More of a TV script than Podcast script
Don’t get me wrong, the idea, and concept is good. And good content. It’s just how it was presented. This felt more like I was listening to a tv show going on than actually LISTENING to what’s happening and getting to imagine it on my own. And at times it gets confusing. Like something major happens but the sound is a bunch of yelling and shooting, and you can’t tell what’s going on and don’t understand till the end when the explain it. I enjoyed it, just wish it was done better.

Shockingly pedestrian
Textbook example of mediocrity. What was the point of making the most boring, run-of-the-mill, stereotypical police procedural where absolutely nothing happens? What did I just listen to?? Was this like a test to see if people will listen to literally any podcast that has to do with crime? I feel bamboozled.

Play it safe and don’t listen to this one while driving. The podcast features incredible visual storytelling + exceptional acting + superior sound design (which led some of us to miss our exit on the freeway). Parker Posey’s stubborn drive paired with her delicate southern accent carries you through this tense manhunt. Each of us found ourselves getting lost in a beautifully woven auditory escape: pun intended. The story puts the listener in the detective seat, guessing the convicts' next move, all while trying to piece together the motives of this motley crew. The group felt the podcast would have benefited from an additional episode to flush out Deputy Marshall Barnes backstory. We found ourselves questioning her motives based on the few breadcrumbs we were given. What’s our final verdict? We recommend this dramatic and captivating listen and are hoping for a season 2! One of the best!
While this show isn’t Borassca, it’s still one of the best I’ve listened to. The episodes could have been twice as long, making the story a little fuller; but Dick Wolf and his crew didn’t disappoint. The voice acting is incredible, the story is well thought out and good, and it’s just an all around great audio drama. Definitely worth the listen!

Not For A Drive
Each episode is only 20 or so minutes long. 10 mins of those 20 some what minutes are ads, thank you’s and boosting a podcast series we are obvious already listening to! Great for someone who is at their desk or doing something that doesn’t require driving; to only trying to fast forward. Otherwise, very intriguing!!

Production quality is awesome.....
And this is well performed. The storyline was great until the final episode which was poorly written. I’m liberal and I rolled my eyes at the forced politics in the speech of one of the characters. The conclusion is a complete dud without any suspense or satisfaction and the epilogue is completely unnecessary. In the end this series is best ended after episode 7, leaving listeners to come up with their own ending.

Once you get past the fact that it’s fictional and these are actors, which I struggled with for a while after listening to so many true crime podcasts with true stories and real interviews, this story is very exciting and emotional. I loved the excitement and the conclusion. Well written story! Lots of commercials, but well worth it.

Hunted was fast-paced and interesting. It made a long car ride less tedious. It was good, but it could have been so much better. 1. Parker Posey’s southern accent was unbelievable and dreadful. She is a good actress, but she needs a voice coach. 2. The storyline was 100% predictable. No twists. No surprises. It was very amateurish writing. 3. Ruiz’s impassioned plea at the end gets zero sympathy from me. He is an animal and deserves to be locked up for life. 5. The ending was rushed and left me feeling flat. I really enjoyed Hunted, but if the series continues, I hope to see some improvements. I would like to see more (better scripted) podcasts like this.

Just like I’ve been known to binge watch an intriguing show on Netflix, I totally binge listened to this podcast. Suddenly my daily commute was a something I looked forward to! Production quality is better than many other scripted podcasts I’ve listened to., and I found the characters compelling and believable. I hope season two brings a whole new set of characters for Parker Posey and other officials to handle.

Great kick off listen if you’re like me and just getting into the Podcast listening arena. I wish there was more detail in the little things like Emily’s son and his soccer problems, whether Ruiz’s wife actually loved Ruiz, their backstory, as well as a more in-depth finish to the story. I also don’t believe the escapees should’ve died that easily, there should’ve been some real tussle. Also, will there be a season 2? Cause I can’t wait for that!! Needless to say, it’s opened up a whole world of entertainment for me. The story kicks off with the promise of a really hard to catch ‘criminal’, Ruiz. But I feel it just didn’t end well.

Um...what? SPOILERS
Spoiler warning Performances were decent (except for Posey who comes across very forced) and while the story flows fine there are things that just make no sense. Posey plays a US Marshall but at one point her boss tells her she can’t cross state borders? They have to “trace” a cell phone call? There’s shots fired in a building during a hostage situation and the SWAT team doesn’t enter because that would put the hostages in greater danger? None of these are remotely how the real world works. The main bad guy gives a speech at the end where he talks about how the criminal justice system needs to be reformed because he got a life sentence for an armed robbery where no one got hurt but his escape plot results in the murders of at least three people, one of whom is a completely innocent maid who is taken hostage and strangled...yeah I don’t have any sympathy for that guy and I’m not sure how you are supposed to. I enjoy these story based fictional podcasts but this one was a letdown.

Love the story but these Episodes are waaaaay too short with over 2 minutes of commercials and 2 minutes of credits. And why does the guy in his 40s (the “old guy” - whaaaaa?) sound like he’s 83? Geeez, Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt are older than that character and he sounds like he could be their dad!

Stole from the Alabama riots
The accent isn’t a real southern accent. I spent high school in Maryland and there’s plenty of southern accents she could’ve listened to (from Alabama). The story is a rip off of true life. It’s not fiction, it’s plagiarism of a handful of incidents. Try googling first so you’re not pulling this from real life. Victims of the CO that died will get wind of it.

Meh plot
I thought there would be an interesting conspiracy behind the guy being sentenced for so many years which prompted the escape in the first place but it was just a series of characters making dumb decisions. By the end of the season, I felt I wasted my time listening to this unimaginative story.

I think this podcast is brilliantly done. People complaining about the commercials need to get over themselves. Commercials are how Podcasts are brought to us and brought to us for free. Get over it and stop complaining 🙄 You don't like it, don't listen. I love the acting, I love the suspense, and the story. I listen to a lot of different true crime podcasts, but I never came across this type before. I'm hooked and I appreciate the hard work put into this. Keep up the amazing work!

Loving this!
Top notch storytelling and acting. I have blazed through 4 episodes (granted they are short), but each one keeps you absolutely engrossed. I was initially intrigued because I am a huge Parker Posey fan, however, the whole cast is fantastic. The audio itself draws you in because you actually feel like you’re there. This is a great one!

Like Listening To A Blockbuster Movie!
If you close your eyes you will be fooled that this is actually an audio drama! In any other audio drama you can tell they’re voice acting, but this one sounds as if they’re truly acting out the whole episode! I say “whole” episode, but I agree w others that it is very short. Idk how advertising works for podcasts, but if they can shorten the commercials like they shorten the episode.. I think the episodes would feel fuller. But after all the ads, I’ve almost forgotten what was happening & def lost the suspense!! But I understand all the actors have to be paid.. but just know most of us hear the SAME ads on every podcast & we just skip through em.. so plz shorten the credits or ads or lengthen the episodes....

Interesting story line and good characters. However, with commercials, recap of previous episodes, and lengthy credit list, the actual story content is very short; maybe 15 minutes. This makes it difficult to stay interested when so little happens in each episode.

Misaphonia Prevents a Five Star Rating
This is a well-crafted podcast except for one thing. In the beginning of Episode 3, the protagonist and her partner are eating and they include every sound detail of two people eating next to microphones. All the creamy mouth sounds and swallowing clicks. Gag me with a spoon. Storyline is interesting (albeit a touch predictable) and characters are compelling (enough). When I listen to a podcast it’s because I’m busy doing something else that won’t allow for visual stimulation, and this one serves my purpose. Doesn’t make me think too hard, but kept me interested.

Gum chewing and Talking w/mouth full...
For the love of God, you have something amazing here but if your listeners can’t stand your characters chewing and talking with a mouth full of food, it’s for naught. So many people listen to podcasts with earbuds. It’s literally smacking and chewing in your ear. I’m praying the writers read all these reviews and eliminate any and all eating and gum chewing because beyond that, I loved the available episodes.

Relies on Stigmas and stereotypes
The opening sequence of sound bites are examples of overacting. The story line is quickly set up with a female officer being doubted by her superiors as not as capable or experienced. Then she goes through a male contact she has for some additional help (because she apparently can’t do it on her own and needs special help from a man—meaning having the support of this man is what her career rests on) The writer points out how one bad guy is Latino and then when reviewing video surveillance the good guys notice a Latina getting out of a car that was later take (stolen) by the bad guys. The police immediately conclude because she is Latina she must have left the car there for the Latino bad guy. WHAT? How is this racist conclusion allowed in a story that is this heavily produced?! Disgusting. I have a background as a government investigator for a state attorney general. The way people talk about details and cases is juvenile and incorrect. Worse yet, the summaries and questions given to witnesses are inappropriate. No one says to a witness “we think the guys that robbed you are the ones that broke out of prison,” and then question the witness. You’ve tainted the witness! The big announced list of writers and producers etc in the credits is overdone; too self-congratulatory. Really these people should have shame and not want to be known as working on this. Advice to the writer and producers: call a civil rights attorney that deals with civil rights violations by police and have them listen to this and then tell you why this is all wrong This series presents sexism, a weak female reliant on the favor of men, and law enforcement work that’s unfair and poor. You writers have a duty to society to not present this poor police work as normal, fine. It’s not fine. Don’t normalize weak women and racial profiling and racism. Find a different way to make money. And pay for some better writing.
