LOVE!
I love this podcast and Liesel is just the sweetest! I found the podcast because of my interest in becoming an L&D nurse, so naturally birth stories interest me. I have learned so much from Liesel and the strong mother’s who share their stories. Cannot recommend enough!

Liesel rocks!!!
This is the best podcast for all things birthing, postpartum and mom related! I am always telling my newly prego friends about her along with her Instagram. She is SO informative and presents in an easy to follow non-judgmental way. Thanks Liesel for putting me at ease and educating me on things I didn’t know I needed to know.

I have been listening to this podcast ever since I found out I was pregnant. This podcast is EXACTLY what you need if you’re a first time mom and have NO IDEA what you’re doing. She makes everything so easy to understand without making anything feel overwhelming. I also HIGHLY suggest buying one of her birthing courses. I feel so much more prepared for birth because of the Mommy Labor Nurse Podcast!!

My favorite pregnancy podcast!
I have listened to many pregnancy podcasts, but Mommy Labor Nurse is my absolute favorite. In fact, it has everything you are looking for in a podcast- birth stories, interviews with a variety of professionals, and many educational episodes where Leisel covers all things pregnancy and birth! Leisel’s voice and delivery makes listening to the episodes so fun and engaging. I love the wide variety of content. My favorite episodes are birth stories and Leisel Q &A’s - she states she rambles, but I find her rambles so educational! I plan on taking her Birth It Up birth classes and feel so confident going into birth!

So helpful and fun to listen to!
I listen to a variety of different podcasts and literally never write reviews, but this one deserves one. After finding out I was expecting, I found the MLN podcast and have found it so helpful. I have gained so much more insight and resources that have really put me at ease while expecting my first little one. Give it a listen!

Thank you Liesel for this amazing and incredibly informative resource! I have been bingeing all the episodes since I discovered this podcast about a month ago. I’m currently 33 weeks and I look forward to listening to your show, because you are so calm, easy to listen to, entertaining, and super helpful! You talk about things that no one else will and, especially as a first time mama, I appreciate that! I seriously cannot thank you enough for creating this invaluable resource and sharing your passion with me and so many other mamas! Keep doing what you love!

Such an easy podcast to listen to. Great topics, meaningful conversations, easy to apply to daily life, and motivational. Liesel has a positive personality and great attitude when she approached all these different topics. She does a great job to help prepare families for labor delivery and postpartum. She explains things clearly and gives choices. I feel more informed and ready every time I listen to her.

Prepping for Trying
My husband and I are thinking about trying for our first baby at the end of the year or early next year. Maternity planning, physiology, and care were topics I was never exposed to, so I’ve spent the past year or so listening to maternity podcasts. Mommy Labor Nurse really increased my education and exposed me to so many resources. There are a lot of opinions when it comes to pregnancy, postpartum, and breastfeeding, so I appreciate that Liesel offers options and describes them unbiasedly. Thank you, Liesel, for your hard work.

Lovely & Informative
Liesel does a fantastic job explaining what the episodes will entail, what you as the listener may get, and how it can help you whether you have children or not. She has such wonderful guests on who she clearly and appropriately promotes, as well. I’ve seen many reviews that Liesel “talks too much”, but I think if you understand how a podcast/show goes is the host that leads, so it is perfectly acceptable for Liesel to pitch in her thoughts and steer the conversation in the way it should go as it is her own podcast. For instance call if you went to the podcasts of her featured guests, you would find that to be the same, otherwise it becomes the guests show and Liesel wouldn’t be needed. All in all, a fine balance is always necessary! Thank you for all of the information, Liesel, it is so appreciated!!

Good but let the guest speak
The potty training episode: I would’ve loved to hear more from the guest than the host. For almost every sentence the guest says, the host says “yeah” or some response and I think that interrupts the flow.

Great for every body!
I’ve followed Mommy Labor Nurse on Instagram since even before I was pregnant, but I didn’t discover the podcast until my baby was about 7 months old… now I’ve listened to almost every episode. I truly see Liesel just being herself as much as she can, which I find relatable and reliable! I don’t think I could listen if it was just “perfection”. I also love, love, love the different perspectives on so many topics, especially how unbiased MLN aims to be. Liesel’s entire goal is education! Like I said, I’ve listened to almost every episode, and not every topic is applicable to my life, but they are always educating me and opening my mind to new perspectives and ideas - which is always the goal! I can’t wait to see how MLN empowers me in my future pregnancies and births :)

Easing Momma Minds
I found MLN when I was pregnant with my very first baby girl in 2019. Liesel and team share so much useful information I felt very informed about the entire process. I took her medicated birthing class online (during Covid) and my husband and I felt like we were extremely prepared and had the tools to help with birth. I still follow her podcast and Instagram because I love learning! Thank you to the entire MLN team for sharing and helping navigate all of the things related to pregnancy and birth 💕

Covid episode was terrible
Typically love this podcast however this episode was terrible. When asked what preventative steps that could be taken Her advice was basically write down your wishes for baby when your on a ventilator. I’m sure being an MD she had more valuable information to provide like how to improve immune system or increasing your vit d level etc, Also I would love to see the evidence/science on her statement regarding natural immunity not being as good as vaccine immunity. Also it has been well documented that vaccinated people are getting covid so to only allow vaccinated people around your baby didn’t seem like helpful advice, should they wear masks? Not hold baby? Wait til baby is a certain age? Nothing other than get vaccinated was offered. All this episode did was push the vaccine and was very unhelpful for people who have decided not to.

Great content, delivery could be better
I really like this podcast for the variety of content and guests brought on. Liesel is also approachable and appears to be nonjudgmental. It could be much better if she would have more clear thoughts when she asks her questions, she tends to ramble. She will often repeat herself and speak in run on sentences, and not every question answered by a guest needs a reply back, it’s okay to move to the next question. She also says “you guys” and “well cool” which us a bit less polished than I am used to with other podcasts. Maybe it’s because I’m in the business world and give presentations often. I would recommend that she also gets to the point faster in the beginning- today’s episode with feeding littles took 19 minutes to get into the meat of the episode, baby led weening. She also asks personal questions which are fine, but maybe start with FAQs from her audience. Overall, really great content but delivery could be polished a bit more.

Education on pregnancy and babies made fun
It’s like having a conversation with a friend that also happens to be a labor and delivery nurse. She is well-informed, well-rounded, and realistic. Her conversations with her guests are fun and probably of interest to new parents, people trying to conceive, adopt a new baby, etc. I’m having my second and I’m learning new things all the time from her podcasts.

Not a great host
There is a lot of good info in these shows, but the host is constantly talking over her guests without actually adding anything of value to the conversation. She’s always saying “that’s great” to everything which is not only annoying, but insensitive in some instances. I love hearing birth stories, but before every birth story on this show the host gives you a complete synopsis of the whole story. Why even bother having someone on to tell their story if you are going to spoil it for all your listeners every time?!

A long commercial
I listened to a couple episodes and won’t be listening to anymore. They’re essentially long commercials for the company the guest is from. The facilitator also interrupts and speaks over the guest often which is annoying. I didn’t get much useful information from the episodes I listened to.

Love her
I started following her insta when I was in my first trimester. I knew I wanted a natural birth but I kept putting off taking her birth class because I always procrastinate. I was about to buy it when I found out at 37 weeks that I had pre-eclampsia and had to be induced! I gave birth with no pain meds and no epidural and I was completely confident the entire time because of what I had learned on her insta. I can only imagine how great I would’ve felt had I taken the birth class too. So happy she made this awesome podcast to help other women feel as empowered, confident, and educated as I did when our big day came.

- What (and What Not!) to Pack in Your Hospital Bag for Birth and a Bit About Eating During LaborThis week on The Mommy Labor Nurse Podcast we are chatting about hospital bags! For a first-time mom, I was SUCH a slacker when it came to packing my hospital bag for labor. I was lucky I didn’t go into labor a few weeks early, because I would not have been prepared! For my second birth, I was way more organized and prepared. Because I know this is a very buzz-worthy topic when it comes to birth prep, I thought it only made sense to make an episode out of it! You see, I’m a BIG fan of packing individual bags for labor, recovery, partner, and baby. This keeps everything so much more organized. Inside the episode, I'll get into what should be in each of those bags. I'll also cover some things to specifically NOT bring with you, and then we'll talk in-depth about snacks for labor and touch a bit on eating during labor too. Anxious about packing for the hospital? - Cathryn's Story of Secondary InfertilityI am so excited to share this podcast episode with you guys. I am doing a birth story today with Cathryn. And you know that feeling that you get when you watch a really feel-good movie made me really sad in the beginning and then there's like these really, really feel good parts at the end. You're just like, oh, I just feel so good after watching this movie. I'm not trying to compare her story to a movie, but that is how I feel right now! I just got off recording with her, and I just can't wait to share this story with you guys. Cathryn struggled with secondary infertility with the birth of her daughter, it was actually a full 18 months that she went through rounds of Clomid, IUI, and IVF. And it was just really, really tremendous to hear that whole process, have her explain how she was feeling throughout it, and just everything that goes along with infertility because there's a lot and it can be really, really hard to relate to others who are going through infertility if you haven't been through it yourself.0 comments0
