JJ IS BACK
JJ I am so happy you are doing long podcasts again!! I have listened to your show for years and I can’t get enough of them! They are so informative and always leave you inspired to start/continue your health journey. I have done the Virgin diet every year for the past few years and each time it’s life changing and an amazing reset. Thank you for all you do! You have impacted so many lives including my own!

Bite sized and in depth!
There isn’t a topic that JJ doesn’t cover when it comes to health! Her podcast is educational, informative but not overwhelming (I like that the episodes are shorter than other health pods!) As an RD I could not recommend it more!

Life changing!! So much for the better.
Dear JJ, For four years now, I continue to flourish as a healthy, happy woman. I owe a great deal of that good fortune to you, your life-changing books and this marvelous podcast (that reaffirms my commitment to this healthy lifestyle)! Four years ago, I picked up "The Sugar Impact Diet)" and lost 30 pounds. I have maintained the weight loss for four years and counting. Previously, I could never accomplish anything remotely close to that. Thank you!!! Keep up the great work that you do. I am so grateful. Linda (61 years-old) this month.

Listened to an episode desperate to get help for my acne. The guest and host talked over each other, interrupted each other, and the connection was cracky and muffled. So hard to listen to!

Pivotal & Powerful Hope
Pivotal as always JJ. As a certified Health Coach, I am always looking for that piece of information or idea that can help someone, including myself, get to the next level of healing. Especially if you been at it for a while and feel stuck, and episode #396 with Dr. Alex Loyd delivered! His work on how you can reshape memories to jumpstart healing is so spot on and timely. As you mentioned on the podcast, you can do all the things like change what you eat, get more sleep, but if your internal memories keep your body in fight or flight mode you’re filling a very leaky bucket! I often use your podcasts as an educational tool for my clients and this one just made it to the top of the list! Trauma and default memory healing is truly the only way some with a desire to be fully healthy can reach their potential and your podcast and work is a huge part to that recipe. Thanks for all you do and keep bring us the good stuff! Sincerely, Bobbi McGrath from BE FOR YOU in Illinois💪🏻👊🏻😊

JJ Talks Too Much
JJ invites interesting guests to speak on relevant topics. Unfortunately, JJ herself is always interrupting her guests and talking over them. It’s like she can’t put her ego aside and just listen for one moment. It’s too annoying to sit through. Too bad, otherwise it could be a good podcast.

Disgraceful
Dr. Joseph Mercola has been identified as the top disseminator of misinformation concerning COVID vaccinations by the CCDH. Yet Virgin describes Mercola as an “amazing “ health expert in her July 24th podcast. We probably don’t know how many people have died needlessly following Mercola’s anti-Vax advice, but any podcast, and podcaster, promoting such a provider deserve no consideration or respect. It is incomprehensible why Virgin allowed such a disgraceful healthcare provider like Mercola to be on this show. I will be canceling my subscription immediately.

Great , useful info to ponder but
The balance between self promotion, content, sincerity, intent, brilliance, humility and wisdom is concerning. Remember that what we tout as knowledge, even backed by erudite research, will morph and grow so that the idea of certainty is relevant and reforming. I prefer to view most every conclusion, every remedy, prefaced with the wisdom of this knowledge. It would be affirming to hear all these proclaimed experts, and even all medical practitioners, speak and promote this truth along with the jewels and advice. We learn more and shift our thinking. I applaud your willingness to share your life’s work and what you’ve come to understand at this juncture in time. And I get the necessity of advertising, but when listening to many shows in a row it becomes tiresome and less effective,, perhaps even negative. I call it disadvertusing and defeating the intent. Thank you!!!

Good information
The last time I posted a comment here, I complained about when the podcasts were posted. I do not know if this has been addressed or not because the podcast format has been changed and there has not been any weekend shows until recently. And it is about the new weekend podcast I would like to comment. As usual the podcasts are interesting and informative, but there is a problem. JJ has interviewed two guests about their yet to be published books. Both of these guests have promised bonuses to those who pre-order their books. However, the podcasts have been posted after the books have come out, so the listeners are unable to get the bonuses. These podcasts need to come out BEFORE the books come out if you want your listeners to get all the benefits promised. As a result of, I am taking my stars down to a 3. I enjoy listening to JJ’s podcasts and learn a lot and would love to share them with my friends. However, (and the reason for the 4 stars) when I go to her website to get the link they are not there on they day they are aired. It would be great if the podcasts were on her website the day they were posted on iTunes. Also, I would love to hear a show on CBD oil and its benefits. More specifically, why it would help with brain fog. ~ Beverly Spring

Deeply substantial and amazingly practical
It’s obvious JJ puts extraordinary effort in covering salient topics and finding guests that are authentic and truly care about being a positive force in this world - the insights she brings to bear is still mind-blowing Every. Single. Time. No matter the subject, you’re guaranteed to gain something from every episode - can’t recommend Ask the Health Expert enough 🙌

Used to LOVE THE SHOW
JJ I am so disappointed with season 3, I used to LOVE your show and I find myself going back to the other seasons for longer episodes. Over half of the five minute podcasts now consist of the introduction and commercials which only leaves about a minute and a half of content that’s useful. Even then, the information is no where near as useful as it once was. It’s just a bit vague and for someone who is new and trying to learn such as my self, I really enjoyed the longer podcasts where you or your guest were able to dig in and explain thoroughly. I’m not kidding when I say your show was life changing. Please please consider going back to your older format and longer episodes! I would love to keep learning! Thank you

No value
A four minute podcast with 2.5 minutes of advertising? Where is the value for the listener? There used to be meaningful interviews with experts that were worth listening to. This season is missing the mark for me.

Life changing & transformative
I’m a 4 year breast cancer survivor, although I like to say I’ve been 4 years fighting & thriving! 👍🏽💃🏽😍 While struggling with the trauma of sexual abuse & violence, racism, and the resulting body image & anger issues, addictions, and acute anxiety & depression. JJ’s book, The Virgin Diet: Drop 7 foods, Loose 7 pounds, Just 7 days, and this Podcast have been no less than life changing & transformative in my approach not only to overall health, well being, and nutrition, but also to the impact of how those daily decisions of what to do, what to eat, how to poop! 😊😆🤫and what thoughts to give energy & attention to, both manifest as “our life” AND have real repercussions on the planet & environment. Finally, I’m DEEPLY thankful that JJ is one of the Spiritual warriors and Holistic Well being & Health Prophets that was urged to share the wisdom of the most important lesson of all: Everything we need to heal ourselves is already right here. In nature, the earth, and inside each of us. We have to stop comparing and become experts of our own mind, bodies, spirits, and souls and develop the skills and strategies necessary to manifest our higher lives and therefore our most authentic selves... If we can just align what we put in our mouth to our true mind, body, spirit and purpose, and get the hell out of the way! Lol 😜 As we say in Colombia, “Gracias Amiga”. “Thank you friend. “ Sending you love, light, and endless gratitude for giving me the tools to set: “this girl on fire!💃🏽🔥” “Thank you” just seems grossly insufficient but: Merci. Gracias. Obrigada. Thank you. 🙏🏽💙💜💖🔥💝💖💙💚🔥💛🧡❤️🙏🏽

BEST Health advice EVER
Thank you JJ for many years of Health and nutrition advice that has helped me feel better and realize what makes me feel great. I first saw you on Public TV while in Palm Desert. I live in San Diego, and have shared your books with many neighbors and friends over the years. I listen to your podcast, read your books, and order products off of your website. Without the specific details from your fantastic guests, and your thorough knowledge of the science of nutrition, I would be stuck with the symptoms of autoimmune disease, and pesky weight gain and sugar cravings. Your explanations of symptoms and conditions and how food can help has been a lifesaver for me. Please keep doing what you do-theres nobody who does it better!

Love JJ
I love JJ! I have been listening to JJ for years. I have watched her transitions between seasons. I think season 2 was my favorite. Where she had an interview, a question podcast, and a solo podcast. I loved this. I still love the podcast but I don’t like that there are just questions now. Can you just add one interview a week podcast? I love the longer podcasts. The short ones are fine but too short. Just not loving these as much. Just wanted to be honest with you as I know you don’t love the reviews that aren’t awesome. I still love you just want more than questions.

What about endurance athletes :)
Hi JJ! First off, I want to say how much I LOVE your show and your products and am constantly sending your podcasts to friends. I understand endurance athletes might not be your target market but there is one thing that keeps popping up episode after episode. You speak about such a wide range of fitness, nutrition and wellness, but multiple times have discouraged endurance training. I am an endurance triathlete whom races in Ironmans and I do it because I love the sport and it makes my soul happy. With that, I also struggle with my weight. I don’t want to give up a sport that I love doing but I also refuse to give up on my body, what are some insights you may be able to have for us endurance athletes that also still want to lose weight and be healthy as possible. I know I’m not the only one out there and not all endurance athletes are as skinny as a rail. How can I continue to do the sport that I love and lose weight as an endurance athlete? :)

Life Changer!
Dear Team JJ: My name is Sharon and from Chicago. About six months ago I went to the doctor and received news that made me sad. I was deemed as overweight, suffered from high inflammation, thus the incredible knee pain, and my blood work came back all crazy. I immediately started searching for answers and with the greatest stroke of luck, I found your podcast. I was immediately hooked and promptly started making big changes in my life, namely cutting out processed foods and sugar and adding omega 3’s and leafy greens. Within weeks brain fog lifted, knee pain went away, and I was losing weight. Honestly, I care about losing weight, but I care more about a healthy heart, body, and mind. I now begin and end my day with a journal of gratitude and have ensured that I get enough sleep each day. I cannot thank you enough for sharing your amazing wealth of knowledge and bringing on guests that have also contributed to my overhaul in life. You are a life saver and I will be forever grateful! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!

Expert information with no BS
I love this podcast! The information is super-helpful, organized, and the segments are of manageable lengths. (I don’t always have 90 minutes to listen to an episode!) J.J., what I love most about your approach is that you don’t use scare tactics or speak in absolutes, as I’ve found to be the case with many other nutrition authors whose main agenda seems to be to sell books. In short, I feel like you are the real deal, and I trust your information. As a chef and menu consultant who helps people with elimination diets, I am totally on board with your customized approach to diet and the benefit of eliminating inflammatory foods. The results are real and long-lasting. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us! - Chef Laurie Gauguin

JJ is on top of her game!
I’ve been following JJ since The Virgin Diet. I’m a Nurse, and I think the medical field is behind the times when it comes to nutrition and weight loss. I will read something in a medical journal and think, this is old news, JJ talked about this last year! I love that you practice what you preach. I love the variety of guests on the show, who have something super interesting to tell us. Even if it doesn’t pertain to you, you know someone it does pertain to. This podcast has opened my eyes to things I thought were close to a hoax, like tapping, or essential oils. Before you judge, try them. There is something to all this stuff. My favorite part, of course, is the science rational. I love to hear how and why something works. It just makes sense. I appreciate and learn something from every episode. Thank you for teaching the world about nutrition and everything that goes along with it.

Knowledge is power!
I spent about 10 years going through menopause, diagnosed with an enlarged thyroid, having thyroid removed, suffering through all the poor health as a result. I wanted to give up at age 58. I decided I was just “old”. After a long road of searching for answers and doctor after uninformed doctor, I finally landed with a wonderful functional medicine doctor. She looked over my extensive file and listened so intently. Then she spoke words that changed my life, “Tracey I believe the root of your issues is not so much thyroid as food allergies!” Then she recommended your book and your elimination diet. I started immediately and WOW WOW WOW what a difference! Gluten and dairy are my enemies. Thank you JJ for getting this info out there in such an amazingly applicable format! You, along with Dr. Leaseburge, have given me back my life! I’m a forever fan of yours!

Dear Jj; I am so enjoying your podcasts! I only discovered this a couple of months ago, and now listen several times a week. I am far from perfect, and still have so much to learn! But I really trust your knowledge and advice. Following that, I have avoided surgery! Crazy, right?!? In June I had my first bout with Diverticulitis. Out of shape, eating whatever, and now in my early 50’s led to my predicament I’m sure. After a week in the hospital, my doctors were planning surgery to remove part of my colon this fall. I started reading The Virgin Diet on ebook while still in the hospital and started it the next week. Not only do I feel better, the colonoscopy Aug 30th showed a healing colon and at my follow up with the surgeon they said they saw no reason to schedule surgery at this time! “Keep doing whatever you’re doing” they said😊. So Thank You, you’re saving my life. ❤️

Best Podcast for real lifestyle changes
JJ, I lost a hundred pounds and I didn’t need you to do it! Only because I just found your show. As I navigate the tougher world of maintenance, your show has become my lifeblood. I’m a sugar junkie who adopted a paleo lifestyle to lose weight and change my health. Your show has real and immediate content that affects my every day life. And it’s down to earth. The science is made simple. I bought the Sugar Impact Diet to challenge me maintenance. You’ve taught me about the importance of sleep and about the unnecessary snacking I do. Way to go. I’m devouring your content like I used to devour sugar. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Ultramarathon Running? Crazy Athletics
Hi JJ, been listening for awhile and have learned a lot! Thanks for your insightful talks. I suffer from hypothyroidism and have struggled with fitness and body fat. I have always wanted to run an ultramarathon, mainly for bragging rights and as an insane goal that I want to do. You talk a lot about how running for weight loss is not good. If you want to run a marathon and stay healthy, what should I do? I would love if you could do an episode on how to train smartly for a one off athletic venture without wrecking your body.

Over the past several years, I have grown fond of listening to podcasts during my daily commute to work, actually whenever I drive, and for many miles logged as a competitive distance runner. Daily I am recommended to review podcasts which I think is very important in order for others to find and enjoy like I have. I keep telling myself, I wonder how I can write a review. One of these days I will take the time to figure it out. Today is the day. Your podcast is the only one that I consistently listen to and enjoy all of your topics and guests. This seems like a one size fits all approach, which never works. In her episode with Natalie Jill when Natalie said she ate pizza, JJ just shut her down because she thinks dairy doesn’t work for anyone. She recommends fasting, which is great for men, but terrible for women’s hormones.

Making sense with your diet options
JJ has been on the front lines of the diet conundrum. She knows all of the wild swings that has been part of opinionated bias of the world of nutrition. She asks the pertinent questions of her guests and has solid knowledge of her subjects for a great podcast. Plus she’s honest and beautiful.

Beat PCOS to get PREGNANT!
JJ and team’s podcasts have helped me get my miracle! After having suffered from irregular periods all my life and having irregular hormones on my labs, I was told by a doctor in the US that I couldn’t have PCOS because I “didn’t fit the regular profile of a PCOS candidate” because I wasn’t overweight and did not have acne or facial hair. It took a conversation with a family friend doctor in my home country that I was informally diagnosed with PCOS. I tried to get pregnant for almost 4 years when I discovered JJ, and each of her podcasts, related to fertility or not, have inspired me to take charge of my physical and mental well-being, and be able to get pregnant naturally. I am so thankful! Please keep bringing the awesome content!!!

I just listened to episode 299 where you interviewed Sheri Salata. I found Sheri and Nancy’s podcast last summer and fell in love with their podcast and message to the world. I actually learned about you via their podcast and fell in love with your podcast and messages as well! I have always told people I am a work in progress. I am in my 50’s and so supercharged with my next adventure thanks to women like you and Sheri & Nancy their to guide us. I just wanted to let you know we appreciate all you do and we are listening😊 keep up the great work! Heidi from Maine

Diabesity
JJ I love your show. Most topics are super interesting to me and I learn little nuggets from every show. However, I was super saddened to listen to this episode. Type II Diabetes is an enormous issue in this country. As a nurse and a person who works out and eats quality everyday, I always appreciate anyone who tries to educate the general community about this topic. Education and awareness is the key! But as a mom of a Type I Diabetic, I was disappointed that NOWHERE in the recording was Type II mentioned. So, it’s platforms like this, that have such a large audience and ability to educate, that frustrate me so so much. For ten years, my sixteen-year old daughter has had to battle rude comments from people who are ignorant. As a member of many social media pages filled with parents like me, I can tell you that her experience is not unique. Next time this subject is discussed, can you please take a moment to educate your listeners about the differences between Types I & II and ensure that the topic is crystal clear? Thanks JJ!

I only listened because she interviewed Jason Fung. Unfortunately the technical issues with uneven sound make this an annoying show to listen to. The volume gets higher and lower and sound even cuts out in places. Please get the recording part down!

Please more info & less interruptions
There are great guests on this show, but each time I listen I end up feeling frustrated at how often JJ interrupts and goes off on her own stuff - she is often answering her own questions that she puts to her guests. I just listened to the episode about the 131 book- and I have no idea what the 131 method is because they never got to that. If that’s a ploy to get you to buy the book for the real info, it’s not working for me. If I get a good deal of information in a podcast I am way more likely to buy a book. Please JJ let your guests talk more about what they are offering and their knowledge, and less time on the back story, and less interrupting. You’re only doing a 30 min podcast which in my opinion means you should get down to the real stuff pretty quickly. I appreciate what you’re doing and the info you’re giving to us, but I’d love to hear a lot more from your guests. Thanks.

Evidence based health info- and concise
I really enjoy this podcast because as a health coach myself, I hear a lot of misinformation out there and really appreciate J.J’s experience as well as her dedication to provide high quality science based health information. I only wish it was a little longer because I have to stop my workout to find another podcast to listen too.

This podcast speaks straight to my soul!
I found JJ when she was a guest on Mark Divine's podcast a few years ago, and she is now my favorite podcast! From this podcast, I've found amazing suppplements and I now have a meditation practice that is amazing! I am a yoga instructor, personal trainer, and fitness coach, so I share the information with everyone I work with! I have alwasy felt like it is okay to be a copy cat as long as you copy the right cat. JJ is definitely the right cat! I am so thankful for this podcast! I love the length and the variety of topic!

JJ Changed my Life
After seeing JJ on a PBS info-mercial my life changed. I stopped eating added sugar and lost 15 lbs. I no longer eat processed foods and read books from experts like JJ, Dr. Mark Hyman and others in their field. JJ's podcast leaves a lot to be desired. The production quality is what most bothers me. With someone with her clout in the field she should spend some coin and have it professionally done. This is why I stopped following her on social media. But her message is true and I appreciate her work. Thanks for opening my eyes to eating in a more healthful way.

I'm nearing 50 this June and I needed some motiviaiton and inspriation to stave off the growing fat around my belly. I feel like I'm in school learning great things on how to take care of my body - most importantly to focus on managing my stress levels and how to be more intentional about what I eat. JJ - you're such a positive person and I love the variety of experts you interview. By making a few changes to my routine I feel more sustain energy throughout my day. I have one question: What are some low impact HIIT workouts? I have scoliosis and jumping aggrivates someback nerves. Thank you for all you do!

It’s love at first listen
I’ve been Betty Rocking for a few months now after following Bree on social for years, I’ve finally gotten serious. Two weeks ago she suggested listening to your podcast on one of her emails. That’s all it took. I have been walking around for two weeks with headphones in trying to listen to as many podcast of yours as possible. Not only that I’ve been texting links to your show to everyone I know. I’m in love! Your show is packed full of so much amazing information. I absolutely loved the show you did with Dr. Kringoudis about understand hormones. I also really enjoyed the show you did on maintaining healthy bones for life. Which leads me to my question, during that show you mention having started your career studying spinal biomechanics. My 14 year old daughter has been diagnosis with Scoliosis she has about a 24% curve in her thoracic spine and 10% in her lumbar. She is very athletic and play multiple sports year round. Also 5’8” and according to the Shriner docs almost done growing. They have advised us to “watch it” and see how it goes progresses. I would really love to hear a show on this topic, is there anyone out there researching this topic? They said there is no way to reverse it through l physical therapy and I just don’t really accept that answer! So please, please , please think of doing a show that focuses on the spine!!! Thank you for all that you do.

Pros and cons
This podcast is informative , well timed (not so long), and wets your appetite to learn more on any given subject JJ presents. My low rating is due to the constant bragging JJ subjects us to. She never ever mentions standing on the shoulders of the giants in this industry who preceded her. Indeed, she has single handedly discovered all she knows on her own! What a clever girl. I also hesitate to trust people who are selling products. What if science discovers that the powders she sells are not useful? Is she going to stop selling them? In conclusion. I will continue listening to JJ’s show; glean the good information off the top and leave the chaff behind.

Great, quick info!
I’ve been a follower of JJ’s since The Virgin Diet, which CHANGED MY LIFE! I only listen to a few podcasts, so the fact that I subscribe and actually listen to every one of JJ’s says a lot about her. I love that they are all roughly 20-30 min and have so many different topics that I somehow always relate to. I hope to run into JJ sometime at my local Tampa Whole Foods or Sprout’s stores! ❤️

My dogs chiropractor changed my life!
Face to face with my dogs chiropractor I found out about JJ and The Virgin Diet. My knees were in terrible pain with arthritis and my brain fog interrupted my thoughts throughout our conversation and his adjustment. She strongly suggested that I go gluten free, get your book and READ it, not just look at the diet. I have been following the guidelines for a couple of months and feel immensely better. I am only 57 and have osteoporosis and osteopenia. I just discovered her podcasts and one directly about bone health. Thank you JJ for my 11 lb weight loss, clear head, better health and a new outlook on life! I’m looking forward to seeing my next bone density test results too!

All I can say is “Wow! Wow! Wow!”
I “found” JJ Virgin about two and a half years ago. I don’t recall how her name came into my life, but I wish I had found her sooner. I am in nursing school (graduating May 3, 2019 ☺️ ) and it kills me to sit and listen to what “they” are trying to get us to absorb and accept as the way of life, wellness and health! I have been an alternative med/health junkie for about 8 years and I am wanting to help and educate those that there is another option. JJ and her crew have helped me keep my sanity on my hour long drives to and from school. The podcasts are priceless and are packed with so much info that a replay occurs often in my car. Please don’t stop making these casts!! Thank you JJ and your team and the guests!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

I love the JJ Virgin podcasts. One of the very best and one of the ones I always follow. An interesting podcast, but with some problems
JJ. Virgin Is obviously knowledgeable and does have some very interesting guests; however I agree with some other reviewers who complain that she interrupts too often, often preventing the answer to a question I really wanted to hear. Probably my biggest complaint, however, are the persistent and offputting mouth noises she makes. Perhaps she has a dry mouth problem, or perhaps she is simply unaware of the strange noises she makes with her mouth and tongue. But other than that I would encourage her to keep up the good work.

Thank you
Just listened to the AIP protocol episode. So much I could say as background as to the hopelessness, fear, sadness, etc in being diagnosed with my third autoimmune condition in 12 years. I have been doing so much research and believe wholeheartedly that I MUST love my body instead of fighting it, because it’s fighting itself. Gifting my body with good nutrition is the first step but the information out there is overwhelming...until today. I started crying at the end of the episode because now I believe I can do it. So thank you JJ. Thank you Dr. Ballantine. Thank you for being warrior goddesses leading the way for the rest of us to believe we are worthy of optimal health and happiness.

Good information
I find a lot of good information in these podcasts and I do like the show. The sound quality is not that of other podcasts and the links posted after the show rarely seem to work. Love the tangible knowledge but...
So happy I discovered this podcast to show realistic, medically-founded nutrition and wellness tips and direction. My only complaint is that there is often distracting background noise. I have heard JJ filing her nails and on The Truth About the Ketogenic Diet it sounded like JJ was cracking nuts or cutting some type of vegetable. Makes me feel like she’s multi tasking and not being an authentic listener of her guests.

JJ Virgin is the only one I will take advice from!
There is so much information out there regarding health and weight-loss and JJ is the only one I trust. She brings on guests that align with her teachings and is continuous with the information she provides. Her podcasts are short, simple, easy to comprehend and always offer something of value. I learned about JJ two years ago when I tried the Virgin Diet (which was successful!). With JJ’s podcasts, I never feel compelled to start a new fad diet or impulsively purchase a program. Rather, I feel like the information in her podcasts build upon one another and I can piece together the information as it works for my body and my lifestyle. The best part is, her fundamental advice always remains constant. JJ I appreciate your podcast and all that you offer (for free!) to the community.

Worst podcast, so much self hype
I really wanted to like this podcast, but after listening to several, I just couldn’t do it anymore. It’s a 30 minute podcast, first 3 to 4 minutes are intro, then 20 minutes of an “interview “ where JJ interjects her thoughts, feelings, or experiences around what the expert is saying, so much that the expert can’t finish answering the question. Then, the last 7 minutes are her answering questions and pushing product. After the podcast with Dr. Alan Christenson, I had to write a review I was so mad. I really wanted to hear what he had to say. I didn’t learn anything, not one question was abled to be answered completely. JJ, listen to your own podcast and make changes.

My hands down Go-To! ♥️🥥🥑
For a long time I’ve been trying to figure out the reason for my fatigue. Heard about JJ’s Sugar-Impact Diet book. Started reading that & listening to this podcast and was like “FINALLY. Someone who is educated, informs honest truths rather than just trying to profit, & tells REASONS WHY. She backs up her facts. My favorite part about the way she educates is she clears up all this ‘what’s good, what’s bad’ confusion by explaining how your diet should be personalized + gives resources (quizzes, medical test recommendations, etc.) to help you find your OWN optimal diet. She makes it simple in identifying the goal, problem & finding the best solution! ♥️Thank you JJ!

Restoring Women's Homones
I have to say JJ you really are incredible. Thank you so much for what you do. I listen religiously to your podcasts. I always get some wonderful little nugget of information that helps me on my journey back to health. But....I must say this one really hit home. Why? because I am a 60 year old women gone through menopause and I feel as though I was left with a disastor like a tornado came and destroyed my body! Sorry to be so negative but that's the way I feel. I have always been so health oriented but getting a handle on hormones is tough. I started using Progeteone creams a while ago so I believe I was on the right track. However when menopause hit man i blew up like a baloon. I gained 35 pounds almost overnight and of course its been right in the belly. Lovely. Not! So like many I have reached out to my doctors and they of course just tell me to eat less, move more. Of course I have done all that and for 3 years nothing has worked for me. I am now on a Keto / Paleo diet with intermindent fasting. I eat one meal a day (a good size one and healthy) this seems to be working for me. Now I do bonebroth in the morning so its not like I am not getting some nutrition during the day. I actually love it. I have learned so much from you. I am working to balance my hormones which is so hard even still. I am going to try Dr. Anna Cabeca's Creams and the Macca powder. Question for you. I do not hear much about women who are low in Estrogens. Like Estrodial. Proesterone is always the topic. But what about low Estrogen? What happens with low estrogens? And what do we do? I have always been afraid to use any kind of Estrogens. I did just have my Estrodial checked and it came back <10pg/ml. I have not heard word one from my doctor yet so I'm certain I'm going to have to go it alone on this as well. Along with the Thyroid issues. Anyway don't get me started. I so appreciate you and what you do. You are saving lives with your knowledge and I wanted you to know that I so apppreciate it. Thank you again. I will be a forever fan.

I am a health coach and I love this podcast for several reasons: - The length of each episode is perfect. Just like her body, there is no fat in this show! Because each interview is only 15-20 minutes long, JJ gets right to the point and asks the questions that we listeners want to know the answers to. - If you want to learn about a variety of ways to be healthy, this is a great show to listen to - the guests are experts in a wide variation of health disciplines and philosophies. - JJ is very upbeat and positive in every interview. Her enthusiasm is one of the reasons I listen to her podcast when I swim - I am able to hear the audio through the water because her energy is so strong! - She speaks honestly about her own personal struggles and the mistaken advice she has given clients in the past. - JJ approaches each interview with the point of view of the listener. When things get too technical, she asks for clarification even though she understands it all perfectly well - she is always thinking about us listeners and making sure we are getting what we need from the discussion. - JJ is very non judgmental. You could tell her anything and she would not be shocked or shaming. I really appreciate that about her. She really comes off as such a lovely person. - I have one criticism of this show: 99.9% of the guests are Caucasian. She occasionally interviews people from Canada or Europe. There is a good mix of men and women experts, but I think the show would be well served to include some folks from other cultures and backgrounds, and their health practices.

JJ Virgin, the best on YOUR HEALTH
Thank you JJ for making essential health information available and accessible! I think your podcasts should be required for every high school health class across the country. You cover vital health information and provide resources to delve deeper into the subjects. What could be better?! I like to wake up and listen to your podcast every morning as your encouragement is a great way to start my day (after my gratitudes) and I get to learn about something that helps me expand my own health program. A big “Thank you” to all of your expert guests who share the wealth of their knowledge with us. We are so blessed to have you!

Lots of podcast out there. I now listen to jj's in the gym while doing ditups and stretching after workouts. I have gotten so much out of it. Interview with Dr. Ritamarie a while back showed me how to measure blood glucose and set me on a path beating back my the onset of diabetes. I use her low carb paleo inspired shake powder each morning. Lots of good info here.

Did 34 sessions of radiation, two surgeries. No chemo. Did the sugar impct prior to cancer. Did the Whole 30 prior too - no food intolerances Ready to get ahold of this before I cant fit thru the door 🤣🤣 Need to stop drinking wine for sure and let go of the white stuff yes. I eat a lot of fish and vegtables, blueberries is my only fruit, one cup of black coffee a day. 12 hour fast is easy for me as I dont do breakfast. Help?

Skeptic to a believer
To be honest I’m a skeptic the more I start learning about “healthy lifestyle hacks.” The main reason is because it is overwhelming and it’s easier to just maintain the status quo. There is too much to buy or do and I never really know where to start. A friend of mine recommended I start listening to his podcast. The first one I listen to I was so excited because JJ talked about pick one thing and start with that. I also started learning more about tapping and first training and incorporated that into my daily routine. Some really big stress point in my life started going away or at least I was managing them better and not letting them eat me up. I started changing some things in my diet and although I am still not hundred percent where I need to please baby steps have made huge improvements and I am motivated to want to do more. I have loved every guest speaker with the diversity and Breadth of information. I have shared so many topics with friends dealing with some of the specific problems and concerns. I love your shakes and bars which are some of the best I’ve found and believe me I’ve tried many. Thank you JJ for your sincerity to want to improve quality of life for many. Keep up the great work, months later I’m still listening and doing and that’s rare for me!

Game Changer!
I first heard you on Bulletproof Radio telling your story about your son, and I may or may not have instantly become a fan. It took me six months to discover you had your OWN show and I have pretty much been listening non-stop ever since. :) Mostly, listening to this podcast has helped me turn my ATTITUDE AROUND. I had gotten into a place where I was willing to go through the motions, but I didn't feel energized by my decisions. You've inspired me to assert confidence in claiming responsibility for my health and wellness, and I feel EXCITED about my health for the first time in a long time. I've joined your Fast Fitness program and my glutes are sore and my steps are logged! Mostly, thank you so much for your boundless energy, your positive attitude, your encouragement, your real-life approach, and because of you, I know that it's possible to be 110%.

I stumbled upon JJ's podcast a few years back, but now I think it was actually a gift from the universe. I was looking for a source that could give me good, honest, knowledgable information, experience, and advice without any pretense. That's exactly what JJ does. Her podcasts keep me coming back to see what new things I can learn and apply towards optimizing my health. From listening to her podcasts and having read The Sugar Impact Diet and The Virgin Diet (both awesome), my health and health consciousness have improved so much. Keep doing what you do JJ. Thank you JJ!
I feel so fortunate for having stumbled upon JJ's podcast. I am a mother of two little boys, one of which has Tourette Syndrome. I have no idea how my son got Tourette, the increasing prevelance of nuerological disorders and food allergies among our children scares me. Tourette used to be rare but I know of three boys and one girl in my community that have it, I also know of several children with ADHD and severe food allergies. The only thing that I can think of is food. I've been in the fitness industry for 16 years but I never learned how to properly eat and I certainly never learned how to feed my children to help their brains develop. JJ has made learning about nutrition accessible and has broken down the "why's" of what to eat in a fun simple way. I have also learned more about self-care so I can be 100% too help my son navigate life with Tourette. She is so relateable as she is a mom and has had to fight for her own son. I also apprecaite that she doesn't expect that everyone has a ton of money to spend on food or the time to spend hours in the kitchen. She has demistified eating healthy and I am confident that I am now giving my son the best nutrition in these crucial years as his brain develops. From the bottom of my heart JJ, thank you.

Phenomenal information
I started my health journey 6 months ago, where I started researching nutrition like crazy. One of the first places I started was JJ Virgin's podcast and book. After that, I've listened to a LOT of other podcasts, and read a ton of books, and at the end of the day, her podcast is still the best, most informative and, based on all the info I've researched and books I've read, the most consistent and accurate. Everything she says in these podcasts has later been confirmed by my other research. She's extremely wonderful, and I hope these podcasts never end.

- How to Combat Shameflammation with Will ColeDid you know that the gut and brain are connected? Maybe you’ve heard of the gut-brain axis, and that your diet impacts mental health, but did you know that significant amounts of serotonin and dopamine are made in the gut? To truly heal, it takes both a dietary and mental-health approach. Dr. Will Cole is an expert in functional medicine with a focus on thyroid disease, autoimmune conditions, hormone imbalances, and digestive disorders. He is the author of several bestselling books, including The Inflammation Spectrum and Intuitive Fasting, and was one of the first doctors to embrace telehealth as a means of reaching more patients. In this episode, we talk about Dr. Cole’s newest book, Gut Feelings, and the relationship between mental and physical health. We tend to separate the two, but they are actually intimately connected. “Shameflammation,” as Dr. Cole calls it, is the intersection between mental/emotional issues like stress and shame and how that impacts your physical body. He also explores what stress can do to your gut and how practices like meditation and breathwork can help regulate the nervous system. You’ll learn how diet, chronic infections, and nutrient deficiencies impact why you feel the way that you do, specifically when it comes to brain fog, fatigue, and other mental-health concerns. And conversely, how stress, shame, trauma and other mental health issues impact your physical body. Pre-order Dr. Cole’s new book: Gut Feelings, and you will get FREE VIP access to exclusive swag delivered straight to your inbox! http://drwillcole.com/gut-feelings0 comments0
- 15 Major Warnings to Know Before Using Ozempic for Weight LossCold therapy refers to exposing your body to cold water or air, cooler than 59°F. The concept has been around for millennia, but it’s gained popularity recently as studies are showing the potential benefits for everything from mental health and mood to a healthy inflammatory response and better metabolism. Exposure to cold water causes the blood vessels to constrict and push all of the blood toward the organs. As a result, the blood acquires more oxygen and becomes super nutrient-rich. As the body starts heating up again, the blood vessels expand, allowing oxygen and that nutrient-rich blood to flow back to the tissues. This increased circulation can help support focus and concentration because the brain is getting oxygenated—but that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the benefits of cold immersion! I’ve been using my cold plunge for a while now, and I can’t say enough about the benefits I have personally experienced. Tune in to learn about the 10 incredible benefits of cold therapy that just might convince you to give it a try!0 comments0

- Aging Powerfully: 3 Key Actions for Optimal Health with Dr. Anurag SinghFrailty doesn’t have to be your reality as you age. With the right approach, it's possible to maintain a vibrant and active lifestyle, even in your 60s, 70s and beyond. In this episode, I talk with Dr. Anurag Singh, the Chief Medical Officer at Timeline Nutrition, who also runs a Switzerland-based research company working to discover and develop novel nutritional compounds that target improvements in mitochondrial health. We delve into the three essential elements that contribute to your overall well-being as you age: diet, exercise, and supplementation. According to Dr. Singh, one of the most important factors is maintaining the health of your mitochondria. With age, these powerhouses of your cells can decline, leaving you feeling tired and unable to do the things you enjoy. You’ll discover how to know if your mitochondrial health is declining and steps you can take to keep them functioning at their best. Muscle health is critical, and maintaining it requires a sufficient intake of protein. - The DANGERS of the Kardashian Diet No One Is Talking AboutIn just 3 weeks, Kim Kardashian lost 16 pounds to fit into a dress for the Met Gala. I’ve helped actors get ready for roles, including Brandon Ralph when he debuted as Superman, and I see this situation as similar to getting ready for a film. In this episode, I critique Kim’s weight loss plan, revealing the good and the bad—and what you actually want to do for fast and lasting fat loss. You’ll learn all about the diet and exercise plan Kim went on. To be honest, some of the things she did, I’d do myself and recommend to others! But other parts of her plan have some serious health risks, and will cause you to actually hold on to weight, not lose it! Ultimately, Kim Kardashian’s diet may work for a one-night role, but it’s not a healthy or sustainable solution for long-term weight loss. If you want to lose weight fast, I reveal what you need to do to make it healthy and sustainable. If you’re going to go for fast weight loss, you’ve got to do it right, or it’ll backfire and you’ll have another yo-yo diet on your hands. Be sure you listen to the whole conversation to get my nutrition and exercise tips, plus two strategies I recommend for boosting your metabolism and losing body fat.0 comments0

- Learning How to Process Grief in a Landscape of Loss with Dr. Sherry WallingYour body keeps score. But, we’re not taught to navigate grief in our culture. How do we properly heal, balance, and reset our nervous systems? In this episode, JJ talks with Dr. Sherry Walling, a clinical psychologist, speaker, podcaster, author, and mental health advocate. Dr. Walling was catapulted into the world of grief and darkness after she lost her dad to cancer and her brother to alcohol addiction and depression. She needed to find a way to honor the grief and loss, while also staying in the fullness and beauty of life. In our culture, we’re taught to numb out or to get back up and go on with our lives. But we need to learn to grieve better because time doesn’t heal all wounds. “If we don't actively grieve, we're going to passively grieve,” says Dr. Walling. “And that creates a lot of complication for us in our body's systems.” Dr. Walling starts with the simplest place to start navigating grief. Then, she moves into deeper ways to move through our grief actively. When you do address your grief, it can lead to amazing shifts in your physical, mental, and emotional health – and we’re all navigating some type (or types) of grief in our lives.
