Well played you classy gentlemen
Came across this when voting for best podcast was up on the BGG votey thingy last year. I had not listened yet and thought the name was questionable so didn't vote for this, boy was I wrong! Every other board gaming podcast (even the good ones are fourth best to this one as it occupies the top three spots, one per host). I spend my days on the road at the moment and have gotten throught the most recent 20 episodes and first 77, I can't stop listening, it's just too good. Orange tank Neilan, international man of mystery. Red tank Kellen, the voice of the people. And, green tank Mark, guy who lives in a gym? All of these hosts are killin it, the humor, cross talk, reviews, hhhhhhot questions, special appearances by blue tank and other guests are so on point, I can't recommend this highly enough. Although I find myself agreeing with all three of their lists and tastes to some extent, if I have to vote, and I feel like they'd want me to. I'm going Green tank (Insert Kellen expletive here).

Three great hosts brought down by one
I started listening to this podcast at the recommendation of SUSD. Mark, Neilan, and Christina are fantastic hosts. However, Kellen’s arrogance and constant berating of his co-hosts really brings down this podcast. The difficult part is I actually enjoy Kellen’s discussions about board games, but constantly putting down the other hosts gets old very quickly.

Halfway and can’t stop
This podcast is something I checked out after the birth of my second child looking for a new board game podcast. I started listening to episode 1 two months ago and cant’t stop. The banter and discussions between the three hosts and regular guest the blue tank, will sometimes just make me laugh out loud! My board game tastes don’t fully align with this group but I can’t wait to learn one of each of your favorite games in the future!! Keep up the great work! Oh and the orange tank is best tank, not just by color of tank, but also based on how some of our taste in games align!!

The most genuine
Board Game Barrage has quickly become one of my new favorite podcasts. Their banter is some of the most genuine in the business. The Kellen’s sarcasm and dry humor is second to none, Neilans kindness and likability warms the heart, Christina’s charisma and laughing fits make it impossible to not laugh along and Marks game knowledge and insightful critiques keep me interested. If I had to pick one thing that keeps me coming back though it would definitely be the swearing. No joke it is so refreshing, to hear people swearing and just being normal people like me and my friends. In a community that seems tip toe around offensive behavior such as swearing and even being negative about games they stand above it all by just being genuine and by being themselves.

Great podcast that’s fallen into a rut
Great game podcast that really stood out a few years ago, but these days I end up wishing I’d skipped about half of each episode. They used to be 5 stars for me, but lately they have fallen into a rut with this battle of games “fire away” filler bit they do that for some reason is now more than 50% of most episodes. With this latest episode, Bob the Beauty, for example they take two random games and pretend to compare them for “beauty”, tournament style, but really they each just pick whichever game they like better while giggling at eachother like middle school kids. This segment clearly is a joke, which is fine, but instead of 10 minutes every once in a while it’s taken over most episodes and I always come away wishing I’d just skipped that part.

2-4 hosts, playtime 45-75 min
Tired of Brits waxing poetic about Concordia? Worn down by Canadians and their love of dexterity and cosmic amphibians? Look no further than this entertaining blend of 2-4 hosts who secretly love each other while competing for the top honor of best player…or at the very least not letting Neilan win.

Superlative board game podcast - fun, engaging, thoughtful
This podcast brilliantly balances a fun conversation between friends with a well-structured, well-edited show about the games the hosts have been playing and other topics around the hobby. There's banter and life to it but also clear and honest mini-reviews and impressions. It helps that the hosts also have a variety of preferences for different types of hobby games and different proclivities for how they approach playing.

Love this Podcast
I listen to about 10 game board podcasts and this one is my favorite. I love the banter and chemistry among the hosts and the diverse opinions. They cover new games and classics. I always love hearing what games the hosts played between podcasts. Keep it going!

Verbal abuse isn’t right
Love the podcast, but there are times when name calling and degrading is had in the show, to an extent that’s not comfortable for me. Even if it’s supposed to be funny, over time this type of abuse sinks in and starts to mold your self-perception. You begin to believe the words that are said about you. It needs to stop. Be kind in other ways.

Best podcast out there
Every week I look forward to listening to these guys. They are not afraid of telling us what game they don't like. Rare these days and really appreciated! While I don't like many of the games they like, it's always good to hear what they have to say. For example, Biblios as the best game of all times??? Come on, guys! It shouldn't be allowed! Other than that, they are awesome!

Can a podcast be a perfect 10?
BGB comes pretty darn close! I listen to a fair amount of board game podcasts but I get giddy when Thursday comes around and I can listen to these tanks pontificate about board games for an hour and change. Is the banter witty? Eh. Do they say “sure sure” and “but, buuut” too much? Sure. But what I love most about them is their clear love for each other. It truly is endearing and infectious like a warm cup of cocoa. All you Kellen haters need take a step back. He makes the show. No he’s not my favorite tank (that goes to Tom Brewster). So shut up and sit down and listen. iTunes only let’s me give 5 stars, but if I could give 10 stars I would still only give 8.63 stars.

Big Meeple??
Don’t trust these guys, they’re clearly funded by big meeple. Isn’t it weird they keep pushing their favorite publisher (boardgametables.com) that isn’t even a publisher?? It’s a WEBSITE. Yeah, we see through your thin facade. The DEMOCRATIC tabletop community isn’t having it. You can’t control our preferences.

Too much stanky snark
I’ve tried on several occasions to like this show but the constant snark and denigrating comments by the nasally voiced one keeps pushing me away. It’s okay for other people to like things, man. Lay off.

300th iTunes Review: In Short, It’s Great
Kellen, Neilan, Mark, and occasionally Christina (too occasionally), are the best kind of board game enthusiasts. They’re the kind that can talk cogently, entertainingly, and clearly about their opinions on games. The format of talking about three recent games and then a thematic subject works wonders for pacing, and the show is a breezy delightful hour (though I treasure the moments I look at my feed and see an extra long episode). I struggled a little bit with whether to fill this small review with in-jokes (perhaps a reference to how much I love episode 139—though that would be disingenuous, the best episodes all have four hosts, not three, and the red tank is beloved), but I wanted instead to say something sincere. The board game hobby has smart voices, enthusiastic voices, welcoming voices, and more. But they don’t have anyone as suffuse with pure joy as the Board Game Barrage folks. After listening to their back catalogue (some of it while unemployed and depressed), they feel like friends—friend who are knowledgable about boardgames, so the best kind of friends.

Hands-down the best!
Undoubtedly the best board game podcast out there! Perfect balance of humorous banter, insightful reviews, and heartfelt friendship. Inspires me to be a better man. I mean gamer. Their latest episode was the best one they’ve had in a long while - 212 Hope you guys continue the podcast for years to come! Seriously cannot imagine having to drive to work without the sweet sounds of the tanks in my ears.

Brilliant Podcast
An amazing podcast about board games the three tanks + the intern (aka blue tank) are amazing. The bickering, inside jokes, and exchanges are an amazing dynamic and they maintain an amazing and engaging dynamic that allows you to feel immersed in the conversation. I found this podcast after I moved across country and I no longer have a board game group to play non-solo versions of games. Although I am hoping to make new friends in my new city, this podcast allows me to have an outlet into the hobby!

Wait, are we friends?
I don’t typically write reviews ever, but I feel like this one is warranted. Not gonna lie, I definitely boarded this train pretty late… I was introduced to BGB through hearing about them via SUSD, so my curiosity peaked, and I started listening. I don’t particularly share their opinion in regards to most of the games they review, but their banter is so incredibly hilarious that it doesn’t even matter. I will say though, that their opinions on board games have kept me more openminded to games I wouldn’t particularly gravitate towards, which definitely deserves merit. They share their experiences in such a way that really makes you feel like you’re lifetime friends. Definitely going to keep listening!

Honest and Trustworthy Review
Everyone on this podcast is great that isn’t named Kellen. Kellen is so rude to Mark and Neilan that it’s amazing to me that they invite him back every week. With friends like Kellen, who needs enemies? I do enjoy their banter, but often Kellen takes it a bit too far. Besides Kellen, I do enjoy everything else about the podcast and their insight on games that may or may not be worth playing.

Despite playing a LOT of board games, I don’t really find myself listening to any board game podcasts. Or at least, I didn’t, before I randomly stumbled upon this one! One of the best board game podcasts
BGB is hands down my second favorite podcast (SVWAG still reigns supreme). I love the banter and different opinions represented by Kalen, Mark, and Neilan. These guys all have insightful comments on the games they’ve played. The best part is they often disagree and although they do rag on my favorite tank a bit too much (team red tank), they are always respectful to one another and you can tell they value each other’s opinions. Also, it’s just neat to see someone from the Bronx on a board gaming podcast. -Gus

The best way to start your Thursdays (and every other day ending in Y)
BGB and the quartet behind it have given me my favorite reason to look forward to Thursday mornings! The show's casual but directed structure makes for great discussion on board games (new and old) and the questions and themes that span genres and life as a board gamer. Each of the four hosts are affable and express their likes and dislikes in a way that makes it easy to understand and relate to. Whether you like games where you can see your enemies' armies fall before you, don't care if you're losing as long as you're laughing, or just really like monks, you'll find valuable, friendly voices within the BGB crew. I'm looking forward to listening for years to come!

Top Tier Gaming Podcast
Do you like board games? Do you like banter? Do you like Biblios? If you answered “yes” to any of the above then you shouldn’t hesitate to dive headfirst into the BGB podcast. After listening to dozens of episodes and getting to know the hosts’ different personalities it feels less like a sterile discussion and more like a cozy evening in with friends. Highly recommended! After all, Shut up and Sit Down only drops one podcast a week so what else are you going to do to fill the quiet void while you punch out tokens? -SW

Enjoyable
Fairly solid podcast. Not quite on the level of something like Heavy Cardboard or SU&SD but that’s a tall order. Sometimes a little too chatty and too much with the inside jokes, which isn’t fun to listen to when you’re 100% an outsider. I had to drop a full star for the intro/outro music. It is the worst I’ve ever heard on a podcast. I’d give it 4 if they dropped it.

Just the Best
BGB is truly the funniest and most engaging podcast I’ve ever listened to in my life. They assemble, they assimilate, they trudge but don’t judge, they bask, they bosk, they cram and slam, they banter, they are excellent. Maybe that boating/cruise story from episode 74 made me very sad and I hope everything is ok. I’m a social worker and would love to help. Great Podcast!

Great conversation and laughs
I had found this podcast a few months before the pandemic and had begun to binge all their episodes because of their witty repartee, the fabulous but sadly just occasional addition of the blue tank Christina and their well thought out approach to discussing tabletop games. I never posted a review, however, and just got back into binging their episodes when I was moved by their willingness to acknowledge the Black Lives Matter movement at the end of episode 124. A couple of days after Juneteenth became a federal holiday, I felt moved to acknowledge their willingness to see the world beyond themselves and to speak to current events in America. Thank you for your podcast and thank you for your courage to speak up and not be afraid of any potential consequences. I’ll be signing up for the discord ASAP because these three (no four!) podcasters exhibit the kind of inclusive experience I wish to experience regularly.

Laughing Out Loud
I got started by listening to their top 50 games. I was literally laughing out loud. I hated getting to work cause I had to stop listening (and cause I work at a dentist office so everyday I hear how much people hate the dentist). I felt an instant connection and want to be game night buddies. I especially loved Christina and her affinity for laughing - always made me giggle. My favorite moment was when they acknowledged enjoying games designed by a person who may not be the greatest individual, and they stated they are still trying to decide how to handle that as far as recommending those games. WAY better response than the classic “cancel culture” everyone else is showing. 5 stars for BGB.

Critical Where it Counts
BOARD GAME BARRAGE has steadily grown on me over almost two years; and where once I scoffed at the possibility of providing good discussions once a week, I am humbled by the team's dedication to criticism, honesty, and even brevity. I appreciate the passion on display and even the bits of grandstanding and rancor, but ultimately the tanks' relationships with each other are always the reason to return. Finally, BGB also avoids some of the treacly, mealy stuff that starts to seep in when pods take on sponsors, thank the gods! A great show! ....perhaps it's time for a new theme song, though?

A FEAST of INNOVATIVE, BIBLIO-tastic Board Game Talk!!
This show is so good that they had to offer me the chance to win a free game to leave a review!! But in all seriousness, this show is REALLY REALLY good!! All of the hosts bring a certain special energy to the show, and each episode is a joy to listen to!! The topics range from serious to silly, and I am happy to report that the games they recommend are fun to play (Innovation being the best one so far, sorry Mark and Neilan)!! No one has ever asked me for a board game podcast recommendation, but when they do, this will be the first one I’ll tell them about!! Keep up the good work, y’all!! And happy birthday, Mark!! :)

I look forward to new episodes every Thursday! This show has a good balance of opinions and humor. I enjoy the thought provoking discussion topics and top ten (or 50) lists over other podcasts that talk about one or two games each episode. The topics generally get me thinking about and analyzing my own board game collection. The best episodes feature all four of the Tanks! We’ve gotten several great recommendations of games to try and now have a big Biblios fan and a big Innovation fan in our household.

Balm for my Gamer's Soul
I started at episode 140 and worked my way backward to 88 and counting. I have found the BGB crew to be a balm for my soul. Disheartened by COVID losses and public health work gaming has always been a central pleasure of my life. The Red, Green, Orange, and Blue Tanks are authentic gamers whose pure laughter in the discovery of something familiar or something new or simply in each other's company is the sound of joy. It is the laughter of playing friendship. Their true selves shines through in every episode. Start with episode 138 Life's Lessons Learned and 164 Get uncomfortable. These tanks know and love games but these two episodes show off their humanity, who they are and why they come to the table. This is a sophisticated show for gamers and an accessible show for those who want to learn why gamers game. Thanks for the weekly lift.

What a Lovely Game Group!
The BGB podcast is my favorite podcast for sampling and expanding my favorite slice of the hobby: really lovely times playing games with friends. They have a great rapport and thoughtful takes on games, and have expanded my appreciation for what makes games good. It's tight and well edited and always entertaining. Great podcast! P.S. Although, they did TWO whole episodes about "bird games", and never even mentioned Wingspan (!!?), and one of them picked a dice game about monks, and from what I can tell, there aren't even birds in it, and the game is pretty repetitive and random without much actual skill in it? Weird choice.

BGB has the best mix of banter, straight forward reviews, and interesting takes on topics related to board gaming that I have found. Creators of the best place on the internet
Look, it’s a fantastic podcast. The chemistry is great, the quality is consistently top-notch, and 166 episodes in it still feels fresh. But they also have a Discord, and that is the best place on the internet. Their good nature and care for others clearly made its way through and has cemented itself in the culture there.

This is a great podcast. Lose your Dice Tower, lose your Secret Cabal. This feels like a conversation with friends, and is far more useful than most of the other board game podcasts. The only one that might rank higher for me is So Wrong About Games.

When I want to listen to a board gaming podcast, this is the one I alwaays look for to see if there a new episode. They are up to date with upcoming games, and they don't holdback their opinions on their revies. Just enough bantter, always hilarious, and a great love to the board gaming hobby. Keep doing excellence, BGB. -Ferdinand, The Cardboard Stacker

A bummer...
I used to really, really like the show, probably my favorite of all the board-game podcasts out there. However, little by little, one of the hosts started grating on me too much to go on. He often sounds bored when one of the other hosts is talking and takes every opportunity to dunk on them and the games they want to discuss. I know they're all friends and this is probably "just his way of poking fun" but it always brought down the mood. Which is a shame, because the other two guys are fun and have great insights into the hobby. Unsubscribed.

Best Board Game Podcast for In-Depth Reviews
Great chemistry between the hosts. Great mix of backgrounds and opinions. I like that their reviews are actually supported by evidence rather than just feelings. They do a great job of explaining why they love or hate or are indifferent to specific games, while keeping an open mind on games they haven’t played yet. The hosts are funny and relatable. Highly recommend this podcast if you like board games

My favorite podcast
This quickly has become not just my favorite podcast about boardgames (of which there are a fair few), but my favorite podcast of any genre. Not only do they provide insightful discussion of games with interesting topics, but they often place games in a broader context and discuss how the hobby fits into their lives. This coupled with the playful interaction of the hosts results in a podcast that brings a little joy into my day. A must-listen.

Everyone thinks I’m weird...
So when I listen to the BGB podcast I cannot help but have a big dumb smile on my face as I listen to banter only board game nerds would understand. This is fine until I’m out in public, shopping for groceries, and everyone just sees me smiling like fool as I pick out bananas, couple this with occasional bursts of laughter at one of their jokes and I’m going to end up in the looney bin soon, let’s hope they have good board games.

BGB is one of the few podcasts that I make time to listen to weekly. The diverse range of hosts take on a diverse range of games that would satisfy board gamers of all skill and experience levels. Their recommendations seem well informed and researched and at least one of them will usually align with my personal tastes in games. Happy birthday Mark and hopefully you’ll get your 300.

Best in the biz
I’m a long time fan of SU&SD, but I have to say, this podcast is just better than theirs. The BGB crew are all excellent at conveying the mechanics and systems, but also their feelings about games. Each personality has their own unique perspective, covering a wide range of the board gaming spectrum, and it’s easy to find out who’s tastes you align with after a few listens. Also, their discord server is the cats PJs. Get on that.

Best Boardgame Podcast
I enjoy this board game podcast better than any other - to the point that it’s the only board game podcast that I listen to nowadays. They have great feature topics and, most importantly, the chemistry between the 4 co-hosts always makes for a very enjoyable listen - to the point that I have gone through the whole back catalog. Whether you’re into light, highly interactive party games or heavy, multiplayer-solitaire euros (or even playing games entirely by yourself...ahem...Neilan), there is bound to be something you enjoy here. So hit ‘subscribe’ and get ready to enter a world filled with excellent co-hosts, great content, and approximately one million references to Biblios. Thanks y’all!

The Podcast the World Needs Now
This podcast is hands down my favorite board game podcast, and dare I say, any type of podcast. The banter is genuinely funny, the hosts all bring a unique voice, and even though I sometimes disagree with their game reviews or tastes, I still enjoy hearing their takes. I finally discovered the podcast last year and it brought a lot of joy. Also, who knew the bleep button could make a podcast so much funnier (specifically see episode 165). This podcast is by far my favorite. It is filled with all the components of a great show. It helps to fill you in on all the board games you may have missed and, as you say, “the latest hotness.” In doing so, it also weaves in fun jokes and moments to keep you laughing for days. Board game barrage...I listen on my headphones walking past the trauma bays coming into work, preparing to do my part to save lives. It energizes me and makes me smile. I listen as I walk out to my car, often too late at night to drive home to see my family before their bedtime. It energizes me and makes me smile. The Tanks are fantas-tank!!!!
After listening through the entire show catalogue, I felt it necessary to leave a good review for such a great show. The way the hosts can simultaneously poke fun and have witty banter with each other while still providing incredibly insightful reviews and thoughts on each board game they cover still blows my mind. I enjoy the differing opinions they each have, and find myself with much anticipation each week for the new content to be released. Can’t wait to get to enjoy more from the tanks

“Excellent Podcast!”- Tabletop Island
I’ve been listening to the Podcast for about a year now and while I may not have the same board game tastes as each of them I find the topics enjoyable and the banter between friends hilarious! As I began listening I’ve learned to look forward to the day I can one day play Cthulhu Wars, develop a voice in my head where Mark whispers Bilblios every time I pass it at a game shop, and how to be neutral by agreeing with the winner of an argument (Niel lol jk). I’ve been going back to the older episodes and the quality of conversation remained consistent. Keep up the great work peeps!

Friends like these ...
I stumbled on Board Game Barrage because I subscribe to Archipelago on BGG. A few times in the past, I fast-forwarded to hear what they had to say about that game and others I recognized. (Their time stamps are useful for browsing.) it wasn’t until the pandemic hit that I decided to give them an honest listen, and man, I wish I had started earlier. I’m almost done with my binge — 12 episodes left. These guys are funny. They’re informative. They make me feel smarter. (Not intended as a backhanded compliment.) And their love of games is infectious. I keep waiting for the show’s Yoko Ono to screw up this mix, but her appearances are always fun and memorable. In short, I love Board Game Barrage, and you will, too. If we all had gaming friends like these guys, the world would be a happier place. Tune in today.

Really good
Hey, these guys are really enthusiastic about board games and it makes me happy. I’m a newly wed and also quarantined. My wife doesn’t enjoy playing board games (I still love her). I’m relatively new to the hobby, but it’s just nice to know that somewhere out there, people really care about the it like I do. It gives me hope. It reminds me that one day maybe, just maybe, I too will make genuine friends who enjoy sittin’ down for a good round of Biblios. Give them a listen, these guys are great.

One of the Very Best
I first found out about his podcast from a YouTube video the three hosts put out with their Top 50 games. I liked the mixture of games on their lists; not the same ole stuff. The podcast mixes just the right amount of banter and game reviews. And the banner never feels forced. It's well paced and hits the sweet spot (typically) of being less than an hour. I always come away fulfilled with learning about something new, whether about a new game or the host themselves. And they are always particular about outlining exactly why they don't like a game without being overly verbose (see So Very Wrong About Games). Why only 4 stars? Because I have the distinction of being unfollowed not only once but twice by them on Instagram though they follow 5K+ accounts! Not sure why the hate, but I am sure I will continue listening. For now.

Nothing but Respect
The Tradesmith, The Silver Tongue, and The Non-Mensa Bro a.k.a. The Deep Thinker, battle it out in a stand off of brightly colored tanks; in what will likely be known as the Golden Age of board games. Actually, it’s just a wonderful group of friends and occasional guests that discuss the board game hobby from the players perspective. Episode topics focus more on the ins and outs of what it's like to be a player in this wonderful hobby, rather than spending each episode trudging on about how many Kickstarter games they are waiting for. The podcast strikes a balance between joking around, asking h-h-h-h-h hot questions, and providing thought provoking perspectives on games and the people sitting around the table. ~A fellow non-mensa bro

Every week a new BGB podcast comes out and it makes my day that much brighter. The hosts of the show are great, incisive, and have a very unique chemistry together that even if they bounce off each other and disagree on some points, in the end they respect each other's opinions and their friendship shines through. Board game barrage isn't afraid to give their honest opinions on the games they play and it's a welcomed trait that a lot of other shows shy away from. The community they have grown in their discord is a wonderful group of board game enthusiast, with plenty of topics to read through and as a bonus they usually personally welcome all newcomers themselves! 10/10 For you anime nerds out there, if I had to assign a dere trait to each host I would think it works out like this. The only true and living podcast.
Is this the greatest board game podcast? Who could say? What I can say is that this podcast is quite excellent. It has a solid structure that feels fresh yet familiar, and they cover a good blend of games, from the new hotness to older games. What keeps me listening, though, is the strength of the three hosts. They have nicely varied tastes in games, fun personalities, and aren’t afraid to debate each other or say something negative about games they review. Seriously, their discussion about board game regrets in episode 43 was one of the deepest and soul-searching episodes I’ve ever heard in a podcast. This kind of substance is sorely lacking from more mainstream board game podcasts, but you’ll find it here in spades. I’ve gained so much from this show; Neilan’s sexy accent, Mark introducing me to Biblios AND trading, and everything Kellen has ever said (#teamredtank for life). Keep up the great work, you guys.

POKÉMON POSERS
This is my favorite podcast. I don’t listen to many podcasts, but this one keeps bringing me back. The banter between the three hosts reminds me of the relationship I have with my brother. The only problem is, while one host claims to be a Pokémon “fan” and do re-skins of games to make them into a Pokémon skin, he’s obviously missed the easiest and most brilliant conversion yet! Splendor. But. Pokémon. Spend energy (gems) to get the Pokémon (cards) and attract trainers/gym leaders (the people tiles up top). YOU POSER! Jk luv u 3 bbys. Keep it up!

Board game podcast
It’s a fine and standard board game podcast. Would prefer greater insight to the games, which is still higher than average—by comparison, BGB has deeper commentary than Secret Cabal or Heavy Cardboard, but far less insight than So Very Wrong About Games. Reading 5-star reviews live on the podcast is not my favorite and feels self-congratulatory. The hosts love to banter, and while they have great chemistry, the banter and jokes in between interest them more than they interest me. Love that they have a wide set of gaming interests and this leads to discussion on many games. They’re also willing to be critical of games, which is lacking in much board game media. A good show and one I listen to every once in a while.

Lov the podcast!!!
I discovered this podcast while looking up a random game on boardgamegeek.com and seeing if there were podcasts that talked about it. I then went on a binge fest of their podcast episodes and am at roughly episode 20 right now. Their humorous blend of different game interests, personalities and quite frankly all the good natured ribbing and debates is refreshing. They often ask each other insightful questions that I as a listener have and I love the flow and atmosphere of their friendship/podcast. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. 90 Podcasts and counting!
BGB is now my second most listened to podcast of all times because these three dudes know how to create a podcast that feels like you are in a conversation, but instead of inputting words you simply sit back and listen. I love the debates, game reccomondations, and laughs. It took me 90 episodes to pick a favorite tank because Neilan is who I'd like to hang out with most, Kellen is probably the funniest, and Mark is practical in all the right ways. My choice goes with the Green Tank, Mark, who gave me the permission to sell Chinatown for twice of what I bought it even though a couple of my friends liked it while I really didn't. That seems like a silly thing but after that I kept selling and trading games that I didn't care about in my collection instead of holding on to them because I bought them. Thanks for that! Keep on going!

An Aussie, a kidney trader, and the red tank
One out of three ain’t bad! If you can put up with the background noise of two try-hards talking, you’ll get to the gem of this podcast, the red tank’s insightful knowledge and commentary on the state of our favorite hobby, board gaming. And if you check out their great discord channel, the green tank will attempt to “flip” half of your kidney. But in all seriousness, this is an amazing podcast. It’s a great split between talking about board games the guys are playing on a weekly basis and bigger discussions regarding where the hobby is and where it’s headed. Love the show and how approachable the guys are to their fans on social platforms like Discord. I tell all my friends who like tabletop gaming to listen to this podcast, and if you haven’t subscribed to it yet, do so!

I found out about these guys via SU&SD’s podcast and thought I’d give them a try. TBH, my initial thought after the first ten minutes was, who are these schmucks and why am I even listening? But I was stuck in traffic, had an hour to kill, and wasn’t in the mood for a podcast that made me think, so I kept them on in the background. By the end of the episode I felt very certain that I might listen to them again if I was desperate for some hot board game talk and didn’t have a new episode of SU&SD. Fast forward a few months, and I have to admit, I’m hooked. They are definitely schmucks, but in the best of ways, and I love that I walk away from each episode with at least one new game to consider for my collection. This is definitely a podcast worth subscribing to.

Great podcast featuring mostly functional human beings
After seeing a shout-out to these fellows on Shut Up & Sit Down, I was driven to listen by my never-ending quest for board game podcasts where the podcasters can actually speak in a coherent fashion. I enjoy the depth and breadth of their board game knowledge, the fact that they are unabashedly opinionated about what they like and don't like, and of course, the banter and back-and-forth between these lads. Neilan plays the diplomat and peacemaker, a natural fit for this cosmpolitan fellow. I imagine Mark lives in a fort made out of board game boxes and I expect he spends the time he's not actually playing or podcasting by running tokens and dice through his fingers like Scrooge fondling gold coins. Kalen seems to have evolved as the super-competitive brother in a large and aggressive family, and I enjoy both his epic declarations ("I hate all co-ops!"), his needling of his co-hosts, and his occasional come-uppance. Anyway, whatever roles they've adopted, all three of them are articulate and funny, and the games and topics they discuss are invariably interesting. Big props to my fellow Angelenos and keep up the good work!

Really fun to listen to
This podcast is hands down the best board game podcast I’ve found. Was recommended on reddit and I got instantly hooked. I love the episode format, recapping some recently played games and then jumping into a more in depth discussion of an interesting weekly topic. I started from the beginning and am about halfway caught up. The only way this podcast could be any better is if Kellen hosted every episode. He’s so right about everything, I almost feel bad for the other hosts. <3 biblios

Board Game Barrage is truly one of those podcasts I look forward to every one of their episodes. Kellen, Neilan, and Mark are just great hosts of the show and provide an awesome listening experience. It really just feels like 3 friends are sitting down and discussing what games they played and bantering with one another about a certain gaming topic, and I love that. Not every podcast has to be super professional and serious regarding the hobby, and that’s what makes this podcast awesome. Highly recommend!

Everything I look for in a board game podcast!
Board Game Barrage very quickly became my favorite board game podcast, for the simple reason that they’ve got everything I want: 1. Entertaining hosts. All 3 tanks have their own personality and great interaction with each other. 2. Opinions that are clear and useful. I’ve listened to too many podcasts where they discuss Cool Game A for 10 minutes, and I have no idea if I would like to play it or not. After the tanks talk about a game, I’ve got a good sense on whether or not I want to get it. 3. Perfect length. I don’t need a 3 hour podcast. Give me concentrated info in under an hour. Entertaining, clear, concise, and useful. Sounds perfect.

While all the hosts have their different interests and points of view that meld to make a great podcast, clearly Neilan is the best. Orange tank for life!

These guys know their tanks
With one look at their brightly colored logo I was excited to finally find the military hardware podcast with LGBT hosts that I’d been looking for. The guys are entertaining, insightful, and two of them make an adorable couple. And they are so into modern warfare that they even refer to themselves as “tanks.” Love the show, but I find some of their thoughts a little bit baffling. They referred to the line of Endeavor battle robots as “semi-cooperative,” completely downplaying its proven track record of saving lives and its role as the backbone of so many delicate missions in the Middle East. Somehow there was a long discussion of aircraft wingspans without even mentioning the Convair B-36J ‘Peacemaker’ which had the largest ever combat vehicle wingspan at 70.1 meters and was the primary “egg-layer,” that is, nuclear weapon delivery system, until replaced by the B-52 in the 1950s. Their retro segments are great, but they were way off when they recently talked about the Great Western Trail era. Everyone knows it was the Winchester Model 1873 that tamed the west with its lever-shooting iron design that was ahead of its time. Last episode it also came up in passing that they all like board games. I don’t know anyone who plays them but you inspired me to get the old Monopoly set down from the shelf so for that I’m bumping you up to 5 stars. Thanks for the fantastic show.

Red tank for life
I would like to join the red tank army under commander Kellen. All other tanks are inferior. This is my favorite board game podcast by far. It’s too bad there isn’t three kellens available to host.

Team green tank, but fan of all
Perfect mix of personality and quality informative opinions on the board gaming hobby. Reminds me of my own tripod of friends. I love that they all have different game style preferences and even play styles. As a family man with family men as friends I don’t get to game as often as I would like, but really enjoy hearing about the latest hotness, that if is still being talked about in a year I will likely play. This podcast stirs my passion for the hobby and is very entertaining as well. Keep up the good work.

Awesome podcast
Listening through the archives has been a joy, with good discussions and valuable insights into which games might be good for which tastes. My only critique is that, inexplicably, one of the trio thinks Cosmic Encounter and Innovation are both excellent games, rather than random randomfests, but there really is no accounting for taste. Highly recommend!

The best board game podcast around!
While searching for a top 50 all-time best board game list I came across these guys, and their podcast quickly made it to my regular lineup. Going way beyond just reviewing what's new, each episode brings forth a really interesting topic concerning the hobby. Whether it's favorite party games, debating board gaming etiquette, or discussing what gives board games its optimal value, each episode brings up very good points while being succint and quite funny. I typically have a hard time focusing on someone describing the rules of a game without having it in front of me, but they do a great job in clearly presenting the basis of a game. Thanks to them, my board game collection has grown a lot based on their descriptions, and each one has been a hit at game nights. The three hosts, Kellen, Mark and Neilan, have a very natural camaraderie, but each has their own preferences in board games. Whether you're into lighter party games or Euros with as much depth and detail as possible, you're sure to align your tastes with at least one person on here. As I write this, I can already hear them arguing about who that person is. Do yourself a favor and have a listen to this podcast if you're into tabletop games. Once you're hooked, come and join the discord group and interact with the hosts and a really great community.

Really great stuff
So three weeks in to my summer job and I am 18 podcast in and loving it! I found you guys on youtube with the top 50 board games that you each choose and was just hooked from there. Each of you guys have well educated opinions and enjoyable personalities that make the podcast super fun to listen too. I feel like I am learning a lot about games, as well as myself honestly. Through hearing multiple views on not only games, but on different social circumstances as well, I walk away from each podcast with some piece of info that is interesting to ponder on. I am excited to listen to all the podcasts, thanks for making them! :)(also thanks for making me more broke than I was lol)

Board games are on my mind...kid!
I listen to more board game podcasts than I care to mention, and this is one of my faves. They always present interesting topics and balance well thought out opinions with the right amount of humor. No laughing after every other word like I hear on a few other pods. (Ugh!) These are dudes I’d love to play Biblios, Resistance, or Innovation with while sipping some BOS tea. Just do yourself a favor and subscribe. Unless you’re a hardcore Stonemaier Games fan, in which case you may find yourself cursing a certain red tank. Check out their IG account as well. Some nice images by the red tank himself.

Board Game Nootropics
I’m always drawn to podcasts that inform and educate, that survey a topic with both context and enthusiasm, and if they can manage to entertain and sneak in some humor, all the better! Board Game Barrage is that gateway game accessible to newbies but also providing depth to more experienced gamers via the wide assortment of games they cover. The triumvirate of hosts and their disparate and sometimes conflicting reviews of games and game-related topics are always a fun and enlightening listen, as I imagine myself sitting there amongst the over-stuffed kallax shelves as the Golden Girls are prattling and harping away tank vs tank vs tank... No, I take that back. They’d never over-stuff a shelf.

Love the snarky commentary
I usually use the Overcast app, but I downloaded the Apple podcasts app so I could rate this podcast and make you read it out loud. I listened to the latest episode then immediately downloaded everything from 2019. This podcast doesn’t hold back from pointing out issues and concerns with games, which is a little too rare right now in the board game space. Between that and the snarky banter, you’re quite enjoyable to listen to. This podcast will be a permanent fixture of my subscription list.

Love the Format
Like other reviewers have all written here, this podcast is amazing. The conversations between each of the hosts (co-hosts?) about games each week are funny and insightful, and the friendly trash talking actually makes me laugh aloud, sometimes in awkward situations. One thing I really have been enjoying more deeply, though, are the main subjects of each of the podcasts. Each episode there will be a question of the week or a deep dive into some mechanic or aspect of board gaming, and each time te conversation is always interesting and in-depth. I usually come away from an episode with a new perspective and deeper appreciation of the hooby. It's a really nice break from the whats-new-in-boardgaming-this-week format that many other podcasts stick to. Keep it up, guys!

#1 Boardgaming podcast
I've listened to about 15 different boardgaming podcasts and this is by far my favorite. Why?: - Kalen coined the phrase "You do you". Evidence at the end of Ep. 29 - Mark will "trade" games with grandma to make a buck. Ruthless. - Neilan, the calming presence. But, has a hard time saying a game is bad (The more critical the review, the more useful it is for me. I want reasons to not buy a game. Neilan, please trash games more). Seriously, this is 1 of only 2 podcasts I will listen to every word uttered (the other is SVWAG). Every other podcast, I'm fast fowarding to find something worth listening to.

Here’s the thing
Any podcast that loves Monopoly, Uno, Spreadsheet Games, Hero’s of Land Air and Sea, that also hates Hue Duck Mou Mou, 100 Horses, and Biblios (with it’s wonderful theme) is ........ garbage!!!! I don’t want to know what’s on their mind. Luckily Board Game Barrage is nothing like that. Great quick reviews, lots of variety, and fun friendly banter. Best board game podcast I have heard.

All stuff, No Fluff
Recently came across this podcast and couldn’t be happier. Many board game podcasts feel far too much like they are a long commercial for games, or they feel like the hosts are too jaded or cynical. The BGB team are a great balance. The length of the show is great, and they deliver new episodes I can’t wait to listen to quite often. They are most certainly the number one podcast which features a South African accent!

Too Many Good Things
What can I say about Board Game Barrage? It's a barrage of board game reviews, information, and recommendations. And along with some of the best banter I've heard on a podcast. Neilan, Mark, and Kalen all have their own style and tastes in board games which makes for excellent discussion of everything from party games to heavy Euros. I've listened through the entire series already and have started listening through it again.

Almost rated four stars.
Kalen is great on the podcast. HOWEVER, I almost had to go four stars because Kalen occasionally has to stop talking to breathe, which allows the other hosts to jump into the conversation. Hopefully, Kalen learns to practice circular breathing soon so I can get his insightful opinions straight into my ear holes, without the background noise.

This is a fantastic podcast. I always have a smile on my face as the hosts banter and pick on each other about game preferences and tastes. At the core BGB is like sitting around a board game table with your friends, joking and chatting about games. Definitely worth a listen

Gloomhaven! Gloomhaven! Gloomhaven!
I’m not sure where my life went, but I just finished listing to all 61 episodes over the past month because of being off from work from disability, this podcast helped accompany me as emotional support in my return to work. Time has flown by, and it’s hard to believe I’m all caught up and now have to wait each week to hear this podcast again. All 3 of them feel like I’m personally part of their group, as close friends, knowing all their inside jokes, likes and dislikes from B.T.B. to vocabulary lessons. They focus on just a few games each week and return to their favorites so the listener gets more in depth flavor of each game and what it works for them or not and has prevented me from falling into the cult of the new as Mark recommends waiting at least a year before deciding to buy a new game because it will be either cheaper, tradable or will come to find it won’t last the test of time because of Kalen’s Law. Anyway, the only knock I have about this trio podcast is that it’s only composed of two thirds Mensa members so I think this podcast deserves 9 out of 10, because 9 is close to 10. “Yeah, that’s fair,“ says Neilan.

Flawed Hosts, Great Podcast!
First the (tongue firmly in cheek) bad: one host speaks English but not American — Missile is a two syllable word not 3, and it is pronounced pod cast, not pod cost. The second host hates co-ops and has a tendency to up talk at the end of his sentences, which is common among co-op haters. I don’t have much bad to say about the third host except that he has no emotional attachment to games and will flip them like an HGTV host on steroids. But seriously, these 3 have great chemistry, are concise, and entertaining. Great podcast!

An Unparalleled Display of Knowledge and Humor
The definition of board game podcast competence and enjoyment, Board Game Barrage puts out some of the tightest, yet most comprehensive content about the hobby of board gaming. Two of its hosts show complete mastery of their craft, from regaling their audience with mesmerizing personal anecdotes to sharing their hard-hitting opinions on games in a journalistic market saturated with patronizing mediocrity. I would joyously listen to two of the hosts on any given evening, curled up with a glass of merlot and a solo campaign of Gloomhaven. I trust recommendations, without fail, from these two, gregarious hosts. I can not recommend this podcast enough to anyone who considers themselves a board game aficionado, as two of its three hosts are defining voices in what is largely consider the Golden Age of gaming.

Great board game podcast
Engaging hosts with a decent diversity of tastes, always clocks in at under an hour, discussion topics are interesting. Easy to jump in without *too* many inside jokes (just know Mark loves Biblios, possibly lives in a gym, and trades games for a living, the rest should fall into place). Fun podcast, look forward to seeing it in my playlist every week.

If you like board games, you've come to the right place
What I sought in a board game podcast was an intersection between board gaming and the rest of life—something meditative. Voila! This trio is among the best at delimiting the mechanics of a game and expressing how design choices add to or subtract from an experience. They manage to be both respectful and polite while still being entertainingly opinionated and dismissive (e.g. Viticulture, which I love, but which I also love as a target of snarky jokes). They maintain focus and make liberal use of post-editing cuts (you can hear it in the jumps of voice pitch), a habit I very much appreciate. In their topics they are always cogent and incisive. A conversation about gateway games led them to ask whether one SHOULD convert others, which no one has ever bothered about. Discussions about collections led to deeper thoughts on materialism, compulsion, and guilt. Brilliant! I hope they can continue coming up with good questions; it can't be easy. Minor quibbles: they tend to return to the same games often, and sometimes the ribbing teeters from fun to tiresome. But I'm just searching for cons here; I give the show an unreserved recommendation. Thanks for the solid work! I'll be listening from right down the road in Orange County. Sincerely, "Thank God I'm not the Doctor" Phil p.s. really do check out Heart Society. They're bitchin' p.p.s. though I'm a fellow wolverine hater in California and a Michigan State grad who's been bred to always go green, my vote is Red Tank for spearheading the show and drying out the humor

Balance is on point
I've got a bunch of board game podcasts piling up in my "unlistened" queue as I binge on the board game barrage back catalog. The hosts have a nice chemistry and appear to possess significant board game experience. They consistently maintain a compelling balance of anecdote and analysis while avoiding fanboy hyperbole and grognard obsessiveness. There are a couple of things that threaten to get annoying, but it could be because I've listened to so many successive episodes. The whole "Vote for Team Mark/Neilan/Kalen" bit is not very interesting to me and some of the callbacks (i.e. "Biblios, the best game evar") seem like lazy, insider jokes designed to make listeners feel like their part of the BGB club. Not necessary IMO, the content is the real draw.

Informal reviews with great contrast and flow.
More than any other game podcast, this one is about discussing what makes games great. There is no wasting time talking about game rules or the latest, hottest games, or the hosts' personal lives. There is no hype around the formality of their reviews. Just buckle in and enjoy the good contrast and flow among the 3 hosts as they challenge and tease each other about why they like the games that they do.
