Forward Thinking Founders
What is going on everyone Thanks for tuning in to another episode of forward-thinking Founders. I am very grateful to have your attention at least for the next 15 minutes of this episode forward-thinking Founders is a podcast right interview a free Feed and Seed stage Founders about their products what they want to build into the world and why we dive into how they spend their time. What's their Vision? What's the origin of Thor's all these things? You can learn all about what's coming tomorrow? But these companies haven't hit critical skill yet. Most of them haven't hit product-market fit. These are just early-stage companies and the big question is what can this be it? And in this podcast we bring that out. So with that I really hope you enjoy your time listening today's episode and I've already done two hundred plus if you like this one listen to some of the other ones like with a Mighty Coon Austen Allred Leah Culver, we've great interview to check it out. Enjoy the repository in for now. Let's get into the Days episode of there we go.
All right, how's it going? Every one phone to another episode of forward-thinking Sounders will be talked to founders of other companies do revisions for the future and how the to collide it today. I'm very excited to be talking to you Roy and I love pizza who's the co-founder of glanced? What kind of the show? How's it going? I'm at I'm very excited to talk to you tonight. Yeah, I'm excited to chat as well. As for people that haven't heard of glantz and want to learn more. Can you guys share? What what band is in what you're working on sure has a marketing co-pilot for midsize businesses and it's powered by Otto. It's a product that deliver cross-channel actionable dealer stories. So that the market that has chewed productivity gains and get a grade r y on his back reimbursement.
So I am a marketer. You know, I I I have things I want to grow just like a lot of people listening to this podcast. Can you come and walk me through different things I can do with your platform features, you know, what outcomes I can expect. It's like I guess it's different different ways. I could use plans.
Look, you know if a remark about you were always concentrating on the phone, right? You're focusing on breathing upon whether it's B2B. I'm not talking about the, while I'm just talked about to be to be fun. Right now so you when people downloading your podcast coming to the side and doing some action buildings and your marketing on Facebook LinkedIn Twitter Google analytics and everything else when you come onto plants, what do you do? If you connect your channels you connect your channels by just creating an account you come in and you connect your channels you choose to order connector. You don't have to do any kind of integration me go and fetch all of the data, we collect the data and then we start showing you some metrics, right? We should all the metrics in one place. That's one way to look at the first person to fly. The AI marketing class that I'm talking to you about is when my artificial intelligence engine kicks in and starts to pay him and it looks like this week you're going to have lessons.
Traffic than the last week. Why don't you boost it with a certain social media and then things like Matt we see that you're going to plug you have any email camping planned on your nail trim your open rates at about 22% You know, what if you sent out an accompanying social media campaign Twitter or Facebook your open Brazen email is going to freeze by 10% now Beazer inside you wouldn't have otherwise collected and made sense of things like this very different styles of information are still together on the cross the cross Channel linking in the inside. That's still love by ADI. I inject. So a marketer comes in and gets this daily alert. So he does not have spend the time to figure out and do what that's what glasses.
Play I just sounds incredible. I'm serious. Like why why you said to start? That's what's interesting about this base. And what's the origin story for you for glance? My personal journey is I was a long time ago with a bunch of code then created in 19 in 2010. I created a Groupon for small business collide one that didn't pan out. They told me that I was stupid enough that I didn't realize but that company mouth into a digital marketing agency. What I realized was I love coffee. I always call myself as an engineer who turned into a bar and I love copy Road a lot of creative started running campaigns and then I started to see that when I land toppings for a movie Bay Area companies all in technology space mostly stops businesses. I started realizing answering the same questions a game and a game. I'm trying to do the same thing. We're not doing historical analysis. There's no sort of prediction and I have
Hypothesis thinking what I said, I would let me change the hypothesis based on the results of my maschine jam. I didn't like that and I saw the signs on the other side was growing by Leaps and Bounds and I said there is something that we can do to make this work and that's outdated signs interjected with this and started making this year. That's how the evolution of plants came to be immersed in the space where marketers are trying to answer the same question again, and again do not have the do not have the wherewithal to do all that analysis don't have data science resources don't have the time to do a full length equation plants.
Got it at that. That's awesome. I see as a non engineer who tries to deal with these problems as it is is not is not that simple like someone is just come from that angle. You can build at you know, who understands that the market in can build the solution but that's pretty powerful. What do you spend your time on during the day? Like are you are you shipping code trying to get users to try this out. Are you working your own funnel? What the day in the life for you? I'm working my own subtle. I'm shipping user getting getting uses getting enlistment. I call him. I'd like to call myself as a chief. Janitor because I have to pick up and do all the stuff. I have a co-founder touch with health food products. So he and I do Peregrine Stone. We have an old building in this old building and then we do in genetics Club.
And I'm serious. This has to be a type of product where your users pull you in a thousand different directions, right like because it's something so many people need a bill this feature of could you do that? So have you thought about this about weed if you don't do that, like how do you know what to build and how do you know I guess what to focus on when users ask you for a million different things you this may I ask whatever but by looking at their Channel data, we know what's actually happening with their marketing so we don't just started it features.
Based on this thing. We have uses data by which we can understand what they're doing. Right? So we have to be logical funnel aspects. Let go into that second one's product analytics read we employ a lot of product analytics to figure out if the user ends up going. So, you don't match for example, people say everything majority of our platform insights get consumed on slack. We are like the top third rated marketing analytics supporting slack in the slack app store. That's how we know you can consumers in a different way so we can say all they want but we want to listen and have an open mind but we also have to pay attention to the data The Forest of course, it's always not balanced. I'm curious for you. If you were to look out for this company, you know in 5 years 10 years. What what do you see Glenn's looking like that or I guess another word. What's the big Vision here? In what direction do you run everyday? Look the same as we want to make marketing effective for midsize marketer. We want to provide a billion Auto on all marketing.
Marketing Investments That You Do we want to give back your time to be creative and to do so, we're finally getting a concept call marketing grass the Martin Graf brings together data from different platforms stitches them through relationships adds a contextual a r building ml are overrated and provides perspectives on recommendations, which are personalized by business-type you mature man should never look for what are my computer's doing. Where am I going to go? How do I get to my next level without Googling and how sometimes I'm not chasing bunnies can see what happens today any marketing goal is like I need to spend $2,000 that should not be to go within the dollars. What's a predictable way to earn marketing out of white? That's what we're trying to do.
And to make that happen to need some help right like other start up take the village as does every so my question for you is how can the Ford then you bounders community help. Are you are you hiring looking for customers? Are you looking for investors? How can we assess I'm looking for a Betta customers were spending $1,500 or more on marketing to come sign up with us so we can create this fantastic reports that we have give it to them and see if it is useful second. If you if you know of investors who believe in the space who believe that data science on a I can create a true Mungus and massive change in marketing, please introduce us to as would love to get in and if someone wanted to try this out there like I need to get on this as soon as possible having someone try out glance. What's your website? Can you find you on social media? Can the email you an email?
Roy at glance at you. You can go to app store receipt create an account, contact us there and then say I'm ready for my additional reporting we can get back to you on

Alright, thank you so much for listening to the episode of forward-thinking Founders. If you're sitting there, you're just saying that I want more. How can I get more? Well luckily you can get it at forward-thinking at city 4th of June city is a community for the forward-thinking network. Right? I mean multiple different aspects of the city 1 a.m. Is some of the previous guess is they've been on the podcast like Jonathan Farkle Kristen Anderson Austin all ready to come back and they do animes with the residents. You can ask him any question that you want, right? You can ask him about fundraising the early days how they got their customers. We do these every single week with another, you know, really great founder that has been on the podcast. Additionally we are pitched battles, right? So if you want feedback on your pitch in the opportunity to potentially pitch in front of the Seas and talk one-on-one with venture capitalist. This is where to do it. These are monthly pitch battles. So if you don't get in the first time try again, right the goal is to improve and get feedback to eventually want to raise I get into the room with VCU.
To raise Capital 3D can get back to your company building a great startup building a great business. The last thing I'll mention is that if you were kind of interesting just Community, we have our coffee hours and happy hours where you can meet other residents learn all that. They're working on talk about social things anything you want. This is a city for Founders. It is for investors. It is for start-up enthusiasm is for anyone that loves startups. So if you're interested in what I'm saying, go to forward-thinking. City and join the city for $15 a month, you know the way the reason I charge it cuz I want to be able to do this full-time and bring as much value as I possibly can. I think it's well worth the value can ask any of the current residents and they will attest to that they're going to forward-thinking. City doing the city and you'll see immediately then the next day and may the next pitch battle the next event and I hope to see you there for thinking. City. Thanks for listening. See you tomorrow.
