A must listen for moms
I am so happy I found this podcast! The episodes are on helpful and real topics, and Joys application of the scripture is moving. It takes the pressure off mamas and directs our eyes to where they need to be in order to parent effectively. I never thought I’d be capable of parenting intentionally, but Joys ideas on play are really realistic and helpful, even if this is an area of struggle for you.

Helpful and Empowering
Amber Einstein once said, “Play is the highest form of research.” Joy is helping parents understand the importance of playtime to help transform children’s hearts. She shares creative ideas to help playtime be a spiritual time of connection. She shares her theological wisdom for mommas as well.

- 3 Ways to Raise your Kids with God | 1 Samuel 1-3 | ep. 148On this episode of Playfully Faithful Parenting, I dive into the story of the priest, prophet, and judge Samuel from 1 Samuel 1-3. First I start with prayer, then I emphasize the opportunity parents have to show their children what it looks like to walk with God in all situations and model it for them. I discuss the importance of giving space for the Holy Spirit to work in people's lives and trusting in God's capabilities to reach and communicate with kids and teens. You’ve got the Holy Spirit! - Playing in the Connected Families Framework | Modeling God in Discipline | ep 147I fully believe that God wants you to enjoy being a mom. It is a gift and a blessing. When we do it with Him, instead of for Him, we are able to model God’s love for our children while experiencing joy in our motherhood. Then, our children will be able to know that Jesus didn’t just die for them to have eternal life in heaven, but abundant life here and now with Him. In this episode, we look at the 4 messages of the Connected Families Framework and how we can use play to help our children experience and know: Child, you are safe. Child, you are loved. Child, you are called and capable. Child, you are responsible. You’ve got the Holy Spirit! You can do it, mama! - Helping this generation know God | Learning from Judges 2 | Why do kids fall away from God? | Ep. 141As parents, we have the incredible responsibility of teaching our children about God. It's one of the most important things we can do for them. But it's not always easy. We may not know where to start or how to make it interesting for our kids. In this episode, we'll discuss the importance of teaching your kids who God is and what He has done. We'll look at the story of Judges 2 to see how God's people forgot Him and suffered the consequences. And, we will reflect on our own lives to remember stories of what God has done for us so we can share it with our children. Love: Reflect on what God has done for you: today, this past week, the last month, last year, and each decade. Teach: Teach your kids stories and how to recognize God in their own stories. Play: Have fun with telling God stories. Turn your hallway into a God history museum exhibit. You’ve got the Holy Spirit! You can do it, mama! - A Playful Way to Teach Your Kids about Sin | Lenten Family Discipleship Activity | Ash Wednesday to Easter Crown of Thorns | Guest Katie Wetsell | Ep 135This Wednesday is Ash Wednesday, the first day of the Lenten season. Lent is a somber season when we prepare our hearts for the death and resurrection of Jesus. But somber does not have to mean we can't be playful as we teach our kids the significance of the season. in this episode I invited my friend and fellow Connected Families Certified Parent Coach, Katie Wetzel, to share a playful yet deeply significant activity that she does with her family during Lent. Love: Jesus loves us so much that he was the final sacrifice needed for our sins. Teach: We can bring our sin to Jesus. Play: Make your own Lenten crown of thorns. You’ve got the Holy Spirit!
