Favorite (not just Survivor) Podcast!
…not sure if my other review accidentally submitted, so sorry (not sorry), here it is again… Sean and Evan have the best podcast out there offering a queer, relevant, insightful look at survivor episodes and now the Challenge USA, which I love! Too often we only get bros talking about these things and this pod course corrects that in a way that is fun, funny, and inclusive. AND they invite their audience to participate with voice notes, so I totally bragged to all my friends when mine was featured in an episode LOL. LISTEN TO THIS PODCAST!

Amazing interviews
Evan and Sean have some of the best Survivor interviews out there. Courtney?? Jerri?? Sophie?? Parv??! They’re so special. I don’t *love* the episode recaps because, unfortunately (and also, understandably) Evan really doesn’t vibe with modern Survivor, so the commentary does lean on the side of negative. It’s not not true, necessarily, it’s just not super fun to listen to all the time. But I will continue to listen.. all the time 🤷🏽

Thoughtful analysis
I listen to lots of survivor podcasts, but this one is by far my favorite. In addition to the hosts’ thoughtful analysis of the game we see, they also consider the edit we’re getting, the machinations behind the tv episodes we’re consuming, and connect the evolution of this show they clearly love to what’s going on in the world writ large. If you like constructive criticism, compelling hosts, and the occasional drag race reference then this podcast certainly belongs in your rotation.

Such an enjoyable listen
After watching the episode I love getting to listen to the podcast. Not many of my friends watch survivor so getting to listen to Sean and Evan discuss the episode and their takes will have me smiling and feels like chatting with friends. I am currently very much enjoying the Jonathan discourse.

Love this podcast!
Evan and Sean do such a great job of talking through the episodes and, now, when watching, I notice something and think, “omg, I wonder if Evan and Sean are going to talk about this!!!” and it makes the watching experience even better. They have valid critiques and give credit where credit is due. Listening to them feels like talking to two friends about the episode and it’s really just such a delight. And, for the record, Evan and Sean did NOT suggest that members of the cast should drown. That would just be insane if they did that. THANKS EVAN AND SEAN!!!!

Complain, Complain, Complain
I wanted to love this podcast as much as I love others but after listening several episodes, it’s just not for me. Their critique of yesterdays episode was very cringy and they would rather some of the cast drown then have the show make the call to pull them from the water. Between the huge swells, under current and extreme fatigue, it was NOT safe for them to be out in those conditions. They also made a comment about the ladder not being that heavy and shouldn’t have been to difficult to carry but on another podcast done by a past player, they stated the ladders are built to be heavy and carried by many, not one player. It’s not a ladder you can grab from your garage! This podcast makes me feel like I’m on Facebook reading a bunch of comments from armchair players.

Negativity?
These folks really don’t seem to like Survivor very much. I wonder if the episode recaps are the best format for them, because a lot of it just seems to be going through what happened and complaining about it. It’s always good to get different perspectives, but maybe they should do more meta-commentary on Survivor over the course of its 42 seasons and focus on what works best, what could be improved, etc. Kind of a downer to listen to them in the current formulation.

Best Survivor Podcast
This is the best Survivor podcast! Thoughtful, insightful, and hilarious commentary, analysis, interviews and recaps from Sean & Evan. Their deep knowledge and appreciation for the game is a fun complement to anyone watching for the first time with season 41 or longtime viewers, and their interviews with former players are excellent. Can’t wait for the new episodes each week!

My fave new podcast
Love this pod! The hosts are both so interesting, intelligent and have a lively fun conversations that are so thoughtful. It is a breath of fresh air in the Survivor space. I especially love how they take into consideration past contestants that have been so under appreciated (often middle aged women). They do a fantastic job of showing how game play favors strong young men. I really love this podcast and look forward to it every week. It helps w watching Survivor which I love but find much annoying about it.
