Needing captions/transcripts

My head is spinning
This stunning history and the way the story is told is something everyone should listen to. My first thought at the end of the latest episode is that it’s like the intersection of the 60’s series Get Smart, Homeland and what’s happening today. It would be unbelievable if January 6th didn’t happen. I predict, sadly that the only people who will listen are those who are based in reality and paying attention. This story, so far, seems to be the blueprint for all things January 6th and leading up to it. Father Coughlin is Rush Limbaugh and Alex Jones. Now there’s an army of them. This also intersects with Shadow Network (Anne Nelson’s book) and other contemporary writers who are warning us and have been for years, including Nancy McClean who warned us in 2017 with her book Democracy in Chains. Sally Denton, with the Guardian wrote an article titled Why Is So Little Known About the 1930’s Coup Attempt Against FDR? She mentions Father Coughlin, but you start with the 1940’s, unless I missed something. I wonder why?

Rachel has an unique format and draws you in with masterful story telling. She not only tells you about crucial events of the day, she gives you the backstory, historical beginnings leading to them. I agree with so many reviewers before me that Rachel Maddow is the best when it comes to delivering political news. She has been my very favorite podcast of about 20 or so that I listen to every day. I’ve long felt her show is not that interesting when she’s away. Now that’s 80% of the time. I’m not really digging that, personally speaking. Of course, she has the right to work whatever schedule she can work out with her employer, but this one day a week appearing on the show is pretty lame in my opinion again. I’d prefer she either stay or go. Popping in 20% of the time is lame, IMO.

I’m just a retired old lady from St. Augustine, FL and living (of all places) south Alabama. My sister turned me on to Rachel and now a day’s not a day without her. She has much of the same attitude that I have about our former President but she has a wonderful way with words…she gives us the truth. Love show, but Apple podcasts app doesn’t deliver
The Apple podcast app is broken. TRMS video doesn’t download, and the only episode I see is one from 24 May 2021. It won’t even search. Except on rare occasions, when it shows up in my feed. Even the audio version doesn’t download, though sometimes (sometimes) I can search for it. And when I can search (ie refresh) sometimes it finds a new show, but more often it doesn’t. TRMS is my primary source of news, but since I can’t afford cable tv, I depend on the podcasts. Please light a fire under them and get them to fix it.

Mad respect to her staff- Rachael rarely needs to correct her facts. Been a hard core fan since Keith Oberman would toss his show to hers. The lone show I regret not getting more on was the one where she was trying to but didn't get to the bottom of the circumstances of the Massachusetts State Trooper killing the brother? roommate? of the Boston Marathon bomber in a FLA motel room. As far as I know Rachael was the only one to give any attention to that event. OTH I can easily understand the huge pushback that line of questioning would beget. I started watching Rachael about five years ago. Before then, I had really not paid much attention at what was happening concerning political events in the US. After watching for a while I became fascinated. I read the Constitution, became knowledgeable about the three branches of government, read the bios of all the members of Congress. Rachel’s show is the best. MSNBC is really cheap and stupid by not offering full episodes of her show, either on the app or in the podcast. It’s OLD NEWS the next day- why not release the recorded show the day after?? Or, better yet, offer MSNBC live for around $5 a month. I love this show, and I’d be willing to pay for it. But I will not get Comcast tv for $100- plus a month just for MSNBC.

Rachel breaks some fascinating stories, with a different angle that I wasn’t aware of. She gets high profile guests and a cadre of experts across all fields. Maddow is hated by Magas because she is so good at commenting and dissecting the stories of the day. And much of that news puts Trump in a very harsh light. Only shows that I make it a point to listen to daily!
I’m so busy, like so many of us, but this show is the only show that I am consistent with, and make it a point to listen to daily, and I mean the ONLY show that I listen to DAILY. Most of the time, this is the ONLY show/podcast, I get to listen to or see in my whole day, and that happens multiple times a week. Thus, you mayBe thinking why did I only rated four stars when I feel this way about the show. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five was because it only shows half hour of the actual show that’s on TV, and usually I have to wait till the next day to actually listen to the Full Show on the podcast. If I can get the full hour on the video portion, or you could upload the entire show from the podcast in a timely manner, then this would definitely get five stars.

The Rachel Maddow Show provides America with a stunningly comprehensive, thorough explanation of the day’s issues. Rachel makes sense of the events of the day by using deep analysis, historical references, and an encyclopedic knowledge of government. She is enjoyable to watch, and I learn so much from her broadcasts. I simply cannot imagine our world, especially today, without Rachel Maddow breaking it down. I always come away with a list of new people and books to follow up on. This show is a must in these confusing and conflicting times. Please return to providing full episodes of the video broadcast. Also, please leave more episodes up so we can refer back at least a year. Other than that, keep up the good work!

Without my nightly fix of Rachel I would be as ignorant as a trump voter... NOT REALLY. After long days of being unable to catch up on the daily horrors of our new republican government, I can tune in at 9 and learn exactly what I missed! I am a 93 yr old black lady .i have seen a lot of news programs in my years.i feel as though Rachael is my daughter. She is not only cutes as a bug, but she is so professional and does her home work so thourghly,I absolutely wait for her. I watch her live shows and then wait for her repeat for fear I may have missed something the first time. She is so good at what she does and so animated that makes her so good at what she does. She really could have made a really good actress.i just love her. She delves in detail stories on these politicians I find myself finding out about some of these clowns as long as I have been watching news, I find there is so much ,I thought I knew what what has been done and still being happening especially in our government ,especially this group that’s really dangerous for our country.starting with our so called president and his controll over the senate. I worry so for our future ,if he getting away with more and more.if he was smart about running our country, it would be one thing, but he doesn’t know he is dumb.keep up the good work Racheal.

I’m a big follower of more staid news sources but I love Rachel’s take on the latest news surrounding what’s happening in government/politics. I don’t have cable access to MSNBC, so I’m disappointed to miss the second half of the show, especially when it’s been mentioned in the first half.

Who is being lazy
I regularly watch the video podcast just before I listen to the audio podcast, the morning after the show airs. Lately, someone has been slacking! If you were able to post the episode with audio only the there should be no reason the video episode should not be up already, intact it should be up before the audio episode because it’s a television show and it’s not even the whole show. But at the least, it should be up by the next morning. The show comes on at 9pm and is a live show. There’s no editing required once it goes on air. Do better! Because you are ruining my mornings.

If MSNBC would provide the full episode, this would be the perfect podcast. Rachel is the one show that doesn't provide the same information you've been watching all day on every other network. She comes with a fresh perspective, even as it relates to stories you I've already heard. She provides in-depth, historic information. There is no other show like hers. Again, MSNBC should provide the full video for viewers, not just the first 20 minutes.

My All-Time Favorite Journalist
I’ve been listening to Rachel Maddow since the early 2000s, when she was a reporter for Air America Radio. Even back then I didn’t watch cable news. I was delighted when she got her spot on MSNBC, and I have been thrilled for her success over the last 10 years in that spot through online streaming! I remember when her full show was offered, and I watched every single day as I lived all over the globe, and she kept me connected to what was happening in politics at home. I still watch/listen religiously to this video podcast, followed by the entire audio show podcast. I do think it does a disservice to only give 20+/- minutes of video to her followers. We miss all those fun graphics, the faces of who she’s speaking to, and that continued facial connection to our star journalist. Its also just an inconvenience to switch to her audio podcast, cue up to the point where video left off, and continue the conversation without visual cues. I would love to share her show more easily with facebook friends, but video grabs better attention, and most people won’t follow through an audio segment. Please consider offering the full video show to her followers once again.

Rachel Maddow is the most brilliant newscaster on the planet yet we only get to hear a portion of her show? For those of us on a different time zone (Hawaii) we miss the afternoon show & sometimes part of the 6:00pm show so a podcast is the only way to watch and listen to Rachel on the same day. Rewind/Fast Forward PLEASE!
I really like this option to catch my favorite shows, but it would be great to have Fast Forward/Rewind. I always listen to clips on YouTube and sometimes don’t want to repeat certain segments. I also don’t always hear things completely and want to rewind so I can be sure of what I have heard!

I love Rachel Maddow’s show. She is smart and asks the right questions. I would love to know I can watch the WHOLE episode here if I miss it on any given night. During this episode with Ex-CIA Director John Brennan she questioned him without backing away when things seemed uncomfortable at times. I would love to see the rest of the show to hear how he reacted to the breaking news she spoke about. I will unsubscribe if whole episodes do not become available.

Please, please, please video podcast the entire episode. I have been listening to Rachel Maddow for thirteen years. I was absolutely thrilled when she got the gig at MSNBC. For me Rachel became “Must See TV.” Sadly nowadays my work schedule prevents me from watching the broadcast live. It is SO disappointing to have to switch from video to only audio mid show. PLEASE present the entire show!

Rachel is brilliant and every time I listen I learn things that aren't covered elsewhere. Okay, she is definitely biased and opinionated. She puts together what could be called conspiracy theories, but (1) they're based on actual research, (2) they often turn out to be true and (3) she always let's you know the difference between the facts and her speculation. I am thoroughly addicted.

Rachel Rocks!
I have been watching TRMS for years now and it is by far the best show of its type on television. Rachel is a master communicator who gives the facts in a most informative and entertaining way. Best of all, she tells the truth. Unlike some at other networks who have no compunction about lying through their teeth night after night. Unfortunately, MSNBC does not broadcast live in Singapore, where I live (unlike Fox News), but fortunately I have a Sling Box, so I can watch it here in real time.

Rachael Maddow, progressive news the way it's meant to be.
Great to have this podcast available for the times I miss the show live. Rachael is the most intelligent news analyst. The amount of research she puts into the show is staggering. Watching Rachael is more like having a discussion with an extremely well-informed and thoughtful friend. Her personality is refreshingly different than most staid TV & Cable anchors. Her style is conversational, natural, and intellectually reasoned. The Rachael Maddow Show is the number one show on MSNBC. There's a reason for that, besides her personality and the news she covers (which is fluid often changing at the last minute), Rachael is astute at drilling down to the heart of a topic, in a way I can understand w/o feeling as if I'm being talked at, but rather talked with. No shouting or screaming, just well reasoned progressive arguments that are worth listening to. I usually catch the Rachael Maddow Show live or watch on DVR. When I want to catch-up I listen to her podcasts.

A Let Down
The Rachel Maddow Show is great. I was excited to see that I could watch it as a podcast. This podcast was a let down. Unless they make some simple changes, don’t bother subscribing. They know broadcasting. They don’t yet understand podcasting. This is not the full episode of the show. It is only The A Block. You get Rachel’s introduction and none of the interviews. It is like only reading the headlines of a newspaper and never getting to read the article. What’s worse is every podcast episode ends with a slap in the face. Right before Rachel goes to commercial break she says, “Stay right there.” Then a voiceover comes on and says that the full episode is no longer available. If you want to get more than headlines you need to visit the website or something else. The whole reason we subscribe to podcasts is so we don’t have to visit a dozen individual websites. Podcasts bring our favorite shows together in one place. By saying “no longer available” makes you think at one time the full episode was available. Boy, if you subscribed back then you would have been fine. Now you’re too late and out of luck. The podcast feed only has the latest episode in it. If you miss a couple days, you’re out of luck as well. Forget having a life outside of work or a busy work schedule or taking a couple days of vacation to get away. If you don’t open your podcatcher every day and download the episode, you don’t get to see it. That’s the only way to catch up on the show over the weekend. I can’t understand this decision since the website and Apple TV app carry the past few days of episodes to help us catch up after we get busy. The show doesn’t respond to feedback. I don’t usually write bad reviews on shows. If I don’t like something I contact the show and provide my input in private. Even if they don’t change, most podcasts acknowledge my input. I’ve written several emails about these issues and suggested full video episodes and keeping 5 back episodes in the feed. I’ve received absolutely no response. They didn’t even set up an auto-responder to say thank you for your input. We get lots of feedback and it may take us a while to get back to you. I would have been happy with getting a reply from an intern acknowledging that they are looking into my concerns. The most upsetting thing is that they could do a phenomenal job at podcasting the videos. The show has many visual elements that aren’t part of the full episode audio podcast. The web offering has clips and most days parts of the show are left out of these clips. I’m giving the show two stars because they may someday make these changes and offer a great video podcast. Until then don’t bother subscribing. If you like The Rachel Maddow Show, subscribe to the audio podcast. It has full episodes. It only has the latest episode in the feed. This makes a great companion for your daily commute.

... I live in the country with VERY limited data so I cannot stream MSNBC in order to watch the entire episode. Often I wish I could put a face to the interviews that I listened to on the audio podcast. I really hate it when there is some, small change in the title of the show so the dvr doesn’t record, as it did on 8 Dec. 2017. I was so hoping to view this particular show, but, nooooo. At the very least, THANK YOU for the complete audio podcasts.

I have been a faithful listener to Rachel's show for many years. Imagine my consternation when I tried to download 10/16's episdoe and it was nowhere to be found (on itunes, at least....) Went to Stitcher, downloaded their app and got the show! MSNBC is/has been sabotaging Rachel's show (and Lawrence's) for this last year. Itunes loss is stitcher's gain.

TRMS is smart, well-researched, factual, analytical, news commentary. Rachel conducts respectful interviews with people holding many different views, perspectives and from many fields of expertise. As we all know, this is a post-gender-binary epoch in human existence. As such, we need to know someone's pronouns. Rachael Madlow dances the line between M/F every day. I can't tell if it's a MTF or FTM, and as such I'm left wondering if I should have a bias against its views. As a white male, she's a misogynistic patriarch worshipping new age hipster. As a white female, its clearly been brainwashed by the patriarch and is a disgrace to its post-gender identifying mongrels. "Women" like this seem to make me want to target vomit nearly involuntarily. When I watch or listen to this woman, perhaps the feeling I get is similar to that had I been a subject in the Soviet regime circa 1975, being fed some party line. If you wanted to get REAL depressed, watch this person spew the androgynous amorphous sophistry "It" must now inevitably believe "Itself." If that is your bag, crawl in, you will love it and be in terrific company. There are plenty of other Maddowshuns to play footsie with, to the detriment of our Republic.
