What a great find!
Absolutely love this podcast what a great find. I truly feel like I found a diamond in the rough. Somehow she finds the most interesting characters. Just normal people with incredible stories and not someone trying to sell their new book or movie. Many of them have great inspiring stories without being over the top and preachy.

A Lightship in the fog of Humanity.
Susan is strikingly adept at bringing out the true reality of a person’s soul. There’s no need for filters; in her presence they are useless and irrelevant. In every conversation with her one learns more about oneself, it’s inevitable. Resistance is futile...

Excellent, Casual Creativity
Hey Human is well worth your time. I love Susan’s laid back interview style and casual conversation techniques when getting to know guests from all walks of life. Not only does Susan’s casual style and creative episode titling entertain, but if you check out her website, you’ll see she’s a creative musician, singer-songwriter, and visual artist at heart too, which is dear to my heart. My personal favorite episode of Susan’s is Winter Breedlove: Wig Askew Foreskin Veil. I also love the one with Suzie Kerr Wright! I highly recommend this show. Hit that subscribe button!

Mr. and stuff
A thorough examination of the human condition without the typical angry shrill. The agenda is discovery and exploration. The attitude is merciful and full of hope. The atmosphere is two people on a playground swing set…free enough to forget their age and their filter. If you’re looking for pretentious poses…keep looking. This is a place for those who hunger and thirst for the center of the note…no flats or sharps…just the perfect pitch of authentic human communication. Truly a rare find that dares you to believe that maybe our story has a happy ending.

What Took Me So Long?
I've known Susan in real life through my music, have shared the stage with her a few times in years past, and have watched her persistence and passion she puts into her pursuits. As with all of my creative friends and colleagues I love hearing about their creative endeavors, though do not always get to watch, listen or participate. I've known about Susan's "Hey Human" podast for a couple of years now and didn't begin listening util this past weekend. Wowza!!!!!! I have thoroughly enjoyed the hours spent listening to her guests, diverse topics, and Susan's genunine interest in what each of her guests have to share, her humor, her passion for wanting to know what makes up the collective human experience. Susan is engaging, funny, genuine, and asks important and intriguing questions. She also does her research filling in gaps after questions have been raised in episodes she and her guests might not have full information on, leaves links and answers on her Hey Human website. I give Hey Human and Susan Ruth a five star rating, two thumbs up, and will be sharing this with my comunity at large. This is a delightful, inspiring and thoughtful find.

A terrific interview were, always talking to someone interesting and different
Full Disclosure: I met Susan Ruth when she was looking to interview someone in my field. She reached out, she was vetted, and the moment we met for my interview, we became instant best friends. Since then I have listened to many of her podcasts, and introduced her to a few interesting people to add to the roster. There’s a lot more to podcasting than buying a mic and some software. Susan‘s continued enthusiasm and genuine interest in all her subjects always shines through, making her podcasts a pleasure as well as a learning experience. She asks the questions you’d ask, and she always gets outstanding responses, but the common thread is Susan Ruth. Great heart, great brain, great passion. And a great podcast!

I started listening to this show because I had interest in a few specific topics that were being discussed on the show. But I kept listening because the host does such a great job at bringing on guests from all walks of life and allowing them to share their stories and viewpoints without judgment. If you want to see the world through someone elses lens this is a great show for you.

Learning compassion
This is a wonderful podcast, truly different from the many podcasts that offers listeners an echo chamber of like minded people. Here is a podcast that discourages the social fragmentation and polarization that plague contemporary American culture. “Hey Human Podcast” gives listeners the opportunity to dive into the wonderful mess of differences, contradictions, sorrows and joys, hopes and disappointments experienced by the humans who join Susan in these weekly conversations. After listening to several of Susan Ruth’s podcast conversations I realized that I was learning about and practicing compassion. Susan Ruth shows how respect, openness, curiosity, sincere intention to understand, a willingness to acknowledge one’s own ignorance and preconceptions can create connections that acknowledge differences and recognizes a common humanity that bridges those differences. I think many listeners will make this podcast one of their favorites.

a show about what makes us similar
This is a great podcast and a refreshing change from the "us vs. them" content you'll see via a lot of media. Susan Ruth takes people of different walks of life, some of which are pretty extreme, and shows our shared humanity. Definitely worth a listen.

Food for my brain and my soul
Listening to Susan’s episodes is always a delightful adventure of learning about the human condition. Each episode brings to the surface in a wonderful way a strangers story about their extreme experiences , strength, knowledge, persistence, beliefs, feelings, resourcefulness or inventiveness. I listen to the episodes and learn about such vastly different worlds outside my own life. One of my favorite daily events is meeting new people and talking to and learning about another’s world..Hey Human is a magnificent podcast with an intuitive, humble, engaging (and quite funny) host that has made me laugh, cry, hurt for another and learn. I love it every time. 5 stars from me.

You Never Know Who Susan Will Talk to Next!
I tend to be more right-leaning in my political views but I really like listening to Hey Human Podcast because I get to hear the points of view of people from many different walks of life. I think it's becoming more and more important to hear various opinions these days. And I really do like how Susan tries to offer a fair representation for both sides of an argument. Even more than this, I LOVE how some of her episodes have guests who are lighthearted and fun, while others tackle more serious topics. I like the surprise of not knowing what kind of guest she'll interview each week. I highly recommend this podcast!

Boldly Marvelous
Hey Human Podcast is becoming one of the most impressive collections of interviews around. Susan continually interviews guests with fascinating backgrounds……. Each one often worlds apart from the previous, but just as interesting. While each guest is unique, Susan asks relatable questions that inspire you to put yourself in someone else shoes. In highlighting differences, walls are broken down. This unites the podcast under one recurring concept: We are all HUMAN.

The Title Says It 💞
In a world in which isolation and disconnect are increasingly the norm, Susan Ruth exercises her own remarkable humanity with intelligence, curiosity, compassion and often vulnerability to engage a breadth and depth of topics in conversations across the fascinating and beautiful and often challenging spectrum of Us. This podcast is a gem and a jewel and, I suspect, reflects the wisdom, creativity and talent that is Susan Ruth. Do yourself and humanity a favor. Listen and listen lots.

Uncomfortableness
This podcast has a way of making me feel just uneasy enough that I remain engaged while constantly thinking maybe I don’t want to. Susan’s amazing ability to stay real while skirting some pretty sticky issues and allowing her counterparts to be humans and not caricatures is what sets this podcast apart from the staid interview variety. Plus I just love her voice.

Human to the core
It excites me that someone is out there thinking this up...ESP now with so many ugly truths rearing their heads and traumatic politcial hype. There is so much finger pointing, fighting to be heard and anger...I like that Hey Human peels the surface away, takes us back to naked equalism and allows space for subjects to express on a core level...amazing how alike we all are when the suits come off, the shame comes off, the prejudicsm and gender is set upon a shelf for an hour.

A fun exploration of humanity!
I love this podcast. The guests are fascinating and include humans from all walks of life: entertainers, artists, dentists, as well as a leader of a white supremacy group. Susan does a great job of getting to know the motivations of why people do what they do without judgment or bias. Not only is getting to know why or how a guests ends up in a certain profession or field, its interesting to hear Susan’s take on how she relates to them. Her comments are whip smart, funny, quirky, and loaded with double entendres that I think most of her guests miss. She’ll throw them out there with reckless abandon. It really cracks me up. If you are interested in the human experience, good and bad, happy or sad, this is the podcast for you. Ultimately the podcast shows that with being human we have a lot to learn and a lot to give, it’s a positive reflection on what makes us who we are. Give it a listen and enjoy Hey Human!

What a great show so far!
I just started listening to this podcast, and I have to say that it reminds me of those shows where you get to listen in on interesting and entertaining dialogue along with sometimes witty back-and-forth banter (think Seinfeld). Susan has a unique and relaxed interviewing technique that is seemingly effortless, and this helps to further promote the core realism of this show. You are taken in within the first five minutes and actually feel like you are part of the interview. The only bad part is when the episode concludes, but the easy fix for that is to subscribe so you know when it's time to tune in again!

I LOVE This!!!
"Hey Human" restores my faith in humanity and I love that it focuses on what we have in common rather than our differences. Susan Ruth does an amazing job of digging into each story with great respect for her subject, even when she strongly disagrees with their views. She makes an honest attempt to understand and connect with even the most challenging guests. I love to be challenged by opening my world up to the worlds and walks of others that have taken a very different path, and "Hey Human" does this better than any other source I've found.

Permission to be Human
Susan Ruth's big heart and her compassion for what it means to be human creates a much needed space for thoughtful conversations about just about anything. Seriously, you never know what story will be shared by her guests, but you will probably relate to what they have to say and find yourself feeling less alone in your own human experience. Susan shines a light on the things that make up a lifetime, some of them tragic, some of them magical, but all of them interesting and she validates each experience equally. This is time well spent!

Like getting to know a new friend over a chat on the front porch.
What a refreshing podcast! It doesn’t need a bunch of fancy production bells and whistles to make it interesting because the subjects - everyday types of people - are interesting in and of themselves. These are the people you may stand behind in the grocery store line or sit next to on the plane, but never really get to know what kind of lives they lead. Susan is witty and insightful and asks all the right questions. And I love the bonus content, because I’m always left wanting to know more. It stinks that there’s never enough time to just grab a cup of coffee and strike up a conversation with the person at the table next to you. This podcast fills a void I had forgotten I was missing - a little deeper interaction with my fellow humans. It seems we all could use a little bit more of that these days.
