This Fanda Approves
A pithy and positive review: Steve, Bri, Georgia, and Mikah never fail to brighten my week. This podcast is original, inclusive, and hilarious. Oh, and there are video games in there, too! But discussed in a way that includes gamers of all types and varying life experiences. Unless you are a koala. I might be afraid of koalas now. Fandas Forever!

Isometricland D.OW. on Rocket podcast
Newsflash!! Civil war has broken out in the mother country Relay.Fm Network! Many hosts and guests are taking sides now on which podcast shall be triumphant in what some have termed the most epic battle since Ryu vs Ken on Street Fighter. Taking their love of pandas and all things Final Fantasy, to the battlegrounds Isometricland has declared the Rocket podcast should not only be destroyed but not allowed to exist! Steve will charge with the Hearthstone of Power while Bri exposes karate boob action with multiple female characters to disrupt the Rocket Podcast supply lines. There is a rumor that Bri may be a double agent and work also for The Rocket Podcast, but this can not be confirmed. Yet.... Which side is stronger? Which side will you take? Are you Team Rocket or Team Isometric? Two podcasts enter one podcast leaves. It's Thunder Dome!!!

Love the new direction!
First off, Maddy, we miss you! You rock! Fortunately, Isometric remains undaunted and continues to BRING THE NONSENSE (and also something about videogames? idk 🐼) Mikah has mad improv skills and he knows how to channel that energy to mesh with the team. Yes. Yessity yes. Great addition. The new Q&A segment is super and I'm totally on board with anything that gives us more Frank the Tank (PhD). Finally, I love that we're getting more Ge*rgia-D*w answers. One of the things that makes Isometric great is that it's not all topical news (and chaos); there are also interesting discussions of long-term improvements that can be made inside and outside the games sphere. Georgia's expertise really helps tie that back in to the listeners at home and what we can do to improve our world. I respect the Ge*rgia D*w out of you all and it's great that you have all these varying viewpoints and opinions I sometimes don't agree with. You have and continue to achieve Gaming With Perspective. Transform and roll out!

I gave it the old college try
Listened to this podcast for months but alas, I can't take it anymore. Love the perspective that Georgia brings and Maddy always makes me laugh. Steve is probably my favorite though because he's a normal gamer like me. I just can't take the political b.s. from Bri that brings a halt to all the fun banter at a moments notice. It's fine to have an opinion, just don't force it on people trying to brighten their day. Unsubscribed.

Needs more focus gaming, less on antics.
Show ends up being annoying in an attempt to be 'wacky'. Has some interesting insights on gaming and gaming culture when they finally get past amateur attempts at humor. Cut those parts out and you have a decent podcast.

No Good!
Lucky for this podcast that most of its fans aren't in to games as the hosts are stupefyingly misinformed about games and the industry therein. Constant mispronounciations of titles, little knowledge of game creators and even less insight in to the games industry as a whole.

The people have spoken!
The Isometric team recently set up a poll asking people what they liked about the show. Unfortunately, the 2nd most popular result was something like "Goofy Fun". That means we'll be seeing even more in-jokes, chummy backpatting and frippery, which I find tough to sit through. If you like that sort of thing, you're in great hands with this crew. The show has been on the bubble for me for a while. I really do like Myers, Dow, and Wu, and I take a lot of stock in their opinions and professional insight, but I've grown impatient with the dwindling ratio of insight to 'goofy fun'. I learned a lot in the meantime, so thanks for a pretty good year.

Gaming from the BEST perspective
Isometric is one of the best gaming podcasts in the biz. Every one of the hosts is super-knowledgeable, and the unique perspectives that Brianna Wu, Georgia Dow, Maddie Myers, and Steve Lubbitz bring will have you thinking about games in a whole new way. Put this show and Fresh Out of Tokens in your podcast rotation RIGHT NOW.

Hi Steve!
First of all, hi Steve how are you doing? Anydoodles, this is the best gaming podcast. Not only because of Mechagodzilla (sorry Georgia) but the pure randomness. They cover everything from manipulating your spouse to bad website design *cough* Frank *cough*. If your looking for gaming with perspective look no further than ISOMETRIK!

Fun and informative
I don’t usually listen to what I call “3-guys-in-a-room” style podcasts, but this is the one exception. I think the show works so well because, even when I’m not invested in the game/topic they’re discussing, they have strong personalities that make the show entertaining. I’m not really the kind of gamer this show is designed for, but I still enjoy having them keep me up-to-date on what’s going on.

Hypocritical?
I feel like this show needs to rename itself. Isometric doesn't accurately describe this show about games but not really about games. Half the hosts (Maddy and Brianna Wu) seem to enjoy bashing anyone with a different view than themselves. In the latest episode they just blasted anyone who might be an Adam Sandler fan, which clearly do not exist, just like female gamers, right ladies? The other two hosts seem to get a kick out of it or are too afraid to speak up and correctly point out the hypocritical views the other two have. Typically the first half of the show isn't even about games it feels like. I get it, they're all friends and this is their show. Unfortunately I feel like they're limiting their show's potential listeners by being condescending know it alls for half an episode. Then the other half seems to be about feminism and how terrible men and gamers are. I listened for 50 some odd episodes but they have lost me as a viewer. My time is valuable and I refuse to hope that this set of hosts will take their chemistry and use it to make a great show. Instead it just feels like it's a massive waste time time and if you're not of the same opinion as them you're an Adam Sandler fan. Georgia and Steve should ditch the other two and create their own show. Let the other two complain on some other show that isn't about games.

Put this in your ears
Can we talk about the hosts of this podcast? They are funny, qualified, knowledgeable, and have great on-air chemistry. Listening to this podcast is like sitting in on a conversation with your laid-back nerdfriends while they chat about videogames. They mix a throughtful perspective with a genuine spirit of fun. A must for understanding the hardware and culture of modern gaming.
A scary indictment of gamer culture. Wish they could highlight positive elements of gamer culture too. But knowing Ms. Wu's history with gamergate I can understand the negativity. But the team does a great job on the podcast. A must for understanding the hardware and culture of modern gaming.

A Pleasant Surprise
Just this morning I was thinking to myself how much I wish that once in a while I could listen to a game/tech podcast that included diverse voices. Something that didn't spend three hours per week on AAA titles only. Something inclusive, where the jokes weren't only relevant to the podcasters. Something where they didn't constantly talk over each other. I tried Isometric at random, and imagine my surprise when they hit every item on my wish list, and then gave me more than I had even hoped for. I'm in from now on.

Crackalackin’!
This podcast is a mature discussion on video games. The hosts are funny and even when they agree on something they usually have different reasons why, which makes for great listening. It’s also great to hear from women (and 1 guy) in an industry that is overshadowed by men. These fantastic four hosts will make you think differently. I’m happily surprised to say this is the podcast I look the most forward to every week. Give it a try. UPDATE: When these guys talk about games it’s worthy of 5 stars. However, more and more they just joke around and it gets tiring to listen to them. Especially when you listen for gaming content and what you get is the hosts making fun of each other. This used to be a podcast about gaming from a new perspective but it has turned into a podcast about people who obviously get along with one another that rarely talk about gaming.

One of the best out there
I treat my podcasts like TV shows. With 60+ podcast series that I subscribe to, I don’t have the time for listening to them all. Instead I pick what sounds good for the moment and listen and let old episodes fall off as newer ones release. With one exception, and that being Isometric. I never miss an episode, and will put off listening to any other podcast once a new Isometric releases. The long running jokes, deep topics and unfiltered opinions are a breath of fresh air. Keep up the good work!

Never miss an episode
I'm the primary caregiver for my 1-year-old and I work two jobs, so free time is limited and precious. Still, I make time to listen to Isometric every week because it's always worth my time. Brianna Wu, Maddy Myers, Georgia Dow, and Steve Lubitz bring passion, intelligence, and professional experience to talk not only about video games, but also the relationship between games and culture as well as how games can get better. However, what makes Isometric truly special is the genuine collegiality one feels from the hosts. While they often disagree with each other and argue their opinions passionately, their friendship and respect are always apparent (particularly in the gleeful digs they cast at each other). After a few episodes, I felt like I was in the presence of close friends--enjoying their company, laughing at inside jokes, learning from shared experiences, and always receiving some insight to ponder over the next few days. The hour-plus spent here is always a joy.

Finally! A space in gaming that's safe
I start listening to your podcast on recommendation from my friend and it's great. I kinda had a falling out with gaming as a trans person and feminist as I became more aware of the problematic elements of games. It is so great to have a podcast where I don't have to worry about people siding with the ablist/misogynist/transphobic parts of gaming and where I can look to for recommendations of games that are LGBTQIA+ and feminist friendly. I'm looking forward to playing Life is Strange on your recommendations!

Hi, I'm Sean, and I'm an Isometriholic
I'm also a white male gamer working in technology. I just want to come here and show my support for the show and specifically for Brianna, who is basically the Rosa Parks of gaming. I'm also the new father of a beautiful baby girl, who if I'm in any way successful as a father, will be a gamer girl and nerd of the highest order. You all are an inspiration and are blazing a path to a world in which I won't have to fear passing on those traits to her. Thank you. Your vigilance will not go unappreciated. This show is awesome. It's a perfect mix of personalities giving not just a new perspective on games and the gaming world, but a fresh look into the trials and injustice in the game development and games journalism industries. If you have ears and you like games, or are just plain sick of the misogynistic garbage in other gaming media, this is the podcast for you. F# GamerGate. Come find me on Twitter @seanhansell.

Literally the best
I've been searching for a gaming podcast to listen to religiously for years now, but everything has always been lacking in some way. The cast has great chemistry and even though I disagree with pretty much everyone at some points it is refreshing because its more like discussing games with my friends, sure some people will disagree and maybe even opinions will shift over time, but thats what makes discussion worth it!

One of the best gaming podcasts you'll find.
There's many well done gaming podcasts but Isometric is genuinely one of the most interesting gaming-centric podcasts you'll find online. All four hosts bring really informative and interesting points of view. It's extremely rare to find any gaming podcasts with three females and one male, let alone one this good. They bring their thoughts out on certain topics without getting bombastic, a trait many gaming podcasts tend to have. The discussions themselves are very easy going (beyond the occasional rant or argument *cough*desertgolfing*cough*) and they will never stop themselves from having fun, wether it's a rendition of the PokeRap or swooning over the hot guys of Final Fantasy. They also find time to bring in great guests like Danielle Riendeau and Gita Jackson for their GOTY 2-parter. The only other podcast I can think of that's as unique by comparison here is 8-4 Play. It's that good. tl:dr This show is fantastic and deserves more love from the gaming community. Brianna, Maddy, Georgia and Steve are fantastic hosts that craft a great podcast. Cannot recommend enough.

Best way to start out Monday
Isometric is definitely my favorite podcast, and I look forward to listening to it at work each Monday morning. The hosts have great chemistry together, especially when disagreeing on a topic. And I’m not gonna lie — it’s great to see a podcast about games where women aren’t the minority. I’d definitely recommend this to people who don’t consider themselves gamers but want to learn more about different kinds of games.

Awesomely fun to listen to
I'm not sure why I started listening to this podcast outside of the fact I've met Georgia and became curious when she mentioned it on another podcast she co-hosts. But I can't say I regret it. It's as I titled, awesomely fun to listen to and it's about more than just the act of gaming itself which is also what makes it highly interesting and informative. If you play games you're a gamer so give it a listen.

The only gaming podcast I listen too
Or, Why I listen to a podcast on a topic I’m not interested in. I listen to a lot of podcasts, and I do mean a lot of podcasts. It’s not unusual to see me with headphones in at the coffee shop, or wandering around the house doing house stuff and getting through 50-60 hours of podcasts. To give you an idea, the podcast app Overcast has a metric on how much time you’ve saved using its “Smart Speed” setting that takes out some of the silent pauses in a podcast. That number is over 60 hours so far, and Overcast hasn’t been out that long. I also listen to most podcasts at 2x speed (or higher), so I get through a lot in a week. The usual suspect are in my list, and no one who know me would be surprised to find ATP, The Talk Show, Mac Break Weekly, iPad Today, DTNS, Mac Power Users, MacCast, NozillaCast and many others in my list. But one does stand out a little, and that is Isometric, which is a show about the video game industry. I am not a gamer. The consoles I’ve owned in the last decade are a Wii and a PS3 that I bought last year, after the PS4 came out. The only game I’ve played much at all in the last 15 years or so is World of Warcraft, though I’ve recently decided to stop playing that. I occasionally play something for a little while on the PS3, or I play short casual games on the iPad. The last FPS I played was Unreal Tournament. The only exception to this in recent memory is that I did play all of Beyond Two Souls, but that was more like an interactive film than a game. But enough about my credentials (or rather, lack of credentials); suffice to say I am not a gamer, I don’t own current generation consoles, I don’t play a lot of games, and so a podcast about gaming and the gaming industry in particular seems an odd choice. I can’t say exactly what cause me to subscribe to the podcast, but it was something on twitter around episode 6. I went back and listened to all the shows and was hooked, but not on the game talk. First of all, the show is basically Brianna Wu, Maddy Myers, and Georgia Dow talking on all sorts of subjects having something to do with games and gaming while Steve Lubitz tries to keep the show on track. Some sort of track. It goes off the rails. A lot. Sometimes Steve goes off on an extended rant on Nintendo or Pokemon (aren’t they the same thing?). It would be more accurate to say that sometimes it returns to the rails for brief periods. Which is fine, because what makes the podcast so appealing to listen to is that these are four very different people, each of which I can identify with in some way, who are having an intelligent conversation. And that, on its own, is interesting and engaging. They could be talking about cheese and it would still be compelling. Please don’t talk about cheese. The other thing that I find interesting is that I don’t find myself identifying with any one of the hosts more than the others like, say, on ATP. I don’t identify at all with Steve, for example, because he’s not only devoted to Pokemon, he’s not a movie buff, he’s only seen like 4 movies ever. I kid. Slightly. Maddy is much more of a gamer than I ever was, and Georgia is a much nicer and more-level headed person that I could ever be, and Brianna—well, she’s like a force of nature; it’s just best to step back and watch from a safe distance. But the interaction of these four is something special. So if you’ve been avoiding it because you aren’t a gamer, don’t. Give it a listen and I think you’ll find it something quite remarkable. If you’re looking for a place to start to see if you are going to like it as much as I do, I recommend starting with episodes 16-19, in order. Dowabunga, dude!

A great show!
I don't use iTunes for Podcasts - I strictly use Downcast, so the fact that I had to open iTunes to make this review means I feel strongly enough about the show to inconvenience myself, and for me that takes some motivation! ;) TL:DR - Great podcast on games with an eye towards equality in games and the tech industry! All three hosts are knowledgeable and bring a different perspective to the table. The hosts don't always agree but there is discussion not arguing and I can agree with almost every point each side of a discussion makes. Thoughtful, insightful, and downright fun. The chemistry between the hosts is wonderful and you can tell they genuinely care for each other, the audience, and the industry as a whole. Expect to laugh and, at times, feel sorrow as you join the hosts on their journey.

Awesome cast, great gaming coverage!
This has quickly become my favorite podcast due to the huge variety of gamer hosts, not least of which it's one of the few podcasts with a fair amount of women's perspectives and touches on other minority gamers' perspectives, too, including the autism scale. The bond shared by the co-hosts is easy to hear with how quickly they diverge from the topic of games themselves to playfully teasing their co-hosts. That's not to say they don't cover a lot of news, and any guests they invite always seem to fit in with the main four perfectly. Very funny (aside from the more downer episodes, but even they eventually cheer up and that's only really two episodes overall up until now (latest as of the time of this review is episode 34)), very insightful, 10/10!

Great Discussion, Great Chemistry
This podcast does something great: it finds the deeper topics of interest and discussion regarding the current trends in gaming. Rather than just delve into super fine detail about a game I may or may not be playing, it uses certain games to explore some of the broader and deeper topics worth thinking about. And it does all this from a unique and necessary perspective, one often overlooked in the medium at large. The hosts also have fantastic chemistry between themselves. It’s both enjoyable and enlightening to listen to them banter, discuss, and disagree. I’m a recent listener, but I’ll be around for a long time.

Fun, Funny, Extremely Charming
I haven't listened to a gaming podcast in a long while, I find that a good deal of them seem like extended comercials. Isometric, however, can spend half its running time on a throw away denny's game or desert golf and still stay relevent, funny and extremely engaging. This is a testament to how well all four personalities work together to show completely different views of the same game/topic. I can't pick a favorite host though since each aligns with a different aspect of myself, you guys are fantasic and I hope to listen to many more episodes to come.

Not a lot of main characters or story lines may have my face in gaming but this podcast radiates my voice, validates my concerns as well as champions the things I hold most dear and for that I am a forever supporter. Dowabunga autocorrected = Does bungs!
I heard about Isometric when John Siracusa mentioned it in an episode of ATP. I started with episode 16, and I look forward to new episodes every week. I'm slowly making my way through the archive of earlier episodes, and it's amazing that the chemistry among the hosts has been there since the very beginning. Like other reviews have mentioned, it's like listening in on a conversation about video games and gaming culture between really good friends. Harnessed properly, Georgia's laugh could bring world peace and solve climate change. And, while nobody mentions Maddy's laugh, I find it just as infectious as Georgia's. Big thanks to both Bri and Steve for fighting the good fight: Bri, you're such a good role model for my daughters, I know that what you deal with today will make things better for my girls. And Steve, I am definitely more aware now when I hear people speak with intolerance about kids on the spectrum. Much Respect!

I became a Fanda by way of Brianna and Maddy's guest spots on the Justice Points podcast a little while ago. Over the last few weeks I've been catching up on the archives and have enjoyed every minute. The four hosts (and occasional guest) talking shop each week brings me actual, factual joy. Each host brings a unique and entertaining perspective to the discussion each week, sharing insight shared on the current events in the gaming industry. The podcast is also incredibly funny, in large part due to the great chemistry and friendships of the Isometric team. I would recommend Isometric to anyone who has a passing interest in gaming. Keep Up the Great Work
I can only give this podcast 5 stars because most of my gaming nowadays is Letterpress on my phone. I am blind to the charms of console games. Even so, I listen with interest when games are discussed, with sorrow when abusive or threatening behavior is described, with close attention and pleasure overall because I’m hearing good people talk about (at least some of) what matters to them. I feel lucky to listen in.

I'm not a gamer. I'm not a developer. I'm a media producer and creative person. I love hearing from people who are passionate about what they do and enjoy creating things they are passionate about. I have heard Georgia and Brianna on other podcasts before this one and they are the reason I started listening to this one. Brianna Wu is especially and exceptionally worth listening to and supporting in this endeavor and in her game development company (Giant Spacekat). She is awesome in the face of the full-frontal stupidity that is Twitter and the Internet. Support her and this podcast to keep really interesting content about games being produced. Thanks for for such an insightful, fun, and interesting podcast!

A singularly great gaming podcast.
This show brings together an excellent cast with a rapport that rivals any show I’ve yet heard. It’s naturally and ingeniously funny. I heard about the podcast when Wu was on HuffPo tv and thought the show sounded interesting. What I didn't realize was how much fun it would be. The four hosts (all with dif backgrounds like therapy or game design) have a lot of fun chatting about games, news, and random silly stuff. I listened to ep 16 while grocery shopping and laughed several times over talk about 1% off coupons for hand turkey drawings. I usually turn off shows when I get back home, but I HAD to keep listening to the rest of it. My gaming is mostly ios/kongregate, but I'm still fascinated by the discussions. One of my “can’t miss” podcasts
“You’re listening to Isometric every week. I’m listening to Isometric every week. Why don’t we just listen together?” I didn’t think such a simple question would nearly start a fight at my house, but it did as my husband and I have few overlapping podcast-ready hours in our week. Listening together means that sometimes we have to wait a while to get to Isometric, but it’s always worthwhile. Brianna, Georgia, Maddy, and Steve have great chemistry and I always have at least one major giggle fit per episode, even when they tackle heavy issues.

They're beauty and they're grace
They wont stab you in the face! I just... Wanted to rhyme. I'm sorry. I love this show so much. It made me want to play video games after years of feeling alienated and frustrated with the industry and community. Casual, informative, and funny. A+ People, A+ show.

The Internet's Most Destructive Videogame Podcast
A fantastic look at gaming, that occasionally gets really crazy. Also one of the few you want to listen to from the beginning since it's less about up-to-the-minute news and mroe about culture in general. It also helps to get some of the jokes, though it doesn't make them less weird.

Not a Gamer, Love it Anyway
I’m not at all a gamer, but I came because of a recommendation from the ATP guys, I stayed because of really thoughtful discussions about women in technology, and I check back each week because Georgia Dow has the most entrancing laugh you’ve ever heard. Content is obviously heavily directed toward gaming, but I really like the development angle brought into it for more of a “behind the scenes” look than a straight-up game review show (which they throw in for good measure, too). I drop one star only because of the occasional production quality issues that I find “take me out of the moment,” but otherwise you can very much see yourself in this crew, sitting in a coffee shop, talking about your favorite tech stuff.

Informative and entertaining gaming podcast
I’m not a podcast person, or at least I wasn’t until I found this show. The hosts get along really well and there’s great chemistry. The show is well-organized and well-edited, and it’s well worth your time!

Weekly Dose of Fun
Here’s the thing. The isometric podcast is hilarious and entertaining, but… it’s also very important. In a world filled with guys talking about video games, the different perspective this podcast provides is great and important. I love that this podcast touches on a wide variety of games, casual iOS games, AAA console and PC games, and indie games across the spectrum. PS. Follow the hosts and the show on twitter to keep the fun going throughout the week.

Listening to Isometric like a good panda bear
Now, this is the story all about how My life got flipped-turned upside down And I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there I'll tell you how much about Isometric I care On the west coast of Norway, born and raised On the internet is where I spent most of my days Chillin' out, maxin', relaxin' all cool And all tweetin’ 'bout some grammatical rule When a couple of trolls who were up to no good Started makin' trouble in my neighborhood I got in one little fight, Steve and Bri got scared And said, "You're listenin’ to Isometric so you’re better prepared” I begged and pleaded with them the other day But they added the feed and sent me on my way They gave me a kiss and turned up the sound I put my iPhone on and said, “I'll come around!" First class, yo this is bad Playin’ games like they’re totally mad Is this what the people of Isometric are livin' like Hmmm, this might be alright But wait, I hear they're prissy, bourgeois and all that Is this the type of place that they should send this northern cat? I don't think so, I'll see when I get there I hope they’re prepared for a Norwegian to care Well, uh, the podcast appeared and when I hit play There was a dude in a panda suit and some hand turkey give away I ain't tryin' to unsubscribe, I just hit play I hit pause, took a break, like on the lord’s day I tweeted for some help and people replied They said keep going, there’s dowabunga ahead If anything I could say that this show had pride But I thought, nah forget it, let’s just let it slide I fetched all the files about seven or eight And I yelled to the tweets, "Yo homes, smell you later" Looked at my feeds, I was finally there Listening to Isometric like a good panda bear

The premiere choice in gaming podcasts
This podcast is hosted by four people who live and breathe video games and clearly have for a while. While this may not be ideal in many social situations, it is a perfect trait for hosts of a gaming podcast. They may not talk about the exact game or gaming issue YOU want to talk about, but they probably could. They may not echo YOUR opinion, but they probably do not care to. The hosts are not afraid to offer judgments or even disagree with each other. This is refreshing. Listeners are never unsure how Steve REALLY feels about Nintendo. Maddy is clear in her preference for game art over game kitsch, and explains the difference eloquently. Georgia can leap into a topic and illuminate the nuances and intricacies of a gaming issue effortlessly like erudite lightening bug on a June evening. Brianna is always happy to explain more why she feels some technical details of a game's development are, not only poor design choices, but unethical usages of system resources. This podcast is the premiere choice for gaming podcasts. It is both broad and in depth. It is caring, yet unflinching, in its resolve when it comes to discussing games thoughtfully. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll laugh until you cry, you'll cry until you laugh... and maybe, just mabye, you'll learn a little bit about yourself along the way. You will definitely learn about games. That much is certain.

Great Show
This is one of my recent favorites. Here’s how the rating was scored: ★ for “Dowabunga” ★ for Georgia’s laugh (seriously, someone needs to preserve this in the National Archives) ★ for hand turkeys, pandas, fandas, and general silliness ★ for discussing gaming in way that an outsider (me) can understand and stay interested ★ for every story of Frank being the worst gamer ever

Great Podcast for any person, gamer or not.
TL;DR: This podcast is amazing and you should listen to it! I often listen to the show when I go to the gym but once Georgia begins laughing and Brianna starts teasing her more, I just lose it and can’t help but start laughing myself. Many times I have lost focus on a workout due to Georgia’s laughter and everyone losing it on the show. I highly, highly recommended giving this podcast a listen because the content that is discussed gives insight to issues currently being dealt in the game industry and video games. The four co-hosts have such great chemistry that you can’t help but feel somewhat connected to their ideas and thoughts on whatever subject they discuss. If the co-hosts discuss something that is serious, they some how bring it back to being happy. I like that Brianna Wu gives her technical observations in games and software because many, gamers or not, don’t know what goes into making games. Georgia Dow contributes great knowledge that links video games and psychology that many people often look the other way at. Maddy Myers brings her spunky attitude that often brings different views of video games because of her journalist background. Finally Steve Lubitz brings the show back when the ladies hijack it involving Sailor Moon or TMNT or just goes along with it. I deeply respect their views and can’t get enough of their shenanigans when they start getting goofy. This show makes me smile and laugh.

Fantastic!
I don't have as much time for podcasts as I once did, but I've been finding the time to binge on all the back episodes of Isometric over the last week; I should probably feel guilty at how much I've listened to this while "working" but I can't because the show is just that awesome. Here's hoping they all stick around for a long, long time. Oh, and if I had a podcast that just featured Georgia's laugh, I'd probably never be sad again.

Topical, Exhaustive and Hilarious
The Isometric team covers a lot of ground each episode. Easily boiling down complicated tech features for less tech savvy listeners and complex social issues affecting game fans of every stripe. It never feels like a lecture even when they're on message and when they're not it's hilarious to hear them bust each other's chops. (mainly Steve's) Definitely worth your time.

Informative with genuine heart
You get 5 stars... but that's all... Thanks a lot you jerks... why'd you have to have such an excellent podcast. Why couldn't you just be good not great. You know how hard it is to listen to the rest of my podcasts now? I hope you're satisfied. Seriously though great GREAT show. I thought I was already listening to one of the best videogame podcasts (which I won't name... I'd just be shaming them). You've totally proven me wrong. I love the panel/group you have. I'm not sure what it is but I feel more connected to the show. It feels welcoming... while at the same time it isn't just catering to what maybe an audience might want to hear (if that makes any sense). It feels genuine and intelligent. They talk about interesting topics with such an honesty to their words.

Look, just Dowabunga. This is a fantastic show for any mood or activity where you want a podcast to listen to! Whether it's during a commute or playing a game on easy mode, it's just fun to listen to. Even though it's a games podcast, it's completely engaging even if you're a non-gamer. Only gaming podcast I know that isn't patronising
The vast majority of people talking about videogames on the internet use "facts" and "objectivity" to speak from a position of power in relation to the listener, distancing themselves. Isometric ditches that structure and gives us critical, personal views on the gaming world that are never presented from that boring perspective. It is refreshing to listen to and everyone I introduce the show to turns into a fanda, from my coworkers to my 8 year old. I recommend this to anyone that has even the mildest interest in games and, even if you don't, you'll love their jokes anyway. We need more voices like those.

This is my review
I hadn't heard of this podcast until I became a member of the feminist Illuminati. Instead of our volcano-fortress meetings we actually just communicate through Isometric now. I have to say, the embedded secret code used to spread our subversive message is top-notch! Anyway, serious part of the review: the hosts have great chemistry and they're genuinely hilarious. They've made me think about issues that no one else really talks about. I sent Georgia a message one time and she replied; I think she might be the nicest person who exists.

Keeping it real
This is a great set of hosts, offering perspectives on video games from the sides of a developer, journalist, parent, and psychiatrist, though it would be a mistake to distill each person to those roles/occupations. They all speak from a rich pool of experiences with honesty, insight, and plenty of humor. They're not above any genre of game, so listeners can hear about fighters, AAA titles, tv spinoff iOS games, indie hybrids, and the far more beyond those. This is not a review show so much as as it feels like listening in on the conversation of a knowledgeable group of friends. Topics include game development budgets, the major influences of eighties action movies on games, toxicity within online communities, and… Yoshi's full name? I feel like I keep inundating this review with lists, but it's because I have difficulty expressing the depth and variety that this show provides. There's so much to love, and I can't recommend this podcast enough.

My new favorite podcast (well, tied for favorite)
I've listened to five shows now and this has become one of my can't miss podcasts, the other being Idle Thumbs. Both shows have a mix of developers and journalists and I think it's this mix that as a hobby level game designer I am drawn to. The hosts all have great chemistry together and their genuine enjoyment of each other's company comes through in the discussions. In every episode I've not only laughed, I've picked up something that will help me make better games. I think this show is great for anyone playing or making games and entertaining enough to be enjoyed by a significant other who may not share the same passion for the medium.

Best thing on the web. Also telepathic.
A loopy, hilarious conversation among obviously good friends which often talks about games. I’m a lapsed gamer and I just realized that I partly left because I was missing the point of view this show provides. Also, they just answered a question I’ve been meaning to ask on Twitter before I asked it.

Hosts are friends with real jobs, limited time, and good taste in games. It's like hanging out with people just like me but way better at audio production. Update: I’ve now listened to every single episode. I cannot recommend this show highly enough. I love it, i look forward to it, it's unique… and it’s helped me to realize how sad that fact really is. Thank you to every one of the hosts that put this thing together.

A great show if you love playing video games
The mix of personalities as well as the love of playing video games is what really shines in this podcast. It’s a video game podcast by adults, for adults and I love how the discussion is about not just the latest greatest but also looks back at games as well at times. If you want to hear about video games from the perspectives of a player, a journalist, a developer as well as from a man or woman all at the same time then this is the podcast for you. Also it has fandas and hand turkeys.

One of the best gaming podcasts
Isometric is one of the smartest, funniest podcasts I listen too. I discovered it a few weeks ago and was immediately hooked. In less than two dozen episodes they’ve already established a great rapport and several bizarre but accessible inside jokes. Episode 18, in particular, is great. There are some serious emotional highs and lows — from a Pokemon rap to a discussion of recent harassment and misogyny in the video game industry to a (very entertaining) discussion of a bizarre pigeon dating sim. Good stuff.

Only podcast I follow
Over the years I’ve tried a few times to get into podcasts and Isometric is the first one that I’ve actually developed a liking for; especially among game podcasts, which just tend to be a few dudes talking dude things. Hosts are personable and funny, and there’s no way I’m going to pick a favorite. The greatest thing about it is listening feels like a conversation among friends and not someone trying to push or market something, even when the hand turkeys come up!

Great podcast on its way up
There’s something magical about catching a really good podcast on its way up. The format hasn’t frozen into a stale rut. The hosts and guests are still feeling their way out, and trying different things. At the same time, a lot of new podcasts are prone to errors which, while not unfixable, can make them unenjoyable, particularly on the technical end: bad sound, bad editing, and so on. Isometric has all of the the benefits of a newer podcast that’s really gelling, and none of the latter. From a technical perspective, it’s great: everyone is very nicely mic’ed the sound is clean, and it’s tightly edited. But it feels fresh, and the various personalities mesh beautifully while still giving different viewpoints. It’s made Mondays the high point of my week when it comes to freshly released podcasts.

A Perfect New Addition to your Podcast Library
What’s wonderful about Isometric is that Brianna, Georgia, and Maddy (and yeah, Steve too) all bring completely unique presences to the show, and they’re amazing because of who they are, not because of the fact that they’re adding three female voices to podcast medium and the gaming industry, both of which are both sadly low on female voices.

Fun and smart
I really like this. Intelligent discussion from a smart panel that includes actual game developers and journalists with distinctive personalities and voices. “Different perspective" is right: not only is it a mostly female panel, but the perspectives of gamers, developers, and games journalism are all represented and considered in the show. Funny and personable, and has a good signal to noise ratio—there’s not much filler in these hour long episodes. If you like ATP or The Incomparable, but wish John Siracusa were a bit meaner, you’ll probably like Brianna Wu and the Isometric crew.

Informative, thoughtful, and hilarious
I’ve listened to a lot of video game podcasts over the years, and this one is far and away the best. It’s incredible how even in the very first episode, the hosts have an easygoing and fun, but thoughtful dynamic. True to the show’s tagline, each host brings a unique perspective, and as a whole they cover almost every aspect of gaming, from the regular gamer to parents, critics, and developers, all while keeping things friendly and accessible. Not to mention everyone has a great sense of humor, making the show relentlessly entertaining. If you only listen to one video game podcast, Isometric should be it.

Fun, insightful conversations
Isometric is the best new podcast I have found in a while. Fun, insightful discussion of a wide variety of game and tech-related topics, with just the right amount of silliness. Who knew I needed another podcast about games or tech? Apparently I do, and this is it. The show has a refreshing voice, standing out among the remarkable sameness of the many other podcasts on similar topics.

A Much Needed Podcast
In an industry saturated with male voices and which often panders to the same's interests, Isometric is an absolutely refreshing injection of intelligent discussion and wit. I'd been looking for a good gaming industry podcast for a long time - one that wasn't a group of nerdbros doing their nerdbro thing. Brianna, Maddy, Georgia, and Steve are the answer to this need. All of them bring different perspectives to the discussion of various aspects of the industry and issues within them; they also all have excellent taste, and I've found some great new games to try out just from listening to their podcast. My only regret is that they don't have a deep catalogue of episodes - I've gone through their archive five times during my daily commute this past month!

Keep it up!
Before I get to content I want to mention this podcast has great audio quality and fluid conversations. With four people not in the same room together and without the same recording equipment those are both hard to get right. The show is good at staying focused on current events in both indie gaming and mainstream gaming. They cover their own experiences working in the gaming world, some of their opinions on the current events in gaming and culture, and conclude with the "what you're playing this week" segment. They all bring a different experience and taste in games to the dialogue and it's evident in what they are playing every week. This podcast fits right in with 5by5's shows.

The best gaming podcast
I listen to a lot of gaming podcasts. The Patch, Podcast Beyond, Podcast Unlocked, Game Scoop, The Escapist Gaming Podcast, and the Games Radar Podcast when it was a thing. I probably listen to more than that, or have in the past, and just can't think of them. They're all fine, but this one is better. Why? Well, the four hosts of Isometric have distinct but well-informed viewpoints, and the topics they cover, though topical, are more than just expressions of how excited they are that video games are a thing. They address deeper issues, but they also keep things light and continually moving. This isn't the hype train and this isn't four loud amateurs screaming at each other about who would win, Cloud or Squall. This is a considered and intelligent discussion of video games and gaming culture that pulls away the juvenile attitude of the established games media and instead makes you feel proud to be a gamer. If a grown-up approach to gaming sounds lame to you, you can always listen to something else. But if you have ever paid a bill on time and like to think games are more than just pretty murder simulators, check out Isometric.
