Funny and relatable!
I learned about Leo’s podcast after attending his comedy show in San Diego. I took one listen and was hooked! I appreciate that he brings light to the subject of mental health as I struggle with my mental health and it can be a taboo topic of discussion. Leo is well spoken and makes you feel understood and it’s a bonus that he’s funny too! Thank you for creating a safe space for us listeners!

The conversation that needs to be had
I first saw Leo at a comedy show and found him hilarious. When I found out he did a podcast on mental health, this piqued my interest completely as I struggle with mental health. So I listened to the most recent episode and it hooked my in with the “exit signs.” It got me thinking, “What are my exit signs? Do I even have any? Do I need to look for what they are?” So after that, I went back to the beginning, and listening to the first episode. Then the next. And so on and so on. Each episode I’ve listened to so far has been insightful, food for thought, as well as something you never would have never thought you would hear about mental health. Each guest has brought something great to the table, think of it as a potluck and each person brought their own dish, because they definitely brought a dish to serve.

From one Black psychologist to another
Just wanted to say thank you and that I appreciate all that you do. I discovered you a few months ago. You were there at one of the roughest points in my life when I was unemployed and trying to finish graduate school while living off of the last of my savings. Life still isn’t smooth, but you remind me that my battles are not in vain and that I don’t have to accept my life as is. It was more important than I realized for me to hear another Black man going through similar struggles. I feel like you’re an old friend of mine who I catch up with when we meet in a city somewhere. I will continue to listen to the podcast to learn from you. Thank you.

I personally listen to his podcasts on Spotify but whether you listen on here or Spotify I just wanna say his podcasts are just so refreshing he really makes you feel like have someone there that really KNOWS that what you’re going through is temporary and I love how he just makes you think and he really digs in it just feels so comforting listening to him when I am stressed out because i have a hard time speaking to “real” people so when I listen to him even just talking about his experiences it makes me feel safe if that makes sense. Leo is someone I have absolute respect for, please listen to his podcasts if you have a chance. (:

Solitary:A biography by Albert Woodfox
I’ve been a listener for awhile. I can’t remember whose podcast I heard you on first but you suggested a book on that particular podcast for kids who had been abused by their parents. My dad was in Angola prison in Louisiana for 25+ years. The book you mentioned was written by Albert Woodfox who was in Angola as well.

Much needed conversation
Too many people are afraid to discuss the darker side of mental health. Leo brings an honest and reverent yet humorous attitude toward suicide. His guests are professional and knowledgeable, but most of all, interesting. I’m thankful to have found this And will recommend to others.

A Strong Voice in a Conversational Void
This podcast has to exist on media in a world of social media that avoids the subject of suicide. As a therapist, I know that sometimes suicide is averted by a google search and feeling like someone is out there that understands you. Leo is kind and understanding, his voice is soothing and message profound. Thank you!

This is a really fabulous podcast, and Leo is a gifted interviewer. He’s really looking for those pearls that help offer help to people when they’re hopeless. He’s able to pick up on not just guests expertise, but their humanity, and that’s the thing that offers the lifeline to people who are on the edge — knowing we’re all human together. An amazing time
I was interviewed by Leo and I have to say it didn’t feel like one. The conversation flowed smoothly, he listened, echoed my thoughts, and it carried on the conversation. I’m generally an anxious person, but I didn’t feel that weight during our talk. I hope his platform expands so he can reach more listeners. It’s important we spread mental health awareness.

Always new, different & informational content
First of all, Leo is the best. He has a wonderful sense of humor that lights up a room, but he’s also truly down to earth and willing to confront the deep issues and struggles that many people are facing. Secondly, this podcast is incredible. When I first saw the title, I expected the episodes to be fairly heavy and perhaps difficult to listen to. I was so wrong. Leo brings on people from all walks of life, and they talk about their talents, passions, pain, struggles and how they have healed and supported their mental health. I love how each episode is different from the last. It’s refreshing, inspiring and always an educational experience. I am learning everything - from how to be an entrepreneur to how to deal with challenges to conflict management - from listening to this podcast. This is hands-down one of the best podcasts I’m subscribed to and I can’t wait for more episodes!

Revolutionizing the suicide stigma one soul at a time
I am inspired by Leo’s courage to speak openly and honestly about his mental health journey. I admire his tenacity to find professionals that can share their perspectives, experiences, and tools. If the name of his podcast grabs your attention and you have a strong reaction then I think that’s perfect. Mental health professionals need everyone to be on the lookout. Learn the warning signs. Too many beautiful souls commit suicide. Direct them to the professionals and hotlines that are here to help. You can make a difference and save a life.

- Lessons Learned from Whitney Houston's life: How to stop comparing ourselves to others and start enjoying the life we're livingLeo discusses: our public, private and secret life she had a gift and smoking killed it. we have to protect our gift she didn't enjoy it, it was to pay bills she did it for the fans and bills instead of an internal locus of control: challenging self she missed her opportunity for growth at the superbowl. it could've been her Miley Cyrus wrecking ball moment. despair leads to depression then we compare ourselves to others and/or past self not realizing the roles might reverse; when we compare we're not accepting ourselves, not recognizing room for growth, "i"m not what I used to be" Sponsor: Is there something interfering with your happiness or is preventing you from achieving your goals? https://betterhelp.com/leo and enjoy 10% off your first month and start talking to mental health professional today!! 1-on-1 Coaching : If you want go from feeling hopeless to hopeful, lonely to connected and like a burden to a blessing, then go to 1-on-1 coaching, go to www.thrivewithleo.com.
