Breath of Fresh Air!
Iâve been a fan of Anuhea for a couple years now. Her music has been playing in my house and car on the daily. Her voice and vibe is absolutely DREAMY! It always takes me to a chill place, a place I seek regularly. Just recently I discovered this podcast and it has already helped me so much with my struggles and anxieties. Knowing Iâm not alone in my additionâŠmine is food, has been everything! Some of her guests (Justin Young) have also helped me in this very painful time of grief Iâm in. I love listening to her because itâs like Iâm talking with a dear friend and sharing our life stories, good and bad. I recently got to see her at CaliVibes and bought tickets solely because I saw she was playing and for the first time ever, conquered my fears and went to a festival (not a fan of big crowds). I sang along with her to every song, along with my hubby, which was the most fun Iâve had in so long. Pure joy! Anuhea, thank you for being YOU!!! Iâll be jamming with you and listening to this podcast for joy and for my mental health healing journey. Much love from SoCal! đ€đ»Moniđ

Love the positivity and your music!
Anuhea is a truly beautiful artist. Iâve been a fan of her music since December of 2016 when I happened to walk into MyBar in Kona where she was celebrating her birthday with friends. Iâd just moved to Big Island and wasnât familiar with her name but had heard her songs on the radio. I did a deep dive into her catalog and have been a big fan since! Her voice is so buttery delicious! Love that sheâs spreading positivity and so much aloha! I moved to Kauai and was able to see her perform here in 2019. Canât wait for her to come back and play a show! In the meantime, Iâll just keep jamming đ€đŒđđđđ Mahalo for sharing yourself with us Anuheađ

- Episode 26 - KimiĂ© Miner and 12 tips on how to LET IT GO.Hey everyone! It is not easy to let go of things that live in your mind. Situations that affected you emotionally, negative thoughts, past worries, anxieties, the people who came and left-- all of it takes up valuable space in there. But I wanted to learn how to truly LET THAT SHIT GO. "Letting go" is the process of freeing yourself from obsessing thoughts and unhappy feelings. In this episode we talk with my right besticle, Miss Kimie Miner about some tips on how to let it go. (Cue the Frozen song... Let it goooo... let it gooooo!!). Tips for letting go: 1. Create a positive mantra to counter the painful thoughts 2. Create physical distance 3. Do your own work 4. Practice mindfulness 5. Be gentle with yourself 6. Allow the negative emotions to flow 7. Accept that the other person may not apologize 8. Engage in self-care 9. Surround yourself with people who fill you up 10. Give yourself permission to talk about it 11. Give yourself permission to forgive 12. Seek professional help These 12 tips helped us go through our own personal blockages in letting go. Loved hearing Kimie's perspective on how this applies to her relinquishing control within her busy mom life. And I found some insight as it applied to my former-friend-drama situation, so that I can fill that empty space (or "puka" as Todd called it) with something else... possibly even something better. This week we recommend the books âą Seat of the Soul by Gary Zukov and also âą Let That Shit Go by Nina Purewal & Kate Petriw Follow Kimie on Instagram @playkimie Also, catch me, my band along with special guest Jordan T on tour this March for our.... đ»CALIFORNIA SPRING TOUR đ» 3/10 âą Santa Cruz @ Moeâs Alley 3/11 âą Oakland @ New Parish 3/12 âą San Diego @ Music Box 3/13 âą Anaheim @ The Parish @ House of Blues 3/15 âą Venice @ Venice West 3/16 âą Ventura @ The Six 3/17 âą Napa @ Blue Note 3/18 âą Milpitas @ ICC Get tickets here! - Episode 25 - McKenna Maduli and 22 ways to love yourself more!Aloha everyone! If you follow me, you'll know I have this ALOHA THYSELF movement, where I'm encouraging everyone to practice Self-LOVE so that they may take care of others. But what is SELF LOVE exactly, and how do we practice it? In this episode, I link up with one of my besticles (besties) McKenna Maduli and we try and navigate the word SELF LOVE. I use an article written by Psychotherapist Sharon Martin as reference as we go through these "simple" ways to show yourself the love you deserve. I "quote" simple because we all know its easier said than done sometimes. 1, Know yourself. 2. Say ânoâ when you need to. 3. Donât compare yourself to others. 4. Be truly present. 5. Know and use your strengths. 6. Give yourself a treat. 7. Be honest with yourself. 8. Let yourself off the hook for your mistakes and imperfections. 9. Work on forgiving yourself for the bigger stuff. 10. Accept that some people wonât like you. 11. Make fun a priority. 12. Practice gratitude. 13. Write down your successes. 14. Feel your feelings. 15. Take good care of your body. 16. Pursue a hobby. 17. Stand up for yourself. 18. Write yourself a love letter. 19. Ask for help when you need it. 20. Speak kindly to yourself. 21. Surround yourself with people who treat you with kindness and respect. 22. Allow yourself some downtime. - Episode 10 - Mostly MUSIC episode! My Life's Purpose statement, let's find yours!Aloha everyone! This is a special "mostly music" edition of Just Keep Jamming, as we celebrate 10 EPISODES!!! WOOOT WOOOOT!!! Bruuup bruuuup bruuuup bruuup bruuup!!!! I jam songs like:"Follow Your Bliss""Higher Than the Clouds""Hard Place""Crown Royal""Leather Lace" + "Laieikawai" + "What I Got" Medley"Skanking Sweet""Lean on Me" + "You Are My Sunshine" + "This Little Light of Mine" Life's Purpose: A life's purpose statement is a brief description of how you are led to make a difference with your life. I have been extremely inspired by this exersize, and I want to help others to find theirs. Your life's purpose can change throughout your life, as we are always changing as people, but having this written down to revisit daily and reassess if you feel your heading in the right direction is sooooo awesome. Here's how you can create your life's purpose statement: Choose an word in the following categories that you identify the most with: Physical (ex: beautiful, graceful, powerful, strong) Emotional (ex: enthusiastic, loving, sincere, spontaneous) Mental (ex: accepting, charismatic, determined, honest, independent, successful) Spiritual (ex: balanced, centered, limitless, unique) When writing yours, remember these guidelines: Think of your unique qualities as a child. What did you want to be when you were little? A doctor? Perhaps your life's purpose is caring. Think of the end of your life, how would you want your life to be remembered? For what did you stand? How did you make a difference? Make it bigger than yourself. Something that you may not be already, but strive to be. Make it active, not passive. So it would be "My life's purpose is GIVING" not "to give". Generally, avoid the word "to". Now put it into a pretty little package: I am a ___(physical)_____, __(emotional)______, __(mental)____, ____spiritual)____ woman/man, person/alien/etc) FOREVER and my life's purpose is _____________. Here's mine:  "I am a beautiful, open, effective, authentic woman forever, and my life's purpose is inspiration. Hope you guys enjoyed this season of Just Keep Jamming!! - Episode 2 - Boundaries, being all-natural, and a tragic aloha to Colt BrennenAnother teary therapy sesh for your newly sober sister over here. We reference some amazing BrenĂ© Brown quotes about BOUNDARIES and how I can apply these ideas to my slightly out-of-control life right now. âDaring to set boundaries is about having the courage to love ourselves, even when we risk disappointing others.â  â BrenĂ© Brown "Living a connected life ultimately is about setting boundaries, spending less time and energy hustling and winning over people who don't matter, and seeing the value of working on cultivating connection with family and close friends."    â BrenĂ© Brown "When we fail to set boundaries and hold people accountable, we feel used and mistreated. This is why we sometimes attack who they are, which is far more hurtful than addressing a behavior or a choice."    â BrenĂ© Brown "I'm never more courageous than when I'm embracing imperfection, embracing vulnerabilities, and setting boundaries with the people in my life."    â BrenĂ© Brown I talk about anxiety and how my anxiety caused me to lose a big money contract I had set up for the entire year. But realizing that I didn't really want it anyway, cause I'm putting energy into what MATTERS :) We also talk about former star UH Quarterback Colt Brennen and his tragic death on Tuesday. :( UGH!
