Excellent supplemental resources too
Kimberly Adams does an excellent job coherently and fully reporting on topics but also gives necessary focus to resources beyond the reporting. Today's episode on Apple Safety Check was particularly good in this, sharing resources for victims of domestic abuse & stalking, as well as organizations working to keep privacy in tech front and center. Well done, Kimberly and team!

Lose the exclamation points
You’re starting to sound like cable news when reporting economic indicators, especially ones that are scary like inflation. Then you use a flat tone when reporting positive indicators. News informs but also shapes public opinion. Be careful about inciting fear. But the scary numbers into bigger context and give people hope.

Amazon Ring episode is a standout
Especially great reporting in this episode. What a combination: ‘can of worms’, ‘Trojan horse’ and ‘pandora’s box’ these devices/systems are! Their social and legal contexts are far from understood and settled. As in the Chinese proverb, I would prefer not to live in ‘such interesting times’! Also, don’t want to be the Guiana pig for some company money grab with their delusions of grandeur! They bring Big Brother under the guise of ‘doing good’ with cool tech on a road paved with good intentions. I prefer businesses to NOT play god with human playthings.

Love the stories about disability tech!
Please interview more sources and cover disability and tech more broadly! Loved the weeklong series in August and September Haben follow-up, but disability exists in paracosms of virtually every story involving people, and with 1/4 of society disabled it would be great to hear daily questions about accessibility with regard to products, systems and more.

Mostly politics disguised as tech
I’m changing my long time rating from 5 to 1, would be 1/2 if able. I left Kai Ryssdal’s Marketplace podcast just after he took a hard left when Trump was elected. I stopped my hundreds of dollar donations then but kept on with Tech but today when Ms. Wood mentioned the president doing something untoward with no evidence or context that was the last straw. Her interviews have an agenda. I’m very interested in tech not opinion. I can go to CNN or MSNBC if I want reporters to give me their opinion. I went back several times to see if Mr. Ryssdal moved back center (where I thought he was during the Obama years) but nope. He’s full of hatred of our country and president just like Ms. Wood is not exhibiting. I unsubscribed today. It’s a shame because I have heard some great things about tech from some of the folks who were able to talk about tech and not politics. Since NPR has lost the “Public” from its existence they can go get the cash they need from companies they support. I’ll work to end taxpayer subsidy for shows like this. The best episodes seem to be done by stand in hosts. After six years I’m walking away from this now dysfunctional podcast.

Political podcast that is anti-tech with biased host
I have been a long-time listener to Marketplace tech; Since Wood has taken over as host, the podcast has become more anti-tech with a political agenda that provides little to no substance besides a biased opinion. Wood seems under informed, lacking understanding, and changes the narrative into the latest political controversy. The interviews appear to be staged to support the biased and lazy reporting. Unsubscribing from podcast, it’s too bad since this was a great tech podcast with the previous hosts.

Tired of opinions
Molly has a great mind for tech and hunting down the hidden. But I hate the anti conservative politics that she weaves into everything. An example? US has reason to suspect China of spying by way of tiktok. How does MW report it? The evil dictator Trump has deprived the deserving citizens of the USA of a life enriching app all so he can steal an election. No investigation from non political sources. No evidence. Just anti Trump hate. I don’t love Trump but I can be honest about the good things he’s done and the bad. MW only sees bad from him and it taints her reporting. It’s too bad. I miss the good old days. Unsubscribing.

Holding tech accountable
If you’re looking for a show where the host doesn’t hold tech’s feet to the fire, this show is not for you. Journalists should be adversarial by nature and Molly is a superb journalist. I don’t always agree with her analysis but this show is a breath of fresh air. Keep up the great work Molly and everyone behind the scenes!

Concise Tech News
I wake up to Marketplace Tech every weekday early morning on KPCC in Los Angeles. The content is timely and rich. Molly does an excellent job analyzing what can often be complex issues. I especially love when she paraphrases articles or documents and gets right to the point. Awesome!

I like the topics and the guest speakers, but overall it’s mostly just driven my Molly’s own personal view on things, which often leads to very unbalanced conversations. Still informative, but know you’re not getting just news, but a lot of opinion, which is mostly anti-tech companies.

Keep the politics out of the story! Please
I’m done. Been very patient over the 3 yrs or so that I’ve been a subscriber. It continues to get more and more political. Anti-Trump, climate change, racism...every hot button issue out there. I want tech news. Not politically leaning “news” loosely related to tech. This week was the final straw. “Climate change is responsible for “The Un-housed” (not homeless) and also for racism. To loosely put those blatant political messages into a story about what tech companies are doing to combat climate change is nothing more than a loosely veiled political statement. Consider me “unsubscribed”.

I love this podcast. Molly Wood is inquisitive and upbeat despite many dark realities she reports on. I will agree with others that the commercials are too long for such a short podcast. I have had trouble convincing friends to subscribe because of the extraordinarily long commercials for what ends up being only 4 min of content.

Oddly Biased
This show is well put together and at first blush seems to provide a nice condensation of financial news. After listen for a while, however, you start to wonder why they take certain slants which seem to favor one side of some polarized issue. This seems kind of odd when you are expecting a reasonable attempt at factual analysis. You chalk it up to your imagination or perhaps your own bias. You finally realize there is a definite pattern to their bias. They seem to always favor existing entrenched businesses or policies over anything which may threaten these interests. This is quite disturbing and odd since they “present” themselves as a polished and fact-based program. I have come to see this, however, only as a smokescreen for a deep and frankly disgusting bias which permeates their reporting. I thought Trump was just being self-serving and disingenuous when he complains about “fake news” from the major outlets. As I am beginning to see, however, there is actually substance to the fact that most news shows serve only their sponsor’s interest and have little regard for honest journalism. Oh well. This “marketplace” program appears to be just another platform for fake news.

I loved Ben and his show. There was an emphasis on the technology business news of the day, mixed with product news. This iteration of this podcast seems focused on interviews and, sadly, a political view of technology. Where is the focus on technology business news? This podcast has not right to exist by itself. Fifty percent of the 6 minutes time is devoted to ads, not to content. It should be added to any of the other Marketplace podcasts as a segment. The ads in the Marketplace main podcast is just 10%. This is acceptable for a free offerint in the Web, not higher than than that.

I wouldn’t call this a fantastic podcast before, but the change in hosts seems to have changed the focus from reporting on tech, to “here’s what you should be afraid of today”. There’s enough of that kind of fear mongering out there already, and marketplace + apm are generally above that flavor of lazy reporting. You can do better.

High quality show about tech, love it.
I'm a general fan of Marketplace, mostly for it's down-to-earth approach to reporting. Marketplace tech is great with the addition of Molly Wood! She takes a great approach to the show/interviews. Love it. Only nit is that some of it's stories cross over to 'regular' Marketplace, meaning I have to hear them twice. Separating shows more completely would be best, in my opinion.

This is the only technology podcast I've listened to consistently over the years. Excellent mix of breaking tech news combined with thoughtful analysis of larger tech issues. Ruined When Ben Johnson Left
Molly Wood is a lazy reporter who doesn't understand this industry. She did a show about housing prices and let her guest claim unchallanged that its litterally the fault of too much profit sharing with employees - one of the greatest ideas the tech world has brought to modern US capitalism. She didn't even mention the onerous building restrictions that ammounts to generational theft that everyone knows is happening in cities like SF.

I have been listening to this podcast daily since it was called Future Tense (I started listening in 2004). I have loved hearing Molly on Marketplace for years and Make Me Smart since Episode 1. Even though I really liked Ben Johnson a lot, I was thrilled when I learned I'd get to hear Molly's take on tech, as well as her awesome interviewing skills, five days a week!! I have not missed an episode yet and hopefully never will. They are ALL excellent! The host is always smart, professional, witty, charming and filled with enthusiasm! Was good with Ben, now better with Molly
First observation of the new Marketplace Tech with Molly Wood - Molly is an avowed, unapologetic geek and that shows that she's more comfortable with tech than Ben was. It's also notable that in addition to being female (female geeks aren't uncommon), Molly is middle aged (good thing - gives perspective) AND a Mom (even better - gives even more unique perspective)! So Marketplace Tech now has a really unique voice and perspective among tech podcasts. Second observation is that Marketplace Tech has embraced that it's a PODCAST, not broadcast radio, and so it's letting Molly's really interesting interviews run longer, finally understanding that podcast listeners CAN and DO (and PREFER) to listen to longer audio content (when it's genuinely interesting) because we have the luxury of choosing WHEN to listen). Maybe Marketplace Tech will eventually loosen up to allow most or all of Molly's interviews. Third observation is that Marketplace Tech both has the credibility of the Marketplace organization behind it to get interesting interviews and stay on top of interesting tech developments AND its podcasts are well produced; well-edited, good audio levels, excellent pacing, and fun bumper music. Last observation is that the Marketplace Tech commercials, er... "sponsor messages" are bland and repetitive, but at least they're RELEVANT to a tech audience, and for that reason I generally just listen to them instead of skipping ahead. I'm glad Marketplace Tech has chosen good supporters (so far - DON'T screw up and start shampoo commercials or other such crap). Molly and staff - please keep up the great work!

Great re-boot
Molly Wood is a terrific analyst and interviewer. She is extraordinarily thoughtful and tries to get to the bottom of why things are the way they are in the business world. She comes across as personable and a lot of fun - not the first things that come to mind when I think of business reporters - and it is a joy to listen to and learn from her. Also, check out the Make Me Smart podcast she co-hosts.

Appreciate the deep dive into various tech subjects but I also appreciated the summarized recaps of daily, breaking, tech news. Nothing on the biggest cyber breach in US history? Amazon second HQ? I really enjoyed the tech perspective of significant daily tech/business events.

Love the show but sub Adriene Hill makes it hard to listen to
I love the show. But Adriene Hill (and Lizzie O’Leary on the weekend show) gives such a forced delivery. It seems like they are both trying to add personality to their voice but it comes off weird. Both are great their job. It’s just the delivery. Unfortunately since it’s a voice-only medium, voices manner. I just wish both of them would speak in their natural voices. Both seem to be trying to have a “personality voice” like Kai and they just can’t match how he does it. He comes across like he’s talking in his normal voice. Adriene and Lizzie don’t. I just have to turn it off when they are on. Molly Wood though does a great job both in her overall job and in her voice delivery. I love and listen to all the shows except for the weekend one (because Lizzie’s the host) and now I have to give up Marketplace Tech until Ben Johnson gets back.

Stop pushing other content on this podcast
I used to really enjoy the well thought out small blips of daily tech news but for the last few weeks it seems like half the show is about a separate podcast, codebreakers. I'm all for posting an episode in the feed to get people informed but when it's happening every week and disrupting from the content I came to listen to, it's too much. I enjoyed the podcast but have unsubscribed because of the continual pushing of their sister podcast.

It hurts to write this
This used to be a 5-star podcast. It was just so unbelievably great. Then John Moe left, and with him not just his personality, but also a look at technology that sliced through all the BS. It managed to be humorous and serious and dig up all kinds of new things. Now? It's follow-the-headline stuff, full of the kind of Wall Street analyst bunkum that has nothing to do with tech at all. Do I need another story about Apple vs. Samsung based on some dumb analyst report or market survey? How many times a week do I need to hear Janell Burley Hoffmann tell me how to use my phone? I don't even know who this podcast is for anymore. My mom? One thing's for sure though, it's not for me. What a complete and utter bummer.

Moved to New York; now more about tech business culture
The move to New York has killed all of what I found enjoyable. The show used to be about technology; the past week has all been about high-tech business culture and New York. For a whole week of podcasts, I didn't learn a single thing about new technologies, technological research, or the absurdity of the pace of things. I also miss John Moe's pointedly ironic humor about our species as a tool-using ape hardly capable of keeping up with the tools we're building. This was a 5-star podcast, and now just a well-produced report on stuff I do not find interesting.

A daily dose of knowlege that goes down like candy. Host John Moe is warm and likable, and offers relevant information on recent innovations, updates, and sobering realities of lawmaking and corperations that effect the world of information and technology. And I find the occasional sketches like "Marketplace Tech Theatre" to be charming and funny and as informative as the rest of the content. It's clear that a whole lot of work goes into making something as streamlined and seemingly effortless as this, and it is well appriciated.

Highlight of My Commute
I am fortunate enough to live in a city that carries this program as part of its morning programming, and I really look forward to hearing it. Quick technology and business review
Four minutes or so to keep up with daily events in the tech industry and its businesses. The Marketplace folks always seem to do a good job with any of their broadcasts/podcasts, and this is no exception. If you like any of their other podcasts, you should listen to this. If you don't listen to any other of their podcasts, try this one. If you like it, try some of their other ones. If you keep up with any electronics/technology magazines or websites or podcasts, you're probably going to enjoy this.

Tech Report from APM is a great podcast to follow. I listen to two or three at a time. Never dull or boring and always informative. There's always something relevant, too. If you happen to be someone who uses stuff that requires electricity to function, keep this podcast loaded up. I highly recommend following the blog, too.

Slanted coverage and questionable tech knowledge
The podcast covers the right topics. However, I've found the content to be lackluster. The insights are pedestrian. The host seems biased on whatever topic he is covering based on his questions and approach. Since this is not presented as an opinion piece, I find this annoying. It's not up to the high standards of other NPR or APM content.

John Gordon's podcast stands out among the many technology podcasts that are being distributed. Gordon is smart and articulate. He does not shy away from politely, but firmly, challenging some of his interviewees. Gordon covers a broad variety of technology topics, usually with a fresh perspective.

Great backup to radio segment
For listeners in the States, "As it happens" provides an excellent radio magazine style hour view from the Canadian side. Instead of a news section on the half hour, "APM: Future Tense" is broadcast. This fine podcast is a great way to re-listen to one you've heard, collect a favorite or catch up on a missed episode. What an excellent way to have two different media support each other. Hooray for radio, hooray for podcasts and a real HOORAY for "Future Tense."

It's okay to plug a sponsor, but two "underwriters" is pushing it and 0:15 seconds a piece, I'll skip the ads (always the same length) and go to the show. Otherwise, I love it.

His iconic roles on “Star Trek” and the miniseries “Roots,” for instance. But many of us got to know him as host of the PBS show “Reading Rainbow.” His run with the show ended in the mid-2000s, but Burton is still promoting literacy for kids. - The NLRB is keeping electronic surveillance of workers in checkThe National Labor Relations Board is a federal agency tasked with making sure workers can organize to improve their working conditions, wages or form a union. But the NLRB says some employers are using technology to prevent or discourage workers from doing just that. The agency released a public memo on Oct. 31 saying it plans to protect employees from “intrusive or abusive electronic monitoring and automated management,” practices the NLRB says are increasingly happening as the technology gets better and companies seek more oversight of their workers, especially with more people working remotely. - Inside the high stakes of the quantum computing raceQuantum computers are considered by many to be the next big thing in technology. The promise – in theory – is they could complete extremely complex calculations very quickly by harnessing what Einstein called the “spooky” nature of quantum mechanics.
