor at the Minneapolis Vintage Market, and at other pop-ups around the Twin Cities area. Coming soon – late September — you’ll be able to find Rosella Vintage at a collective vintage shop called Olio Vintage, so you’ll have more opportunities to shop in-person! She’s also planning to launch her own website around this time. In this episode, we talk about the Minneapolis fashion scene she grew up in, being a part of local fashion shows, working as a fashion writer, the start of her vintage shop, and her favorite style moments! When I chat with her, it really brings to light the importance of community in creating a great local vintage scene, and I think that leads us in to the secondhand half of our show really well! For the second half of the show, we’re headed to a Minneapolis Vintage Market event. Now, the market rotates through the Twin Cities every month (super cool!) but this particular market was actually at the Triple-A baseball stadium, home of the St. Paul Saints, a Minneapolis Twins affiliate! This was such a fun environment for a vintage market, and I had an absolute blast strolling around with my concessions and a beer chatting with the local Minneapolis vintage vendors. Carrie opened her first vintage and upcycling boutique in Los Angeles back in 2005, and some of her vintage finds from those days were styled on the seasons of Mad Men – you better believe we chat about that! These days, she runs a vintage boutique called Best Friend Central, and she works at the intersection of mental health and style. When Carrie signed the lease on the space that would be Best Friend Central in the early days of the pandemic lockdown she felt like she had to muster up real courage to do something most considered unthinkable. But she painted her storefront’s door bright yellow (to symbolize hope) and for the last few years she’s been building something really special for her neighborhood, based around positivity and friendship as much as style.
