wonderful knowledge
Chantel is willing to share a lot of great information that does nothing but help me with my own mind/ thought work. And that is where it lies. When we change our thinking it changes our world. I'd recommend everyone have a listen and be willing to change your life for the better. She does a great job in all of her podcasts.

I found Chantel this week and have been binging for a couple days. She’s real. She shares her own vulnerability and struggles. I have learned a ton about feeling my emotions and seeing the difference between feeling them and reacting to them.

The Pain Box
Chantel is just fantastic. Over many years, I have read countless books, listened to dozens of podcasts and watched many, many You Tube videos on the topics of personal growth and overcoming our limitations. What Chantel has done for me is to provide the precise tools, methods and thought processes I needed to put into practice all the knowledge I had gained, but could never make work before. Her podcasts were so instrumental in helping me make real progress that I signed up to be coached by her, which has simply changed my life - something I thought impossible at age 58.

- I can only feel/process one emotion at a time [Myths About Emotions Series]Myth #4 covers the myth that we can only feel or process one emotion at a time. This myth makes sense when we consider the analogy of the beach ball. You can't hold down two balls at the same time. So when we consider having to process two emotions- we can see where the overwhelm comes into play. However when we discuss processing your emotions- we aren't talking about resisting them. We aren't talking about having to control them either. We're talking about learning to allow them on top of the water so you can have several emotions in there at the same time. This is where the power of the word 'AND' comes into play. Learning to apply this to emotion work opens us up to seeing that we can feel Anxiety AND feel present at the same time. Opening up to one makes space for creating another. Learn how you can use the 'AND' more in your life and how it can help you process those emotions even more. 🔗You can get the show notes here0 comments0
- If I allow my emotions- They will take over [Myths About Emotions Series]Myth #3 in our series is centered around the idea that if we feel our emotions- then they will take over. 💥Do you remember the analogy of the beach ball? The analogy goes that if your emotions are like the beach ball, it doesn't work to try to hold them down under the water. In fact when we do that, it takes so much effort to hold it down that eventually the ball [emotions] ineveitably come out. Not feeling our emotions- is actually what is creating more of the take over affect. When we try to keep them at bay, they become so powerful that we react in ways we don't necessarily desire. Instead, we want to learn how to allow that beach ball or our emotions, to just float out on top. This way it doesn't take over, we aren't having to react to it, and we get to enjoy our experience. Many times the reasons why we don't allow those emotions is because they feel so big and powerful. I call these secondary emotions. They are covering up the primary/raw emotions that don't feel as powerful. Learning to allow the primary emotions, will in turn help us to keep our emotions from taking over and also keep ourselves from exhausting our emotions away. Listen today to learn how to allow that beach ball of emotions to sit on top and how to allow those primary emotions. 🔗You can get the show notes here0 comments0
- Living and Loving Your Life with Chantel Allen Mar 9 · 17m Emotions Aren't Scary [Myths About Emotions Series]When you consider going in and processing your emotions- what comes up for you? Do you have fear around what feeling your emotions might create? You're not a lone in that fear. Many people (because of the way we have heard it all our lives) have been taught that emotions aren't meant to be felt. Many of you were told as kids that you shouldn't feel angry, or sad, or even feel love. So you taught yourself that emotions were not safe. However, in orer to get the things we desire most in life (like true meaningful fullfilment) it requires our willingness to feel the discomfort. It requires us to feel ALL our emotions. And no I'm not saying we need to think through our emotions- we need to learn how to actually go inside and feel them in our body. So how? How do we make this shift after so many years of thinking and beleiving our emotiosn weren't safe? First- we have to recognize that our emotions are probably 'asleep' and 'hiding'. We have to have the patience to go in and allow our emotions to be noticed. It will take time. And second- we need to start doing what I call emotional sprints. Emotional sprints are where we just pick a short period of time to go inside and build up your trust and safety for one emotion. It can be 2 minutes, 4 minutes... whatever feels safe for you to start. Then practice for that amount of time, going inside and FEELING that emotion- practice letting it come out. Building safety and trust in ourselve and our emotions is so important. It's the way to a fulfilling life. 🔗Get full episode show notes at here0 comments0
- Emotions Don't Come From Thought Work [Myths About Emotions Series]Emotions don't come from thoughts. This is something I have been playing around with more and more recently. Now of course, the idea that thoughts create our emotions is a great tool to help us get leverage. For example When I think I'm doing a bad job- I can feel shame When I think something might go wrong- I might feel fear. However, there's also times that I'm sure you've experienced, where you experience an emotion and you have no idea why. And yet, you spend time trying to figure out the story or thought that might be creating that emotion. It doesn't work. Emotions are created by a combination of body, mind and environment. Learning and understanding this can help us stop trying to 'fix' emotions, but learning to more fully be aware, validate and accept them. - Why Thought Work Doesn't WorkI've noticed this myth out there when it comes to self-help gurus. The myth is that all you need is to think better thoughts. When you're feeling frustrated- think a positive thought. When you're feeling down- think a postive thought. And while I understand that thought work is amazing- this myth is keeping a lot of you stuck. Thought work is the beginning of awarenss for so many people. But the awareness actually helps us to understand the thing we need to focus more on- the emotion side of things. We need to see the thoughts, acknowledge them, but then we need to feel the emotions. That is why when we try to think postively or practice affirmtions- they're 'not working' because we haven't done the work to really process the original thought and emotions first. Start with noticing the emotion you're having but then we have to acknowledge the emotion that is coming up with the thought and feel and relax into that. Stay there. This episode can help you understand what thought work is and why it doesn't work- and how to actually focus on what does. 👍🏻 🔗Get full episode show notes at here0 comments0
