Deep and Generous!
This podcast shares a wealth of knowledge for all things esoteric! I’m shocked by how generous the show is with sharing its resources as communities seem to hoard their gifts these days for profit. Amanda has such a beautiful way of expressing herself through an array of topics. So grateful to have found this show and the Weird Circle.

BTW has been my favorite study partner as I’ve delved into my spiritual craft. The wisdom gained from listening to Amanda, Carolyn, and thoughtful guests has been enormously useful in carving my own path and being confident in my practice. Also, shamelessly in love with and inspired by Amanda’s book “Initiated.” Please continue on, my dearest witchy elders!! 🔮❤️🔥 ~Mary

The best tarot podcast 🙏🏽
I LOVE this podcast! For the last few weeks I have been doing a daily card pull & then listen to the corresponding episode to dive deeper into the meaning of the card. Between the worlds has truly deepened my practice, and my understanding of the tarot. Amanda is so knowledgeable & easy to listen to as well. 10/10 recommend ✨

My heart is full & I am grounded
The Phyllis Curott episode was the first time I’ve listened to this podcast (although I have been subscribed for about a month). I honestly have a hard time really actively listening, mostly because I have children running around all day, while I try to get work done. My mind is always elsewhere and I have to re-listen a few times just to pick up a lot of what was said. However, this episode was so engaging and interesting and I was completely lost and yet found in the words of Phyllis Curott. I was able to block out the noise and truly receive what I was needing to hear. And the hostess, Amanda, has such a soothing and dreamy voice that makes you smile immediately when she speaks. I felt at peace and full of joy. I realized my mind has been calm since pressing play. It was the first episode I heard, but it surely isn’t the last! I highly recommend!

Amanda is a gracious and erudite host, wide ranging in her interests and touchstones. Great guests, provocative conversations, resource-rich and also all the extra goodies, like ceremony and instruction. Feels like I’ve dropped into a juicy conversation and was invited to stay, learn and explore.

Beautiful imagery
I am still in the process of listening to this (# 64) podcast, but thought you’d like to know just how right on you are with your intuition about springs being Source. In Arabic and Farsi they use the word ‘ayn with means eye but it also means spring (as in water) and Source! So there you have it. Perhaps you already knew that, but just in case you didn’t… By the way, yours is the most SATISFYING podcast I think I’ve every encountered. So rich with literary references but that alone would not be enough for me. You are a poet and a painter of passionate, perceptive, and powerful images splashed onto the screen of my imagination with playful pleasure prodding my pristine inner child to sheer delight! (I couldn’t resist)

My Favorite Podcast!!
I’ve been listening to Amanda and Carolyn’s podcast since it was Strange Magic. Between the Worlds continues to prove how much care and thought they put into every episode. I love the fact that Amanda pulls in mythology, pop-culture, psychology, art, poetry, music and nature into the episodes. She discusses so many facets of each card! And I love her voice, it’s soothing and sweet and she gets so excited when she talks about the things that interest her, that apply to the specific card that she’s talking about. Carolyn creates these beautiful, ethereal pieces of music that reflect the discussion of each episode and it further enhances the witchy, creative vibe. They make such a lovely team and truly, you learn so much by listening. It makes me so happy that there are open and loving witches out there like Caroline and Amanda who generously share their ideas and knowledge with the world!

Great introduction to Tarot
I bought my first Tarot deck last spring and my sister sent me a link to this podcasts thinking that it might be helpful. She was right, this was truly wonderful. I have purchased books that I have heard mentioned, (including Amanda's book - I bought one for my sister too!) I love taking these Tarot journeys with Amanda and Carolyn . I am grateful for the preparation and research they do for each episode. The variety of information makes the podcast so interesting to listen to. The guests have been amazing too. Thank you for this all that you do and I can't wait for the next podcast!

Love
Amanda Yates Garcia seems like a gorgeous human inside and out. It is truly a pleasure to listen to her speak. She speaks about the tarot with a real depth of knowledge, and it feels like she loves the subject and all things witchy. I also read her book, and I highly recommend it. All in all, I love this subject, love the energy Amanda brings to discussing it, and have enjoyed every minute I’ve spent listening to this podcast. This podcast space feels deeply welcoming and magical ❤️

Great queer anti-capitalist trip
I have learned so much from Amanda (and Sarah) through this show's evolution. Tarot has become so much more accessible to me with their help! Great book recommendations for your mystical journey throughout too. I love the folklore and pop culture sections of the show, those anecdotes really stick with me and help me retain the tarot lessons I've learned. Also love the occasional random special guest episodes with less structure, always insightful anti-colonial/anti-capitalist guests. Appreciate Amanda's honesty as she works through her white/cis privilege in a public way and encourages white listeners to unpack our colonial histories.

Affirming, Delicious and Super Healing
Amanda’s weaving of myth, history, modern witchcraft, spiritual inquiry and masterful storytelling as a way to understand and work with the Tarot is astonishing. This work is both direct and fully mystical, accessible, sultry, and crazy affirming for those of us called to the work of re-enchantment or those longing for re-enchantment in their own lives. The Universe is a story, as they say, and every episode is a detailed example of exactly how… such rich medicine for these immense times.

Best Witchy Podcast I’ve Found!
I’ve listened to a lot of different witch podcasts. Like, a lot. This is the only one that has really taught me anything about the craft, tarot, paganism, kinds of practice, etc. She doesn’t waste words, and yet she is so generous with them. She is endearing, intelligent, knowledgeable, and actually sharing her knowledge instead of just shooting the breeze or trying to seem woke. This is the genuine article, baby witches! So glad I found it!

Learning so much & feel supported in interpreting for myself
I love the roundabout way I found this podcast JUST when a desire to have a connection to the tarot blossomed in me - one that goes beyond pick-a-card-look-it-up-online. I both learn so much from each episode AND love how I’m encouraged to interpret the cards for myself. Such a robust resource of the traditional meanings of cards and re-visioning of the cards. Thank you so much for the time you put into making this podcast! Update in 2021: This podcast just keeps getting better! I love the format this season with some in depth education up top and a conversation that brings in lots of perspective to round it out. Super excited to learn about the court cards with you all.

This podcast is my main source of connection to learning about the tarot as I don’t always have the time to dive in deep and research on my own. Sighhh
In today’s world, so many people are waiving their “acceptance” flags like well achieved accomplishments. Preaching equality and love all around, yet Pagan, Wiccan, and anything of the like are scoffed at, feared, or belittled. Leaving us enchanted peeps whispering in corners and digging for knowledge with the fervor of a seasoned archeologist. Some of the oldest, I repeat OLDEST belief systems being categorized as “new wave” nearly stifles my breath. These ladies and their eclectic collection of guests is a long awaited sigh of relief for me. A release……and much needed embrace in the same instance. If anyone reading this review feels like you want to reclaim old traditions please press that play button. I am so thankful I did. I can’t even express with words the sense of belonging I’ve experienced listening. Thanks ladies for making it available❤️

Best Tarot podcast for the thinking witch
This is not just a tarot and witchcraft podcast. It’s philosophy and ethics and transpersonal politics. It’s like the best kind of dorm talks from back in college. Like a dialectic with Burning Man at your grandmother’s kitchen table. The guests bring diverse wisdom and offer fascinating and memorable interpretations of the cards, and Amanda holds it all together, mindful of the novice listener (which I especially appreciate). It’s deep thoughts and hard questions and a balance of tough and restorative love. It listens like a good story with a moral that actually applies to a real, modern, immediate life. Much thanks to Amanda and Carolyn for all the work that goes into this! I’m delighted to lend support via the Jupiter level subscription. 🖤

Between The Worlds Podcast is such a joy for me to listen to. I feel like I am experiencing the worlds of magic, myth, tarot and witchcraft I know are true but not reflected in dominant culture that surrounds me. Amanda’s podcasts are touchstone. Magic to my ears
If I could dream up the perfect podcast, it would be this one! Each episode is packed with an insane amount of information on all things Tarot and magic. Amanda and Carolyn are magic to this world. There are tons of gifts throughout the podcast including songs you can use in ritual - not to mention links and resources in the show notes anytime anything is referenced. I recommend this podcast for beginners to experienced practitioners, and to writers, lovers of history and magic. The is THE public library of tarot, and the best part is that you can listen anytime. ALSO - If you haven’t joined the podcast’s Weird Circle membership, I would highly recommend! There are magical workshops every couple months and a tarot studio where we join together to practice tarot. <3

Informative, entertaining, conversational
i don’t remember how I came across this podcast, but it was when I was beginning to deepen into my own tarot practice… I’m still a newbie and so I was looking for resources to guide me - Between the Worlds became my tether and touchstone for many reasons: their guests, their way of story telling, putting BIPOC and all-genders into their conversations… language is power and as a brown queer man it was cool to feel like I was welcomed and seen. Between the Worlds is part grad school, part storytime, all amazing. The episodes are structured and organized in a way that satisfies my Capricorn self and filled with information so much so that I’ve listened to the same episode many times over - taking notes and expanding my research based on their footnotes and recommendations. Entertaining, informative, and conversational like I wrote in the title. Brava. Thank you for this, and I LOOOOVE the music (which I sing along to). Sending you kindness, abundance and great things.

Illuminating
Updated: I’ve been listening and relistening while I was waiting for the pentacles season to come out. I amazed by how much I get from each episode on the first listen AND successive listens. It seems like there’s always something waiting for me in this podcast! I love this podcast. I’ve learned so much about the tarot from everyone involved, from way back in the Strange Magic days to now. The conversations and observations are great from hosts and guests alike. I love Amanda’s calm, sweet voice and am dismayed by people’s nasty comments about it. Accents should be enjoyed for their differences. Making disparaging comments about them says more about the classism of the complainant than anything about Amanda and is quite simply rude. Even if you don’t read tarot podcast is full of really interesting knowledge!

Years-long listener continuously reaping benefits
Amanda is an incredible witch and her show has been helping me understand and process not only the tarot but also witchcraft and life itself… I remember her conversations with many guests vividly; when I listen to her show, something about the alchemy of her languorous voice and her content bring me almost to a trance in which I am completely present to the information being presented and allows it to truly seed in my brain. I’ve listened to Amanda since her previous pod, read her book and attended many of her virtual rituals during COVID lockdowns. She truly is a leader, visionary, healer. Carolyn Pennypacker Riggs’s music complements the show perfectly- haunting and beautiful, and she produces the show to perfection. Thank you Amanda and Carolyn- I look forward to the listen every week.

I am not a witch and am just learning about tarot, kind of dipping a toe in so to speak. a curated, cunning, concious compass - & a soothing lullaby for a grrl feeling alone in the struggle
I don't know how to describe my feelings about this show in a way to give it the justice it has served in my life. I discovered this show in late 2019 and since then it has served as a balm to my wounds and a holder of my hand and a pat on my behind to continue. I can't describe it - the knowing of other people doing "the work", i was finally able to let go of the feeling of me having to do it all by myself. a release. A trust bond. Like sisters, brushing and braiding my hair. Showing me that the world I've been working for and dreaming of is being woven around me by others and they are excited ! and smart! and loving! and "armed".. <3 It has allowed my work and art and activism new perspectives. It has challanged me to not judge the "american voices" i so scrutinize (i'm an ex-pat living in berlin) and i had to do some serious work around it. and it softened me in a way i am so greatful for. and opened me up to seeing community (where i live and work) in a different way. it has made me miss more and more to be in my "country of origin" to be around this work that i was born to do. and just hearing it gives me a sense of home. this is long! i wanted to wrtie this in an email. i love how this is curated. i love the grace of it. i feel the work behind it. la force! its absolutely disarming. that is the greatest magic of all. so much love to you womxn. grace grace grace and love from berlin. teal

Unparalleled
I feel so lucky to have stumbled upon this podcast. I can not give Amanda enough stars. The encyclopedic format of the podcast (it goes through each suit, then by each card number...forgive me if my terminology is not correct) -- not only allows Amanda to delve so deeply each of the cards' historical aspects, but the format also opens it up for her to bring in her own personal experiences, as well as her EXPERTISE. Her knowledge of folklore, and how ancient stories relate to the messages within tarot, offers insights and perspectives into the cards that is truly unparalleled. This podcast truly remarkable.

Richness of learning
Amanda Yates weaves her storytelling skills with sensuous ease, nourishing energy and consistent caring for the collective healing. I’ve learned a lot through each episode and enhanced my love and understanding of Tarot through this podcast’s guidance. Additionally, select guests are invited to add their perspective and in depth experience to a certain card/topic, and Amanda has cultivated mindful conversational skills that invite you to sit a while and listen in, preferably with a cup of tea as I like it :) Other elements I like: the editing is fabulous, the “accents” or special sound effects that punctuate an episode depending on what is discussed (swords or coin sounds for example). Its the little things like that that keep me coming back for more. Icing on the cake are the various opportunities to find out about her latest workshops, Lives on IGram or other such treats to enjoy and learn more. At any part of your journey, Between the Worlds is quite a gem to add to your list. Enjoy ;)

I’m not a tarot person but I get so much insight from Amanda’s teachings each epidode. She muses on the themes and messages of each card, then dives deep into modern implications and also history and mythology. It’s fun, informative and spiritual.

Best spiritual/tarot/witch/life podcast ever!!
UPDATED: I’ve been listening to BTW since it was Strange Magic, and I can say wholeheartedly that this is the best podcast I’ve ever listened to and the only one I’ve stuck with for YEARS. Each season is better than the one before it, which is saying a lot bc they’re all excellent! But Amanda and Carolyn put so much love into this work and really strive to improve and evolve and listen to their listeners feedback. The wisdom they share has deeply impacted my spiritual practice and their guests are now some of my favorite witches to follow. Please please please give this podcast a listen—I promise you that it will radiate straight through your ears into your heart!! Whatever your interest is in tarot and/or the occult, this pod is for you!!! Amanda’s storytelling and wisdom is straight up spiritual nourishment and Carolyn’s gorgeous musical accompaniments always hit me right in the heart. In addition to teaching me about the tarot, this pod has introduced me to so many incredible spiritual folks (the guests!). Bottom line, subscribe!!!

Something about this podcast.
It hits all my goodie buttons. The nerd and the weirdo buttons. It’s poetic and dreamy but grounded and accessible. Amanda is clearly an academic but she always brings that juicy, deep dark energy into it. Witches if you want history, activism, poetry, tarot, astrology, goddesses and all sorts of magical workings, this is the podcast for you. ✨

My Gateway into Tarot
Between the Worlds has been an irreplaceable resource for my study of the Tarot. Each episode is a wealth of knowledge on the cards and the esoteric. I leave each episode with new books, people to look up, and most importantly a new understanding of the cards. My relationship with the Tarot wouldn't be the same without this podcast! Def recommend

A Re-Updated Review!
The deep dives into the minor cards have been amazing. The guests are fantastic and bring such beautiful insight to the cards, in ways I wouldn’t have come to on my own. I also love Amanda’s interview style, enthusiasm, and the clear joy she has when celebrating a guest, and what they bring to the discussion. ... absolutely loving the depth and detail given to individual cards 🖤🖤🖤 Just wanted to add that I’ve SO loved these suit-focused journey & the way myth, archetype, literature, etc. is brought in ✨ (@softerpath)

I’m always happy to journey Between the Worlds
A wonderful companion to my tarot practice! I’ll pull a card for myself, asking spirit what message I need to hear, then listen to the corresponding Between the Worlds episode. Without fail, each episode brings me to the epiphany spirit was calling for, while simultaneously grounding me in the history, mythology, and modern socio-cultural-political take-aways of the card. Thrilled about Pentacles season, and would be so very happy for another pass through the Major Arcana - I really prefer the energy Amanda brings as a solo host! Also, highly recommend the audio version her book Initiated: Memoir of a Witch. Her narration is truly magical ✨ (Thanks host Amanda & producer Carolyn* - my life is greatly enriched by your work!) *apologies if I got the spelling wrong!

I enjoy Amanda’s take on the tarot and witchcraft so much, I’ve learned so much in listening to all the episodes so far, under both banners. Also a lot of Amanda’s life and cultural experiences are similar to mine and that always makes me smile. (Oh to be a young drifter in the UK again, too cool for Nirvana. Actually I prefer myself now much better as I am sure she does as well). Her point of view is helpful, insightful, thoughtful, and kind. A great gift. No pretense!

I read the statement, and have been reading Between the lines the past year (no pun intended😂). I didn’t even need to hear about FPPs accusations. Going back to old episodes you can hear the superiority complex in FPPs tone. So nothing in the statement surprised me! I love Carolyn and Amanda so much and am so glad they’ve decided to clear the air and set the record strait. And keep making my favorite podcast! It’s like my witchy lifeline!

Thank you Amanda and Carolyn for bringing us deep insight into the tarot that is informative and accessible to all. As one practicing tarot for decades, you bring new connections and illuminations. Look forward to each episode!!
This podcast is many wonderful and magical things. The reference material alone is huge! But the reflection Amanda and CPR provide the community with is magic all on its own. They provide pop cultural, personal, and literary perspectives at each tarot card, and while unpacking this, guide listeners through ways to overcome negative thought patterns, deal with and embrace conflicts to make room for growth, and they provide a non-judgemental, nerdy safes pace for honest conversation about real issues. Issues that most people think they are alone in because most find them hard to discuss. I always look forward to listening to each episode and considering why the information came into my life. Keep it up, Carolyn and Amanda!! Your work matters.

Priceless and valuable content but regionalisms and awful music make it hard to listen
This podcast offers tons of in-depth information on Tarot and provides detailed insight on each card, something I truly appreciate and believe is valuable for tarot readers and seekers of all levels. Unfortunately, there are a few aspects of this podcast that make it really hard to listen to. First, the original music is annoyingly corny and hard to listen through- it would be so much easier to listen without it, i find it to be a distraction. Secondly, if you’re not from the West Coast of the US you might find Amanda’s voice to be an unavoidable regionalism. Her vocal fry is almost like nails on a chalk board and I find it to be another distraction. This review may sound harsh and I’m not at all trying to be mean. I believe the content of this podcast is unlike any other and truly valuable, I just believe it could be so much better without the distractions. I find myself listening for the content but struggling to enjoy it.

Addictive self care routine
I use the world addictive because when I discovered this podcast which was in March 2020, I simply have not been able to stop listening to it until I was done with all the episodes. Fortunately , they keep coming! It became a part of my self care daily routine when the world as we knew it started falling apart. This podcast lured me deeper into studying tarot, doing readings for myself and others, using tarot as my personal growth practice, learning about archetypes and staying sane during that time. This podcast (in its older and new form alike) continues to be a part of my life, my tarot study and a big inspiration. I very much appreciate all the work that everyone involved from the beginning have put into creating this comprehensive tarot and self care magic study. And I also appreciate the wonderful selection of all the guests speakers. Thank you for expanding my world in so many different ways. (I also loved Amanda’s book which I gifted to others since, Sara’s tarot online workshop , and so much more that unfolded from listening to you ...) Much love to you all. And thank you ❤️🌚

A must-listen for all tarot lovers.
There are so many wonderful things I can say about this podcast, and after two years of listening to it and recommending it to literally everyone I’m finally leaving a review! Every conversation that Amanda has feels like having an amazing coffee date with your best friend. It’s expansive, enriching, validating, and you will laugh just as much as you cry! The format of the podcast has helped me as I approach the cards in my own practice when I am stuck (What is this card at it’s best energy? It’s worst? What piece of media can I relate it to?). Relating the tarot to all aspects of life with the variety of guests that appear demonstrates the versatility of the tarot. The 78 cards manage to encapsulate the full spectrum of human experiences and each episode helps me not just in my tarot reading, but in life. This is hands down my favorite podcast, and I hold a piece of gratitude in my heart for all that are involved in making this podcast happen.

Amazing Amanda etcetera
I can’t believe anyone would write a one star review on this podcast. Bc a previous host left ? Something is seriously wrong there because in its current form it is incredibly deep content on so many levels - spiritual, emotional and intellectual. The subjects are archaic but the insights are novel, and the host, Amanda, gracefully makes esoteric and complex subjects seem easier to understand and applicable. She also has a great way of leading discussions so they don’t veer too far off track- something I usually hate about podcasters. This is truthfully the best resource in tarot I have ever found and I wish Amanda Oracle would publish a book on Tarot!! I’m so thankful for such enriching, enlightened content .

Strange Magic was wonderful and should have been left as what it was since it was a collaboration
I stopped listening to this podcast shortly after it was rebranded from Strange Magic as Sarah’s POV and approach to the tarot was the big draw for me. It felt weird that the Strange Magic podcast wasn’t just left as it was - a finished project - but instead renamed and continued on without her, and it seems it was done to keep the community that had been built around SM. Now I hear how it ended and I wish that there could be kindness in properly crediting compensating the collaborated content, as that is what SM was, and to just rebrand it without her feels shady.

not the same/Sarah’s work should be credited
After the original podcast disjointed I was really bummed out because I enjoyed what the two hosts created & it’s because of Sarah’s energy + presence that I became a listener of Strange Magic. It felt really odd for a lot of reasons, but one in particular is that one day Strange Magic disappeared from my feed & was replaced by this. I had no idea what actually happened & felt it suspicious that it seemed the podcast was simply rebranded. I think I only listened to the episode of BTW with Lindsay Mack, my deeply adored tarot mentor, & I only listened because value + admire her spiritual & business practices. I finally made the decision to unfollow this podcast & it’s remaining host on social media when I was able to learn the truth that was hidden from the audience. It’s a shame that this happened & I wish that Sarah’s work is compensated for + rights given back to the content she created.

Love the variety of guests
....and the different perspectives that get shared in the conversations. Right now it’s the 9 of Wands episode that’s really hitting me bc that card has jumped/fallen/popped out for me 3 times very recently and it’s super helpful to have my understanding of its breadth and possibilities be expanded by each of the women speaking. Also have to say, I consistently note that Amanda and her guests voice mutual admiration and affection, which I think is an important model of how we can affirm and lift each other up. We really all need to be lifting each other up these days.

Great resource
My review. But first, a story: I was gifted my first ever tarot deck on New Years from my sister-in-law, and she highly recommended this podcast for me to learn the cards and other information. Separately, a friend who is a witch gave me the book Initiated to read. The first episode I listened to was the same day I finished Amanda's book, and I had to pause the podcast when I figured it out because I was so excited. My husband and I both really enjoyed her book, and the episodes are soothing to listen to and incredibly informative. I'm so thankful it exists! It has deepened my knowledge on so many cards, and though the episodes are long and sometimes dense (as in, filled with a lot of information) there are usually key things I connect with for each card that I remember easily every time I pull it or see it. I tried to listen to them while doing other activities but have found that I'd much rather devote all my attention to them. Now I take an hour or so and sit with a notebook to take notes. It's easy to have on in the background (even if on accident, like listening while driving or walking and you realize you stopped fully listening) because their voices are so calming and beautiful, but they have a lot to offer in intelligence and insight so devoting some time to actively listen is important. 5/5 stars!

What a great podcast! Thank you for putting this out in the world! What happened?
As a listener of Strange Magic, I’m left wondering what happened to the other podcast host and really missing the specific, critical social justice lens she brought to tarot, spirituality, and magic. The way that SM ended felt a little off to me. I tried to listen to this new podcast as it kept the same audience of subscribers, but it didn’t sit right. To me it feels like a lot of ego and cult of personality stuff with the remaining host. I miss the other host from SM!

Sadly, it’s just not that great anymore
I used to love listening but now that Sarah is gone something is off. It’s not as engaging or enjoyable. I also use to take the classes when Sarah was there and really enjoyed them. I signed up for the latest offering & it fell flat... it is not worth the steep price. I would not advise purchasing. I guess i would just maybe listen to the free podcast tbh. I hope Sarah returns or starts her own podcast. She has specific way of conveying information and clearly knows so much. I feel like she has done the work and is humble. It’s weird they don’t really address why she left and they probably should cause the quality has been affected greatly.

I was so excited to see a new episode on the Ace of Wands today! I just love this podcast so much. There’s so much deep and powerful knowledge about symbolism in every episode. I love the active acknowledgement of the so many connections between concepts across different spiritual perspectives. A shift
Speaking honestly, I prefer Amanda as the sole host. Something about Sarah’s habit of repeatedly responding to Amanda with “correct” was so bothersome. It happened more often in earlier episodes and mercifully became less frequent, but that power dynamic thing always felt off. Parting ways seemed to have served them both. Personally, I’m uninterested in a public statement rehashing whatever drama happened or not between two white women. There is more than enough going on in the larger world that needs our care and attention right now.

Where did Sarah go?
I’m curious what went down that sarah is no longer hosting this podcast which she started? Why did she leave? Is this ever going to be addressed or a statement given or is this some form of erasure going on? Something feels off about her just disappearing off the podcast when to me it felt like this podcast was truly a collaboration and should not exist unless both Sarah and Amanda are hosting it as intended...why wouldn’t you just start your own but I can see that you wouldn’t want to give up the following that the ORIGINAL podcast built, that Sarah helped build, and this feels like stealing to me. Like whatever went down this is some shady business going on here, and more people need to start questioning what’s happening on this podcast behind the scenes...

Needs balance, but enlightening
Amanda is not afraid to go deep on all sorts of more “woowoo” topics which I think is great, but I do feel an absence of critical discourse on the cards in the new format. I’d love to see another cohost added that adds more counterpoints.

I asked in a Facebook group for recommendations on a podcast that walks through the Tarot deck in a narrative arc to help me absorb the card meanings as a unified story rather than seeing them so separately, and of the recommendations I received, this is the first I tried. I’m obsessed. I’m so glad I’m so early on in the show because I have two years worth of episodes to binge!

Expand your practice!
This is by far my favorite podcast. Amanda is so well read and the depth of experience that she brings to the show is unparalleled. However, she is not simply speaking from her experieince, she is a skillful interviewer and cares deeply for the guests' perspectives on her show. I learn so much from listening to this, and it inspires me to expand my own practice. A must listen!

Enchanting, a balm for the soul
I just spent a couple hours in my apartment with incense and candles, drawing, painting, and listening to your two lovely, calming voices, and your wisdom and grace and compassion just flooding my space and my soul, and the craziness of the world and everything going on in it, all my fear and anxiety, just fell away. I've been listening to you ladies for a while now, but I'm extra grateful for your podcast today. Thank you, so much, for what you do, and what you give to the world.

Missing Sarah!
I’ve been a fan since season one, and I’ve always really loved the show! The new format this season with just Amanda is still really great (love you, Amanda!), but I can’t help but miss the banter with Sarah! I also kind of miss the focus on the individual card.. some of the episodes kind of move away from the card and its historical and mythological meanings. Still a fan and still going to listen, but I definitely miss Sarah’s perspectives too!

I found this podcast from a Facebook group. It’s been beautiful and gratifying. I have begun the self love spell discussed in a recent episode and the embrace it’s brought is so kind. This podcast has been so helpful, healing even. The acceptance and live felt in the words is so strong!

I was so bummed when Sarah left this podcast and it changed names/formats BUT I’m newly in love with Amanda’s insight, Carolyn’s delightfully mischievous voice (see also: “mood farts”), and guests like Jade who are willing to bring neurodiversity into a conversation about emotional intelligence. This podcast has kept me afloat in the most absolute garbage time of my life. Keep it coming, dears!

thank you for keeping it going all of the episodes have been amazing!! Accessibility!
It truly amazes me at the amount of incredible no-cost content provided by the evolution of this podcast. I could say so many glowing things about the material in each delightful & thoughtful episode with these (entertaining!) experts, but as a fellow artist, I’m most grateful for the massive amount of work involved. I always like to solemnly say to creators after excellent shows, “Thank you for all the emails it took to make this happen.” And here, not only that sentiment applies, but thank you for the DECADES of training and readings it took to make your discussion effortless. Goddess Bless y’all and make your books sell billions! Ashé!

Don’t hate on corporate witches
I love this podcast, but am feeling defensive and othered by the negative way you talked about corporate workers in the 3 of cups episode. Witches also work for corporations, and most of the time we already don’t fit in at work (though lovely exceptions do exist). Please leave space for us in your artsy, non-traditional world. We are also hustling and trying to stay sane and aligned. 💗

A Comprehensive View, Seasons 1-3
I stumbled onto this podcast in the summer of 2019. I was going through a super transitional time in my life, and part of that was getting reconnected with my spirituality. I found Sarah and Amanda through an Instagram page that I follow (Haute Macabre), who happened to follow the podcast. By the time I signed up for the podcast they had already finished their second season. There was a lot of content for me to listen to and I was excited to get started. Season 1 was really well done but you could tell that Amanda and Sarah were trying to find their groove. Their rapport was spontaneous and warm. They prepared content but also spoke off the cuff. By the second season their interaction has gotten into a comfortable rhythm and Carolyn was experimenting with music tracks and sound effects. Season 2 was dotted with adjacent subjects, that while not specifically tarot, still related to tarot, magic, witchcraft and occult philosophy. It seemed to hit a perfect stride. Then season 3 kicked off and although it is more polished, it’s as if Sarah and Amanda are recording in different rooms at different times. It’s taken on more of an instructive tone as opposed to a conversational tone and it feels less personal somehow. The content is still great, but what made me keep coming back- the feeling of listening in on a conversation between two deeply knowledgeable practicing occultists and tarot mavens that are both colleagues and friends has definitely shifted to something a little more manufactured. This won’t keep me away, but I do hope it gets back to its roots💗

A much needed tonic for the heart
The guided heart mediation in episode #38 is exactly what I needed. I’ve learned that the heart has a language of its own and if I slow down and listen, it will gently tell me exactly what it needs to be vibrant and grow. I have a warmth and softness inside my heart that I’ve never felt before and suddenly want to share with others. The walls have started to crumble. I can’t thank you enough.

Hi Amanda, I’m so happy I “chanced upon” your podcast! This episode (#40) on the coming Winter Solstice cracked my heart wide open this morning. You, and many others: Lindsay Mack @wildsoultarot, Pam Grossman @phantasmaphile & @thewitchwave, Ashleah Walker @ceremony_dc, and others closer by and more familiar, are helping me bring a beautiful and empowering completion to this most challenging Hanged Man year for me. The poem you read made me weep for my own losses. Your rituals excited in me a hunger to let those losses pass into the night. Thank you! I’m another devoted listener. Blake/Bodhi Sansterre

MORE than a podcast
I have been waiting to write a review of Strange Magic, thinking that the perfect words would come to me when the time was right; thoughts and praises for this special magic that these 3 amazing women have created rolling around in my head daily, just waiting to come together. After listening to episode 38 though, I have to write this review now, ready or not. I sat up from the meditation and tears just streamed down my face, I knew I couldn’t wait any more. Strange Magic is more than a podcast. Sarah, Amanda, and Carolyn are so much more than podcast creators, they are a gift, this show is a GIFT. I can probably count on one hand how many episodes of this show have NOT made me cry. Sarah is a gifted teacher, her words reach into my head and unlock a part of my soul that I didn’t know existed. Amanda; with her honey-sweet, vivacious and oh-so-sensual, juicy soul that comes through every episode, lights up my heart and spirit. I thank the Goddexx for leading me home . . . to Strange Magic, every time I listen. THANK YOU: to these 3 amazing witches for bringing that sexy 3 of Cups energy to every episode, and for all that you do and offer all of us. There is nothing strange about this podcast just . . . magic.

SM helped me re-enchant my PhD
I found this podcast at the right time. In the middle of working through serious mental and physical health struggles, right after turning in the first full draft of my dissertation, I started listening. Guidance from this podcast was instrumental in helping me connect to myself, my heart, my reasons for being a writer/scholar/teacher that have nothing to do with external validation. Guidance from this podcast helped me see that taking care of myself and giving my heart attention and care was the spiritual practice I had been missing. Listening to Amanda and Sarah helped me feel more empowered over my own experiences. The entire day before my doctoral hooding ceremony I spent by myself, sitting in pools and crying at the Korean spa. The entire day of my hooding ceremony, I told everyone who had come to celebrate with me exactly what I wanted them to do, and they did it. The moment of finally getting my phd had terrified me for so long, I believed I’d be overwhelmed with grief and missing people. But instead this day was incredibly and unexpectedly joyful. The people I was missing were there with me, and I took a little step into a power of mine which has nothing to do with a degree. Thank you Amanda, Sarah, and Carolyn for broadcasting your talents and time with generosity and brilliance. You’ve all given me a very special gift, and I am so everlastingly grateful for everything you’ve shared.

Great podcast for those beginning tarot
Can’t recommend this podcast enough. Gives SO MUCH INFO about cards and makes reading/learning them so much more comprehensive and understandable. Covers different angles such as shadow side, pop culture examples (love), and other items to invoke archetypes. The hosts are super knowledgeable and thorough. Wish I would’ve found this sooner, it’s been key in my learning and understanding. Nothing has helped me as much as their insights have. 10/10 -side bar, also love that almost every episode starts with, “Let’s just get right into it.” Concise and informative. Fantastic.

Newest season not the best
Seasons one and two are so good. Very informative and really knowledge based. Which is the reason I subscribed. Season three really took a dive for me. The ladies are really only plugging their projects and workshops (which is great!) only that it’s starting to take up half of each episode and it’s very repetitive. I really miss the educational and informational episodes. I don’t care so much for the two second sound bites of songs, movies, shows, etc. Please bring back the old format!

The best 💫
Listening to this podcast(I’ve listened to every episode!) is so liberating. You hear these two intelligent empowered witches deliver not only nuggets of gold in terms of explaining the tarot but how you can use it as a tool to reconnect to yourself and love the most authentic version of yourself. I teach yoga classes and hearing them speak so unabashedly and vulnerably has helped me develop more agency and encouraged me to share the innate wisdom that resides in all of us. They are a blistering example of two people advocating for what’s just and not necessarily easy. I really seriously look forward to listening it. Highly recommend!

Rediscovering my spirituality
Thank you for taking the time to make this podcast. After growing up in a fundamental religious environment and walking away from that, I was convinced I would need to just avoid all types of religion for the rest of my life because I did not want to get pulled into a system where I lost my power, voice, and autonomy after working so hard to uncover and discover it as an adult. Listening to this podcast has helped me to explore activities (aka rituals) that are created by me and are useful for me. Thanks to you, I am more open to the value of symbols and spiritual explorations, not to make me conform to someone else's norm, but to help me explore my inner emotional landscape. I can say that you two and the way you share your stories, insights, knowledge and hearts have really helped grow a part of me that has been long-dormant, and also give me so much to think about with regards to the world and people who are very different than the ones I see day to day in rural SW Michigan. You are expanding my mind and heart! Thank you for what you are creating. Aside: I think Sarah's voice sounds just like Regina (formerly the Evil Queen) on the TV show Once Upon a Time, and Amanda sounds just like my dear friend Melissa who is much less famous but equally loved by me! This is literally the best podcast of all time
Amanda and Sarah are like the two big sisters I never had but always wanted for deep wisdom and guidance in self-reflection. This podcast invites you to critically analyze the dynamics of your own life through the framework of tarot, which the hosts present in a thorough and fascinating fashion. I have a really busy life, but I ALWAYS look forward to Thursday mornings so I can get my weekly dose of thought-provoking, practical, and witchy dialogue. My consciousness expands when I listen to this podcast. The hosts are self-aware and don’t act like they know everything which makes listening to them a more authentic experience (since people who think they know everything are scams). THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU Carolyn for noticing this Magic and to all three of you for producing literally the best podcast of all time. 🌹

I’ve loved these witches for a long time and this podcast has been such a beautiful gift. I’m in a Hierophant year and been looking for the signs of mentors and it didn’t dawn on me that Amanda and Sarah (Carolyn too!!) were my teachers until recently. Their words, kindness, wisdom and subsequent questions have grown me as a witch and a person so much. I’ve listened since the beginning and I lost a friend to a violent suicide last month- revisiting the Death card episode made me feel seen in a way nothing else did. I’ve preordered their books and you better believe the second I can afford to be in the coven I’m signing up! Do yourself a favor! Listen, support, and buy their art! I’m not a stan- I’m a fawn 🥰

I absolutely love this podcast and these women! I’ve learned so incredibly much about tarot and have had many mind-blowing epiphanies as I’ve looked back at previous spreads I’ve done. The level of insight, history, current events, social constructs, and shadow sides of the cards completely clarify and help me understand them with a depth I had no idea was there. New to the Craft
Hi friends! Thanks for taking the time to read. Just wanted to say about a month ago, stumbled upon the Craft, Witchcraft and Magick and so many things resonated with my soul. I also (ironically) ordered a Tarot set before starting to study any of this, and started to do drawings on my own around the moon and have been documenting it. As something that’s self reflective, I have had pretty accurate readings with my cards.... But the most important thing- the rating of this podcast!!! This weekend, I enjoyed a 6 mile beautiful hike with Gaia and had this podcast on. I kept wanting to listen to each episode! It truly continues to open up my eyes on my practice. Sarah and Amanda are like my friends (but in LA- I’m in Colorado) and their explanation of Tarot, life, the Craft, feminism, world issues is so refreshing, comforting and easy to understand. It’s such a delight to listen to them everyday going to work and for a novice, not so intimidating to listen to. I’m so excited to get my hands on Amanda’s book. This podcast is like coming into ones’ favorite room with their friends, favorite tea, and gabbing on about the beauties of this practice and coming closer as human beings. I am so looking forward to the next season! Thanks for reading!

Victory to the Goddess!
Amanda & Sarah are two wonderful witches who aren’t afraid to confront controversy. There is NO spiritual bypassing in this space! And for someone who’s both a social worker, a trans femme, and a witch: the energy these two devote to inclusion is a refreshing change of pace to mainstream capitalist white cis appropriative new age witchy-ness. And they manage to do so with kindness and love! Beyond this, they really know their stuff. For anyone looking to deepen their connection to the Tarot and/or Witchcraft, this is the place for you. Not only do they cite their sources (a serious deficit in spiritual spaces), but they present the info through fun, accessible references! It never feels like a dry lecture- more like intimate tea-time with your closest coven members. And as if they weren’t magical enough: they encourage their listeners to intentionally move inward and trust themselves as their own witchy experts. Swoon. To AYG & Sarah: thank you for liberating me and giving me this energetic space! Boundless, Empress-Lovin’ to you and your team.

I’m on the journey
I just discovered this podcast a couple weeks ago and am so happy to have found it. I’m more than halfway through the episodes, and feeling the force of a terra firma education in the major arcana as well as soaking in all the wonderful wisdom from these witches. Hearing about their practices, views on tarot and witchery, also helps me feel better about being in the world. Thank you for all the work that goes into making this!

My favorite podcast
I’ve listened to a lot of podcasts, but none of them compare to Strange Magic. These people really get mysticism, intersectional feminism, decolonialization, Art, dreams, and the tarot. Deep on so many levels. Highly recommended.

Thank you times a million
I love this podcast so much. I am deeply grateful for all of Sarah's and Amanda's knowledge and wisdom, with which they infuse each episode. Every time I look at a major arcana card now, all this information floates into my brain and I am filled with so much more perspectives than ever before. The podcast, the notes, the references...I feel like I am in a graduate level of study, getting my PhD in releasing my soul from the patriarchy! I just can't thank you enough, Amanda, Sarah, and Carolyn! Such an awesome coming together of energies. Victory to the Goddess! Yeah!

Strange magic is the best magic
Ladies, every time I tune in and the song starts I’m home. I usually listen while walking my boys:doggies. I’m connecting with the universe and they can feel it, too, through the leash. I just know it. My personal tarot practice has deepened as well as whatever subject you bring to the discussion I can relate into my own. Loved season 2! Can’t wait for 3!

Found my tribe!
Ok so it takes me around 2 hours to get through each episode of you guys podcasts because I’m literally stopping every 5 minutes just to write down notes lol! Ive never found any place on the internet where I’m learning so much. You guys are operating from such a place of love and I know this because you two have expanded my own mind so much and have inspired me to explore more of my own being! I found my tribe. Thank you Amanda & Sarah for creating the most remarkable space of relatable, knowledgeable and informative teachings. I’m so happy spirit led me to you guys podcast. I just started reading tarot last Halloween (fitting lol) but no book or any other teaching I’ve come across has connected me to the cards like this podcast and on such a deep level. The cards speak so much more to me now. I just wanted to thank you both for all that you do. I’m sure you probably have a lot going on in your own life and world but you guys still make time for us. That’s so beautiful and amazing. Keep doing what you guys are doing and please don’t ever stop sharing your presence with the world, the sun wouldn’t shine as bright! Thank you again. Peace and love!

Thank you SO MUCH for doing this podcast and sharing all your tarot wisdom. You two are a pleasure to listen to and I look forward to every new episode/every card. Listening to your podcast has become a much easier, more accessible way for me to dive into each card than any book I’ve purchased.

Favorite podcast, so special
I don’t listen to many podcasts but I’ve been listening to Strange Magic the start (after having read and gained so much from Sarah’s Many Moons workbooks). Sarah and Amanda are knowledgeable, inclusive and compassionate. So many subjects get explored in this podcast, I especially love their stance and info on witchcraft being intertwined with social justice. Sarah’s guidance on working with the moon changed so many things for me, in the best way. And I recently tried out one of Amanda’s suggested summer solstice rituals with my fur baby, and I swear we are more connected than ever. Love & heaps of gratitude for this podcast and it’s creators 🌹

Truly fantastic
This is my favorite current podcast, I’ve loved Sarah’s work for a few years and am always fascinated to hear her insights. I really enjoy the rapport between the two hosts, they model a truly kind and affirming relationship. This extends out to us, the listeners, as well, and the whole show feels very relevant and personal. I especially appreciate that these folks don’t shy away from connecting the archetypes they’re discussing to our present time-via current events, culture, literature, etc. Just like when you get/do a tarot reading or pull a card, listening to this show truly causes me to pause, listen, reflect, and ultimately to better understand myself, others, and the world around me. Sarah and Amanda (and Carolyn) carve out a space for you with their voices and bring you into their circle. Thank you so much for your work!!💙💙💙

Invaluable for deepening understanding of masculine archetypes
LOVE! This podcast has been invaluable in expanding my own understanding of ‘male’/’masculine’ archetypes in the major arcana in a way that feels more authentic and aligned to my personal beliefs. I really appreciate the critical discussions of the various archetypes which go beyond mainstream or surface interpretations by incorporating marginalized viewpoints and other ways of thinking. The hosts possess a deep base of knowledge and routinely draw from various points of reference all while exuding warmth and empathy that is palpable to me as a listener. Thank you so much for this offering!

As someone pretty new to Tarot, I am grateful for the history, symbology and insights presented in this podcast. After each episode I have such a clear feel for the card discussed that I just wasn't getting in my own research. Both witches seem to draw from deep wells of wisdom and additionally must put a lot of time and energy into each show, considering how thoughtfully it is presented. Thank you so very much! A new level of awareness of tarot
This podcast fills a tremendously vital void within the world of tarot - one that is rich with history, allegory, mythology & tradition, while ALSO being radically inclusive, modern, and forward-thinking. Sarah and Amanda make the most amazing pair, and you feel like you’re hanging out with the most wise, mature friends you’ve ever had; they uplift each other and inspire each other and also have no problem disagreeing, which is a skill that is truly difficult to learn. I feel like I’ve stepped up to a new level of awareness of tarot and its nuances and especially its relevance to real, lived, experienced life. Thank you both for this nourishing work 💜

I’ve learned so much from this
No idea what episodes the earlier one-star reviewer could have listened to to give her such a negative impression of Sarah. I’ve never gotten that vibe at all and really appreciate having the perspectives of two witches with different experiences. I’ve learned so much about the tarot, information I wouldn’t have known how to find on my own, and the podcast just feels very accessible and welcoming to a newbie like me. Sarah and Amanda, y’all are fantastic; don’t change a thing!

⚡️🔮⚡️Magical Sonic Experience⚡️🔮⚡️
As a PhD student, a part-time non-profit program manger, and freelancer, I barely have time to pursue the heartwork needed to move and be present in the world. To top it off, I commute an hour to school and another hour to return home, and sometimes, I hit major traffic. Fortunately, I only do this a few times a week. But after discovering Strange Magic a few months ago, I was hooked. The work (that is only for me) outside of everything I do on a daily basis is reading tarot for members of my co-working and dear friends. Listening to Amanda and Sarah reminded me of why reading tarot and to continue learning is crucial and imperative to my growth and development as a human. I listen to them on my commute (and sometimes, at home when I’m cleaning or looking through art books) and their enthusiasm and passion is infectious. Intellectually and emotionally, they’re incredibly generous. I’m happy and thrilled they’re out in the world and if I ever meet them, I would probably just cry (tears of joy and excitement, of course). I also discovered them at just the right time when my anxiety and depression reached an all time high. They are what I needed exactly when I needed them. Thank you, Sarah and Amanda! Sending you both so much love and nurturing energy so you can continue doing the work you do! 🥰

I’d give more stars if I could
I am in the process of creating a tarot deck, and I wanted to listen to this podcast to develop a deeper understanding/more perspective on the subject. Not only did I find the information I was looking for (and more!) but I found a sense of inner peace and belonging as I listened. I won’t get too into it, but I was raised in a very controlling/cult-y, extremely patriarchal religion. On top of that I grew up in an abusive household. It took a long time for me to be able to separate myself from my upbringing. The more I grew into myself the more I found home in the identity of “witch.” I’ve also realized that as a witch I wasn’t just a black sheep in my family, I’m a black sheep in the world. Outcast. It can be a lonely and isolating feeling. My point is, I don’t feel alone when I listen to Amanda and Sarah. I feel so deeply connected to them and their message. Everything resonates. I’ve enjoyed every second of this podcast, every opinion, joke, story. The episode where Sarah talks about how she got into tarot made me have to pause and cry for awhile. Hearing about her personal experience with trauma and resistance to witchcraft and tarot and her skepticism... ugh! Yes! Victory to the goddess! I’m not alone! I feel so seen and valid and encouraged on my path. I like I’m rambling at this point so suffice it to say I think you should listen to strange magic. Amanda and Sarah, if you read this, know that I love you. It would be the honor of my life to cross paths with you and tell you both in person someday. 🖤

Amanda and Sarah provide insightful reflections on selfhood, power, and transcendence through wise and knowledgeable discussions on wide ranging topics such as archetypes, union history, divination, internet culture, and ethical conundrums: including appropriation- herb and crystal sourcing- and imperatives to fight despotic regimes and laws. They present their expertise with humility and curiosity. Through engaging banter they cite their sources, and point to their own blind spots. They recognize that even spirituality on the margins can suffer from dogmatic acceptance. Sarah and Amanda recognize the power and insight present in their listeners and provide a host of tools, stories, rituals, and advice to transform their listeners and the world to a more compassionate, beautiful, and exciting place. I think that if we could all be critical thinking, socially concerned, self aware witches like the team on Strange Magic, the earth would be transformed for the better.

5 moons out of 5 Sarah’s book series Many Moons led me to follow her, and here, I am introduced to Amanda who feels like a she is bathing us all in a shower of cosmic dust and rose petals with her sweetness and truth. I am very grateful for both of them, and the wisdom they share. The thoughtfulness, consideration, and inclusivity that they approach their work with has allowed me to create more space to consider others more deeply in the way I take up space in this world. I look forward to this podcast every week, and it has helped me move through places where I’ve felt so stuck, or like I might collapse in from the weight of the world. What an unexpected pleasure! I have recently renewed my commitment to Tarot study after many years, and have been working my way through Alejandro Jodorowsky’s The Way of Tarot. I wanted to find something to connect with and listen to for dog walks and gardening time and found your podcast. I love and appreciate the depth and intelligence you bring to delivering your show. So much love for this show!
I absolutely fell in love with this show within the first few minutes of listening!! Both Amanda and Sarah are incredibly knowledgeable and do a great amount of research on every symbol within each card, always offering some mythological or historical tidbit to share about each symbol. I’ve listened to almost every episode of this show within the week that I discovered it, I would highly recommend!! My one qualm with the show is that Sarah comes off as sort of bossy and narcissistic and seems to dominate the conversation and talk over Amanda quite often. Regardless of that, both women have very interesting things to say, always! I only mention this because it makes some moments rather cringey to listen to.

I love this show so much. Sarah and Amanda do such a good job offering different interpretations of the cards and ways to understand the tarot as a whole. I also love that these two and their podcast is intersectional at their core, which is wonderful since sometimes the tarot can feel problematic and they don’t glaze over that. These two are a joy to listen to and I appreciate their thoughtful insight and wisdom on tarot and divination. Great podcast! Except for interruptions.
I love hearing the show and have binged listened to a majority of the series in just 2 days. My only negative feedback is that I feel Amanda often tries to dominate the show with her opinions and experiences, to the point where Sarah can’t even get through a sentence sometimes bedside Amanda either tries to finish the thought for her or just flat out high-jacks the conversation.

Excellent insightful tarot podcast
I’m a big fan already of Sarah’s Many Moons work, which drew me to this podcast. Sarah and Amanda do a fantastic job of making tarot understandable and relatable. I love how they interact and the beautiful things they say that incite deep thought about tarot and life, and help forge a personal connection to the cards. I really loved their workshop as well, and highly recommend to take it if they do another (hoping!!!). There are some great tarot podcasts out there, and I encourage anyone who wants to learn, to make this one of the primary ones they listen to. The perspectives are so helpful and valuable. Excellent Resource for the Witch-Curious
I started listening to this podcast as a “witch-curious” individual, and it was exactly what I didn’t even know I was looking for: two amazing, intelligent, and genuine witches talking about tarot, magic, life and everything in between in a way that is so approachable, and ultimately relatable for anyone. This podcast has become one of my favorite resources as I continue to follow my Path and from the perspective of someone who is desperately interested in tarot but has no prior experience or exposure, Sara and Amanda have delivered an in-depth and enlightening introduction. Thank you Amanda and Sara for creating something beautiful and important, I am so looking forward to what season two will bring us. 💖

Card of the Year
I am learning so much from you both and sharing it all with my coven and super grateful for you being so generous with your knowledge. Following the instructions in the Cards of the Year episodes and the Many Moons planner, just wondering, when calculating your card for the year, it’s okay to add just “1+9” for this year? Why not 2+0+1+9? Looking at other books and not clear on this. Thanks!

Inclusive Magic and Down to Earth Realness
Strange Magic has quickly become my weekly highlight for connecting with my witchy self and our wider community. I love how Sarah and Amanda are traveling through the tarot deck (with humor, sexuality and real life archetype examples). They also insert episodes on pagan holidays and essential issues in spiritual communities like addressing inclusivity, spiritual bypassing, and white supremacy. These two witches make me laugh and make me think. So grateful for their resources!

Making the tarot relatable to present day
I started working with the tarot after getting Sarah’s Many Moons journal (which I’m obsessed with) in January this year. At first I found it incredible but hard to relate to 500+ years later. After listening to this, it makes it much easier to understand each card, how to work with, and what it means in a reading. I love that they have a section in each episode that tells us things we can do when each card comes up in a reading. I find it very practical and helpful. I also love knowing they’re thousands of other witches out there listening. Thanks Amanda and Sarah for creating this for the collective! We needed it :)

Loving this podcast by these two witches! I’ve always have been interested in tarot, (was even encouraged during a reading that I should begin working with the cards) but have often gotten overwhelmed at trying to learn. Sarah Faith and Amanda’s podcast makes tarot seem approachable while also taking the time to address its limitation in representation re: race, ability, etc, which I really appreciate. Thankful for this dynamic offering to keep us all reflecting and growing
Writing this review felt daunting because I have felt so many layers of learning through this podcast, and I am sure I won’t include them all. (Partly because I feel the impact is still unfolding as I sit with what I have heard and think on it more each day.). This is how rich this podcast is, yet it is also so approachable and fun. One thing I was struck by, when listening, is the deep respect these two women are modeling for us all. Their care in their language, their way of encouraging and building in each other’s thoughts and ideas and their way of sharing when they don’t fully agree without making this something that is “bad” but is a beautiful, real moment of people coming together to share and learn from each other. Then there is the layer of tarot learning that I feel so thankful for! With only a few cards “uncovered”, so far- out of so many, I am already understanding how this system is there to help us reflect on, appreciate, and learn from these deep, overarching archetypes that all of humanity exude and often grapple with. I don’t usually listen to podcasts, with my busy schedule, but I made time for and look forward to this one. It is stimulating, leaves me thinking and also leaves me hopeful. For myself as I evolve and learn more about myself, and for humanity. Thank you to Amanda and Sarah who share so much of their own journeys, their thinking and their lives with us. We are better for it, and though this is not a dialogue, I think it is adding to each of us listener’s inner dialogue, and the communication we share with those around us. Take the time- this podcast is so worth adding to your week!

Such a delight!
A deep exploration of tarot archetypes and symbolism, perfectly balanced with commentary on how we can transform some of the more historically patriarchal interpretations of the cards. I also love that it’s inquisitive in nature and not so black and white - presenting ways of considering these concepts in multifaceted ways. The two hosts bring their own separate ideas together - more conversational and open minded - highly appreciated because the world does not need another “tarot keywords” guide!
