Phenomenal show
This is the most enjoyable, well produced and thoroughly entertaining podcast that I have had the pleasure to find! My commute daily is up 90 minutes twice a day, mainly on dark scary roads. This is the perfect companion. My sincere appreciate on a great job!

GOAT horror anthology
It honestly doesn’t get better: stories, narrator, production are all top notch. I listen to a lot (maybe too many?) of podcasts, and while there are a ton of good ones out there, this is a great one. If you like well-told stories that send a tingle down your spine and linger after the telling - not to mention an incredibly bingeable, lengthy trove of episodes to dive into - you’re in the right place.

One of my favorite horror podcasts.
I just recently started listening to this podcast. Typically I don’t like gore in horror films. But for some reason I really enjoy dark gore filled tales as podcast and many of their episodes are just that. The narrator is fantastic. If you like scary stories you’ll probably like this series.

The BEST Horror Podcast!
I’m fairly new at this whole Podcast thing. A friend recommended that I check out these Horror Podcasts, since I’m a huge reader of Horror Fiction & that I love listening to Horror audiobooks. She thought I’d enjoy them and she wasn’t wrong. It was a bit overwhelming, at first, because there’s so many of these Horror Story podcasts. So, it did take me a good minute to find ones that suited me best. This podcast is hands down my favorite! When it comes to story telling the narrator plays a crucial part in the success of that story. That’s why this podcast is my favorite. The narrator is just phenomenal at what he does. Another thing reason I love it so much is because of the stories told. I just started listening to this podcast and already I’ve heard stories by some of my favorite authors: J.A. Konrath & Lovecraft. I can’t wait to listen to them all. Please, never stop sharing these kickass Horror stories.

These are performances by a master at the top of his craft, and they deserve industry recognition; with well-earned hyperbolic reviews such as these and creative financial support. If you are searching for good, solid, original stories, the occasional masterpieces and classics, all exceptionally performed, they’re here, or surely - uh - bound to be. Hit the subscribe button now, give the show five stars, and drop the man some coin for his labors. I stumbled across this podcast by pure luck, and while in Covid-19 quarantine, I listened to every.single.episode in a single week. FYI, that was three years of his work, for which I did pay, because he bloody well deserved it for such fantastic craftsmanship. I am listening to his performances on other shows now, because I am a newly minted fan as I write this. Kristin Holland is a phenomenal voice actor, and this show is just THAT good. His intro/outro character voice is every bit as ICONIC as John Kassir’s “Crypt keeper” from HBO’s “Tales from the Crypt.” It’s not a fair comparison because these are two VERY different performers, with very different responsibilities, in separate mediums, with wildly divergent resources dictating how the work was...executed. The “Narrator” (glad he has no name) is such a specific character voice you can *instantly* see this character in your mind. I honestly have played episodes on repeat because I find The Narrator and his “other” voices, soothing to listen to; despite the nature of the content. Kristin does all the voices, and at times, it’s staggering to consider it’s the same individual. Truly. Outstanding. The show is very well edited, with high quality vocal sound, and the occasional ambient sound effects sprinkled in here and there. In a creatively just world, this show would get a full ambisonic sound mix - because it deserves it. It could easily be an amazing anthology streamer. However, such an extra digital treat is minor when offset against such superlative skill and talent. Be kind. Share. Pay up. I know you will enjoy these shows as much as I did, Gentle Listener... A+ —> one of best, if not *the best* in the business right now.

Chilling and thought-provoking, this series explores all genres of horror, with excellent production quality and marvelous voice acting. Pulling from various writers and styles, this podcast is limited by nothing save the boundaries of darkness and horror. It explores subjects ranging from the tangible, terrible strength of the instinct to survive, to the metaphysical, unknowable void outside our physical reality. It explores a godless, hopeless world, brings to life the monsters therein, and drags its listeners into the shadows of the human mind and its most maddening imaginings. I highly recommend for anyone that would like to have their mind expanded into the abyss, and their heart topped off with chilled and foreign blood.

The narrator (Kristan Holland) is amazing skilled, his talent and range of character voices is unmatched, a genuine genius. Thanks to the skills and mastery of Mr. Holland, each story is alive in the mind’s eye with the physical manifestations to match. This is by far and away the most entertaining podcast out there! The next step is to become a “minion” or “cohort”, such a believer in Mr. Holland’s craft have I become and I suspect, you will be as well. You will have to listen to an episode to learn what a minion and cohort are in relation to this podcast. If you are interested in the horror genre, you have found the gold standard here!!!

Best podcast by far! The stories are excellently picked, unlike other shows that are hit and miss. This show rarely has a bad day. Don’t even get me started on the narration! Can cross a line or two.
I should start out by saying the voice acting is immaculate! The narrative just draws you in. I started out really enjoying the short stories and just a little creepy. As I listened further it got darker. Which is definitely what some people look for. I have to warn you, this show gets really dark. Especially on the episode “forgiveness” I think for myself if I wouldn’t have heard part of the episode (I couldn’t finish it) I would have given this a 5 star review. I wish they would give more information on the episodes in the summary so I can choose which ones I can stomach and which ones I can’t. But all together this dude has a wonderful voice for telling stories. And you should give it a shot. Just be warned on the graphics that are told.

This podcast is awesome the voice artist is a terrific narrator.its just Some episodes I just could not listen to. I found it hard to pay attention because in some episodes I was not entertained at all. While others made me lean in and caused me to be on the edge of my seat as if I was watching a movie that I could not take my eyes off of. Episodes that have plot twists and surprise crazy endings are what makes this podcast 5-star worthy, and some episodes just sadly don't have that.

Fantastic Production
There are so many horror podcasts that, no matter their intention, fall on their faces due to overly hammy affected 1930's accents and "scary" monster voices. Kristin Holland is not among these. His delivery treats the stories with exactly what they need, when they need it, and his voice keeps you drawn in without any distracting additional audio. "Animal Cruelty" is a particularly fanstatic representation of this, as it actually made me laugh at the exceptionally bleak humor of the antangonist's commentary amidst the grimness of the situation. The choice of stories is another high point. Everything I've heard so far is a classic or a new and thoughful tale in the genre. I've not heard a single overblown eyeroll inducing creepypasta in the lot. If you're up late and seeking a missing nervousness in your life as you look out the window into the dark, this is a fine choice of listening material.

Good job with the podcast! Lovecraft's stories are some of the best ever written but... I've heard most of them four to five times all from different narrators / casts. I'd like hear more from the mythos's expanded universe like "The Stagnant Breath of Change" and "Hierarchy" (The latter not being official but fully within theme.) On other subjects; I can't speak for anyone else but I hate slashers and serial killer stories. I am a big fan of multiple voice actors for spoken roles and immersive sound effects / overtures but the podcast does well without them.

Nocturnal Transmissions is well produced, well written, and well narrated. The ambiant soundtrack puts you right in the story’s space; especially if you have headphones on. I use my noice cancelling phones so I feel fully immersed. The narrator has a voice with just the right pitch and depth that you could fall asleep listening if the stories weren’t so good. It’s unique in it’s own right and has earned a spot at the top of my list right near The Other Stories and (of course) The NoSleep Podcast.

The voice work (he does ALL the voices) is outstanding and the whole production is well done. Some of the stories you'll have heard before, because he does public domain stories as well as newer ones. But you won't mind. I've listened to his reading of The Cask of Amontillado, for example, several times. Really great work.

When I listen to this podcast I feel like I’m driving down a winding county road at midnight. There are no other cars and very few reflectors. What was that moving behind the bushes over there and where did that mist come from? Oh god did I just blow a tire! I’ll be okay. I have a flashlight in the trunk, but what about the walk to the trunk. Why is the light and the tire iron so far away. Did you feel that? Did something just rock the car? Magically Horrifying
His voice + the stories he tells make this magical. I’m dead serious. From the first one I was hooked. I stopped my rotation of multiple horror podcasts to listen solely to this one! I’m almost on the last episode and I hate that I’ll have to wait for more to be released. These were amazing for binge listening. There are tons of horror podcasts to choose from. 5 stars isn’t enough.
No other podcast even comes close to what Kristin has done with Nocturnal Transmissions. The atmosphere, the voices, the flow of the stories and the way in which the dread builds up is enough for you to hit pause and check the locks. I love it. My fiancée and I have been falling asleep to this podcast for months and simply can’t get enough. 2019 has been dreadful without you and the nocturnal transmissions team. Please come back, it’s too easy to sleep these days and I can’t stand it.

Beyond fantastic
The narrator has something special, he has tapped into a fairytale hellscape that is incredibly hard to find. Most horror podcasts opt for a sort of strange indie radio show, whereas Mr. holland transcends such things by creating a sense of whimsically macabre intimacy not heard since our childhood campfire ghost stories. If you’re looking for a perfect mix between story telling of the horrific and production without pretension, you’ve found it in nocturnal transmissions. Bigger productions should take notice. Holland is a master of voice acting range with a focus on the creepiness we all know dwells deep down inside our own hearts. Please continue, dread speaker. We’re all listening.

I love a good scary story. If it smacks of literary depth, even better. Social worker though I may be, the dark intrigue and tense horror bring me back again. And again. Kristin’s voice is intense, horrifying, subtle, erotic, sympathetic and skitters over your ears like a Boschian Madonna’s fingers. I’m subscribed to dozens of horror podcasts, but these updates somehow always ...creep to the top of my feed.

I subscribe and listen to several horror podcasts- I am so glad I found this one...it is, without a doubt, THE BEST. The stories are seriously chilling and really grip the listener. This is now my favorite podcast!

A great show that does a wonderful job performing the more modern stories as well as the public domain entries. Highly recommend for anyone who likes horror, definitely one of the better anthology series.

A perfectly gloomy atmosphere
Our “humble narrator” is equal to the task of reading each and every selected story. His voice, and minimal use of background music, really convey the gloomy atmosphere that these tales require. The range of stories is excellent as well, including older classics as well as newer ones. My favorite so far is The Monkey’s Paw, by W. W. Jacobs.

I found this podcast by chance and it feels like I moved into a Haunted House. Lights out with popcorn, surround sound. Luv it! MORE. IT's like walking into a basement with lights on. You know you shouldn't be scare, after all there's nothing to be scared of right, right...

Good, creepy stuff!
I don’t know why it took me so long to find this pod as I frequently search for short story original horror stories. Well, I’m glad I found it and I have quite a few episodes to catch up on. The addition of a few “classic” horror stories are a welcome addition. Great narration as well!

A fun Horror /Dark Fiction Podcast. Good selection of short stories. Tempo is a bit fast and voice acting could be more authentic, but overall I give it 5-stars. Worthy of a listen. 👍

Great pulpy horror fun
Kristin Holland delivers great horror short stories (a mix of classics and new tales) every two weeks. Dark but an interesting mix. Holland’s voice acting is perfect—theatrical and enthusiastic without quite being over the top.

Amazing Podcast
This is a great podcast for any fans of the horror story genre. Kristin Holland is quite possibly the best voice actor for horror I’ve ever heard. I wish he could voice my stories! The story selections are great as well. I definitely recommend this Podcast.

Great stuff
I downloaded Patrick Meegan's story Hierarchy. The narrator's voice kept me riveted and engaged through the entire episode. I'm definitely downloading more stories. Excellent job, by all parties involved in the production of this piece

Nocturnal smockturnal, this was Awesome
Awesome stuff. I wanted to hear Patrick Meegan's short story Nocturnal, so I tuned into this Gem!! Kristin has a terrific voice, especially in the Horror realm. He really brought the story to life. Had me listening intenlty on every word, and that's not easy. Great stuff
