Bummer to see this one go…
Found this podcast through another called Imaginary Worlds - James did a great job finding and producing different stories from different eras and corners of the gaming world. Will miss him and I hope Gameplay continues, but if not it was a wild ride while it lasted!

Amazing, Refreshing Work
This podcast is excellent. I especially recommend it to people who love video games and their role in society/culture, but are a bit tired of the standard video game podcast format: 3-5 people talking about gaming news and their thoughts on what they’ve been playing. The stories told on Gameplay have honestly refreshed my love for gaming.

Hugely underrated
The production quality coming out of this podcast is out of this world and they also cover very cool gaming topics with interesting and unique people to interview. Doesn't get nearly enough recognition imo

Love it!
This podcast is AWESOME! Edit: WTH why are so many one star reviews “make more episodes” give it 5 AND say that- giving it a 1-star is just showing them that it’s not enough and then that leads to burnout, which leads to the end of this pod. Gameplay, ignore ‘em. The rate of episode releasing is amazing.

Fun to listen to, informative, and inclusive
Presents history and information about specific topics in a not dry way. The host and guests are not obnoxious like in other game related podcast I’ve listened to, and is a great listen so far. It’s a shame this show got bombed by bad reviews after releasing the episode interviewing a transwoman. Come on people, it’s freaking 2020.

Good Show, informative and fun
This show isn’t like other gaming podcasts. It’s informative about issues that many of them won’t cover. I would happily recommend this show to all of my friends and have in fact done so because that’s how awesome this show is.

Amazing
This really bring the complexity out of games as people who play tend to get stereotyped and when I heard this it really puts the emphasis on the importance of character creation and this gives a sense of an escape to people who play these games this is an amazing podcast would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes videogames or who is thinking about getting into videogames

- Stealth GamingIf you were a high school student in the 90s or early 2000s, you were likely required to have a graphing calculator for math class. - ChiptuneHow do you turn a Nintendo Game Boy into a musical instrument? 8-bit music is one of the most defining characteristics of gaming’s golden age of the 1970s and 80s. The sound chips in early arcade machines and home consoles had their limitations, but they gave the music a unique aesthetic that is still associated with games today. A love of retro games has led many developers to adopt 8-bit music (and graphics) as a way to honour the past, and create new experiences in this classic style. But 8-bit music, also known as chiptune, is much more than nostalgia. It’s become a whole new music genre of its own. This story comes from the podcast Sum of All Parts.
