On History Daily, we do history, daily. Every weekday, host Lindsay Graham (American Scandal, American History Tellers) takes you back in time to explore a momentous event that happened ‘on this day’ in history. Whether it’s to remember the tragedy of December 7th, 1941, the day “that will live in infamy,” or to celebrate that 20th day in July, 1969, when mankind reached the moon, History Daily is there to tell you the true stories of the people and events that shaped our world—one day at a time. So if you’re stuck in traffic, bored at work—wherever you are, listen to History Daily to remind yourself that something incredible happened to make that day historic.

January 6th episode
While I absolutely enjoy this series, I was appalled that the history chosen for the 2023 episode of January 6 was about Nancy Kerrigan being attacked in 1994. Yes, we all know about that, but I’m sorry why would you not do the episode instead about the insurrection (treason) attack on our nation’s democracy and those who were murdered as they tried to protect the Capitol? In short, I was Very disappointed in the chosen topic for the 1/6/23 episode.

Do more research on topics
This is a pretty good podcast, and the episodes are interesting. However, more research needs to be done before releasing the episodes. There was a particular episode in which the assassination of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was covered, painting James Earl Ray as the killer….there is a mountain of evidence and also evidence of coverups by the police and government to show that this is not the case, there’s even a podcast on it where there was exhaustive research and interviews performed to cast extreme doubt on Ray being the killer. There’s another History Daily episode about the assassination of Indira Gandhi where Lindsay is pronouncing Sikh incorrectly, he’s saying “sick” instead of the correct pronunciation of “seek”. There have been other episodes of History Daily in which there were other incorrect pronunciations or information, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and let them go so I don’t remember which ones they are, but I can’t stand idly by while a religion is disrespected with incorrect pronunciation. Please do more research before releasing episodes, I understand we humans make mistakes but this one was so glaring an error that I couldn’t stay silent.

Great except for American History
I love LG, here and on wondery, and he delivers again on this podcast. My only critique is that for every topic on American history the story is so laden with apologies and caveats that I never even know what the original topic was. I’m not a maga person whatsoever, it would just be nice for history to not always sound like the nightly news.

Truly love this show. One note, you might want to redo your ending for episode 98. CDC just admitted all kinds of mistakes. Fauci and Birx are frauds. Closures, mandates and lockdowns ruined far more lives than Covid. Especially for a virus that was far less lethal than Spanish flu.

My History Happy Place
Mr Graham could make the phone book sound interesting! His ability to enliven history and its importance is engaging and delightful. Anyone who thinks there’s a political slant or motivation is just being too sensitive. History isn’t pretty and facts aren’t always pleasant. History is critical to understanding who we are and the consequences of choices made, both good and bad. If we can’t let our political guard down to self-reflective or historically reflective, we are doomed to repeat our mistakes. Or just as bad, we will fail to improve our world and miss opportunities to make changes that benefit everyone.

Known an unknown tidbits
In 20 minute segments, Lindsay Graham gives an overview of a historical event that occurred on the same calendar date. I thoroughly enjoyed the episode of June 15, when in 1215, King John signed the Magna Carta. Every American should understand how this event was central to our democracy. I have known generally the meaning of the Magna Carta but the episode provided important context.

History of the Netherlands
The recent “history of the Netherlands” was quite a bomb. You can do better. If you need a narrator to read aloud the brochure from the History of Textiles Museum in Amsterdam, at least get a guy with a Dutch accent, rather than Cockney-English one.

Inaccurate
I had been listening and a sub for quite a while until you chose to do the history of Joseph Smith's murder yesterday. First, Mormon's care deeply about this subject, the first hand testimony of one of two men (something you seem to have failed to realize) in the room when Joseph Smith was murdered is part of canonized LDS scripture. This subject is studied, researched, and written about regularly by LDS scholars. Your account of the murder was not only inaccurate, but it also seemed to be bent towards the lynch mob and persecuters. Besides this, your account of Missouri missed the imprisionment of Joseph Smith in Liberty Jail the existance of the Missouri extermination order, and the murders of Mormons in Missouri, Joseph Smith's trip to Washington was to seek reparations for the unlawful seizure of Mormon properties in Missouri (no request to make Nauvoo an independent territory was made) and the actual reason Joseph was required to go to Carthage, In fact, it seems like you avoided any and all scholarly material available. Did you rely only on material that was critical of Mormonism? Makes me wonder how accurate your episodes with which I am unfamiliar can be.

In a world flush with podcasts and even history podcasts, this one is worth your time. Good production quality, wide range of topics and succinct storytelling that can’t be understated. I don’t understand the complaints about leftist bias when so many episodes are about White Americans and Europeans. Only complaint is ads seem to be increasing in frequency and length.

Dishonest and misleading.
I’ve been listening for a while and I noticed a definite left of center slant to the historical reporting of this podcast. I couldn’t take it anymore when I listened to episode 134. Lindsay credited Earth Day to a senator from Wisconsin when actuality it was Ira Einhorn, look up the unicorn killer. Earth Day proponents don’t want to give him credit because then you have to look at the evil killer that founded Earth Day. Also, he painted a rosy picture of John Kerry lifting his granddaughter up into his lap as he signed the Paris climate agreement but didn’t mention the John Kerry consistently and often flies around the world on his private jet, has multiple homes and does nothing to lower his carbon footprint. If John Kerry was truly interested in saving the planet and leading by example, he would sell all of his homes except the one he needs and fly commercial. He’s a fraud just like everybody else who says they care about the planet.

I love the bite sized history lessons, the format, and Lindsey’s soothing voice. I don’t think it is political. It’s a show about history and we all know facts don’t care about one’s political leanings. The reviewers that are saying it is political and that it leans center-left seem to be very biased towards the other side so off course they are not going to like it when history doesn’t reflect their views.

History daily is a easily digestible format for those who maybe weren’t the best history students in high school. The show achieves this without sacrificing the painstaking research and accuracy I have come to expect from a Lindsay Graham podcast. It is packed with great information about the worlds major events on the dates they happened. It’s a great addition to my other history based podcast shows, many from Graham, that serve as a great escape and helps me to unwind.

Superb
This is a great “bite sized” history podcast covering from BC to today. Each episode is an approximate 20 minute focus on a random spot of history. Sometimes it’s more info on something you knew. Sometimes it’s brand new info. And for the Jeopardy fan in me, it’s actually good for buffing up some trivia.

Great for Teachers!
I began listening to this podcast a month or so ago. Recently, my students started asking me to play episodes during work time, and they have enjoyed it so much. Our first episode was about Duck Turpin, the (somewhat) inspiration behind “The Highwayman” poem. It was so great to see my students relate the true story to the poem we read in class. Now, any time we can, we listen to episodes!

The bias is strong with this one.
Very left-leaning. Often portrays one sided historical narratives. Storytelling is well done, and the short format comes in convenient bite sizes. However, after listening to numerous episodes, the host’s biases are too obvious to be ignored, and it really detracts from the podcast overall. More balanced narratives would improve the podcast.

“Graham’s View of History Daily”
Just because a show has the word “History” in its title doesn’t mean it’s an actual history show. Lindsay Graham is good at telling stories. Period. If you know nothing about history but enjoy a good short story, then you’ll enjoy this show. If you really want to know what the agenda of this “history” show is then you have 2 options: 1) Read all the reviews that complain about how extremely Left it leans. 2) Listen to the Spanish Flu episode (dated March 11, 2022) in which he spends the last 5 of his 20 minutes praising corrupt Anthony Fauci - the person who “represents Science” - & calls him & Democrat politicians heroes for ignoring the Constitution & infringing upon the Rights of Americans for the last 2 years. When in history have ignoring the Rights of The People “for their safety” & Government Power-Grabs “because of a crisis” ever ended well for any civilians around the world, Mr. Self-Proclaimed History Expert? It’s been 720 days of this Covid government overreach, Lindsay Graham. If you’re still hailing Anthony Fauci of all people as a hero, then you can expect to lose over 50% of your listening audience easily. History is history...just tell the history instead of sticking your liberal views into every show...or just be honest rename the show “Lindsay Graham’s Personal View of Historical Events With Made Up Emotional Characters And A Political Twist Daily.” Stop pretending the show is something it’s not —> which is a show about true history.

This is absolutely one of my favorite podcasts. I look so forward to listening to it every day. And I have learned so much even if I know a bit about the topic..there is always some piece of detail that I didn’t know about. And they stick to the facts. Very well done!

Very enjoyable daily podcast, uniquely engaging in the single narrator format. Lots of negative reviews about the choice of events on a given day, which I counter with the optimism that this podcast will go on longer than a year and there is opportunity to revisit in the future.

Enjoyable, snack-sized daily history bites to feed your brain. I especially enjoy learning about monumental US history events, but I also enjoy the thoroughness of daily worldwide history too. Check it out. It’s a good podcast.

Leftist
It’s fine but comes with an obvious left wing bias. If you’re interested in that you’ll like it. If you’re not you’ll care about the topic maybe half the time.

Good show but beware commercials
The show itself is good, but there are almost 10 minutes of a 20 minute show devoted to commercials. I realize obviously thats the revenue but I can’t do it unfortunately.

Really?
Some days we listen to this podcast and it is good, but the whole idea of it and the topics he chooses aren’t good. He should rename the podcast “White Explorationism, Domination, and Military History Daily”. He mostly just covers wars and violence, and not hopeful, peaceful stuff. Also, he had a ridiculous ad today, “Have you ever wished you had better lips? Well, now, with this company, we can give your lips the look you want! Make yourself look prettier because of course you AREN’T perfect just the way you are!” Really???? Cover better topics, don’t sell ads like that, then maybe I’ll come back and listen again… UPDATE: your most recent episode about the Charlie Hebdo shootings was F***ING SH*T!!! Yeah, it’s bad that 17 French people got killed, and it is horrible that they targeted Jewish people, I am very sad about all this. But your reporting is ridiculous! How many Muslims die everyday from stupid US drone attacks???!!!???!!! “These are terrorists, we must stop them, the freedom of the press succeeds again!” You can’t use the press for hate speech and then say you are only exercising your right to free speech! Give me a f*ck*ng break! Changed to one star.

Not really
The topics are not the most relevant historically. On many occasion he seems to be cherry-picking things to please portions of the audience to keep somebody happy. Typical of everything in the media today. To bad.

High Quality Podcasts
I have a love <> hate relationship with this show (and Noiser’s other shows). Love them because they are high quality, entertaining, educational, interesting and can’t wait everyday for the next episode. Hate them because they’ve pretty much ruined the ability to listen to non-Noiser podcasts because of the quality standard they’ve set for their podcasts and they just can’t be matched. The production, sound effects, recording, and story telling is just beyond anything else out there.

Wow, I’m so glad that you do not avoid the fact that there were good and god-fearing men in American history. Thanks for mentioning the Bible and God and not ignoring these amazingly important parts in each episode. Great podcast, but you focus more on the American side of the world - mostly. Awesome podcast.

Ridiculous JFK Episode
Episode 16, which covers JFK’s assassination, features the kind of analysis you’d expect from a ninth grader whose only exposure to history is a text book written in 1970. The complete elision of the Church and Pike committees, any discussion of the CIA and Allen Dulles’s involvement — both in the planning of the assassination and Warren Commission — or the mob’s hatred of Kennedy, is a travesty of historical writing. If Graham’s coverage of this event is this conservative, shallow, and uninformed it makes me hesitate to listen to any of his other podcasts.

Informative and clean, with a caveat.
Th show is well produced and tells a well done story. My only issue the narrator is a little quick with the story telling and the violins of the music is a little too much and too quick. This is a minor issue but something I’ve noticed. Keep up with the in depth topics!
