Thank you for episode 435!!!
This was an Amazingly helpful and interesting podcast. I am trying to taper off of Paxil and klonopin at 69 yrs old. I have been on both for 35 yrs and have been desperately searching for information on tapering. I have worked with 2 psychiatrists and have a much clearer and detailed understanding than all the yrs of researching. I am so grateful to Dr Horowitz for sharing his personal experience with tapering off his medications and for sharing the information on how to taper. He’s amazing and I would love to work with him. Please bring him back again! I would like to know more about tapering 2 medications at the same time. Thank you so very much!

Revolutionary
Thank you Dr. Leaf for episode 435. I’m currently trying to wean from an SNRI for the 3rd time, and I too have experienced depersonalization, derealization, psycosis, headaches, night sweats, tremors, dysarthria and so on. Not very many people are talking about antidepressant withdrawal so thank you for being the peoples voice. Really crucial stuff here 🙏🏼

Great Topics
This podcast has so many interviews with different angles but all related to Dr Leaf’s findings from years in the profession and research. I found the episode on Highly Sensitive People life changing! It helped me understand a memory that was unlocked from doing the Neurocycle and so many other things in my life.

Too Many Ads Make Dr Leaf Seem Insincere
I understand that few things are free, and I find the Patreon vs listen with ads model reasonable. But as a first time listener, I selected a 22 minute episode about disappointment. It began with an ad for a podcasting platform. Then came an ad for mental health. Both seemed ok as they are in keeping with Dr Leaf’s wheelhouse. Then she was interrupted mid sentence for a highly scripted ad about zit cream. I was beginning to wonder if she will advertise literally anything. Then she was once again interrupted by something nutritional or diet-related and I just gave up. Such a shame, really. I subscribe to 3 podcaster’s paid extensions and would have considered Dr Leaf, but after all that shilling, I wonder how hard up she is and what she really stands for.

She’s becoming TOXIC
I’ve been listening to Dr. Leaf for a few years, and also bought her book. I’m completely done paying attention to her after episode #357. It’s such a disappointment to observe how far removed she is compared to who she was when I first started listening. People typically change and grow; unfortunately Caroline Leaf is going in the wrong direction. I’ve lost respect for her and highly recommend not listening to this podcast.

Yikes 🫣
Dr. Leaf first caught my attention by using God’s Word in her approach to science. God created science 🧬 We don’t need to run from it!! Science and Faith are complimentary, not contrary! I’ve loved her for this approach, but she abandoned her WORD :( in order to pander to the loudest voices of our society. The silent majority was with you, Caroline. Careful here. The group you are pandering to tends to eat it’s own. You are brilliant and I’m praying for a revelation in your spirit! 🙏🏻

Episode w/ Josh Peck
I love everything I’ve learned from your podcasts and your book, “Cleaning Up Your Mental Mess”. Life changing! My favorite guest you’ve had on your podcast has to be Josh Peck. His story and your interaction with him revealed real life application of all the things I’ve been learning since discovering you and your work 3 months ago. I look forward to each new episode.

The ads are taking me out of this great podcast
I really enjoy these podcast but holy cow it feels like there are too many ads. They all use the same music and feel like they occur every few minutes. Could there be more upfront so that there are less interruptions throughout the podcast? Just as soon as I am getting into a topic, the same music comes in and totally takes me out of my focus. The content is so good! I hope this is seen as constructive.

Sadly disappointed
After listening to episode 361, I am disappointed that you have encouraged content that is not God-honoring Dr Leaf. I had truly admired your admiration of how God created our incredible brain but when you host people who oppose sanctity of life, among other Christian principles, it devalues all you you use to stand for. I’m sorry to see you have sold out for ratings and compromised your beliefs. James 4:4 tell us “whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God” Caroline ~ Please come back to your first love of Jesus… Honor Him first in all that we do and say ~~ Keeping you and your beautiful family in prayer, Lisa McIntire

Wow! Episode #357 is SO DISAPPOINTING!
I’ve only gotten through a portion of the episode but this guest she has on is so full of judgment, condemnation, propaganda and misinformation, it’s really disgusting? How can a medical professional be trusted with people’s lives and mental health and safety and be so incredibly misinformed about medical facts on the issue of masks and spreading Covid. It’s possible that the countries that have the least Covid spread have it because they’ve locked up their citizens for months on end, taken away their enjoyment of life, family, professions and livelihoods for the “greater good” of their societies. These women who probably have no idea what it is to go out and work day to day in unglamorous jobs to put food on the table for their families have a lot of nerve casting these disparagements. I wonder if the rising rates of broken families, suicide and mental health issues (which is what these women, ironically, should be focused on given their professions) have been considered alongside the drop in cases of a disease that is overwhelmingly not fatal or life threatening in over 97% of cases. I also am hearing her demonizing people who don’t wear masks as not wanting to protect others when there are 0, and I repeat, ZERO, studies that show that mask wearing makes any SIGNIFICANT difference in the spread of Covid or any other virus whatsoever. The only thing this episode is good for is probably exposing this Dr and Dr Leaf’s really uncaring, condescending and inaccurate judgements on probably half the audience, if not more. Really sad to hear this. Hopefully as time goes on and more of this inaccuracy is exposed, these doctors will humbly and honorably retract their false statements, if they’re not too busy on their high horses and soap boxes in the meantime. What an ironic episode given what was SUPPOSED to be the subject matter.

Disappointed
While I appreciate some of the mental health material presented, it is extremely disappointing that Dr. Leaf would allow her platform to be used to deliver one size fits all statements concerning things that are disproven through the scientific method like those discussed in 357. Unfortunately, the resolutions to the issues being discussed in this episode are inaccurate and are not scientifically backed. The irony is that while the guest was talking about narcissism and how people are being narcissistic with theses issues and participating in gaslighting type behaviors, she is actually equally engaging in narcissism and is gaslighting a very large group of people in the world. How incredibly self-unaware. Very sad, very divisive. If you have been struggling psychologically because of what has been taking place the last two years then Do Not Listen to this podcast.

Huge fan of Dr Leaf but not of the ads
I have been a supporter of Dr. Leaf for many years. What she teaches has changed my life. I am so thankful that I found her years ago. However, I find myself no longer listening to her (or watching her YouTube videos) due to all the ads and monetizing. I am all for selling one’s own products or that which supports the beliefs and teachings of the podcaster. But random commercials are annoying.

Life changing!!
Dr. Leaf is so fantastic. She has allowed me to recognize that toxic behavior patterns are a result of a dysregulated mind and nervous system. She’s taught me that pain and emotions are SIGNALS!!! REVOLUTIONARY!! This idea is so simple but was so validating for me as I am highly sensitive and emotional. I now am able to see these subconscious patterns in my every day life to recognize the way I’ve been conditioned, my responses to childhood trauma and has inspired me to work every day to re-conceptualize them. She’s taught me so much, in a way that is comprehensible, and relatable. She makes me feel safe and doesn’t make me feel shameful and gives me hope to change these patterns. She’s changed my life, and she’s allowed me to see where these things come from within myself, and allowed me to recognize and separate myself from the behaviors of others. Her insight and intellect is gold, and this information is vital for the future of medicine. I am so grateful to you Dr. Leaf, I have been reading your most recent book and have been working on the neurocycle app. You’ve changed my life and allowed me to love every single part of myself, and accept that healing and changing neural networks takes time. I’m forever grateful to you!!! I had suffered from severe depression, anxiety, panic attacks, addiction, among many other things in regards to my mental health for many years. My healing journey has only been emphasized by your work. She’s taught me so much and given me hope. Here’s to our beautiful psychoneurobiology!!! I love you Dr. Leaf!! 🤍🧠 Also if I can add a segment that I would like to hear more of, it would be ADHD. I would like to hear about the neurobiology of it, symptoms and how I can better navigate my life with it. I’m certain both my parents have it but we’re never diagnosed. And I’m certain my siblings have it as well. Also some of my friends lol. It needs to be talked about more, and I would love to hear your take on it. Please and thank you! :)

Dr. Caroline Leaf is helping me to rewire my brain and it has been so helpful. It’s amazing to feel the changes in my though processing which also impacts my mood. It seems so many people are struggling with infertility. Thank you Dr. Leaf for all you do. Many blessings!

Great content but host won’t stop talking!
The point of having guests is to interview them and let them speak. I agree with several of these reviews in that you keep talking over your guest. If you just want the show to be you teaching then that would be great- I’m interested in the topics - but if your going to invite guest then please have a back and forth convo and not a competition. It annoying, distracting, and becomes so frustrating I have to stop listening.

Interrupting guest speakers
Just listened to episode 321 and was so looking forward to tearing the information from the guest speaker…. But the whole time the guest speaker was trying to talk, the host was interrupting her, rewording what she was saying, etc. It made it so hard to continue listening and I felt so bad for the guest speaker- every time she would get passionate about what she was saying, the host would interrupt her train of thought or sentence. Very rude! I would have gotten more from just listening to the guest speaker.

Host interrupts and rambles during guests talking points
I barely made it through one episode because Dr Leaf had several disorganized interjections while Thais was explaining attachment theories. It seemed like Dr Leaf was attempting to make a connection between what Thais was teaching and her own program that she is selling. There felt like a lot of conflict- Dr Leaf should either back off when she hosts a guest or don’t invite guests that cause her to try and talk over them and derail the guests message.

I’m going to do the obligatory, “I never write reviews” preface to this review, but it’s true! I’ve only ever written one other review in my life!!! Dr. Leaf has truly helped me. I was broken and felt like there was no hope, and when I saw the title of her podcast I thought, “this is exactly what I need to do: clean up my mental mess!” Her content is inviting, engaging, and encouraging. I look forward to listening to her everyday while taking long walks. You can tell that Dr. Leaf has really done the work on herself, and practices what she preaches. Listening to this podcast has helped bring me back to life. I love how much emphasis she puts on creativity, and the importance of fostering creativity in your daily life. Like gold in podcast land!
I love lighthearted podcasts to pass the time, but this one is incredibly helpful and meaningful. Caroline Leaf carries so much love and understanding for the struggles we face in our life’s journey. Years ago, her book about switching on your brain gave me great tools for moving into mental health. I’ve done many metacog pages and looked at them for 7 minutes, and they actually changed my thoughts. They allowed me to let go of pain and move into wholeness. Finding this podcast was like finding a goldmine of resources! I’m so grateful.

Let your guests talk
While listening to the recent interview with Josh Harris I was increasingly frustrated. Rather than allowing the guest to speak his thoughts, he was constantly interrupted by the host who used almost every comment he made to launch into a teaching monologue. Not only was I frustrated because I had wanted to hear his story, I was embarrassed for him as he was subjected to repeatedly listening to the host teach him, rather than converse with him. Please allow your guests the honor of at least sharing center stage when you host. If you want to teach, do so through your guest insights rather than running over them.

let the guest speaker finish their sentence & less ads
Each podcast has a very intriguing topic, so I would love to continue listening to this podcast, but I just can’t stand how Dr. leaf doesn’t let the guest speaker finish their sentence! Please stop interrupting and give more mic time to your guests. Or divide out the episode where one is for guest focused & another is for Dr. Leaf to share her wisdom. Sad that the way Dr. Leaf moderates the episode is stopping the listeners to continue following her podcast.

Too many ads
The content is great, but there are too many ads! I find it ironic that the content is about cleaning up your mental mess, helping you free your brain from toxicity, but at the same time through the ads, using marketing tactics to manipulate your brain. So you’ll be sinking into the content, freeing your mind, and before you know it, your mind is sidetracked and being influenced to buy some product. Unfortunate.

Please let the guest speak
I love your work and always learn something new every time I listen to you speak. You have changed my life in many ways. I am fascinated by your guests also but find myself becoming annoyed every single time I listen to your podcast. If you could refrain from interjecting at every single opportunity and let your guests share their wisdom, it would make your podcast go from 4 to 5 stars. I mean no disrespect. You are amazing. My advice is to let your guests share their expertise without constant comment and interruptions. I noticed an improvement as more podcasts are made but it still is an issue and prevents your podcasts from being five stars.

May 30th with Dr. Cloud
You two are awesome together. I don’t know how to go back and get title, episode # and year... but Dr. Leaf was a guest on my first Joyce Meyer Women’s Conference in 2010. I have a DVD series by her. Her teachings are phenomenal. Thank you and Dr. Cloud for confirming some boundaries I’ve been developing recently. Best to you, Dr. Leaf! Episode 117 w/ Dr. Cole is the best I’ve listened to: mainly because you gave him time to speak without much interruption! He’s also a bright communicator. I learned well from this episode! Episode 119: I enjoyed the healthy conversation and learned much. My niece, a college professor, agrees that you’re amazing! Overcoming addiction and how to help Nathan Padilla 12/14/20: I love what he said about filling up for 4 hours before giving out! I do the same thing! Dr. David Levy: episode 32 & 33 Helped me face the ongoing layers of forgiveness. I love his attitude too. Dr. Peter Breggin was very wonderful! Your interaction with him was also enlightening. His humility exudes from him, and I like that you said: “If you can’t afford a psychiatrist, you can afford a BOOK!!! (I’m skipping around your podcasts, while learning how to navigate through, and change my settings!) Episodes 45, 46 are life-changing. Why do we think we can’t do things? Because of laziness! I prefer to listen than read, but of course, I don’t retain as much!!! I will make an effort in my almost 68 year-old brain, to change that mindset and discipline myself to read more! Thanks for your work Dr. Caroline, though I had much difficulty understanding you and having to relisten to segments, for example you say “buld” instead of “build”(pronounced bild) so I repeat the sentence and correct things in my mathematical, perfectionistic brain! Episode 47 helped me to accept more the things I cannot change. Your guest is power-packed from head to toe with what helps humanity. Thanks for the different angles of showing how love heals; we’re wired for community; accept what is and allow The Lord to use it for his glory! I thank God for all your episodes. I went back to the beginning and am enjoying them all no matter what the focus. They’re helping me! Podcast with David Allen will be replayed for sure. He’s no-nonsense and his tips are simple and do-able. Thanks Dr. Leaf. Podcast with “Dr.” John Maxwell on 4/25/20 is the funniest and most enlightening! I’ve heard him present before, and learned a lot about failure! January 2021: Tana Amen’s story resonated with me. So much that I teared up! 3/15/21: Very helpful. Changed my thoughts Re not getting adequate sleep. I hope to remember to embrace all-nighters from now on. I will encourage my daughter to listen too!

Confused
I heard Dr Leaf speaking at a church conference and loved her material. I downloaded the app and began listening. Over time I find that many of the things being discussed and spoken of do not line up with that same biblical view point that I fist encountered. I did not expect the podcast to be the exact same as the conference but at this point it’s like I was listening to someone totally different. Very confused by the change. I was looking forward to preordering her new book but am now very unsure of what I would be getting.

Cheaper than therapy and more effective
I’ve gotten in the habit of listening to an episode each week, taking notes, and really trying to apply the lessons to my daily life. I’m already so much happier and better equipped to deal with mental health struggles! This is more progress than I have ever made before when paying for therapy sessions. I feel more responsible for and in control of my mental health and behaviors. Can’t recommend this podcast enough!

I adore Caroline Leaf. I have done her studies, enjoyed her speak in person, and listened to countless videos. Although I can get a good bit here and there from the podcast, I miss the biblical tie ins and extensive neurological information. Too focused on selling and gut check on some info that is being dispensed
I listened to two episodes and found them both disappointing. She really wanted to sell an app in one and a book in the other. Her steps were vague and over simplistic. Her solution for OCD was ridiculously over simplified. I worry people will find themselves misled and struggling with deeper discouragement.

ADHD “hoax?” 98% of cancers stem from our thoughts?
I was excited based on the episode titles to dive into this podcast and learn more about neuroscience and the way it impacts us, but only made it through 3. If only I could have told my best friend to have more positive thinking to prevent cancer and have better treatment outcomes, perhaps it wouldn’t have killed her. And I suppose my son’s adhd is a hoax, best toss his life-altering medicine down the toilet, since one of his disabilities with a label probably isn’t real. I worry about the harm this podcast may cause others who do not have better knowledge of these subjects, and are presented with her stigmatizing claims about learning disabilities and oncology.

Very thought provoking and well researched!
I love Dr. Leaf’s work and all the guests she has brought on have been fantastic. I am always challenged every episode and excited to learn more. My only critic is the length of episodes. I often put off listening since they are so long. I know Dr. Leaf is very excited by all her guests but I think if her questions were more precise and to the point it would help. Many of her questions are long run on’s and there’s a lot of excited interrupting and back and forth I think it’s audibly a little ‘messy’ for a podcast. Overall though love the show and thankful for Dr. Leaf doing this amazing work!

Circadian Fasting
This very informative discussion was just the sort of thing missing completely in modern medical training. I went to med school in the eighties and am a pediatrician. Nutrition was rarely ever addressed and certainly nothing on the brain/ gut connection. We could help our patients so much more with this type of information instead of stomping out fires with medicine over and over! Thank you so much.

Great info but...
The information shared was definitely valuable, but it was frustrating that Dr. Avery kept on being interrupted , and a couple of times would not complete that that. It even seemed that sometimes he would have to talk over her interruption when he was trying to complete his thoughts.

Great Content, Not So Great Communication
I love the topics discussed. It’s all so enlightening and interesting. However, Dr. Leaf seems to constantly interrupt her guests and speak in extremely long, run-on sentences at super sonic speed. Then she has to remind the guest what they were saying and where they left off. It’s just a bit frustrating. But I try to endure it for the wonderful content.

I’m surprised you would endorse Dr. Grundy when he has no legitimate science to back up what he sells. Your interview with him was very different from most of your interviews. I’ve never heard you so quiet. I wondered why?

Thank you, I feel good and downright hopeful!
Thank you Dr. Leaf. I’ve been going through a tough time (like most people during Covid 19). I’m a self employed real estate agent with my sister as my business partner. I’m married (my husbands employer is essential so he’s been going to work this entire time) with two children (who are attending school from home). Your Sept 23 episode spoke right to me. It’s been about a week since I’ve heard it and my relationship with my husband is already getting better. I’ve also decided to go back to working for someone, a tough decision after 3.5 years of self employment. I’ve cried so much less these last few days. I can now say I feel good and downright hopeful, some feelings I haven’t felt in way too long. Thank you for the work you do and please continue your podcast it’s changed my life and my family’s.

Mark Groves-Please bring him back!
I just listened to your podcast with Mark Grove about Vulnerability vs over sharing and what an amazing interview that was.. Thank you for considering him to teach us about healthy relationships. He does an incredible job suggesting ways to get to know, and honor ourselves (self-awareness), to value painful breakups if in fact thought us something about us we didn’t yet know.. what an opportunity for growth and development. I hope you bring him back to talk about the feminine and masculine roles we play in society and in relationships. Look forward to this treat.

2nd attempt
I’m listening. This is the 2nd attempt to love this podcast. Dr. Leaf is super smart and I love her book Switch on your brain. I wish she would talk slower and take some breaks in between sentences. she talks way too fast and it went on and on so then it just became noise. I’m sure it’s because she is excited to share information with her audience.

Wisdom + Science
Dr Leaf is an absolute gift to this world. Her work is so insightful and I love knowing the science behind the methods, because it clearly shows how effective they are on the human body. I personally would love more podcasts on her speaking on her research, and less interviews! I think you can parse down your information into really bite sized pieced podcasts to create an even bigger following!! Thanks for all you do!!!

ANGST is the way I’m feeling-Thank You!
Just listened to the August 19 podcast entitled “how to subscribe from toxic thinking” This is one of my favorite podcasts by Dr. Leaf. Thank you for helping to define how many of us are feeling during these challenging days and an unsettled mind. I have been struggling to get back into “flow” with my work and now I have practical tools on how to approach this and unsubscribe from my toxic thoughts. Keep up the great work and conversations, you’re helping people more than you could possibly imagine, God bless you Dr. Leaf!

I appreciate her science!
I have loved listening to Dr. Leaf for years, and still do, yet, we started bringing current events, BLM, and injustice issues into the table, I was interested in what she would speak on, and disappointed it felt very one sided. What a shame. I wish we kept politics off this. To discuss racism is more than understandable, but BLM is a cult set on causing havoc and overturning any law and order. More faith based mind/brain connection would be better. Stay away from politics.

I’ve learned so much!
I am extremely grateful for this podcast, especially the one on being a Highly Sensitive person. It helped me understand myself a lot and learn to extend myself more grace. I really enjoy the content as it is very informational and is broken down in a way my brain can understand. Thank you for all of this free content that is informing us! I also love your gentle spirit. It’s very good at communicating, making sure you understand the one you are interviewing, and so kind. My only hang-up was during one podcast. Homosexuality was discussed and it sent me into a lot of confusion. I felt confused about God and his word. I was thankful for the thoughts though because I could research and solidify what I believed, but for a less mature person, it could potentially be a little more harmful. Either way, I am still extremely grateful and believe this podcast is valuable. As listeners, it’s our responsibility anyway to decide what we do with information we hear, and what we do or don’t agree on. Thank you, Dr. Leaf, for all you’ve shared!!

Dr. Leaf, a must green in your mental health diet
I found Dr. Leaf through the Holy Spirit directing me right to her book, “Switch On Your Brain”, whilst looking for help after a traumatic series of anxiety issues. Quite literally, I found her book in the Christian book section at BandN. I was skeptical at first, but was desperate for relief so I began the detox. I’m on the 2nd phase (another 21 day process), of the 21 day detox. My advice is this dear reader, Dr. Leaf is brilliant, she’s gifted, and driven to help heal others with the extraordinary twist of being a full on fire Christian. Sadly, she hooks into every freebie to offset costs which break into her podcasts which are hugely disruptive, plus the guests are often brilliant hot gusts of air. Rarely have I heard someone that is equally yoked in her viewpoint spiritually, which does have a bit of pearl and swine effect and rather off putting. Dr. Leaf, you seriously don’t need these ego booster pals to confirm what your audience knows. We come listening to you... and with that request, less of them and more Dr. Leaf, please.

I've always "known" Dr. Leaf's teachings to be true and accurate, I simply couldn't articulate these knowings properly. Awesome episode
This has been a very informative and eye opening, rather brain enlightenment podcast. As I listened I wondered has the church become a band-aide? Could that be a reason many people have over generalized church as a temporary fix, because they are looking for a permanent fix. Or they are not hearing what they need that addresses what they are feeling on the inside. I extremely love hearing options of what we should be saying or how we should be reacting.

Used to be one of my favorites, but no longer
If you’ve found this podcast through hearing Dr Leaf in a Christian setting, you may be upset by some of her non biblical viewpoints. I used to love listening, now I take it all with a grain of salt and am increasingly less likely to listen. I’m saddened by several of her guests’ viewpoints recently and by Dr Leaf’s agreement with them. I love the mind/brain work that she has done and shares, but I am now very cautious of anything she supports.

Helpful but... one sided
I’ve appreciated Dr. Leaf’s science & related practical helps, but in the recent months, the sociological/political discussions have been thoroughly frustrating as many times she & her guests profess to have “spiritual-mindedness“ and open mindedness, however, the conversations are nearly a always one sided and tend to be quasi-Biblical at best and occasionally anti-Biblical. For instance, episode 180 is a conversation with TD Jakes, who at one point criticized white teachers for being racists, as they have a greater rate of kicking black kids out of their classes than black teachers... humm, why??? No solution. Could it be an attitude of disrespect of the black kids to their white teachers because of the negative talk in families & with friends?!? We need a different train of discourse... No more accusing people of bigotry/prejudice/racism, especially when the attitudes and intentions are completely unknown. I’m disappointed with these conversations, and would wish Dr.Leaf to get back to regular programming, as these episodes have gone far to increase anxiety & stir division.

Misinformed and hateful
I’ve been really enjoying listening to this podcast for a few years now as I went through a huge life change. Her knowledge and wisdom has been very helpful. I was very disappointed with a recent podcast on Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Having been married to someone with this for 30 years, I’ve done years of extensive research on the subject. I was not only appalled that the speaker, who was supposedly an author and authority on the subject was so misinformed, but brought in recent politics to attack anyone who disagreed with them. When the good Dr. jumped on the bandwagon I was crushed. They called “anyone who didn’t wear a mask , a narcissist”...what?! Freedom to chose is a far cry from a personality disorder. How about anyone not wearing a mask is actually taking a personal stand for freedom. Refusing to have their rights taken without burning a police car. Let’s call it a personal protest. Are rioters and protesters “Narcissists” also?! It seems their logic is gravely one sided. They then proceeded to attack people who had a “high school education or less”, saying they were unable to make reasonable decisions, shocking. This is not only arrogant, but prejudice. You cannot claim that certain people groups should matter, but not others. Thats racism. Attacking someone’s intelligence (especially without even knowing them) is appalling, very unkind, politically driven and hateful. They went on to say that we HAVE TO all choose the same option during this insane time...Really? Isn’t his America?! And have YOU done your research?! This muzzle does NOTHING to prevent disease, it even says so right on the mask packaging itself. Not to mention extremely qualified scientists and physicians all over the world who oppose mask wearing to prevent Co-vid 19. I thought we had the right to educate ourselves and express our freedoms in this great nation?! Especially in a time when people want to say let’s “think of one another” and the “common good” it seems that common sense and actual kindness has gone out the window. And using your freedom of speech to promote YOUR agenda is the goal of this podcast. If you agree with this leftist, liberal, socialist idea of stripping away personal freedom that we’ve been privileged to enjoy for over 200 years, then you should listen. Arrogant hate speech and misinformation have no place in my world. I’m done with toxic people and twisted thinking. I’ll be moving on.

BLM
I appreciate Dr. Leaf providing a platform for two African Americans to express their experiences with the abuse of power by police. With that said, I wish the guest she brought on could have been leaders of protests or POC who are involved in the ongoing protests. Most of the input that was provided by the guests was purely speculation of the protest. In addition, it would have been far more enriching to have a guest that did not have the opportunities that these two young men had. From what it sounds they do not share the COMMON experiences the majority of African Americans endure on a daily basis while living in poverty or less than middle class. I highly encourage Dr. Leaf to bring on a leader of BLM to better inform her audience on what the messages of the protests are and what the experience has been like for them. What this episode lacked was empathizing with the peaceful protester, rather than placing the onus on protesters of encouraging violence (violence that has also been proven to been caused by police and non-black radical groups). Overall this episode has left a sour taste in my mouth with how the subject was discussed. As a long time follower of Dr. Leaf, I was expecting a for her to provide the audience with a more realistic and openminded point of view regarding this issue. Please consider reopening this discussion to the disproportionally impacted group of African Americans. I guarantee they can provide an in-depth account of not only the BLM movement but also the stress victims of police brutality endure on a daily basis.

For female victims
Many of the concepts talked about on the shows can be applied to all the genders. Unfortunately, it is presented in a manner focusing on women that presents them as victims. The way everything is phrased, such as, “the it is hard for women to stay healthy because of corona virus” or ‘in this situation special to women it is tough to deal with’. Typically, the situation described is something all people deal with, not just women, but it is framed in such a way that makes it seem like women are uniquely vulnerable, or taken advantage of by it. Women should be bolstered as being strong, powerful and independent. This does not do that.

Leaving Bible teaching
This “ therapist” Alyssa Mancao knows nothing about the Bible and Dr. leaf was agreeing with her on everything she said. Compromising
I was excited to find someone that integrated science and faith over a year ago. The past few months the podcasts have had guests who tend to be relevant to society and compromise the faith you once use to speak about so often. You can be both relevant and have convictions. The final straw was endorsing pornography in episode 134. Sex is beautiful and honorable. There is freedom in sex but pornography and introducing other people in the bedroom, which is something your guest Emily endorses, is more than crossing the line.

Episode 134
This message really disturbed me. As a Christian, some of the things that were said and suggested are appalling and degrading to me. Among the suggested things, were sex toys and movies with sexual content. Inside these “stores” are demonic content such as women in chains, for example, of the cover of xxx movies. These are an abomination to God, according to His word. This message is not only telling Christian adults that’s its okay to fool with such things but also it’s telling young women who are tuning in. Most of all, Dr. Caroline Leaf AGREED with this therapist. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Not for me.
Episode # 134 I was a subscriber till I listened to this episode. Not for me. As a Christian I can’t condone the use of pornography at all. It is an evil that has messed up our society in so many ways, child molestation, sex trafficking, objectifying women has ruined many lives, also porn ruins the sanctity of marriage between two people, for life. Otherwise I thought most of the sex info in this episode was great and I practice some of it in my healthy sex life with my hubby. I just wish the porn conversation had been handled in a more responsible way. Very disappointing. I didn’t know she claimed to be a Christian so that’s even worse, I don’t really expect non-Christians to think rightly about it but if a person is a Bible believer there is no way you get to this conclusion. Very irresponsible. Unsubscribing now.

Episode #134
This episode left me confused and disappointed. It was mentioned that women often seem less excited about sex than their spouses. That rings true with me and the women I’ve spoken with over the years (with the exception of two). I was hoping for some help in overcoming my lackluster response to sex, maybe some “ladder thoughts” to get started on the journey toward changing my mind about sex, if indeed it’s “all in my mind.” But no such help in that area. Just a little judgement about how we should be enjoying it as much if not more than our husbands. Thanks for that. The porn discussion was alarming, as well. Porn, really? Hello, human trafficking! How is that not just catering to men and exploiting women? The Outlander comment was also bizarre. Those are actors, not two people who love each other. There is a difference. I am not convinced that watching other people have sex is healthy for us. It kind of seems like “peeping Tom” territory. Also, I was expecting this to be framed within a biblical context and was hoping to share it with my kids as part of an ongoing, healthy conversation about sex, but in the end I found it more destructive than helpful or insightful. Generally, I really do enjoy this podcast and find it helpful. In fact, I was surprised how much I enjoyed the Unf*ck Your Brain episode. She was awesome. In the future, if you do another one on sex, what if you explored thought patterns that landed us in the unhelpful pattern we find ourselves in and how to start thinking differently about it. Also, did you always enjoy sex with your husband or did you go through a period where you struggled to find desire and pleasure in sex? How did you overcome that and enjoy sex with him again? For some of us going on two decades of marriage, that would be a really helpful discussion.

A refreshing take on sex and mental health
I loved Caroline's sex interview with Dr. Emily. They really opened my eyes on a lot of sex myths and explained how to communicate with my partner about sex. I think the discussion about porn was great and it explained that porn can be very harmful, while romantic sex depictions can help a couple with intimacy. Great podcast.

I was living in Tennessee, though I grew up & graduated in Indiana. Most of my family came to see me initially. I know from pictures... I don’t know if she speaks in audiobooks. But I have at least a book, somewhere! It’s the book, ‘Think & Eat Yourself Smart’. I find reading rather difficult, because for the length of coma I was in my eye muscles got really weak, & can no longer seethings close up, as one. I love Even More book/movies, like ‘The Harbinger’?-Jonathan Cahn But, the movie is titled: ‘the Isiah 9:10 judgement’? I have purchased So Many books, I fear that I will never read. Well, I probably wouldn’t have even read this. I would Love to speak to Dr. Leaf! Although, more than that, I would like to give her a hug! Because, many, & I mean Many times I have seen & heard her on different programs, about different things, & I Completely agree... Just hearing something without seeing, will oftentimes put me to sleep, unless I am really into it. I use to listen to the Bible, x1.5 speed. but because of another kind of mocking me listening to it fast, I don’t... I don’t like explaining. & what’s more I think people get annoyed when I do because it takes me longer than they wish. There is so much more, that I would love to discuss with you! But I would just be taking up your time, & I already feel like I'm a waste of time. Shalom, David Todd

Good info but too many ads
I love the info Dr. Leafs shares but there are so many ads on this podcast that there’s a lot of wasted time. If there were less ads in the beginning and throughout the podcast it would be much better. I fast forward to 3 and half minutes on each episode to skip the first set of ads. Time wasting for sure.

Great Help
Dr. Leaf can be the right prescription for your self-sabotage. Her 365-day devotional is also great for ingraining healthy thinking. My only gripe is stylistic, which is petty when you think about it: She is a mediocre interviewer. The constant moaning drives me nuts.

Enriching My Life
Dear Dr. Leaf, The work you are doing and the way you are doing it is blessing me so so much! This world is one I have been exposed to sense a child. I have dyslexia and from the beginning my parents looked for help beyond the main stream. From organic foods, to brain exercises and homeschooling. Now as an adult I am soaking up the knowledge you are sharing, learning much, growing, and expanding. When my mom and I read your newest book “Switch in Your Brain” we were both in tears multiple times through out the book. Your chapter in Prayer blew my mind and was just the word I needed at that time. It was like I had known this all along but it was mystical. Then to really hear how God has written prayer into the fabric of the world took my breath away. (I quoted this chapter talk I gave on prayer in September) Also the importance you gave to developing ones imagination. My imagination has been a refuge my whole life. As I child I was mostly in my own world, and everything was enchanted by it. As an adult I still love to spend time in my imagination, just sitting gazing out the window. But the world really doesn’t understand the depth and importance of this. So I just want to thank you for writing about this subject. I was ministered to beyond words! Warmly, Cassia

Let all that you do be done in Love !
The positive effect in my life of Dr. Caroline teaching has been a blessing. I am learning everyday to choose love over other emotions. I am thankful to God for people like her, for first time in my life I understand how my brain works, because when I am tired, stressed, annoyed or angry I turn on her teachings and help me “to think What I am thinking 🤔 I see that she Loves what she does and that makes a big difference in her Ministry. Excellent!!! Thankyou Dr. Caroline

But 3 for the cadence of the episodes. I am not sure if it’s because of the (beautiful) accent, but my mind can’t keep up with the speed of speaking plus the accent. I want to love this show but I find myself not connecting. Great topics tho!

Clear and Thorough Information that will change your life
I struggle with learning and some mental disorders and have the slight ambition to learn more about the brain and I love listening to Dr. Caroline Leaf because she genuinely makes me feel like she cares and provides information in the best way she can. Being a neuroscientist for 30 years makes me feel like I can trust her even more because shes been involved in this field during the times when mental health wasn’t as focused on. You can tell shes passionate and its blessing that she is here providing these podcasts. I feel with the information provided people would make you pay for it and its just mind boggling to me. Thank you Dr. Caroline for caring and loving the human mind and for caring enough to share this with us. I would like to make some recommendations for future topics though as I would really love to hear some about this. •Ways to help people who learn at a slower rate •What is Borderline Personality Disorder and tips to manage irritability and lack of trust (which is common for people who have it myself included) •Tips to help see the good in people and to trust more • Tips for rational perception of not liking someone and when its okay to draw the line •How to properly love toxic people •Ways to limit rumination and other toxic thinking patterns These are really hard topics for me and I apologize if its too complicated to explain these things but I believe you definitely have a much more broader understanding than me obviously. I just find myself struggling with these topics on a day to day basis and need a little more peace in my mind since I find myself ruminating on this too much. Thank you Dr. Caroline Leaf I hope and pray to take in more of your information and have it stick into my mind thoroughly.

This was amazing!
Thank you for having your daughter on here. Her story is so similar to mine and it’s so encouraging to know that depression doesn’t have to be my constant state, but that it’s like a cold that I can recover from. I’m subscribed and I can’t wait to apply these techniques. Self-care is a big one I will use.

There is so much neccesary information to know about our mental health and wellness that we just aren't aware of. I'm so grateful for Dr. Caroline Leaf and her research. Her work empowers people to take back their lives from what the devil has stolen from us by using science to prove all of God's principles. It is so encouraging, empowering, and brings hope to whatever situation you are in. I am so hopeful now that I can change, I am not a victim of my circumstances, and God has designed me perfectly to navigate through this life. Thank you Dr. Caroline Leaf!!!!

I have shared this episode with several friends and just want you to know that your practical advice is always so well timed. Can’t Wait for Dr. Leaf’s Conference!
I love listening to Dr. Leaf’s podcasts. Since I had to put my sweet mother in a nursing home due to dementia, I have become passionate about learning everything I can to improve my brain health and reduce my risk of dementia. Dr. Leaf’s podcasts and YouTube videos have taught me so much about the mind/ brain connection that I recently gave a speech at my Toastmasters club where I shared Dr. Leaf’s teachings and promoted her book, “Think, Learn, Succeed”. There was so much interest in the topic, that I am thinking of sharing it at my church and at my apartment building. Thank you for all you do, Dr. Leaf. I can’t wait to see you at your conference next month! Gratefully, Cindy Harley

Dr. Caroline Leaf’s teachings have changed my thoughts on mental health. I always felt like a victim to my thoughts and emotions. I was under the impression that I would have to get on medication to just cope with anxiety and depression. I also would highly recommend Joyce Meyer’s teachings on the mind, and Be in Health with Dr. Henry Wright. All three of these ministries have changed my life. I am no longer a victim, but I have the tools and resources I need to overcome.

Not everyone is a believer
Dr. Caroline leaf interviews many new agers who believes in the law of attraction and manifestation. Be careful who you listen to as they have picked up doctrines of devils. I enjoy listening to Dr.Leafs YouTube videos where she’s more open about scripture and science. It seems like she watering down her message to please man.

Great Information but Poor Quality
Dr. Leaf is passionate about helping people improve their mental health and provides great information to help them on their journey. Unfortunately the podcast is difficult to listen to due to its quality. The edits are really choppy and the whole audio sounds like it has been sped up. Maybe Dr. Leaf just talks very rapidly, but whatever the reason, slowing down a little and cleaning up the edits would make this a great podcast.

Balance
Dr Leaf, my husband and I are pastors and one phrase he uses a lot when counseling for those seeking deliverance is “you can’t cast out flesh”. We see so many in the church at large who are at two ends of the spectrum: those who do not believe in the supernatural and those who “look for a demon under every bush”. We believe fully in “Many are the afflictions of the righteous and the Lord deliverers then out of them all” but many times we are struggling with our own flesh more than anything else, especially as believers who are already given power over darkness. We don’t have to be held captive by things such as depression and anxiety. While not to dismiss believe the supernatural components, what I love most about your podcasts is how you encourage people who are struggling with difficult and challenging issues, that they can overcome. They can change their minds. To me, you bring a wonderful balance to the division of soul vs spirit.

Caring, knowledgeable advocate!
I’ve been following Dr. Leaf for years, but currently listen to or read something of hers almost daily (youtube, books, podcasts, etc). I do 21 day detoxes and have seen dramatic change in those areas. I appreciate that she is fighting so hard for mental health maintenance reform. My only concern is that for someone who joined the the traditional system (on meds/therapy) a year ago, hoping to heal and break free, I wish she didn’t create so much fear around it. I personally got very physically ill and lost the ability to speak, so I need(ed) medicinal help, but am trying to learn and use Dr. Leaf’s techniques, which I believe in, to go from surviving to thriving. The research in her books is first rate in that she picks meta-studies and explains clearly how some others have been hype or misleading. Plus, she is a strong Christian in the science community, which is outstanding. I’m grateful for her commitment and hard work!!!

Amazing Way to Learn
I love how Dr. Leaf shows the relationship between science and biblical teaching. I heard her speak for the first time about a week ago, and it changed my life. Something stirred in me that said I needed this, that things that have held me back my whole life were about to shift if I learned from her and put her teaching into practice daily. My husband and I ordered four books, and for the days I don’t manage to fit reading in, it’s so easy and worthwhile to listen to these podcasts. Everyone should hear this stuff! It is life-changing.

Fantastic
Such great information and so practical. I’m a physical therapist and we are just learning more about how the brain processes pain. The science behind our thoughts and how it affects our beliefs and behavior has become so interesting to me. I first heard about you from Pastor Steven Furtnick and then from Priscilla Shirer and knew God was leading me to check your your podcasts. I am also participating in the 21 day detox. I have been so blessed. I have seen God’s workmanship with how he has created our anatomy for exercise and movement for optimal health and healing through my profession and now I am seeing even more how much better our mind, body and spirit work through the submission of our thoughts to Him. Thank you for applying this science to biblical principles...or showing how science is catching up to God’s written word already! Have you considered writing bible studies? Maybe a weekly video with a work book combining scripture and science? That would be fantastic!! I admire your work scientifically and spiritually! Thank you!!!

Identifying the Root of Anxiety
Amazing practical steps in Dr.Leaf’s episodes. Dr. Leaf- I listened to your Identifying the Root of Anxiety episode and was able to talk myself out of an anxiety attack in 5 minutes by applying your steps when it usually takes 20-60 minutes. I was also able to identify the root of the anxiety attack by doing the final step of asking further questions and editing my written response. It was linked to an issue that happened over 20 years ago. Thank you so much for sharing these applicable steps that really work.

Simply profound and profoundly simple
I enjoyed listening to this podcast as this has been something I’ve struggled with myself. I think the information is extremely useful. I wonder if you could do something related to moving from information to action. Very often we get the information and get stuck at the point of knowing what to do and not taking steps to actually doing what we know. Moving from the theory to practically applying it. I’m not sure if it’s lack of motivation, drive, not desperate enough for change or what. Maybe you could shed some light on this for me.

Extremely helpful information
I first read “Who Switched Off My Brain” by Dr. Caroline Leaf in 2012. I had decided it was time to taper off the anti depressant I had been taking for 7 years. This book was instrumental in helping with my understanding of what negative thoughts do to the brain and body as well as how to deal with those negative thoughts. I am so thankful for this podcast. I listen weekly and am encouraged and changed by the information provided. It’s clearly communicated and based on research. Well worth the time.

We have needed this level of conversation on creation that we didn’t realize how starved we were. Thank you Dr. Leaf. Can you have a talk about addiction to pornography and the identity issue that arises from this addiction? Thank you for all you do.

Wonderful
Dr. Leaf, my sister introduced me to your book Think, Learn, Succeed and since then I have been hooked. What you do is so necessary. I absolutely LOVE the 21 day detox and have since purchased 3 more of your books. You work is a blessing and the podcasts help to reinforce what I have and am learning in the books. Thank you!

Thankful
It is nice to see someone, with a high level of education, recognize how everyone in America has a mental disorder, and it’s not true. I love that she gives direction for healing from where you are stuck instead of telling you how to suffer with your diagnosis. I don’t understand anyone that doesn’t love the hope and healing she provides!

Healthy
My word for this year is healthy. Healthy relationships, healthy mental processes, Healthy spirituality; being healthy in all aspects of my life. The first time I heard Dr. Leaf was in an interview with Pastor Steven Furtick. My mind was literally blown. The confidence and understanding she humbly spoke with opened my mind. She also put words to a lot of thoughts that I’ve had and answered questions that I did not realized I had. Dr. Leaf is phenomenal. I plan on listening to all 70 of her podcasts, subscribing to her news letter and even buying her new book. Thank you Dr. Leaf for helping me live healthier.

Real Answers to Mental Health!
Dr. Leaf with her research and results is proving the science behind neuroplasticity. It’s so encouraging to know we are not victims to toxic thinking or mental ill health of all kinds, but can renew our minds quite literally and develop new, healthy thinking habits to contribute to a happy, healthy life.

Such a God-given Paradigm Shift!
Dr. Leaf has beautiful knowledge to share in a compassionate tone! She has over 3 decades of knowledge to share that is such a gift for anyone who listens. I have battled “mental illness” for 20 years and was thrown into the psychiatric system when I was a young high-school girl fighting for my sanity. At my worst, I was on at least 7 different psychotropic medications to “cope” with daily life. Over the past 2 years I have been on a healing journey to find holistic and alternative solutions to get to the root of my symptoms and become the wife, mother, friend and individual God has called me to be in this world. Dr. Leaf’s work is validating, empowering, inspiring, and practical that will make all the difference in your life! Thank you for your courageous calling Dr. Leaf, keep spreading this valuable message!💕

Dangerous advice
My takeaway is that she seems to think anxiety and depression are thinks that are over-diagnosed, and that the meds for these conditions are dangerous. It sounds like she is seriously uninformed about the science behind psychiatry. I notice she only puts that she is Dr. Is she a chiropractor or something instead of a PhD, PsyD, Psy, other professionally credentialed mental health worker. Crystals, natural healing, positive thinking, breath work and woo aren’t going to be enough for those suffering from major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, or serious anxiety. I’m guessing this “doctor” doesn’t have much of a clue about what a patient with lifelong, deep issues with these diagnoses really experiences.

My hero
I’m studying psychology in college and graduate in one semester. I want to stand on the shoulders of giants such as Caroline Leaf and take the groundbreaking concepts of neuroplasticity and neurogenesis and be part of the front lines of it all. We are on the brink of a scientific cultural revolution between what society says and what science is finding to be true (and how the Word of God backs that up). I love listening to her and want to be part of the change.

Educational and empowering!
Dr Leaf is full of knowledge and humility. Which is a rare combo to find! She is always explaining thoughts/mindsets/health in a simple way and then explaining how we are capable of changing anything in our brain. It is important for us all to be aware of the power of thoughts and how the brain works.

Grateful
Dr. Leaf, I thank God for you. Finally, through your work I am able to understand a lot about how things played out in my life - the strongholds and their roots. In recent months the Lord has been bringing things to my awareness, I thought about them, reflected on them and had ah ha moments about them. I saw the 21 Day Brain Detox being promoted, I took the “plunge” and subscribed. I am currently on that 21 Day journey, and it has confirmed and revealed even more to me of what the Lord had been sharing with me in the past year. I have all your books now, and currently reading “Who Switched Off My Brain” I started reading it earlier last year and a few pages in I was wowed - I have picked up the book again to finish it, and get started on your other books. I just want to say THANK YOU for your work and ministry. It is certainly making a remarkable impact on my life. And I am SO happy to see you now have a Podcast, yay! May the Spirit of the Living God continue to guide you and bless the work of your hands.

- Podcast 453: Is there a cure for intrusive thoughts?Download my new and improved brain detox app here: https://neurocycle.app SHOW DESCRIPTION: In this podcast I talk about intrusive thoughts, and how to manage them using what I call “thinker moments”. Intrusive thinking is can be defined as uncontrollable, unwanted thoughts that we feel unable to resist. This kind of thinking is often a way of coping with an underlying, unresolved issue. It’s not always the most effective or sustainable way to deal with pain or trauma, but it’s a coping mechanism—a type of distraction you use to try to keep the source of your pain bearable, at least in the short term. Thankfully we were safe in the studio, and no significant weather-related damage occurred where our offices are located! In this podcast I talk about something that I battle with: “if only/should have/could have” thinking, and how I manage my mind to overcome this negative mental spiral. If we are constantly trapped in a web of “if only/I can’t/could have/would have/should have”, this kind of thinking can quickly become a toxic mindset that changes our perspective—the way we see and respond to the world. I know, I have been there many times! This is really something I have struggled with my whole life. Regrets and ruminations can really catch you in their snare and keep you stuck in a negative thought spiral, which, in turn, can impact your mental wellbeing. - Podcast 442: The #1 mindset you need to develop to end your year well, and prepare for the new yearDownload my new and improved brain detox app here: https://neurocycle.app SHOW DESCRIPTION: In this podcast I talk about one of the best ways to improve your mental health and resilience: a possibilities mindset! First, it is important to understand what a mindset is. It is how we view the world —it generates our perspective, which shapes the way we interact with our environment, that is the choices we make as we respond to what happens to us, and as we choose what to think, say and do. Why are mindsets so important? Mindsets direct our perceptions and subsequent actions. When we understand HOW our mind works and how mindsets are formed, we can direct our mind where we want it to go, what structures we want it to build in our brain, and ultimately choose how we want our life to look. Mindsets teach us how to shape our life stories. - Podcast 440: Shutting Down the Shame SpiralDownload my new and improved brain detox app here: https://neurocycle.app SHOW DESCRIPTION: n this podcast I talk about several helpful ways to get out of a shame spiral. In our society today, it can be hard to feel any degree of self-worth. We are bombarded with the shame of not living up to our own expectations, or the expectations of others. We cannot live up to the photoshopped and retouched images that seem to tell us that to be happy, we must look, dress or act in a certain way, or get straight As and go to an Ivy League university. We are not able to compete with celebrities and influencers—we are just one social media ‘like’ in a sea of admirers, wishing to be someone or do something. It is easy to give in to these voices, listen to them and allow them to take root inside our heads. It is easy to fall into a “shame spiral,” feeling like you will never be able to live up to what society deems as worthy. How can we escape this spiral? How can we quit the system and be happy being who we really are at our core? How can we learn to be comfortable with who we are and where we are in life?
