My wife has been on a team and I always called them the ghost buster’s. Even though I have had my own experiences in life one being my dreams, I still was a skeptic. Anyway I love you two together. You both have a roll and I find it very entertaining. I just joined the Facebook page and I started with the January 1 2022 show. I’m in May of 2022 now. Prayers for strength and comfort, I am unfortunately I know the loss, I had to put my Dalmatian Chavez down on 2006 he was 16 plus years old, my two current two are the last of my 6 rescues, they are brother and sister from the same litter, Nalah took a fall down my front steps and only two, but it would be like me at 62 fall down a flight, she is better and slept in bed for the first time, so prayers he will be with you always

New to you
I have been listening to you and the other guy, sooty, I forgot his name. Y’all were talking about ghost/shadow people. I live in the same house that my daddy died in in 1973. I had married after he died and when I was 41, I divorced and moved back here to take care of my mama in her late years. When my daughter and I moved back we lived in one side of our duplex and mama lived in the other side. It is an old mill village house. Pretty big when it is open all the way through. My daughter was 15 and one Sunday after Sunday dinner(lunch) she had some of her friends over. I was in the kitchen washing dishes and heard a lot of ‘things’ falling in her room. I went in there to see these 3 teenagers staring at pictures and what nots that FLEW off of her mantle. She had a glass vanity under the mantle but none of the items hit it! I had known that my daddy’s spirit was here so I just picked the stuff up and put it back. They were all saying, we didn’t do it! I had told my daughter before we moved back up here that daddy would come around sometime so she just looked at me. They thought nothing more of it and went off to play softball. I went to the kitchen to finish up and things started thumping in her closet. I came in there, opened the door and her radio and books were falling out of her closet. I just said, ok daddy, we know you are here. My brother had lived on this side after he got married in ‘72. After that day, for the next four years we had numerous visits. He was very prevalent in my daughters room but also throughout these four rooms. I sleep in the bedroom that he died in. He never came passed the threshold of my bedroom. Oh yeah, the 3 knock happened often too. Scared several of my friends to the point that one never came back, others were acceptable. He turned the lights on, the sink water, stuff like that. I’m the fall of 1999, my daughter went to college, I would get up in the morning and the teddy bears and pilllows would be moved and on the floor in her bedroom. He was so protective over her. One night at 2:10 a.m. I woke up and was laying on my side facing the hallway. I SAW his sillouette in my bedroom door. I closed my eyes, opened them really fast to make sure I was seeing right. He was still there. I sat up and said daddy, so I stood up and went toward him. He just moved back thru the hall, into the living room and back into her bedroom and went away. My mother got very sick, dependent on me for everything after this happened. I had also gotten custody of two of my grandchildren and was raising them. They were 4&5 and no, I didn’t tell them. Mama never believed us, my brother by this time had asked me if I ever had things happen and he had experienced the same things when he lived here. So one morning, the 5 yr old came to me and said ‘grandma do you know we have a ghost. I said yes, do you know who it is. She said it is granddaddy and he came to me in my sleep and told me not be scared that he was protecting us. Anyway, my mama died in 2006 and she finally saw him before she passed. I don’t see him as often or experience much anymore. He still comes around but not much. I miss him. I live here by myself but I did close the other side off and now rent it. Her grandson is 3 and she catches him looking at ‘nothing’ and laughing sometime. So, my question is, if I only see shadows are y’all saying they are demons? I do not believe that. I’ve only concluded that he was here waiting to take mama Home. One more thing, I don’t know about the Sally house event. I watched Paranormal Files go there and it was crazy! I would love to do one someday though.

Hillbilly horror stories is one of my faviorte podcast. yall do a fantastic job with each episode, i love all of them but i especially love Tracys laugh and her commentery one each episode. i always crake up and laugh, she really does say some of the best things sometimes. i love listening to your podcast on my daily 2 hour commute to work and while i work, it makes work go alittle bit faster and easier to work in retail. and thank you for acknowledgeing veterans every episode as my grandfather was a gunner sergeant for the marines for 25 years. keep up the great work guys, love ya

I live in Knoxville now but was born and raised in South East Kentucky and have family all over from there to Louisville and Cincinnati. I grew up hearing about the ghost in the courthouse window in Decatur Alabama I think. I would love to know more about this. This is all I can remember…. An innocent man was found guilty, while he was looking out the window with tears in his eyes, lightning came out of nowhere and burned his image into the glass…. Real? Folklore? Idk. Awesome show
I love listening to Jerry and Tracy’s stories and banter. They are awesome at finding locations and stories that I haven’t heard on other podcasts. Jerry is great at researching and storytelling and Tracy is great at asking questions and lightening up the mood. And as a fellow hillbilly, I love their accents too. One of my favorites that always has something new to listen to.

I thoroughly enjoy listening to Hillbilly Horror Stories nightly! These guys have hearts of gold. I feel like they genuinely care about their listening audience. Their support of military and vets is incredible as well as their concerns for listeners who just need someone to hear them out when no one else will. The stories are entertaining and thought out. The people who follow them are great people and are also caring and comforting to listeners/followers who reach out for help, an ear or just a prayer. I follow them on Facebook as well! I’m a nurse and have about an hr drive one way to work so I listen to several podcasts during the drive back and forth all week. One of my regular daily shows (Morning Cup of Murder)suggested Hillbilly Horror Stories and I was immediately hooked I’ve been binge listening ever since! Jerry and Tracy are my kind of people, they are both sincere and funny! I’m only on like episode 38 but since I listen to almost 2 episodes a day 5 days a week I’m sure it won’t take too long to catch up! I would also like to thank you for always giving shout outs to military and veterans. As a spouse of a veteran it means so very much. Love you guys!

An all around great show!!
Hillbilly Horror sits in my top 3 podcasts. I love Jerry and Tracy and always look forward to new episodes. I love the story telling and the history that always gets thrown in. Tracy is truly a breath of fresh air! I found them a few years ago and greatly appreciate their messages and support for anyone struggling with life and the shout outs they give to those in the military. My children also listen to this podcast with me it’s our favorite for nighttime.

Good evening Paulleys! I just finished listening to episode 304 and was compelled to write in. I am absolutely DELIGHTED at the profanity sprinkled in throughout this episode. There’s no better paranormal podcast!
These two keep me and my sister entertained on every car ride we take together. We never miss an episode. Tracey your humor and heart is something more people need in this world. You keep us laughing and agreeing with you non stop! There was one episode where people kept falling in an elevator and to this day I can’t get into one without thinking how upset it made Tracey that they didn’t check to see if the floor was there! I know we shouldn’t laugh at tragedy but Tracey makes it so light hearted. Thank you for being the best! Can’t wait to see what comes next!

Great show and big fan but….
Edit 2:so this is becoming very a regular occurrence. So, I listen while I drive my big rig. A couple weeks ago, I was listening to the episode on the Petrified Forrest and taking things from it as I was going past the exit on I-40 at the same time. Ok. Weird. Last week I had just taken off from home (I live in Phoenix) and was going through Flagstaff when you discussed the haunted hotel there. Wry strange coincidence. Just now, I am literally driving though Hutchinson, KS while listening to the shorts episode 1202! The synchronicity is unreal. Do y’all think you can stop planning my routes with the show? Lol. As I tend to binge listen from newest to oldest let me first say I did notice the sound was more even before I ever heard you mention my comment. Also, I really feel the need to apologize to Tracy! I am sorry I made you feel that you’re too loud, because you’re not. The issue came from my volume being up to hear The show over the truck. You two make my job feel less lonely so thank you. I’m sending y’all an email I hope you’ll read. Hopefully you’d like to know my story about being bitten by a ghost! First, I love these shows! Been a fan since the beginning and as a long haul driver they’ve gotten me through many long days! I jumped at the forever Patreon when y’all went full time and have been so happy I did. My only complaint, and it’s been this for a while, is the sound. Jerry is always so quiet, especially on the shorts, and Tracy is ALWAYS so much louder! A little more balancing would be really appreciated. As a trucker my volume has to be louder so I can hear over my truck and sometimes Tracy gets really loud. My happy time and our father/son time
I have been listening to this podcast since the beginning of the Covid pandemic. I started listening as something to pass the time sitting in traffic during my drive to work. Then my son listened with me on a family trip, since then we both listen together for every episode, its become a father/son time each week. This podcast is fun, interesting, with people that care about the topics, the people that are listening, and for each other. Tracey is a bubbly sweetheart and brings lighthearted laughs each episode. Jerry is dedicated to the topics presenting history, facts, opinions, and one liners that drive compelling conclusions on very interesting topics. Love that they pull other independent podcasters up by having them on their show. Good people that understand their topics and present it in a easy way for listeners to consume. A podcast for everyone
I have to say this is hands down one of my favorite podcast to listen to. Jerry and Tracy put there heart into this podcast and it shows. I can’t wait to get a notification saying there is a new episode. The fact that they make a lot of their lineup free to all listeners is something very few podcast do. The best part is they thank military and first responders every episode being a veteran that means a lot to me. If you are looking for some scary stories, true crime, strange encounters or just the occasional well timed snore from their dog ninja this is the podcast for you. Like spending time with old friends
Jerry & Tracy have a way of making you feel like you’re in the company of old friends who show up week after week to entertain you with all things creepy and crawly! This is one of my favorite shows to turn on while I’m cooking and cleaning or just driving in the car. They have a way of delivering content that is genuine and respectful while remaining interesting, hilarious, and easy to listen to. I even find myself looking forward to mundane tasks and chores because I can pop an episode on and listen to these guys all the while. I really love that most of the stories are about interesting little places you may not have heard of before. The Best Podcast EVER!!!!!
I first heard about this podcast on an episode of another podcast. I decided to check out the show and instantly fell in love with the way the episodes were constructed, also that Beverly Hillbillies theme - can’t forget that! Tracy is my favorite (4’11” club here too girl!) because I see a lot of myself in her and her wacky comments about the Andy Griffith show. I often times see myself completing her sentences when I listen. I just want to give her a big ole hug! Jerry does an amazing job at his research and narration of the show. I like his cracking of jokes and how passionate he is about the show and his passion around some more serious subjects. I appreciate the explanations of the podcast world he gives and his transparency. Ninja, we can’t forget about his contributions to the show! All around this is an amazing podcast and has helped me through some low times, has made me cry, has made me smile and laugh (quite hard at times). These two are very humble individuals and it’s apparent that they care about anyone and everyone. I hope to meet you guys some day and just chat about anything and everything! Welp, I am all caught up again. I just cannot get enough of Hill Billy Horror Stories. One of the best paranormal podcasts out there. When I first ran into this podcast a little over a year ago, I bindged listened over 3 years of episodes. Luckily, by then Jerry and Tracy also offered different patreon levels that include several more episodes a week. But even at the level that I am at, which offers like 3-4 episodes a week, I am again all caught up. Just cant get enough! You really need to give this podcast a try. Like most podcasts, early episodes are not a fair representation of what it is today, so I recommend maybe listening to a few more current episodes before starting from the start. But dont get wrong, even the early ones are just as entertaining and educational. Hillbilly Horror stories does not dissapoint one bit. The perfect mix of comedy, history, paranormal, unexplained, a little of aliens and cryptids, plus many interesting interviews with folks in the paranormal field. DO NOT WAIT ANY LONGER! My Go To Podcast!
I have been listening to HHS since almost the beginning - episode three. That’s several years worth of weekly shows, plus being a Patreon supporter lots of other supporter content. The hosts, Jerry and Tracy, are what really make the show - although the content is great. It’s like they are family, even though I’ve never had the honor to meet them YET! What I love the most is that they are real, down to earth folk who shares not only their triumphs and highs but their struggles with their listeners. It’s more than a paranormal podcast. You will not be sorry for listening! I love the show so much that it’s one of the podcasts I recommend again and again to my own friends and family! Hillbilly Horror Stories
I love this podcast!!! I love the paranormal and Jerry and Tracy make it so much more interesting! Jerry reminds me a lot have a good friend, someone that you can rely on. He researches well and always adds some great humor to every situation. Tracy is adorable! She always makes me laugh and the fact that her heart is so big she can hardly contain the love that she has for everybody is very endearing. I have only been listening to this podcast for about five months now and I’ve binged all of the episodes… Some of them twice. Jerry and Tracy are always so kind and caring to everybody. There advocacy for mental health is wonderful and greatly appreciated. I will recommend this podcast to everybody I know. Thank you guys. Give ninja some loves for me.

My most favorite podcast ever!!!
I stumbled upon this podcast when I was watching the news one day. They were discussing the work they do in suicide prevention and I was intrigued. I’m obsessed with anything paranormal, so I gave it a listen. I immediately fell in love! Jerry and Tracy and the sweetest couple and they make you feel like family. Tracy is the most adorable person ever and always makes me laugh, and Jerry is hilarious and so kind. They have got the best podcast and I love them both!!!

Loving the macabre misfortune
I love all things haunted and spooky. So this podcast is a given with the title. The icing on the cake is the hosts. They are hilarious. No offense to Jerry (because he's great) but Tracy is my favorite. Also love Ninja, and the fact that he's included in the podcast. Not many podcasters include their alternative children, and (as someone who can't have kids) I whole heartedly appreciate this. UPDATE: Really love the macabre misfortune episodes addition to the podcast. To me, it goes extremely well with the regular haunted episodes.

I don’t typically write reviews even though I know I should support the podcast I love and listen to. However, after hearing Jerry read his book and realizing all the work that goes into the creation of this show I had to send some love you guys way. This is an awesome show. It is so interesting and horror is my favorite genre. But you guys take it to the next level! The compassion is so genuine. I feel like i’m sitting around with old friends. Cosmic or coincidence?
I LOVE the show! Oddly enough, I was on a road trip from Arkansas to Lexington,KY when I heard of ‘Hillbilly Horror Stories’ on the “And That’s Why We Drink Podcast”. I checked it out and got 10 hours of the podcast under my belt by the time I was home! I listen almost daily now. I started way back at the beginning and am currently listening to episode 58. I love this show! I usually listen to this podcast at night before I fall asleep. Some of Jerry's creepy paranormal stories would give me nightmares if it were not for the comedic relief brought on by Tracy's goofy personality and naturally hilarious commentary. Awesome, one of a kind podcast!
First and foremost --- You need to listen to Hillbilly Horror stories, like, NOW! Jerry and Tracy have an amazing and entertaining show that, despite its genre, has a little bit of everything you would want out of a podcast. They will educate you, make you laugh, make you ponder about life, and make you appreciate and be thankful for the little things. Their Facebook group/community also provides a safe place to discuss the show and many other topics, such as mental health. It's inspiring to see folks like Hillbilly Horror stories use their mainstream platform for good, especially to reach out to people that could be struggling during these tough times. I myself don't have a Facebook, but I know from other listeners that the community they have online is one of a kind. Now for the apology --- I started listening to the show almost a year and a half ago, and I am unfortunately finally caught up. For the longest time, I told myself I would leave a review once I was all caught up, but I purposely stopped listening for like a month or two, so that episodes would pile up. Now that I am truly caught up, here is my promise. Sorry, it took so long. Although we cannot all be like the legendary mojo lobster, I think its important to stop and appreciate Jerry and Tracy at least once. Not only for having an awesome show but also for everything they do for their listeners. From all the shows I listen to, I've never seen a podcast offer as much as Jerry and Tracy do. They have different kinds of episodes from short stories, listener stories, UFO stories, and many more. (Man I miss listening to Hillbilly Younguns. Hope the dynamic duo can bring it back one day.) --- They also have a Patreon with different tiers that offer more fun and entertaining episodes. I myself finally joined and hope to work my way up. Lastly, I live in the DFW area, and I am super bummed I won't be able to attend the Dallas live show (Weddings back-to-back weekends.) But I truly hope you guys will consider coming back to the DFW metroplex soon. And please don't listen to all those negative comments. There is a big difference between leaving constructive criticism and leaving negative and hurtful comments. The show wouldn't be the same without Jerry or Tracy. So please keep up the good work for as long as you can. I don’t know if y’all can see where I’m listening from, but I didn’t find the show until after I moved to Indonesia. Born and raised in Oregon, spent the last 20 years in East Texas and have been missing that “hillbilly” (or hick 😉) accent. Listening to you guys is a taste of home and even though you don’t know me, I feel like we’re close friends. I so wish I could be with you for all the cool trips you went on. Jerry is the muscle that makes the show happen, and Tracy is the heart. I love how she brings the emotional side to each story. I love her laugh and silly questions. She’s so down to earth and genuinely cares for others. Your platforms about mental health and supporting civil servants are so admirable. Genuine human beings
Hi, I wanted to tell when I first started listening to your podcast Hillbilly Horror Stories, after you were a guest on Jim Harold’s Campfire Stories. I love you great podcast, you present awesome true stories. I’m sorry we haven’t written one before, we adore y’all and live/work within the region. Firstly, thank you so much for always keeping the podcast upbeat and informational. I’m a fan of most of the interviews but we tend to always like the show, most shows are great! The alien stuff isn’t much of our thing either but we do listen because we’re curious! You guys are amazing for bringing attention to mental health (I had postpartum depression, and have PTSD). On some of my bad days I’d listen to this show with our daughter. Tracy makes her laugh! She makes us all laugh. A while ago you got a mean review about her not being on topic or something silly. I do the same thing sometimes. Tracy, you are a wonderful, beautiful person I hope we get to meet sometime and you keep doing YOU! We love you both for what y’all create and do. Keep on making our family laugh and don’t let someone hurt your feelings like that. Their opinion doesn’t speak for everybody. Secondly, I worked at a historical location in Nashville which you covered in a previous episode (The Hermitage). You missed a LOT of stories and I have many. The new management and crew doesn’t talk much about the stories. I worked there years ago and you could probably do a whole segment on the place. I’ve had a few experiences, so had my husband in another way. So, to conclude, y’all are great. We love your podcast. If you’re interested in stories, please let me know how we can reach out. Okay first off I have to say I don’t listen to y’all on Apple podcast, but on Audible instead. I just downloaded Apple podcasts just to write a review. By far the best thing I listen to currently. I’m binging(sorry I know I’m late to the party), but I’m on episode 80 with with the Sloss furnaces. Whether I’m driving at work, or at the gym I constantly bing y’all whenever I can. I love that regardless of your political opinions you still give a shout-out to any, and all civil servant, first responders, and military. It’s honestly rare to hear that in the world we live in where everything is political.I have to say my favorite thing is actually 2 things. First off I love the history behind the stories you tell Jerry, and provide facts. Second I love the comedy aspect of everything. It almost reminds me of Abbot, and Costello. Jerry with you providing the facts, and talking about the story while Tracy comes along with impulsive lines, and things from totally left field. Please continue everything y’all do, and hope all is well

I have been listening to you guys for a couple years now and love Jerry’s storytelling abilities but one of my favorite reasons for listening is for Traci’s commentary. She is hilarious and her off the wall comments generally inspire a come back from Jerry and the ensuing conversation usually leaves me laughing out loud. Good stories, great research but...
I’m really happy with the stories and research that Jerry does. Everything is well researched and talked about in due time, although the only small little issue i had was i listened to their stories too often and got a little annoyed at Tracy by her asking questions that have nothing to do with what Jerry is talking about. I listened at first in pandora which is why i also switched over to Apple podcasts because that insurance ad was so annoying that plays about 5 times in a row the same advertisement. I know Jerry and Tracy have no control over it but it just comes with the app.... you will enjoy the stories just don’t listen to them like i did.... back to back to back... you will end up like me. Annoyed at Tracy such a beautiful soul. Aside of that this podcast and stories are great! Tracy stay in topic girl :(

I decided to finally leave a review because I was listen an episode and a reviewer stated she doesn’t like Tracy. Those review shock me. How could you not just LOVE Tracy?! Anywayyy, I’ve always had a hard time listening to podcast, I’m always interested in the stories but just can’t stay interested in the podcasters. Warm and fun
As one who appreciates the paranormal, and Southern accents, it should come as little surprise that I’m a great fan of Hillbilly Horror Stories. The tales are engaging, and research thorough, but above all else find Jerry and Tracy to be sincerely refreshing. Though subjects of this nature can be easily sensationalized, on this show, the very real people at their centers are always treated with respect and empathy. It makes for a fun listen all around!

Jerry and Tracey, THANK YOU for your work! This has become my favorite Podcast to listen on my long commutes for work and medical appointments. I’m from WV and I miss hearing the twang - now I get a regular dose! I’ve always been interested in the paranormal (since childhood; I was the weird kid with books about ghosts and aliens). There are soooo many great paranormal Podcasts out there and I’m a fan of many, but the personality that you two bring to storytelling is really special.

Last time trying to write a review
Because they keep disappearing and that isn’t suspicious at all… hosts are casually racist (speaking fake Chinese during an episode as just one example). Research is poorly done. For instance, 90% of the Mason episode was completely full of made up facts and conspiracy theories, which have no basis in truth. Male host is sexist toward his wife and others. Skip it if you want any truth, or any decency in hosts.

Let down
Was expecting Horror . They’re more of a paranormal podcast , which is ok if that’s what you’re seeking . But I don’t consider it Horror . Just about the only good thing I can say is their accents are a warm welcome , since I’m from Ky and a country girl myself . Sound quality is low . Listened to a few paranormals, then skipped to one that was a true horror story about shootings in Malibu. I think it might’ve been a promotion for another podcast ? In any case , that sound quality was even worse as the host spent much time interviewing someone in a moving helicopter. WTH?? How did they think that would be a good podcast idea? Horrible sound quality . Anyway , if you’re seeking a paranormal podcast , this might be an ok one , but I felt let down . Unsubscribed

Hillbilly Horror Fan For Life
I am halfway through catching up with past episodes and current on the new ones as they come out. As a veteran with PTSD I really appreciate the veteran shout out and the dedication to the suicide prevention and awareness. I enjoy watching the paranormal investigation shows but listening top your podcast and learning the history of many of these locations makes it that much better. Helps me get through work
I’m a housekeeper at a hotel in NY and usually I just listen to music on my phone but I found HHS a month or so ago and have been hooked ever since. Jerry and Tracy are amazing and hilarious and never fail to make me smile and laugh. They definitely get me through the day and make my job a lot more bearable. I also love the fact that they talk about mental health at the beginning of each episode, I think it’s very important and I look forward to my daily reminder that I’m not alone. They feel like another family to me and I love it.

Love this show.
I heard about Hillbilly Horror Stories from a Jim Harold episode. I’m really glad I did. These guys make me laugh. I kinda like politically incorrect humor sometimes. The stories are interesting and creepy. I like the show format and the way the show makes you feel like you’re just hanging out with friends. Jerry does a good job giving you the information without embellishments. But still keeps it interesting. Tracy is definitely the heart of the show. Keep up the good work guys. 😀

Episode 229 was wild
I think I re-sent the same review I did months ago. I’ll take a page from mojolobster’s book and leave another review since you two deserve it. I just finished the Union Screaming House episode and that left chills down my spine. I couldn’t imagine enduring something like that. There is clearly something evil attached there and the account of the LaChance family’s last night in that house was indescribably chilling. The minute I heard screams the FIRST time, I would’ve been out; you can keep my money, it ain’t worth it. As always, great job telling this story Jerry and Tracy and I enjoyed the interview with Steven immensely.

How many ads can we fit into one podcast
This podcast should be renamed how many ads can we fit into one podcast! Seriously tho..10 minutes of ads 15 minutes of housekeeping..15-20 minute topic 15 minutes of ads 25 minutes begging for people to join there patreon and finally 15 minutes of an obscure story or interview that has nothing do with the titled topic...I used to like this podcast but like so many others they sold out to the advertisers so they can line there pockets at our expense....
