My favorite new show!
I love this podcast and can’t believe it’s taken me this long to find it. The host has a soothing voice and presents the stories in a way that is interesting and comprehensive. I admired his interviewing style and love his soothing voice. Definitely one to check out if you enjoy first hand narrative interviews.

Great content and production
Found you through the Morbid gals and I’m already hooked. Started with the Valentines massacre and moving onto more. I’m really impressed by the quality of content and production. You ask great questions and the insight given is very compelling.

My favorite podcast!
No idea how I found this but I think Jordan is a great host. He is interested, curious and kind. Stories are just askew enough to grab me so that I have visited the Shag Harbor Museum, listened to more Ashley McIsaac and bought Paul Palango’s book. I enjoy the theme music too. So sad that I’m in the states and our Timmy HoHo’s closed down:( Their ice coffee had great crumbly ice and maybe a religious icon image on the wall…

Good, BUT…
Love the content and the interviewer sounds like such a nice guy, but he needs to insert less of himself in the interviews. Let the people tell their stories! Jordan, don’t be afraid to pause, skip a beat, and let people elaborate. Some of your questions are leading and presumptuous (out of your own kindness/empathy) but this impacts the person’s natural telling of the story. You also seem to follow up too quickly with more questions somewhat as a nervous tic. I’d love to see this podcast succeed, and thank you for the content you’ve produced.

Some are good
They seem to spend time talking about what they’re going to do as opposed to just doing it. Nobody comes here to hear about plans or to be told about someone else’s idea about a show. Just do the show. You made the podcast difficult to Navigate to find shows. People just want the show. Ads are bad enough. Ads were enough to drive me back to audiobooks but now talking about what you’re going to do is like a long ad. Just do shows. But since now this podcast is too difficult to organize and delete shows that are not shows I just delete the entire thing.

Love all kinds of pods but this one was great too. My only complaint is the constant music in the background until the show starts. I have sensitive hearing and the background music hurts my ears. Really? A used necklace ?
Come on now. Did I really just listen to a podcast about a lady who received a used necklace. I kept waiting for the big reveal of what this was actually about but that was it. Give me a break. How ridiculous can you be. Yes it had ashes in it but grow up. That is NOT news worthy or episode worthy in the slightest. No wonder Amazon did not respond. Geez.

Like it, but loved it
Until Paul Palango became a cohost. First and foremost, I truly appreciate calling law enforcement out for their insular, protective propaganda. And I completely agree that the RCMP did an ATROCIOUS job with the Nova Scotia rampage. However, I honestly feel that with no balance to Palango’s very obvious personal biases it’s just a platform for him to gripe. He doesn’t sound professional, he sounds like your annoyed, overly-opinionated uncle at every holiday function; he self-aggrandizes, shows contempt for domestic abuse victims, and from these interviews, offers very little evidence of what he espouses. I guess if I had a subscription to the magazine he writes for I could get the full story, but I don’t, so maybe stop having him on the show if we can’t get the full story. (I’m an American so have no dog in the RCMP fight.) I appreciate that Jordan is trying to give a more comprehensive and very necessary criticism of how this tragedy was handled, but Palango is almost unbearable. And the episodes with him now seem unending. The topic doesn’t have to stop being covered, but I’m begging for a different perspective.

Needs edits
I listened to several episodes and I’m not thrilled. The interviews in a few were not edited. The host uses “like” and stutters over questions making it hard to listen to a good flow. It seems like questions and timelines are in need to ease into a story. There are only so many “and um, like, to to” I’m a Patreon subscriber so I am sticking it out. I’m being kind and hoping not to offend the host. I appreciate the research and stories being told.

Nova Scotia Rampage
Excellent narrative of the horrific event however, the 3 stars are because I found it particularly jarring that one of the podcasters kept reiterating how awful it was that a police officer died. He made it pretty clear that it bothers him more so than the civilians, than the mothers murdered in front of their children. Police officers are paid to put themselves in harms way, their deaths are awful but I get so disgusted with the idea that their lives count more than others. They don’t.

Loved the crime stories about the glove guy, Nova Scotia rampage, even the weird stuff like Gordie Sampson and that guy who rode a horse to Tim Horton’s. But these call in shows where a delusional and probably mentally disturbed man rambles on with the hosts encouragement about Jesus and aliens is just too much. him supporting the racist belief that aliens built the pyramids AND then deleting my YouTube comment when I called him out on it- just made me realize the garbage wasn’t worth it anymore.

The only true-crime podcast I still listen to
I used to listen to a bunch of different true-crime podcasts but I couldn’t stop thinking about so many of the very disturbing details in the cases and had to take a break. Nighttime is the only true-crime podcast I still listen to every week. Jordan Bonaparte covers his subjects responsibly and with empathy and is a great interviewer. And the subjects are often whimsical, like UFO sightings. Love this podcast.

Good podcast but...
I enjoy this podcast, have for a long time but a few things stick in my craw. One: It was a quick shift to the true crime genre, I guess that’s what sells these days based on the slew of podcasts on the topic. I enjoyed the strange mysteries and unexplained subjdct matter better. Now it’s going to be rehashes of missing persons and murders I’ve heard on other podcasts. Two: Statements like this one, directed to listeners, “without you this show would have seen the light of day many moons ago...” leave me bemused. I’ve heard other blunders in the past, and they all seem like basic goofs that could have been avoided if the speaker was paying more attention to what he was saying than how he sounded saying it. And three: The stupid MAGA comments directed to the US during the intro to your Pentagon UFO disclosure episode are not appreciated. People from around the world listen to your podcast, and as far as America is concerned we’re not all blundering Trumpers. It cheapens your show and clearly illustrates your narrow minded view of the US. I enjoy listening to podcasts from our neighbors to the north. I hope you understand that most American citizens are concerned with the state of our country and hope for some serious changes following our November election.

Ugh... NS Rampage.
Wow. First ten minutes of episode 1 — narrator is stumbling around trying to express how devastating the crime was, when he clearly can’t. Just get on with the story! “I can’t believe how terrible this was” “I’ve never heard of these towns” “I’m from here” This isn’t about you. Please don’t do a report when you’re traumatized, and the whole story isn’t yet known. Also, refusing to use Wortman’s name makes for a really awkward listening experience. I’m just sitting here hoping the piece will smooth out... ugh. Well it didn’t. By Part two the narrative was still grasping and fumbling and the pace is agonizing. I’m canning the Massacre piece. I will try another piece before unsubscribing.

So Disappointed
I read about this podcast. I came across it and immediately thought I’d really enjoy it. After listening to the first episode of the Nova Scotia murders I found myself quite disappointed., extremely frustrated and angry. Jordan’s inability to speak was sad. I tired so quickly of his weak, stammering, stutter-filled style that I was trying to finish his sentences for him. He sounds as if he has zero confidence in his own approach. He does not carry an ounce of any sense of urgency while describing the killings. I became extremely frustrated because he is so bad at podcasting. I was patiently waiting for this “fingernail on the chalkboard “ experience to improve but it never did. I enjoy listening to several podcasts and this one is the worst one I’ve experienced. Maybe Jordan can find work that removes him from struggling behind a microphone. There was no music, nothing whatsoever that kept me hooked. I feel bad for writing this honest review. I’m not even willing to give him or his podcast another chance as I have unsubscribed from it. I can’t even try to give Jordan any compliments. He lacks confidence and holds back. He struggles to smoothly speak with any passion or confidence. It is quite obvious that he’s not very dedicated to his trade because it’s so broken and frustrating to listen to. Maybe a new host needs to try and save this poorly produced and executed podcast. It’s that bad. I’m just keeping it real and if others would stop trying to be kind and avoid embarrassing confrontations, maybe they would also leave an honest review. Doug R. UT

Tonetta = early Prince. Nighttime is a great podcast.
Nighttime = 5 stars! Jordan you should expand your knowledge of early Prince in terms of the overt (and hilarious) hyper-sexuality aspect as Tonetta reminds me a great deal of early Prince even though the musical styles aren’t that similar (he reminds me much more of Prince than John Lennon dude. Listen to Prince’s album Controversy for example. Lennon is a different kind of genius). He also reminds me of Leonard Cohen with the growling voice as well and even early Lou Reed... Tonetta kind of went in the reverse direction as Prince (as Prince was much more graphic in his early days before he became a superstar). Nighttime is a great podcast featuring all sorts of fascinating topics from true crime to the paranormal to the fringes of the music scene, and Jordan, its host, has a great voice and explores these fascinating topics with grace and dignity and intelligence. By the way, I think I’m one of the nasty reviewers you were discussing with your Dark Topics buddy Jordan — however, unlike Luna, your work is mature and engaging and even at times poetic (and I’m a literature professor). Maybe you can teach Luna something?

This was the first ongoing podcast I ever listened to, subscribed to and supported. I’ve subscribed to very few since. Annoying Production Great Content
I like this podcast’s content. I would like to listen to every episode, however, I am driven to extreme annoyance by the repetitive ambient background “music” that seems to be playing continuously. I keep waiting for it to end but it persists on and on and to me, it’s like fingernails on a chalkboard. I can’t bear the sound of it and I have to stop listening. I could handle sine intro/outro music or even some dramatic music moments, but it’s this persistent background music that I can’t handle. Creator denies its existence which I find weird. Surely it can’t just be me who hears it? Good content, though. I periodically check in to see if production changes and I will keep doing so.

I’ve been listening for a while now. I first heard about Night Time when Jordan interviewed Lindsey Souvanarath. I love things as simple as the tone and personality of Jordan when he interviews his guests. Part 2 interview
Great interview... Delilah Saunders has a really nice voice... from the perspective of an American who was previously unfamiliar w/ this story, it seems to point to cultural difference regarding newsworthiness how much Canadian press was devoted to the health crisis of a murder victim’s family member, but I guess that’s a testament to how great a person she is & how much people love her!

The host is sensitive and offers himself fully in a unique collage of topics. A little bit of Everything
I love this podcast! I live State side and enjoy hearing stories on what’s going on up north. I get a little bit of supernatural, true crime, and miscellaneous Halifax Nova Scotia information I wouldn’t otherwise be exposed to. I can’t wait to visit someday and sip a coffee at a Tim Hortons, waiting to see something weird. Thank you!

Dark Canadian stories and monsters...more please!!
If you love great story telling and true crime then you need this podcast! His voice is so soothing and hypnotic. Listening to him is like having your therapist tell you that he’s looked and there are indeed monsters under your bed, but then ensures you you’ll be fine and for some reason you believe him. I love TrueCrimeGarage and My Favourite Murder, but NightTime has the great Canadian stories you rarely hear about like the monster of the Miramichi. All fresh and new! If you love to be scared, but also hate to be scared, this podcast is for you!! Thanks much

phenomenal
This podcast is amazing. It contains all the type of content that I love from paranormal, true crime and a bit of everything in between. Jordan has amazing way of telling a story and connecting with the guests he may be talking to on the show. I like that he isn't afraid to talk about topics that may be challenging. Especially in relation to his current episodes that may cause people to turn away. I'm always a little bummed when the show ends and I'm looking for more. Awesome work Jordan!

On sentencing
Having practiced criminal defense law in the US for many years I need not be reminded that prison sentences here can be draconian. Still I am often stunned by the leniency shown by courts in Canada, the UK and Ireland. Vengeance should have no place in assessing punishment. But my god, many of these victims and their families deserve justice that in too many instances I simply am not seeing.

Music TOO loud and distracting!
Enjoyed at first, but lately the music overpowers the stories. I listen with earbuds and so often the music is louder than Jordan and especially some of the people he interviews. I finally get to the point that I just stop listening. Why do all the podcasters think that adding music makes for a better podcas?. I listen because I want to hear the story, not music. I have now unsubscribed because it's too frustrating too listen. Sorry Jordan! Kill the music!!

I am so loving Jordan and his storytelling. I found him via the MMM guys, Tim and Lance. His voice is just so soothing to me at night and I feel like I have a warm blanket wrapped around me as I listen. I like that the stories are varied but that there are also miniseries type tales as well. I’m quickly bingeing through the previous podcasts so I hope he keeps up the good work for a long time.

Paranormal and ‘real’ mysteries are equally interesting
As you see I put the word real in quotes and not paranormal, because what IS real, really? According to most philosophers who have studied the subject ad nauseam, no one has the same definition of ‘What is reality?’ So for those who say they don’t like the pods about the paranormal but they do like the REAL ones, I say to you, it’s all ‘real’ to someone, or many. And it’s ALL equally important to explore. Basically, this is a pretty good podcast about reality, that happens to fall into the paranormal category. How many credible strange realities have to be reported before it’s taken seriously? I do not believe that several million people are all mentally ill and hallucinating these things, sorry, but that is more ridiculous than the other option, which is that some can be explained and then some can not be. Time to focus on the latter.

More concise and less ads, please
As a Maritimer, I have high hopes for this podcast, and will look for improvements. My current issues with the podcast are the multi-episode serial stories, which could be summarized into a single or two episodes, at most. There is also too much promotion of other podcasts and advertisers - perhaps charge more for ads if you choose to take them.

Downward spiral....
Initially I was drawn to this podcast because of the interesting content. Jordan has a unique way of letting a story unfold, and I found the stories of UFO sightings and weird happenings interesting. Has the show has progressed, I’ve become disappointed in the content. Not only has it strayed almost exclusively into true crime (aren’t there enough already), but the shows have dwindled to less the half an hour. Take out the advertising and the intro and you’re left with barely 15 mins of real content. I’ve stopped subscribing and doubt that I will return.

I just love this podcast. Everything about it makes me feel good. The stories feel very personal and intimate the way they're told. To me, it's reminiscent of the great stories of Up North told by Garrison Keillor. It's like Night Vale, a Prairie Home Companion, and True Crime all wrapped up in one nice little Canadian package. Highly recommend! Very entertaining.

I can't handle hearing 'ON-explained' or 'ON-usual' a hundred times an episode. It is UN-usual, UN-explained. It is a 'U' not an 'O'. The subject matter is interesting, but I don't think I can listen to this anymore. ON-connected ON-explained ON-able ON-usual ON-identified ON-named ON-settling ON-comfortable ON-solved ON-familiar ON-certainty ON-real Sorry to ruin it for everyone, now you will be as annoyed as me.

Interesting and easy to listen to
I'm always looking for "new" podcasts to listen to, so when I heard an advertisement for this podcast on Astonishing Legends, I decided to check it out. I have a few podcasts on my playlist that are based on interesting subjects, but the hosts are difficult to listen to because they lack inflection. In perusing the reviews of this show I saw that most of the more critical reviews stated that Jordan seemed to be reading from a script and his intonation was flat. I did not find this to be true at all. To me, he has a very pleasant voice and a personable interview and reporting style. I was surprised to find that he has been putting this podcast out for quite some time. I really like the short (approx one-half hour) duration of the shows because they fit well with my daily routine. I can usually listen to an entire show without having to pause and then try to remember what was going on when I come back to it, which is a bonus for a senior citizen like me. I highly recommend you give this podcast a try. Keep up the dedication and good work, Jordan!

I discovered this podcast while listening to another paranormal podcast where this host was a guest. This is a very entertaining podcast that details many mysterious events mostly pertaining to Canada, and more specifically, eastern Canada. Punk Rock Farm LOVES Night Time!
If you're new to Night Time Podcast, being brought here by true crime podcaster friends of Jordan's like True Crime Garage, or Crawlspace, then you're in for a unique experience! Jordan explores the strange, odd, supernatural, and mysterious legends & tales typically reserved for being told, or re-told, when the sun goes down. Jordan's stories are particularly local to NE Canada, and sometimes sourcing from other areas of his vast country. He interviews interesting Canadians on all sorts of topics, from strange rock formations and carvings, to UFO sightings, and naturally Big Foot gets his day! He discusses one of Canada's most sadistic serial killers (who knew Canada had a serial killer!?). Jordan also does his best to help the families of missing Canadians by featuring their stories; doing his part to keep their names in the spotlight, his compassion evident in his gentle tone. Make no mistake, this podcast isn't just for Canadians, it's for anyone intrigued by those particular tales best reserved for telling in the dark. If you want True Crime all the time? There's a podcast named just that! And plenty of great True Crime podcasters to listen to -- but Jordan's podcast shouldn't be so quickly dismissed. He's intriguing, fascinating, has amazing guests and is a fantastic interviewer. We have enjoyed learning so much about the mysteries, artifacts & lore from our neighbors to the North -- and once you delve in to Night Time Podcast? You'll hear for yourself just why so many Podcasters are friends with Jordan, and why you've been lead North, too. Take a swim in the dark waters of Canada's Atlantic Bays; in the Sound to the West (watch out for dismembered feet!); and all the lakes and fjords in-between! Come, light some candles, turn down the lights, relax and enjoy Night Time with the rest of us! -- Punk Rock Farm, Washington, USA

"sup with the butcher knife?
Man, these wanna be Serial podcasters are getting REALLY annoying. I check them out because I have high hopes but I'm almost always disappointed. I say almost because I stumbled upon the "Trace Evidence" podcast and although not perfect, it is pretty good. I had hoped this would be at least good but it's only fair. I have to add this. I think the promotion of an e-book and the new book the guest was working on was a detestable way to end the Sydney McDonalds murders episodes. The was a brutal case of multiple murders and I am embarrassed for Canada and their "corrections" system. These guys would already be compost had they lived in Texas.

Night Time is one of the first podcasts I really got addicted to, and I've been listening since early on. I've loved all of Jordan's episodes (except for the slasher movie one, but that's just not my thing). His research is excellent, and he covers topics I've not heard about before. I love to listen to Jordans voice. He's got such empathy for the stories he tells. His podcasts keep me company on long Sunday walks with my dog. When he interviews someone he listens to them, really listens! He doesn't twist the weird stuff. I think his stories amaze him as much they do his listeners. I'm always fascinated with Jordan's stories from the mid-Atlantic of Canada--and I like the mix of paranormal, true crime, history. It's a little heavy on UFO-ology, but even that can be fascinating from a sociological point of view. My favorite part is the intro--very quirky and fun!

Great Production Quality but...
I would give this Podcast a 5 for production quality and a 3 for content. Overall, I'm giving it a 4 only because it should be called the Emma Fillipoff Podcast. Absolutely wonderful to listen to!
I discovered your podcast when the garage guys covered Emma Fillipoff's disappearance and recommended your episodes for good information on the case. I can't even begin to tell you how pleasant it is to listen to your storytelling and interviews, as you are so charming and kind and thoughtful, not to mention, being that I'm from Southern California, the Canadian accent is outrageously fun to hear! Truth be told, I've not been too interested in the paranormal topics, as I'm mainly interested in true crime mysteries, but I've been so drawn into your stories I'm going to give all your episodes a listen! Smart, thoughtful topics with a great host
I got into this podcast through the Emma Fillipoff episodes, which were excellent and unlike any other I'd heard on the topic. Not only were they very thorough, but they never lost track of the fact that the story is of a real person who has gone missing, and the host does a great job humanizing everyone he interviews. The rest of the episodes I've listened to so far are equally well-researched and thoughtful. Highly recommend.

Just needs a little more work
Checked out your show after seeing you follow on Twitter. My critique: slow down your pacing so that listeners have time to imagine the story. It's hard to keep up with a host that sounds like he's reading fast to get to the end. It's OK to read from the script, just try to make it sound close to your natural voice. Other than the pacing, the production quality is good. I can tell that a lot of time and work was taken to produce the episodes. The topics for the episodes are interesting too. You just need work on pacing and this podcast could be right up there with S&S. Unfortunately, the one thing keeps me from being able to listen.

Perfect Balance
The Night Time Podcast raises the podcasting bar in a difficult genre to podcast in! The topics are a nice balance of missing persons, true crime, the paranormal, and more 'fringe' topics. Vanity project
I had high hopes for this podcast, but found it provides very little actual information, favoring instead the creator's personal theories. Some ethical concerns were raised by one series - I think it was the Maura Murray case - in which the host made vague references to the 'seedy past' of the missing woman and her family. Though no evidence for this was produced, the host concluded she had disappeared to escape her past, probably for safety concerns....and then proceeded to outline how hard he is trying to track her down. It is just really upsetting that someone would come to a firm conclusion that a person had valid reasons to vanish, and then feel justified to violate those wishes and outline publicly how methodically he's going about it. Unsubscribed (from podcast addict).

I really enjoy the exploration of mysteries in this podcast. From missing persons to possible alien encounters to ruins of unclear origin, that's what this is about: real life mystery. Very thoughtful and thorough
Jordan does an amazing job probing the unusual and puzzling. Every time a new episode is available, I perform a happy dance. I love how intimate and direct each production feels. The intro voice is smile-inducing, the theme song is moody, but it's the content that beckons me to return. Check it out now, you'll thank me later.

Mysteries For Lighthouses
Sometimes very spooky, always well-produced, this Newfound-podcast from Newfoundland is at the top of the Lore-like heap with the rest of the best. A breath of fresh air for those who love Astonishing Mysteries but tire of the multi-host, all-talk-at-once platform that too many of these kind of podcasts end up as. Night Time is one Canadian, mysteries well-told. Bravo, kudos, and cheers~ (also: count how many times the Smartest Canadian contestant says "basically" in episode 6!) Destined for greatness.

Best Accidental Discovery
I was looking for a podcast on an individual subject and this one was recommended. The one I needed was so good that I became a subscriber. Jordan keeps it interesting, runs through as much of the gritty details as he can find, and makes it a pleasure to listen to him.

Great podcast! New favorite
One of my favorite new podcasts to listen to. Jordan does a great job as the host of Night Time, and the episodes have all been extremely interesting so far, keeping me intrigued and entertained and save me from my boring workday. From alien encounters, paranormal, and dark mysteries, each of the stories that are presented on the Night Time Podcasts has been a joy to listen to. Even recommended this to my girlfriend and now she is hooked also! Keep up the great work.

I love this podcast. Not only the material, but the host as well. He is the most eloquent and sensitive when speaking with victims' families. I really appreciate this about his reporting/narrating.

Oak Island, Maura Murray, and more!
Jordan possesses a NPR voice. While I'm not into paranormal mysteries, I am interested in the missing person cases he has covered. One particular case I recommended was actually introduced on the show. Jordan is one of the kindest and smartest voices in the podcast world.

- Canadian Gothic - Kaitlyn Braun; Birthing fetishist? and a 16 year old mass shooterOver the past week two separate stories played out in Canadian news stories that seem pulled straight from the script of a horror movie; In Brandford, Ontario a 24 year old woman was arrested on a collection of charges related to allegations she is a birthing fetishist and had conned doula's into caring for her during her non existent pregnancy and it’s imaginary complications. In Edmonton, Alberta a 16 year old mass shooter shot his mother, killed two police officers, and is now a suspect in another random shooting at a pizzahut In this episode of Nighttime’s Canadian Gothic series, Jordan and Madelayne Klein unpack both of these stories. Transportation wouldn't be a problem either, the mystery man could drive them to the camp that night. The last time any member of the Jack family was seen was only a few short hours later… packing some of their belongings in a truck. In this episode of Nighttime, I've invited Canadian crime content creator Madelayne Klein to help me try and understand what may have happened to the Jack Family.
