Loved this intimate and also accessible podcast
I cruised through this . I found it human . I found it incredibly insightful, and also easy to make connections of Russian politics and Putins legacy ESPECIALLY given current events in a way that felt informed and balanced It was also alarming Well done and thank you for making it

So good, it feels real. The tragedy is that it is real.
This podcast has a great balance between facts, opinions, and reports from the time. Everyone should be listening to this, right now, in 2022.

Binge-worthy podcast
I’ve heard Ben promote this series on Pod Save this World but assumed he was over-hyping it. I was wrong. I was totally drawn into the story of Boris Nemetsov and felt drawn to his daughter Zhanna Nemetsova. I binged the entire series in a couple of days.

Another Russia was fantastic!!
One of the best things I’ve listened to, ever! As a student on the topic, and someone with Roots in Eastern Europe, I found this absolutely fascinating, excellently executed, and extremely informative! Well done, and perfectly timely!!

Incredibly Interesting
When I first heard about this podcast I immediately subscribed because it sounded super interesting. And I was not disappointed. Zhanna’s story and that of her father’s, which drives the podcast, is so beautiful and heartbreaking. If you are interested in world politics, history, Russia, or just a person looking for a great podcast to listen to “Another Russia” should be at the top of your list.

Excellent podcast with an excellent soundtrack
This was a great podcast, and I actually wish there had been more episodes. And I have to mention how much I loved the theme music by Martin Orswick — I looked forward to hearing it in each episode, and I wish I could buy it somewhere, it was that good — haunting and beautiful at the same time.

Another great Crooked pod
Nemtsov’s story is a great lens through which to understand Russia’s recent history and how we’ve landed where we are. Very well done.

Bravo!
I just finished the podcast and I am feeling so emotional - for Zhanna’s love and loss of her father and Ben’s warning to us. This series is excellent.

Really wonderful, heartfelt podcast
Both of the hosts of this one were great at conveying both the stakes in Russia as well as the love and loss of father and daughter. I learned a lot but was also touched and reminded of my own father. So, so well done.

Excellent series
Fascinating. So well researched and put together. Boris Nemstov is a man to inspire us all, a man willing to risk everything in order to fight for democracy. As Ben Rhodes implies in the last episode, his situation can be seen as a foreshadowing of our own troubles in America, with threats of a rising anti-democratic, even autocratic regime in our midst. Thank you for this program!

Fascinating and Informative
One of the best narratives out there outlining Russia’s failed democratic movement and how all the pieces fit together in the lead-up to the current invasion of Ukraine. By telling the co-host’s personal story of the murder of her father, the parallel stories of a corrupt government and a totalitarian leader are scaled down in a way that makes them more immediate and comprehensible than any news report.

Gripping and timely
It’s been awhile since I listened to a podcast where I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the next episode to drop. Thanks to Ben and Zhanna! Also need to give the composer (Martin?) a shout out, love the music!

Benzhanna Bazinga!
I could listen to Ben Rhodes all day long. He makes being excellent sound easy. The thoughtful interplay that unfolds the recent tragic history of Russia through the familial story of Zhanna, Namastov’s daughter, is riveting and educational. Zhanna’s raw first person account from her front row seat coupled with Ben’s keen ability to seemlessly ask clarifying questions in a conversational style showcases the synergy between them.

At the edge of my seat
I can’t wait for the next episode each week. I’m engrossed in the storytelling, but feel as though I’m learning more intimately about the Russian-Ukrainian situation where it began. Americans are grossly undereducated about world matters and it’s a terrific addition to the podcast world as well as mine.

A Must Listen
An engaging, educational, and timely podcast. Zhanna is a tremendous talent and exactly the right person to tell this story, adding humor and humanity to a difficult subject. Ben is as intelligent and thoughtful as ever, offering supportive details and explanation, but never stepping on Zhanna’s toes. Can’t wait to hear more, and to see more of this kind content from Crooked!

Great listen
Interesting and engaging- though I wish more people would use their platforms to amplify Ukrainian voices. While the “not all russians” market is a bit saturated with coverage, if you’re going to listen to one legitimate not all russians story, Boris Nemtsov’s should be that story and they do an excellent job telling it.

The Russian hero
I had heard of Boris Nemtsov tangentially from Bill Browder’s books and from Aleksei Navalny”s work. This podcast introduces us to the true hero Mr. Nemtsov was. I can’t wait to listen to the rest of the series. May his family find peace, purpose, and power from his legacy.
