Not only do Muriel and Nick have such wonderful and pleasant voices to listen to, but they also have such good chemistry. One of my favorite things is just listening to them playing off each other.

Love this podcast!
I found this podcast a month or so ago and am now binging the show from the beginning. Muriel is awesome and funny. Nick’s recaps are the best, especially the one for Buddy Jacobson.

Absolutely awesome
Okay, so no lie. I found this podcast while hunting for a specific case so I could get out of reading the book about it for my book club. Out of about 4 or 5 podcasts that covered this case, this was the only one I could stomach and wasn’t annoying. Well it turns out I LOVE IT. I have now subscribed. I love Muriel! She is so funny and her voice is easy to listen to. Same with Nick. Thanks for this podcast guys! I love it.

If you like funnies and spookies!
If you like to laugh and love true crime, look no further because this podcast is perfect for you! I started listening about a month ago and I’ve blown through the series so fast because I just can’t wait to hang out with Nick and Muriel. As I listen to Muriel’s well researched and written script, I can literally visualize her massive grin as she tells “Nicky” while he listens in horror and outrage. These two crack me up and I seriously feel like we are all besties. 100000/10 recommend, I can’t get enough! Love you guys xx

My favorite
My favorite true crime podcast EVER! My best friend and I listen to all their episodes and we got so obsessed we subscribed to their patreon (which we had never used before). Well worth it. This podcast is the perfect combination of interesting reporting and funny lighthearted banter (without being obnoxious or gimmicky which some other true crime pods are). I laugh out loud while listening. Highly highly recommend.

Hidden Gem
Muriel’s Murders is a hidden gem in the true crime podcast realm. Muriel does an amazing job with her research and flow of her episode scripts. Nick did an amazing job on the latest episode Eva Coo. This is a must listen. Nick could also play Jack Black’s younger brother with his current beard style.

Hold on to your butts!
Normally, I have a really hard time getting into podcasts with multiple people. They always either get off topic too much during the actual story, or they spend the first 45 minutes talking about personal things. Nick and Muriel are not only hilarious, but they stay on topic ridiculously well - without making it feel like a chore. It’s just an honest to goodness funny take on something that’s so horrible, if we didn’t laugh, we’d all go crazy. I started listening last week at work and I can’t believe I’m already caught up. 😭 Y’all keep this third shifter sane!

MY FAVSSS
Muriel and Nick are the BEST!! I love their banter and how well they tell stories. They literally get me through my stay-at-home mom life with 3 kids under 3! I literally feel like I’m sitting right there in their living room talking with them. I love that they don’t use too much profanity, but when they do it’s perfect! 😂I’ve been listening to them for a while and just can’t get enough! If you aren’t a patron yet, then you are missing out!! So thank you soooo much Nick and Muriel!! I love you guys!!

This is a great and detailed podcast
I came across this show while looking for more info about Candace Mossler. This was the only podcast that came up as having done now than 20-30min recap of the murder trial. I was pleasantly surprised to find out this hilarious couple had a three episode, detailed account of this socialites life and murder trial. I have since binged the rest and haven’t been disappointed. If you enjoy fun banter between the hosts and lots of crimes and murderers you’ve never heard of, this is def the podcast for you. It’s really well researched and they offer tons of context and interesting bits about the lives and places where these crimes take place. Keep up the great work Nick and Muriel. I am a fan and look forward to latest episode.

Too Much FUN!
What a great podcast. I can HEAR the smile on Muriel’s face as she sets the scene for the juicy episode of the week. The tone of her delivery puts me in mind of friends huddling together for a round of gossip. Nick is the perfect “Greek Chorus,” with his enthusiasm, questions, and hilarious remarks, meaning that he’s the mouthpiece for us listeners. Their rapport is gloriously entertaining. This podcast is a trip!

Muriel's Murders
Love this podcast. The research is exellent. They cover little-known yet fascinating murders. Nick and Muriel have a great and funny dynamic. Unlike so many podcast hosts who seem to think they are funny and that the audience wants to hear mindles banter about unrelated topics at the beginning or throughout the show, Nick and Muriel are actually funny, but they jump right into the topic, and generally keep their banter to the topic of the show, sprinkled with just enough personal information to make them endearing. They also both have good voice quality, which is also not the case with man y other true crime hosts.

These two have a great comedic dynamic, and the stories are really interesting! I feel immediately engaged and entertained throughout each episode. If I could give this podcast 10 stars, I would. Muriel and Nick make murder so much fun. The stories are super interesting and intriguing and Nick and Muriel’s banter back-and-forth is hysterical.Just like potato chips, beer, or chocolate, you can’t listen to just one. Please don’t ever stop recording these. Such incredible, funny entertainment during this nutty time in history has been great. I highly recommend this podcast to any fans of murder podcasts or documentaries. Muriel and Nick are the best!!!

Love this podcast!
I found this podcast after Nick promoted it on Lizard People. His hype for Muriel was so genuine and cute that I had to check out Muriel’s Murders. They are hilarious together and have a wonderful dynamic. Muriel is a great story teller and her passion for true crime palpable. My only critique is that I wish they’d make merch that said “Hold on to your butts” or “Hold on to your butt, Nicky”. (Muriel’s unintentional catchphrase for the podcast).

Muriel is so cool!
I’ve listened to a lot of historical and true crime podcasts and I think out of all of them, Muriel has been the best, most stand out story teller. I think she’s incredibly adept at weaving a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat in addition to leaving clues and details that seem like just extra info, but come back in an important way later. In my opinion she also does really thorough research with fact checking! Which is not something every true crime podcast can say! Nick is hilarious and his and Muriel’s chemistry is amazing to listen to. I also genuinely appreciate the viewpoint of someone who doesn’t like true crime, cause if you are someone who enjoys it you might lose yourself and get numb to what it all actually means. Just an awesome podcast overall! I’ve binged all the episodes and can’t wait for more!

My New Favorite True Crime Podcast!!
So happy to have found this amazing true crime podcast! Love the dynamic of the married hosts, reminds me of trying to tell my own significant other a story 🤦♀️ but in the best way! The stories are always so well researched and told with such delight and humor, but I also appreciate the sensitivity to the victims that they both show which gets lost a lot of times on other true crime podcasts. Well done, to Nick and Muriel, I am a huge fan and plan to support the Patreon next!

There is something so soothing about Muriel’s voice, I love listening to her tell tales. The dynamic between Muriel and Nick is on point, relatable, entertaining, and often funny. I relate to Nick’s position because I like to believe I don’t enjoy true crime but also relate to Muriel because I can’t stop reading, listening, and talking about it.

Great true crime podcast
I listen to Morbid, crime junkie, Bailey Sarian etc. but what I like about this podcast is that Muriel talks about crimes that I haven’t heard of and Nick’s reactions are the best. The kind you want that awkward friend who doesn’t listen to true crime to react with hahaha! The conversation flows every single time. And Nick will always have some sort of awesome explanation as to why certain things happen that can get pretty deep. Overall it’s the best combo and I have been enjoying this podcast for a few weeks now.

Great Perspective
I enjoy true crime but have a lot of mixed feelings about listening to it because it feels weird to base entertainment on real suffering. I feel like Muriel is respectful in the way she explains things, and Nick’s gentle heart helps me remember that these aren’t just stories, but people's lives. Love these two tons.

Just Amazing!
This podcast is just amazing. The stories Muriel highlights are so interesting and incredibly well researched. She really paints a picture of the time and the place. I very rarely have any questions that go unanswered. This is also in part thanks to Nick’s curiosity and his questions along the way. These two are hilarious and have such great chemistry. It makes it too easy to listen to episode after episode. If you love true crime and want to hear about about wild stories that are well researched and funny, this is the show for you!

Great new true crime podcast!
Muriels murders is a great podcast for anyone who can’t get enough of true crime. Muriel does an *amazing* job of researching, so you’re definitely gonna get a lot of interesting and well-thought out content (great for me, because I like to stream them while I drive to work!). They’re both funny, but it’s not a lot of personal back and forth, which I appreciate - they get right to the good stuff :) . There have been episodes on subjects I haven’t heard of before, which is also great for those who are looking for new and engaging stories! Also, Nick does hella sick cartoons to accompany the episodes, and the intro music is perfect for the show.

Always look forward to Muriel’s Murders
Hooked from the first episode I listened to! From Subway franchisees to mob enforcers, Muriel speaks to the core of our fascination with murder stories… How does a normal person turn into a killer? This is a collection of grisly stories served with curiosity and wry humor, and peppered with a healthy dose of shock and disbelief from Nick. Muriel’s Murders episodes are consistently good from start to finish and I always look forward to the next one.

Absolute Perfection!
Muriel and Nick are awesome in everything they do and their murder podcast is no different. I am new to the true crime game, but it has sparked a true interest, and I’m always excited to come back each week and see what is in store. As too comments about it being political, there is no mention of anything of that sorts. People are always quick, to post negative things, that aren’t even true, and should be taken with a grain of salt.

I love the crimes Muriel features. She’s also an excellent story teller! Nick always adds new dimensions to the story by breaking down the characters to their core motivations. I ❤️ Nick & Muriel
Truly just pure joy listening to this podcast. To be perfectly honest, I’ve always been really wary of true crime podcasts and think they are often done in poor taste. That is NOT the case with Nick and Muriel— they are so genuine, funny, and respectful, and their personalities, opinions and world views are what make this podcast interesting and fun to listen to regularly. I have always been a fan of Hella In Your Thirties, and whatever their next venture is, I will gladly follow and listen. I listened to a few episodes that were alright but others were annoyingly political in a way that made me feel alienated from the creators and disinterested in the content of the podcast. I’m with Nick. I’m not big on true crime, but the way Muriel crafts a story- you can’t help but get hooked! I just binged the first 8 episodes while driving cross country from Las Vegas to Indiana. The Best Historical True Crime Podcast
This is a great balance of analysis and history. The Frank Llloyd Wright episode is especially epic. Muriel’s retelling of these historical crimes is soothing and intriguing at the same time. Nick’s contribution of editing and production is really great. As a storytelling team, this couple is without compare. They truly honor the dead in these stories without adding any undue sensationalism. The research is solid and when exact information is unavailable leaving interpretation up to the listener is satisfying. Thanks for the additional podcast Muriel and Nick!!

I love this podcast. I found it through an ad on the True crime and cocktails podcast. The chemistry between the hosts is so infectious. Muriel’s story telling is great. - Muriel's Murders May 17 · 1h 20m 15. Henry Lee Lucas: Part 5Henry ends, and then Muriel tells us how he began. It ain’t pretty, but it’s the finale and there are fireworks galore - the disturbing kind of fireworks that kinda look like mutilated animals, broken homes, lost kids, and injustice served. Stick around and find out if you and Nick are thinking about the same thing at the very end, and see if you can sneak “confabulation” into your vocabulary. It’s a scary episode and we have to have some fun and games, right? This is it. The fifth and final part of our Henry Lee Lucas epic. All five parts available now. - Don KingIconic boxing promoter Don King is a living legend, unbelievable success, killer, and outrageous nightmare. He came up in the mob infested numbers game of Cleveland, booked Marvin Gaye and Muhammad Ali at his very first event, lived a life of true luxury, and played a part in setting Michael Jackson on fire. Muriel does the deed and tells Nick all about it. This episode (Season One, Episode 36) originally aired 12/8/21... crazy to think we've been doing this podcast for just about three years. Anyways... we've got our second Muriel's Murders multi-part epic dropping VERY SOON in its entirety. Thanks for the patience. We love you very much. - The Saitama Dog Lover MurdersJake Adelstein's book "Tokyo Vice: An American Reporter On The Police Beat In Japan" serves as the main source and inspiration for this story of serial killers, wild animals, Yakuza, and the delicate balance of journalists-cops-and-criminals in 1990s Tokyo. This crime is weirdly obscure, we hope you're into what we put together here for you. Unlocking the full episode is the greatest possible way to support Muriel's Murders. - 1. The Bitter Blood Murders: Part 1Muriel plants the roots of the Sharpe family tree in North Carolina and we get all the dirt on the beginnings of a bonafide Southern Dynasty. Springing from a soil of the American Civil War, the Sharpes had a ton of surviving children - each accomplished and impressive in their own right with the women in the family achieving history-making professional successes. Two of these woman have children who end up hooking up (first cousins) and wind up exploding in a guns, ammo and vitamin-filled Chevy Blazer - but that’s not until 1985 and Muriel has a lot of ground to cover before we get there. Before the ‘80s, as covered in Part One, the Sharpes only had one gun-related murder in the family. Besides that, the biggest scandal was one of the daughters marrying a Catholic. All that and much more awaits you, dear listener, here in Part One. Our Five-Part series is based on the 1988 book “Bitter Blood: A True Story of Southern Family Pride, Madness and Multiple Murder” by Jerry Bledsoe. This case is often called The Bitter Blood Murders and is sometimes discovered by learning about Susie Sharpe Newsome and Fritz Klenner. All Five Parts of this Muriel’s Murders epic is available now. - Muriel's Murders Feb 15 · 1h 21m 2. The Bitter Blood Murders: Part 2Abusive and paranoid behavior starts to creep in as Susie Sharpe Newsome divorces her (maybe) mobbed-up husband Tom and takes her two young sons on an unhinged, poorly planned move to Taiwan where she is (maybe) hunted by spies. Muriel also injects us with the history of Susie’s uncle Dr. Fredrick Klenner who is a big fan of guns, racism, conspiracy theories, and mega dosing patients with vitamins to (maybe) cure their (maybe) diseases. Then first cousins start making some late night visits to each other. Enter Fritz Klenner. This is Part Two - so please go back and listen to Part One first if you haven’t yet. - 3. The Bitter Blood Murders: Part 3When the murders rain, they pour. We dig into all the beefs, petty and not-so-petty, surrounding Tom’s parents Chuck and Dolores Lynch and his sister Janie Lynch. We get a better understanding of what Susie Sharpe Newsome and Fritz Klenner are up to behind closed doors in the unsafe confines of their hoarders den. Then the bullets start to fly, and just when you think you can breath again, more bullets fly. Multiple RIPs in Part Three, so prepare yourself. - 4. The Bitter Blood Murders: Part 4Mafia mayhem, interstate investigations, the Wampus Cat, gun hoarding, fake doctors, way too much Vitamin C, and weird Fritz Klenner’s womanizing ways. As a suspect emerges in the brutal slaying of five people, one incredibly nervous young CIA recruit named Ian Perkins stammers his way through the story of a fast food-fueled, costume-changing camping mission to assassinate the international gun smugglers responsible for the drug trade poisoning America. All the while Susie Sharpe Newsome does her best to play it cool. Welcome to Part Four. The Bitter Blood Murders: Part 5The Chevy Blazer blows, but not before all sorts of botched wire-tapping, mystery pills, revenge murder planning, Killdozer-style truck modifications, a cacophony of law enforcement blunders, a slow speed chase, lots of uzi action, and the heart breaking death of two more Sharpe family members. This is our fifth and final part of The Bitter Blood Murders. Please start at the beginning, take care, thanks for listening, and enjoy the show.
