Awesome Podcast!
I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts (I’m embarrassed to admit how many), and this is truly one of my favorites! These ladies make you feel like you are their lifelong friends! I love the deep dives into the cases as well as the compassion and empathy they show the victims. Great job, ladies! I love coffee but I’m holding up my wine glass to y’all! Cheers! Keep up the amazing work!

One of my new favorite podcasts!
LOVE this podcast! It is so refreshing to hear girls talking about true crime. I literally have found myself laughing out loud at some of the things that they say or do. I also really love how they DO NOT SWEAR!!! It seems like every podcast these days the host swears but not these school teachers! I started at the beginning and can’t help but binge listen…as much as that is possible with 3 little kids. 😆 Keep it up, girls!!

Mediocre
Allison is a good host. She is mature, well spoken and educated. Maggie should not be on a podcast. It is unsettling that someone so naive and ignorant is representing the families of these victims. Her research is lacking, her common sense and knowledge of basic life events is also absent. I would skip the cases Maggie does and focus on Allison’s cases.

Love these ladies!
These ladies are so real, it seems like a conversation with friends. Even more, their intros are quite thoughtful and captivating. And the icing on the cake…it’s not the same old cases done by every other podcast. I’ve been an avid true crime podcast fan for a while, and many of their cases are new to me. My new favorite!

Obscure cases
I started listening because C&C covered the case of Karen Swift, who was the victim of an unsolved cold case from my hometown. They covered things I didn’t even know, now I’m addicted and joined their Patreon for more! I hope they keep covering cases like these because these victims and their families deserve peace and resolve.

Sort of Like this Podcast
Really a 3.5 stars. I do kind of enjoy this podcast, but sometimes their theories seem like major leaps. Plus, on the 8 Day Bride episode, they are so amused that the police call the suspect’s story “fantastic.” As in fabulous. Are these two really teachers? Because it never seems to dawn on them that “fantastic” also means over-the-top or implausible. A small thing, but really makes me wonder, if they can’t figure out the meaning of the police’s wording choice, should they be trying to figure out a crime case? This type of confusion happens in other episodes too. I listen, but not my favorite crime podcast.

Amazing podcast
I love this podcast so much! In currently a senior in high school (in Kentucky) and I wish Maggie and Allison were my teachers. Maggie’s accent remind me of my French teacher, who was one of my favorite teachers. I love how they mentioned Versailles Kentucky. The love notes are an amazing addition to the podcast. Today I’m bingeing this podcast to celebrate finishing my college essays. Maggie and Allison just seem so genuine. They really are passionate about this podcasts, and their episodes always focus on the victims. This isn’t one of those podcasts that is just focused on money, they are genuinely passionate about this topic. I hope you all have an amazing school year. My school had a snake fall out of my English teacher’s ceiling, so I hope your schools are pest free! I hope that I’m like these two when I’m older, they’re amazing! Sorry about any typos.

Wonderful true crime podcast!!!!
I am a true crime junkie through and through. It’s pretty much all my podcast library consists of. With that being said, I feel like I have heard so many of the same stories over and over. Enter Coffee and Cases. They truly do cover the lesser known and unheard of cases. That’s wonderful for a true crime junkie and even more wonderful that information is being put out there that could potentially lead to a break in one of these cases. These ladies are so detailed in the information they provide. When they covered the West Memphis Three case they had some details I had never before heard. And when I say I’ve listened to every podcast and documentary regarding that case I mean it! Seriously, add this podcast to your listening rotation, you won’t regret it.

Best podcast I’ve heard!!!
I actually found Coffee and Cases when an episode was mentioned on a different true crime podcast. I looked you ladies up that night and have been listening everyday since then just to catch up on the episodes. I love the way you show dignity and respect to every single one of the cases that you cover. I am 100% a true crime junkie. I’ve honestly seen or heard most cases that are out there so, I think it’s amazing that you give a voice to the “not so popular ones”. Listening to you ladies makes it feel like I am right there at the table having the conversation with you. Thank you for what you guys do!! I am a co-teacher in a special needs classroom an honest to god, I don’t see how you ladies find the time to squeeze in a podcast on top everything else you do everyday but I’m super glad you do!!! 😊❤️ Ms. Kelly

You got my vote!!!
I recently was selected to participate in the final voting for the Peoples Choice Podcast Awards. One category was best female podcasters. I did not recognize any of the nominees so I started listening. These two ladies have a great rapport. They are great story tellers and I enjoy listening to their personal input. I’ve been telling everyone I know to listen to them. If you love true crime you won’t regret.

I am not sure how I stumbled onto these two and this podcast. I come back to this podcast over and over, they lure you in and pour you some coffee. While we all chit-chat. They somehow talk about horrific crimes in a way that is sympathetic, honest and respectful to their victims. I know they have researched every case they feature, and they do so honorably and to the best of their abilities. These two have become my best friends, my favorite teachers, a part of my coven and most important of all, my favorite podcast. Keep advocating girls. Love the accents, the giggles and the honest reactions.

Amazing true crime podcast!
I’ve already written a review but I need to edit it after reading some of the negative reviews. I have to say that I LOVE that Maggie and Alison share their own stories and may sometimes go off topic. I want to feel like I’m talking to a friend about cold cases and I get this exact feeling when listening to the podcast. I have been a listener since 2020 and I always come back because they show that they truly care. Maggie and Alison do amazing work researching and presenting cases. Especially in the fact that they both still work outside of having a podcast! They bring spotlight to many cases that aren’t widely publicized and I absolutely love that. I started listening when I was a first time stay at home mom in 2020 right when the pandemic hit and now I also work full time but I make sure to tune in on my drives to work! Keep on keeping on and please don’t change a thing about the way you present these cases because you do a PHENOMENAL JOB!

Always Looking Forward to New Episodes
I love this podcast for so many different reasons. To start, the hosts seem so sweet and earnest. Maggie and Allison treat every case with the utmost respect. They have great banter but they don’t let that banter overshadow the facts of the cases they cover. They cover a lot of cases I’d never heard of before and I love that they’re shining a light on these lesser known cases and getting the word out. The cases are well-researched and I love that the episodes are a bit on the longer side - I love hearing as much detail as I can about a case! I only wish there were more episodes!

Listen to this, I like my coffee hot as well!
I have not stopped listening since I found the coffee and cases podcast. In my car, while I’m working, while I’m cleaning. I love listening to these ladies tell a story. Each story is a little known case instead of a well known one. I have skipped listening to other podcasts that have come out with new episodes because I get wrapped up in how these stories have been told. Thank you!

Thursdays are my favorite!
Most people look forward to Friday morning because it’s the last day of the work week, but I look forward to my Thursday morning just as much because of this podcast. I work in healthcare and some days it is really hard to be excited to go to work. But every Thursday I have coffee and cases to listen to on my drive in and that’s enough to get me excited to hop in my car and head to the hospital! Two of the best storytellers in the true crime world!

Creepy Soothing Vibes
I love this podcast! I listen to a lot of true crime shows and I love finding a show with hosts that make me feel like I'm sitting in the room with them. My favorite thing about this show is that they reach out to family members, facebook groups, and other sources to ensure they're reporting everything as accurately as they can. They take a lot of listener "sleuth-hound" suggestions which I think is amazing. These ladies always seem to think the same way I do about the creepy cases they talk about, and have a lot of insights I haven't thought about before!! Their voices are very calming and sweet, they crack me up, and they seem like such sweethearts. I love this show!! Keep it up yall!! Love you guys!!

Do more research!!
I was really looking forward to listening to the Erica Fraysure podcast. Unfortunately due to the lack of research done I only made it half way through. As someone who is very, VERY familiar with the case I am extremely disappointed in the amount of effort that went into this episode. Maybe try reading a few more articles, watch some of the news segments and interviews Jesus knows there are hundreds. I just hate that this had the potential to be so good and bring new light to her case but instead was just a lot of uneducated commentary.

🙅🏻♀️ to Sleuth Hounds
I really like their stories, when they don’t get TOO far off topic, but I cannot stand the whole “sleuth hounds” saying. It’s only MY opinion, but it makes me cringe every time they say it. I get that it’s their “thing” and I probably would give them a 5 star rating if it didn’t bother me so much.

I have absolutely fallen in love with Coffee with Cases! Maggie and Allison were actually my English teachers, so it’s pretty cool to hear them so passionate about others things besides the characteristics of different poems or talking about parallels through a piece of old English literature. Not only that, but they are talking about these cases as a resource to help the families who were affected by the case, which shows how great of people they are. I love the friendship between them and I will be continuing to listen to this true crime podcast!

Great for Classroom Use
This teacher has fallen in love with Coffee & Cases Podcast. After hearing about it on a teacher Facebook page, I decided to give it a listen, and I was immediately hooked. The podcasters use appropriate language and cite their sources (a skill many students have difficulty with). I will be using this podcast in my classroom for narrative techniques, incorporating sources, providing commentary, and so many other skills students today need. The words, “Thank You” are not enough for fellow teachers Allison & Maggie!

LOVE Coffee & Cases!!!
While I LOVE a good True Crime podcast, one thing I don’t love is the vulgar language that most of the podcasters feel is necessary to tell their stories. Coffee & Cases does a great job of just telling the story to help get justice fir the victim. That’s exactly what I want to hear in a True Crime podcast! The girls are so funny & their personalities are so sweet! I could totally picture myself hanging out & having coffee with them someday!

Too much commentary
An episode of this podcast was posted on Podcast group. I was really looking forward to listening to it. I couldn’t finish the episode because there was just too much commentary. Podcast hosts that go on tangents, speculating & constantly giving their opinion when telling a story is very frustrating.

Great banter and coverage
These ladies do a wonderful job covering lesser known cases. As a regular listener of all things true crime, I highly recommend listening. I especially enjoyed your case coverage of Leigh Occhi. -your friend at Twisted Travel and True Crime.

True Crime Told Tactfully
Coffee and Cases is not a typical trashy, true-crime podcast. Allison and Maggie are thoughtful and considerate in telling each story with the intent of bringing awareness so that each case may someday be solved. I have a long daily commute and this podcast gives me a reason to look forward to the drive.

A good listen
I just started listening to this podcast. These ladies are good storytellers and you can tell they have a great rapport with each other. The only thing about the podcast that bothers me a bit is the background music. I find it distracting to have creepy music playing in the background while they cover each case. Loads of listeners must enjoy it or they wouldn’t be doing it. But for me, I would rather just hear them talk. They are entertaining on their own:)

Content and story telling is outstanding
I am very picky about which true crime podcasts I listen too, but this one is just too good to pass up. They cover obscure cases, that I’ve never heard of, and really know how to keep things interesting. Listened to episode 1-3 last night. Plan on binging for the rest of the week. - Eric (Find me in the dark podcast)

Great Podcast
Like a lot of people I’ve been working from home for the past 6 months. I’m used to office noise and conversations around me at the office so I needed some background noise while working at home. I started to listening to podcast while I work. This show has provided much more than just background noise. I find myself listening and not working (don’t tell my boss). One thing I appreciate about this podcast is their language is clean. I don’t have to worry about my little ones walking in and every other word be a cuss word. This show proves that you can have a great podcast without the explicit language.

A new favorite!
So I found this podcast while looking for a podcast on a specific missing person - Trenton Duckett. I was so pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed listening- so I then started to binge them all! I love how there is not side chatter at the beginning - it gets right down to business, telling the case. The hosts voices are pleasant and they do a great job. It quickly became one of my favorite podcasts - and let me tell you, I am a crime podcast JUNKIE. I have searched through a ton of podcasts, trying to find a new one that has the right features for me. This is it! Thank you, ladies! I look forward to binging all the episodes.

The story telling capability of these two, is completely unmatched! It’s the cleanest true crime podcast I’ve listened to, yet! No foul words or vulgarity. Love how you hit on various points of the victims lives. It puts into perspective who the podcast is truly about, raises awareness and keeps the case in the spotlight, in the event anyone may have any information that could still be helpful to bringing the family closure, and solving what must be an absolutely horrific nightmare for the loved ones. Thank you for doing this! Would LOVE two cases a week!

Fun to listen to...
These gals are fun to listen to. They keep the listener engaged by making it really interesting. The content is factual based, which makes for a great story. I appreciate that their call to action is presented in such a way that you’re drawn in to think through how I may actually be able to help if relevant. We should all be looking for ways to give back to communities and make a difference for someone. Couple that with a side dish of entertainment and you’ve got a great podcast. Well done, ladies. - E174: The Yogurt Shop MurdersAround 11pm on December 6, 1991 at the Austin, Texas I Can’t Believe It’s Yogurt shop, 17-year-olds Eliza Thomas and Jennifer Harbison had just closed the cash register and, according to some customers who had gotten their frozen yogurt to go near closing time, were waiting on a couple of male customers seated at a booth to leave. The two girls had plans with Jennifer’s younger sister, Sarah, and another friend, Amy (both of whom were also at the yogurt shop waiting for Eliza and Jennifer to finish their shift) to have a sleepover. Instead of a fun-filled night together, however, a call came in concerning a reported fire at the ICBY store. When firefighters responded, they didn't just discover a fire; they also discovered the remains of four young girls. It turned into a case riddled with trials, convictions, and overturned sentences-- a case that still lacks closure.. - E173: Rodney MarksRodney Marks was only 32, but he had already earned so much respect as an astrophysicist. And he took his work seriously, signing up for multiple long stints at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole station, run by the National Science Foundation. A job assignment like this one was not for the faint of heart as it required working more than half a year in darkness and in an environment of such extreme temperatures that even a plane couldn’t land because its fuel would freeze. It also meant months of complete isolation from the outside world; so, when Rodney Marks fell ill, there were limited resources. When he died on May 12, 2000, it would be over five months before his body could be removed from the Antarctic continent and an autopsy performed. A full seven months after Marks passed away, autopsy results revealed the biggest shock of all—he had been poisoned. - E170: Tiffany ValianteTiffany Valiante had just graduated from high school and was looking forward to attending Mercy College in the fall, where she had been awarded a volleyball scholarship. The night of July 12th, 2015, after a small disagreement with her parents, Tiffany wandered away from her parent’s home, leaving her cell phone behind. Immediately, her family began searching for her. In the early morning hours of July 13th, Tiffany’s uncle approached some police officers working a train accident. It was then that he learned there had been a victim of that accident–a young woman on the tracks who had been hit by the train. It was his niece, Tiffany. Her death was quickly ruled a suicide and the case was closed. However, Tiffany was found shoeless and only partially dressed; her shoes were later discovered some distance away yet her feet were clean. Could her death, instead, have been the result of foul play? Please consider joining Tiffany’s family in fighting for further investigation into the case by urging the New Jersey Attorney General to reopen the investigation; to do so, please consider signing their change.org petition found here. In the memoir, he wrote about the various standoffs he has been involved in, including Waco – his involvement as a negotiator in this crisis would change the FBI forever. - E167: Rey RiveraThe reboot of Unsolved Mysteries on Netflix, focused the first episode on the suspicious death of Rey Rivera on May 16th, 2006 in Baltimore, Maryland. While law enforcement quickly ruled Rivera’s death a suicide, such a ruling (at its core) discounts many statistical improbabilities and ignores glaring questions. This week, Allison and Maggie delve deep into the case, exploring details not aired on the Unsolved Mysteries episode, to determine the most likely cause of Rey Rivera’s untimely death. - E166: The Freeway PhantomIn the early 70s, no fewer than six young girls were abducted from the streets of Washington, D.C. Their bodies were discovered weeks to sometimes only hours later, most discovered along the Baltimore-Washington Parkway in Prince George's County, Maryland. Since the answer to who might have been behind the crimes remained elusive, he was assigned a name to represent that evasiveness-- the Freeway Phantom.
- E165: The MothmanFor thirteen months from 1966 to 1967, a creature (or creatures) terrorized several small communities across Ohio and West Virginia, particularly the West Virginia town of Point Pleasant. The stories that come from witnesses to the phenomena are the stuff of nightmares, so much so that they were later made into a hit film. Was this all just a big media storm and all hogwash? Some say it was another example of mass hysteria, of people buying into a myth. Do you agree? Or will you even allow yourself to believe even a small portion of the stories to be true? Listen to our coverage to hear the history, the headlines, and the horror surrounding the Mothman. - E164: Dulce AlavezIt was supposed to be a fun day at the park when Noema, along with her 3-year-old son, met both her 5-year-old daughter and her 8-year-old sister at the bus stop after school. She took the kids to get ice cream before heading to Bridgeton City Park in New Jersey on September 16th, 2019. Noema’s son and daughter bounded out of the car to begin playing with she stayed behind in the car to help her sister with homework before they would join in the fun. However, not even 30 minutes into their visit, the day became a nightmare for Noema when she realized that her son was still on the playground but that her 5-year-old daughter, Dulce, was nowhere to be seen. Now, more than three years later, we are still asking, “What happened to Dulce Alavez?” BLENDJET2: Go to blendjet.com and use code coffeeandcases12 to save 12% off your order OR use my special link and the discount will be applied at checkout: zen.ai/coffeeandcases12 ZENCASTR: Use my special link zen.ai/coffeeandcases and use code coffeeandcases to save 30% off your first three months of Zencastr professional. #madeonzencastr PAPERLIKE: From now until the end of January, get a free digital pro planner bundle AND free shipping. - E163: Evelyn HartleyThe night of October 24, 1953, was a busy one in La Crosse, Wisconsin as La Crosse State College was celebrating homecoming weekend. Fifteen-year-old Evelyn Hartley had accepted a babysitting job for a local college professor and had just settled down to do some school work when the Rasmussen family had left her in the care of their 20-month-old daughter. But, when Evelyn didn't call her parents at 8:30 to check in with them as she had promised to do, her father grew concerned. Even more alarming was when he arrived at the Rasmussen home to find signs of an apparent break-in yet no sign of his daughter. - E162: Claudia LawrenceThe investigation into Claudia Lawrence’s disappearance first appeared as though it would be one that could be quickly solved. But one very public comment by police changed the course of the investigation into one in which no one seemed to want to get involved. It is a case of video footage and DNA… but no answers. - E161: Chuck MorganWhat happened to Charles “Chuck” Morgan in the spring and summer of 1977 seems the stuff of nightmares— abductions (yes, plural), poison, fear so great that it involves the constant wearing of a bulletproof vest, spies, organized crime, coded messages, and finally… murder. As if those elements aren’t strange enough, nearly every new development in this case will leave those hearing the story scratching their heads in both amazement and confusion. And, as always, you’ll walk away with far more questions than answers. - E160: The Short FamilyWhen Chris Thompson approached his employer’s home around 9 am on the morning of August 15th, 2002 in the small town of Oak Level, Virginia, he expected his boss to step out of the home, ready to go with Chris to pick up the new business truck. What Chris discovered, instead, was that his boss, Michael Short, had been shot, seemingly as he slept on the couch in his garage. When police arrived at the scene, they found Michael’s wife, Mary, in the couple’s bed, had also been shot. The couple’s nine-year-old daughter, Jennifer, was missing. A search commenced for the missing child, an Amber Alert was created, and news stations flashed her picture-- all hoping that she would be found alive and well. As weeks passed, police explored various leads from a stalker, to a stranger, to a disgruntled customer, and even explored theories spawned by the rumor mill in hopes of solving the crime and bringing Jennifer safely home. Unfortunately, on September 25th, 2002, thirty miles away in Rockingham County, North Carolina, fragments of human remains were discovered that later were verified to be those of young Jennifer. She too had been shot. Who could have committed such a heinous crime and what was their motive, especially since money (around $600) remained on the kitchen counter inside the Short family home untouched? Will those who have information, as local law enforcement has indicated that they do, finally be willing to share the details they recall that could lead to justice? And will YOU share about this case and help push for answers and closure?
