A True Gem

Comforting
I really got into this podcast over The Pandemic when social isolation got me--and many others--real down. Sasheer and Nicole have the kind of rapport friendship dreams are made of, and I find being privvy to it once a week real pleasure. I love it so much I subscribed to Stitcher Premium just so I could go through the archival episodes!

Give Nicole More TV Roles
I like the podcast but I have an observation. Nicole has shared her challenges with how her brain works. But Nicole speaks well and articulates her thoughts well. While Sasheer seems to struggle to find her words a lot. Her speech pattern is hard to follow at times, it’s very choppy. And her power is missing from her voice. Why Won’t You Date Me Podcast with Nicole is a better listen in my opinion. Looking forward to seeing and hearing Nicole in more things.

Every episode slaps for one reason or another. They have a duper cool format for guests and they are even great on the fly. Their complementary dynamic is lovely and supportive. Love the hosts but…
I’m not sure if they actually read these reviews, so I’m not sure what good leaving this review is actually doing, but I’m gonna leave it here anyway. Ultimately, I think Nicole is a very talented comedian, and I think Sasheer has a very sweet personality, and I love listening to their unique voices. You can really feel the love you guys have for each other in every episode. That being said, this podcast is extremely disorganized. I think it would be better if you guys planned a list of general and relevant topics, because sometimes it feels like you’re dragging out topics until you think of something random and unrelatable to talk about. I understand that this isn’t Nicole’s only podcast, so maybe its hard to do better planning things out for this one, but I really love the energy she brings to “Why Won’t You Date Me”, and I wish I could find that same energy here. Maybe it’s something your producers can help out with. I’m just saying it’s hard finding podcasts hosted by Black women, and I just want better from y’all. Anyway, I truly love both of y’all, and I wish my first review wasn’t to criticize you guys. Also, Nicole sounded high in the last episode. What’s up with that. It was very unpleasant to listen to, and I had to turn it off after only 7 minutes.

Nicole sounded high/drunk
This weeks episode was absolutely unlistenable!!! I know Nicole mentioned at the top that she was tired, but oh my should they have waited to record the podcast. She sounded like she was high or drunk or both I tried to get through the episode because i love the show, but I had to run to my phone to turn it off after 10 mins of listening to it, it was actually torture to listen to. I get it’s free for us to listen to but come on, they should have waited to record. Love listening wish this week I didn’t have to skip.

Love the show and these ladies! They’re truly hilarious. But I HATE the Buzzfeed quizzes. I know the quiz segment is tongue-in-cheek, but man those quizzes are awful, poorly-constructed, and don’t really work in an audio format. The ladies’ talents are completely wasted on that segment. Maybe in the future, they could play a game instead or something. Anything would be better than those GODDAMN QUIZZES!

I have been a huge Marvel fan since the 90s X-Men cartoon, and I have given them too much of my money. I am so glad to find that Nicole and Lauren understand the greatest Marvel movie of all time is the YouTube video of Vin Diesel doing his line on stilts. Love their friendship, love their other work. This show is not for anyone that hopes to get anything out of listening besides Nicole showing she lacks education and Sasheer talking about chairs and complaining about companies. They talk/complain about their day and first world problems and take online quizzes. That’s it. Like, why would we wana listen to you taking random Buzzfeed quizzes? Their advice section was kinda cool, but they tend to give selfish, possibly dangerous advice. This podcast proves that truly ANYONE can have a podcast. Anyone. The content is soo subpar- the producers(Kimmy) or whatever need to step it up. I legit feel robbed of my time after listening.

I love this podcast! For someone that has anxiety, I need resources to just kinda plug in and tune everything out, and this podcast it great! I’ve laughed so loud at some of the conversations had on this show, and honestly I wish it was updated every day. I’m so glad I found this show! Also, I’m not really a rewatcher or relistener, but I relisten to these episodes CONSTANTLY. Literally couldn’t recommend more.

Propaganda
It’s disappointing when the ladies talk about issues they don’t know both sides to. Most recent episode Sasheer brings up overpopulation and says humans are consuming more resources than can be sustainably produced. This is false, the US and western world waste more than enough resources that could be supporting the current human population and eliminate hunger and poverty. Farmers are sometimes paid to not produce products or to throw products away to control the prices of resources like cow’s milk. Nicole has spread misinformation about vaccines as well without understanding the science herself. Love the comedy of these comedians but I wish they would be more careful about what they’re talking about and the info they spread because they are very influential women.

I love this podcast! I’m weaning myself off of news podcasts which drain my spirit. So, I’ve substituted my list with healthier ones. Today, I listened to episode 94 and I have to say, it made me soooo happy. The way they beliefe in themselves, and are unapologetic and enthusiastic about life is a “treat”. Funny yet lopsided
I love both Nicole and Sasheer, even listen to Nicole’s main podcast “Why won’t you date me.” Was looking forward to this podcast to see how these two interact but a bit disappointed. Is it funny? Yes. Will i continue to listen? Sure. The issue I have is that for every 1 minute Sasheer speaks, Nicole will talk about herself for 5. Just finished listening to episode 90 with the title about Sasheer buying a house but most of the opening was about Nicole finding a whip in her house, putting up wallpaper, holes in her wall for hanging curtain, her father, her mother being a poor decorator, and the price of TVs...all about Nicole. I’m sure Sasheer doesn’t mind as I’m not here to dictate how friendships and sharing should be but idk i find myself saying out loud “let Sasheer have her own moment” but comedians are a bit narcissistic so it makes sense that Nicole usually brings things back to her. Funny though. Yeah.

Love the show, you guys are so funny and a delight on my commute. Nicole, I heard you talking about your severe period pain. Supplement recommendation: “Cramp Aid” made by delune. It was a game changer for me- a person who would take ibuprofen and Tylenol around the clock, wear a TENs unit, and burn my skin from constant heating pad use. Seriously, it helped so much and I only had to take maybe 5 doses of ibuprofen total in the 1st and 2nd day of my last period. Hope this helps! You guys are BOTH so funny - keep up the great work!

Lol I died while listening and this is my ghost typing. Chickens aren’t mammals, they’re birds (or land ducks!) Chicken’s don’t produce milk because they don’t have mammary glands and have “breasts” in name only. They don’t produce milk to feed their young — no nipples necessary. Egg whites are the protein part of the egg that turns into a chick. The egg yolk is the fat the chick feeds on before it hatches and waits for mom to feed it chewed up bugs or leaves the nest to search for bugs to eat. Love y’all, hope that helps! 👻

Nicole and Sasheer don’t know they’re my best friends
I have been listening to this show for a long time, but it is honestly the thing that got me through 2020. In 2019 my partner and I left home, moved to a miserable rural Kentucky town, and I got super depressed before the pandemic ever started. But listening to these two talk about friendship, mental health, snacks, and pole dancing gave me something to laugh about even when the whole world fell apart. I even made Ritz cracker ice cream, and as it turns out, I had no idea what it was supposed to be like, but GUESS WHAT IT WAS GREAT. In conclusion, I’m glad I can pretend to hang out with Nicole and Sasheer since my loved ones are far away, and if you’re feeling alone and sad, you will enjoy the fake companionship you get listening to this show. Ladies, you all are great, please never stop roller skating.

I learned to clean myself properly
The title speaks for itself. I don’t know how to truly express myself with words to get everyone to know that Nicole and Sasheer are so funny and delightful. Also Nicole’s laugh makes me laugh so whenever she gets a deep hearty laugh in I practically ascend to heaven and god has to say no not yet and send me back to my body. Sasheer is what id call an emotional pool of delight in terms of the advice she gives but also i think people should be careful of her hunger. Make sure she isn’t hunger. Beware of the hanger.

I can’t believe I hadn’t listened to this pod before but I’m stoked I started it during Quarantine! Sasheer and Nicole are basically my at-home best friends. Living on my own during this time can get quiet and lonely but I never fail to laugh at their hilarious banter and quizzes. They genuinely try to help ppl that call in/leave emails and are thoughtful with their responses—thank you! I am in love with Nicole and Sasheer. They remind me of the relationship I have with my best friend, and I feel like I’ve been welcomed into their friendship as well. I was hooked from the first episode I tried because I laughed so hard I cried. It’s nice to not feel like everything is always terrible. Sometimes, there will be a bit of seriousness because Nicole and Sasheer are... REAL PEOPLE! (Hold your surprise! It’s like people are allowed to be multidimensional.) I felt compelled to write this review because I was so comforted by listening to them just talk and really prepared me for a rough day.

Oh man!!! This has to be favorite episode! i laughed so hard! I’m legit on another level with showers. I have a soap for each body part. Even for my feet! Feet soap, separate scrub. Body wash, wash cloth or loofa . Face wash, face brush or Clarisonic. Bar of soap for private parts. I wash my hands before taking a shower. Sugar scrubs, also shampoo and conditioner. Separate towels! I also have guest towels and NEVER share mine. Am I crazy? Lololololol

i was casually listening to this week’s episode & was about to take my wonderful antidepressants. the pills were already in my mouth!!! & then nicole talked about sasheer trying to fight the coat rack & i truly almost spit the pills out because i was laughing so hard! also i could hear jordan laughing in the background & other people laughing makes me laugh! so then i could not actually swallow these pills for quite a bit but i had to manage because antidepressants are crucial in these trying times! thank you for bringing laughter to us all! to any other listeners: i do not recommend drinking beverages or attempting to swallow pills while listening to this show because it is a potential hazard 😊

The funniest most heart warming podcast
I’m a long time fan of Nicole’s Why Won’t You Date Me? Podcast and one of her guests said that they loved Best Friends podcast bc in this one Nicole laughs A LOT bc Sasheer makes her so happy, and immediately I knew I had to check this one out. So happy to report that it’s true: they make each other laugh so hard & I laugh to the point of crying every time I listen to this. It’s honestly a hazard bc I usually listen to podcasts while cooking, and I’ve come very close to cutting myself /burning my dinner. Also they give the best advice and they model, just through conversation, how to be a supportive and good friend. Also I learn something each episode bc they google the wildest things : haha ! I got into this podcast from being a fan of Nicole and started with Why Won’t You Date Me. However, this podcast appeals to me far more. While WWYDM can feel repetitive and vulgar for the sake of shock factor alone, Nicole and Sasheer’s rapport in Best Friends is electric and enjoyable. I’ve read reviews of other podcasts I enjoy where people said they laughed so loud it made other people uncomfortable and made them look crazy. While I enjoy lots of podcast, I didn’t relate to that sentiment until I listed to B.E.S.T. F.R.I.E.N.D.S. The friendship between Nicole & Sasheer has its own gravitational pull and I feel like I’m the 3rd best friend - the one who laughs at everything but never contributes. It’s great! Thank you for the incredibly unattractive cackles that burst from my mouth hole. ❤️

What a Dream, What a Treat.
I love Nicole, and have recently come to love Sasheer though this podcast. You can hear/feel just how much these two people love each other. I haven’t heard them call each other sisters, but I do feel that they are as close as family and it truly shows. If you want abs, but want to skip the gym then I highly recommend listening to these lovely people discuss whatever the hell they want to. I belly laugh every episode, pretty much throughout the whole podcast. Im down 2lbs so far. TRULY, I catch myself checking to see if they released an episode early multiple times a week. I LOVE THIS PODCAST AND THESE PEOPLE (Including Kimmy and the nice sound man who’s name escapes me). Thank you Sasheer and Nicole. You truly are aspirational in terms of setting the perfect example of a healthy platonic relationship. -A proud “Best Friends” t-shirt owner. Really tried to enjoy it but...
I’ve listened to all except the full live episode and really wanted to love it because both women are so funny and I love “why won’t you date me” but this one has no structure at all and feels like you’re out drinking with two of your BFFs who have a four-hour lead on drinks and you’ll never catch up or understand what’s so GD funny. Basically it’s an hour or more of Nicole laughing like crazy at inside jokes.
