Waste of time
Incredibly boring. A lot of it is just them bro-ing out and making vague statements. Interviewing people who pretend they’re self made then as they talk it turns out they had rich connected people in their lives helping them out. It’s not really helpful to hear how people who already have assets can keep hoarding more.

helpful content
for the lighter side of this and how to overcome losing 1.5 million on a beautiful, brand new hone that our neighbors sold for that much more, just 2 years apart, same builder, same finishes, same everything, and how realtors told us so many lies to get us to just sell for 600 k less than we bought for, check out "community news with Paul and sasha". Takeaway, don't ever listen to realtors. They have given us our worst advice ever while just trying to make their quick sale and their 75k on these high end properties while having no remote at losing us our life savings. i'll never trust a realtor again. never.

Episode 700 was awesome!
Huge fan of BP! Your podcast and free information literally saved me and my family from the financial ruin of the pandemic. I’ve owned a travel company for 10 years that my wife and myself were completely dependent on. She got pregnant right before the pandemic, business totally stopped two weeks later. I discovered Bigger Pockets after about a week of major depression and anxiety. Immediately I started binging episodes and it gave me hope that we could turn things around. Almost 3 years of listening and about 59 business books later, and we own a duplex that we house hack, we’re converting the garage to and ADU, I got my real estate license 18 months ago and sold 12 houses and now our travel company is back!! David, Brandon and Josh the OG, I have you all to thank for turning my financial life around. In regards to episode 700, I NEED that software to track my life! If there is anyway that I could get more info on that, I would be forever in your debt (as if I’m not already)!

100% the best, biggest and baddest RE podcast
Was introduced to BP in Jan 2021 and haven’t stopped listening. Started my RE journey in 2017, Had my first deal in 2019 and wish I’d learned about this podcast sooner. Every week this podcast is right on point with an aspect I need to learn or a source for new information. I send this to anyone who is interested in learning about RE and it’s the first place I go for education and advice from practitioners.

It doesn’t get better
This. Will. Change. Your. Life. If you are looking to learn about real estate in a fun and approachable way you’ve found it. I’ve taken countless tips, tricks, and advice from this podcast, and guess what, when you apply what they are teaching, IT WORKS. My favorite part about Biggerpockets is the range it has between episodes. They get to the nitty gritty details, they talk about the scope of the market, they touch on all sorts of strategies, they bring on amazing big name guests, and so on. The hosts themselves, are ACTUALLY crushing it in real estate. (This is important) Personally, I didn’t have anyone in my circle who knew anything about real estate investing. Finding this podcast.. back in the Josh Dorkin days.. was truly a pivotable point in my financial future. It pointed me in the right direction time and time again.

The MBA of podcasts
I cannot get enough of this podcast. As someone newer in my investment journey I cannot thank the team enough for their transparency and willingness to teach all of us from their knowledge and the team of guests they interview daily. Being able to have the confidence to start and ultimately scale a real estate portfolio is due in large part to the BP team. They cover topics such as software to use, buying your first property, tax strategies, passive investing, and overall stories of what went well and what went wrong from real life scenarios.

Great guests, cringey host
Really interesting guests and content. My only issue is that David Greene makes a lot of sexist cheesy comments. He just seems to be really into looks and trying to sound cool and flirty. It’s pretty lame for someone who’s often talking to really business savvy women. Sometimes it’s really cringey, see episode 679 on mid term rentals for reference.

Nonsense
I mean it’s a mix batch of nonsense and valuable information. They think they’re so funny they’re not. If you’re already well aquainted with the market and are looking for smart analysis these are not the guys.If you are novice and don’t know anything about the market this could be a good start provided you’re willing to listen to a lot of nonsensical rapport.

Episode 677
I appreciate this soldier’s service (I’m a retired Army officer as well) but I’ve listened to about 10 minutes and something seems off. Doesn’t make sense how’s he’s walking his dog and knocking on doors and offering sub-to deals and doesn’t understand them himself. First house hack made sense, then liquidating everything on a BRRR with no experience. I’m moving on. I know the moderators would agree but won’t say it.

Don’t forecast anymore
Honestly love the info in this podcast, but I really took the advice to heart during the pandemic. The hosts and guests all pulled out they crystal balls and reassured everyone that prices were only going up. Then the narrative switched to “oh prices may correct 10%”, then in the most recent episode, the narrative is “no one knows when a crash is going to happen”. Wow. You guys weren’t the only people doing this, but I think a great approach is to not definitely say whether one thing or another is going to happen.

Hours and hours of vital education
David Greene the Machine and Robuiltooooooo (spoken like a soccer announcer when a goal is scored), I’ve been listening to the show for years (back in the beardy Brandon days) and have loved you guys since day 1. The value that you provide on this podcast (not to mention the entire BP website) can not be overstated. I heard a listener comment that they “check out when a guest mentions students”, which drives me crazy. We live on a monetary system so if you aren’t getting paid to do something then what is the incentive? You provide so much valuable information for free on this show, there has to be a benefit to doing that otherwise the information would stop coming. You can tell the difference between someone who is giving a teaser with the intention of trying to sell something, as opposed to what you all do. That’s one of the reasons I love this show, you truly want to give out as much good information, as affordably (mostly free), as possible. Keep doing what you guys do!!!

The podcast is dope and I love the Q&A from all the bigger pockets members. Here’s my feedback - keep the Batman voice for the quick tip or use your regular voice but the high pitched quick tip has to go and stay gone. Also, I would love to hear more episodes with Rob and Henry as I love their chemistry and their stories about quitting their jobs on a previous episode was great. Anyway, you guys keep up the great work you’re doing to inspire millions to build wealth through real estate.

BiggerPockets is a Complete, FREE Real Estate Education
The BiggerPockets podcast is truly outstanding– the best real estate podcast available today. The amount of production effort and teaching value put into each episode is clearly evident. The podcast topics represent a good variety of all aspects of real estate, and I admire the perspective they take on helping entrepreneurs build their own financial freedom. There’s no petty talk about Lamborghinis and the like. Rather, the show’s stance on building wealth focuses on creating long-term economic value in real estate (no gimmicks!), thereby offering oneself a wider set of choices in life, including the ability to spend more time with family, and the ability to establish legacies, including charitable ones. I am always learning something new from this podcast. The repartee among the hosts is funny, relevant, and genuine, but short enough that I don’t find myself speeding through the first 20 minutes of each show. I also feel that, despite a field dominated by white males, the show makes a good, honest effort to bring in a diversity of guests, which I appreciate. I particularly like some of the immigrant stories I have heard on the podcast, which remind me of the things that are right about America, despite so much seemingly bad news and divisiveness. I have from my personal point of view two pieces of feedback– first, may I offer that not every listener is in their 20’s and 30’s with the time to build long term wealth slowly. We didn’t have education like this “in my day,” (yes I’m old) and I am betting there are plenty of people in their late 40’s to 70’s who would like to hear more about how to build up and max out their retirement plans while there is still time, all the while minimizing taxes. Second, some episodes feel like a long infomercial for David’s KW real estate agency, his mortgage brokerage, and his other budding businesses. To hear him describe the leadership, best practices, and training put into these businesses, I have no doubt that he and his partners will represent soon, if they don’t already, the leading companies in each of their respective segments. However, I do recall the Josh Dorkin days and the deemphasis then on gurus and heavy sales techniques. Sometimes I feel the current and recently departed hosts spend a little too much time touting their accomplishments and services. I don’t want to see BiggerPockets podcast evolve into a Grant Cardone- like testosterone fest. Nothing wrong with Grant Cardone, but I like better the place of humility and wisdom that I felt Bigger Pockets came from moreso in the past. More power to these formidable investor-hosts like David Greene and Brandon Turner who have taken their own advice and achieved great success through hard work. Congratulations! I love to hear the way each of them thinks- they are brilliant! However, I think the magic of the BiggerPockets podcast that has attracted such a large following has something to do with keeping the real estate talk and advice real and approachable. I’d hate to see BiggerPockets lose that spark- just my 2 cents. Keep up the fantastic work, BiggerPockets!

This podcast has taught me a wealth of knowledge on real estate investing. Lost a Long Time Listener
I’m sure I’m going to sound entitled or overly critical. I listened to every single BP podcast, until the guard change. I did my very best to give the new team a fair shake, but it seems like it keeps getting further and further away from proven fundamentals and into the world of speculation. You had something really good here. I recommend the team listen to some of the popular early shows and get back in the game. I’ll check back in 6 months and hope it’s gotten good again. Also, you might need to throw in a legal disclosure because people are going to lose money following your advice. I’m still investing. Still interested in real estate, but the reason I liked BP podcast was for the focus on Real Estate. It feels like this podcast is now 30% guru talk now and 30% hustle/hype culture with a few nuggets of good investing in between. I can’t believe how many times I’ve heard David Greene say that it might be okay to buy a property with negative cash flow. WHAT!!! Your supposed to be teaching and looking out for Nubes! I’m sure it seems like I’m misunderstanding what Greene is saying. But I’ve heard it so many times that the underlying message seems to be “Act now! Appreciation will save you! You might be the exception to the rule. Go get yours!” You’re going to get some new investors burned and burned hard rather than encouraging sound fundamentals. Not one of your guests have recommended buying negative cash flow. Not ONE! But Greene has said it multiple times. It’s starting to feel like his Agent side is trying to push the narrative rather than his investing side. He’ll throw in a disclaimer that it might work for you and might not shirking any responsibility. But come on! I do like the idea behind the “Seeing Greene” episodes, but some of the recommendations and advice are just BAD investing fundamentals. I even really like Greene’s story telling style. But then you hear him teach bad principles repeatedly you can’t help but wonder what is going on. Feels like hype culture, not sound investing fundamentals. Course correct guys! Also, too many adds! Trim the adds down, I think this should be a loss leader. Keep the podcast sacred and have it aim back at BP. The show should be pointing back toward BP for subscription revenue not 10 minutes of adds! In summation: Low to no adds. Get into the show within 2 minutes of run time. Teach solid fundamentals. Get away from HYPE. Keep the energy. Also the analytics content is amazing. Keep that coming. But I’ll search that out individually instead of scattered in the show. There are so many good RE investing podcasts now it isn’t worth it to keep hoping for good episodes here. Good luck!

Best real estate podcast!
I’m fairly new to the community, but I can’t say enough good things about this podcasts. It’s by far the most comprehensive, detail oriented and has strategy for beginner all the way to the pros! Highly recommend getting into the community and learning about real estate through this pod!

What happened?
There was a time that this podcast was great. Josh Dorkin was a great moderator with Brandon Turner. The guests were great and it was more about the guest’s story. Now, unfortunately, Advertising has become a very big part of the podcast. If I do try to listen to an episode, I need to fast forward through the first 10 minutes to get to the actual podcast, which is usually full of Ju Jitsu and workout metaphors. I am hopeful things turn around. There is a lot of potential for bigger pockets to provide value to its listeners once again. Right now, I don’t find value in the show.

Episode 628!!!
I’ve been listening for years but Episode 628 was a whole new level. Just a solo podcast with both guys chatting about real world stuff in their business and being transparent was such great insight. Not a guest flashing about how great their deals are to impress the host. Just real people having real conversations. Love that. I’d love to head David and Rob in a format like this.

Decent
There still is some quality information from these hosts but it’s not the same as it once was. I, like so many other listeners, miss the interviews of successful REIs. This provided people with inspiration and made you feel like you could be just like the guests being interviewed.

No Longer Listening
I loved this show from its inception and credit it with much of my REI success. I really tried to like the new format and host and still listened. However there are so many show about real estate investing now I can’t justify listening to this host anymore for many of the same reasons other reviewers state. I hope BP will consider going back to interviews and include people that may or may not bring social media/followers, etc.

Love The Seeing Greene Episodes!
I’m a multi-family investor and have been listening to bigger pockets for years. I love everything you guys do, but I’ve especially been loving the Seeing Greene episodes. More often than not, someone is asking a question that is super relevant to me. I wish there was an episode every day. I truly cannot get enough of them. David Greene is bad
Used to love this podcast. Been listening since the beginning. But I can't stand the new hosts. Someone take away David Greene's microphone. Any time this guy tries to talk about anything other than being a realtor, he talks nonsense. He sounds like a Monty Python character trying to sound intelligent. Really a sham that a knuckle-dragging moron took over a good podcast. He's what someone with no charisma sounds like when they try to be charming. I wish these guests just came on with no host.

Too many Mr. Greens
I am a long time listener, and couldn’t wait for the episode to come out every week. Specially when they had interviews with successful REI from all walks of life. As I said in my initial 5 star review from 2 years ago, I really enjoyed the real life lessons and struggles of investors as well as their investment successes. The content changed significantly and it seems like every time I look at the show, it is another one of David’s taking questions or more of Mr. Green’s opinion of different REI topics. Still can find some interesting nuggets but not as close as what it was, specially for a slightly more seasoned investors.

Miss the old days with it
This podcast used to contain gems. For the average person REI was possible. Now everything seems to be “how I bought 500 doors in 2 years with no money down”. I don’t think this podcast is reaching its audience anymore. Yes there is Bigger pocket rookie, but is there really a need for that snow? There are other podcasts out there that fit the everyday person.

Has Biggerpockets gotten too big?
I used to really enjoy the value the podcast brought and it was one of the main reasons for becoming a member. It’s still a great podcast. But the last couple times I’ve listened it feels like constant advertisements, plugs for their tools, membership pushes, and partnerships. It’s just gotten a bit much and I hope it changes. That being said, their growth is probably a result of this push, and if it’s working, it’s working.

Used to be my favorite podcast
I am a long time listener, and I am probably in the minority now. Thought it was worth voicing my thoughts. The show has changed. The value of the show wasn’t in the product of the show and adding more content for content’s it was have long conversation with people on their real estate journey. It’s probably an unpopular opinion but let’s go back to a once a week show and bring back the top quality guests from the earlier days.

Meh….
Been listening to BiggerPockets for years and I always found it entertaining and informative. Until now. I have nothing against David, but it seems to have become a celebrity worship show. I don’t see much value. David, a little advice. It is fine if others refer to you as a rockstar. When you refer to yourself as a rockstar? No bueno. Moving on to a podcast that is less personality and more education.

Focus on Real World People
Been listening to the BP pod since 2020. I’ve told everyone interested in real estate to listen to the pod to learn about what other people have done to be successful in real estate investing. Recently I’ve listened less and less, and wondered if it was just me or if others feel the same way. Read through the reviews, David let’s get back to talking with real people. It’s difficult to resonate with your individual experience because every buyer seller tenant contractor etc will want to work with you, you’ve entered celebrity status within real estate investing which is fantastic and you should be very proud of that. However, I find it more helpful to hear how people with little to no experience have earned success. Hope this feedback helps recalibrate the pod.

I would like to congratulate your show for bringing Jamil to the Bigger Pockets family! It sounds like you had an interesting discussion with him. I totally resonate with how he started in real estate from being a medical student who really wanted to pursue medicine and join his entire family of physicians, but then found himself becoming frustrated because there are some things that don't work out as expected! I definitely enjoyed your show and found myself smiling all alone. Thank you for bringing inspiration to all of your listeners. Will surely recommend your show to my family and friends.

Too much fluff now!
I’ve been listening on and off for a couple years now, and the info they’ve shared has certainly helped me to change into a long-term thinker. I started when Josh and Brandon were hosting, then Brandon and David, and now David and Rob. All duos have been great and they give awesome info, but…! I’ve recently noticed it’s taking longer and longer to get to the “meat” of the episode. Then when they get there, there’s a lot more ads than there used to be that interrupts the good stuff. I might listen to every episode if they were all substance and no fluff! If it wasn’t for that… 5 stars easy.

I miss the old BP
I miss the old days where episodes were interview format of real estate experts and gurus. Here’s a metaphor
Old BP was fresh, new, entertaining, and exciting. Like the first phase of avengers. The add on shows where some hit or miss like phase 2. When it’s good it’s really good, but not everything will land. BP now feels like phase 3 and 4. Tired, burned out and just going through the motions. David’s show now reminds me of Thor the dark world. I’ve seen it 3 times and still cannot tell you the plot. I find myself getting lost in thought or otherwise distracted for 10-15 minutes at a time before I realize I’m “listening” to a podcast. It’s not terrible, it doesn’t hurt my ears or anything, but David needs to figure a way to keep my attention. It doesn’t help that everyone that made BP what it was has since signed out. If they lost interest, why should I still be interested.

Loved this podcast for so long, but it’s getting a little hard to listen to David be so pumped on David. It makes me miss the important points of the show because I’m thinking about how other people fit in the room with David’s ego. Time to tone it down. We all think you’re great and super impressive, but not as much as you do. Love Rob - humble and funny and seems to genuinely have fun and while not being preachy. Anyway, you’re out there doing it…so all kudos given. I’m not out there being a public figure. But hopefully this can be constructive criticism and help you guys continue and grow.

Hi BP! Absolutely love the podcast. Just wish you guys would go back to the traditional format of interviewing guests about their journey. More Experts Less David
While I appreciate the info, David is too long winded at times. He talks more about himself to the point where it’s off-putting. We get it, you’re so successful with so many businesses and own all the things. However, we’d prefer to hear other experts’ experiences while David facilitates the dialogue. Hearing about his schedule, projects, businesses, teams, etc. is just becoming so redundant, it’s hard for me to listen anymore.

Still the best RE Podcast around
I’ve read other reviews about the new format and David Greene hosting. I personally do miss the earlier “beginner” focused content sometimes. However, I’m smart enough to realize that we can’t stay on the milk forever. It’s nice to be challenged by the meat and potatoes a little bit. I’m a woman, don’t mind the sports analogies and don’t feel like David is mansplaining at all. He has a gift for putting sometimes complex strategies and issues into terms a beginner can understand. So, keep giving us the high level stuff and mix in content that motivates the beginners. Thank you for the massive amount of free content, books and information. I love that we have it all at our disposal. I would much rather go to Bigger Pockets U than pay a guru $30-50k for useless information.

This podcast has changed my life
I am so glad I came across this podcast when I did. In August of 2021, I wanted to start investing in real estate through house hacking as a 20 year old college student. I found BiggerPockets and immediately became obsessed, specifically with this podcast. I listened religiously and in December, I closed on my first deal. I have learned so much from this podcast, and it was probably the biggest contributor to giving me confidence that I can invest in real estate at this time in my life. LOVING the new shows and formats
Hey guys, I’m loving the new shows and formats! Keep it up. Love the live questions, almost everyone of those episodes so far has had a question I’m personally working through as well as answers that confirm things I’ve already done and give me things to think about in the future. Also really like the market update and looking at data as things could be changing fast in 2022. Would love to hear what you think about the new Freddie and Fannie changes to second home loans coming. We are in the middle of new construction in Orlando and going to be impacted significantly as we were planning on doing the loan as a second home with 10% down locked for 30 with a rate in low to mid 3’s. Now having to consider other options as this may not be the best path.

Conflicted
Feeling super conflicted right now. I started listening to this podcast a year ago and fell in love! Mainly because of the stories of how real people got started in real estate investing from not knowing anything and we’re inspired by the podcast to start. The podcast lately lacks the former, is not the same without Brandon, and the new intro music sounds like an auto repair shop commercial. Mixed with the religious views and right leaning politics (which I could recognize/ignore before) I just don’t think it’s for me anymore.

I've been listening to this podcast on YouTube for the last 2 months and have learned a TON about real estate investing, real estate "business" on this show. Justin, David, Josh are awesome and super smart plus all the guests are great too!!

Can’t listen anymore
I enjoyed a lot of the earlier episodes for practical real estate information and conversations with a wide variety of investors. Now it’s more disjointed, contains a ton of mindset segments and tangential discussions that aren’t helpful, and injects way more politics than I care for in a real estate podcast. I think it’s straying beyond the hosts’ and guests’ expertise into the “dudes just talking” category of podcasts. Disappointing. I still like the Rookie podcast though.

Off topic
You must have run out of real estate topics. Come on guys - don’t stray. If I want to learn how to train for a triathlon I’ll find a personal trainer. Don’t need to hear about it from you guys. Mindset or attitude is not an issue that’s even remotely interesting to me as a real estate investor. I miss your old days. You’ve gone off topic too many times lately.

Turned a dark corner
They’ve done it. They’ve finally gotten me to quit listening. Having Robert Kiyasoki on your show is one thing, but laughing at his incredibly biased (at best) and looney bin rhetoric is such a joke. You spent your into defending him saying he ‘grew up at a different time’ … seriously? This guy didnt make it 3 mins before he started talking about ‘commis’ and ‘flower children.’ Bye BP.

Wealth of valuable information!
Every single show teaches me something new. Or a different perspective on something, particularly when David or Brandon take a real estate concept then build an analogy through something else, that really adds to the comprehension of the concept. This podcast helps me to think bigger and bolder. Thanks so much & keep up the great work!

Show loosing its path
Was one of my favorite podcasts and episodes brought a ton of value. Show is becoming more of a marketing machine. Earlier episode formats and pace were more appealing. Newer episodes feel mechanical, rushed, and fulfilling a metric to make 3 episodes a week. Go back to 1 episode a week, slow the pace down, and just talk real estate investing! People loved that format and sometimes less is more in terms of episode numbers.

Now I remember…
I started out listening to BP a few years ago. As time went on Brandon talked more and more about HIMSELF and how fabulous/smart/rich he is. Good for him. Does not do a thing for anyone else. I stopped listening and went elsewhere. I listened the other day & it was just David Green. It was so refreshing, listenable & full of actionable info. Hardly a brag anywhere. I thought maybe BP had changed their format. Great! I listened to this episode and BLAM! Brandon & his monologue have unfortunately gone nowhere. Oh well. Plenty of fish in the sea.

Revert To Old Show Format
The older episodes of the show seem to be much more beneficial. I learned much more from hearing someone’s story & their journey through RE investing. The new show format where Brandon or David are solo on the show is not good at all. I see the intention behind it but it kind of comes off as lazy & recycled content. I also don’t like to hear one person talk on one point for an hour. The beauty of this show was that you had different perspectives, & got to hear from other peoples experiences. That’s what taught me what to do & what not to do in my early stages of RE investing. Now it seems like they’re running out of people to interview & just post content just to post. It’d be nice to hear from other investors again on a frequent basis.

Value in early episodes
Earlier episodes are better, but the show has turned into a megaphone for hosts to propel their own deals, agendas, and products. As a result of their success, they’re becoming more and more unrelatable to an early-stage investor. I still listen and follow on IG, etc, but the footage and narrative surrounding jet setting, exclusive Hawaiian retreats for already-successful investors, etc. is starting to be discouraging/alienating, but that’s on me. [Don’t be so focused on driving to the other side of the island that you forget to slow down and look out the windows of your Tesla at the beauty around you!] Listen for the gold nuggets, especially from guests. For a beginning investor with “smaller pockets,” start earlier in the history for more actionable information and examples of deals that required less than a million to start. Or check out the new BP rookie channel if this is becoming “the big kids table.”

Love Bigger Pockets! David Greene talks too much!
Brandon is awesome! David is awesome too. I just wish David would ask questions instead of giving so much commentary. Brandon asks great questions and he listens to answers. It takes Brandon a paragraph before he gets to his question. I tune in to hear the great guests not the hosts. I appreciate great questions from hosts. David, do less talking, sharpen your questions and do more listening. Every answer from a guest doesn’t need to be validated by your personal experience. Bigger Pockets is a 4+ star program. It could be a 5 with more hosting and less editorializing.

One of my favorite podcasts!
Update to previous review: still one of my favorite podcasts and I’m loving the new Q & A format. It’s like having a coffee date with some really interesting people who actually make you a better person. I met Brandon, randomly, when I was in our local Starbucks and he was every bit as nice as he seems on the show! If you’re interested in any facet of tea estate, Brandon and David should be part of your daily ritual. It’s true, they will change your life. My previous review: Disclaimer: I have to pace myself when listening to this podcast because they're so inspiring that my brian explodes with ideas and inspiration. Seriously! These guys are smart and funny but also consistently bring great guests to their show. They know how to keep the conversation moving while staying focused on the topic. I listen to them when I’m running...that’s a testament to how interesting they are! Love these guys! While I deeply miss Josh and wish the best for him and his family, I love love love David Green and the chemistry and combined brain power he and BeardyBrandon share. Thanks guys!!

Can Brandon go through an episode without talking about himself or his mobile home parks??
I’ve been a loyal listener since the very beginning, while I absolutely love the content and the conversations, it will be a much enjoyable experience if Brandon can focus MORE on the guests than on himself. He can always find a way to bring the conversation back to him or mention something that HE has done, even though most of the time he doesn’t offer useful advice at all?? David on the other hand, has always been so insightful, asks great questions and just an all around better host!

Best real-estate podcast out there🔥
My main goal looking for a real-estate podcast was to find an informative podcast about real-estate not only to make me more knowledgeable on the subject, but since I am 17 going 18, I’m preparing for my real estate career. This podcast is not only informative but is fun to listen to, none of the members are boring at all and I find myself laughing a lot listening to them talk to their guests and such. I’ve learned a lot from this show, to the point where people have complimented me on how knowledgeable I am at real estate at only 17 years old! I’m so passionate about real-estate and I love listening to people who are the same way but also successful...Great podcast 10/10 Also I would highly recommend listening to the podcast with guest Ed Mylett... I started listening to BiggerPockets in March as the country went full tilt in the pandemic. I can honestly say it’s changed my life! I went from renting a small house with my wife to house hacking a duplex and having 9 other units with a partner! Thank you Brandon and David, hope I can continue to grow and give back one day!

Wow! So much wisdom here. Life can be a roller coaster and sharing lessons learned is a gift to the learner and the listener. Josh, you made my heart stop! Ugh. But, agreed, only I know what I need to do. Its helpful to hear that be affirmed. Family first. Easy to drift on that value when life is good. I am grateful you shared your story and I was very touched by the wisdom and reflection it offered up.

Best RE podcast, best host
I have watched Brandon grow from a scrappy podunk podcast sidekick with a handful of properties to a legit player in this world over the last 5-7 years. If you want to know what this podcast is REALLY about, start with the early episodes and watch how persistently pursuing a plan (while learning from others) pays off. His journey is the underlining narrative. His mindset is the key to his and your success.

Great show
I’ve been listening for a few months now, and absolutely love it. I was SUPER skeptical at first bc I didn’t know what their angle was (gurus trying to sell you a program for $$$$... not the case!!). The BiggerPockets team is down to earth and inspiring; and they are always bringing in engaging guests to interview and tell their stories. I’m a real estate agent, and I’ve loved learning the investing side of real estate (which no one teaches us!!). I feel like Brandon and David are friends of mine, with their audiences best interests at heart. Thank you guys for what you do. It matters!!

NO Luck with Realotors
Hi, I’ve reached out to at least four Real Estate Agents on the Bigger Pockets website and never hear back from any of them. I called (more than once) texted and email introducing myself. Just listening to the 402. Podcast and it recommended finding a real estate agent through their website. I wouldn’t recommend this from experience! Such a shame as we’re young investors looking to purchase our first home in the Northern Virginia area and needed good advice and support!

Great info! Learning lessons from others who have done what I hope to do. I just listened to show 400, with ~10 tips distilled from the shows, and I found myself taking notes, and then emailing snippets to myself to follow up on / think thru again later. Sooooooo much advertising
First of all, the content that is good, is great. The problem is that they spend 40% of the show advertising. Not just occasional plugs, it feels non stop. This review is mostly for the creators so you guys can hopefully re-evaluate and reduce the amount of garbage that surrounds your good content. Yes, ad’s are necessary but you overdo it hardcore.

Some episodes seem substance-less.
Episodes seem hit or miss on useful information. It seems like a lot of the time the host is just asking the guest to tell us how great they are. For example in the latest Episode (406) we got an hour on this veteran turned investor talking about “systems” in these real vague, inactionable ways. And maybe the host already knew, but I would’ve been much more interested in how she went from 1 place to 50 in two years. Did she have helpful family members? Go through investors? I think most people would find that series of events 1000x more interesting than the Meyers-Briggs testing. But instead we got back patting on her philosophy for picking the right help. BP puts out 400 episodes on these people that scale like crazy, but never dig in the dirt on how they pulled that off??? Instead we get “Dave bought 46 houses in 2 months, here’s what he thinks about marketing to second time homebuyers in a suburban west coast city”

Weekend Episodes FOR THE WIN!
Absolutely love everything you guys do. I’ve been listening to the podcast for a few months now and I’m trying to learn what I can to prepare to dive into my first deal. The variety of perspectives and strategies has been so valuable for someone like me who’s only 25, and still isn’t quite sure exactly what side of real estate they want to get into. Josh, Brandon and David’s ability to connect all the pieces has made the daunting subject of real estate so much easier to digest. I went back and started listening to the show from the very beginning a few weeks ago and began to hear the voice of Josh from Podcasts’ past, literally in my sleep, telling me to leave a review. I just saw the new addition of the weekend “mindset/skill” episodes and devoured the two currently posted. This finally pushed me to leave a review, I’m just so impressed. What a great way to round out the show as well as get to know Brandon and David a little better. Amazing. Thank you guys so much!

Ready, Set, FIRE
I met a man on an airplane when I was 20 who gave me the sage advice to stop worrying so much about choosing the “right” major in college because I would have at least 3 careers before I was finished. Well here I am, 32 years later, after a corporate career and then building a successful real estate sales team (which I still run) about to launch my third act: BRRRR investing. The knowledge I’ve gained from devouring these podcasts has given me the confidence and direction I need to get started. (I wish I had started 20 years ago, but better late than never, right?) Brandon and David are the real deal! Not only are they chock full of wisdom, but they are superb interviewers and have amazing chemistry. Thanks so much for hosting this podcast, guys! You are truly changing lives.

I’m not a new investor but I’m brand new to real estate investing. In fact I will not be purchasing my first home until next year so I knew it was time to educate myself. Before listening to the 4-5 podcasts I’ve heard on my way to work I was really paralyzed by all the things I did not understand about real estate (even just owning my first home let alone investing), but I feel like I have learned so much in these few podcasts I’ve consumed where information is being freely shared with people and inspiring normal people to understand that it’s all about WHY you do things in life and to choose your direction so once you’re on the road you can drive the right vehicle to your destination. For me I do think real estate will play a major role in the next 5 years of my life and beyond.

- 719: Future Millionaires: The Real Estate Investing Hurdle You MUST Get OverKnowing how to find real estate deals can be challenging for new and experienced investors. For those who want to build bigger portfolios beyond just buying single-family rental properties, finding multifamily, development, or perfect medium-term rental deals can be a struggle. You have to be in the know and have a network full of agents, brokers, lenders, and other investors who can throw deals your way, so you don’t have to dig through the scraps that bigger investors (or investment firms) have left behind. This is a struggle that all three of our ninety-day mentees have faced since we spoke to them last. We’ll be getting updates on all their situations in today’s episode as David and Rob work to get them to their next investments as soon as possible. First, we talk to Philip, who’s still struggling to find adequate land for his future resort. He’s successfully made one offer but has yet to receive a counter. Next, Wendy wants out of turnkey rentals and is looking into more cash-flow heavy real estate investments like medium-term rentals that can provide her the retirement she dreams of. Lastly, we talk to Danny, who’s struggling to connect the dots that will lead to his next property. As an introvert, finding contractors in the field has become challenging, although he has started to reach out to other investors he knows in his area. A common thread in this episode is that ALL our mentees are finding a pain point stopping them from reaching their next property. Of course, what they do next is entirely up to them, but you’ll hear case-by-case advice from David and Rob, which could also help you on your next deal! So if you’ve hit a roadblock on your path to real estate wealth, don’t give up—tune in! In This Episode We Cover: Purchasing raw land and the pros and cons of trying to buy what is worth developing Private money lending and raising private capital as a way to make more income on the side How to increase your real estate deal flow and get more properties (or parcels) sent to you The high-cash flow world of medium-term rental investing and why it may be worth converting your units How to find contractors, real estate agents, and other team members for your next investment Networking 101 and what introverts can do to build a list of other investors who can help them along their way And So Much More! - 718: BiggerNews: The State of Real Estate in 2023 and 3 Ways to Beat a Bear MarketMost 2023 housing market predictions sound like this, “ The sky is falling! Sell everything! Houses will be worth $1 next year! This is just like 2008!” Look at the track record of those who shill predictions like this. These are the same forecasters who have been predicting a crash will happen at some point over the last ten years. Now, with a whiff of fear in the air, mainstream real estate journalists will do anything they can to convince you we’re having a repeat of 2008. However, this is far from the truth. But how could we forecast the 2023 housing market without data? And where there’s data, there’s Dave Meyer, VP of Data and Analytics at BiggerPockets and host of the On the Market podcast. Dave and his team have recently released “ The 2023 State of Real Estate Investing Report ,” which gives all the housing market data you need to invest successfully in 2023. In it, Dave shares how the 2022 housing market flipped once the Fed raised rates, how supply and demand have been affected, and what we can expect for 2023. Dave will also go over the three investing strategies he feels are more appropriate for investing in 2023, including a completely passive way to invest, a cash flow and appreciation combo, and how buyers can take advantage of this market to get deals at a steep discount. While we can’t predict the future, we can give you our best insight into what you can do to build wealth in 2023. So turn off the mainstream fear forecasting and tune into real news designed to make you richer! In This Episode We Cover: Why 2023 is not a “normal” housing market and the details leading up to today’s state The “levers” that affect home prices and why 2023 is NOT the same as 2008 Seller’s vs. buyer’s markets and where prices are most expected to dip Homebuyer demand and how unaffordability has caused most buyers to sit on their hands Mortgage rate increases and how the Fed is using high rates to combat inflation The three strategies that work in today’s housing market and how to invest while others sit on the sidelines 2023 housing market predictions and when we could potentially see home prices bottom And So Much More! For the average American worker, this can be a slow grind, saving a few hundred dollars a month, hoping to be financially free at sixty-five so they can finally enjoy retirement. The problem? You spent three or four decades at a job, waiting to do what you want. If you’re going to crack the code to financial freedom, retire early , and live and work on your terms, you might want to follow Greg Cullen ’s strategy. So, when Greg was offered a full-time salary, he turned it down for a sales job with no cap on commissions, allowing him to save money at a far faster rate, and reach financial freedom well before the age of thirty. But Greg didn’t need some colossal empire of cash-flowing rentals. Instead, he’s financially free with only ten units, all of which he bought in under a decade. So how did someone like Greg, without real estate experience, scale his income up so fast? In this episode, you’ll learn what Greg did to purchase properties at lightning speed, the Chick-fil-A rule of real estate you should adopt, and how failing is the only successful way to hit financial freedom early. - 714: Seeing Greene: Outsourcing, Retiring with Real Estate, & Investing in CollegeWhat’s your real estate retirement plan ? How should you fund your rentals? And why is today’s housing market so hard to cash flow? These are just some of the questions that regular real estate investors ask themselves. In a high interest rate, low inventory environment like 2023, landlords need to find better deals, use better financing strategies, and look for different ways to profit, to turn their portfolios into passive income-generating machines. Welcome back to a Seeing Greene episode that has questions from all over the nation. Some investors wonder why their cash-on-cash return numbers look so bleak. Others are debating using a HELOC (home equity line of credit) to buy rentals, even as interest rates continue to rise steadily. You'll hear answers to those questions all while David touches on topics around buying for cash flow vs. appreciation, how to buy rental properties while in college, how to find off-market properties, and where to meet private money lenders! - 712: Has the Short-Term Rental Goldmine Run Dry?Short-term rentals can be categorized, at least at a surface level, as the “easiest” investments of 2021 and 2022. With low interest rates and a surge of post-pandemic tourism, new hosts were buying homes for cheap monthly payments, throwing some furniture in them, and making a six-figure return within a year of owning just one property. Naturally, this led more and more hosts to start building bigger vacation rental empires, buying as many properties as possible and inflating prices as a result. But, the boom in BnBs caught on quickly, and more investors began tackling the same strategy. Before long, there were more short-term rentals than ever, but the same number of guests occupied them. Now, short-term rental hosts are facing lower occupancy as they struggle to compete over which properties will get which guests. So, is this the end of the short-term rental industry, or is the data showing something completely different? We brought on Jamie Lane, Vice President of Research at AirDNA , to give us a glimmer of hope. Jamie knows short-term rental data better than anyone else. He knows which markets are growing, which are declining, which amenities get you the highest ROI, and why last-minute bookings aren’t a bad thing. He gives us a deep dive into what’s affecting the short-term rental market as a whole, whether it’s on a decline, and what hosts can do to beat out the competition when trying to fill their listings. In This Episode We Cover: The “BnBust” and why so many short-term rental hosts are facing low occupancy 2023 short-term rental predictions and the effect a recession could have on the industry The best short-term rental markets and which tourist cities will remain strong Short-term rental regulations and how they may be a good thing for existing hosts Last-minute bookings and using dynamic pricing to make these stays more profitable The top amenities guests want in their vacation rental in 2023 Superhost status and the massive boost in bookings it can lead to And So Much More! - 711: Is This the BIGGEST Multifamily Opportunity in 10 Years?Multifamily real estate investing was almost impossible to break into over the past few years. Even those that had been in the field for decades were finding it challenging to get offers accepted or deals underwritten. Investors were throwing in almost unbelievable amounts of non-refundable earnest money, going well over asking price and analyzing deals at lightning speed, which often led to mistakes, not more money. But the tables have turned, and now, thanks to high interest rates, the buyer is in the driving seat. And how could it be a multifamily episode without Andrew Cushman and Matt Faircloth? These two expert multifamily investors have been buying apartments for decades and helping others do the same! In this episode, Andrew and Matt break down what has gone on in the multifamily markets, why cap rates haven’t kept pace with interest rates, and what buyers can do now that sellers have lost most of their bargaining power. You’ll also get to hear their multifamily predictions for 2023, how far they expect prices to fall, and what you can do to start or scale your multifamily investing this year! Then, Andrew and Matt take questions from the BiggerPockets forums and live Q&As with new multifamily investors. These topics range from property classes explained to raising private capital from investors (who aren’t your mom) and the risks and rewards of investing in smaller markets. Whether you’re interested in duplexes, triplexes, or two-hundred-unit apartment complexes, Andrew and Matt have answers for you! In This Episode We Cover: The mortgage and cap rate battle and how the two are unbalanced in 2023 The multifamily buyer’s market and why now is the time to aggressively chase deals 2023 housing market predictions and what multifamily investors can expect How to start, or scale, your multifamily real estate portfolio this year Long-distance real estate investing and assessing a property market from afar How to raise money from private investors and expanding your network The hidden dangers behind investing in a small, tertiary markets And So Much More! For many investors, turning their single-family home into assisted or senior living seems like an impossible task. Don’t you need to have a medical background? Do you need a license? Can anyone do it? Instead of getting caught in analysis paralysis, Antoinette Munroe looked at the numbers, decided to take the jump, and hasn’t looked back. And after hearing her story, you might do the same! Antoinette found financial freedom in just a few years with vacation rental investing. She used the game-changing strategy of house hacking combined with short-term rentals to profit over a thousand dollars a month, all while living in her own house. She slowly started building her empire, buying one property a year while working towards financial independence. She reached her ultimate goal, retiring early after only a few years of investing. Then, things started to change. With new regulations rolling in, Antoinette had a large slice of her business about to be shut down or restricted at best. - 708: Future Millionaires: The 90-Day Mentorship to Grow Your Real Estate PortfolioThere’s a big difference between a real estate portfolio and having a few rental properties. Casual real estate investors can slowly start stacking one or two units a year and eventually end up with financial freedom, but often with stress and headaches that match their cash flow. Other investors, like David Greene and Rob Abasolo, take a more goal-oriented approach, building millions of dollars of wealth in under a decade with a portfolio that is self-sustaining, not self-defeating. Our goal here at BiggerPockets is to help YOU find financial freedom by following the same steps as investors like David and Rob. In the same spirit, David and Rob have decided to sit down with three mentees and give them one-on-one coaching to get them to their ultimate goals. These mentees are all at different stages of their investing journey, focusing on different strategies with different properties. First, we talk to Philip, a school teacher who dreams of building out glampsites and campsites , all while developing cash-flowing retreat centers. Secondly, we talk to Wendy, an investor stuck in the “ turnkey trap ” who wants to escape her job and the low cash flow of “easy” investing. Lastly, we talk to Danny, a multifamily investor who wants to scale faster to regain his time. All of these mentees have the same goal: financial freedom . If you’re trying to find your way out of the rat race and into the wealth-building realm of real estate, these are the episodes for you. We’ll continuously be checking in on our guests, giving them action items, and helping them work through any roadblocks that come their way. So stick around for the journey; you might hit financial freedom faster! In This Episode We Cover: Investing in glamping, camping, and retreat centers and why developing may be a costly move How to find a real estate agent/broker who can source your PERFECT property (even if it’s VERY niche) The “ turnkey trap” and why easier investing often leads to lower returns Why working in real estate as you build your portfolio is a cheat code for investors House hacking, rental arbitrage, and creative ways to rent your properties for more How to scale from small to large multifamily investing and how to find your own mentor And So Much More! - 707: 1031 Exchange Deep Dive: What to Know and Mistakes You MUST AvoidThe 1031 exchange is a strategy that helps investors build more passive income, with fewer properties, all while avoiding the tax man. While many real estate investors know about this strategy, only a few of them know it well enough to pull it off. The rules are simple; sell a property, buy another property with the proceeds, and pay no capital gains tax . But, this is far easier said than done, and it’s much easier to make mistakes than most people think. Even our real estate hero, David Greene, had a 1031 exchange go awry. To clear up the misconceptions, highlight the common mistakes, and guide us to tax-advantaged freedom, we’ve brought on 1031 exchange expert, Ryan Finch, to the show to share everything he knows about this misunderstood, often misused strategy. Ryan is a real estate investor at heart, house hacking as a sophomore in college to live for free. After working at multiple commercial real estate and development companies, he got the itch to start investing heavier himself and help others propel their wealth. Now, Ryan works to help real estate investors and everyday homeowners make the most out of their equity. Ryan has unlocked the tools that have allowed those with home equity to build passive income streams, buy bigger, better properties, and reduce much of their landlord burden, all in a single transaction. If you’ve been sitting on some post-2020 equity, this episode will teach you how to use it as fuel for your financial freedom fire, all while ditching the tax bill that comes with selling! In This Episode We Cover: The 1031 exchange explained and using it to avoid taxes (legally) Converting home equity into cash flow and when selling makes more sense than refinancing How both the government and real estate investors benefit from the 1031 exchange What to know before you use a 1031 exchange and the three rules you MUST pay attention to 1031 tax benefits, depreciation, and cost segregation to massively lower your tax bill The most common mistakes investors make when doing their first 1031 exchange And So Much More! - 705: Portfolio Architecture 101: The 5 Keys to Building a Financial FORTRESS (Part 1)You may know how to build a real estate portfolio , but how do you build an unshakeable one? Most real estate investors think that buying a few dozen dirt-cheap houses is all they need to do to make millions and live a life full of passive income. This is far from reality, as your entire net worth could come crashing down as soon as a housing market crash, correction, or new rental policy comes into play. So how do you build a sustainable real estate portfolio—one that will grow your wealth even during the worst of economic times? David Greene has touched on this topic numerous times, often referring to “ portfolio architecture ” as one of the most crucial aspects of building wealth through real estate. This strategy not only helps you grow wealth but keep it even when everything goes wrong. Don’t believe us? Listen to David and Rob’s individual stories on what happened to their portfolios during the 2020 lockdowns and how quickly they bounced back while other investors had to completely rebuild. In part one of this two-part podcast, David and Rob will go through the most common weaknesses in their real estate portfolios, what could cause everything to come crashing down, and the five most important keys to portfolio architecture. They also talk about diversification and how having just one type of real estate in one location could be a huge mistake. - 704: The Risks and Rewards of Investing in Raw LandLand flipping is an unusual real estate investment. Unlike all the rest, there are no utilities, renovations, or tenants to take care of. It’s really as simple as buying a piece of land with high demand and finding a seller who either wants to build or sit on it. But can it be that easy? If land flipping is low cost, low risk, and high reward, why aren’t more investors buying raw land? What are everyday real estate investors like us missing that land flippers like Paul Hersko and Willie Goldberg understand? Paul and Willie, like many investors, didn’t start out in real estate. Willie worked in investment banking while Paul was busy running an ecommerce business. Both were feeling unfulfilled by their work and wanted to build something bigger and better on their own. After a casual skydiving session, Paul and Willie realized they'd be perfect partners together, deciding that buying, selling, and financing raw land was what interested them most. Now they’re making massive multiples on literal dirt, selling plots online to investors and retail buyers who want to own real estate without the big banks, down payments, and high interest rates. Paul and Willie have built an entire business around these types of deals, and even though land is low-cost, you'd be surprised by how much they make off of a simple land sale. This could be the best low-risk real estate investing out there! In This Episode We Cover: The benefits of buying and selling raw land and why it’s far less stressful than regular rental property investing Flipping land and why offering owner financing almost always gets the deal done Building a scalable system for your real estate business and the crucial KPIs to track The risks behind buying raw land and pitfalls to look out for when getting started Why banks refuse to lend on raw land and using the lack of loans as an opportunity The one US state that Paul and Willie refuse to buy land in And So Much More!
