- Episode #171 The Turner Twins on learning about life through adventure!Today's guests are the Turner Twins! The Turner Twins (Hugo Turner FRGS and Ross Turner FRGS) are British adventurers who have undergone a host of pioneering expeditions to help people learn about our world using new technology and purposeful adventures. Together they have rowed the Atlantic Ocean, climbed Mount Elbrus, attempted to trek the Greenland Ice Cap and have reached several Poles of Inaccessibility including; the Australian, North and South American, Iberian and most recently attempted to reach the Atlantic pole of inaccessibility using a hydrogen powered yacht. #TurnerTwins #adventure #adventurers #expeditions #testing #analytics #polesofinaccessibility #rowing #sailing #biking #education #technology Here are some key points that I would advise you to concentrate on You should seek adventure in your own life, it doesn't need to be climbing mountains or sailing across the oceans, adventure can be at a level that challenges you. A lot of challenges have been too mainstream and too boring. You can take part in a lot of challenges in life, " have a bit more creativity ... and benefit to it" and give back to others doing it. Finding a purpose and a personal reason to do a challenge, such as raising money for a charity that you have a connection with, can be the best way to start having more adventures in your life - for example I did a sky-dive to raise money for terminal cancer care nurses who had look after my grandparents and I saw how amazing work they did. The brothers appreciate that they are not experts in a lot of areas in their adventures, so they will find those experts who can provide "rich experience' and information to fill in the knowledge gaps and help you achieve your overall goal. The type of kit you have can certainly give you an advantage towards your goal but won't give it to you easily. Prepare for a challenge, not for comfort, with your kit being functional to the task, get your fitness up, and your mindset dialed into the actual demands of the challenge, and you are ready. Treat the world like your own neighbourhood. Pick up litter, recycle, avoid using single use products where possible. Kids should be out learning and exploring in life, we need more kids like the Turner Twins. Kids learn a lot of life skills in enjoying the 'great outdoors'. By taking part in adventures in your life, it helps you find the boundaries in your life and the limitations. By taking part in challenges and adventures, you push back your comfort zone, you realize that you are more than capable of achieving more in life. Sometimes losing a potential path due to redundancy, injury, breakup etc, a loss can help you find a path you never thought about, a loss of identity can help you find a new identity that can help you change the world for the better. The brothers use Google to locate the people and resources that they need, and will ask others for advice on what to use and who to contact. They realize they don't know it all and it is a sign of strength to ask for help. Sometimes the best way to succeed is to put one foot in front of the other and repeat. The Twins used 'Dream On' like a life philosophy, they took challenges and life as a chance to dream on what they wanted in life and a chance to pursue them. Where people see 'Dream on' as negative as in you wont have a chance to do that, the twins saw it as a positive, on picking a goal, dreaming on it and finding out how to doing it and going for it. Sometimes the path that is the less travelled, is the path that you need to consider venturing on. " Everything happens for a reason ... shouldn't regret anything that happens". You need to be as mentally prepared for a expedition compared to being physically ready. You can normally deal with the physical side of things, but it can be straining on your mental health, motivation etc if you are not prepared and cause you to fail. During your trips, you will not only achieve your goals, but you will learn about yourself as a person, and learn your limitations, learn what you are capable of and it creates a new level of focus, understanding and ability within yourself to go and do more in life. It is only recently that there has been such a level of money and media behind people taking part in such adventures. You should encourage your children to go outside, create reference points and happy memories of having fun, and we will then be more likely to bypass the comfort of everyday life, and chase creating more happy memories of the outside world. The brothers appear to reverse engineer there projects, they take the overall aim, and then work back to see what skills, resources and controls etc they need to implement into their plans, and build from the end back. Curiosity is a great trait to use, look at alternatives, consider options, see the why, the limitations and what else could be used. Never settle because others recommend it, find those that work for you by trials, discovering etc, and be consistently open to alternatives and new ways of thinking. Failure is not a bad thing. " People have become very afraid of failing". Learning to fail is a good thing, learn from it, readjust your outlook, skills and goals and try again or pick a new target.0 comments0
- Episode #170 Dr. Chris Raynor on surgery, rehab and a healthier you!Today's guest is Dr. Chris Raynor! Dr Raynor is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, a University of Western Ontario alumni, the Human 2.0 co-founder, husband, and proud father to three exceptionally-talented grown children. After a long course of training, he has worked as an orthopedic surgeon for over a decade and now works to change the face of medicine through his various social media platforms. He seeks to educate and empower people by teaching them the tools with which to positively impact their musculoskeletal health and wellness. But not satisfied to merely “talk the talk”, he also wants to “walk the walk” as well. As an educator as well as a physician, Chris Raynor wants to help and empower EVERYONE to take charge of their own health and wellness. He wants everyone to become a better version of themselves, and he wants to give everyone the tools with with to do it. After all, if you are not going to do it, who will? Here are some key points that I would advise you to concentrate on Chris is using his social media to educate people on things he is passionate about - there is nothing stopping you from doing the same. Mobility is the key principle that should be added to your training to build longevity of your health and wellness for later life. Use your passion to go on a voyage of self-learning, use your hobbies to grow, learn and understand about life etc, like Chris does when he makes his videos, the research and work he puts in has made him a fan of life long learning. Not every treatment method is a safe or effective method, you should look at the pros and cons towards various treatments, and look at the literature without emotion and simply considering the facts to make a judgement. Fixing issues in your strength, flexibility or mobility of the joints etc can greatly increase your quality of performance. A good method of goal setting, is to figure out the end goal, and then reverse engineer, work back from the end goal, marking down the steps you need to take to achieve this, and you will have your pathway towards your goal. Figure out the resources you need and start! You can make a career out of a passion like Chris did. We should not carry our injuries as a badge of honour, get it fixed as soon as you can, true strength is noticing a problem and getting it fixed before it hinders the rest of your life! " Education is the key to all of our happiness". "You can't talk about the whole world off one patient" - you need to consider the depth and scope of the sources etc you use, consider who funded it, what was not looked at etc, to help form your opinions. Focusing more on the weaker aspects of the energy and performance chain, will give you more bang for your buck. There is no one fix shop, your fitness, health and abilities are unique, and your health fixes and improvement plans should be too. Analysis of a system and seeing where things go wrong, and looking at potential solutions to resolve energy leaks and problem fixes is a great skill to learn. Chris does this with his surgeries and their after care ... how can you add it to your work etc for better success? A little prehab now can help the need for lots of rehab or even surgery later on. " We shouldn't be celebrating stupidity ... we should be encouraging people to be as smart as possible" is the phrase that hit me, I agree wholeheartedly with this, the ability to understand and look for a better understanding of things helps you see the true depth and beauty of life and what is happening. All sports have their particular risk of injury. You need to be aware of what can happen and train for the level that they are at, plan for longevity using prehab exercises and fix current issues with rehab methods. We should be able to move in 3D, not just forward back or up and down, our bodies should have 3D movement and if not, you need some rehab work to get back to what it should be able to do. Focus on your health, your wellness and your longevity to do what you want to do in life! You should interview your surgeons, carers, doctors, therapists etc going forward like you would interview for a job - make sure they have your best interest at heart, understand your case fully and not just going to give the same cookie cutter fix for treatment that everyone else gets. Education through content creation can be fun, you can follow his lead and use entertainment and real life examples to showcase your teaching. Education is King! Not all information is correct or should be taken with the same level of value as others. The ability to analyse the content, leaning, author bias, funding source etc, to critically analyse the sources we take information from is something that is truly lacking in life. " Mobility is strength throughout the range of motion". Just because something has always been done one way, doesn't mean it's the best or most efficient, always be looking to improve your skills and your processes, never settle. Be humble and be willing to learn. Education is King!0 comments0
- Next Level Guy Mar 7 · 1h 43m Episode #169 Charisse Cooke on relationships fixes, communication hacks and why therapy can be life-changing!Today's guest is Charisse Cooke! Charisse Cooke is a psychotherapist with over nineteen years of professional experience. She works in private practice in London and is also an online educator through social media. Specialising in relationships, Charisse offers challenging, hard-hitting advice to anyone wanting more honest and authentic relationships. She wants to bring all the lessons learnt in the counselling room to a wider online audience, so as many people as possible can benefit. Having started her career working in rehabs, Charisse loves working directly with people, challenging unhealthy beliefs and implementing healthy behaviours that bring about long-lasting change. She started her own treatment centre in 2006, and has been in private practice for over a decade. She works with individuals, couples and families on how to have truly loving relationships and understand each other better. Follow her on Instagram @charissecooke or TikTok @charissecookeofficial or access her key teachings for free at www.charissecooke.com Here are some key points that I would advise you to concentrate on You should interview your therapist, just because you have been referred, doesn't mean you need to accept them as your therapist if it isn't working out. Interview your health professionals and find those that work best for you. If one method of support doesn't work for you, please don't give up. Humans learn through stories, so unfortunately we assign stories to behaviors and try to justify them with a story rather than realizing they are patterns and you can change. We are shaped by our upbringing, our family culture, our religious beliefs, cultural attitudes to what is accepted etc, these factors can pressure us to act in a certain way. Look at your behaviors and decide, is it helping me, is it keeping me safe, is it holding me back etc - question your behaviors and see what needs to be addressed etc. You need to be able to hold yourself accountable as much as you hold your partner accountable. It is hard to be introspective and see what our behaviors, patterns and actions are causing and stemming from, which can help us grow as people and connect better to the other person. Find you scare people off by coming on too strong with the emotion, connections etc - The other person on a date should show you they want you to give more, save it for someone that has earned your love. We can be more comfortable giving what we would want to receive. Dial back your wish to give to others to 30-40% until you see the other person asking for more. We have three options in life, try to change the situation or ourselves, we can accept it without changing it and learn to deal with it, or let go and move on. It is the same in a relationship, we have an obligation to ourselves to be happy and emotionally healthy, and you can use the above three options to decide how to proceed. Going to therapy isn't a bad thing, it is a sign of strength to see something you want to work on and get it fixed before things get worse. Needing therapy is not a reflection on you as a person, we all need help at some point. We are unconscious acting in most cases, we do not always realize why we act the way we do, it is built into us cellular level. The typical 'socially accepted' relationship dynamic is no longer the must follow, you can decide how you want to date, connect etc. You who were in a relationship back then is not who you are now, we grow in life, and as we get more experience, growth and maturity in life, we can find what we want and need in life changes. A key thing to learn in a relationship communication is to learn how to respond rather than react by emotional regulation work. Sometimes it is better to come back and discuss something then discuss it when emotional, angry etc. It can be better to discuss things when the emotions and feelings have passed, and you can discuss things when calm and in the moment, not wrapped up in the feelings. There are normally a lot of emotions, feelings and thoughts behind someones true reason for cheating. We can be defensive in our relationships due to the vulnerability that opening ourselves up to another being in a relationship can bring us. Use therapy like you'd use the gym, therapy gives you mental and emotional fitness and strength for life, like the gym gives you physical fitness for life. Journaling can help you by looking at your dates, looking for the stories we tell ourselves, actions we continually do etc. You need to notice patterns first before you can start working to remove them. The best relationship you should have is the one that you have with yourself. You should love yourself, all of you, before you go and try and love someone else. Use breakups to look at what you want in life, what you liked and didn't and use it as a place to grow and learn about yourself. It is healthy for us to feel our emotions, accept our emotions and let them pass, control your breathing, and then respond from a controlled place, rather than reacting emotionally. Charisse suggests a relationship meeting, where you can share positive things you did and noted about them, discuss issues, look at how things are etc, without being emotional, wrapped up in feelings etc. It is a safe place, that lets you discuss, be constructive and grow and most importantly learn about one another, and learn to love each other healthier and be happier. Thinking about a previous relationship, one that had many emotional highs and lows, can give you the same sort of feedback as an addict scoring a fix. A lot of times we do not see it for what it actually was, we actually treat the other person like a drug, someone to help us feel better, someone to numb the pain etc, and miss the highs and roller-coaster chemistry journey it put us on. You can not always see what is happening in your life, or identify the patterns that you are making. Therapy is a great tool, as a trained therapist can help you identify problems and behaviors that you want to eliminate. It takes robustness and self-esteem to truly look at ourselves and see where we are working well and where we are going wrong. " We are all playing out our past in different ways!". You need to analyse your behavior and work out what you are continually doing and figure out what helps you grow and what helps you slip back, and work towards changing the habits you no longer wish to do. You can find an identity by building tribe of people you want to connect with, through social groups, activities, sports, volunteering. Emotional regulation is key to our happiness. It is personable to you how you do this, some need to walk around, some need physical touch, some need to breath to relax etc, by acting to control your emotions, have humility, and look at our actions and see see where they are coming from and not just acting in old patterns of behaviors. You need to treat your partner like a friend, as much as a lover. Different situations require different actions and types of communication, to connect, learn and grow from their. It is not healthy to try and impose your will on someone and win every argument. When you break-up, regret is great to do, as it lets you come to terms with things, but you need to let the grief out, to let it out, to stop clinging on to it or trying to hold onto the partner through out. Grieve for the lost relationship etc and come back stronger, open and ready for another relationship.0 comments0
- Episode #168 Dr. Carlos J. Berio on how to be healthy for performance, skill and life!Today’s guest is Dr. Carlos Berio, the first BJJ Physio and licensed Physical Therapist and he's back for round 2! He is a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and a Trigger Point Dry Needling Expert. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology. His combination of hard skills and an ever present focus on the client experience is what makes Dr. Berio and SPARK Physiotherapy an industry leader in all things ‘performance physical therapy’. He is most recognized for his work with BJJ/MMA players as well as collegiate and professional rotary power athletes. His personal experiences as a collegiate baseball player and as a competitive Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioner, make him a sought after resource on the field and in the training room. Carlos remains active in several sports and is an avid BJJ enthusiast, motorcycle rider and adventure race runner. As he says ... Treating sports pain is my skill. Returning people to play is my passion” Our first episode is available here. Here are some key points that I would advise you to concentrate on Taking part in sport can be the best thing in the world, however it can be taxing on the body, and rehab and pre-hab exercises can help you build longevity into your training. Pre-hab does not need to be a drain on your day, you can make it a habit, that you do in the morning and evening. Learning to cook properly, take an interest in your health, more walking, some basic work on your body and your health can will be going strong well into the winter of your life. Dr Berio recommends interviewing your physios, doctors etc. They need to be the right fit for you, and you trust that they have your best interests at heart. If one isn't working out, find another one, you are not stuck with only one, you can source the best options for your health as you need. Your body should work and move in 3D, with all parts working towards overall performance. It should be move in all types of motion Dr Berio mentions, if you can't then a physical therapist can help you find the weak link in the chain for better health and movement regardless if you play a sport or not. Getting tested regularly in different areas such as blood pressure etc, can give you a base line that lets you track your progress and see changes and health improvements over time. You don't need to eat 100% clean all the time, but eating clean in moderation allows a treat meal here and there. You can still enjoy the luxuries in life, and don't need to be a monk, but a little maturity helps you do the things you love a lot longer than someone that lives for the short term fix. You need to give your body stimulus to want to change. However, too much and you can get injured, so you need to know how to heal when things go wrong. We need to create an environment where young athletes develop their skill-set AS WELL AS their understanding on how to look after their bodies going forward to keep healthy as they age. Stop thinking about your performance as due to a weak muscle or area, think of your body as a system. A poor area will be causing issues, but it is a sign that the whole system is leaking energy and other parts are compensating. Fixing the issues along the chain will allow you to hit new levels of performance! Doing a movement once isn't enough, you need to be able to triple extend, hinge etc, routinely without restriction, without pain etc, if not, then you some rehab and then prehab work might help you move like a supple leopard again. Stop comparing yourself to others. You are an individual. You are unique. So your training needs to be, your nutrition plan should be, and your rehab should be too. Be unique and follow and concentrate on your own journey, be happy with the small wins and compete to be a better person than your were yesterday, last week, last month etc. Movement is medicine, it is the most cost effective, healthy and fun way to promote health and movement well into old age! Prevention is a lot less costly than a surgery will be in terms of your health and finances! Avoid trainers who use terms like 'never', 'always' etc, health is very individualized and a good health trainer will look at what you need and work with you for the best, not what they need to sell to you. It is not your current abilities that matter, it is where you can go from there - don't take negative feedback on your health and performance badly, use it to set goals to work on with your trainer to make your future better. A good trainer should help you learn, educate you and allow you to experience movements as they go, rather than dictate or worse try and sell you a course on it! Health understanding changes a lot as research and understanding are performed. Setup some Google alerts, use websites like PEDro and read up on what is happening, what is understood etc (consider the potential bias in it) and learn. Be open to new ideas and consider implementing it into your own health journey. Look for the coach and trainers that want you to get better, not only interested in making money from your health. Training plans can be reversed engineered from your end goal, but they need to be designed to what you need to do, your restrictions etc. A lot of what we considered 'Health Law' is now being debunked and found to be unnecessary or unsuitable, don't hold onto what you knew, be open to listening to new ideas and see what works. As you age, you need to add in a layer of prehab exercises and some slight modifications to your playing to keep playing as long as you want to. Not all health equipment works. Not all is suitable for you. Just because it sounds scientific doesn't means it actually works. research the products you use to see if they are worth it.0 comments0

They have just brought out an amazing new guide for athletes over 40, a guide that will teach you how to defeat the younger, more athletic opponent - a must buy for all BJJ athletes as the skills, concepts and techniques in here are like a cheat code for BJJ success! Your guides in the BJJ for Old F***s instructional are, Rob Biernacki (46) and Stephan Kesting (52), both of whom are very experienced BJJ black belts Rob Biernacki is a BJJ black belt, and head instructor of Island Top Team. He’s among the forefront of the new wave of BJJ instructors, using sports science, biomechanics, kinesiology and a conceptual approach to the martial arts. Rob has traveled to train with Marcelo Garcia, Caio Terra, Eddie Cummings, Paul Schreiner, and Henry Akins, Ryan Hall, Dean Lister, Jake McKenzie, Ricardo Liborio, and Charles McCarthy from ATT from whom he received his black belt. He frequently teaches seminars at academies throughout North America and is sought after for private instruction by other BJJ instructors seeking cutting edge information. He has also coached high level competitors like BJJ legend Yuri Simoes, Bill Cooper, Kyle Boehm and others to victory in high level competition. Stephan Kesting is a BJJ black belt who has trained for over 40 years in the martial arts, including many grappling arts like BJJ, sambo, judo, submission wrestling and shoot wrestling. His Youtube BJJ videos have over 64 million views. He’s produced 36 BJJ instructionals, and has published 3 books on the topic. Stephan has worked with Rob Biernacki on a number of very successful instructionals including The BJJ Formula, The Modern Leglock Formula, The No Gi de la Riva Formula and The Submission Formula. The underlying theme of their previous work is scientific and biomechanically-based approach to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. These instructionals have been described by many as the best, most useful instructionals they had ever seen. The BJJ for Old F***s instructional will definitely improve your skills, reduce your injuries, and improve your longevity on the mat. And help you tap out lots of young punks. What’s better than that? Apologies for my mic settings here, my side has a bit of an echo but the quality answers from Stephan and Rob more than make up for that! #bjj #martialarts #islandtopteam #grapplearts #grappling #competing #olderathlete #tweakyourapproach #skills #techniques #guardretention #guard #playoffyourback #baseposition #leglocks #bjjconcepts #greatcoaches #rollbetterfeelbettertrainlonger Like Bernardo Faria said, find a move that you can become a specialist in rather than just good at most, find moves that work for you and you can become a god at them, and your game can accelerate as you grow from them. Older athletes need to ensure they have a deep understanding of underhooks, frame, base etc to ensure they know why they using certain moves, guards etc rather than just knowing the 'what' move. There is a macho element in some BJJ places, where when you roll, you roll at full speed and 100% always. Your BJJ journey is your journey, you have the right to pick and choose suitable training wise, and ask to slow things down, take rest rounds etc. As an older athlete, you need to appreciate you won't be able to go 100% all the time, and need a reality check. However, with honesty and time, you learn how far you can push yourself as an older guy. Practice is the time you learn, you grow as an athlete, a person and a BJJ practitioner. You need to learn that your training partners are there to grow and learn with, not to try and win against regardless. We are all there to grow and learn, if you break your toys ie training partners, you don't get to play with them so calm down 'Andy'! Judge a technique not on how well it works, but but how bad a situation it leads to when it fails - does a technique cause you to be passed and subbed all the time, then you might want to get rid of it! Assume that you want to 'experience as much jiu-jitsu in a round as possible' in a round when you roll, so you learn and grow every session, stop looking at taps as sign of weakness, look at the taps as a chance to learn how to improve your problem solving etc and you can get real time feedback on your current skill level, timing ability etc. If your gym doesn't do a proper warm up or cool down after sessions, you can add it into your routine to keep healthy and safe. Just because the class doesn't stretch, warm up, you can actually add in your own bits that you need before and after class to enable you to get to the next class and be able to live your life in between classes. Avoid trying to follow the lifestyle of health influencers and younger athletes, listen to your body, measure what works in terms of quality of sleep, diet changes etc and use those that work best for you and eliminate the changes that cause problems. No one else is living your life, look at what works for you and use those.0 comments0
- Episode #166 Tori Boggs on how to jump your way to success with your passion!Today's guest is Tori Boggs! Tori Boggs is a 31-time Grand World Jump Rope Champion, multiple time US National speed and power Record Holder, captain of Team USA, and current Triple Unders World Record holder. With over 1 million followers across her social media platforms, she's performed on The Ellen Degeneres Show, ESPN, Robin Meade’s Morning Express, NBA Halftimes, Ted X Events, and on America’s, Britain’s, and Italia’s Got Talent, to name a few. Tori is a performing artist and choreographer with companies such as Flip Fabrique, Cirque du Soleil, and in theaters across the globe. For over 20 years, she has traveled the world competing, teaching, and performing jump rope in over 30 countries. She has passion for using the rope in unique and creative ways to inspire others to be healthy, active, and vital in every aspect of life, encouraging a positive outlook and purposeful attitude. #TopTierTalent #Jumprope #Jumproping #competing #champion #recordholder #tripleunders #toriboggs #artist #choreographer #cirquedusoleil #backtuck #backflip #mma #athlete #reel #sport Here are some key points that I would advise you to concentrate on You can make a career out of your passion, all you need is dedication. No matter your passion, there is a community that you can join. The world is a much smaller place nowadays, google your local area and passion for potential clubs, look at Meetup.com and the like for clubs and associations you can join. Family, friends and even teachers may push back when you try and go a road less traveled career wise. You need to keep dedicated and focused on your goals. You can always find a job or a career to help cover the bills as you try and make a success of your chosen area, but regret is a much worse result than trying. Remember it is your life, your goals, do it for you, not for what your family expect, your culture etc - the world needs more people being true to themselves! There are a lot of advanced skills in jump roping, but you will need to start at the beginning, to dial in the fundamentals. Watch the video below for an idea on where to start and the first skills to try and learn: Whatever you do, have fun, learn by playing around, pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. It can take years to learn a skill so it needs to be fun to learn and fail through the years towards mastery. Jump roping is a fantastic way to get fit. Don't overdo it at the start, build up slowly to prevent injuries. There are beginner ropes that you can purchase, which help you develop spatial awareness, timing etc. Learning new skills are a fantastic way to build a creative mindset, which will help will all areas of your life. " There is no ceiling on what you can create" and you can add your own individual flair on each skill you use. Use your passion in the activity to encourage and inspire others to start their own journey. Everyone goes through a learning phase, even Tori! Stop beating yourself up. You don't fail because you made a mistake, it's a learning experience. Look at what it teaches you, where did it go wrong, how can you fix it, how do you resolve the issue, and you will come back stronger and a more skilled performer. The only time you fail is when you give up. Tori uses her routines to show part of her personality during the routines, she uses her favourite music and love for dance to reflect who she is as a person. You can use your hobby to help build your identity, to show who you are as a person Encourage your children to follow their passions and take part in any way they feel happy. Tori shares a special bond with her mum who is also involved with the sport. By encouraging and helping your child in their passions, will help you build a strong, deep bond with your children. You don't need to compete in your sport, you should only be competing with yourself and being better than the version of you that you were the other day, but competing allows you to test yourself, be put under pressure and learn how to deal with fear, stress etc, and see where you skill set needs work and improvement, to help advance your game etc. Tori utilises intrinsic motivation, she looks for motivation within herself on what she does rather than trying to compete with others, she finds a goal and pursues it to make her happy. What would happen if you stopped doing things because others expected it etc, and instead you did the things that you wanted to do for you, and you will more likely find success when it is something that you are internally driven by. You need to adopt Tori's 'Small Wins' mindset, where she works on her skills daily, and when things go right, she focuses on the small wins and successes, the improvement in her game, better timing etc. No matter how bad a session is for you, there will be something that went right. Use the small wins in all areas to build your confidence, to motivate you to keep driving forward. The negative parts are learning experiences, use them as a learning tool, and you will help build your confidence and help build up a mindset that will help you look to the bright side of life, to look for solutions rather than problems etc. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Tori Boggs WorldJumpRopeChamp (@snorib) Fear when trying a more advanced skill will not go away, even Tori as 31 times world champion feels it. Instead of focusing on the worries and the fear, she instead looks back at why she started, her love for the sport and how far she has come. Remember, a positive reason to do it will always overcome a negative doubt. Your brain is just trying to keep you safe. I find naming fear helps, listening to it and moving forward anyway (with safety equipment and planning as needed!) helps lose the power fear has on us. With some proper planning, help from coaches etc as needed, you can achieve what you want, you just need to use intrinsic motivation rather than be held back by fear. Look at your goal as going through a maze. One option might not work to your target, but there is normally another pathway to what you need, another method or alternative option to take that will lead you to the goal. Use habits and systems in your life, rather than a to-do list. Make eating healthy, sleeping better, training etc part of your life rather than something you need to do. When something is a system and happens automatically, or is a routine action in your life, you do it without really thinking about it, and it reduces the need to be motivated to do it, it becomes part of your day and another step towards your success. Jump roping is a great fitness builder that you can add into your sport training, as part of a cross training approach. It can help coordination, full body control, physical literacy etc. Add it into your training and see how it can benefit your sport and training! A lot of the benefits are transferable to other sports and activities.0 comments0
- Episode #165 Sam LaCrosse on value economics, identity and living authentically!Today’s guest is Sam LaCrosse! He identifies himself as a nobody. He hasn't done anything amazing. He is not extraordinary or impressive. He doesn’t even have a Wikipedia entry. He’s just an ordinary guy from Cleveland, Ohio, who now lives an ordinary life in Austin, Texas. But if you want to check him out, he's the author of "Value Economics: The Study of Identity, writes blogs on dontreadthisblog.com, and hosts Don't Listen to This Podcast. Sam is the CEO and founder of Don’t Do This, LLC, a company that makes no money. He is also a board member of Thrive Living Corporation and an ambassador for RallyCap Sports. #SamLaCrosse #Author #Writing #Newbook #ValueEconomics #Identity #Writer #dontreadthisblog #dontlistentothispodcast #CEO #Dontdothis #thrivelivingcorporation #rallycapsports #selfhelp #excesscorrodes #sacrifice #mindset #authentic #HarryPotter Here are some key points that I would advise you to concentrate on You can dictate your own path, just because it is not the usual way things are done, doesn't mean a damn thing! You can achieve any dream that you want to! Sam couldn't find a book that talked about his interests well enough, so he wrote one! How truly do you know yourself? If you had to describe who you were, what you valued, your goals, your fundamental building blocks, how deep could you go? Sadly we have lost part of who are, and it is now time to find out our true identity again! View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sam (@realsamlax) Every generation has their struggles, but perhaps our generation has life too easy? How can you look to challenge yourself every day? How do we know who we are if we do not challenge ourselves? Have you ever considered your values in life? What are hard nos for you, what do you consider the bits that make you ... you! We can identify as part of a group be it religious, political, sexuality, but it should not be the only part of your identity. It is OK not to agree with others, you can have a different opinion. You don't need to agree but everyone has a right to have an opinion. You can find out a lot about yourself and what you stand for in life by discussing topics with people with opposing views. Things you find yourself being considerably agitated by, are a good thing to look into, and see why you are having such a large reaction as it can help you learn about something deep within yourself. If you do not know your own identity, you can be led into a movement, that you maybe don't agree with, just as you try to be part of a movement. Do not sacrifice your individual identity in favor of the group identity. Do not lose your sense of self. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sam (@realsamlax) Create art in some way in your life, do not just consume! Do not chase dopamine hits in your life, to fill a void. Instead look to keep yourself busy, challenge yourself, find out your passions and mission in life, to truly learn about yourself. " You need a starting point". Consider how you were raised, how your parents raised you, the country you were raised in, the experiences, actions and discipline you had when younger. These all help shape your identity in a deep level. If you don't know your true value, and adopt a group mentality and mindset instead, you can be manipulated by people using manipulative methods. As new trends begin in society, the norms in society also change and become eroded, so we need to find new ways to make sense of who we are and what is happening in society. ' True values get distorted in the pursuit of greater value". " We are really pushing boundaries ... and we don't always know when to stop". Sam mentions that excess corrodes, so how do you know when you have gone too far? It will be an individual decision, but you need to analyse your life and ensure you are continuing on your mission, and not " outsourced Sovereignty" and lost yourself along the excess slide to despair. Self-help is a great industry, if used correctly. Picking out the habits, hacks and tricks that work well and using them in your own life is great. But if you are not been authentically yourself, you will find you go off kilter and rarely succeed. You need to look at yourself, not just the good parts, but also the dark side, the parts you are ashamed of and fear. To not identity these areas and work on them, you will never truly change, as they will always hold you back. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sam (@realsamlax) The sooner you catch a problem behavior, the better. The smaller the sacrifice the easier it is to do. Once you tie up a lot of assets in things, the harder it is, to truly change as a person. You need to learn who you are, to live authentically you and not play a character. If you act as someone else then you are not living your own life, you are living someone;s else life. It can be hard to speak authentically and act true to yourself every day, as you can encounter resistance from others. If you live your live as you truly are, you are already winning. Be careful on the people you allow to be part of your life. Yo can't please everyone, nor should you need to or can you.If your actions please yourself, and the people that matter to you, you have internal validation rather than needed external validation like so many people are chasing in today's society. " The moment you stop a lot of your people pleasing, is the moment you start living to your values." To please others, you are living to their values. To please yourself, you live life to your own values. If you have a message to give, a book, a podcast or whatever it is, you NEED to get it out there. The world needs more authentic voices. The universe will challenge you by putting up obstacles to see if you are serious or not. True deep change for you and the life you lead is when you prove you are serious. Work on your own self-awareness. You can adapt and change your path to avoid slipping and achieve your goals. Analyse what you are doing right AND wrong. Fix the wrong things and use the successes of the good things to keep motivating and inspiring you to keep on your journey.0 comments0

- Next Level Guy Dec 6 · 1h 30m Episode #163 Ida Zetterström on how to drive your way to success!Today’s guest is Ida Zetterström. She grew up in her dad's workshop, spending hours at the racetrack with her family, as her father raced classes such as pro stock and pro modified or worked with other race teams, and the track became her favourite place. At the age of 8 Ida started racing Jr Dragsters, at 16 Ida got her Super Comp Dragster license. In 2017 Ida started racing in the class Super Street Bike, the European version of the US class Pro Street Bike. In 2019 the team competed in the Scandinavian championship with a new bike, known as Lucky #13. Starting the season of good setting several personal bests and qualified top 3 almost every race of the season. The third race in the championship ended with the teams very first win, making Ida the first woman to ever win in the Scandinavian Super Street Bike class. The final race of the year ended with a second place finish in the event and the team also stood as the overall winners in the Scandinavian championship, making Ida the first woman to ever win a Super Street Bike championship. In July 2020 Ida became the first woman to ever clock a 6 second run in the Super Street Bike class, and in all classes driven on street tires and without wheelie bars, doing so at 6.985s and 205.9mph. The following race Ida rode a stunning 6.885s making her the second fastest rider in Super Street Bike history at that time and it made the the team the second team to get into the 6.8 second zone. Ever since her start in jr. dragster at the age of 8 the dream was always to race Top Fuel dragster, a dream that never died during the years of racing other classes. Ida continued to work on making this dream come to true, and by 2020 the goal was clear and she contacted RF Motorsport who is well known for being the best at licensing new drivers for this class. At the Euro Finals the team got the full pass needed to complete her license and they did so in a stunning 3.862 seconds, the quickest licensing pass ever. With 3.862 seconds Zetterström rocketed into the number four spot of quickest Top Fuel drivers in Europe. In the first official FIA Event of 2022 Ida and the team set a new European record of 3.782 seconds and by that they where the first team to ever clock a 3.7 second pass in Europe. And she is only getting started, and is one to watch! #Ida Zetterström #dragracing #superstreetbike #prostreetbike #racing #competing #lucky13 #championship #track #racetrack #supercompdragster #recordsetter #fia #racer #rolemodel #driver #pitcrew #mods #modifyingthecar Here are some key points that I would advise you to concentrate on It is ok to work in a career that doesn't set you world alight, to cover the costs of living while you work towards making your passion your career. Your age, race, gender etc do not define you, limit you or dictate what you can do in life, you can do whatever you choose to pursue in life. What environment you are raised in, helps shape what your kids are into, what they resent, what they enjoy and so on. Choose wisely as a parent, encourage not force, introduce them to lots of different experiences, let them develop their skills and interests and encourage them to find their own path in life. You are not the same as your parents, you siblings or your friends. Society does not get to tell you what to do in life. You get to choose what you do. Your life is yours to live. Drag racing is open to all, gender-allowed roles and sports are being removed thankfully, chase what excites you in life. Do not let fear hold you back, even if it looks scary. Ida got more injuries doing gymnastics when compared to a supposedly dangerous sport like drag racing. No matter what sport or activity you do, you are an ambassador for the sport even as a hobbyist - you represent the physical, mental and emotional benefits that the activity offers, people listen to your experiences of it and consider it from what you say. Use your experience to encourage others, to bring them into the love of participation in the activity. If there is not a path for someone like you in your preferred course, activity or sport, make one! Ida is always breaking records and chasing the next 'first' she uses these as a motivational tool, rather than a block. Just because someone hasn't done it before, its not the end for you, be the first to do it! Ida uses the smalls wins to motivate her to push herself further and achieve new feats in the sports. It might be harder to do your sport or activity depending on your physicality, so you should seek a good trainer to teach you how to prepare in the gym, on the equipment to be more efficient, to mentally prepare etc. It is OK to ask others for help, and bring in experts to improve your performance. Ida found her happiness at the track. You can find yours anywhere, never be afraid to show you truly are. Listen to my interview with Steve Kamb on how to let your freak and nerd flag flow! Social media is becoming an integral part for all athletes, at any level, as it lets you get promoted to others in various platforms, connect with your fans, use as leverage to source funding and sponsors etc. Treat your team, support staff etc like family, share in the spoils, enjoy the time together, the modifying of your setup etc. No matter if you win or lose, the time sent together can be the best memories regardless of the result. Ida works hard every day to improve her performance. You can work on your reaction times, get healthier, more cardio, build strength, analyse performances to find fixes etc. There is always something you can be working on to improve. Enjoy the journey of working towards perfection, you will never get there but the journey is always more fun than the destination. Again, you don't need to know it all. You can start with no experience, there are many coaches and experts you can work with to develop your skill set etc. Never be afraid to ask for help, guidance along your journey to be a badass. Trial different styles and methods on your training, and look to see what works best for you. For example - Training ... at night or morning? See what results you get with the different options and analyse the results. Build a strategy and system of working, so you are as prepared as possible to compete etc. Control the aspects of your sport etc that you can control and let the others just happen. You know what will come such as the kick off, start up procedure etc. Let them become something you do automatically and instead use the will power and brain energy on what you can control. What gets measured gets managed. Use analytical tools to record data on your performance and other factors. Once you know your starting points, you can then work on how to resolve issues, improve on areas and plan a schedule of training and work to become even better. The fear will always come, you will always fear it when doing something new, competing in front of people etc. Expect it, accept it, even give it a name and it loses it power over you! Build a routine of things you can do when not competing that lets you deal with the fear, such as listening to music, meditating, speaking to fans etc, find your own individual methods to suit your own individual stresses. Learn the risks but do not be controlled by them. Ida knows the risks. Shes had accidents and seen others have them too. Her love for the sport is stronger than the nerves. Control what you can, control the aspects you can so you are as safe as you can as possible when you take part. Ida likes to find faults, as she knows she can not dwell on the mistakes, it is something she can fix, something she can work on, to improve her performance. Be proactive to improve yourself rather than beat yourself up. Perfection is not possible. No connection is ever a bad thing. They can be a client, a fan, a team mate, and so much more. Learn how to connect with businesses, people and so on. You will be surprised how people you meet can help you grow and evolve in various ways. Share what you like and find interesting on your social media, your fans will find you and connect. Share all sides of it, what you find interesting, others will. People buy into your passion.0 comments0
- Episode #162 Bernardo Faria on how to become a true BJJ Fanatic!Today’s guest is the BJJ legend that is Bernardo Faria! It is a huge honour for me to feature Bernardo Rocha de Faria, who is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitor and instructor. His bio is amazing. A four-time World Jiu-Jitsu Champion, European Champion, Pan-American Champion and Brazilian National Champion and now he runs a juggernaut of a BJJ learning platform known as BJJ Fanatics, where you can find an instructional that will help you improve your BJJ game in all areas from training, game styles, mindset and so much more. He has become a living legend in the sport. In February and March 2013, Faria was ranked first in the IBJJF World Ranking of all divisions, and was chosen as the best jiu jitsu athlete of 2015. Faria received his black belt from instructor Ricardo Marques in 2008, and moved to the Alliance Jiu Jitsu Sao Paulo team to train with mestre Fábio Gurgel in 2009. In June 2022 Faria was inducted in the IBJJF Hall of Fame. Bernardo Faria currently runs his own Jiu Jitsu academy in Bedford, Massachusetts. He is a member of Alliance Jiu Jitsu team and Marcelo Garcia Association. I am a massive fan of his YouTube channel, "BJJ Fanatics", where he regularly posts techniques alongside other elite Jiu Jitsu practitioners and MMA fighters such as Dean Lister, John Danaher and Gordon Ryan. #BJJ #BrazilianJiuJitsu #Grappling #JiuJitsu #BernardoFaria #Itsahugehonorforme #training #competing #mindset #strength #speed #analytical #livinglegend #bjjfanatics #instructionals #learnfromthebest #business #ibjjf Here are some key points that I would advise you to concentrate on Getting to the top is usually just the start of you really working towards becoming an expert so you should enjoy the journey rather than the destination. Bernardo went outside the traditional roles that his family expected them to take on as a career, he went for the career he wanted in life. Stop following the path that others have picked for you, it is your life, follow the path that you want in life. Regret is a horrible thing when you live a life for others. Bernardo picked some techniques that he could become a specialist in to win most of his matches. Instead of trying to learn everything in BJJ, he become a god in using certain moves to win. Invest your energies on become highly skilled in some areas, become a specialist over a generalist, and once you have locked in these key areas, then look to expand your skill set, rather than be pretty good at most, become legendary at some. Bernardo trains against all potential partners and learns how to overcome their methods to learn how to then go to his preferred methods, rather than just drill a method. He learnt how to use his skills in real time against resisting opponents, rather than just drilling the mechanics of the move. This way he learned how to apply the move against his opponent regardless of the situation and could manoeuvre the opponent into the situation he needed to apply his strengths. Bernardo used his small wins to build his confidence each day, so he could figure out how to be confident in competing and believing he could win tournaments. Like everyone else Bernardo has to fight his negative self-talk, so he learnt to focus on his wins to grow his confidence and using loses as a learning curve rather than a weakness. Bernardo used incremental improvements to become a better fighter. Bernardo likes to utilise a routine in his training, to use his work ethic to continually grow, develop his skills and uses it as a restart, regardless of his win or loss, he centers himself by following his training routine so he is always in the moment, rather than living in the past. Bernardo states he owes a lot to his parents support. You are the average of the five people you spend the most time around. Choose wisely. Pick the people that support you, inspire you and push you to become a better person. Bernardo continually pushes himself, despite being a legend, he wants to learn, to see new things, try and learn as he trains rather than resting on his laurels. To become the best, Bernardo had to travel, to move away and attend the elite academies etc. You may need to sacrifice and leave your current location, to achieve the dream that you want in life. To achieve your dreams, you may need to use short-term sacrifice to find the resources that you will need to achieve your dream. Sadness will not pay your bills. Every day is a new opportunity. Bernardo likes to approach decisions using an analytical mindset and remove emotions. Bernardo always wants to do his best every day. It is a good way to look at your performance, you know truthfully if you gave your best performance, and if not, what do you need to do to fix? If you did and still lost, how can you get better for next time? Where can you improve? Bernardo continually tests new options, recovery methods, training methods etc, to see what changes will help his overall performance in his end goal. He likens this to AB testing like you would see in business, engineering etc. How can you trial new methods into your own training to see how it benefits your overall performance? Online courses are a great tool but must be utilized along with actual real-life training. Use the online courses to deep dive into the subjects and skills you are using during rolls etc. Bernardo uses psychological tricks to let him become focused in his rolls or competitions. He would list the things he was grateful in his life, training, progress etc, to focus on the positive aspects of his training, and then use each small win to boost his confidence as he went on. " Instead of feeling pressure about it, I would try and feel happy about it". " You can choose if you feel pressure or enjoyment". " Everybody is the same on the mat" there is no differences regardless of race, age, etc. The lessons you learn from BJJ can be used to help you through life. Self-improvement advice is just that advice! You don't need to do what everyone else is doing, you can find the routine and habits that will hep you the most. Keep experimenting and trying new things, to see what works and what happens. BJJ is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. There are gyms all over the world. Do not settle, you can find the right gym for you, the best coach, the type of classes you need to attend, the type of opponents - those who are fighting to compete or those who just want to get fit and learn something new and everything in between.0 comments0
- Episode #161 Steve Kamb on how to level up in the game of life!Today's guest is Steve Kamb! Steve Kamb is an author and founder of NerdFitness.com, a company and worldwide community of nerds dedicated to helping each other level up their lives. He loves powerlifting and bodyweight training as much as he loves Dark Souls and Tolkien. When he's not out on an adventure, he's probably curled up in his hobbit hole with a good book, his wife, and two dogs in Nashville, Tennessee. #stevekamb #nerdfitness #nerds #fitness #health #changeyourhealth #growmuscle #loseweight #powerlifting #bodyweighttraining #lordoftherings #marriage #beproudofyournerdiness #lifechanging #betterhabits #healthiermind #dedication #fit #weightloss #nutrution #findyourtribe Here are some key points that I would advise you to concentrate on If you can't find your tribe, make it! There are people interested in all sorts of things, if you aren't enjoying your current gym, programme, sport etc, then with some simple googles you can find something that you will love with people who could be life long friends as well. It's ok to fail. Steve states he has a lot of ideas and most weren't working, but he tried them. You never fail when something goes wrong, you get to learn from it. You never fail when you need to try a new way, as that is a new experience that you can work out potential solutions from and so on. You only fail when you give up. The journey of a video game hero character is a perfect person to resonate with on your own fitness and health journey. You can find a way to link something you want to learn by linking it to an interest and it will keep you happy and engaged, much more than following a boring example from a textbook. It is OK to start and not know where you are going, it is OK to just start, keep going forward and let life happen and discover things as you go. Characters from entertainment can be great examples to mimic, so you can list their habits, skills etc and work out like them, act like them etc, so you can build the favorable hobbies etc into your own life. You can achieve life adventures in your life, by " taking the best elements of those things and transpose them into a real life experience" that will give you a challenge, push you out of your comfort zone and achieve things you never thought were possible. " Lots of people have hopes, lots of people have dreams but you have to take the fun parts of your games and movies but then actually put a plan in place to start working towards that stuff otherwise you are just stuck day-dreaming". You can chart your own call of action, give yourself points as you achieve things, level up, and push yourself towards bigger and bigger goals. By attributing points, new levels etc, you find the fun of being in the game, achieving new experiences, and other wins, you can keep yourself motivated and challenged. You can mimic life as a superhero. Your daily life can be the alter-ego like Clark Kent, Peter Parker etc, and you can use the persona of your life hero to do amazing things like Superman, Batman and so on, when you decide to go on a mission of awesomeness. You can help find new inner confidence etc, when making a decision by acting as if you are the Superhero that you love. You start by ' taking the characters and the stories you are inspired by and starting to craft what this alternative version of yourself is like ' and acting like this new version of yourself, your life hero until the new actions, mindsets, hobbies etc become part of your life. " Having a community of people who are doing those things and living differently and bucking stereotypes and pushing outside of specific norms or societal norms" can be life changing, they will give you the support, help and encouragement to change. You can find it at NerdFitness, or you may even need to create it, but you would be surprised how amazing people are in the world and what communities exist. Twenty of seconds now, can change your life, and give you the future that you always wanted. This could be saying hello to someone you fancy, signing up for that class etc. Embracing the alter-ego of yourself can work great here, to push yourself out of your norms. " There is a fallacy out there that change, or dramatic change has to come from dramatic action ... change is often small, in quiet moments, when no one is looking". Small changes every day will not really be noticeable at first, but they will soon add up. Eventually they add up, day in day out, so you can achieve hem continually without failure so you can achieve your goals and six months or so, you barely recognize yourself! True change doesn't come in grandiose actions, it comes in gradual small changes that build up an area towards leveling up. What gets measured, gets managed. By attributing points to a task that you want to do, and having a target to reach, helps you keep motivated as you watch your score getting closer to the goal, it pushes you to complete the level. Then when you do you level up, you can buy a new gadget etc, it really becomes fun, challenges you in a good way and keeps it entertaining. You can make an adventure out of anything in your life, from your health to work to habits and so much more. Don't care where you came from, care where you are going. Your weirdness, your quirks, your strangeness, is what makes you YOU, and there others who want to be friends with that version of you, the real you, not the watered down version that you show to others and pretend to be as you are afraid to show the real you. Where you spend your time is where your current priorities are. You need to look at your life, your habits, your focuses and your actions and decide what you want from it going forward. Treat yourself with compassion, you only know what you know now, not then. You can make the change to change your life right now. Use the 20 seconds of courage idea to achieve the goals each day until you no longer need it, and keep leveling up.0 comments0
- Episode #160 James Peters on how to create a mental toolbox for successToday's guest is James Peters Lifestyle! Mentor And Mindset Coach James Peters Teaches That Even Through Adversity A New Future Is Always Available. Certified Jay Shetty Transformational Mindset Coach James Peters has experienced the hardships of loss and debilitating grief that follows. Despite all the challenges he's faced, he came out of it a new person and is teaching others how they can do the same. #jamespeters #lifestyle #mindset #mentality #transformation #lifechanging #changeyourlife #overcomehardships #overcomeloss #overcomegrief #futureself #transformyourmindset #findacoach #youcantdoitalone #forgiveyourself #youarenotyourthoughts #thinkdifferently #behappier #bemoreconfident #frequencybeatschemistry #noquickfixes #dotheinnerwork Here are some key points that I would advise you to concentrate on Your current point does not need to be your end point. You can change your life at any time. It is not a weakness to ask for help, it is a sign of strength to see something that is not working right for you, and finding an expert who can assist you fixing this. You don't need to know everything to change. You just need to start. "We are not taught in school how to think". Don't beat yourself up for doing what you needed to survive with the knowledge you knew at the time. Yet, it is time to change now. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Transformational Mindset Coach (@jamespeterslifestyle) We are often shaped by the culture we grow up in, what our parents tell us, our culture experiences, our religious experiences. These shape us as kids, but as we age we start to create our own identity. You can decide who you want to be. Your past does not need to dictate your future. A mindset coach like James can help you address the thoughts, emotions and issues that are holding you back. You can work on yourself, but it can be difficult to avoid falling into bias, blame etc. A mindset coach can help you look at things and understand them with a clear heart and mind, that won't let you create a story to avoid dealing with things. " The mind can be a trickster, always playing tricks on you." We can create a story on an event or situation, and tend to look at the negative side of things. When you can learn the skills to look from above your thoughts, rather than just reacting to them, you start to understand the message from them, and what true fixes you can do to resolve them. Medication is a great short-term help, but rarely helps after a long time without further work on how you identity with the pain, problems etc. "Frequency beats chemisty". A change in your internal frequency with meditation, breath work etc, can help you level up your frequency and help you heal and grow more than meds can do after their short term fix. " Everyone wants the quick fix and in a lot of case no one wants to do the inner work" that really helps. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Transformational Mindset Coach (@jamespeterslifestyle) Silence can really help, no screens, no distractions, let silence fall and truly feel your body, listen to the thoughts pass, be comfortable with yourself and learn to love yourself. Travel outside your normal environment can be a great way to help see things in a different light, by changing your environment, you can change how you view things. I certainly find going for a walk in nature really helps me think clearer, more positive and just helps me smile and recharge myself. Try it! " Pain to purpose". You can learn how to use your pain to push you on, to chase a purpose in your life. Change will take time, don't expect miracles but you will notice gradual change. People will comment on it, and you are normally the last one to know. Work on yourself each day and you will be surprised at how amazing a change that will take place. If you are feeling suicidal, please don't do anything drastic. Give it one more try. Reach out to a friend. Speak to someone. Email me. Suicide is never the answer. Treat your 'I can't go on point' as the starting point to discovering the new you and starting the journey to your true self and happiness. You have found what hasn't worked, so take time to find what does for you. Take some time out and make yourself the priority, work on yourself, fix your health, exercise, try new things, cull broken relationships, learn to be happy with yourself. " Be committed to change". Try to do something every day. " Start small. Micro-goals". Start small and build up. Don't expect miracles, but work on yourself and let the wins roll together into a rolling ball of success. A gratitude journal to record small things you are grateful is a great tool, it shows you how much you have in your life to be appreciative for. " You are the mountain, and your thoughts are the clouds" See them pass by. You don't always need to react, believe them or pay them attention. Look at them from above, are the thoughts true? Worthy of your time? Helpful? You know the real you, your thoughts are just parts of your brain suggesting things based on your bias, current mindset etc, they are not always true, helpful or worth your time. Listen to your true self. Separate yourself from feelings, emotions and thoughts. " Usually anger comes from the past". " Whatever we are afraid of, if we don't deal with it, it owns us". "Forgiveness is one of the hardest things we can do". Forgive yourself. Stop beating yourself up, stop destroying yourself. You can't change things, you will be " on a hamster wheel to nowhere." " Know thyself. That is the journey. The journey within". Stop looking outside yourself, you can learn to be happy, your are worthwhile and deserving of happiness, health and love, especially to yourself. " You have to go and find who you are". Write out a list of things that you love about yourself. Repeat it everyday and learn to love yourself, learn the value you give to the world and others. It is not a chance to be egotistical, but you need to learn your own value. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Transformational Mindset Coach (@jamespeterslifestyle) Use the concept of 'Future Self'. You are always building the future self of you every day. Each of your actions today are creating the future self that you will be. Make your actions work for you, act right, to become the person you want to be, in three months, six months etc. Stop expecting and start accepting. Nothing will fix you. No marriage, no kid etc. Nothing will make you whole. You just need to discover yourself and your purspose and work on loving yourself and doing good in the world, and you will feel complete in a way that no material goods or experiences will ever provide you with. " Be authentic. Stop trying to fit in ... stop trying to fit into situations." Be yourself and your people will find you. " A new future is always available ... who do you want to be." " Your inputs shape your outputs". What you take in shapes you as a person. You can't expect a diet of soap TV shows, negative news, social media binges etc to give you a positive mindset. Go to the gym, journal, meditate etc. Give yourself the best, positive mindset inputs to help you be at your best and do the things you want in life. " Everything is within you". Look to help others, look to give back to others. Share a smile, a help or a positive interaction. Make the world around you better in someway each day. Select a coach that you resonate. Interview your coaches. Do not select the first one. Be the interviewer rather than just someone that pays their bills. Find someone you are happy and confident with, and work with them.0 comments0
- Episode #159 Ryan Carter on how to take back control of your own health!Today's guest is Ryan Carter! Ryan helps his clients achieve their health goals by removing their obstacles and empowering them with a personalized and holistic approach so they can be the best version of themselves. He works with clients around the world either in person or remotely which has led him to work with the world’s Top 10 tennis superstars and the general public whom he had all treated fairly and equally with respect. Qualified as a registered nutritional therapist, sports nutritionist, a personal trainer, a breathwork coach, and many more specialized qualifications under his belt, Ryan utilizes a unique approach that encompasses a multitude of practices that does not believe in protocols or paradigms. He genuinely listens to his clients, applying his knowledge and wisdom in an individualized method. As a result, Ryan had successfully created a brand, “Live Vitae” that continues to uphold its vision: to ignite people’s inner light through asking better questions which lets people think for themselves firsthand about taking back control of their own health. Ryan’s website, newsletters and Instagram account (more popular) showcase his values and way of life. They’re full of wisdom that is all FREE for you to absorb. Here are some key points that I would advise you to concentrate on: You can take back your health with a bit of work. Live with the 'Live Vitae' life, live to the full extent of life that you can. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Ryan Carter | Nutritionist 🌞💧🧲 (@livevitae) Ryan struggled with his own health and knows what you are going through in your own struggles. He noticed a red flag when he lost control his own health, and noticed all aspects of his life was breaking down. Ryan was addicted to seeing a number go down on a scale, which is never a good representative of your true health. Friends and family are often afraid to speak to you about your health as they do not see anything wrong, or unsure how to approach the subject. A health coach is a person who is not tied by blood etc so can be open and honest with you and sometimes an unbiased person, can be the best approach to help you. Ryan found that people put themselves in cotton wool, they restrict their diet and their health, by avoiding food types etc and actually end up harming themselves. Your dodgy gut, ill feelings etc, do not need to be part of your story. You need to realise that it is your actions, food intake, water take, health work that help you become fitter. Improve these individual areas to create a better overall health setup. " The nutritionist title is not technically protected" so you need to be careful on who you listen to online, as not everyone has the same level of training and qualifications and can be giving dangerous advice. The main problem with people's approach to health is they mainly look at the diet to fix things, and this is only a small area of the picture that needs to be fixed to truly take back control of our health. " View this post on Instagram A post shared by Ryan Carter | Nutritionist 🌞💧🧲 (@livevitae) It's hard to measure true science outside of a lab". So it is hard to utilize something that is actionable in a controlled lab in real life. " We don't think of the bigger picture for health, take this for that ... appointments only lasting 7-8 mins" isn't a great way to treat people, we don't consider the overall lifestyle and have time to truly get to the deep level issues causing the problem. " The system needs to put money into prevention." Movement is a great fix for the majority of the health issues people experience. A daily dose of sunlight in the morning can be life-changing for you. It doesn't need to be hours, but a short burst of 5 minutes can really help. The scandium method controls our bodies and health. Without being outside, daily sunlight etc, we can cause the connection between our bodies software and hardware can go awry. " You need to work with your biology and not against it", put the phone down and go outside, get into fresh air and into the sun/light. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Ryan Carter | Nutritionist 🌞💧🧲 (@livevitae) " You are the manager of your health". You can decide who to hire and fire, you get to choose your coaches, your personal trainers etc. You wouldn't buy the first car you purchase, so why would you do the opposite when picking a coach to help you get in shape. You should write your goals and ambitions down on a piece of paper, so you know what you want to achieve. Simply dieting or working out will not help. There are a load of health tools you can use nowadays that will help you track various health variables and you can track the improvements. Remember, what gets measured gets managed. " We are always looking for distractions to get ourselves outside ourselves." We have lost the connection to ourselves. It is never one small thing that causes your health issues, but small lifestyle changes will roll into the next, and help you improve your overall health. They might not be sexy changes but things like sleeping better, will mean less brain fog, which will mean more willpower so you eat better, and as you eat better you might be more efficient at work, feel happier and so on. Our ancestors eat local, seasonal foods. We should too, but this brings in the need for people having the skills and techniques to eat like this. " Our meal right now will affect our next meal ... it is never one meal in isolation". It is not what you did that one time, it is what you do consistently. Change can be difficult. Ryan recommends gradual change, new habits to replace problem habits and let the changes spiral together into a better overall health system. You can use post-it notes to set reminders for you to go into nature, breathe better, better posture and so on.0 comments0
- Episode #158 Kenny Florian on living the warriors lifestyleToday's guest is Kenny Florian! He is a legend in the martial art sphere. His bio is immense: -3X World UFC title contender in 2 weight classes -4th degree Blackbelt in BJJ -MMA & Muay Thai expert -Creator of KennyFlorianMartialArts.com -Co-founder/owner of Florian Martial Arts Center in Brookline, MA. USA. -Analyst/Commentator for Professional Fighters League on ESPN -Co-Host BattleBots on Discovery Channel -Professional Jiu-Jitsu Commentator -Graduate of Boston College #KennyFlorian #BJJ #BrazilianJiuJitsu #Competing #Grappling #UFC #Combatsports #commentator #Battlebots #MuayThai #MMA #Blackbelt #Worldtitleholder #ESPN Here are some key points that I would advise you to concentrate on It's not enough to just go to training, you need to adopt the martial artist lifestyle to truly excel. Kenny " is always trying to grow and be the best martial artist and teacher" he can be. You learn a lot from the people that you hang around with the most, so choose the people you spend your time with wisely. The saying goes that you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with, so choose wisely! Kenny's dad's inspiration to push for a residency place, showed him that you need to fight for what you want in life. Martial arts are a great way to discover who you are as a person, to help overcome depression and anxiety. We all have a calling in life, and should learn to listen to ourselves and follow the path we want in life, not one set by friends, family or worse society. Kenny saw great success by utilizing training in many different martial arts. By cross-training you gain a deeper understanding of the sport, of yourself and your skills. Training on the mats will help you understand life on a deeper level. For the things you care about you need to give yourself wholly to it, to leave part of it there. " by running away from failure we run away further from success". Failing is a learning experience, it lets you see where you went wrong and what you need to fix to better your self. By running away from making mistakes you stay where you are, stuck in the comfort zone and you won't grow. Kenny found conceptual learning a great way to start learning BJJ. He advises that there is always a core to the move, the principles that must be done to action the move. The rest can be learnt and understood better thereafter. You can understand and learn a move, sequence etc, by using your ability to 'feel'. By feeling how your body, their body, your center of gravity etc, you begin to truly understand the movement and learn it on a deeper level than simply practicing it over and over. The video below is a great example of how to feel your body into a stronger position and not just try and squish your opponent and hope for the best: " You need to understand yourself and you need to understand your opponent. What are the strengths and weaknesses". If you are open and honest in both of these, you can learn how to take advantage of the opponents weaknesses and block their strengths from being used in the fight. It's important to feel your way in the fight, to know when to go for the kill, and when to hold back, when to step on the gas and when to sit back. " How do we maximize my options and minimize the options they have?" Kenny watches a lot of videos of fights etc to learn, to understand how the game works, to improve his skills and his overall understanding. You should be looking to add new layers and levels, offensively and defensively to your game. You should be looking to be as efficient and as effective as possible. Kenny is a big fan of meditation to help him clear the baggage he is holding onto, see things with new eyes and understanding and start with a clean slate, and a clean mind. " Chaos will always find us ... there is no place to hide". " In order to become strong, you need to experience difficult things". It takes time to become mentally stronger, to learn that you can take on harder and more difficult changes. You can read up on it, learn from other people, and also by doing them, a combination of these things will help you become better at taking on harder challenges in our life. Kenny would deliberately pick tough training partners, to keep pushing himself so he could push and push himself up to the point he could beat them. He would try and try to beat them, and in the journey he would become mentally stronger, have more faith in himself and also learn from chaos. Training is there for you to get better, not to win. It is there for your to get better as an athlete and martial artist. Use it as time to work on mistakes, learn, evolve your skills and be a happier and healthier person. Use the video below to start working on mistakes you are making and the best ways to identify them and work on them: Kenny analyses his performance physically, skills, mentally and emotionally, to see what he needs to improve for each fight to learn from his mistakes and improve each session. You need to invest in yourself, in your training and coaches. You fal back to the highest level of your training and not to the level of the situation. Kenny would push himself in training and try to be in as many situations and scenarios of things, so he could find a way to resolve them and deal with them in training and not when it mattered on fight night. Kenny uses visualization exercises to mentally plan out his game, how he wanted to use his jiu-jitsu and act in the fight. By visualizing, he could get in mental reps and look to find the problems to why his physical performance couldn't match his mental work, reminding himself how he wanted to act, to breath, to move and be fluid and then if he could visualize it, he then had the goal and acted to move like that in the fight. You need to beat the person that you were at the start, not competing with others, but always looking to beat the latest version of yourself, and able to beat yourself yesterday. " We are human, we will make mistakes, the key is to get back on track". If you stay thinking of the mistake, you are stuck in the past and not able to be in the present. By dwelling on the past you are not as present as possible, nor can you focus on the positive moves you are making and the things you are doing right. You need to learn to roll with the chaos, accept the mistake and refocus on the here and now. Kenny tries to bring the most of him to all his activities and it is when he finds the best success for him. " Anytime I force something in my life, it doesn't happen as smoothly as I would like" instead he uses a 'just do' mindset that lets him just be in the role he is doing and it happens and not put unrealistic expectations or pressure on himself. The video above is a great way to understand how relaxing can be a much better approach to constantly trying to smash and plough people, work with the chaos and not try and hide from it. " Don't be afraid of chaos and adversity". " Why be average, push yourself to be great".0 comments0

Kenneth is an Asian immigrant with an average-sized penis who lived most of his early life with crippling sexual insecurity. In Beyond Satisfied, Kenneth shares the sex hacking secrets he’s successfully taught millions of men. No one is born better, you just need to build on your skill level. The best sex comes from a focus on what your partner is experiencing and enjoys. Better sex can lead to a better connection with one another. Kenneth felt his own internal shame when he started his own sexual journey, worried about his dyslexia, his penis size etc, and more. Stop belittling what you bring to the partnership, no matter the label you put on it, and give all of yourself to the other person or people and through true connection, the sex becomes so much better. " Women aren't complaining about the size of men's dicks, they are complaining about how they use it!" " Statistically most penis fit most vaginas." We are not taught the techniques of sex or how to pleasure one another, sex ed only really focuses on the reproduction side of things. We need a cultural shift to teach people that pleasure is enjoyable and should be shared. Sex is an emotional act, not just a physical act. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Kenneth Play (@kenneth_play) " Watching porn to be a better lover is like watching the 'Fast and the Furious' to be a better driver". " There is a lot of difference between the meta verse and the real world." " You are prioritizing her wellness" when you talk about consent and follow the rules. " Most of the filthiest fantasies are written by women" ... their erotica really lets you see an insight into the type of sex and connection that women want in their life. " Guys want to have a competitive advantage" so why not use such an amazing resource like Kenneth's book to learn the tactics to blow her mind during sex, and connect with her on a level that no one else ever has! " Women respond to pressure better than friction, if you understand the fundamental principle of how orgasm works, and you edge her all the way there, you can learn how to unlock any lock (her orgasms) with your key (your penis!)." You can see in how someone is breathing, in the changes in their micro-expressions to see how someone is enjoying something. " You have to learn how to feel and the feeling is not just feeling her but also your own body." You need to listen to her sounds, the subtle change in her face, her body, her muscles etc. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Kenneth Play (@kenneth_play) By showing her that you care and will pay attention, is mind-blowing to a partner, that you are not just out for your own needs, but want to share the pleasure and experience truly with each other. "... the mutual pleasure is so mind-blowing and guys under-estimate (so much) that it is like they are trying to steal a snack when they could have the restaurant". Everyone doubts themselves, but top tier experts, feel the fear, and do it anyway. The fear will always be there, name it, tell it 'not today' and go for it. After-care is one of the key things that you need to incorporate into your sex life, to connect and bond with one another. " There is a beautiful balance between selfishness and selflessness in sex ... it is a dance between the two ... it is a flow of the energy between the two". " It all comes down to more than what you say is how you behave like what you do". Women are very good at being able to identify when you are not being truthful, so stop lying, be honest, and open and go for. Create a play-lab, somewhere you can have sex, learn, grow, try new things and experiment and become a more skilled and connected lover. Gauging arousal is like being a successful comedians, who tells a joke and feels the mood and emotion of the room, to see how things are working and not just tell a joke and not check if anyone laughed! So why would you do the same for the things you are doing in bed (etc) with a partner?! Sex has a lot of levels that you can improve on: incl foreplay, oral, anal, fingering etc. It is not a slap in the face of your masculinity to admit you can be better in bed. Why give up using an amazing resource like this and level up your sex life. Most women do not want to have to teach you how to be better in bed, so why not let an expert like Kenneth teach you how to level up quickly in all areas of sex! View this post on Instagram A post shared by Kenneth Play (@kenneth_play) Treat sex and her pleasure like taking her to a restaurant, you wouldn't expect her to be happy with going there and not getting her meal, so why would you expect her to be happy Spend 15 minutes working on a technique each time, to keep leveling up your overall sex life, and aim to get better at least 1% in each area each time!0 comments0
- Episode #156 Austen Alexander on how to battle your way to fitness and successToday's guest is Austen Alexander! Creator. Fitness Enthusiast. Veteran. He is the founder of AMA Marketing and The Battle Bunker. Austen is a California-based digital media producer, host, entrepreneur, fitness enthusiast, and Navy Veteran. He grew up in Florence, Alabama - dropped out of college to join the Navy in 2013 and spent 7 years as Naval Security (MA) working in Harbor Patrol. He merged his passion for fitness and video, and founded AMA Marketing in 2017 during his time in the Navy. Shortly after the Navy, he pursued this full-time, producing commercials, social media shows, and fitness videos for YouTube, Snapchat, Facebook, and other social channels. Here are some key points that I would advise you to concentrate on You can decide to change your life at point of your life. Start now and go for your goals. Austen taught himself to swim using YouTube. It is ok not to know everything and ask for help and look for resources that can help you transform. Goals are unique to you. It is up to you the journey you want to follow in life, stop trying to live someone else's life. There are many different ways to become fit. You don't need to live in the gym to get fit. " You have to give yourself specific goals" What gets measured gets managed. Anything else is just a dream. When you get specific, it becomes a goal that you can achieve. " The body likes to stay comfortable". You need to work through your comfort zone, that voice that says to stay in bed etc. Challenge yourself each day with micro-adversity to build up your resilience each day so when the comfort zone comes calling you aren't listening and can chase your own goals. " It is important to be well rounded" in terms of your general fitness. A key aspect that Austen utilizes to help people succeed is to add in a challenge aspect. How can you challenge yourself and team during workouts etc. Can you add in a punishment, a financial prize etc, something that helps push ourselves against others. Trying different sports etc, will help identify your weak sports in your fitness and health. Once you identify the problems, you can then work on improving these and becoming more more well rounded. Adding in a cognitive challenge to the challenge as well, can really help you learn how not to panic, to stay in the zone and stay focused when you are tiring and not go off kilter like others. The military taught Austen how to avoid ' going into the black ' to avoid being paralyzed by analysis and controlled by adrenaline. This is where the cognitive challenge and pushing yourself in all areas of fitness etc, can really help you improve. Jiu-Jitsu is a great all body exercise. Your training should mimic real life, your training should help you be functionally fit in life and do the things you need to do, like walk up stairs, pick up your kid off the floor and so on. Austen tells his competitors to take the obstacles one step at a time. This is a great tip for life, treat each day as it comes, each obstacle as it comes. not the past, not the future. Be in the present and build yourself today, to do the things you want to do and achieve tomorrow. Start small, and grow. Focus on making, creating and growing and build as you can. There is no rush, the journey is often much more fun than the destination. " Standardise then optimise". You don't need to know everything when you start. There are plenty of amazing resources, many free, that can help you learn the skills that you need to achieve your goals. Being social is a skill that can be learnt. " Be authentic," be yourself, everyone else is taken! Schedule time for connection with your partner, friends and family. Fitness should not be all you have in your life. Be a mentor for others, help others on their journeys too, so their learning curve doesn't need to be as sharp as yours. Never settle, always be looking to improve, and evolve.0 comments0
- Episode #155 Dr. Leah Katz on Mindfulness Practices for Everyday BraveryToday’s guest is Dr. Leah Katz, Ph.D., who is a clinical psychologist practicing in Portland, Oregon. Originally from New York, she completed her doctorate training at Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. While living in New York, Dr. Katz worked at a community clinic where she led several groups, treated individuals and couples in therapy, and taught at Stern College for Women. She currently works in a group practice where she specializes in working with teenagers and women, with a focus on treating anxiety and depression, amongst other things. She utilizes a hybrid of cognitive behavioral, ACT, and mindfulness techniques in her therapy work. Dr. Katz is passionate about girls’ and women’s mental health, and helping women navigate challenges to live deeply connected and fulfilled lives. She writes for Psychology Today and recently published her first book, Gutsy: Mindfulness Practices for Everyday Bravery. You can find her on Instagram @dr.leahkatz, Twitter @drleahkatz, and her website, drleahkatz.com where she shares mental health related tips and insights. Here are some key points that I would advise you to concentrate on: Looking back and evaluating your past is a good thing to do, but don't dwell on it. It is not a weakness to say you need hel, to speak to a doctor and ask for help or to be referred to therapy etc. It is a sign of strength to admit that things are not right and you need help. There are many options available to try and better your mental health. If one treatment modality does not work for you, please do not give up hope and there are many other methods to try. Therapy is a great method for helping the user figure out how to tackle the problem in their own way. Thankfully the stigma on mental health is ending. It is ok to talk about your mental health struggles. There are a lot of online and free resources available to help you on your own journey of healing and betterment. You are not your thoughts. Your thoughts are generated by your brain on the situation, previous experience, what you have seen etc, they are not orders you must obey. You can listen to your thoughts and decide how to act. You are in control. Mindfulness is a great method to help with rumination, stress and anxiety and obtrusive thoughts, depressive moods etc. There is no one fit method for everyone. Something that works for your friend or sibling might not work for you. You just need to look for the right method for you. Looking at your thoughts, feelings and how your body is doing is a great self awareness tool to check in on how you are doing and see if there small clues that you are struggling and you can stop it earlier and not allow it to blow up worse. You could make this a daily ritual. Learn adaptive coping strategies, the best coping strategies will change as your grow, heal and feel better or worse. They may change over time. Again it is OK to ask for help. " Anxiety is a physical response that is not always bad". Anxiety can arise against your own personal life, what causes you anxiety might not be the same as for others. Consider you thoughts, look at them from above them, what is the truth in them, what is causing them to arise, what is the meaning and message behind them. There will be some wonky thoughts, some untruthful and others that are just trying to keep you safe but not helpful. Learn to get in touch with your thoughts and take the lead rather than letting your anxiety etc taking charge. " It is not about avoiding it, it is about accepting it". You can name your emotions, name your fears or anxiety etc, and say 'not now' and it helps create the distance from being you, its a visitor, its not you and you can let it go and act as you wish not controlled by the emotion. Treat yourself as someone you loved, show yourself self-compassion and self-love. " We are all going to make mistakes" and need to " meet ourselves with self-compassion". Talk therapy is fantastic, speaking about your darkness and demons to another, helps lose the power they have over you. " We learn about who we are and how the world views us from our childhood". " There is a very big difference between blame and accountability." Try not to blame but hold people accountable for their actions and the way they deal with you going forward. Identifying where an emotion lives in our body can help identify it when journalling and help understand it better. " Eating, sleeping and movement" are three key areas where incremental changes will massively improve your wellness. Building a personal self-care routine can really help your healing, and building a better future. Set time to sit outside, being outside in nature can really help with depression and anxiety. Time in silence, without devices, phones and other distractions and letting you body, mind and emotions realign is a powerful tool even. Grinding 24/7 is not healthy, you don't live to work, you work to live. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Dr. Leah Katz | Psychologist | Speaker (@dr.leahkatz) " Give yourself permission to say no" and engage with the things that give you true meaning and happiness in life. Stop living life for someone else, find the path you want in life. Stop comparing yourself on social media to others, stop comparing your whole life to someones carefully controlled and edited highlights. A gratitude ritual, where you write out what you are grateful each day, even just three things, can be life changing. By seeing what we are grateful for, you appreciate how many good things are in your life, and you feel more confident and less likely to compare yourself against others. It is not selfish to take alone time, even when you have children. It is far more destructive to lose your sense of self and your true identity. " Change is possible". " Be the change you want to see" if you can't find it in your life.0 comments0
- Episode #154 Patrick 'Mac' McNamara on how to win the battle of life!Today's guest is Patrick McNamara aka Mac! Pat McNamara (Mac) has 22 years of Special Operations experience, 13 of which were in a Special Mission Unit. He has extensive experience in hostile fire/combat zones in the Middle East, and Eastern Europe. He trained individuals at basic and advanced levels of marksmanship and combat tactics with emphasis on the GWOT. Mac was his (Tier One) Unit’s primary advanced pistol and rifle marksmanship instructor for 2 years. In addition, he instructed advanced Close-Quarter Battle Techniques, concealed weapon employment, high speed motorcade and non-motorcade driving techniques, mountain and urban climbing, basic and advanced demolitions, advanced explosive entry techniques, and was the primary hand combat instructor, rewriting the pre-existing POI. Mr. McNamara led this Special Missions Unit on several high alpine, long distance, wilderness foot movements with emphasis on privation. Mr. McNamara led and supervised a highly trained, multi-disciplined special operations team having the highest priority for worldwide deployment. He routinely planned, implemented and conducted real world missions and exercises involving state of the art equipment. While serving as his Unit’s Marksmanship NCO, Mr. McNamara developed his own marksmanship club with NRA, CMP (civilian marksmanship program), and USPSA (United States Practical Shooting Association) affiliations. Mr. McNamara runs monthly IPSC matches and ran semi annual military marksmanship championships to encourage marksmanship fundamentals and competitiveness throughout the Army. He retired five years ago from the Army’s premier hostage rescue unit as a Sergeant Major. Mr. McNamara is the author of TAPS (Tactical Application of Practical Shooting). Here are some key points that I would advise you to concentrate on Pat worked in a variety of units, and became skilled in multi-disciplines - specializing is a sexy thing right now, but working and learning in all areas, lets you build strong foundations for future successes and build knowledge in all areas of your job etc. You are never too late to start. Pat was a late bloomer in wrestling and other things - stop sulking that you never started the sport or activity when you were younger ... you can't change it ... so use that feeling of annoyance to go all in on your new focus and try and level up as much as you can. Your parent's journey does not need to be your own. Neither does your friends of siblings journey or what they think you should do. This is your one chance as 'you', follow your own path, chase your own dreams. You need to balance the parts of you, the nice gentleman, and the warrior inside. If you have an escapism that works for you, such as bird watching, flowers etc, it doesn't matter, if it makes you happy and doesn't hurt anyone, go for it! It's great to look back at regular times and see how far you have come, be appreciative of the journey you have been on, but try and look forward. You can't change the past, but you can make your present better to make the future brighter for you. Pat lost repeatedly when he started wrestling. Instead of letting it beat him up, he dusted himself off and went after it again and kept going until he succeed and it taught him so much! In the military if you fail but don't give up, the military often allow a second chance. Stop beating yourself up over mistakes. Learn from mistakes, grow stronger and try again. Its cliche but true, you only fail when you give up. Give yourself a second chance. Always be reviewing your life and looking for ways to better your life, fix errors, upgrade where possible and chase your dreams. " Hard work sucks and not everyone is cut up for it ... but if you work hard, you will be rewarded in the end." Be humble. Know your strengths but don't boast. Work on your issues and weaknesses, put in the extra work to resolve the issues that arise. Be a good listener and observer, learn, grow and heal, and always be looking for ways to level up. You will fall back to the highest level of your training, not to the level of the situation. Get your sleep right, get your diet on point and build good strong fundamentals and habits, once you have the basics right, you can then start to chase more detailed areas and key skills. Building on having an " Attitude. Aptitude, and a desire to become the best we can be" will change your life. Be the person that others look up to. Kids will mimic their parents and other role models in their life. Be the person, be the change that you want to have in the world or be the person you wished you had when you were younger. Excuses are easy to give yourself for temporary respite but guilt and regret last a lot longer. Use people on social media etc as role models, use them as inspiration and for goals that you wish to achieve and not someone to compare yourself to and feel bad that you aren't there yet. Start small with your changes, don't try and change your life overnight, but make small, simple changes and it will all add up in the end. Your combat chassis, your body, is the most important vehicle you will have it live, like your car which you will give the best fuel possible to, give yourself the best fuel, the best foods etc you can source. Look to make the incremental changes where possible. What gets measured will get managed. Keep a journal, not an obsession with a scale reading. Write out your findings, your measurements and how you feel. Fuck BMI's, they count muscle as a bad thing, ripped rugby players get told they are obese as the muscle weighs more than fat. Concentrate on lifestyle changes, like you can get up stairs easier, you need to use a smaller hole on your belt as your old belt hole is now too big for you. Look for the good changes, not the numbers. Look for ways to find yourself micro-adversity in your life to challenge yourself. We need challenges in our life to succeed. Don't rest on your laurels, as when we stay at the same place, we stagnate if we wait too long. Fear will always be there. It will not go away, it is just your mind trying to send you a message. Top performers have recommended giving your fear a name, talk to it, say thanks, you appreciate the message but you are OK and you are going to do it (obviously after a risk assessment, don't do truly stupid in life!). Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. Learn from your mistakes and add these into your planning, so you don't make the mistakes again. You can feel awful etc but there is always hope. Find the embers of desire and hope in your life, no matter how deep down, look for the forgotten dreams of youth, and let the likes of Mac etc help you get the fire started again. Stop comparing yourself to others. The only person you are in competition with is yourself from yesterday. As Mac says, you know you are winning if you could beat a clone of you from yesterday. Never underestimate what you know, it might be common sense or straightforward to you, but to some it might be almost impossible or seem like magic to you - look at your skillset, can you sell what others need that you can do and they can't to help get a job, be a better team mate etc. No one is coming to save you. You need to become self-reliant. You can't always rely on getting someone in to sort the problems that may arise. Prepare now to do the things you love tomorrow. Prepare today to be safe tomorrow. Please do not wait until something bad happens before you get organised and prepared. Life can change in a matter of minutes, be prepared so when it changes you can adapt with it. " We don't plan to fail ... but we fail to plan".0 comments0
- Episode #153 Jason Khalipa on how to become truly fit in your life!Today's guest is Jason Khalipa! Jason is the founder of NCFIT, a global fitness company with brick and mortar locations, corporate wellness, and digital services. He is a 3x Team USA CrossFit member and CrossFit Games Champion. A Pediatric Cancer Advocate after his daughter was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2016, host of the Effort Over Everything Podcast, and BJJ Purple Belt. Great tip below: Here's a great little mindset hack from Jason to start us off: Here are some key points that I would advise you to concentrate on He is the founder of NC Fit. True fitness is more than what you can produce in the gym. " True fitness helps you live freely and fully". True fitness should never inhibit what you want to do in your life. Cross training = having fun. Try and incorporate a lot of sports and activities in your life, especially your children's. Sport and fitness can help you learn growth, overcoming difficult circumstances, teamwork and so much more. You can learn as much from losing as you will from winning. True growth in fitness is found through passion in your life and a supportive community around it. Fitness training is always evolving, there are many different types of fitness methods that you can adopt, to meet your interests and passions. You should be looking to add in exercises that have a real world carryover. A three day weekly workout plan is the best plan for most beginners. BJJ is a great sport as it covers a lot of the 3d movement patterns in BJJ training style such as shrimping, squatting, pulling things off the floor etc. Hill sprints are a great way of building up your cardio and improving your conditioning. Getting into shape takes time. Start slow, build-up and you will get there. Your goals will dictate how long, how often and hard you will need to work out. You should take baby steps to get into shape. " If you go from 0 -100 you will probably burnout." A coach should adapt your training to meet your goals, not their selling quota or copying and pasting programmes for everyone. 'As many reps as possible' and 'every minute on the minute' exercises are great tools to challenge a user in a variety of areas. Your mental strength can be the deciding factor on whether you succeed or not. Key athletes like Jason utilise a mindset coach to help them become mentally stronger and disciplined. It is ok not to know how to do something, or address a weakenesses, and a key similarities I notice, is that top performers will find out the key people they need to excel themselves in a particular area, they are always looking to network and grow themselves and their skills. " Fitness compels us to do better, be better and live better". " Prepare today to do the things you love tomorrow." Jason adopts AMRAP (as-many-reps-as-possible) in his life, his mantra is to " be present, focused and get after it" and " effort over everything". Having a mantra that helps keep you focused and moving in life is perfect and Jason's is a key philosophy to try and see how it changes your life. Jason utilises micro-check-ins to his life. He looks at his life in all areas, and makes changes as he goes so he never goes too far in the wrong direction, and with regular check-ins, Jason can notice problems and change them quickly so they do not affect him in any way. " Move fast, breathe slow" to dial in your technique for success. You need to build your self aware and know when you attention is wandering. Use Jason's micro-check-ins to monitor your work and auto-correct quickly when you see things going off track so it doesn't cause too many problems or need too much effort to rectify it. Jason identifies the hot/cold plunge shower/bath routine really helps build his mental strength, and his ability over come adversity. There are sports that let you compete on your own against yourself, compete by yourself against an opponent or as part of a team. Find the sport, workout method or mix of sports that work out best for you, fitness is your journey, find what makes you happy and fit in life. Use trial lessons and taster sessions to try sports and gyms etc, without needing to outlay a lot of money first. You can find friends for life in a sports team, in a gym, at cross-fit or BJJ etc, by starting a sport etc you will find like minded people who want to better themselves and have similar interests as you. Look at your nutrition and identify what you can do to take baby steps and slowly remove the bad foods and replace them with healthier options. " Align expectations with your goals" for the best chance at success. " Fitness should allow you to live the live you want". Make fitness an exercise a system, an outlet, an part of your life, but it shouldn't be your whole life. Fitness is a great way to teach your kids about life and inspire them to be the best versions of themselves possible. The best way to encourage your kids is to show up, be there for them, start slow and let them find their own path every day.0 comments0
- Episode #152 Lucas Handerker on how hypnosis can change your life!Today's guest is Lucas Handerker! Lucas Handwerker is a Certified Clinical Hypnotist, TEDx Speaker, Spiritual Counselor, Writer, and Speaker. He has been transforming the lives of his clients for the last 10 years. When he's not working with clients from across the globe, he's writing, or presenting his unique healing presentations all over the country. Lucas' goal is to do the most good for the most number of people. Here are some key points that I would advise you to concentrate on Hypnosis might be the tool that you need to finally help with that issue you have been struggling with that just won't go away. The more you read and experience in life, the more extensive the skills and abilities you can develop. The unconscious mind is the programming that dictates how you act, what you think, how you react to certain situations etc, and it is this part that needs to be worked on to truly change who you are as a person. Hypnosis can allow you to access your unconscious mind and for it to be worked on. There are many styles of hypnosis and hypnotists, so you should look for someone that has a style of teaching and working with you that makes you feel comfortable and happy, and you will be amazed at the changes you can make. " Our very existence is consciousness ... we are consciousness" " Our dreams are a stew of our reality ... and the language of our unconscious mind" We can all be hypnotized by entering trance state. You can't just think your way out of a problem or bad behavior. You need to change the behavior at the level that the behavior is at, so conscious fixes won't help change an unconscious issue. We are shaped by our family and friends, we create an identity out of our experiences and how we interact with reality. A lot of problems and behavior issues are caused by people living using old beliefs and thought patterns. Putting someone into a trance state is not like a light switch, no matter how light entertainment TV shows try and portray it. Our consciousness changes state throughout the day. You can work with Lucas's remotely, and in your PJs on your couch! Audio guiding can help you relax more and not feel unnerved by having to go somewhere and try and be comfortable closing your eyes with a stranger in a strange place. " The language of our unconscious mind is in images and story" " Unless you go to the root cause of a problem you are just covering it with direct suggestions" which can just tinker with the problem and make it better for a short period, but it is likely to come back, sometimes stronger, as the root cause is not dealt with. Traditional medication tends to deal with the symptoms of an issue rather than dealing with the actual problem, and tackling the issue and not just dealing with what the issue is causing in your life. Look at healing as a stop on your path in life. You are not weak to ask for help, to try and fix yourself. It is a powerful thing to decide you are not happy and want to change your life. True deep change can be found quickly, when the actual is being worked on, not just numbing the pain with anti-depressants and the like. Transforming the problem is much better and more effective at fixing an issue than destroying it. People struggle with Anxiety as they frame it as a noun and not a verb. Look at the feelings in your mind and body - try and decide what purpose they are serving and what lesson or message they want you to learn. A lot of the patterns, beliefs and behaviors we have is our unconscious mind trying to keep us safe. However, these were helpful when we were younger most likely, but they rarely serve us as we age and grow. Again Focus on TRANSFORMING the problem area, rather than trying to destroy it! Learn to understand it, heal it and make it an ally to you and befriend it. Your dreams can show the emotions you are holding within yourself and not dealing with them. " Our beliefs shape our reality in the world." Beliefs can stay around if your unconscious minds perceives a benefit from keeping it around. How we talk about our problems, helps to solidify it in our minds and what we believe about ourselves and our identity, regardless if it is true or not. 'I am' statements can lock them in, so be careful what you say - 'I am an angry person' (bad!) is very different to 'I experience anger sometimes in my day but I am a calm person on the whole' (good!). How you feel about something can make it part of your identity and you can start to identity with it - eg I did something bad so I am a bad person. How you feel about your emotions and past can help shape your present and affect what you can do in the future. " People have deep unconscious troubles when they repress what they are experiencing or repress part of themselves" When feeling anxious, look at what is hiding under the anxiety, and try and deal with that, such as shame, guilt etc - the anxious feeling is there to try and hide you from dealing with it. " Most people want to be free of pain but won't change" " You can do the difficult thing or live a life of difficulty" "... feelings tend to be the origin" what you feel is what you tend to think. Lucas focuses on the emotions first as they influence your thoughts, your behaviors and so on. We are not parts, like a computer, our conscious is like a tree, it is made up of things like limbs, branches, roots etc but one whole entity. People can be frightened and resistant to make deep level change, as it can be scary, but true change comes when you are ready to deal with the true issues and it will lead to long term change. " If you want to really change something and heal I don't think numbing yourself to the discomfort of the symptom is really a way of doing that" " You can only repress your emotions for so long" before things escalate and get worse " sooner or later it will come out somewhere else". Trying to cover up the pain is a never ending game, and all you will do is try and repress them, hide from them and escape them. Working with others and sharing within a group, can help you share, grow and learn with one another.0 comments0

For the latest news and information, follow Case Kenny on Instagram @case.kenny. Here are some key points that I would advise you to concentrate on You can change your mind at anytime. You can adopt a new mindset whenever you want and change your life at any point you want. Your starting point does not need to be your end destination. Mindfulness is a key skill that you need to work on. It can let you get a control over your emotions, quieten the mind and think clearer. Play and creativity isn't just for kids, allowing your inner child to continue to keep playing into adulthood can help you create rather than consume, and build a life and legacy that few will by being creative when you encounter problems and encounter resistance in your life. There is much more to life than just your job, you are not what you do, you are not your job title. We are shaped by the media we consume and the people we interact with, choose wisely. We can use social media to grow, network and learn, or we can judge, compare and rue our lives if we view it negatively, choose wisely! Questions the assumptions in your life, question rather than believe, be proactive in your thinking rather than reactive. Live the story in your life that you want to live, not your family or friends or the society you are part of. Create rather than consume. You need to find a catalyst in your life to force this change. Regret is the worst feeling to encounter, fear of regret can be a powerful motivator. Act from a want to change, not a fear, be motivated by the fear of regret. Your story is a personal journey, not a particular place or position given by another. Journalling is a powerful tool, it lets you reflect, go deep, and and review thoughts, feelings and actions. You can change anytime. Remember that. You just need to have the mental strength to do it. It is a reflection of you levelling up, to find something that is better suited you and not going down because you are using someone's else script for life. Learn to love yourself. Speak to yourself like you would speak to someone you loved. You should have the best relationship with yourself first before anyone else. You have control over your life, you decide what you do, how you react and what you accept in your life. Stop tying your happiness to the adjectives you use to describe yourself with. " Changing your life comes down to the questions you ask yourself" Power moves can be life changing for you. Learn to fire yourself up, use the fear of regret and use the power move to tap into your inner fire, so you can be proud of yourself regardless of the outcome, you at least followed your true path and wishes. We know when we are not being true to ourselves. Impostor syndrome and fear will always e there, you just need to learn the messages it is teaching you, accept it will be there, even give it a name, and just power move your way through. It's only a failure if you give up, trying is always a win. Trying is cool! Music is a powerful tool, picking the right music can help your training, learning, creating by opening you up and out of your head and into your true self, your zen state. One of the most important questions you can ask yourself is 'Why?', why you think that way, why you accept that action from your partner, why you want to buy this or that, and so on. Once you question yourself, you begin to question yourself and if you are living your own path or that of someone else. Look at mistakes and errors as a chance to learn. Use your self control to see failure as a lesson learned rather than a reflection of who you are as a person. Act to be proud of yourself. Learn from the mistakes and your bad days. Find your own self-worth, focus on what you can control and smash your goals. You don't need a partner, child, job etc to be complete. Being single is a superpower, you can achieve whatever you want in life and not need anyone else to validate you or give you permission.0 comments0
- Episode #150 Matt Booth on how to design the future you want in life!Today’s guest is Matt Booth! West Coast meets Far East in artist and jewelry designer Matt Booth’s aesthetic. While deployed to Asia as a U.S. Infantry Marine, Booth found himself overwhelmed by the rich culture he experienced there. After returning to the States, Booth was introduced to the thriving silver scene in Los Angeles while working at the Whisky a Go-Go on Sunset Boulevard. It was this fusion of Asian influence and an obsession with custom jewelry that inspired Booth to create his own brand in 2003. With the vision of an artist and the tenacity of a Marine, Matt Booth began blending the traditional Asian characters and motifs he first encountered during his tour of duty with a heavy dose of Los Angeles grit to create the conceptual backbone of Room101. In 2009, he realized the launch of Room101 cigars in the early stages of the development of the craft segment of the premium tobacco space worldwide, earning Booth time in grade in this premium catogory as a brand disruptor and in 2017 once again in the craft spirit space with the launch of Room101 gin. As Booth’s vision constantly evolves, the Room101 Brand has become the go-to for exceptional, custom-made pieces and craft lifestyle goods making Room101 a global yet underground lifestyle brand unlike anoy other in market today. In this interview, we discuss: The art of creativity. Building an authentic brand. How he has been so successful compared to other brands. And so much more. Here are some key points that I would advise you to concentrate on: If you can think it, you can create it. Just because something doesn't exist now, doesn't mean it can't, all the great things we live with were once a thought in someone's head. Easy money is not worth the hassle, building a brand that you are proud of is the ultimate aim, and the money and fans will come naturally. It is not where you are now that matters, it is where you can go, and the journey that you can go on that matters. You can decide to change your story right now and can make the changes you need straight away. This is your life and you can decide the route to go. Matt always watched the top performers to see the habits, mindset and skills that he needed to improve. What can you take from the top performers in your industry, job etc to level up right now? Find your passion, something that gets you out of your bed and energized to chase your goals every day. We all have a passion burning within us that you can go on a journey with. Look at life as a journey of discovery and learning as you go, never settle and never be satisfied. People don't just buy your product, they buy into your story, your message, who you are and your approach to life. There are plenty of ways to make easy money in business, but building an authentic brand to you and creating authentic products is the easiest way to success as a whole. Look at Matt's great example! The fear of starting and chasing your own dream will always be there. You need to have faith in your brand and the direction you are travelling in. Fear is just a message from your brain to keep you safe, look at the message and what its telling you and put in safeguards where possible but take the message it is telling you and keep on your journey. Our sense of fear is still coming from the caveman days, a lot of the mental programming no longer serves us. You can't know everything when you start and need to find those that can help you. Asking for help is not a weakness, admitting you need help and sourcing the right people is a sign of strength. Learning to connect with those who can help is a strong skill to have and will help you throughout life. Design products that you would want to buy yourself. You need to create everyday. Learn to love the process of creating on your products, your brand and self everyday. Build a brand that can attract all kinds of people, build a brand that attracts people to being part of your tribe and not just using the products. Market your products as an extension of yourself and the brand, and the community will follow. Focus on making quality, not the sales. People will buy quality and authenticity. There will be peaks and troughs, there will be demands, challenges and struggles - learn to love the journey, not the designation. When things like COVID hit, there is always a way to change and refocus your business to help keep making sales. Look after your people and they will look after the business. Always be in a state of learning and evolution. Learn to trust your gut on decisions, and that you are living truthfully and authentically. Always take notes to look back, review where you have come from and use it to fix mistakes and shape where you are going in the future. Taking rest and a chance to catch your breath is needed and will help your creativity and ability to go on this journey. Talent will take you so far, hard work will get you success.0 comments0
- Episode #149 David Jackson on how to breathe your way to success!Today’s guest is David Jackson! David Jackson is a Master Instructor with the Oxygen Advantage working now as a breathwork coach. He is a former professional rugby player, accredited UKSCA Strength & Conditioning coach, NASM performance enhancement & corrective exercise specialist on a mission to make breathwork a normal part of our everyday lives. Having retrained his own breathing after a brain injury in 2013 forced him to retire from professional rugby, he's passionate about helping others change the way they breathe to improve the way they feel, move and perform. He believes that in breathwork there is something for everyone, having worked with professionals seeking better stress management or those suffering with anxiety to professional athletes looking to improve performance and everything in between. David knows how your breath can impact all areas of our body and mind, which is why he is so passionate about helping people use breathwork to fulfil their true potential. Having felt the benefits personally, he wants to share it with others. Please note there is a short part of a couple of minutes or so that the sound quality isn't great. In this interview, we discuss: How your breathing affects your health as a whole. Why breath-work can be a secret sauce to win more, think better and live healthier. How to level up your breathing right now. And so much more. Here are some key points that I would advise you to concentrate on Always remember your current point need not always be your end point - you can change at any time. When one door closes, another opens and you can continue on a path you maybe hadn't considered. Always be chasing that next level in your life, to keep that handbrake off in your life. You can train your breathing like any other skill. An improvement in your breathing can enhance your living systems and cognitive behavior with some work. Your breathing is a key system that keeps you alive, it can be dealt with by the body on auto-pilot but if you train your breathe more automatically you can become more efficient and skilled. At the moment, there are a lot of athletes who are not working on improving their breathing system, so take advantage of their short-comings and upgrade the key performance area now before it becomes part of the mainstream training methodologies in all sports. Shallow breathing or panting is never a good thing, normally a sign of distress and panic. Better breathing can help you take in more oxygen each breath to help fuel you brain and movement. Better breathing can allow you to deal more efficiently with CO2. Better breathing can create better cognitive function. Better breathing can help you relax and reduce the level of stress you are feeling. Better breathing can be learnt at any age and will benefit everyone. By breathing quietly, it tends to make you breath slowly. Close your mouth, put the tongue to the top of the mouth and breath quietly the nose will change your life! Your brain will always go the path of least resistance. Just because something is automatic doesn't mean its optimal. Breathing can be affected by the size of breath, the time held, the speed of inhaling and exhaling, how it is expelled etc. You need to breathe into your belly, not your chest. Learning to breathe better shouldn't be complicated. Shallow breathing will not help you catch your breath better than long slow breaths. Being seated or stressed can have a big impact on your body and in turn the quality of your breathing. Your posture and how you sit will affect the quality of your breathing and that in turn will affect how your health and body responds to the quality of breathing and quality of air you take in. Stress causes will always be there, so we need to build a skill to deal with them, and better breath control and quality of breathing is the key. Exercise is a great method to check the quality of your breathing. You shouldn't be out of breath going up stairs!0 comments0
- Episode #148 Adam Jablin on how to Become Your Own Superhero after Hitting Rock Bottom!Today’s guest is Adam Jablin! Adam Jablin is a best selling author, Inspirational Keynote Speaker, Transformational Life Coach and Spiritual and Recovery Mentor. In 2006 Adam got clean and sober, which unleashed many gifts he had hidden inside. During the most successful years of his company, Adam was in the grips of alcoholism and addiction. HE KNOWS WHAT IT'S LIKE BE POWERLESS. His family intervened and Adam's spiritual journey began. While running a multi-million dollar company, Adam dedicated himself to helping others and showing them the path out of their problems and into the SOLUTION. Later, Adam helped sell that business for 9 figures with his loved ones. NOW he wants to help YOU. Adam's teachings show people THE WAY to become the HERO of their own lives. In this interview, we discuss: How to break down your old internal programming that is holding you back in life. How to find your inner Super-Power in life. How to find the mentors you need to change. And so much more. Here are some key points that I would advise you to concentrate on We are all on our own heroes journey, no matter your starting point, you are the hero of your own story. The heroes journey will allow us to find out who we are as people. The heroes journey will help you find out your passion in life. A true apology to someone is a change in behavior. Society and family will put pressure on you to follow a certain path in life, but part of the journey is finding the inner confidence to find your own path in life. There are a lot of ways to deal with pressure and problems in life, and alcohol and other substances will never help in the long run. It takes true courage to admit that you need help to someone. It is not a weakness to say that you need help, but shows a deep understanding of yourself and a strength of character to ask for help and support to change. There are many great programs that can help you overcome something you are struggling with, a simple Google search for addiction programs and your local area will show you some great local resources. It does not matter your starting point, you can change your life. Adam is a great example of someone that we can transform our life, no matter what happened. Fear will always be there but fear is just a message from your brain to tell you that there is something to prep for and understand, so look for the message behind fear, rather than running from it. The societal idea of an alcoholic and addict as a down and out, in a gutter isn't correct. There are a lot of high-performing addicts in the world. You can have a problem in life no matter how successful you are to others. You know yourself if there is a problem with yourself. Noone is thinking and judging you, it is a belief that we have - they are too busy thinking of their own life. Stop letting others control you and what you do in life! To change will take constant action in your life, it is always in motion. Knowledge is power, there are great examples of how to change your life available in every book store - Google is a great, free resource used to find the how, once you know the why you need to change in life. Always look to learn, find people who will inspire you, push you and motivate you to go to higher and higher levels in your life. You need to learn to trust your gut, you need to listen to the internal voice and decide if the voice is following old beliefs or is giving you the best advice for you possible. You don't know it all, so find the coaches that you need to learn, to grow and evolve your skills. When acting, think about it - is this helping you level up your life? If not, change the course of action to better meet your goals. You need to override the BS programming that is remaining for the older version of you, to truly change in life. The old programming is trying to keep you safe, but not to change - you need to make big changes to break through the older belief patterns that are holding you back. You need to invest in yourself to see an amazing return in your progression. All the greats have to 'put up or shut up'! Stop chasing the significance in your life, instead chase your dreams. Stop chasing love from others and instead learn to love yourself. You can slip up but that is not a failure, look at each mistake as a learning experience and how you can become better from it. You only fail when you give up totally. With the internet, the world is a smaller place, stop using the internet to waste time, use it to advance yourself. Take action. Start today. Do something. Don't go crazy, but just take that first step to change their life!0 comments0
- Episode #147 Erick Rheam on Taming the "Beast" & Rising Above ChaosToday’s guest is Erick Rheam. Erick Rheam is a veteran who became fascinated by the field of human dynamics and what motivates us as human beings while in deployment. In his new book, Rise Above Chaos, Erick is leveraging years of research and his own life story to explain step by step how to rediscover your path to significance and inner peace, no matter how busy or chaotic your life has become - AKA how to tame that inner chaos he calls the "beast". In this interview, we discuss: The keys to human dynamics. How to find the purpose of your life by finding your passions. How to overcome the beast and chaos in your life. And so much more! Here are some key points that I would advise you to concentrate on Human dynamics are the key to bonding with one another. Networking and connecting can be a skill to learn on its own. Life should be a journey of discovery and not a destination, always look at life with fresh eyes and how you can progress daily. Sorry to say but no one is caring what you are doing or judging you - stop worrying and instead push for your dreams. Time will pass anyway, don't let what anyone else thinks stop you from achieving what you want in life. " People struggle with perspective" and rarely see the bigger picture in their life. Be grateful for what you have. You need a strong network to help motivate, and inspire you. People get offended easily - Erick recommends you evaluate the reason behind how someone reacts, rise above taking it personally and see the bigger picture. We are all rudderless when younger as we find our way in life. However, as you age you need to grow and evolve to avoid being lost in the chaos of your life. We all need a purpose in our life - if you don't have something constructive in your life, then the 'Beast' will take over and lead you astray. We all have superpowers within ourselves, we have unique skills that makes us unique and valuable, you need to find yours. " Your why is discovered as you live within your passions and you align with your superpower". On this journey you will find your purpose in life. To find your purpose you need to take action in life. However, don't over think it and consider everything permanent - you can make mistakes, change your path, change how you want to move in life. You are not bound on one path of action or another. Resistance and being fearful can be seen as good things, they will arise when you are moving forward in life. You need to ensure that the people in your life, your accountability partners, offer value to you and your life. The Beast will always be there, you need to learn to understand it, accept it and move on. It won't go away but that doesn't mean you need to give it any power over you in your life. You can setup your life to overcome the chaos that you are living in. You need to be honest and open with who you surround yourself with in life - these people should help you move out of chaos in life, and grow as a person. You may need to cut off people who are holding you back or in chaos, and let you know when you are acting in your blind-spots in your life. Growth in life is a journey, don't expect true change to happen overnight, but it is a journey worth undertaking. You need to focus on your top three priorities in your daily life, clarify exactly what we need to do and chase each to completion - the other jobs etc can wait. You need to know the story of your life, or society, work or family will write it for you instead. There are seasons in life. The bad things will pass, yet so will the good things. You need to focus on your journey, realise the season you are in life, and what you need to do to keep growing daily.0 comments0
