Okay this is really too crazy for me right now. I’m not sure if you’ll post this because it’s a review a left for the Goal Digger Podcast but I hope you do still because it’s just as much about this one! Barbara’s podcast, Business Unusual was the first podcast I ever listened to because I’m a huge fan of Shark Tank (in fact my business is named after the show). Fast forward a year later and I have about 10 different podcasts that I listen to and Goal Digger is by far the one I obsess over and binge the most. I just had a breakthrough in my own life and entrepreneurial career over the weekend where I got on IG live for the first time EVER I was shaking and said the word “like” way too many times, but I faced the fear that was standing in my way. Not only did I get on camera but I told my “competitor” head on that I love her work and that I’m not going to let her success hold me back from moving forward with mine anymore. I told her I can’t wait to collaborate together one day. It was the most empowering thing I have ever done and that’s why I wanted to go live and tell the world because I didn’t want to lose that feeling for a second and I refused to turn back to my insecure ways. I feel more confident now than ever and ready for my next step. Plus, guess what? That competitor of mine is now a friend and we are even chatting about which courses we could potentially take together. Anyway the part that I literally haven’t told a soul about is this: Since I was in a bold mood that day, the last thing I did was call up Barbara’s podcast hotline and left a message. I started by saying that I actually didn’t have a question for her, I was just letting her know I’m here. I have arrived. Nothing is holding me back anymore. I told her that it was my dream to have a podcast of my own one day and I can’t wait to have her on it. And if she wants to save us both time and have me on hers we can just skip the waiting and have an amazing chat. I know Barbara is a bold woman and appreciates an entrepreneur who knows what she wants. Part of the reason I even had a break through this weekend was because of the Goal Digger podcast and Jenna’s heavenly words of wisdom, and the fact that the same weekend I had these major breakthroughs now this podcast of Jenna & Barb is being released I just feel like it’s a sign. I can’t wait to listen to two of my favorite mentors of all time talk together and I didn’t even want to press play before I shared this. Thank you both so much I admire you both more than you know and I can’t wait to meet both of you one day. Keep an eye out for the short little blonde teacher-shark. 😊

Awesome podcast, would love new content
I love Barbara’s no-nonsense advice. As a marketer myself, hearing her PR-minded ideas on how to build a brand is awesome. It helps you to think outside of the box, in simple catchy ways. I really like the interviews she does, for example with Mr Wonderful and with the owners of Grace & Lace. Some of her stories are repeated in different podcasts, so it would be helpful to hear different ones. That is my only gripe though - I love her podcast!

Loving This - Wish Episodes Were a Little Longer
These insightful episodes have really helped to drive a healthy, career-focused self-assessment, very solid advice and Barbara knows when to tell you what to do and when to tell you she’s discussing a situation that doesn’t have a defined path to success. While the short length makes these great to kickstart conversations, I do wish they could be 15-20 minutes, rather than 8 (with 3 being credits). Overall, very, very good.

I really admire and respect Barbara Corcoran for her business savvy, the way she carries herself on Shark Tank and above all her integrity in all aspects of her life. I love that these are short episodes, good counter programming to the longer entrepreneur-related podcasts out there. I like the format of having a topic up top and then answering listener questions in the second half, but I wish the topic up top had more time, just a minute or two longer at most. Right now it feels a little rushed.

I’m grateful to hear from someone as successful as you are that it’s ok to make mistakes on your way to success. I’ve learned to embrace that since developing my invention. I love how you composed yourself back to avenues of bigger endeavors by the ignorant remarks of others and failures from chances you took. It just clicked for me listening to you that it’s a lot like the martial arts I do. You are using your opponents weight towards your advantage. Inspirational
I too once lived in New York. I had a 3 month old and just arrived back to the states after being away for 3 years. Originally from Detroit I had moved to Europe with my parents after graduation. Listening to how you got started gave me goose bumps. I know how determined you must have been. New York is just such an overwhelming city. Our stories have some similarities. I ended up moving back to Michigan after my in laws that we lived with in Manhattan had an argument and I found myself homeless. After coming to Michigan I spent 30 days sleeping on the floor of our new apartment in Wixom. Those 30 days gave me my determination that made me who I am today. It will be an honor to listen to your podcasts.

Insightful, Hillarious and inspiring
You have given the audience your secret sauce! I believe in sharing knowledge in order to build and evolve for prosperation. The videos are short and sweet. I think to obtain more viewers it would be interesting to see whether or not you can sell them to gas stations that play short ads for people who are pumping gas. It would be nice if they played something insightful like your podcast.

“Real” ness
Barbara, The best part of this podcast is.. your “realness”. I fail and succeed about 3x a week. Small or big successes.. small or big failures. When this happened I’m either elated.. or mad at the world. The elated part lasts a long time, but the mad part is so fierce and heart wrenching that I had to train myself to feel the feeling at that moment, and move on if I want my business to move on. It seems when we are at the lowest of the low, is when something amazing happens. My business partner and I are great support systems for each other and that has been a great help. When one is up.. we lift each other up. When one is down.. the other lifts them out of their funk and back to business! Having a good support system at home is very important as well. In regards to handshakes, I am about 4’ 9”. Why does that matter? Because I put all I have into my hand shakes. Passion, eagerness, loyalty, and a “want” to continue to speak to me. I can tell a lot by someone’s handshake. It’s like a first impression! So happy to listen to your podcasts! We blast this in our little office every week! Thank you!!! Best podcast ever
Starting a small business has been scary but Barbara's advice is so valuable. One podcast in particular stuck out that discussed how if you aren't a salesperson you never will be so find someone who is to join your team. She is so right! I finally stopped feeling bad about myself for not being able to "sell" my product and recognized that I am the creativity and brains behind it.

Her first sentence inspired me...
She said “If you’re going to build something from nothing, you’ve got to know what really works.” Then the next sentence gave me hope for my business. I didn’t know she started her $5 BILLION dollar company with just $1,000. I was very inspired. It made me want to listen to more of her podcasts. So I subscribed. Reinventing Myself!
I enjoy how personal Barbara gets on her podcast. Hearing her story and what she did to build herself back up is inspiring. I don’t have a business, but I do work in sales and her advice is definitely helpful in the sales world. One thing she said that stood out to me in the first episode was you have to be patient. The last couple months haven’t been the easiest for me and I feel like I was starting to lose patience waiting on closes. In sales, you definitely have to be patient. One day you can close a handful of sales, the next you may not close anything. Always have to keep pushing to succeed. I took what she said and “reinvented myself” by changing the way I approached my prospects. So far since the start of this month, I’ve closed something almost everyday. Thanks for your podcast Barb! It’s been quite helpful so far and I look forward to what you’re going to say next!

There’s a lot of podcasts aimed at entrepreneurs, and specifically female entrepreneurs. This podcast cuts through the noise. What you hear from Barbara is drawn from decades of experience, not just recycled anecdotes that any entertainer can throw out for discussion. Listening to her on Shark Tank, you kind of get a feel for what she will deliver on the podcast, which is a unique perspective that comes from experience, not observation. I’ve had great mentors, CEOs of large and successful companies, but haven’t had the opportunity to learn from a woman in business with this much experience. Love Barbara! But Rest of Podcast??
Barbara is one of my entrepreneurial heroes and I’m so glad she has podcast. However, aside from her own content, this very short podcast is filled with ads and thanks to the producers. As a listener, do I care who did the mixing of the audio? No. That is “business unusual” for most podcasts. Hope she’ll expand her podcasting efforts going forward.

Would luv to have 15 minutes to talk to Barbara! Love that you are so down to earth! My favorite thing about you! I think you just answered the million dollar question to work/life balance. You say there is no such thing, yet you solved that problem! Giving 110% to both at their own separate time, is the answer.
