- Date Yourself InsteadFebruary is the month of love but I wanted to take this month to focus on one of the most important relationships in our lives, if not the most important, and that is the relationship with ourselves. Dating yourself is all about getting to know YOU. It's about learning to meet your own needs and desires and prioritizing yourself and your wellbeing. In this episode I discuss: Choosing a familiar place when you first start dating yourself to provide yourself with some comfort and safety as you go out by yourself for the first time Going somewhere or doing an activity that doesn't require interaction, like seeing a movie, that way you don't feel awkward about not having anyone to talk to Finding a place other people often go to alone, like a coffee shop. This will make you feel less alone If you're nervous to go somewhere but you still really want to try it, go on the slowest night so you don't have to worry about being alone in a crowd Try not to distract yourself by looking at your screen the whole time and focus on being present Be consistent with, take yourself on a date at least once a month if you want it to have a profound impact on your life Choose dates that interest and excite you, get dressed up for yourself and most importantly RELAX Dating yourself is an act of self-love and self-care. It's an amazing way to get to know yourself and increase your confidence. You totally don't have to be single to date yourself, regardless of your relationship status, carving out time for yourself is beneficially. I hope you treat yourself to a nice date this week! - Alone But Not LonelyThere is a difference between loneliness and solitude, you don't have to even be alone to feel lonely. Some of the times I have felt the loneliest in my life is when I have been surrounded by people but they either weren't the right people for me, or I wasn't comfortable with myself. Solitude on the other hand, is the choice to be alone and to use that alone time to reflect or simply enjoy your own company. It is about enjoying being with oneself rather than wishing to be with someone else. In this episode I discuss: The 4 common reasons why you might be feeling lonely and 5 tips to help you combat loneliness.0 comments0
- Growth and Goals Podcast Feb 6 · 20m My Reset Day RoutineHave you been feeling overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, or maybe even a little depressed lately? Me too, girl. I don't know about you but when life gets hectic the first thing I let slip are the things I have control of like working out, cleaning, self-care, etc. even though those are the things that make me feel my best. Makes no sense. But today I am sharing my reset day routine that I use whenever I need to pull myself out of a funk and get my ish together again. In this episode I discuss: Organizing your mind, do a brain dump, journal, plan out your week so you have a plan on how you're going to get back on track and even budget Organize your environment. When my home is a mess it makes me even more anxious so clean up your space and complete those tedious tasks that have been looming over you Practicing self-care is crucial to having a successful reset routine. It can be absolutely anything as long as it makes you feel good and relaxed I get it, life gets hard sometimes and there will be things we can't control. - Being Present While Pursuing GoalsDo you find your mind dwelling on the past or worrying about the future instead of focusing on the present moment? If so, this episode is for you! Being present is how we experience life, appreciate it and make meaningful connections. In this episode I discuss: What not being present looks like i.e. lack of focus, loss of memory, making errors, poor listening skills, racing thoughts and never being satisfied. Making peace with the past, reflecting on how you grew from it and finding something you can be grateful for in your past experiences so you can move on. Not getting tunnel vision on your future, staying open minded, available for opportunities, not tying your worth to your achievements and celebrating every win no matter how small Anything is a mindfulness practice if you do it mindfully, find ways to make daily, seemingly mundane tasks like eating or cooking, mindful Romanticizing your life by falling in love with your work, routines and habits so you can learn to appreciate the small moments in life and the process of creating a better life Unplugging and taking breaks to focus on yourself and enjoy your life exactly as it is Being present requires practice and mental toughness but I think you'll find so much meaning in life when you learn to be present. - How To Be More Intentional With Your MoneyI think everyone is struggling a little financially right now due to the state of the world and I am by no means immune. So in today's episode I am sharing what I will be implementing this year to help me get back on track financially cause your girl has fallen on some hard times. So from one broke girl to another, let's make a commitment to be really intentional with our money and only invest it in things that bring us joy, align with our vision and get us closer to our financial goals! In this episode I discuss: Being self-aware about exactly where your money is going, you might be surprised so start tracking it, because you can't break bad habits you don't even know you have. Get clear on what your intentions and financial goals are so you can ensure everything you buy aligns with your values and priorities. Wait before you by, most of our bad money decisions are made on split-second impulse buys so take some time to think before purchasing. It is okay if it takes some time for you to curate your home or wardrobe, stop buying cheap crap in the meantime just to have something and save up for the item you really want. Invest in quality over quantity, it will save you money in the long run! Don't get caught in the trap of buying stuff you don't need or even like just because it's trendy instead discover your own style and invest in things YOU love. I hope you found these tips helpful! Make sure to download Monefy to help you start tracking your expenses, I use the free version and it's great! Here's to being more mindful of our money in 2023! Our energy is a precious resource so it's important that we protect our energy and ensure that we invest it in things that move us forward, bring us joy and align with our values and vision. In this episode, I am sharing my 6 tips to help you be more intentional with your energy. - How To Be More Intentional With Your TimeOne of my words for 2023 is intention. I want to be really intentional with what i invest my time, energy and money into because I've got big goals and a vision for what I want my life to look like and I am not here for anything that doesn't fit that vision. In the first episode of this intentionality mini-series, I am talking about how to be more intentional with your time. In this episode I discuss: Asking yourself what you REALLY want to be devoting your time to. If you had unlimited time, what would you being doing? The quickest way to free up time is to eliminate tasks so ask yourself what you can say no to, let go of or set boundaries around Plan, prepare and get organized by creating systems, structures and routines Making the most of those small pockets of time and following the 10/30 rule Setting intentions before you invest time into something to remind yourself why it's important to you and worthy of your time Not having enough time is the number one reason I hear people say they 'can't' achieve their goals. I hope these tips help you to better utilize your time so that you can devote it to creating the life you love. FREE Goal Setting Guide Daily Planning Notepad0 comments0
- Reflecting on the Past, Hope for the FutureI don't know about you, but 2022 was a rough year for me. between breaking my hand and having to have surgery, to getting two tickets and my car battery dying, to going through a breakup and my friend moving away, only to have that all topped off with my dog being hospitalized and diagnosed with diabetes. I feel like I have not been able to catch a break lately, but it's a new year, a fresh start and a time to let go of the past and look towards the future. In this episode I discuss all the 2022 goals I did NOT achieve, and it's a lot. I wanted to share this because it is totally okay if you didn't accomplish everything you wanted to this past year. It is perfectly okay if you only made a little progress or weren't perfectly consistent. It is also okay if as you reflect on the goals you didn't achieve to pivot or let go of goals entirely. I have so much hope for 2023 and I have a feeling that this is going to be a great year. FREE Goal Setting Guide Daily Planning Notepad0 comments0
- Growth and Goals Podcast Dec 19 · 21m Intuitive EatingI don't know about you, but I am so tired of diets telling me I have to cut out my favorite foods, making me feel bad for what or how much I eat and restricting myself to the point that I have so much stress and anxiety around food. If you are ready to reject diet culture and negative feelings surrounding food, this episode is for you. In this episode I discuss: What intuitive eating is and the physical and, most importantly, the psychological benefits of adopting this philosophy Reframing your mindset around food to stop looking at it as 'good' or 'bad' or calculating calories in your head. Notice how foods make you feel and eating what makes you feel your best rather than how it might make you look Honoring your hunger and respecting your fullness. It really is as simple as that, being self-aware and in tune with your bodies cues is what intuitive eating is all about Taking the emotion out of eating, learning to let yourself feel your emotions rather than coping with food and rejecting the guilt and shame around your food choices Intuitive eating isn't eating whatever you want whenever you want. It's eating what you know is going to make you feel good when you're hungry and stopping when you're full. Sounds simple, because it is but the key is your mindset and making peace with food. Intuitive eating is an act of self-love and self-care, it is not a diet. Infact, it's the opposite of a diet. FREE Goal Setting Guide Daily Planning Notepad0 comments0
- Incorporating Joyful Movement Into Your LifeI talk a lot about moving your body and fueling your body well as a form of self-care, but I know that diet and exercise can be touchy subjects. As a size 16 woman I have had my own struggles with embarking on a health journey, which is why I wanted to do this two-part series all about joyful movement and intuitive eating. If you struggle with viewing exercise as a punishment or you're trapped in the mindset of working out to improve how you look versus how you feel, then this episode is for you. In today's episode I discuss: The positive impact regular physical activity can have on your mental health, energy levels, sleep and long-term physical health Letting go of the self-hatred and shame and shifting your mindset to see exercise as a form of self-care so you can show up as the best version of you Tracking non-scale victories and shifting your goals of working out away from a certain number on the scale or on the tag of your jeans Finding an exercise that you actually enjoy. There is no one right way to workout, find one that you genuinely enjoy doing Listening to your body and taking rest days when you need them. I hope this episode helped you to reframe the way you view movement, and you can start to find joy in it. I have noticed a huge difference in how I feel when I move my body regularly because it is self-care and has so many benefits for your mental and physical health. - Stop Should-ing All Over YourselfDo you ever get into a routine where you're meeting all of your need, pursuing all of your passions and just feeling great energetically, physically and mentally only to fall off the wagon and find yourself stuck in a rut? If so, this episode is for you. I definitely struggled with consistency this year and I realized it was because I was sacrificing my wants and needs, for things I felt like I "should" be doing. In this episode I discuss: The four areas of your life: Have To's, things you absolutely must do like go to work. Needs, the things you need in order to feel your best. Shoulds, things you feel pressured to do. Wants, your hobbies, passions, desires, interests and things that bring you joy. Identifying what things fall into each area of your life and then choosing to put your needs and wants first, set, boundaries, protect your energy and let go of the idea of what you "should" do I hope this episode helps you become more aware of what you feel like you're supposed to do and allows you to let go of the expectations of others and focus on meeting your own needs and creating your own joy. - 5 Items to Declutter for a Simpler SeasonThe holiday season is coming up and for a lot of us it can be a really stressful time. Between trying to decorate, cook for tons of people, buy the best gift for everyone or just the general hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it can be overwhelming. Which is why decluttering can be so life changing. If you can create a low stress, low maintenance, decluttered home it will feel like an oasis in times of stress. So, if you're looking to clear out your home before the holiday season; whether it's to help you maintain a cleaner home, have less to manage and reduce your stress, or to make room for new items you got at the latest Black Friday Sale, this episode is for you. In this episode I discuss: Decluttering your digital space, this often goes overlooked but make sure to clear out your inbox, unsubscribe from unnecessary email lists, delete old photos and unused apps. I try to live by the 'one in one out' rule but often times when we get something new, we have a tendency to still hang onto the old Letting go of items that no longer bring you joy, clear out that space so that when you do find something you absolutely love you have room for it Learning to let go of sentimental items or gifts can be hard but remember holding onto something out of guilt just causes stress, it's okay to let it go, it is not a reflection of your relationship with someone to get rid of things you don't need Clear out old consumables. I didn't think of consumables as clutter because the idea is to use them up, but if you're not actually using them or they've expired they're just clutter and need to go FREE Goal Setting Guide Daily Planning Notepad0 comments0
- Personal Growth Growing PainsI'm not going to sugar coat it, embarking on a personal growth journey isn't easy, but I promise you it's worth it. I think sometimes we get this idea in our head that personal growth is going to be magical and we're going to instantly feel better, or our life will instantaneously be better. I wanted to share with you some harsh truths about personal growth you might not be aware, not to scare you off but to prepare you, encourage you and let you know that it does get easier, and it is absolutely worth it. In this episode I discuss: Personal growth is uncomfortable because no one ever grew in the confines of their comfort zone It is scary, most people are afraid of the fear of failure or what people will think, but the only real failure in life is giving up and I promise people are more worried about themselves than you, so just go for it You will not always feel motivated, find ways to keep yourself disciplined until these healthier habits become your new normal It will take longer than you think but it is okay to grow slow You will have to invest time and energy into your personal growth journey, make sure you're prepared to prioritize yourself You will outgrow people and when you do it's okay to let them go No one is coming to save you, personal growth is something you have to do by yourself, for yourself but find support along the way If you're setting out on a personal growth journey, I hope this episode helps you know you're not alone, encourages you to keep going and makes you feel a little more prepared so you can overcome these obstacles. - Entering Your Soft Girl EraI'm sure many of you have seen the Tik Tok trend going around about entering your 'soft girl' era, but how do you do that? If you've been wanting to step into your feminine energy, and become a classy, soft, generous, confident, kind-hearted person that spreads love to others than this episode is for you. In this episode I discuss: Summary of exactly who a 'soft girl' is and the energy she exudes Cultivating a safe environment that validates your emotions, uplifts and nurtures you, and allows you to be vulnerable Finding what brings you peace and joy in your life and sharing it with others so that you can be a light in their life Learning to pour into yourself and being able to accept the love you deserve from others What the 'soft girl' era is not and addressing common misconceptions I don't know about you, but I was in survival mode for a long time. I was ready to let go of struggling, hyper independence, being avoidant, being avoidant and emotionally unavailable, the fear of being vulnerable and the masculine energy I was trauma bonded to. I hope this episode helps get you started into the beautiful 'soft girl' flower I know you can be. FREE Goal Setting Guide Daily Planning Notepad0 comments0
- Growth and Goals Podcast Nov 7 · 21m Stepping Into Your Villain EraThe name 'villain era' can sound like it has a negative connotation but just like villains in movies are often understood so is the villain era. If you are ready to start putting yourself first, prioritizing your energy and mindset, ruthlessly edit your life and embrace your power, then this episode is for you. In this episode I discuss: Setting boundaries to protect your energy, your mental health and your heart and being intentional about who and what you allow into your life Practicing self-care that embodies the energy you want into your life; makes you feel good about yourself and allows you to show up as the best version of you Shifting your mindset from worrying about if people like you and asking yourself if you like them, letting go of everything holding you back and learning to do things scared Stepping into your villain era isn't about becoming a villain it's about becoming your own hero. I love the quote "I think for a lot of us chronic people pleasers our villain era is just us asserting our boundaries, expressing and clearly communicating our needs and prioritizing ourselves." and that's exactly what it is. It's about knowing what you want, ruthlessly editing anything that doesn't align with that and stepping into your power so you can show up authentically as the best version of you. - Advise For My Younger SelfMy early twenties were a rough time in my life, now that I am 25 and have grown so much, I wanted to share with you some advice that I wish someone would have shared with me in my early twenties (not that I would have listened at that age lol) but I hope it helps you! In this episode I discuss: Feeling lonely in your early twenties because you're not sure what to do with your free time now that you're moving away from friends and family, not involved in extracurriculars or spending so much time studying or doing homework anymore Being worried about the fact that you don't have it all figured out, you don't know who you are or who you want to become or maybe you're just feeling lost. I've got a secret, none of us have it all figured out Feeling like you're behind or that your life isn't on the "right" timeline. You are not behind, go at your own pace, there's no 'correct' timeline. It will be your turn someday so stop comparing your life to everyone else's. If you're in your early twenties, or really any season of life, I hope you try all kinds of new things, I hope you learn to pick yourself back up when you fall, but most of all I hope that you enjoy whatever season you're in because it won't come around again so the least you can do is enjoy the ride. In this episode I discuss: Exactly what the five love languages are, you can take the quiz here to figure out yours How we have a tendency to sabotage ourselves by doing the opposite of our love language, which is why we're often our own worst enemy, because we know our vulnerabilities How you can start loving yourself in alignment with your own love language and begin meeting your own needs We all love to feel loved, and it is amazing when people in your life make you feel loved but make sure to show yourself some love too.
