I miss Stecco banter but Great podcast
I was a listener from around 2016-2019. While I appreciate what Flora has continued to do solo, I do miss me the Flora/Stecco banter from the early days. Great podcast overall!!!

I Am Very Glad, as I'm Finally Returning Back Home
A great podcast, captivating topics beautifully narrated. I remember not being 100% convinced when Flora took over by himself after Stecco left, but he turned around this podcast beautifully. Revisiting the early episodes lately, I still like them, but it's a much better podcast now. I'm looking forward to Miss Cryptid every year.

All over the place
Listened to about four pods hoping to hear some cool paranormal stuff, but this podcast is *sigh* like most others of the genre where it’s just all over the place, and I couldn’t tell what was serious, what was a joke or why the hosts seemed more into their banter than getting into something. When they actually get into exploring some topics it’s great discussion, but some pods are more storytelling which was weird and hard to figure out which pods may be interesting to me.

I absolutely LOVE this podcast. If you want great views on a myriad of different crazy subjects with an excellent cast of people, this is the one! I particularly enjoy the episodes about space and exploration! However, a star is lost due to the utterly unpalatable political episodes : /

Better with both hosts
I don’t even listen to the newer episodes. The Dave that’s left is a little to dry alone. And all the reviewers complaining about the older episodes humor seem like the kind of d-bags that take this stuff way too seriously.

Love the humor along with the scariness
I thought this podcast would fizzle out when the co host left in the first season but I was certainly wrong! Flora is original and covers difficult material in a humorous way. I especially enjoy his Cryptid contests and round table discussions with my other favorite podcast Monsters Among Us. I would have never watched Hellier if I hadn’t listened. Thanks guys!

Hmmm...
Still listening to the early shows as I just discovered Monsters Among Us and came here from there. I like the research, but there are times the hosts get things ridiculously wrong. Also, again, I’m still binging on the older eps and I hate, hate, HATE having to fast forward the first 10-15 minutes of the podcast to skip the silly improv “comedy”. It’s not funny and vaguely annoying. It takes away from the humor (which I love) and the research of the podcast. I haven’t yet gotten to the episodes with only Flora yet, so this may be an unfair review as of now.

I Reviewed Too Soon
Finally a paranormal and mystery podcast that loves the content but takes a completely skeptical view. Edit: I may have spoken too soon. I listened to several older episodes and I just wanted tell the other Dave to shut up, just shut up! They would spend 2 minutes talking about the subject for every eight minutes of stupid voices, annoying laughter, and bad jokes. It was like an idiotic morning radio show. I stopped listening to the older episodes. They aren’t worth it.

Newer episodes are good
The newest episodes are good! But stay away from the older stuff where there were two hosts. I tried listening to the stuff from 2015 and earlier and couldn’t make it through a single episode. Really glad that you got away from that format as those were juvenile at best with the idiotic singing and constant talking over one another, and poor attempts at humor that was infantile at best and definitely not funny. The newer episodes in stark contrast are much better and entertaining. Unfortunately though it really doesn’t warrant a subscription though because the episodes are sporadic at best with only 2 in 2018 and 2 in 2019.

Excellent content with good delivery
What more could a horror lover wish for in a podcast? The interviews he conducts are interesting and generally devoid of the silly chit chat and extraneous commentary that makes some podcasts insufferable (okay, it happens a little bit but, then again you can’t conduct an interview like you’re interrogating a suspect! And most episodes are not interviews as far as I can see). Thank you for all your good hard work!!

David squared or singular, I’ll take either!
The older shows with Dave Stecco (up to Ep. 202) are a freakin RIOT, the newer ones with just David Flora are more serious but incredibly informative and slyly humorous. Both versions are great, depending on your mood. Look forward to your commute, download this podcast!

Dang disappointed...
I really thought this would be a great channel bc I came over from monsters among us. I didn’t even make it through one episode before hearing very poorly researched opinions. Implying that only Native American shamans preformed certain rituals to do with dogman is 100% false. These were prevalent in Africa and Europe and really everywhere. Then the mocking of satanic panic. Which is a very mainstream programmed approach & where that term originated. Satanism and ritualistic abuse isnt a joking matter. Black magic in its various forms are more widespread than ever in our country. Local law enforcement as well as the FBI has been dealing with the crimes it leaves in its wake. Those are just a couple I noticed, but there are more. Anyone looking for good information Or well researched thoughts, I suggest to skip over this one bc this guy is clearly ill Informed.

Not bad
I’ve listened to the newer episodes with only one host, David Flora, and I enjoy them more than the older ones with the other David in them. The newer ones are more immersive, while still having some moments of comedy that isn’t as childish. There are still anti-Christian themes that I think need to be addressed to some extent. Altogether though I think this host does a good job of staying out of politics and religion to some degree. I think he should strive for a middle ground and try to be unbiased as possible, either that or stay away from politics and religion as not to cause unwanted controversy.

Best podcast with the best host
To start this off, I feel I’m a bit biased. Flora and I share a first name, so obviously he’s the best podcast host, right? Wrong. He’s the best host because of his humor that doesn’t stop even when dealing with some pretty awful things. He’s super responsive with e-mails and really cares about his listeners. Best of all, he’s got a voice fit for radio. He even went out of his way to give me advice as to how to start a podcast! 5/5 stars, as we journey to a thildo of iTunes reviews.

Fairly interesting stuff BUT, often the joking gets carried away and becomes irritating. The accents can be fun, but often are over the top and what’s being said becomes incomprehensible.

The worlds BEST podcast
My 10 year old son and I started listening to your show about a month and a half ago and out of the six or so podcasts I blindly picked to download for a camping trip Blurry photos turned out to be head of the class so to speak... my favorite one so far (and picking one as my favorite was no easy pick) is the “The lost Dutchman’s mine” Flora, you tell the tail so well in fact you are the best story teller I’ve EVER heard! My generations Paul Harvey. Seriously , I totally see you becoming a story telling radio icon. You have the dedication it takes , the voice that’s a must and the best PUNS this side of the Superstition Mountains. I can appreciate how hard you work to put together these shows. Must take a great deal of time, care and a lot of late nights I’m guessing. Now that being said when I first started listening I started with the latest shows first and was hooked! I had never heard the other Dave up until the “Trolls” ep . I’m guessing he’s a nice guy but I would be really into the story that was being told and he would throw a stick in the spokes so to speak and kill it for me. My son would look at me in bewilderment and ask “why did that other guy say that” and a whole lot of “what’s that mean” anyway I’m sure he had his moments but I’m so glad that the show has leveled up now! “TEAM FLORA” all the way!!!! Thank you for the hours of entertainment you’ve provided me and my son.

A great listen too and the past episodes are very funny. Its style is what I like were you tell the story and some possiblities but dont get bogged down in belief of it or taking it too seriously. The roundtable episodes and ones with a guest host work well with the newer era of the show. I look forward when a new episode pops up

You made a Burrliever out of me
I came late to the game, right after Stecco left, so working through new and back log, I feel I get two shows in one, which does make it hard to truly review. I love the humouristic styles of the early episodes, but Flora has really stepped into the role of being a single host. Full of knowledge, interest, and puns, Flora leads you through some of the most amazing and obscure myths, legends, haunts, and cryptids. Ohh and how can I forget, the annual Miss Cryptid Contest.

This Little Freak “Haint Misbehaving”!
This Little Freak “haint [out] misbehaving” because this podcast singlehandedly distracts her enough to keep her out of ALL KINDS of trouble. Heck, it may have even stopped her from being abducted by dogmen, sassy-yet-malicious ramp strutters, and/or Daniel Van Der Hanj’s sinister kin! (I will now stop referring to myself in the third person.) I listen to a TON of podcasts, and although I only found this one a few months ago, I’ve become obsessed, and I’ve blown through almost all of the archives. So although I’ve been listening to many podcasts over the years, this is the first one I’ve ever felt compelled to de-lazy myself enough to write a review for. Both the Double-D archived episodes and the post-Stecco ones have their own particular charm that brings joy to my bleak, bleak days. I’m pretty sure that on some of these days, listening to this podcast helps to prevent me from from becoming a raging haint to others. Thank you sincerely for continuing to brighten up my life with all of your strangeness, Mr. Flora! XOXO (No, that is not an alternate spelling for the name of that Ouija-board demon—it’s an abbreviation for hugs and kisses to express my fondness for this podcast.) So reader, if you have a good sense of humor, and you consider yourself a freak, and you are proud of your freaky interests and/or qualities, give this podcast a chance. But be careful—you may find it highly addictive! And hey Flora: keep up the good *BYE*!

#1 podcast
Easily my favorite podcast ever. Perfect mix of paranormal and weird stories with hilarious humor. I find myself using the accents and phrases on this show all the time. Some podcast hosts have trouble connecting with the audience in a meaningful way, but Stecco and Flora make me feel like I’m a part of their family of weirdos. Listening to them sounds like listening to friends talk and they always put a smile on my face if not burst out laughing in my cubicle. I blew through the archives quickly and while I’m going to miss Stecco, I’ll always stick around to support Flora. The way he presents information is very entertaining and never boring. I love Blurry Photos and wish I could go back in time and discover it all over again.

good subject variety
this one can be as good as the bigger podcasts that cover the same topics (like MU). this podcast does one fo the best jobs of staying entertaining, and remaining mostly neutral during political topics. it seems hard for some of the other podcasts to not lean too far left or right (like the rest of the world today), and it's nice to get a break from the strong opinions, while still being able to discuss the the fun/conspirarcy pieces of the political world.

Yes!
What started as an unholy union of “Whose Line is it Anyway?“ and “Unsolved Mysteries” has now somehow evolved into an equally unholy cross between “Myths and Legends” and “The Skeptic’s Guide to the Universe”... the end product is by turns unsettling, absurd, and hilarious but is always refreshingly open minded and respectful, thoughtful and considered. This is a show that defies categorization in the best possible way and is certainly worth a listen.

guys your show can be one of the best and you choose some awesome topics But you guys try too hard to make it funny and you must remember, this is NOT a comedy podcast its a paranormal show, or change the podcast into a comedy one. we dont mind some lame jokes or funny voices here and there , but you guys over do it and its very annoying. and do it all the time to the point where you ruin your own show . if you can manage to tone it down a bit on your lame jokes and funny voices ,your show will be way better .. thank you ..

great podcast
David is doinga great job with the new format, but I have to say that I miss the joy and laughter of the two Daves when they were together. Their timing and the way they played off each other was amazing to listen to. Many times when things were dark for me, these two made me laugh out loud and realise that things weren't that bad. A suggestion? Please try and get the other Dave back for at least one show a month? The new format works and Dave F is wonderful. I just miss the old format so much.

Hugely Improved!
I feel like Flora has always thought this new format was the show he was making. That he was a folksy investigator telling us engaging tales of ghost and monsters to give a glimpse into the legends... only he used to do it with Stecco playing the character of ‘and his idiot friend’ trying, and succeeding, to derail the podcast as often as possible with silly voices and singing unrelated songs. Losing Stecco was the best thing that ever happened to this podcast, It’s so great to have a funny, informative paranormal podcast that DOESN’T sing Black Betty ever three minutes!

Smart and Funny
At first I thought this was going to be one of those shows which took every photo to be proof of the paranormal, was I ever wrong! In my opinion this show is on par with the Simpsons. I love the satire. It's about time each cryptid is given the same respect. It's not all, "Sasquatch this and Sasquatch that". Flora has a great voice and I'm a big fan. I look forward to more stories of oddball moments in history. Love this podcast.

Not worth it without Stecco
I used to LOVE this podcast. It was by far the funniest one. Then Dave Stecco left and it just falls flat. I have tried to listen to it without him, but I have come to realize that it was the chemistry between the two Daves that made the show. I don’t even listen anymore

Absolutely Love This Show!
I've been listening to this podcast every day since I found it. I work on the computer all day so I get the chance to listen to podcasts while working. I've marathoned this show so much now that my internal dialog voices are of Flora and Stecco. I HIGHLY recommend this podcast to any and everybody that has even the slightest interest in the paranormal, unexplained, and goofy humor.

Enough with the bleeping
Fascinating and interesting topics, but I wish they wouldn’t bleep out the cursing. It’s annoying and super distracting. They might as well not curse in the first place if they’re just going to bleep it, otherwise good podcast.

Someone needs to tell these guys they simply are not funny, though I imagine many women already have tried in their own way. Stop trying. Give it up. It seriously detracts from what otherwise might be interesting content.

I absolutely loved the show when there were 2 Daves. It was freaking hilarious! Now, it’s more like lecture hall. ☹️No offense. IMO podcasts are better when there are at least two hosts involved. Hopefully Dave will find a new Dave soon.

A great 'cast that became not so much
Okay, so at one point in the past, I was working a really crap job, with bad, bad hours. This podcast single handedly saved me from tedium. It was funny, it was informative, and the neutural standing they took was refreshing. The first sign of trouble I saw was when they started downing on religion (Wicca). They later went back on this and all but apologized, though they kept running with "new aged bullsh!t" for a few years. But what killed the show was the hard turn from their original mission of "give you the information, then we'll give our two cents, and you make of it what you will". The show devolved into just another debunk, nothing is supernatural, everything is explainable ever, science is never wrong, agree with the census show. I get that some people enjoy that, (granted I'm not one of them) but by god those are a dime a dozen. There isnothing seperating this from those. It breaks my heart to unsub from this cast, but this is no longer the cast I loved to listen to while grinding away at work. Sorry guys, best of luck.

Excellent, but...
The newest shows by Dave Flora himself are really well done... OTOH, the older shows get incredibly annoying to nearly unlistenable with his former co-host. The banter can get extremely juvenile, nevertheless your opinion may vary. Give it a listen...

13 minutes of hell
If you like listening to two guys trying to make each other laugh with bad jokes and accents, then this one's for you. If, like me, you were hoping for entertaining discussions about forteana and cryptozoology, well, maybe it's here too, somewhere, but I gave up after 13:46 minutes of obnoxious, juvenile chatter between two guys who are trying way to hard. Seriously, 13:46 minutes in and all I heard about the supposed subject was the name of the person they were supposed to be discussing and nothing more! No thanks. Deleted and dismissed.

I love the variety of topics this show covers, and it has the perfect level of detail and balance of tone. These guys are great. They're friendly and responsive to their fans, they put the effort in to make a good show, and they do it all while being highly entertaining and usually in a family friendly-ish way. I found this show in a podcast group, and decided to check it out. I was expecting cryptids, and instead I got Nikola Tesla. I loved it. Just not good
The one episode I listened to, the subject was not treated seriously at all, and even worse was quite condescending and offensive to the cultures that take it seriously. Just a bunch of "academic" talking heads that were actually quite factually wrong on a lot of the topics they discussed. I guess nobody even knows how to Google properly.

You should listen
A fantastic blend of fact and entertaining discussion. Dave and David bring a pair of (mostly) open minds to these topics and follow up with a healthy dose of grounded skepticism. You want to believe in these otherworldly phenomena? That's great! You want to poo all over the people who do believe? Well, that's okay too, but don't be a jerk. You know how some things just grow on you? I started listening to this podcast a few years back around episode 30 (slightly bragging about finding them early-ish), I thought it was fun and worth a trip to the back-catalogue. It takes a few episodes to fully appreciate what a brilliant little oddness-themed variety show of a podcast you have stumbled upon. It builds upon itself episode to episode, and "Blurrlievers" impulsively check their podcast apps starting on Wednesday each week, but are usually rewarded on Thursday or Friday with a sweet-sweet dopamine release when we see that new episode. As a forwarning, not all episodes are the same. It really is a variety show that does honors to their local Second City and its alums (the Daves are from Chicago), which awesomely was one of their sponsors a few weeks back. If you are perusing the back-catalogue you might run into some Candy Chats, these are not the "normal" episodes, but equally awesome. There are also Bullstone episodes, and Ms. Cryptid contests, the penalty box, "gimme a Dreyfus!"... just go with it, really. Special kudos need to go to Mr. Flora for the quality production of the show. This is still two guys crouched around some equipment in an apartment, but they might as well be in a professional studio. Their songs and intro skits are equally impressive. This really is the beauty of podcasting where real talent and creativity have an equal stage with programs with giant bankrolls. Come join the fun! Truly, by far my favorite podcast, coming from a compulsive podcast listener. For the most part, I think episodes are good for kids 10-11+, especially if they are okay with mildly creepy stuff.

Blurry photos with no actual discussion of photos!
This podcast is false advertising. Worst thing ever. Just kidding. I started listening to this after a friend recommended it to me. I love this podcast. The content examines all things supernatural with a comedic flair that is as entertaining as it is informative. Both the hosts try to approach topics with an open mind and it comes together with great production value and interesting content. Great for extended listening periods.

Seriously, I've never gone five minutes without laughing. I can't get my finger on what they're doing as far as scripting/improv, but their pacing is completely unique, while they also keep it compelling and informative. The best podcast in the world? I think it might be.

Great Show!
One of my favorite podcasts that I listen to every week. Their consistency in quality, fun content is rivaled by very few other podcasts. Heard about these guys from the Rumor Flies Podcast and I have been plowing through the back catalogue. Would recommend to those who want great chemistry and fun subject matter.

Love this show!
Discovered this show this past week and love it. I've listened to a lot of different shows covering paranormal topics and this is, hands down, the best. The Daves' blend of humor and knowledge makes all the difference (plus it's nice to not have to fast-forward through a commercial for colloidal silver or bomb shelters every fifteen minutes). I listen to them at work and am averaging three episodes a day as I work my way through the archives.

Sometimes I ask myself why I put up with this podcast, but then I start laughing so hard I cry. In those moments I realize that while Dave and David can make some of the most annoying sounds in the history of man kind they're actually pretty hilarious the rest of the time. The topics and information are good as well. Simply laid out for listeners to give them the foundation for their own research. Keep up the good work gents.

One of my favorites of all time
Probably my favorite podcast right now. The hosts seem to take great care in researching the topics and delving into some of the lesser known phenonema and stories, etc. They're super consistent, with an hilarious, well-researched, interesting episode every week. The banter is a little rough to get used to in the beginning (lots of inside jokes from 100+ podcasts!), but once you get to "know" Dave and David and their humor, it's a fantastic time. My only gripe is the excessive viewer mail section on the tail end of almost every podcast. I'll be excited to see a 90 minute episode on a fascinating topic, and it turns out only half of the podcast is about that topic and the rest is split between viewer mail and a long intro skit. It's kind of a bummer, but can be easily skipped.

Addictively funny
I discovered these guys a few months ago on the podcast recommendation list of the Reddit page of PNWS, the podcast network of The Black Tapes and TANIS. I wanted to find something similar to those (something truly scary) but Blurry Photos had a completely different mood. So I was disappointed at first, but somehow I ended up listening to an episode in the background while playing The Binding of Isaac. Since then, I literally became addicted to it and I’m now almost caught up because I’ve been listening to it during long commutes, long walks, and now I play the game BoI only to listen to the podcast. I love their humor, and I guess being familiar to characters like Alex Jones despite the fact that I’m from Turkey helps. It’s incredible that these guys have been doing this every week for such a long time with the same passion but they are still very underrated.

Stop not listening to this.
I listen to a lot of podcasts. This is one of the best. I have rarely laughed so hard, felt so creeped out or quoted so many phrases after listening to a podcast. My friends and I now shout "Noice, eh? NOICE!" to each other while playing disc golf and I routinely sing "Vat if I punched you in ze ding ding?!" under my breath while standing in line. Skits? Yep, got em. Impressions? Oh so many. Fascinating facts and eerie suppositions? Most definitely. Puns? Shut your mouth. There's just so many puns. If you like learning about the paranormal while laughing through all of your orifices simultaneously, listen to Blurry Photos, motherlicker.

I'm a P.I. in Flora's home state so I spend a lot of time in my car trying not to die of heat stroke and listening to podcasts. I started listening to the David's after hearing them on the Expanded Perspectives Podcast. I don't drink milk but if I did it would squirt out of my nose every time I turn on the IPod. Into the paranormal/Fortean/mystical/weird/“historical”? Into hilarity, good times, and back-and-forth (sometimes) nonsensical yet (always…I think) good-natured banter? Enjoy comedy and improv? Like the idea of hearing a mind-bending plethora of different voices and impersonations come out of…only two people? What about having the opportunity to weigh on what one of the hosts gets for a tattoo? Do you have an insatiable lust of puns, some bad, some good, all mighty funny? What about drunken homeless people? If you answered “yes” (or “h*ll yes!”, “uh huh”, “do I ever!”, “aye”, or anything else similar), then please allow me to paint for you a nice picture…Imagine a world where you get everything in the previous paragraph delivered on a weekly basis right to your door, and have access to a back catalog of dozens of episodes for your listening enjoyment. Now, imagine that world coming at the fairly reasonable price of…nothing at all…(well, other than giving a five-star review, a Facebook like, a Twitter follow, and upper cutting a certain donate button). Well my friends, that world is a reality, and it’s called…Slurry Hobos! Seriously though, if you want everything from the intro paragraph, less the drunken homeless people, you should check out Blurry Photos, you shan’t regret it (though you will be asked…sooo often…to Like them, five-star review them, follow them (@blurry_photos), and kung-fu grip the life blood out of that donate button).

Blurry photos is great at combining humor and the strange. Doing topics relating to cryptozoology, conspiracy theories, and other supernatural things, but bringing the humor with it, these guys are amazing. The laughs are grand. The facts are ever-present, and never in short supply. Had this podcast been solely about the foreign accents and the puns, it would have been good enough for me. For the past month or two I’ve been listening to these guys while I work and there have been more than a few times where I laughed so hard I scared the cat. Bonus, while flying to a comic show this show made me snort laugh so loud on the plane that I got dirty looks. I enjoy that they don’t tiptoe if they think something is bull but are also humble (and hilarious enough) to admit they don’t know everything. It’s a great listen and now that I’m caught up I don’t know how I’m going to get any work done.

Everything You Wanted And More
Blurry Photos is a quilting podcast in which hosts Dave "UnFinished Object" Stucco and David "Batik Hole" Flora discuss the latest unexplained yarn phenomena such as The Mystery School of Bearding and Binding, The Burn Test of 1949, Big Stitch sightings, and a host of other topics. In addition to weekly news and and updates on the hottest quick-stitch trends, Dave and David intermingle the show with popular folk songs from the 1880's and 90's; All Folk All The Folken Time. In should be noted that Dave Stucco does a spot-on Maid Marian impression. How that is in any way relevant to the fast-paced world of quilting is for you to find out (Hint: It's not and I'm insulted that you'd even think to ask that)

Ken Hite Is To Blame!
Several months ago I asked Twitter what podcasts I should be listenined to. Kenneth Hite responded with the words "Blurry Photos." Now, out of context, that seems a bit crazy; not only does a photo NOT qualify as a podcast, you can't even LISTEN to a photo. Would the blurriness of a photo change that? I didn't think so, but I was mistaken! It turns out if you get a whole lot of blurry photos together, you get a really fun, informative and charmingly funny podcast out of them! As soon as I saw that they did an episode on Hinterkaifeck, I knew I had found true love.

I learned to never apologize for a pun
I heard that prior to working on the Blurry Photos podcast, the Daves had very different life paths. Co-host David Flora lived off-the-grid and off-the-map in the wilderness, practicing artisanal carpentry. He's an ex-planer of the unexplored. Once when Dave Stecco was a toddler, he woke to a commotion in the house. His parents were in the kitchen with friends, playing the popular game Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots. As Dave teetered into the kitchen to see what the fuss was about, his mom pointed saying "Look! It's a third robot." His parents and their friends laughed and laughed. They were drunk. Poor Dave Stecco never understood the joke and grew up believing he was 34% robot. I like the show.

I came across the podcast because I am a big fan of Last Podcast on the Left. This podcast is a cleaner version of that podcast. This podcast focuses more of the mysterious and spooky than the true crimes/serial killers but it is done in a hilarious and very informative well. What a wide range of topics that are covered in a humerous yet semi-educational way. My husband turned me on to these guys with a Candy Chat episode and ever since that I have been hooked. I love the questionable accents and original songs, along with a lot of the opening scenes. Rarely has a podcast caused me to laugh so hard that coffee has come out of my nose! These guys tackle a lot of conspiricies and cryptids (Hi Geoff the talking Mongoose) with an open mind and humor. I wish that there was more than one podcast a week but I realize that they have "real" jobs. Blurry Photos rocks
I'm all caught up and Mr. Flora and Mr. Stecco are a staple which I am now finding myself without until their next release. The show is great fun and incredibly informative on subjects of the esoteric and weird. Great stuff - listen to a few and join the goodness.

Annoying
The episode topics look interesting. The hosts ruin it with childish humor.

Terah's Mystery Friend Sounds So Hot
Great podcast; wildly entertaining and, truth be told - hearing Terah's email read on air and fantasizing about her mystery friend… I'm glad for these corduroy trousers and their reinforced zipper.

Good but used to better
-Get ready to fast forward the first 6 minutes of the podcast. The hosts engage in antics best left for a mid show break or a seperate podcast entirely. -Their topics are great but even as a long time listener you feel like you're listenng to a conversation with a lot of inside jokes. -The show is running out of topics and it's painfully obvious. - Love the show but it's time for a rethinking of the show structure

Banter!
This show is great if you like your weird and unexplained coated in a fine layer of jokes and banter. The show is as much comedy as it is informational. I don’t get how someone can fault it for not focusing enough on just getting you the information (looking at you pod-on-pod and one star dude). Podcasts inherently target niche demographics and there is a large sector out there that don’t want to listen to another dry, Ira Glass style podcast. If you want ‘just the facts’, this is not for you. If you want to hear about weird stuff from a couple of improvisers applying their skills, welcome to the fan base.

Mediocre at best.
I tried listening to the episode about Bohemian Grove after hearing about it on Sword & Scale. I could only make it about half way through before turning it off. The banter back and forth between the hosts is so distracting. It seems they have a lot of inside jokes and like to talk about them on the show which isn't enjoyable for the listener. The material seems well researched but they should put more effort into delivering the information.

Right in the wheelhouse of a person like me who likes a good conspiracy but doesn't believe in any of them. Funny guys. I'm too lazy to keep up with the new cryptids and aliens and whatnot so I am glad I can just tune in and get the inside scoop.

Just plain fun
Crypto facts, questionable accents, face palming puns, and long running inside jokes. (Thunder Sound) What's not to love? Seriously if you listen to crypto/unexplained type of podcasts, give these guys a shot. It's a nice break from the 4 or 5 shows who recycle guests and topics. If you typically listen to podcast with headphones at work, be prepared for odd looks from co-workers as they will start to wonder about your sanity after the 10th giggle-snort. My office currently has a giggle-snort ban. Anyone who remotely sounds like a mirthful piggy is sent directly to the penalty box. (Dramatic Guitar)

I am taking a break from the podcast for a few months. The shows starting in the second half of last year started getting on my nerves, the last one I listened the whole way through was the Episode 95: Derinkuyu. Keep on trucking’.

Excellent Show
Dave and David are two hilarious podcast hosts, whose humor and high-quality presentation makes it worth giving a listen even if the subject matter does not immediately strike your interest. I personally had no interest in the Unknown before listening to the show, yet now listen to the show as much for the cool crypto-stuff as for the general humor!

These guys...
Let me start off by saying I did not find this Blurry Photos, I was unwillingly led to them by a friend. Let me tell you something, I’m glad I was. Weird subjects, witty banter, puns! Oh god the puns! These guys are great. I primarily listen to them in my car, or in the haunted basement where I work (seriously, it’s the oldest building in my city, sh$% is haunted man). Would recommend to anyone and everyone!

- Ep 274: The Devil: A History part 2David is back with the conclusion of the Devil and the history attached to him! Covering other cultures, names, looks, and breakdowns of the info, the Devil gets fleshed out and examined in great detail. We pick back up with various forms of Evil in other cultures through history. Then many of the countless names of this entity are dissected and examined, paying careful attention to the origins of each. The several iterations of looks are discussed after that. And finally the episode concludes with analysis of the research and how it has influenced cultures through the ages. What was the actual purpose of this being? How has it evolved? And what conclusions can you draw from the information? David ends with opinion based on the facts, and encourages you to take a thoughtful examination of them for yourself. It's the finish of one of the biggest episodes in Blurry Photos history, one that hopefully teaches you something new and gives you perspective you never knew you were missing! - Ep 274: The Devil: A History part 1Flora begins an epic deep dive into the history of the Devil with the first of a 2-part episode! Known the world over as the arch-fiend of all that is good, the Devil enjoys a sinister reputation, but is it truly deserved? Join David on a journey through history as he presents his research on this figure of malevolence. In part 1, David begins with the earliest mentions of Satan, including cultural inspirations. Both the Old and New Testaments of the Christian Bible are referenced as well as Hebrew scriptures and apocrypha not included in the Biblical canon. Ancient mythologies of Sumer, Babylon, and Persian Zoroastrianism are explored for their evil figures. And Jason from the Dragons in Genesis podcast joins to offer perspective throughout. Part 2 will explore evil in other cultures around the world, the many names of Satan and their origins, his looks, and conclusions which can be drawn from the information. - Blurry Photos Apr 22 · 57m Ep 266: Mysteries in the Mist with WT WatsonFlora welcomes author WT Watson back to the show to discuss his new work, Mysteries in the Mist: Mist, Fog, and Clouds in the Paranormal. Folklore and Fortean researcher WT Watson brings his expert clarity to foggy topics in Mysteries in the Mist. Just about every Fortean topic is covered in Watson's new book. From aliens and cryptids to Fae folk and physics, there's a little bit of a lot that he found in his research. Fog and mist happens all around the world, as does the odd phenomena that sometimes occurs in/with it. Colorful fogs, sentient mists, teleporting clouds and more have been reported, and Watson has collected many anecdotes to compile them in one work. Bottom line, if you run into some weirdly-colored, foul-smelling, or hot fog, run the other way! And don't let the clouds rain on your parade - check out other episodes on the Blurry Photos website! Don't forget to check out Travis' book Mysteries in the Mist Biography from Amazon W. T. Watson is a coffee addict and writer of both fiction and non-fiction. - Ep 265: The Burke and Hare MurdersSeason 11 of Blurry Photos kicks off with the Burke and Hare murders! A wild story of 19th century body-snatching, the Burke and Hare murders may have helped advance anatomical science, but definitely regressed ethics. William Burke and William Hare, Irishmen living in Scotland, have become two of the most famous serial killers of the 19th century. When the demands of medical science became too much to keep up with naturally, the two Irishmen stepped in to lend a helping hand. Not grave robbers, or "resurrection men" as they were called at the time, the duo skipped the whole burial part to provide anatomists with fresh bodies. It's a macabre tale of science and economics gone awry, with a slightly tipsy storytelling element to boot on this episode of Blurry Photos! Don't forget to watch me stream games on Twitch!
